FDA regulators strike again - issue ruling against brewery selling spent grain as animal feed

#1  There is nothing they won't over regulate and drive up cost for consumer and businesses.

Don't they realize the less business the less tax revenue for their ever growing and parasitic government?

#6  A parasite does not mind if the host dies as long as a new host is readily available.

Farmers have been feeding spent grain to their animals for a long time; since the invention of beer, I'd wager. It just now became a problem worthy of the Federal government's attention.

Of course not, Darth. They see NO connection between business and and the money they steal from us.

Hollande Axes PM after Election Debacle, Names Valls as New Premier
[AnNahar] French President Francois Hollande
...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist...
on Monday reacted to a humiliating electoral rout for his Socialist Party by naming popular Interior Minister Manuel Valls as the country's new prime minister.

Valls, 51, replaces Jean-Marc Ayrault at the helm of a new government which will not include the two Green ministers who were part of the outgoing administration.

Hollande confirmed Ayrault's dismissal and Valls' promotion in a televised address to the nation, a day after the Socialists lost more than 150 towns and cities to the right or far-right in municipal elections on Sunday

"In the elections, you expressed your unhappiness and your disappointment. I have heard your message, it is clear," Hollande said, admitting that voters had lost patience with high taxes and record unemployment.

He said Valls would be charged with implementing a package of pro-business policies known as the Responsibility Pact, which have been attacked by the left of his party.

But he said this would be balanced by a new "solidarity pact" which would include steps to boost spending on education and health, reduce income and payroll taxes - provided they can be financed by cuts in state spending elsewhere.

"It is about reforming our state ... and preserving our social model. In short, we want to be both fairer and more efficient," Hollande said.

Waking up to headlines Monday that included "A rout", "A slap" and "A kick up the backside", Hollande was left with little option but to order a radical shake-up of a government seen as drifting hopelessly against a backdrop of real economic pain for millions of French families.

Both the far-right National Front (FN) and the mainstream opposition made historic gains in Sunday's nationwide elections, which were the first major electoral test since Hollande's 2012 election.

The scale of the setback was unprecedented.

Marine Le Pen's FN, skilfully rebranded as more than just an anti-immigrant party, won control of 11 towns and more than 1,400 municipal seats nationwide, easily its best ever performance at the grassroots level of French government.

But even more worrying for Hollande and Co. was the strong showing of the mainstream Union for a Popular Movement (UMP). The party of former president Nicolas Sarkozy
...23rd President of the French Republic. Sarkozy is married to singer-songwriter Carla Bruni, who has a really nice birthday suit...
snatched a string of major towns that were once considered bastions of the left in a performance which, if repeated in national elections, would see them sweep back to power with ease in 2017.

Born in Barcelona, Valls is a dapper, good-looking politician who has consistently been the most popular member of the Socialist-led government with approval ratings Hollande can only dream of.

Having acted as Hollande's communications manager in the 2012 campaign, the twice-married father of four is personally close to the president.

But he is regarded with suspicion by many on the left of his party because of his attacks on shibboleths such as the 35-hour working week and his uncompromising stance on law-and-order issues.

Appointing him as prime minister is a bold and decisive move by Hollande, some might say uncharacteristically so. But, as with his adoption of the Responsibility Pact -- which aims to reduce companies payroll taxes in the hope it will lead to them hiring more staff -- it comes with the risk of exacerbating internal party tensions.

The issue was underlined on Monday when Green ministers Cecile Duflot and Pascal Canfin announced they would not be part of the new government, describing the appointment of Valls as "not an adequate response to the problems faced by the French."

Divisions inside the Socialist Party are already acute because of misgivings on the left over Hollande's pursuit of spending cuts required to get La Belle France's budget deficit under control.

The full line-up of the new cabinet is expected to emerge on Tuesday with interest particularly keen in whether Hollande will recall the mother of his four children, Segolene Royal, from the political wilderness.

Royal was the Socialists' presidential candidate in 2007 but her inclusion in Hollande's first cabinet was reportedly blocked because of hostility from Valerie Trierweiler, the president's then girlfriend.

