Afghanistan
U.S. Condemns Release of 65 Bagram Prisoners
[Tolo News] The United States Forces-Afghanistan (USFOR-A) issued a statement Monday condemning the Afghan Attorney General's order to release 65 prisoners from Bagram prison.

In the statement, USFOR-A claims the releases violates agreements made between the U.S. and Afghanistan. The move is backdropped by worsening relations between Kabul and Washington over the past few months as President Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
... A former Baltimore restaurateur, now 12th and current President of Afghanistan, displacing the legitimate president Rabbani in December 2004. He was installed as the dominant political figure after the removal of the Taliban regime in late 2001 in a vain attempt to put a Pashtun face on the successor state to the Taliban. After the 2004 presidential election, he was declared president regardless of what the actual vote count was. He won a second, even more dubious, five-year-term after the 2009 presidential election. His grip on reality has been slipping steadily since around 2007, probably from heavy drug use...
enters his last few weeks in office and the NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
coalition continues to drawdown.

U.S. officials objected to the announcement that 88 prisoners from Bagram prison would be released by the Afghan government in January. The 65 detainees ordered released this week by the Attorney General's office are from that group.

Officials on the Review Board charged with overseeing releases said there was no evidence against the candidates and so they needed to be released in accordance with Afghan law. The Afghan National Directorate of Security and the Attorney General's office were also weighed in and have not stopped the releases from moving forward.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
USFOR-A in its statement on Monday maintained that materials were submitted by the U.S. proving that these prisoners were engaged in bully boy activities, and even directly responsible for coalition and Afghan casualties.

"The U.S. has, on several occasions, provided extensive information and evidence on each of the 88 detainees to the Afghan Review Board, the Afghan National Directorate of Security and the Attorney General's office," the statement read.

U.S. officials have warned that the released prisoners would likely return to the battlefield and continue to pose a threat to Afghan and foreign lives. The USFOR-A statement said the prisoners should be prosecuted in Afghan courts.

But U.S. and Afghan officials seem a world apart on the issue. Attorney General Spokesman Basir Azizi has called the 65 detainees expected to be released "innocent", despite their having never sat in front of a judge or jury.

Azizi said 23 more detainees are currently under review for potential release.

Karzai Will Not Sign Security Agreement
[An Nahar] The U.S. intelligence chief said Tuesday he does not expect Afghanistan's Caped President Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
His grip on reality has been slipping steadily since around 2007, probably from heavy drug use...
to sign a security agreement with the United States that would allow American troops to stay after 2014.

Washington has repeatedly appealed to Karzai to sign the bilateral security agreement (BSA) negotiated last year but James Clapper, director of national intelligence, said he had given up hope that the Afghan president would endorse the deal.

"Well, obviously, it takes two to sign this," Clapper told the Senate Armed Services Committee.

"And it's my own view, not necessarily company policy, ...I don't believe President Karzai is going to sign it," he said.

His comments were the most explicit yet by a senior U.S. official acknowledging the bleak prospects of Karzai backing the agreement.

Senator Carl Levin
...Democrat Senator-for-Life from Michigan. He has been in the Senate since 1979. Prior to that he was president of the Detroit city council and Mayor Coleman Young's right-hand man. He is currently the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Armed Services...
, chairman of the committee, asked Clapper if it would be better for the U.S. government to wait for the next Afghan president to sign the deal after the country's April elections.

Clapper said that would be a policy decision and not up to him but he said such a move could "have a salutary effect."

The United States favors leaving about 10,000 troops in Afghanistan after this year to help train Afghan forces and counter al-Qaeda turbans and its allies.

The delay in signing the security agreement, which would set up a legal framework for foreign troops to stay post-2014, has created uncertainty and undermined confidence among Afghans, Clapper said.

"The effect already of the delay has been negative in terms of the impact on the economy, not to mention I think the psychological impact," he said.

