Oscar Pistoris is onskultig [innocent] of murder
Disgraceful

#1  His only regret is the pistol ran out of ammo.

#2  Still, there's this from the article:

With the premeditated murder charge off the table, Pistorius can still face a charge of culpable homicide, which means he may spend 5 years in prison rather than 25 years. He is also facing three unrelated weapons charges: two counts of unlawfully firing a gun in public and one count of illegal possession of ammunition.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
A confused summary on Gamergate
This tawdry scandal boils down to a young woman who was trying to get attention for a "social justice" game she developed, who then decides to shop her product. The problem is she can't, or won't, keep her legs closed as she is doing it.

When she was called on it, some gaming media decide to declare the era of the white misogynistic gamer to be over. And gamers responded.

Gaming media should congratulate themselves. They have arrived: a legitimate paid media, espousing lefitst values while denigrating those who oppose those values.

You really don't get a sense of the scandal in the linked article, but that is only because it is so weird, it defies description.

From TFA:

It was during this rising crescendo of malcontent that a sudden chorus of articles were published from numerous gaming outlets claiming, more or less, that the age of the “gamer” was over. Gamers as we knew and stereotyped them"white, male nerds with deep-seeded fears of both reality and women"were going extinct, and all this backlash over the Quinn scandal was a reaction to this fact. Foremost among these was a piece by Gamasutratms Leigh Alexander.

Game writers claimed that all cries of corruption in media were merely thin veils to give cover to what was, essentially, a misogynistic movement. In less than two days more than ten such articles appeared around the internet, on the one hand preaching to the choir, and on the other leading many already-upset gamers to cry foul even louder. This many articles at once all saying the same thing seemed fishy to many, though I would argue it had nothing to do with coordination and everything to do with like minds feeding off of one another.

I wrote a piece on the notion as well, criticizing both sides of the controversy: Game journalists for condescending their audiences and gamers themselves for their lack of diligence in how they critique the press and their insistence on focusing on Social Justice Warriors. …

Relationships between various indie developers, the press, and PR representatives led to more questions and theories on everything from the validity of the IGF awards, to the overall nature of the relationship between the press and the industry it covers, which many see as far too cozy. Lots of YouTube videos have been made about this. Lots of screenshots of tweets and various websites with lines drawn between various members of the press and the industry have also been created. Ittms a maze of allegations and connections without a solid destination.

Whether any of these theories hold water is an open question and one that, in my mind, is secondary to one very big fact: Readers have grown deeply distrustful of the gaming press.

#1  Oh, so the gamers finally realized that in speaking out, their so-called press would would reveal the sneering "I know better than you" grade-A liberal a-hole behind the mask of "reporter" - and worse, that when the "gamers" called the press out on the sex-for-reviews, payola, and other general lefty favoritism, the gamers would be called all kinds of names by those in the press - racist, sexist, misogynist, etc. Censored. Looked down upon by the press that was supposed to be reporting objectively and honestly.

It has become an advocacy press, almost a PR operation with only one "correct" view on any given issue is allowed to be heard and presented positively. All other views to be either suppressed or those who hold alternate views liead about, pilloried and slandered.

Welcome to the world Conservatives have lived in for years. The main stream press, as an institution, is fundamentally broken. I guess the gaming press has grads form the same libtard schools too.

#3  That would mean only 3 have read the Instaprof. The problem for the Social Justice Warriors (SJW) is most gamers can't be shamed. They have a good 'I don't give a $h!t' attitude having experienced years of on line taunting from 13 year old adolescents with personality disorders (very similar to the SJWs). The gaming companies (and allied spin offs and auxillary) which are all 'entertainment industry' need to be very careful that they don't kill off their audience (like newspaper readership and television viewership) by pandering the the SJWs.

#4  Dumb, dumb, dumb. Despite pervasive stereotypes, trailing daughter #2's gaming circle is about half female, as was my D&D group back in the late '70s. And given that the majority of the population is white, one would expect the same of the gaming world.

