Former Dutch prime minister and wife die ‘hand in hand' in legal duo euthenasia
[NY Post] Former Dutch Prime Minister Dries van Agt has died by legal euthanasia, "hand in hand" with his wife Eugenie.

The couple, who were both 93, died Monday in his hometown of Nijmegen, The Rights Forum, a human rights organization Agt founded, announced Friday.

"He died together and hand in hand with his beloved wife Eugenie van Agt-Krekelberg, the support and support with whom he was together for more than seventy years, and whom he always continued to refer to as ’my girl,'" the nonprofit said in a statement.

Both Agt and his wife had been suffering from deteriorating health for some time before they chose to die.

The former prime minister in 2019 suffered a brain hemorrhage while giving a speech at a commemoration event for Palestinians, a cause to which he dedicated the later decades of his life. He never fully recovered.

SecDef Austin Hospitalized... Again
[ZeroHedge] Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has been readmitted to hospital, the Pentagon said on Sunday afternoon.

Pentagon Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder gave an update on the defense leader’s condition, saying that the hospital admission had occurred early Sunday afternoon.

“Today, at approximately 2:20 pm, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III was transported by his security detail to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to be seen for symptoms suggesting an emergent bladder issue,” he said.

#3  It definitely seems fishy, but, if we believe The Hill:

From the ZH article: Austin returns to Pentagon after hospitalization

“I feel good and [am] recovering well — but still recovering — and I appreciate all the good wishes that I have received thus far.”

All the good wishes...yeah, all six of them.

CEO of Nigerian bank among dead in fatal California helicopter crash
[10 News] There goes the money
The CEO of one of Nigeria's largest banks was killed on Friday when a helicopter he was riding in crashed in the Mojave Desert in Southern California. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said the crash happened east of Interstate 15 in the Mojave Desert in Southern California.

Herbert Wigwe, CEO of Access Bank, was among six people on board when the helicopter crashed shortly after 10 p.m. His death was confirmed by Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director general of the World Trade Organization and formerly Nigeria's finance minister, in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said the helicopter crashed east of Interstate 15 near Halloran Springs Road, which is near the California-Nevada border and about an 80-mile drive from Las Vegas.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the helicopter — a Eurocopter EC 120 — had six people aboard. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. The NTSB said investigators would arrive on Saturday and begin gathering information.

The sheriff's department said they had not found any survivors, but declined to elaborate.

KABC-TV reported the helicopter took off from Palm Springs Airport around 8:45 p.m. and was en route to Boulder City, Nevada.

Halloran Springs Road crosses over Interstate 15 in an area known to travelers for an abandoned gas station with a sign declaring "Lo Gas" and "Eat." It's located in a remote area of the Mojave Desert, with an elevation of nearly 3,000 feet. Logs from the California Highway Patrol show there was rain and snow in the area at about the time of the crash.

Overflow Crowd in Conway, South Carolina Goes Wild as Trump Greets Them Ahead of Rally
[Gateway] President Trump on Saturday spoke at the get-out-the-vote rally in Conway, South Carolina ahead of the February 24th Republican primary.

The South Carolina voters waited for hours to see Trump on Saturday.

Trump addressed the massive overflow crowd.

The overflow crowd roared as Trump approached the microphone.

"We’re gonna win in November!" Trump said to a cheering crowd.

#6  If he survives 2024, Trump could assign Carlson to a senior staff advisory or Foreign Service position and give him a Secret Service detail.

(after purging the detail of any Klingon operatives/detailees of course)

Aw WTF, just make Carlson the DCI with Vivec, Kennedy, or Mike Flynn as his deputy and purge the lot. Foggy Bottom will require a similar treatment. Rinse and repeat with germ killing solvent or ammonia as necessary. Unannounced drug testing at DoS would become mandatory.

Tulsi Gabbard would make a superb Secretary of Defense by the way. Her first task would be to restore Engineering degrees as prerequisites for graduation at the service academies. Her second order of business would be the orderly extraction of all US military personnel from Syria, Jordan, Somalia, Nigeria, and Iraq. US weapons and ammunition equally divided among current warring parties.

All military personnel from closed overseas locations to be reassigned to The Texas National guard with full-time border enforcement duties.

Ranting on: Netanyahu, Argentina's Javier Milei and Hungary's Viktor Orbán to accompany Trump to his inauguration ceremony and dinner.

Inauguration dinner keynote speaker Gov. Greg Abbott thanks Trump for commitment of Bradley Fighting Vehicles and Reaper Drones, bestows honorary Texas Citizenship to Trump.

Gasoline prices plummet to $1.13 per gallon overnight in 31 states.

#11  I forget, what was Trump's excuse for appointing Nikki Haley as US Ambassador to the UN? If I had to guess, it was probably close to the same reason Trump hired John Bolton, but it's just a guess.
Posted by: DooDahMan || 02/11/2024 17:31 Comments || Top||

#12  Nikki Haley did a good job as ambassador to the UN, where her job was to convey President Trump’s policies. She is unfortunately not suited to be a Republican candidate for the presidency.