#5  I think the tradition is that once it is settled the occupying army is leaving, the cooperating tribe take what tribute and graft they have rabbited and as quickly as possible attempt to purchase a peace with the opposition tribe and form a combined front against the occupying force. The idea is that the coop has to say wow we were wrong about them and the oppo survivors get paid and get to say we were right. Both team up, the coop being rested and equipped and the oppo being battle tested.

They then both hit the occupying forces as they withdraw - withdrawal for whatever reason - to cause as much damage and luahu snakbars as possible, and claim victory over the invaders.

Peace lasts until one side claims too much victory points then they scrap it out among themselves.

Interior Ministry denies torture, ill-treatment of detainees
[Egypt Independent] The Interior Ministry denied Tuesday news reports about the torture or ill-treatment of detainees in prisons.
"Wudn't us."
"The Interior Ministry stresses that what news websites, programs and media outlets circulate about complaints by detainees pending investigation over torture or ill-treatment is a void claim," the statement read.

The Ministry is ready to receive any complaint from any prisoner and take decisive action against violators, the statement added.

Many human rights
When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much...
organizations have visited prisons and checked on aspects of care provided to them, said the statement.

It added the Ministry responds to the remarks made by prisoners, the last of which was the transfer of a number of prisoners to different prisons to ease the suffering of their families who visit them.

"The Ministry reaffirms that it welcomes any request from any human rights organization, whether official or NGO, to visit the Egyptian prisons and verify the reality of the situation there," the statement read.

"The Ministry calls on media...to verify such claims, before circulating them, through the Ministry's concerned departments," the statement said.

Porous borders threaten Tunisia
[MAGHAREBIA] The smuggling of goods across Tunisia's mostly non-existent borders with Libya and Algeria hurts the economy; the easy movement of drugs, weapons, and explosives hurts security. Now that a new government is in place, local and international experts say it is time for action.

Finding solutions to border smuggling and parallel trade must be a priority for the new Tunisian government, labour leaders, customs agents and international banking officials agreed at a recent Tunis conference.

Mehdi Jomaa and his new cabinet must address "smuggling's effects on the economy, jobs and on the environment in which we live", Tunisian Union of Industry (UTICA) chief Wided Bouchamaoui said at a World Bank forum on Wednesday (February 5th).

Opposition mounts after Congress makes insulting it a crime
[Libya Herald] Anger is rising on social media sites and among political activists at the amendment to the Penal Law passed a week ago by the General National Congress (GNC) imposing a one-year jail term for anyone seen to insult Congress, the government, the judicial institutions or any of their members. Insulting the flag and the state logo is also to be a crime.

The Penal Law already made it an offence to deliberately publish false news that was hostile to the 17 February Revolution.

"I resolutely oppose this amendment and there should be a discussion between the civil and political powers to discuss what was passed," leading political activist Farida Allaghi told the Libya Herald. "Congress did not bother to talk with civil society organizations about this decision beforehand".

Allaghi called upon the Supreme Council for Liberties to quickly condemn the amendment. The right to free expression freely had to be protected and the needed to be a popular movement to such attacks on it.

However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
independent Congressman for Zawiya Said Jarjar told this paper that the law was to protect rights and was not intended to target individuals. He insisted, as a member of the Judicial Authorities and Justice Committee of Congress, that the law permitted people to criticise and state an opinion in a proper way so long as they did not lie in order to cause chaos.

Those who spread false and incorrect news should be placed in durance vile
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
by the courts to protect the stability of the state, Jarjar said. Everyone had to stick to the truth, he stressed.

The amendment does not appear to fit with the GNC's statement issued on Sunday on the demonstrations against it continuing in office.

Expressing satisfaction that they were peaceful and stating that that a committee is being set up to draw up an amendment to 2011 Constitutional Declaration to allow a presidential and fresh congressional elections if the constitution-drafting committee is not on track to finish its work by mid May, it also noted that the declaration guaranteed freedom of speech and the right to demonstrate. It said that it supported them.