#7  It's a chance to educate a whole new set of the population on the corruption of the press, and perhaps open some eyes to the possibility what they "know" just ain't so.

#8  The stereotype of a raging profane 12 year old boy is no longer applicable. I play MMOs, and the gamers in that population are very social, and a lot of that particular population is older, and female. The use of the stereotype is as accurate for gamers as is the liberal press KKK image use as a stereotype for Conservatives.

#10  If you want to have a really good look at this issue and what the moderator is talking about about, have a look a this (highly biased) article:

http://techcrunch.com/2014/09/07/the-gamergate-question/

I work in a related industry and know some of the people involved. My two-cents worth: while the anti-Gamergate people have some valid points (that there's a certain amount of sour grapes, sexism, and *gasp* reaction involved), you can see from the attached article above that what author Tadhg Kelly really wants to talk about is how much he hates Republicans in general, and the Tea Party specifically... though neither have anything at all to do with Gamergate. He strains VERY hard to draw an analogy between "traditional" gamers and the "far right." Hysterically so.

Basically, much as the American media no longer like the American people and desperately wish to replace us with someone, anyone else, the video gaming media no longer actually wants fat men in Green Lantern shirts who, you know, like to play video games a lot as their audience. Only... that's who likes to play video games. And they can't even claim its a race thing because there's there’s "about 150-200m of them around the world." THEM being the people the video gaming media no longer likes.

That's a lot of eyes on screens to not want to read your articles there Tadhg.

#15  More than anything it shows how far the rot has gotten in media. You can't even trust gaming mags not to screw the public over to help themselves, just like their MSM cousins.

The faster old media dies the happier I will be.
Posted by: DarthVader || 09/11/2014 11:47 Comments || Top||

#16  Eye but there's the rub DarthVader: they're *not* the Old Media. Video gaming media is typically "new" media. But what does that mean exactly?

Case in point: video game "journalist" Tadhg Kelly (he's Irish, so that probably is his real name) was educated in Dublin, Ireland - which pretty much makes him a leftist-academic, even if you haven't read his weird article. He is co-owner of something called Simple Lifeforms, which "makes games, consultant and write about games as a business and an art form."

Kind of nebulous, but okay. Sure. It's had two rounds of funding. The first for 100k in 2008, and second for 40k in 2011. Let's have a look at who has done the funding, shall we?

The first 100k came from EM-Media, a Beverly Hills based company that "connect to a broad range of groups [Young, Old, Male, Female, Gay, and Straight] from all over the world bringing safe and enjoyable content to the comfort of the visitors own home." Though what the actually *do* to make money is extremely elusive, at least on the front page of their website where such things are typically made very apparent. You have to call people to find that out.

So: mostly likely a liberal front group for channeling some wealthy dilitant's money to left-wing causes they might not want to be directly associated with. Or possibly just a left-leaning venture capital firm of some kind. Kind of amounts to the same thing when you're giving Tadhg and his pal 100k to play with, doesn't it?

After Simple Lifeforms blew through 100k of somebody else's money in three years, they got another 40K from the DCU Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurship, "A joint venture between the Ryan family (Ryanair, Tiger Airlines etc) and Dublin City University." I see.

So there's your video game media: a a Temple Bar coffee shop Marxist who'se good at getting and spending sucker's money.

#17  By old media I mean media in the old style after magazines and newspaper modeling of business practices. Game blogs, and blog news sites for that matter can't get away with stuff like this for any length of time. They get exposed or drive away their audience pretty quickly.

With blogs there are far more gatekeepers to the publication and it is a lot harder to corrupt that many people rather than the few editors and chosen writers in the traditional model.

#20  #18..cause unlike a herd of RINOs and gaggle of college presidents, the geeks and nerds are showing a heck of a lot of backbone to those whose ammo of catch phrases and trigger words have been so effective in the past in advancing the power of the Left. Suddenly, they find their tools are firing up a resistance they're unfamiliar with and responded with the standard 'double down' behavior, only to create even greater response in return. This is entertaining.

