U.S. Manhunt after Explosives Found in San Francisco
[AnNahar] U.S. authorities have launched a nationwide manhunt for a 42-year-old man who went on the run after explosives were found at his home in the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
, they said Monday.

Ryan Kelly Chamberlain II, 42, was last seen Sunday driving a car south of San Francisco with either Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, or Texas license plates.

"The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous," said the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the west coast city.

Chamberlain, described as a political and media consultant, left what appeared to be an online suicide note, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

"So much was broken from this past year-and-a-half, and from moments way back before that," it quoted the three-page letter, entitled "Goodbye," as saying. "I guess it was just insurmountable, and the time's up."

Chamberlain is described as white, 6'3" tall, and 225 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and blue jeans, according to the FBI.

by the FBI and local police, the FBI said in a Twitter message late on Monday.

Authorities said no known chemical, biological or radiation weapon threat was found in a search of his home on Saturday that turned up kabooms.

Kindergarten graduation brawl
[CINCINNATI] A 33-year-old Millvale man is wanted on on suspicion of starting a fight that led to a brawl during a punch-and-cookies reception after a kindergarten graduation Monday, prompting an elementary school to be placed on lockdown.

Raymond Walker is charged with assault and inducing panic in the 11:30 a.m. disturbance at Mt. Healthy North Elementary School, 2170 Struble Road in Springfield Township, court records show.

Walker is accused of starting a fight with another man, Dominique Garrett, and injuring him, according to police.

The dispute sparked a brawl involving up to 20 others after the 150 kindergartners graduated and were snacking on punch and cookies in the school cafeteria.

"The assault did induce panic during the assembly, causing several in attendance to be pushed," Springfield Township police wrote in a sworn statement filed in Hamilton County Municipal Court. "The school was placed on lockdown and then eventually evacuated."

Walker left the school before authorities arrived. His last known address is the 1900 block of Neyer Avenue in Millvale, on Cincinnati's west side.

Brevard judge tells attorney, 'I'll beat your ass'
[WFTV] Court deputies had to break up a physical fight between a Brevard County judge and a public defender after an argument during a hearing on Monday.

Judge John Murphy is accused of punching veteran public defender Andrew Weinstock after the two had words during court in which Murphy allegedly pressured Weinstock to get his client to waive his right to a speedy trial.

"You know, if I had a rock I would throw it at you right now," Murphy tells Weinstock. "Stop pissing me off. Just sit down."

"You know I'm the public defender. I have a right to be here and I have a right to stand and represent my client," Weinstock said in the video.

The judge allegedly asked Weinstock to come to the back hallway, an area where there are no cameras, which is where the fight broke out.

"If you want to fight, let's go out back and I'll just beat your ass," Murphy tells Weinstock before the two head out of the courtroom.

While Murphy and Weinstock could not be seen, the courtroom camera captured audio of the scuffle and several loud thuds that accompanied it.

Those inside the courtroom sat uncomfortably and then clapped when the altercation sounded as if it ended.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
A Worthy Rant
Science fiction author John C. Wright responds to a nattering nabob who dares to accuse him of not supporting the current demand circling amongst the darling Left that sci-fi must support "diversity".

It's of no interest to the War on Terror whatsoever, but if you want to learn to write a truly righteous rant you should study Mr. Wright carefully.

Highly recommended to all aspiring Rantburg commenters.

USSC: International Chemical Weapons Treaty Doesn't Apply to Wife Harassing Husband's Lover

#1  Bond was eventually videotaped spreading chemicals on items her former friend, Myrlinda Haynes, might touch, 24 separate times. Haynes avoided injury in most of those incidents, largely because the chemicals' bright orange color tipped her off that something was up.

A cunning genius plot, but every ointment has it's fly, as they say.

I wonder how long the Supreme Court justices pondered the issue?
Posted by: trailing wife || 06/04/2014 7:45 Comments || Top||

#4  The Supreme Court ruled that the federal law shouldn't have been used to prosecute Bond, as her actions were forbidden under state or local laws.

You mean someone up there still recognizes the 10th amendment? Or is this another 'one from column A and one from column B' excuse to avoid some esoteric conflict with an earlier power grab?
Posted by: Procopius2k || 06/04/2014 8:18 Comments || Top||

#5  If the Supreme Court had ruled the other way, what punishment does the treaty on chemical weapons stipulate? Under the equal protection clause I would insist on the same punishment as pencil-neck; i.e. nothing.

Saudi Review Finds Over 100 More MERS Infections

The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, which is grappling to contain the spread of a frequently deadly respiratory virus, announced Tuesday that a review of the illness led authorities to sharply revise upward the number of confirmed infections and deaths from the disease.

The surprise disclosure followed the unexpected firing of the kingdom's deputy health minister, heightening concerns about the country's ability to halt the spread of the Middle Eastern respiratory virus. He was the second senior Saudi health official to lose his job in less than two months.

A report by the official Saudi Press Agency said authorities have registered a total of 688 confirmed infections and 282 deaths as a result of MERS since the virus was first identified in 2012. Of those infected, 53 were reported to still be receiving treatment.

The Saudi Health Ministry's most recent tally of cases listed 575 cases and 190 deaths, meaning that over 100 cases had previously gone unreported.

