Gavin Newsom Hit With Embarrassing Anniversary Reminder As 2024 Shadow Presidential Campaign Continues
[RedState] As an embarrassing reminder of that, this month is the 20th anniversary of Newsom's 10-year pledge to end homelessness, something he vowed to do as mayor of San Francisco in 2003:

As Newsom took over following the 2003 San Francisco mayoral election, the then-mayor-elect said that December he intended to "aggressively" make ending homelessness in his city his administration's top priority.

The plan involved a 10-year strategy to end chronic homelessness with "tens of millions" of federal dollars in funding to create 550 "supportive housing" units for the troubled homeless, SFGate reported at the time.
"If you build it, they will come"
Fast-forward to December of this year and the announcement of that strategy is now two decades old. San Francisco, along with the rest of California, is far from solving the problem.

In fact, the growing homeless population has become a central issue in California's political debate.

So central, in fact, that Newsom and San Francisco Mayor London Breed took a significant amount of heat even from the liberal press in the state during their rush to clean up San Fran's streets and hide the growing homeless population in November ahead of the all-important APEC gathering, where Biden and China's President Xi Jinping held a high stakes meeting.

As expected, things are back to normal in San Francisco now that the APEC conference is over, with yet another sobering reminder of how Democrats like Newsom are bad news coming courtesy of new statistics on the state of homelessness in California:

California's homeless population grew by 5.8 percent to 181,399 this year. This increase, reported in the federal government's latest count, comes as the state spends billions on the crisis, including more than $1 billion this year on housing and prevention programs.

Of California's 181,399 homeless, nearly 70 percent sleep outside—marking the highest unsheltered rate of all states, including those with mild climates such as Hawaii, Arizona, and Nevada. In California, more than 123,000 lack shelter on a given night, according to a Friday report from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Let's see. Biden's been president for three years now, and Newsom has been governor of California for four, with a state legislature that is overwhelmingly Democratic. One wonders who he'll blame the homeless crisis for next, although he will undoubtedly figure out a way to weave former POTUS Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis into his answer somehow.

Trump kicked off Colorado ballot in 14th Amendment case
[The Hill] Colorado’s highest court on Tuesday knocked former President Trump off the state’s Republican primary ballot under the 14th Amendment in a 4-3 ruling, making it the first state to block him from seeking the presidency because of his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.

The court put its ruling on hold until Jan. 4, so Trump can first seek review from the U.S. Supreme Court. Trump’s spokesperson quickly vowed to do so, meaning Trump’s name automatically remains on the ballot until the justices in Washington resolve the appeal.

In a major legal blow to Trump, the Colorado court affirmed he engaged in insurrection by inflaming his supporters with false claims of election fraud and directing them to the Capitol — preventing him from a second White House term under the 14th Amendment’s “insurrection clause.”

The state justices determined that the office of the president is covered under the insurrection clause, which specifically lists those who previously took oaths to support the Constitution as “a member of Congress,” “officer of the United States,” “member of any State legislature” or an “executive or judicial officer of any State.” The district court had ruled that the office of the president was not covered under the clause.

#15  From a great summation in CTH today:"...As long as President Trump appeals the decision to the Supreme Court, the appeals court stays their own ruling – essentially indefinitely. The Colorado primary ballots printed, and the primary election will be over, before the Supreme Court puts this on their docket.

In addition to the virtual guarantee the high court will overrule this political nonsense, SCOTUS can make the entire issue moot before them by following their own normal schedule for submissions, arguments, deliberation and opinions delivered by the court.

The Colorado appellate court knows this, that’s why they put this self-stay into their 4-3 ruling. It’s a politically correct way of giving the optics of telling their tribe, ‘hey we’re with you,’ without the ramifications of the political backlash. In other words, psychological lawfare stuff – intended for media consumption."

Yes, but not just that. It is harassment and interference with an election because it distracts the candidate and costs money to appeal. Maybe Trump should counter sue for those damages.

Queens man forged absentee ballots in Democratic primary as part of voter fraud scheme: DA
[NYPOST] A Queens man was arraigned Tuesday for allegedly requesting and submitting dozens of fraudulent absentee ballots ahead of the Democratic primary election in August 2022, the borough’s district attorney said.Abdul Rahman, 32, of 257th Street in Floral Park, could serve up to seven years in prison after a monster 140-count indictment outlined how he pulled off the voter fraud plot in an attempt to disenfranchise 118 voters.

"Every vote has to count," Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a statement.

"Election integrity is the foundation of a viable, working democracy," she continued.

"We will vigorously prosecute anyone who threatens in any way to undermine that integrity ... The integrity of elections will be upheld in this borough."

Prosecutors alleged that Richmond Hill resident Jordan Sandke went to his local polling place on Aug. 23, 2022, to vote in the Democratic primary.

But when he got there, poll workers said he couldn’t cast a ballot because he’d already requested an absentee.

When authorities looked into it, they found Sandke’s ballot application — which included his name, address and birthday — had been signed and dated Aug. 1.

And Rahman was listed as the person who would pick it up.

Of course, Sandke never requested, filled out or signed the application.