Gunsex on Massoud Day Kills One, Injures Five
[Tolo News] Celebratory gunfire on Tuesday left one civilian dead and five injured, once again raising anger against authorities who seem unable to prevent the reckless behavior among gun owners even in the country's major cities.

During celebrations for Massoud Day, the national holiday honoring the mujahedeen commander Ahmad Shah Massoud, a 21year-old male in Kabul was killed and five others, including a woman and child, were maimed by stray bullets.

The families of the victims have demanded action be taken against those responsible, who some seem to believe were coppers.

Shwecchashebok League leader shot dead
[Dhaka Tribune] Unidentified miscreants have gunned down a local leader of Shwecchashebok League, a volunteer wing of the ruling Awami League, in the capital's Shyampur area.
Probably in a disagreement over how to spell it.
The deceased Riajul Karim Lalu, 42, son of Moktar Hossain, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical college Hospital.
"He's dead, Jim!"
Riajul's brother Nazim told the Dhaka Tribune: "Unidentified miscreants open fired on my brother around 7:15pm, while he was sitting at his store in Shyampur area, leaving him critically injured."
Shwecchashebok League is headed by Joe Btfsplk.
"He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at 8pm while undergoing treatment."
...by Dr. Quincy.
The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.

Russia Successfully Tests Nuclear Missile, More Planned
[Ynet] Russia carried out a successful test of its new Bulava intercontinental nuclear missile on Wednesday and will perform two more test launches in October and November, the head of its naval forces said.

The armed forces have boosted their military training and test drills since the start of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, which Russia considers in its traditional sphere of influence.

The 12-metre long Bulava, or mace, has undergone numerous tests, some successful, and can deliver an impact of up to 100 times the atomic blast that devastated Hiroshima in 1945.
To be used to obliterate ISIS' capital in Syria, Ar-Raqqah, no doubt.

Artillery strike were recorded in several locations including in Oktjabrskiy, Kievsky, Kuibyshevsky and Kirovsky. Those locations were hit "periodically", some coming from Ukrainian troops near the airport in the north.

Strikes on five other locations near but outside of the city were recorded, including at Spartak, which was hit by artillery from the direction of Avdeyevka, the 3rd Vostochny building estate, hit from the settlement Svetly Put', Makeyevka and Yenakievo.

Near Kemerovo-Popasnaya artillery mostly heavy MRL 122mm rocket artillery was recorded from both sides.

Ukraine promises 'special status' for east, but no territorial concessions
[Dhaka Tribune] Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko promised yesterday to propose a bill granting "special status" to rebellious regions in eastern Ukraine, in a bid to boost support for Kiev amid a shaky cease-fire, The Christian Science Monitor reported.

But Poroshenko said that the east would remain part of Ukraine, underscoring his unwillingness to consider calls from Moscow and pro-Russian rebels for federalization. Kiev has long argued such a move would give the eastern region near complete autonomy and propel it toward secession.

"Ukraine will not make any concessions on issues of its territorial integrity," Poroshenko said in remarks during a nationally televised Cabinet meeting addressing the conflict that's so far killed over 3,000, according to the News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

The president also said that 70% of Russian troops in Ukraine have left the country, something he said "strengthens our hope" for peace prospects, Rooters reports. Russia denies sending troops into Ukraine, a claim that Kiev and its Western supporters
strongly dispute.

But Poroshenko also noted that "the cease-fire was not proving easy to maintain because 'terrorists' were constantly trying to provoke Kiev's forces."

The Ukrainian leader's speech comes as he faces mounting pressure in western Ukraine to prove that he did not negotiate away Ukraine's territorial integrity during cease-fire talks last week, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Jewish Youths Said To Attack Two Algerian Teens In Paris
Tit for tat... OR boys being boys..
[IsraelTimes] Two Algerians were attacked by a gang of Jewish youths in a Parisian suburb as they carried out deliveries to restaurants in the area, Le Parisien reported earlier this week.