Other points in Sunday's statement included that the Constitutional Committee would be fully independent of Congress and that the Presidency of the General Staff take should steps against any military group violating military regulations.

Bangladesh
Hefazat warns against an 'unlawful' force in media
[Dhaka Tribune] Hefajat-e-Islam
...a madrassa-based false nose and mustache of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, formed in 2010 to protest against secular education. In 2011 demonstrated violentyly against women's rights and in 2013 held large rallies demanding capital punishment of Shahbag Square protesters and banning women working outside the home...
leaders in Chittagong yesterday alleged that a vested interest in the media had been running a propaganda against the group, the Qawmi madrasa system and the Islamic scholars with an ill-motive to instigate communal unrest.

As a result, an "unlawful" force would get the chance to create trouble, the leaders said at a presser held at the auditorium of the Chittagong Metropolitan Union of Journalists.

Hefazat Organising Secretary Azizul Haque Islamabadi read out a written statement at the conference on behalf of Secretary General Junaid Babunagari.

The statement said a private television had recently broadcasted a controversial report named "Hefazatnama'' aiming to confuse people. The statement added that it was part of "information-terrorism" by anti-Islamic quarters from home and abroad.

The statement also said a number of other media houses -- both electronic and print -- had followed suit by publishing false and fabricated information against Hefazat, Qwami madrasa and Islamic scholars.

The leaders of the Chittagong-based Islamist outfit urged the government to take legal action against those media houses.

Babunagari said Hefazat was a non-political organization and its movement was not for implementing the agenda of any party; rather it was for implementing of the ideals of Allah and Prophet Muhammad.

He said Hefazat would hold an Islamic conference at Chittagong's Hathazari -- the home of Hefazat on February 14 and a two-day "Shane Risalat Sammelan" (an Islamic conference) on April 3-4.

Selim urges Mamata not to shelter 'militants'
[Dhaka Tribune] Senior Awami League leader Sheikh Selim has urged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee not to shelter Bangladeshi "terrorists."

He also requested her and the Indian government to take necessary steps so that the Bangladeshi "forces of Evil and terrorists" could not get any scope to operate in their country.

Selim, also Presidium member of the ruling AL, made the statement at an unscheduled discussion in parliament.

Referring to the recent remarks by CPM leader of West Bengal Biman Basu, the AL leader said the "forces of Evil and terrorists" of Jamaat-Shibir had taken the protection of Ahmed Hassan, the local representative of Trinamool Congress and Naya Diganta correspondent (Bangladeshi newspaper), at the time of joint forces' operation in Satkhira.

Selim alleged that with the help of the BNP-Jamaat, separatists had announced war against the Indian government. But the government of Prime Minister the loathesome Sheikh Hasina
...Bangla dynastic politician and current Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She has been the President of the Bangla Awami League since the Lower Paleolithic. She is the eldest of five children of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangla. Her party defeated the BNP-led Four-Party Alliance in the 2008 parliamentary elections. She has once before held the office, from 1996 to 2001, when she was defeated in a landslide. She and the head of the BNP, Khaleda Zia show such blind animosity toward each other that they are known as the Battling Begums..
had not allowed anyone including the Ulfa who were involved in separatist movements.

He also said none would be able to locate a separatist on the land of Bangladesh.

"It is a matter of regret that the Bangladeshi forces of Evil and turbans enjoy shelter in India," the former minister said.

"Now that the India-Bangladesh relation is very excellent, we have to be aware about those who want to fissure it."

Selim said: "I request Mamata Banerjee not to assist the Bangladeshi bad boys. Please arrest them and hand over to our government. They are forces of Evil and terrorists. They have no country and have networks all over the world. They may put India in trouble."

He also urged Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Sing to take effective steps to address the issue.

The elderly and those mired in unbelief must perish. He will likewise turn on his worshipful followers and slay them with his 'pen, phone, or ton of bricks.' They are responsible for 'income inequality' and racism, therefore they must be eliminated.

