Mexican National Wanted for Double Homicide Admitted to U.S. on H-2B Visa
[Breitbart] A Mexican national wanted for double homicide in Mexico was admitted to the United States through the H-2B visa program, whereby thousands of low-skilled foreign workers are brought in every year to take blue-collar American jobs.

Every year, U.S. companies are allowed to import 66,000 low-skilled H-2B foreign workers to take blue-collar, non-agricultural jobs. The H-2B visa program is used by businesses to bring in cheaper foreign workers and has contributed to blue-collar Americans having their wages undercut.

On September 27, Jose Froylan Garcia Melendez was admitted to the U.S. on an H-2B visa. The following day, after Melendez was rewarded the visa, Mexican officials notified the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency to make them aware that the national was wanted in Mexico for double homicide.

#3  >Every year, U.S. companies are allowed to import 66,000 low-skilled H-2B foreign workers

Wow! that subsidy must cost Americans billions.

No i.e. ZERO immigration of those on less than average wages.
Ensure they have health insurance
Ensure the migrant has good conduct insurance
Ensure they leave on time or insurer pays.

#4  almost half of all H-2B Visa permits are for people to work in Landscaping and Groundskeeping and in many parts of the country these jobs could be done by people who are unemployed or by students working for the summer - probably it would cost the businesses two to four dollars an hour more and wouldn't affect them much after a year or two of adjustment

on the other hand there are some specific jobs like crab meat pickers on the Eastern Shore of Maryland where the H-2B workers are from families that have done this kind of work for several decades and the H-2B workers have higher productivity than untrained US citizens would have even if the citizens were paid $10 more per hour than the H-2B workers -- thus the H-2B program probably keeps a number of businesses from having to declare bankruptcy (also probably reduces the cost of Maryland crabmeat by, say $3/pound). Personally, I consider this mostly a welfare for business program but I suppose if I was in a town on the Md eastern shore that was dependent on crabbing I might feel different

#5  So the H-2B visa is to bring in low-skilled foreign workers to undercut the wages for blue collar workers.

As opposed to the H-1B visa to bring in high-skilled foreign workers to undercut the wages for white collar workers.

French Resistance Hero Georges Loinger, Who Saved Hundreds Of Jewish Children Dies Aged 108
[WZ] French Resistance hero Georges Loinger, who used his ingenuity and athletic prowess to save the lives of hundreds of Jewish children during World War II, has died in Paris at the age of 108.

A talented athlete and cousin of the famous mime artist and fellow Resistance member Marcel Marceau, Loinger would smuggle the children in small groups across the Franco-Swiss border by throwing a ball and telling them to run after it.

Another of his ruses involved him dressing children up as mourners and taking them to a cemetery whose wall abutted the French side of the border.

With the help of a gravedigger’s ladder the "mourners" would clamber over the wall and head for the border just feet away.

The children saved were under the responsibility of the Oeuvre de Secours aux Enfants, a children’s aid society founded in St Petersburg in 1912.

Loinger, who was awarded the Resistance Medal, the Military Cross and the Legion d’honneur, was born in Strasbourg in 1910.

Between April 1943 and June 1944, OSE workers and other rescuers helped hundreds of children escape to Switzerland across the lightly guarded border.

He alone is credited with saving at least 350 children. Recalling his wartime efforts in an interview published earlier this year, Loinger said he would train the children to run before telling them they were going to play ball near the border.

"I threw the ball a hundred metres (yards) toward the Swiss border and told the children to run and get the ball. They ran after the ball and this is how they crossed the border," he told Tablet magazine.

Hands On With the CZ 527 Carbine Rustic (video)
[Guns America Digest] In a world of tactical ninja rifles rated for an assault on Bin Laden’s compound, complete with Crye Precision Multi-cam optional stocks, it is nice to have something that is just fun once in a while. Who am I kidding? Multi-cam is so 2008. New ninja rifles come in ATACR or Kryptek if they are cool. At any rate, it is nice to have a fun gun sometimes. And maybe one that is more suited to bumping around in your truck and being carried in the field with no concern for its ability to break an L shaped ambush. Well, this week I got my hands on one, and it is a winner. Spending time with the CZ 527 reminded me of hunting with a rimfire when I was a kid, and that alone is worth the price of admission.

