This war is a result of the NATO-backed, CIA-backed, IMF-backed coup on Ukraine in 2014 that put Poroshenko and Yatsenyuk in power, and put the Ukrainian economy into the hands of the west through IMF structural adjustment programs. In 2015 John Mearsheimer was explicitly warning that “the west is leading Ukraine down the primrose path, and the end result is that Ukraine is going to get wrecked.”

Russia is unviable without Ukraine being at least neutral, and everyone knows this. Why do you think the deep state tried to add Ukraine to NATO? Imagine the Warsaw Pact adding Mexico and then stationing massive numbers of troops and nuclear weapons there and you get the idea. It's not defensive at all, it has no other reason to exist other than as a launching pad for a war of aggression.

They want Russia conquered, broken up into small states that are unable to resist globalism, and resettled with colonists from Africa. Then onward to China. And finally, with no more nations to conquer, they can get rid of that pesky US Constitution and turn the former territory of the USA into a cash cow for the rest of the world.

Henry Kissinger: Why I changed my mind about Ukraine

Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger argued on Tuesday that Ukrainian membership of NATO would be “appropriate” after peace has been secured.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum via Zoom, the 99-year-old said that although he was against Ukraine joining NATO before the invasion, it was now a desired outcome. “Before this war I was opposed to the membership of Ukraine in NATO because I feared it would start exactly the process we are seeing now,” he said. But now, “the idea of a neutral Ukraine in these conditions is no longer meaningful.”

I don’t hold Mr. Kissinger up as a genius, but he was quoted with some regularity here by anti-Ukraine/anti-war posters in the early days. Brief video at the link.

Mr. Kissinger sees today’s world as verging on a dangerous disequilibrium. “We are at the edge of war with Russia and China on issues which we partly created, without any concept of how this is going to end or what it’s supposed to lead to,” he says.

Mr. Kissinger courted controversy earlier this year by suggesting that incautious policies on the part of the U.S. and NATO may have touched off the crisis in Ukraine. He sees no choice but to take Vladimir Putin’s stated security concerns seriously and believes that it was a mistake for NATO to signal to Ukraine that it might eventually join the alliance: “I thought that Poland—all the traditional Western countries that have been part of Western history—were logical members of NATO,” he says. But Ukraine, in his view, is a collection of territories once appended to Russia, which Russians see as their own, even though “some Ukrainians” do not. Stability would be better served by its acting as a buffer between Russia and the West: “I was in favor of the full independence of Ukraine, but I thought its best role was something like Finland.”

Deep state propaganda works, everyone. And after this, they'll start another war and they'll fool you into cheering for that one, too.

Oh, but you think NATO and the EU could control events in that vast landmass? These are the same people who thought they could control events in Afghanistan.
