Once you elevate ethnicity, or nepotism, over competence the system rots from within.

...and Silentbrick, I expect that soon the US Military will start turning into a joke as all of the "affirmative action promotion" NCOs gain seniority and start promoting the next generation by tribal criteria.

In Australia the process was called the tall poppy syndrone, a peculier feature of all societies, where nobody was allowed to be considered better than the rest of the population for too long since heroic people made the rest feel inadequate.