The entire CZ lineup from the CZ-75 handguns to the beautiful "plinker" 455 Luxe will be examined ASAP.

Pornography has corrupted UK, other Western societies: Analyst
What preciousness, given the source, to be sure.
[PRESSTV] Online pornography, mainly distributed by US internet companies like Google, has led to widespread moral corruption and sexual exploitation in Britain and other Western countries, a political analyst from London says.

William Spring said in an interview with the Press TV on Sunday that reports showing that women are offered homes in Britain in return for sex highlights the dominance of porn in those societies.

“The main problem is the lack of morals in the West. The Western countries are dominated by pornography disseminated by the Google corporation, which has resulted in a belief that women can just be treated as chattels and objects for a man to exploit sexually,” said Spring.

The expert said offering rooms to women in Britain in return for sex was “just another example” of the fundamental problem of not respecting women in the Western societies.

#2  ... offering rooms to women in Britain in return for sex ...

Mr. Spring, let us look at the counterexample of Iran PressTV’s child grooming coreligionists in Rotherham and elsewhere in England, who instead of offering rooms provided blackmail, beatings, and drug addiction in exchange for unwilling prostitution multiple times a day for decades.

Russian troops will get new generation of S-350 Vityaz missile system in 2019
[PRESSTV] The Russian military says it will deploy the new generation of S-350 Vityaz short-to-mid range surface-to-air defense missile system next year.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced the news in a statement on Saturday, saying the military had already deployed Pantsir-S and S-400 complexes in 2018 in Crimea, which rejoined Russia in a 2014 referendum from Ukraine.

“In 2019, the Aerospace Forces will receive the brand-new missile system, S-350 Vityaz, for the first time ever,” the statement reads, as Russia tries to replace its ageing S-300 system in a long-planned move.

Vityaz (Knight) is developed by Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defence Corporation.

The ministry further said that Pantsir-S and S-400 Triumf long-range air defense weapons had also been stationed in Russia’s Arctic region, the Kaliningrad exclave on the Baltic Sea, and in its easternmost Khabarovsk region, earlier this year.

On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised his military forces for carrying out a successful test launch of the cutting-edge Avangard hypersonic missile system, saying that Russia would deploy its first regiment of hypersonic nuclear-capable missiles next year.

North Korea's Kim vows more summits with South next year: Seoul
[DAWN] North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
vowed to meet the South's President Moon Jae-in "frequently" next year to discuss denuclearisation of the peninsula in a rare letter sent to Seoul, Moon's office said on Sunday.

The leader of the isolated North met with Moon three times this year ‐ twice at the border truce village of Panmunjom and once in the North's capital Pyongyang ‐ as a reconciliatory push gathered pace.

During Moon's visit to Pyongyang in September, Kim promised to pay a return visit to the South's capital Seoul "at an earliest date," sparking speculation he may visit by the end of this year.

But the much-anticipated trip has not yet materialised, which left the young ruler feeling "much regret," according to Kim's letter sent to mark the end of the year, Moon's front man said.

The North's leader "expressed a strong determination to visit Seoul while watching future situation," Kim Eui-kyeom told news hounds.

Kim Jong-un also "expressed an intention to meet with Moon frequently in 2019" to pursue peace and "solve the issue of denuclearising the peninsula together," the front man said.

Catalonian president calls for ‘credible, sincere’ talks with Madrid
[PRESSTV] Catalan President Quim Torra has urged the Spanish government to start a "credible, honest and bold dialogue" with Catalonia in order to find a political solution to the long-going dispute over independence.

In his traditional New Year's speech, Torra said that his government will continue to ask for "dialogue, negotiation and international mediation" in 2019.