Pentagon Says Russian Fighter Intercepted U.S. Recon Plane
Mitt Romney did say.
[AnNahar] An armed Russian fighter jet intercepted a U.S. military reconnaissance plane in late April in international airspace over the Sea of Okhotsk, several days after another intimidating maneuver in the Black Sea, the Pentagon disclosed Tuesday.

U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey both communicated U.S. concerns over the incident directly to the Russians, Pentagon front man Colonel Steven Warren said.

Warren said the U.S. RC-135 reconnaissance plane was on a routine mission over international airspace when it was intercepted by an Su-27 fighter.

"The Su-27 approached the RC-135 across the nose of the U.S. aircraft at approximately 100 feet," he said.

The U.S. aircraft's crew members were able to see that the Russian plane was armed when it briefly exposed its belly during the maneuver, he said.

The incident occurred over the Sea of Okhotsk, which lies in the Pacific north of Japan between Sakhalin Island and the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's far east.

The incident comes amid heightened tension between Washington and Moscow over the crisis in Ukraine.

Less than two weeks earlier, on April 12, a Russian Su-24 fighter bomber made a low pass over the destroyer USS Donald Cook as it cruised in international waters in the Black Sea.

At the time, the Pentagon denounced the incident as "provocative and unprofessional."

Warren said he was not aware of any other incidents involving Russian aircraft since April 23.

"We continue to conduct normal operations," he said.

Europe
Ukraine Urges Civilians to Stay Indoors amid Eastern Fighting
[AnNahar] Ukraine's interior minister on Tuesday urged civilians across parts of the restive Donetsk region to stay indoors amid escalating fighting in the separatist east.

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov wrote on his Facebook page that residents in the rebel stronghold city of Lugansk and the neighboring towns of Kramatorsk and Krasnyi Lyman should not venture outside "in order to avoid risking their lives".

He added that a "very intense shootout" was raging on Tuesday morning in the small nearby town of Semenivka.

Avakov's comments came a day after several hundred separatist gunnies attacked a Ukrainian border guard service camp in the neighboring separatist region of Lugansk.

One of the largest rebel offensives of the seven-week insurgency led to a day-long standoff in which Kiev officials said five pro-Russian gunnies were killed.

The military reported suffering no fatalities in Lugansk on Monday and it was not immediately clear if the standoff had been resolved by Tuesday morning.

Lugansk's self-declared "prime minister" Vasyl Nikitin told AFP that at least three civilians and the separatist administration's top health official died in the violence.

Two Killed in Pakistan Airforce Plane Crash
[AnNahar] A Pakistain air force fighter plane crashed at a bus terminal on the outskirts of Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
on Tuesday, killing at least two people and injuring eight, officials said.

The incident happened in the Baldia Town district just west of Karachi, Pakistain's biggest city and commercial hub.

Pakistain air force jets frequently crash during training missions, with officials blaming technical faults.
"At least two people have died, one of them was the pilot of the aircraft," Sajid Sadozai, a senior police official, told AFP, adding the corpse count may rise.

He said two buses parked at the terminal were destroyed while another was damaged.

TV footage showed plumes of black smoke rising from the site as rescue teams rushed in.

An air force front man confirmed the crash and death of a pilot but could not give a cause for the incident.

The plane was described as a small fighter jet but its type is not yet known.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Report: Lebanese PM Welcomed World Bank Electricity Project
[AnNahar] World Bank chief Jim Yong Kim was in Beirut on Tuesday for talks with Lebanese officials on the country's economic situation and mainly a proposal to fund an electricity project, which was welcomed by Prime Minister Tammam Salam.

Al-Liwaa newspaper quoted sources as saying that Salam reacted positively to the funding that is expected to have low interests.

The plan will be implemented in less than 10 years to help Leb overcome the burden of its general debt, the daily said.

The power project will help Electricite du Liban avoid major rationing in the summer season. The state-run firm has warned that rationing would be scaled up to 10 hours daily if the authorities failed to transfer funds to it.

It said another option would be to increase electricity tariffs to reduce the deficit, which was worsened by more consumption due to the presence of a more than a million Syrians who have fled their war-torn country.

The World Bank's proposal is part of its initiative to implement the pledges made by the International Support Group for Leb that was first established in New York in September last year, al-Liwaa said.

The Group undertook to work together to mobilize support for the illusory sovereignty and state institutions of Leb and to highlight and promote efforts to assist the country where it was most affected by the Syrian crisis, including in respect of strengthening the capacity of the Lebanese Armed Forces, assistance to refugees, and structural and financial support to the government.

The World Bank says that Lebanese citizens incur on average 220 interruptions of electricity per year, the worst performance in the region.

Kim, who was in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
in the first stop of a regional tour before arriving to Beirut, said that the conflict in Syria has cost Leb $7.5 billion.

Kim said the World Bank is trying "as much as possible" to help Leb and Jordan that host the largest Syrian refugee populations.

Leb's gross domestic product dropped 2.9 percent annually between 2012 and 2014, according to World Bank estimates, while 170,000 Lebanese fell into poverty and the unemployment rate doubled to more than 20 percent.

The World Bank warned that refugees in Leb and Jordan are putting extra strain on services such as water, electricity, waste disposal, primary education and health, while increasing competition for scarce jobs.
