Germany Requires 1mil. Immigrants Annually to Address Skilled Labor Shortage, Says Expert
[ShafaqNews] Utter nonsense. According to the CIA World Factbook, Germany has 26,097,401 females between the ages of 15 to 64. Assuming half of them in the prime baby age range of 20-40, and each had one child more than currently planned, the problem would be erased.

Dutch government collapses over bitter migration dispute
Key issues: illegal immigration and driving Dutch farmers out of business for the sake of the Holy Grail of reducing global warming.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s coalition government collapsed Friday over "insurmountable" differences on how to tackle migration, with elections expected in November.

#2  Key paragraphs from PJ Media’s much blunter take:

The Netherlands government, led for 12 years by Prime Minister Mark Rutte, has collapsed in acrimony over the issue of chain migration.

The crisis came to a head this week when two of Rutte’s coalition partners refused to back a plan to make it harder for refugee families to reunite. Rutte wanted to create a two-tier system for asylum seekers, differentiating between those fleeing persecution and those running from a war. More significantly, Rutte’s plan would have capped the number of family members who could join asylum seekers in the Netherlands at 200.

“We are the party that can ensure a majority to significantly restrict the flow of asylum seekers,” said Geert Wilders, leader of the anti-immigration Party for Freedom. Wilders supported Rutte’s coalition 13 years ago, but his withdrawal from the coalition has now brought the government down.

It’s not just the right that’s displeased with Rutte’s leadership. The left has been agitating for more action on climate change and issues like housing and chaos in the agricultural industry brought about by draconian policies designed to cut nitrogen from Dutch farms.

In fact, the new party, the Farmer-Citizen Movement, known by its Dutch acronym BBB, is celebrating tonight. It recently scored a shocking victory in provincial elections last March, winning enough seats in the Senate to become the largest bloc in that body. The Farmer-Citizen Movement is riding the crest of a populist wave of opposition to the nitrogen mandates and other issues that farmers feel have been neglected by the government.

But it’s what the government wants to do about chain migration that has fractured Rutte’s coalition.

Politico:

Asylum applications in the Netherlands jumped by a third last year to over 46,000, and are expected to increase to more than 70,000 this year — topping the previous high from 2015.

To improve the conditions in the country’s asylum facilities, Rutte’s party, supported by the conservative CDA, proposed limiting entrance for children of war refugees who are already in the Netherlands and making families wait at least two years before they can be united.

The Spectator reports that the election outcome will be up in the air.

The Netherlands experienced a rise in anti-government feeling during unpopular pandemic lockdowns and has historically low levels of trust in parliament after scandals including childcare benefits and the Groningen gas field. Support for ‘Caroline’s’ party could be seen through the many lime-green BBB flags and upturned Dutch flags hanging around the country.

Right-wing parties such as Geert Wilders’ PVV and new far-right party JA21, plus a potential new left wing coalition of the Dutch Green Left and Labour are flexing their muscles for a general election. The Netherlands could swing right, although it’s not impossible that it goes left. If the BBB, which is now in power in most regional coalitions, achieves a landslide in parliament, this will have huge implications for immigration, the future of farming and environmental policy.

I like the idea of huge implications, which is nothing like vast tracts of land... ;-)

#3  From American thinker Today, very pertinent on the whole issue of immigration which is actually colonization:

"Stepping back from the immediate circumstances in France, those of us who are the products of Western Civilization must face an uncomfortable reality. We have dominated the planet for almost four centuries, thanks to the military might that grew out of the scientific and technological revolutions with their origins in the Renaissance and Enlightenment. Gunpowder, firearms and cannons, and later steam engines, airplanes, and other industrial/technology marvels enabled Westerners to impose their will on other peoples... Resentments are natural, and the desire for vengeance... Thus, the world a few decades from now will be composed of far more people with cultural origins in societies that have resisted adaptation to the building blocks of mass prosperity... The demographic warning signs are so convincing that public attention must be diverted if the left is to remain in power and continue the policies that make these projections likely to be realized. Home Front: WoT
Rep. Dan Bishop Moves To Overturn ‘War On Terror’ Authorization
[DailyCaller] A bipartisan group of representatives, led by Republican North Carolina Rep. Dan Bishop, has introduced legislation to repeal the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) that has granted four presidents broad authority to prosecute the War on Terror.

The 2001 AUMF allows the president to wage war "against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons." In addition to the 20-year-long war in Afghanistan, presidents have used the resolution to justify operations in Somalia, Syria, and the Philippines.

"The 2001 AUMF has served as the legal rationale for nearly every global entanglement in the nebulous ’War on Terror’ under four different Presidents. This is far beyond what the American people imagined this authority would be used for. Congress is constitutionally bound to take responsibility here — any overseas military campaign should have specific and limited authorizations, and those in favor of them should make that case. The American people are tired of forever wars and deserve to know where their representatives stand," Bishop said in a statement to the Daily Caller.