The two victims, high school students aged 17,
... who apparently had done nothing to deserve what happened except be in the wrong place at the wrong time...
were delivering bread on Sunday evening in the Saint-Mande suburb that lies southeast of the capital when the became involved in an altercation with local Jewish residents.

One of injured teens said the incident started with an "simple exchange of looks."

However, as tempers flared dozens of other "young" people reportedly joined in the fray, kicking, punching, and butting the two delivery boys.

One of the victims suffered a head injury, bruising to the scalp, and bruises on the forehead and left shoulder. The other teenager, who regularly delivers bread to restaurants that is baked in his parents' bakery, said that the attacks were racially motivated.

"They told us dirty Arab, you have nothing to do at home," he said. "Here is our neighborhood."

According to the report, a Polish friend of the victims who tried to help was also attacked.

A large number of police arrived at the scene and arrested three people, two of them minors. All were released due to lack of evidence.

All three of the victims were briefly hospitalized and lodged complaints with police.

In July thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators rioted in Paris in protest against Israel's Operation Protective Edge in the Gaza Strip. During the disturbances Molotov cocktails were thrown at synagogues. The violence has seen an increase in activity by France's Jewish Defense League.

Turkey Snubs Energy Deals With Israel Over Gaza Op
[Ynet] Energy minister says construction of Turkey-Israel gas pipeline unlikely after IDF Operation Protective Edge.
That's ok. Soon your sponsorship of ISIS will come home to roost, so best you concentrate on things you can control while Israel enjoys her energy independence.

India-Pakistan
Thousands flee as Pakistan floods spread to plains
[ARABNEWS] Thousands of people fled their homes in Pakistain on Wednesday as monsoon flooding that has already inundated the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmire coursed down onto the plains, causing a major river to breach its banks.

The flooding began earlier this month in Kashmire, where it has caused landslides and submerged much of the main city of Srinagar, on the Indian-administered side. The corpse count from the flooding in both countries has climbed to at least 457.

The rains have washed away houses, bridges, communication equipment and crops. Pak and Indian troops say they have evacuated nearly 75,000 people. The floods are the worst to hit Pakistain since 2010, when some 1,700 people died.

India's ruling party head charged with causing religious tensions
[ARABNEWS] Police Wednesday charged the president of India's ruling political party, Amit Shah, with inflaming religious tensions during the national election campaign, an officer said.

"The charge sheet against Amit Shah has been filed by the investigating officer," deputy superintendent of police Yogendra Singh told AFP in the northern town of Muzaffarnagar.

Police filed the chargesheet in a local court in Muzaffarnagar, although Shah, president of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was not present.

D.C. Public Schools homework assignment asks 6th graders to compare Bush to Hitler

#1  Takeaway:

1) DC is still a swamp of evil that needs to be drained
2) The left has nothing left except "Blame Bush"
3) Homeschooling or alternate schools to the public model need to be pushed
4) Tar and feathering needs to be brought back

#3  Institutional bigotry and bias. Why did the teacher even think it was OK? Compare Ray Rice and Bull Connor? How would you think a response to that assignment would be? Wouldn't even think of it would you? Yet, the world the teacher lives and works among gives that kind of license.

#4  So this is what our public school system has devolved to? This teacher shouldn't be teaching. This teacher is a frigging no-nothing dunderhead with a strong dislike for George W. Anyone know what the background of this teacher is?

#7  The last I saw, the school was refusing to divulge the name of the teacher involved. With so many angry parents, though, no doubt it will come out in the next few days

#8  A far more comparative exercise would be comparing Barak Obama with hitler. He took over the auto industry, healthcare, "environmental controls" executive power, purges, and stalinist courts. Brandishing the tea party as the new jews.

You know, We need an eventual de-democratpartyification in this place. It smells like murder.

P.S. Barak Obama is Moslem Brotherhood. Same as hitler.

Stupid fucking useless pieces of shit.
Criminals, all of you.

The most expensive school system in America, and the most destructive.
Fuck you DC
Just fuck you.