India-Pakistan
Government, TTP committees hold informal meeting
[DAWN] The committees, formed by the government and the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) to broker a peace pact between the two sides, held an informal meeting at some holy man's guesthouse an undisclosed location in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, agenda for Wednesday's formal meeting was discussed, said a blurb issued after the meeting.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Affairs Irfan Siddqui, who is coordinator of the government committee, said that response from the TTP Political Shura over the government's conditions was 'satisfactory.'

Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam
...the political wing of the Pak Taliban...
-Sami (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq
...the Godfather of the Taliban, leader of his own faction of the JUI. Known as Mullah Sandwich for his habit of having two young boys at a time...
, who is a member of the committee nominated by the TTP, said that Taliban's demands were placed in front of government negotiators, adding that attempts at a ceasefire would be made in the first stage of dialogue.

The meeting was held after Professor Ibrahim and Maulana Yousuf Shah returned from North Wazoo after meeting with the TTP's political shura and receiving their response regarding the demands of the government.

After meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
earlier on Monday, Irfan Siddiqui reiterated that the government was fully committed to restoring peace in the country and would leave no stone unturned to achieve this objective.

However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
a bigwig of the prime minister office, when contacted, said that "frankly speaking the top leadership of the government isn't that hopeful. But one can expect that the TTP leadership positively responds to the government's offer for talks."

Meanwhile,
...back at the revival hall, the congregants were being herded into the paddy wagon...
Maulana Abdul Aziz, who was not present at the meeting, said that he was not informed of today's as well as tomorrow's formal meeting of the two committees.

Earlier on Friday last week, Maulana Aziz had declared at a presser that he would no longer take part in negotiations between the two sides until the condition of imposing Islamic laws was made part of the dialogue.

But, Maulana Yousuf Shah said the following day that it was likely that the chief holy man of Lal Masjid would continue the work with the TTP committee.

Peace process heading in right direction: JUI-F leader
[DAWN] Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam
...the political wing of the Pak Taliban...
-Fazl leader Mufti Kifayatullah on Monday said the grinding of the peace processor was heading for success and the nation would soon hear a good news in this respect.

"(Pak) Taliban are serious about holding talks with the government. I'm confident that the dialogue between the committees of the two sides will soon reach a positive conclusion," he told a news conference at the Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
Press Club. The JUI-F leader said the government's committee needed to show patience and play an effective role in the negotiation process with Taliban in order to resolve the issues amicably.

He said the impression about deadlock in talks was wrong and instead, grinding of the peace processor was very smooth and was heading for progress.

Mr Kifayatullah said it was a good chance to resolve the issues otherwise the situation would worsen in future as military operations were no solution to problems.

He said peace was the basic need for all, especially for the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central...
, who had suffered a lot over last many years.

The JUI-F leader said use of force was no solution to problems and instead, it was the need of the hour to resolve issues through peaceful means, especially dialogue, for durable peace in the region.

"Any deadlock in negotiations between the government and the (Pak) Taliban will prove detrimental for the country," he said.

Mr Kifayatullah said the US wanted to strengthen India to have supremacy all over the region as the two were anti-Pakistain.

He warned that if another military operation was launched, rustics would move Afghanistan complicating things instead of improving them.

The JUI-F leader said it would be very difficult to counter the US hegemony in the region if Fata was subjected to another military action.

He said he favoured peace talks as dialogue was the only solution to security crisis in the country.

Mr Kifayatullah urged all stakeholders to show 'decency' saying there was no chance of mistake on part of both sides (government and Pak Taliban) under the current circumstances.

He said the country's Constitution was completely Islamic and had complete room for enforcement of Shariah in the country.

