-Lurid Crime Tales-
Washington DC hits 900 carjackings over one year on Thanksgiving Day
[JUSTTHENEWS] The Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced the nation’s capital has surpassed 900 carjackings over the past year as Americans.

The MPD’s carjacking dashboard shows 901 total year-to-date carjackings and only 157 year-to-date carjacking arrests. In all, 77% of carjackings committed in the federal district involved a firearm.

In addition, 66% of arrests involved a juvenile defendant, highlighting D.C.’s ongoing problem with youth crime at a time when the D.C. Attorney General is being criticized for his comparatively soft approach to youth crimes.

At an April community event, Attorney General Brian Schwalb (D.) told attendees that "kids are kids" and should be treated differently than adults when it comes to crime.

The MPD formed a carjacking task force in 2021 in order to combat the rise in this crime. Just recently, the city also provided free dashboard cameras to ride share and delivery vehicles that drive in D.C.’s high crime areas in an effort to curtail carjackings.

MPD advises D.C. residents to lock their cars, park in a safe area and stay alert of surroundings as the city experiences a rise in carjackings. This month Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a public emergency over the juvenile crime crisis alongside the opioid epidemic.

"Although each of these urgent situations are, to some extent, geographically concentrated, the nature of the two emergencies demands city-wide responses," Bowser said in a blurb.

Geographically concentrated, eh? One might suddenly wonder as to the demographics of this particular concentration. Or maybe it's something in the water.

-Great Cultural Revolution
The Left must get its violence under control. It's not going to like the counterreaction
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] When it comes to political violence, the Left has a problem.

The Right likewise has a problem, but there's no shortage of commentary regarding this exact topic. In fact, even the federal government is laser-focused on violence from the Right. In contrast, left-wing violence in the United States tends to go largely unnoticed, if not unpunished.

A word of advice from a historical perspective, for both parties: Get your people under control, embrace coexistence, and stop trying to "immanentize the eschaton" via violence. Because if you do manage to brute force the U.S. into adopting your preferred reality, the inevitable political counterreaction will be far worse than the thing you oppose today.

'Shame On You': Joe Biden gets booed and heckled on streets of Nantucket as protesters are kept away from president after interrupting his earlier shopping trip
Watch the video.
My bet is that's not shambling joe's powerful stride.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Protesters were kept about six blocks from President Biden on Saturday

  • Biden's motorcade even took a different route into town - one that avoided driving past a group of protestors gathered on the side of the road

  • Biden family's Nantucket stay at David Rubenstein

Over 2,500 NYPD cops have handed in their badges so far this year, forcing those who remain on the job to work 'inhumane amounts of overtime'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • A total of 2,516 NYPD cops have resigned so far this year

Trump serves Thanksgiving meal to Texas' Operation Lone Star Agents
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] On Sunday, former President Donald J. Trump spent the afternoon in Texas serving a meal to Operation Lone Star border agents to honor their service ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Trump was greeted with overwhelming support by the Texas National Guard, Texas Department of Public Safety, and US Border Patrol agents as he made his way into the hanger at South Texas International Airport in Edinburg. The 45th President thanked them for their unconditional dedication to the country, and also received an important presidential endorsement from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott
... governor of Texas. Abbott is a Republican. His 2014 Dem opponent, state senatrix Wendy Davis, thought the absolute, most pressing, most important issue facing the state was abortion. Abbott beat the pantyhose off her. His 2018 opponent, Lupe Valdez didn't dwell too heavily on abortion, but she lost too...
Video recorded by Trump's campaign team shows the 2024 presidential frontrunner serving meals and taking pictures with border agents. He shook hands and had meaningful discussions with agents who work tirelessly to protect the nation's borders amid an ongoing existential crisis created by President Biden's open-border policies.

The US service members swarmed Trump for a photo before he made his way outside the hanger to address the border crisis in a speech that was given in front of a machine gun, which added value to his recent motto: "Peace through strength."

Trump gains 30 GOP endorsements in South Carolina
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] On Saturday, former President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...
's campaign announced that he received 30 new endorsements from leaders in the South Carolina Republican party, including six state politicians who previously endorsed former Tim Scott (R-SC).

According to a blurb from the former president's team, Trump now has the endorsement of "over 80 current and former Republican officials endorsing his campaign" in South Carolina. That is more than any other GOP candidate, including former state Gov. Nikki Haley
...Trump administration's former ambassador to the UN. First woman to serve as Governor of South Carolina, and the second Indian-American governor in the country, after Bobby Jindal of Louisiana. At the age of 39, Haley was the youngest governor in the U.S., a distinction formerly held by Jindal. She is a Republican, which really grates on the Dems...
"Today’s announcement is in addition to the more than 250 grassroots leaders who endorsed President Trump in South Carolina in June," the statement added.

State Senator and Senate Banking and Insurance Committee Chairman Ronnie Cromer and State Representative and House Ways & Means Chairman Bruce Bannister are two who previously endorsed Scott and switched to Trump when he dropped out.

Cromer said, "South Carolina saw its best years under President Trump and the McMaster-Evette Administration." He added, "Tim Scott is a dear friend, and now that he is out of the race, I strongly urge South Carolina’s voters to join me in rallying behind President Trump."

Mitt Romney says he would vote for Democrat over Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy
Just like last time. Such a vindictive little man.
[NYPOST] Sen. Willard Mitt Romney, aka Pierre Delecto
...former governor of Massachussetts, the Publican nominee for president in 2012, now Senator from Utah. He is the son of the former governor of Michigan, George Romney, who himself ran for president after saving American Motors from failure, though not permanently. Romney has a record as a successful businessman, heading Bain Capital, and he rescued the 2002 Winter Olympics from the midst of bribery and mismanagement scandals. He is currently a trans Republican and a member in good standing of the Never Trump Party, attempting to assume the mantle of the late John McCain...
said he would vote for a Democrat over former President Trump or businessman Vivek Ramaswamy in a potential 2024 general election matchup.

"I’d be happy to support virtually any one of the Republicans, maybe not Vivek, but the others that are running would be acceptable to me and I’d be happy to vote for them," Romney said to CBS news host Norah O’Donnell in a clip which resurfaced online Saturday.

"I’d be happy to vote for a number of the Democrats too. I mean, it would be an upgrade from, in my opinion, from Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
and perhaps also from Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Gave an airbase and billions in military hardware to the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
and called it an "extraordinary success"...
," Romney added, without specifying which Democrats he had in mind.

The remarks were originally aired a month ago as part of a lengthy discussion between Romney and O’Donnell on a new book about the senator.
