#4 If they can survive a “brief freeze” then they have no chance in a northeast winter.
If they somehow do- well we kept a tasteful arrangement of flyswatters in a vase in our Bronx apartment, and that solved most problems like this.

#5 Rumor has it, there is a newly-developed spider bite vaccine coming out. As one might expect after the COVID thing, there is some concern about side effects which at this point seem mainly to involve growing a chitinous exoskeleton.
