Taliban commander reveals new info regarding the ex-leader Mullah Mansoor’s death
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A senior Taliban
...Arabic for students...
commander'>Taliban Überstürmbannführer
has made new revelations regarding the death of the former commander of the group Mullah Akhtar Mansoor.

The commander who has wished not to be named has told The New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
that Mullah Mansoor ’knew something was happen’ before the dronezap claimed his life.

He said "Pakistain was making very strong demands."

Without providing further information regarding the demands, the former commander said "Mansour was saying you cannot force me on everything. I am running the insurgency, doing the fighting and taking casualties and you cannot force us."

Mullah Mansoor was killed in an Arclight airstrike on 21st May last year as he was travelling in a vehicle with a Pak passport.

He was believed to be more adept at managing money and was on his way back from a visit to Iran when he was targeted by the US forces in Afghanistan with an aerial strike.

According to reports, Mullah Mansoor had visited Iran to discuss with the country’s authorities regarding the growing issue of the Islamic State

#1  "Pakistain was making very strong demands."

Mansour didn't want to wear the leash, so Pak intel conveniently and discreetly handed Mullah's itinerary over to the Klingons?

Journalist detained without charge in Puntland
[Garowe Online] Authorities in Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...

Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
Omar, who works for the news website Horseed Media and the privately owned Somali Cable TV channel, on August 6, 2017, in Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland, a semi-autonomous region of Somalia, according to a witness, press freedom advocates, and media reports.

Jama Deperani, a Somali Cable TV journalist who witnessed the arrest, told CPJ that police refused to provide any justification for the arrest, telling him and Omar only that they were acting on official government orders. They refused to say who had issued the orders, Jama said.

ISIS plot to bomb airliner raises serious questions
[FoxNews] The most sophisticated terror plot ever attempted on Australian soil – to bring down an Etihad airline leaving Sydney airport – is now known to have been planned, directed and even supplied directly by ISIS.

Not only did the instructions for the attack come directly from commanders in the terror group – but the military-grade plastic explosives used to build the bomb were sent via airmail. They were shipped from Turkey to Australia by commercial air cargo, most probably in a passenger jet.

That high-grade explosives were so easily sent via airmail, halfway across the world will have alarm bells ringing in Western security agencies. Plastic explosives are hard to detect, but newer x-ray machines usually have the capacity to find them, raising questions about how were they disguised.

The original plot was disrupted by Australian security services on July 29, following a tip from a foreign intelligence service. The plotters, who have now been arrested and charged, were brothers Khaled and Mahmoud Khayat. It’s believed they were recruited by another brother, Tarek Khayat, who is an ISIS commander in Syria.

They received the explosives in Sydney along with other components needed to build the bomb, including detonators. Then, with instructions from an ISIS commander, put the device together.

The brothers put it in luggage and went to the airport, but for reasons that are unknown abandoned the plan before passing through security. It’s alleged they had placed the bomb in a third brother’s bag without his knowledge. Australian police claim the bomb would never have passed through airport security.

Instead, the brothers began working on a chemical-dispersion device to release hydrogen sulfide, a highly toxic gas.

The plot is clear evidence that ISIS is getting smarter about circumventing Western security – and, as they lose territory in Iraq and Syria, are looking at increasingly varied ways to attack Western targets – and recruit fighters.

Spain could top Greece in migrant sea arrivals: IOM
[AlAhram] Spain could overtake Greece this year in the number of migrants colonists arriving by sea, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said Thursday, coming shore on boats and even jet-skis.

Holidaymakers on a beach in southern Spain Wednesday were stunned when a black rubber boat full of migrants colonists reached the shore, its occupants jumping out and running away as scores of sun-worshippers looked on.

On the same day, 12 migrants colonists arrived in waters off the Spanish territory of Ceuta in northern Morocco on jet-skis, with one -- a 28-year-old man from Guinea -- drowning before he could be rescued, authorities said.

India-Pakistan
India trying to convert Kashmir into a Muslim minority region: FO
[DAWN] Condemning Indian atrocities in India-held Kashmire, the Foreign Office (FO) on Thursday alleged that India was trying to convert the region into a Moslem minority region.

"Indian forces are committing crimes against humanity which have resulted in the deaths of 15 innocent people in the past week," FO spokesperson Nafees Zakaria stated in the weekly briefing.