The Catalan president said that a "big majority of the Catalan society, 80%, has built a consensus" on three big issues. "First, that we are and we feel republicans. Second, that we don't accept judicial repression to solve political and democratic questions. And third, that we want to exercise our right to self-determination," he explained.

In his speech, Torra announced that his government will recover social laws currently suspended by Spain's Constitutional Court.

The first cabinet meeting of the year, expected on January 8, will agree on the steps to recover those laws, affecting areas such women's equality, energy poverty, climate change or taxes on empty flats, nuclear plants or bank deposits.

ECC set to okay import of Azerbaijan fuel on credit
[DAWN] The government has called a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Tuesday to approve an agreement with Azerbaijan for fuel supply on credit and consider measures to stop rising urea prices despite import of the commodity.

Finance Minister Asad Umar will preside over the ECC meeting that would also review a status report on export of public sector wheat stocks, arrangement of funds for payment of dues to personnel of the Pakistain Machine Tool Factory and allocation of additional quantities of gas production from the Adhi gas field to the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited.

Informed sources told Dawn that Azerbaijan had offered to supply petroleum products to the Pakistain State Oil (PSO) through the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) on credit under a long-term agreement.

The two sides had entered into an inter-governmental agreement (IGA) in February 2017 for supply of a number of oil and gas products, including furnace oil, petrol, diesel and liquefied natural gas (LNG). The PSO and SOCAR are now expected to formally sign a commercial agreement for supply of motor gasoline (petrol) against a 4-6 month credit facility of $100-150 million.

US Navy seeks to develop hypersonic Weapons to catch-up with Russia, China
[PRESSTV] The US Navy has placed the development of hypersonic weapons on its "acquisition wish list" after Russia’s recent announcement of a successful missile test and planned its deployment in 2019 of an "invincible" strategic missile that can fly 27 times the speed of sound.

Highlighting the growing concerns of US military officials about Russian and Chinese leading advancements on a technology that may potentially pose the threat of making existing US missile defense systems obsolete, pro-military news outlet military.com further reported on Friday that US Air Force has also put a priority on hypersonic weapons.

According to the report, under a recently proposed plan, Chief of US Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson listed the Navy's intention to "develop and field an offensive hypersonic weapon by 2025" as a top priority.

Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov announced on Thursday that the country’s new missile, referred to as Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle, "essentially makes missile defenses useless," further insisting that "no anti-missile can knock it down."

#1  Why, Yes!, the US has been funding research on hypersonic weapons for decades.... except they just don't work as of yet. The technological hurdles are immense whether you consider the design of the engines or just finding some material that will not melt halfway to the target.
TL/DR: Pull the other leg... Hypersonic weapons have been the Weapons Of The Future™ for decades.

Greenpeace's 'Rainbow Warrior' hits the scrap yard
[Daily Caller] Greenpeace quietly admitted in November one of its "Rainbow Warrior" boats was "scrapped on a beaching yard in Bangladesh" ‐ a method it spent years campaigning against.
There is nothing quite like the hypocrisy of the social justice class.
"We have made a mistake, one that we have tried to correct," Greenpeace International, based in Amsterdam, admitted in mid-November, adding it allowed Rainbow Warrior II "to be scrapped on a beaching yard in Bangladesh, in a way that does not live up to the standards we set ourselves and campaigned with our allies to have adopted across the world."

However, the embarrassing admission from one of the world’s largest and most prominent environmental groups flew under the radar of major news outlets. Greenpeace quietly put out a press release on its international website, which few noticed.

Greenpeace International did not respond to The Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Indeed, Rainbow Warrior II’s fate is only the latest in a string of embarrassments and scandals to plague Greenpeace in recent years, including admitting in 2014 it had lost millions in donations betting on currency speculation.
How Soros-ey
That same year, Greenpeace came under fire from the Peruvian government for damaging the ancient Nazca Lines. Activists damaged the world-famous site with giant protest banners advocating for solar energy and calling for countries to fight global warming.