That obstacle has now been removed following Hollande's separation from Trierweiler, and Royal is tipped for a return to the frontline of politics with a major portfolio covering education, sport and youth.

Fifth Column
Obama's Puppeteer
Valerie Jarrett is President Obama's single most important and influential adviser. No one else in the White or the entire administration is as close to Obama. She has been described as everything from his "right-hand woman" to like a sister and even a mother to Obama. To cite some mainstream/leftist sources: The New York Times says she's Obama's "closest friend in the White House," his "envoy," his "emissary," and his "all-purpose ambassador." The Times calls her the "ultimate Obama insider." Dana Milbank says her connection to Obama is "deep and personal" and that she's "the real center of Obama's inner circle."

Obama himself calls her one of his "oldest friends" and says "I trust her completely."

As for Jarrett, she says that she and Obama have a "shared view of where the United States fits in the world." She says they "have kind of a mind meld." She's says that "chances are, what he wants to do is what I'd want to do."

#1  I've always said that the only reason we 'got' OBL was that when Obama was asked for a go-nogo decision he could not contact his master (ValJar) and actually made a decision on his own.
Ever since then she has kept him on a very tight leash.

#3  This is the text of a email my ex-military buddies are passing around. I can't speak to its authenticity regarding the facts but it makes logical sense given what we've come to expect from Zero.

Apparently the President "managed" the details of the rescue of Captain Phillips. In doing so he earned the hostility of the Seals entrusted with the mission. Here's an account by a career Naval officer who had a distinguished career, Herb Schwartz, in which he refers to the President as "Zero". (Which gives you an indication that he feels the President was more of an obstructionist than what the WH would later characterize as "daring and decisive", once success had been achieved.

If you see the movie, keep these things in mind !

The real story of the rescue of Captain Phillips...

Herb Schwartz is a Navy Blue and Gold Officer for the Naval Academy and father of the highest ranked graduate at the USNA in 2000. He flew missions over the former Soviet Union with Francis Gary Powers, taught at the Judge Advocates college and briefed President Kennedy as an intelligence officer. The best is that he is my friend and a man I trust. Did I forget that he is an author and a retired Military Judge.

Begin forwarded message:

From: Herb Schwartz, Subject:
The real story of Captain Phillips written shortly after the event by someone who was there.

All of us want to raise our glass this week to the Navy SEALs who popped those three Somali pirates. And I'm sure you want to hear the real story of what happened. Especially because there is a revoltingly opportunistic and cowardly side to it. Guess which side Zero (aka: our president) is on?

Why, for example, did it take SEAL Team Six (aka DEVGRU, Navy Special Warfare Development Group, the Navy's equivalent of Delta Force) over 36 hours to get to the scene?

Because Zero refused to authorize the SEAL deployment for those 36 hours, during which the OSC - the on scene commander, Cmdr. Frank Castellano of the USS Bainbridge - repeatedly requested them.

Once the SEALs arrived - parachuting from a C-17 into the ocean near the ship - Zero then imposed Rules of Engagement (ROE) specifying the SEALs could not do anything unless the life of the hostage, Captain Richard Phillips, was in "imminent" danger.

Thus, when Capt. Phillips attempted to escape by jumping off the lifeboat into the ocean, the SEAL snipers had all four pirates (one later surrendered) sighted in and could have taken them out then and there - but they could not fire due to Zero's ROE restrictions.

When the SEALs approached the lifeboat in a RIB (rigid-hull inflatable boat) carrying supplies for Capt. Phillips and the pirates, the pirates fired upon them. Not only was no fire returned due to the ROE, but as the pirates were shooting at the RIB, SEAL snipers on the Bainbridge had them all dialed in. No triggers were pulled due to the ROE.

Two specific rescue plans were developed by Cmdr. Castellano and the SEAL teams. Zero personally refused to authorize them.

After the second refusal and days of dithering, Cmdr. Castellano decided he had the Operational Area and OSC authority to "solely determine risk to hostage" and did not require any further approval of the president.