India is in grave violation of the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
Security Council Resolution on Jammu & Kashmire, UN Charter on Human Rights, said Zakaria.

Earlier this week, the Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh was also summoned over ceasefire violations by India.

Zakaria, on Thursday, appreciated the arrival of the speaker of the South Korean National Assembly, Chung Sye-Kyun, who met the incumbent Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif and "expressed keen interest in Korean investments in Pakistain and deepening economic cooperation."

The spokesperson condemned Wednesday's kaboom in Dir which led to four army personnel being martyred.

HRW: Iraq arrests lawyers defending Islamic State suspects
[Iraq News] Iraqi authorities have issued arrest warrants since July 24th for 15 private lawyers whom they accuse of working in the past as judges at courts run by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said Thursday.

The organization said that the suspected lawyers represented Islamic State members before official Iraqi courts. "While lawyers are not immune from prosecution if they engage in criminal activity, they should not be prosecuted for doing their job as lawyers, nor should the authorities associate them with their clients’ cause simply because they represented them," a report by the organization said, saying that the situation arouses fears that authorities were intimidating the lawyers to repel them from representing IS suspects.

"The authorities should immediately explain why they are detaining and charging these lawyers," said Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East director at Human Rights Watch. "They need to make it clear that Iraqi lawyers should not be afraid to defend ISIS suspects."

HRW said a senior judge told its workers on August 5th that his court had gathered evidence, including witness testimony, that the 15 defense lawyers had worked as lawyers in IS courts in djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
"Human Rights Watch researchers observed two trials in which defendants had a state-appointed lawyer. The lawyers did not speak once during the hearings, with the judge and the court stenographer directly questioning the defendant,"the report said.

Revealing details of Gaza tunnel-thwarting barrier, IDF says it could spark war
[IsraelTimes] Army warns Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", not to attack construction of underground protection system, says it will be built ’at any price’

The construction of Israel’s underground security barrier aimed at countering the Hamas terror group’s attack tunnels is picking up speed, the head of the IDF’s Southern Command said Wednesday, with hundreds of workers operating around the clock on the massive engineering project.

Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir said the military was concerned that the construction on the barrier could spark a conflict with Hamas. The terror group sees its tunnels as a central weapon in the fight against Israel and the Defense Ministry’s barrier presents a threat to them.

“We hope they don’t try to challenge us,” he said.

Another military official said on Thursday that the army does not believe Hamas has any justification -- "ethical, moral or military" -- to prevent Israel from building a protective barrier. It will therefore not tolerate any attempts by the terror group to interfere with its construction, the official said.

Waqf says Israel didn’t damage any historic items on Temple Mount
The lie has already gone round the world, now truth has finally finished tying her running shoes.
[IsraelTimes] Nonetheless, a technical committee, formed during recent conflict over holy site, condemns what it calls ’unjustified searches’ by Israel.

The Jerusalem Waqf said on Wednesday that when Israeli security services conducted searches on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem following a shooting attack at the site, they did not damage or steal any historical items.

Israeli police closed down the Temple Mount on July 14 after three Arab Israelis smuggled guns into the compound and used them to shoot two coppers to death.

The shutdown lasted for two days while police investigated the incident. Israel then reopened the site with newly installed metal detectors and cameras -- security measures that led to two weeks of protests by Paleostinians. The measures were eventually removed.

The Waqf, a Jordanian government institution that administers the Temple Mount, known to Moslems as the Haram al-Sharif, convened a technical committee to evaluate any damage caused by the Israeli police during the crisis.

On Wednesday the committee released its report, which said that Israeli forces had not damaged or stolen any historical objects or documents at the site, which includes mosques, museums and libraries that house Islamic artifacts.

"There are no deficiencies of historical value in the safety boxes, inventory or exhibits," the report said.

However,
the way to a man's heart remains through his stomach...
the report did say Israel had rummaged through and possibly copied computer files and broken into private lockers in order to carry out what it called "unjustified searches."

During the searches Israeli police found several weapons, but no guns or serious explosives, Jerusalem Police Chief Yoram Halevi said.

"We found dozens of knives, slingshots, cudgels, spikes, inciting material, unwent kaboom! munitions, stun grenades, binoculars -- but we haven’t yet found caches of live ammunition," he told Army Radio at the time.