Also, he’d never met Rahman — and certainly never gave him the green light to pick up the ballot on his behalf.

As authorities continued to investigate, they found Rahman had gone to the Queens County Board of Elections to drop off 118 absentee ballot applications on Aug. 8.

He’d also designated himself as the person who would pick them up.

Of those, 32 were approved, Katz said. Rahman allegedly grabbed them the next day.

When law enforcement interviewed the voter fraud victims, they found that none of them had submitted the form or authorized Rahman to handle them.

For his alleged crimes, Rahman has been charged with 20 counts each of illegal voting, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, first-degree falsifying business records, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, second-degree falsifying business records and second-degree offering a false instrument for filing.

Biden campaign co-chair Veronica Escobar 'afraid' Democrats will get blame for border crisis. Really.
[NYPOST] One of President Biden’s re-election campaign co-chairs has said she worries that growing frustrations over the deteriorating situation at the southern border will hamper Democrats’ prospects in 2024.

"People are really frustrated. They want to see order. They want to see government manage situations," Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-Texas) told Politico in an interview published Tuesday.

"Unfortunately Democrats are getting the brunt of that right now, and people have brainwashed themselves into thinking that somehow Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...
solves this."

During fiscal year 2023, more than 2.47 million encounters were reported along the Mexico frontier — with more than 240,000 migrants colonists apprehended in October, the most recent month for which stats are available, according to data from US Customs and Border Protection.

That influx has put a strain on liberal states and cities, where border state governors have directed the new arrivals.

"You’re hearing Democrats in places like New York and Illinois sounding the alarm and in some cases sounding more like Republicans — I’m thinking about [New York City] Mayor Eric Adams
...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a few of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve...
," Escobar conceded.

"The fundamental problem is people want an easy fix. This is neither an easy issue, nor is there an easy fix."

Adams has pressed the Biden administration and the rest of the federal government to address the hundreds of thousands of migrants colonists pouring across the border and ease the strain on the Big Apple’s public resources.

Republicans have long pinned the blame on the White House, citing a litany of policy changes including scrapping the so-called "Remain in Mexico" policy — a Trump-era initiative that required migrants colonists seeking asylum to stay south of the border while their court cases played out.

Escobar, whose House district sits right next to the border and includes much of El Paso, believes Congress is more at fault.

"It is our job," she told Politico. "We have failed over and over again."

"I do worry that Democrats will get blamed simply because the president is in the White House," she added. "I hope not, but I’m afraid of that."
That would be the Democrat-controlled Senate? But the president is supposed to be the head of his party, so in the end the buck stops with him.
Last week, Escobar penned an op-ed in her local paper zinging Republicans, claiming they "have refused to collaborate with fellow wardheelers" and ripped their emphasis on border security as a "costly failure."

She also voiced skepticism about the ongoing negotiations between Senate Republicans and Democrats over a supplemental spending bill.

"There is no domestic issue more challenging for our country today than immigration, and there is no doubt that we must urgently address the issues at the border," Escobar wrote on X last week.

"The Senate’s secret talks that focus only on the border and not our broken immigration system are short-sighted."

On Monday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott
... governor of Texas. Abbott is a Republican. His 2014 Dem opponent, state senatrix Wendy Davis, thought the absolute, most pressing, most important issue facing the state was abortion. Abbott beat the pantyhose off her. His 2018 opponent, Lupe Valdez didn't dwell too heavily on abortion, but she lost too...
signed a bill into law that permits the Lone Star State to arrest illegal immigrants colonists.

Voters have generally given Biden low marks on immigration. For instance, only 38% of voters approved of his handling of the issue, according to a Harvard CAPS-Harris poll — while Monmouth University recorded just 26% approval of the president on immigration in their own survey.

Colonel McGregor: Biden has turned the US into a free-fall society
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

He ain't wrong...

[Regnum] America is on the brink of disaster due to the policies of President Joe Biden. This was stated by ex-adviser to the head of the Pentagon, Colonel Douglas McGregor, on his page on the social network X.

According to the officer, Europe looks to the head of the White House as a “living metaphor” for what has happened to the United States, which is in very sharp decline. The military man still believes that Biden’s decision to start a conflict in Ukraine was the most rash.

“We no longer control our borders or immigration. We don't suppress crime. The States have turned into a free-fall society, we don’t even know who we are,” McGregor opined.

As Regnum reported, the Ukrainian military is not even trained in the basics of strategy; the funds allocated by the United States will not help them take advantage of this skillfully, former chief of staff of the NATO military mission in Moscow, Captain First Rank Harry Tabakh, said in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Tatyana Popova on his personal YouTube channel.

There is growing dissatisfaction among Ukrainian soldiers over mounting casualties and ammunition shortages following a nearly two-year military conflict with Russia.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces militants are concerned about the much better equipment of the Russian army for combat operations. Ukrainians can only defend themselves in a grueling conflict; some even doubt the correctness of the orders of the commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

#2  No, Biden hasn't turned the US into a fallen state. The US has been dangling and choking for a while and Biden, instead of grabbing the legs and holding the US up to stop the choking, has grabbed the legs and pulled downwards to accelerate the death.