Every sitting member of Congress at the time except Democrat Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Rep. Barbara Lee voted in favor of the AUMF. Lee is the lead Democrat co-sponsor on Bishop’s legislation, which will be offered as an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act. Other co-sponsors include Republican Reps. Andy Biggs and Eli Crane of Arizona, Ken Buck of Colorado, and Matt Gaetz of Florida. (RELATED: Gaetz Suggests Alliance Between ’Squad’ And Populists On Anti-War Measures)

Congress has repeatedly sought to reassert its war powers in the 117th and 118th Congresses. The House voted in 2021 to repeal the 2002 AUMF that allowed the U.S. to go to war in Iraq, and the Senate followed in March. The Senate also voted to repeal the 1991 AUMF that birthed the Gulf War. Those repeals have not become law.

The House Armed Services Committee marked up the FY2024 NDAA in late June, before Congress departed for the two-week-long July 4 recess. The legislation appropriates $886 billion for the Defense Department, a 3.3% increase over 2023 levels. The House and Senate are likely headed for a showdown over the package, since Republicans in the upper chamber want to spend more money on the military.

  • Governor Greg Abbott has begun his plan to create a 1,000-ft-long barrier made of four-foot-wide buoys chained together, with netting underneath

  • The buoys are part of Abbott's mission to deter migrants from crossing the Rio Grande into his state

Honey-Trapped DRDO Scientist Revealed Missile Secrets To Pak Spy Agent
[OneIndia] DRDO scientist Pradeep Kurulkar was attracted to the Pak Intelligence Operative, who used the alias 'Zara Dasgupta', and chatted with her about Indian missile systems among other classified defence projects, the chargesheet has said.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of the Maharashtra police filed the chargesheet against Kurulkar, who was the director of one of the labs of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in Pune, in a court last week.

He was arrested for espionage on May 3 under the Official Secrets Act and is now in judicial custody.

Pradeep Kurulkar and 'Zara Dasgupta' were in contact through WhatsApp as well as voice and video calls, the chargesheet said.

'Dasgupta' claimed to be a software engineer based in the UK and befriended him by sending obscene messages and videos. During the investigation, her IP address was traced to Pakistain, the ATS said in the chargesheet.

The Pak agent tried to get classified and sensitive information regarding the Brahmos Launcher, Drone, UCV, Agni Missile Launcher and Military Bridging System, among other things, it said.

"Kurulkar, who was attracted to her, stored the classified and sensitive information of DRDO on his personal phone and then allegedly shared it with Zara," the chargesheet said.

He chatted with her about various projects, including surface-to-air missiles (SAM), drones, Brahmos and Agni Missile Launchers and UCV, it said.

The two were in contact from June 2022 to December 2022, as per the ATS.

Just before the DRDO initiated an internal probe after his activities were found to be suspicious, Pradeep Kurulkar blocked Zara's number in February 2023. He soon received a WhatsApp message from another unknown Indian number, asking 'Why you blocked my number?' The chat records also showed that he shared his personal as well as official schedules and locations with her despite knowing that he was not supposed to share them with anyone, the chargesheet said.

Policeman who survived Greece migrant boat disaster back home
Read it and weep, dear Reader. Or perhaps not...
[Dawn] Hundreds of migrants colonists on board the boat that sank off southern Greece last month weren’t provided with life jackets and food, even after they paid the crew $100, said one of the Pak survivors who has returned to the country.

Usman Siddique, who was among the 12 Pakistanis who survived the tragedy, arrived at his hometown in Kaleki village on Gujrat’s outskirts on Friday, family sources confirmed. Since his return, he has met with several people whose loved ones perished in the accident.

Mr Siddique, 28, was a constable in the Gujrat police but took a year’s leave and decided to go to Italia along with his four friends, some being cops themselves. They left Gujrat for Libya in May.

At his residence, Mr Siddique told news hounds that the crew collected money for the provision of life jackets before boarding the boat.

The boat was carrying at least 700 people with around 350 Paks, mostly from Gujrat, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin and Azad Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
regions, according to Mr Siddique.

He claimed the boat was stranded at sea after it went off course.

Around 12 hours before the sinking, a helicopter took pictures and flew away, Mr Siddique said, adding that a fat merchantman also stopped near the boat on the same day for more than an hour as the crew gave them water bottles and bread.

"Another ship arrived at the scene around 11pm and towed our boat with a rope, but as soon as the ship pulled the boat, it started breaking up."

"There was a hue and cry as people were drowning. Some held on to the rope after falling off, which kept them alive", Mr Siddique said, adding that a tourist ship arrived early in the morning and managed to get over 100 people to the shore.

He claimed there were still around 20,000 Paks in human traffickers’ safe houses in Libya, waiting to be sent to Italia via boat.

Three of his friends were also at these safe houses while another, also a police constable, had lost his life in the tragedy.

"The trafficker had pledged to send us to the destination within 10 days of leaving Pakistain, but they never fulfilled the promises and commitments despite receiving money."

