Katsina State: Nigerian Army Says Troops Rescued 18 From Terrorists, Handed Them Over To State Gov’t; turbans threaten to marry kidnapped bride, sell 62 wedding guests.
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

The Brigade Commander, 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Katsina, Brig Gen. Oluremi Fadairo, said that the soldiers took a rescue operation to the bandits’ enclaves at Yan-Tumaki and Dan-Ali forests. He explained that the troops successfully engaged the terrorists in a gun battle, after which they successfully rescued the victims.

Fadairo then handed over the victims to the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr Nasiru Mu’azu.

Terrorists who kidnapped a bride and 62 wedding guests in Damari in the Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State have threatened to marry the bride and sell the other abductees if their families do not pay the ransom demanded to secure their release.

SaharaReporters had reported how the women were attacked and abducted by the terrorists when they were escorting the bride to her matrimonial home in Damari community. The victims were initially over 70, mostly friends of the bride. But some of them escaped when they jumped off the moving van after the terrorists hijacked the vehicle.

The Chairman of Dandume Local Government Area, Alhaji Basiru Musa, confirmed the report.

In a viral video seen on X by SaharaReporters, the terrorists filmed all their abductees and said they would marry some of them off to their members and sell the rest if the ransom of N100 million demanded is not paid.

Dressed in police uniform, the terrorist leader said they had a total of 63 captives with them.

“I am the one who abducted them, and I will not release them until the ransom we demanded is paid,” the terrorist leader said in the video.

“Anyone who thinks they can rescue them should try to do so.”

Some of the captives were spotted with AK-47 guns draped around their necks, while the bride was dressed in an army outfit. One of the kidnappers is heard saying, “Here is the bride dressed in army uniform.”

In the video, the captives are heard crying for help. They urge their relations to pay the terrorists the ransom demanded.

The driver of the vehicle that transported the wedding guests is also seen in the video holding a gun and pleading for the ransom to be paid.

According to Daily Trust, the bride's family confirmed that the terrorists demanded a ransom of N100 million for the release of all kidnap victims.

“They are asking for N100 million as ransom. None of us has ever seen that amount of money; so, I told them directly that we don’t have such funds,” Haruna Abdullahi, an uncle of the bride, said.

He further said the kidnappers told him they made the video to challenge the state governor, Dikko Umar Radda, who, according to them, was supposed to have promised to rescue the hostages.

“They said they made the video to demonstrate their seriousness to the governor,” Abdullahi said, expressing appreciation for the governor’s concern and promise to rescue the victims.

Abdullahi revealed that eight of his sisters and nine daughters were among the captives. Another family member identified as Zubairu said that the abductees included his wife, six children, and 13 relatives.

It’s interesting being only connected with the popular culture when one leaves the house. Our family television broke when I was seven; my baby brother bought a 13” B&W jobby when I was seventeen, so I went straight from Flipper, Lassie, and Gentle Ben to Soap and Saturday Night Live. I’m still puzzled by much I encounter, not having the referents.

Mr, Wife made a point of watching popular shows with the trailing daughters so that, despite spending their early years abroad, they’d be connected to contemporaneous American culture instead of turning out like President Obama.

51 terrorist attacks aimed at disrupting electoral process: Pakistan Army
[GEO.TV] The Pakistain Army said Thursday that 51 terrorist attacks took place in the lead-up to the general elections, aimed at disrupting the polling process.

"Despite 51 cowardly terrorist attacks, mostly in KP and Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
, aimed at disrupting the electoral process, the soldiers remained resolute and effectively ensured peace and security across Pakistain," the military’s media wing said in a statement.

The polling began at 8am, with complaints of the voting process beginning hours later at some polling stations; however, they ended at the scheduled time — 5pm.

Moreover, mobile and internet services were also disrupted throughout the day and were being restored post-midnight, prompting political parties to allege rigging.

In the statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said as many as 12 people — including 10 personnel of security forces and law enforcement agencies — embraced martyrdom, and 39 others have been injured in these attacks.

"Through proactive intelligence manoeuvres and swift action, many potential threats were neutralised, underscoring the unwavering commitment of our security agencies to protect the democratic rights of our citizens. During various operations, 5 murderous Moslems were also killed."

The ISPR added that the armed forces extend heartfelt felicitations to the nation on generally "peaceful and violence-free conduct of general elections".

"The armed forces alongside other Law Enforcement Agencies are proud to have played a pivotal role in providing security during the conduct of the sacred electoral process, in aid of civil power, and in accordance with the constitution of Pakistain."

With the deployment of 137,000 army personnel and civil armed forces at approximately 6,000 selected most sensitive polling stations and over 7800 quick response force teams (QRFs), a safe and secure environment for the public was ensured, the military added.

"Gratitude is owed to other law enforcement agencies that worked hand in hand with the armed forces to safeguard the democratic process. It is our fervent hope that our sacrifices will not be in vain and this election will serve as a catalyst for further strengthening democracy in Pakistain and that it will pave the way for the realisation of the aspirations of the people of Pakistain," it said.

The armed forces remain dedicated to upholding peace and security in the country and stand ready to provide unwavering support in safeguarding the democratic traditions of our state, the ISPR said.

