#1 Very large ammo dump destroyed in Krasnodon near the Russian border (outside GMLRS range). Will hamper Russian operations in Kreminna, Bahkmut and south to Avdiivka and Marinka.

Igor Girkin got a severe beat down in Russian prison. Rumor a while ago was that he was housed with Ukrainian prisoners in hopes of Putin being relieved of his Girkin problem.

Russian VDV affiliated blogger complaining about Ukrainians taking half of Verbove and threatening to cut off Russian forces to the north in Novofedorivka.

#2 A Russian volunteer in the so-called “LPR” describes Russian counterattacks in Bakhmut no other than “Zerg rushes with no progress”. He says men are thrown into the meat grinder just to carve out a few decent looking headlines in the Russian media. Bakhmut and it’s satellites is now a trap for the occupiers.

#3 I presume Ukraine is working toward encircling Bakhmut.

Very slow going according to ISW maps even though there are no hard defense perimeters. Presume Russia is sending a lot of troops there.

#5 Abu, why should Ukraine shut down their government when it is the US who can't get their act together. The Ukrainian budget for the next few months is already in the bank. The main budget sources for the Ukrainians comes from their taxes (100% used to fund the war), European aid and lastly US aid.

US aid amounts to $50 billion/year. Half is financial (appropriations), including some loans. The other half is military. Much of the military aid is overvalued surplus goods that the US military won't use and won't replace (Humvee, MRAP, M-113 APC, M1A1, M2A2, old SAMs, 105 and 203mm artillery shells). The other part is equipment and ammunition the US uses and will replace with new stock (155mm shells, small arms and ammo, GMLRS, Patriot, JLTV, Javelin, Stinger). For example, replacing 1 million 155mm frag shells will cost $1 billion or less. The replacement stock money is spent with US defense contractors employing US workers. The amount that actually comes out of the treasury is probably $30-35 billion/year, $40 billion w/ replacement of stock. Off setting that are the billions in increased energy and weapons sales to Europe. Even the Germans are buying F-35s from us, a move the Germans never thought they'd do. Compare with the $400 billion stolen from Covid relief aid.

In the meantime, the Europeans are spending 50% more, much of it real money financial assistance. They are also sending a lot more equipment w/o overvaluing their obsolete weapons. That doesn't count the billions spent to support several million refugee women and children in their countries.

As for packing our shit and going home, we can't. The Russians have already said this the first step of reassembling the Soviet empire. If not stopped in Ukraine, they will invade the Baltics, Poland, Moldova, Romania, Caucasus, and the Stans. Stationing in Europe 200,000 troops will cost at least $100 billion/year, not including equipement costs. Multiply that by 50 years like last time.