For now, Mr Siddique is back at home after consultation with his family and parents. He was offered a legal permit to stay in Greece but declined the offer, as per family sources. Other Pak survivors who were still in Greece have accepted similar offers.

He advised the youth to never opt for the treacherous journey and "always prefer to live within their available resources and means. Your parents will never let you die of starvation."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Jenin operation aggravates Fatah-Hamas tensions
[Jpost] The expulsion of two senior Fatah officials sparked angry reactions from several Fatah representatives, including the faction’s armed wing, Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.

Hundreds of gunmen belonging to the ruling Fatah faction took to the streets in several parts of the West Bank over the weekend, in one of the largest shows of force by Fatah there in recent years, firing into the air and chanting slogans in support of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, amid heightened tensions with Hamas.

The tensions reached their peak last week, when two senior Fatah officials, Mahmoud al-Aloul and Azzam al-Ahmed, were expelled from the funerals of some of the Palestinians killed during the recent Israeli military operation in Jenin Refugee Camp.

The expulsion of the two officials sparked angry reactions from several Fatah representatives, including the faction’s armed wing, Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.

Fatah accused Hamas members of standing behind the humiliation of Aloul and Ahmed at the funerals and vowed to severely punish those responsible. It called on the PA security forces, largely dominated by Fatah, to "break the bones and cut off the tongues" of Hamas men in the West Bank.
That sounds painful...
On Friday night, a top adviser to Abbas lashed out at Hamas, dubbing it a "gang of thieves, liars, and spies" whose leaders lead comfortable lives in five-star hotels in Qatar while their people are suffering in the Gaza Strip.
Absolutely true. But the same could be said about Fatah and the Palestinian Authority as a whole, though perhaps not in Qatar.
Senior Fatah officials also accused Hamas of attempting to "hijack the victory" the Palestinian gunmen allegedly scored during last week’s two-day military operation in Jenin Refugee Camp.

The Palestinians see the results of the operation as a "victory," because the Israeli security forces were unable to kill or capture most of the top gunmen, including the commanders of the Jenin Battalion, a militia armed and funded by the Iranian-backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).

Twelve Palestinian gunmen were killed during the operation, according to Palestinian sources. The slain gunmen were members of the Jenin Battalion and PIJ, the sources said.

"Hamas was out of the picture during the Jenin battle," said Hafez Barghouti, a former newspaper editor and member of Fatah’s Revolutionary Council. "Despite that, Hamas told the world that it was present during the battle."

Hamas and other Palestinians, however, ridiculed the Palestinian security forces for hiding in their headquarters in the city of Jenin during the Israeli military incursion. Some went so far as to accuse the PA leadership of being in cahoots with Israel to get rid of the armed groups in Jenin Refugee Camp.

In an apparent response to the Fatah allegations, the armed wing of Hamas has begun taking credit for terror attacks against Israelis, especially in the West Bank. The goal: to show that Hamas is not sitting on the fence and is actively taking part in attacks against Israelis.

Aloul and Ahmed were forced to leave the funerals when several angry mourners shouted at them "bara, bara! (Go away, go away) and ya lil’ar! (shame) and accused the PA of failing to defend the Palestinians during the military operation.

HOW ARE FATAH ACTIVISTS EXPLAINING FUNERAL INCIDENTS?
Attempts by Fatah activists to explain to the crowd that Aloul, deputy chairman of Fatah, is a father of a "martyr" because his son was killed by Israeli troops at the beginning of the Second Intifada, fell on deaf ears. Aloul, also known as Abu Jihad, is a veteran Fatah leader whose name is often mentioned as a potential successor to the 87-year-old Abbas.
Or possibly not, after this demonstration of his unpopularity.
The incident at the funerals is seen as a huge embarrassment for Fatah and as yet another sign of mounting tension between the ruling faction and Hamas. The two parties have been at each other’s throats since 2007, when Hamas staged a violent coup against the PA and seized control of the entire Gaza Strip.

Syria strips accreditation of two BBC journalists
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Two journalists from the British television and radio company BBC have been stripped of their accreditation in Syria for spreading false information about the situation in the country. This decision was made on July 8 by the Syrian Ministry of Information.
It’s the BBC. If they didn’t deserve it for that, they did for many other things.
“Since the beginning of the terrorist war against Syria, the BBC has, from time to time, deliberately provided subjective and false information about Syrian reality,” the statement said.

It is noted that the correspondent and operator of the TV and radio company have been deprived of accreditation.

The statement also said that the BBC has repeatedly ignored warnings from the Syrian authorities about reporting that is misleading and based on statements by terrorist and anti-Syrian parties.

As IA Regnum previously reported , French journalist Christel Nean said that employees of Western and Ukrainian media paid servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to shell residential areas of Artyomovsk, and then in their reports they passed off these shelling as Russian war crimes.

Money from journalists was received, among other things, by militants of the national battalions as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Knowing in advance about the upcoming shelling, the employees of these media, naturally, were the first to be on the spot, Nean explained.

She noted that the Western media acted in a similar way in Syria.