Hamas Tunnel Found Under UNRWA's Gaza Headquarters
[NewsMax] Prolly just a commuter tunnel for work, play
During a meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Wednesday, the American diplomat was shown photos of a giant tunnel that was exposed in recent days under the central headquarters of UNRWA in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from both sides.

Netanyahu showed Blinken proof of the misuse of the UNRWA headquarters' underground premises for apparent terrorist tunneling purposes.

The tunnel that was revealed in the meeting was found in the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City. According to the Israel Defense Forces, it is believed to be one of Hamas' strategic tunnels.

This comes amid the ongoing revelations that staff of the U.N. relief agency for the Palestinians were actively involved in the Oct. 7 attack against Israel and have long been disseminating incitement against Israel through various platforms, including as teachers.

The Israel Defense Forces revealed on Wednesday a barred cell area in a major Hamas
...always the voice of sweet reason...
tunnel in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis that it said was used by the terror group to hold hostages.

The military said a total of 12 hostages were held in the tunnel at different times, three of whom have already returned to Israel.

In addition to the cell used to hold hostages, troops found a bathroom and a rest area for the turbans guarding the captives.

The IDF said senior Hamas officials had resided in the tunnel before it was repurposed to hold the hostages, and that troops recovered various items and weapons in the subterranean passage.

The military said the tunnel was built "in the heart of a civilian area in Khan Younis" and according to its estimates, millions of shekels were invested in its construction.

Troops of the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit and other special forces under the 98th Division raided the "strategic" underground network, which the IDF said was around one kilometer long (0.6 mile).

"The troops battled turbans in the tunnel, breached blast doors, and neutralized bombs," the IDF said, adding that the tunnel is part of a "branching underground labyrinth" that also connects to another tunnel where hostages were held, revealed by the IDF several weeks ago.

Palestinian opens fire at troops in West Bank, is shot dead — IDF
[IsraelTimes] A Paleostinian gunman who shot up troops near the West Bank town of Dayr Sharaf was rubbed out, the military and medics say.

The IDF says reservists of the 7037th Reserve Battalion operating at an army post near the town fired back at the gunman. According to the Rescuers Without Borders emergency service, he was killed by the gunfire.

The service says two more Paleostinians were maimed in the same incident, possibly by the assailant’s gunfire.

No soldiers were hurt, the IDF says. The service says a bullet hit the helmet of one of the troops, but he was unharmed.

Captured commander of Hamas elite unit urges militants to surrender like he did
[NYPOST] A commander of Hamas’ elite Nukhba unit who was captured in Gaza urged his fellow terrorists to give up the fight and surrender just like he and his men did, according to a new interrogation video released Thursday.

Muhammad Nasser Suleiman Abu Namer, a Hamas operative since 2009, was filmed speaking to Israel’s Shin Bet intelligence officers about his capture inside a tunnel in Khan Younis.

Despite being armed with guns and explosives, Abu Namer said he and two other Hamas fighters refused to open fire on the Israeli forces knocking on their door, Ynet reports.

“We sat in the room, we placed all the weapons outside,” Abu Namer said. “We sat and we waited. When the army arrived, we put up our hands and surrendered.”

The Nukhba commander said he and the two other Hamas members, Hamis Safi and Iyad al-Astal, had made the decision to surrender as soon as the army was approaching.

Asked if he had any advice for his fellow terrorists, Abu Namer said they should follow his example.

“I recommend to everyone to surrender, because your destiny otherwise is to die,” he said.

Abu Namer’s arrest and interrogation is the latest publicized by Shin Bet, who have released video of other Hamas operatives slamming their own organization and calling on the terror group to surrender to the IDF.

More than half of Gaza’s 2.3 million population has been driven by Israel’s military offensive toward the border with Egypt. Unable to leave the tiny Paleostinian territory, many are living in makeshift tent camps or overflowing U.N.-run shelters.

The Paleostinian corpse count from the war has surpassed 27,000 people, the Health Ministry in Gaza said. A quarter of Gaza’s residents are starving.

#1  When an alleged drone, allegedly made in Iran, allegedly operated by Iraq's PMF (that is allegedly "Iranian backed") detonated, allegedly in Jordan, but on the Syria border missed US mercenary contractors, CIA operatives and terrorists in-training but killed three National Guard troops,
one has to wonder.
Did the CIA or Mossad or MI6 pick up the parts of an Iranian designed drone? Drones are scattered all over Ukraine
after all. Did they then pack them into a crate and ship them to the border of Syria and Jordan, then put a demolition
charge in the crate. Then at the opportune time did the CIA detonate the crate so as to have a pretext for expanding war?
The crate detonated the very day after the US and Iraq had their very first sit down session to negotiate the withdraw
 of US troops from Iraq.

Separately, Asayish Forces arrested four members of ISIS cells and confiscated weapons in Al-Raqqah, where the arrested members carried out an attack yesterday, targeting Asayish members stationed at “Al-Maqbarah” checkpoint near Tel Al-Bay’ah to the east of Al-Raqqah city. The attack had left a member of Asayish Forces dead.