Theft and kidnapping ravages north Aleppo as Erdogan’s Syrian caliphate experiment fails
[AlMasdar] Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) authorities in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
-occupied northern Aleppo have issued a statement banning their fighters from wearing balaclava face masks, threatening to sue forces of Evil who disobey the directive.

The statement has been issued in response to a theft and robbery epidemic that is plaguing the town of Jarabulus and its surrounding area (currently held by Turkey-backed hard boys); it is reported that such acts are constantly being carried out by men wearing masks (like the ones worn by rebels) who can never be identified.

This is yet another blow to the political validity of Erdogan’s Islamist protectorate in northern Syria and comes not longer after 500 al-Waer residents that originally opted exile in Turkey-occupied northern Aleppo later chose to return to government-held areas in Homs because the conditions were so depraved in the neo-Ottoman enclave.

This latest development offers good insight into the moral character of the "moderate" rebels under Ottoman Turkish military guidance.

To this end it can be understood that FSA forces of Evil serving in the Turkey-led rebel coalition are mercenaries (paid by the Ottoman Turkish foreign office) and many of them have strong jihadist leanings, believing in concepts of justifiable looting (including the kidnapping of humans, namely women) due to their self-perceived service in God’s name.

Syrian Kurds: 17 Indonesians Who Escaped IS Leave Syria
[AnNahar] A group of 17 Indonesians who had joined the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group in the northern Syrian city of Raqqa have been handed over to representatives of their country and have left Syria, a local Kurdish official and a spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

According to the official, Omar Alloush, the Indonesian nationals included men, women and kiddies. They were handed over on Tuesday at a Syria-Iraq border crossing. They had been asking to be sent back home, he said.

Spokeswoman Nisreen Abdullah from the Women's Protection Units also confirmed the handover. The identities of the Indonesians were not immediately available and Iraqi officials could not confirm the report.

Lalu Muhammad Iqbal, the director of Indonesian citizen protection at the country's foreign ministry, said there has been "communication between the Indonesian side with various parties that control the territory of Syria" including with the North Syrian Kurdish Authority linked to the 17 Indonesians.

He said the Indonesian government in its initial discussions obtained information that the group were not fighters, some had spent most of their time in Syria in IS jails or other isolated conditions, and had fled Raqqa with the help of a third party on June 10.

"Our communication with these parties is more directed to the humanitarian situation," Iqbal said, noting the family includes teenagers and three young children. "The security conditions in the area are so complex that the handling process cannot be done easily," he said.

Last month, an News Agency that Dare Not be Named team in Raqqa met with members of an Indonesian family of 17 and reported on their journey two years ago from Jakarta to Raqqa and their initial desire to live in the Islamic State group's self-proclaimed capital.

They also told the AP of how their dreams were crushed in the face of IS brutality and terror and how different the reality of life under IS was from the utopian dream of an Islamic society they had pursued.

The AP met the women and kiddies at a camp for the displaced run by the Kurdish forces just north of Raqqa, after they had managed to escape.

The AP also interviewed a male relative at a security center run by Kurdish forces in Kobani.

Turkey limits border traffic at Syria crossing: Customs Minister
[AlAhram] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
will limit the movement of non-humanitarian goods at the Bab al-Hawa border crossing with Syria because the Syrian side is controlled by a "terrorist organization", Customs and Trade Minister Bulent Tufenkci said on Thursday.

Last month, Hayat Tahrir al Sham, a rebel alliance spearheaded by the former al Qaeda offshoot Nusra Front, took control of the border area and most of Idlib province in several days of heavy fighting with its main rival, Ahrar al-Sham
...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014...
"Until that group's control ends, or at least weakens, there will be tight control and slowing down of the passage of all products other than humanitarian aid and food," Tufenkci told Turkey's NTV channel.

"We have no imports from Syria, we only export. Therefore, we don't have any issues in that sense," he said, adding that the issue could be resolved in the next two weeks.

Still, when I was in, eight weeks was Basic which prepared you for limited defensive fighting. Then you went to AIT to learn how to soldier. Infantry was nine more weeks and then the unit you went to taught you their SOP, if they had time.
This sounds bad.