In West Bank Settlements, Israeli Jobs Are Double-Edged Sword
[NYT] MISHOR ADUMIM INDUSTRIAL ZONE, West Bank -- The personal conflict that thousands of Palestinians face working for Israeli companies in the occupied West Bank is particularly stark for Hassan Jalaita, who for 18 years has repaired Israeli Army jeeps at the Zarfati garage here.
Hassan would rather work shorter hours, or not work at all. He longs to write poetry or start his own business. For now however, he must settle for bitching, moaning, and biting the hand that feeds him.
Those are the very same jeeps that confront Mr. Jalaita at the checkpoint he crosses each morning. The same ones that sweep through villages where his friends and relatives live. But those jeeps also help pay his $1,471 monthly salary at Zarfati, more than triple the minimum wage in Palestinian areas of the West Bank, where a 19 percent unemployment rate here and lack of labor laws make finding a decent job difficult.
19 percent unemployment, same as here in the States.
"I feel like I'm not a human being -- we are serving the occupation," said Mr. Jalaita, 47, a father of five, two of them university students. "I am forced to work here because I have a house, I have a family.
House, family, university students... And not a word about how he is donating his excess income and offspring to the cause. Methinks you doth protest too much, sirrah.
Tomorrow, if there is another place to work, if there is work in Palestine, I will do it."

#5  Much of this, the deployment of two 40-plus-year-old ships, is for domestic consumption.

That said, Iran has developed its asymmetric/unconventional-warfare response. That's going to cause problems if not dealt with proactively.
Posted by: Pappy || 02/12/2014 13:49 Comments || Top||

#6  How's this for a bit unconventional?

"Great Satan, if any of your running dog military units come within 100 miles, we will destroy them."

"You would not dare attack the United States Military."

"No, you do not understand. We will destroy our own ships and blame you."

#7  Again, a lot of this bluster is for domestic consumption.

Without going into a lot of detail here, it will probably mean that Iran will 'destroy its own', though not just necessarily the suicide-boat route. There may have to be some proactive/pre-emptive measures taken.

#8  Honestly I'll be impressed if they make it within fifty miles of the East Coast without a major ship casualty. Lets see how well they and their ships do in heavy oceans. They better have packed foul weather gear.

#10  Rising Iran = Rising China = Rising ??????? = want credibility as a Great Power + Globalist-desired future OWG Co-Superpower in the lead of various OWG Global Federal Unions.

Unlike Rising China, Rising Iran doth not haveth any known or verified NucWeapons + is NOT a member of the "Nuclear Club", at least not yet.

Iran's "ace" in case of major war agz the US-Allies remains soon-to-be-Nukulaar third-party MilTerr Groups, e.g. Hezbollah + pro-Iran independents, + any internal Political Waffling among enemy or poten enemy Govts-Leaders, e.g. "red line" busting, alleged anti-US Marxist-Anarchist-Globalist POTUS Bammer.

E.G. VOICE OF RUSSIA > US: INTERNAL TERRORIST ATTACKS MAY ENGULF THE COUNTRY.

BE IT AS THE WORLD'S FIRST ISLAMIC GLOBAL NUCLEAR SUPERPOWER PAR OR SUPERIOR TO THE USA, + AS POST-SAUDI/KSA "DEFENDER OF THE ISLAMIC FAITH + MUSLIM HOLY PLACES", OR AS PRINCIPAL-LEADER OF ONE OF MORE OWG GLOBAL FEDERAL UNIONS, IRAN W-I-L-L NEED NUKE WEAPONS.

ITS FOR THE KIDDIES, NEO-PERSIANISM + THE CALIPHATE.

Persia's now Iran's threat to the Eastern Roman Empire + Central Asia didn't end wid the Islamic conquest or the Turkey-based Ottoman Empire, SO WHY SHOULD IT BE DIFFERENT WID POST-COLD WAR, POST-9-11, POST-GWOT, ETC. OWG AMERIKA.

Pesky Persians have gotta be Pesky - its the law.

