ScFi / Space travel to DEAD space moon or planet is still somewhat fascinating.

But how Privatizing Space exploration?
The space mining of rare minerals etc. as the incentive for quicker non-taxpayer funded results.

Then have the DC Swamp laser focused on fixing what's wrong already under our feet here 1st?

iirc that was a subplot of the Andromeda Strain. A space probe bringing back alien strains for potential bio-war use.