Four hours later, the White House is informed that three pirates are dead and Capt. Phillips has been rescued unharmed. A WH press release is immediately issued, giving credit to the president for his "daring and decisive" behavior that resulted in such success.

Zero has absolutely no military knowledge or experience whatsoever. He demanded decisional control over the entire hostage drama to the last detail. All actions required his personal approval. He dithered like a coward while the world laughed at our warships flummoxed by four illiterate teenagers with AKs in a lifeboat.

Only when the Navy Commander decided to ignore his Pantywaist-in Chief and take action and responsibility himself, were the incredible skills of the SEALs put into play.

That Zero could cynically and opportunistically claim that his "bold" "calm" "tough" leadership was responsible should remind everyone that not a single action, not a single word of this man can be trusted. He is bereft of honesty and moral character. That's why he's Zero.

We raise a glass full of pride and gratitude to Navy Commander Frank Castellano, the Navy SEALs for their incredible competence, and our military as we also recognize Zero for what he is, or more appropriately, for what he is not.

#5  This letter to the editor was written by Reis R. Kash of Springfield, Oregon and submitted to the Register-Guard of Eugene Oregon. The letter appeared in the newspaper on March 19, 2014.

>Obama is no ordinary weakling.

Those who compare the bare-chested conqueror of the Crimea with the metrosexual ruler of the United States and find our emperor weak to the point of deserving ridicule miss the essential strength of President Obama.

It’s no ordinary weakling who can turn a once-respected country into an international joke; reduce Congress to a gaggle of sniveling sycophants; turn the world’s finest medical system into a failed third-rate socialist nightmare with a stroke of his pen; shatter our Constitution without attempted recourse by the sons and daughters of frontiersmen and pioneers whose blood was used to write that inspired document; and turn the people of our once-united states into a herd of competing minorities who, like suckling pigs, are each afraid to lose his place on the government teat should he raise his voice to protest the ruin of our country.

So don’t denigrate the nonentity ruler who has overcome his uncertain ancestry and ludicrous incompetence to do what no other king or dictator has been able to do in our 237-year history: He has destroyed America.

#6  He dithered like a coward while the world laughed at our warships flummoxed by four illiterate teenagers with AKs in a lifeboat.

His dithering wasn't cowardly, it was calculated. Everything he has done has been carefully calculated to do maximum damage to our Republic.

Damage to our our prestige, Constitution, economy, psyche and every aspect of our identity. He is our destroyer. May he get what he has coming to him. ValJar too.

#7  The dithered with a purpose, just like the deaths of the former Seals in Benghazi, at every opportunity, the death of the Republic's US military is his objective.

#8  If we were able to follow the spoor, I suspect we'd find Brennan's team and Valjar at the root of Benghazi, F&F, Boston Bombing, and most of the other scandals over the past five years. Call me a conspiracy nut if you will, but I just have this sense, this hunch.

#9  It is very difficult to watch what these dedicated communists have done to dismantle our country in 6 years--these America haters. It leaves one with a strong sense of revulsion and a hope that Congress would also feel this repugnance--enough to do something about it. Certainly, one would hope that the voters would vote in mass to save the country from these narcissistic bonehead SOBs. The present regime in D.C. can all kiss my tukhus.

Obama Care California Patches Deaf Callers Through To Phone Sex Hotline
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- On the deadline to sign up for health coverage through Covered California, some hearing-impaired residents were sent to a chat line offering 'hot ladies' instead of an insurance navigator.

With the deadline looming, an Auburn man scrambled to sign up for Covered California.
A page on the site where users can calculate the cost of coverage lists an incorrect phone number as 1-888-899-4500. The number, which was correct on the Contact Us page, is similar, but just one digit off: 1-888-889-4500.

So what does the incorrect number go to? This is what greets callers instead of health insurance advice:
"Welcome to America's hottest talk line. Ladies, to talk to interesting and exciting guys free, press one now. Guys, hot ladies are waiting to talk to you. Press two to connect free now," the recording says.