U.S. spy chief calls Syria 'apocalyptic disaster'
[Rooters] The top U.S. intelligence chief said on Tuesday the war in Syria had created an "apocalyptic disaster" and said he was convinced that documents alleging torture and murder in the conflict were authentic.
But no different from 'torture and murder' found in other conflicts throughout recorded history.
National Intelligence Director James Clapper Was asked by Senator John McCain during a Senate hearing whether he had seen the documents, published by an array of media outlets including CNN, as potential proof of atrocities by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government.

Clapper said he had, and that he believed they were real.
Why should he not believe them? They were not written by him.
"They're terrible. And when you consider the humanitarian disaster in addition to the 2.5 million refugees, the 6.5 million or 7 million that are internally displaced, the 134,000 plus people that have been killed, it is an apocalyptic disaster," he said.
All war is terrible.

#1  A National Intelligence Director, with no real authority over US national intelligence, asked to comment on open-source documents, by a Senator whose agenda on Syria is well known.

Should've done this on the View with Whoopie and Babs, instead of in a Senate hearing.

#3  The big question is what can the US do? Both sides seem unwilling to listen to complaints about humanitarian problems. Both sides seem like total sh*ts. If the US goes in, guns blazing, all it will do is add to the civilian death toll.

#5  Who is James Clapper Was, you say? Well he goes on to say this:

"Somewhere in the neighborhood of between 20,000 and maybe up to a top range of 26,000 we regard as extremists," he said. "And they are disproportionately influential because they are among the most effective fighters on the battlefield."

Funny, I thought influence was directly proportional to effectiveness.

Obama: Russia Must Make Syria Comply with Chemical Arms Deal
[An Nahar] U.S. President Barack Obama
I am the change that you seek...
warned Tuesday that Russia would be to blame for keeping aid from desperate Syrian civilians if it blocked a U.N. resolution designed to lift the siege of Homs.

Obama also heaped pressure on the Kremlin as U.S. concern grows about the pace of Syrian compliance with a deal to hand over its chemical weapons stocks for destruction.

Obama's tough line came with President Vladimir Putin
...Second and fourth President of the Russian Federation and the first to remain sober. Putin is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from polonium poisoning. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to Putin. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead...
's government focused on the Winter Olympics in Sochi, but fighting its corner, and that of its ally Syria, at the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
.

He branded the Kremlin as a "holdout" against a Security Council resolution which would allow the delivery of food, shelter, medical aid and water to Homs and other cities where thousands of civilians are trapped by fighting.

"There is great unanimity among most of the Security Council on this resolution," Obama said.

He said Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
had told Russia that "they cannot say that they are concerned about the well-being of the Syrian people when they are starving civilians."

"It is not just the Syrians that are responsible, the Russians (are) as well if they are blocking this kind of resolution," Obama said at a White House presser with French President Francois Hollande
...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist...
.

Western states want Russia to back a draft resolution which calls on all parties to "immediately end the sieges of the Old City of Homs" and other Syrian cities.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said though that the draft was "absolutely unacceptable," because it contained an ultimatum for the government of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Despoiler of Deraa...
.

"Instead of engaging in everyday, meticulous work to resolve problems that block deliveries of humanitarian aid, they see a new resolution as some kind of simplistic solution," he said.

Obama Vows 'Ton of Bricks' Pain for Iran Sanctions Violators
[An Nahar] President Barack Obama
Because I won...
said Tuesday that foreign firms testing commercial prospects in Iran did so at their own peril and vowed to come down like a "ton of bricks" on sanctions violators.

Obama spoke alongside French President Francois Hollande
...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist...
a week after a large French business delegation traveled to Tehran to test opportunities that could be opened by the easing of Western sanctions.

"Businesses may be exploring -- are there some possibilities to get in sooner rather than later if and when there is an actual agreement to be had?" Obama said.

"But I can tell you that they do so at their own peril right now. Because we will come down on them like a ton of bricks."

Hollande, meanwhile, said that he did not control French corporations but had made clear sanctions on Iran would not be dismantled until a final deal on Iran's nuclear program had been reached.
