#2 ...There are indications that some - SOME - of the Leopard losses were decoys. Given that the Ukranians have shown a definite bent for tactical deception, I believe it. On the other hand, losses are to be expected, especially in the early stages of a fight. Let's see what happens.

#6 Buyers would only be hurt if they purchased the tanks and tried to use them in combat against the Russians. The people most hurt, if all the vehicles are rapidly destroyed, are the sellers. There are many recent civilian examples of the impact of poor marketing decisions. This deployment may prove to have been such a decision.

#7 2 Leopards were destroyed by artillery fire. They bunched up, stopped and the Russians made them pay for that mistake. Any modern tank will be destroyed by 155mm artillery, even the Abrams. Doubt this put a dent in the sales of the Leopard just like the ones Turkey lost in Syria didn't.

Ground launched and air launched ATGMs also were a factor.
