Holder: Critics of handling of Fast & Furious gun walking scandal can 'kiss my ass'
[DAILYMAIL.CO.UK] Newly released emails show Attorney General Eric Inaction Jackson Holder
... aka Mister Fast and Furious...
said that Justice Department prosecutors who were critical of the department's handling of the fallout of the Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal could 'kiss my ass.'

Fast and Furious was a botched effort by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to track firearms across the Southwest border.

Revelations about it created a political firestorm, leading to congressional investigations and turnover within the ATF and Justice Department.

The Justice Department provided a batch of emails to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The News Agency that Dare Not be Named obtained the emails on Friday.

House Republicans, who have subpoenaed for thousands of emails and went to federal court for access to the documents, have long promoted the idea that Holder knew that federal agents had engaged in a risky tactic known as 'gun-walking.'

The Justice Department's inspector general found no evidence that Holder was aware of the tactic, in which ATF agents tried to track the flow of illegal guns from the United States into Mexico but instead lost track of many of the weapons.

In one email from March 2011, after being sent a news story about the Fast and Furious investigation, Holder told staff, 'I hope there is another side to the story.'

Later, after the ATF deputy director told Holder aides that 'we did not allow guns to walk,' Holder responded to staff with, 'Do they really, really know?'

That August, Holder was told by staff that a group of U.S. attorneys was upset that the resignation of Dennis Burke, then the U.S. attorney in Arizona, was announced simultaneously with the reassignment of ATF Acting Director Ken Melson.

Holder replied, 'Some people can kiss my ass.'

In another 2011 email Holder vented to colleagues about GOP congressional investigator Darrell Issa 'and his idiot cronies.'

The angry remark appears in an email Holder sent to his top deputies at the Justice Department, calling out the chair of the powerful House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

One was the murder weapon that killed U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry in December 2010.

The Holder email was part of a massive document dump that the Justice Department released on Election Day as Americans were occupied with voting and watching, breath-bated, for results.

Georgia Sen. Johnny Isakson to seek third term
[ONPOLITICS.USATODAY] Sen. Johnny Isakson is out to prove the early bird catches the worm.

The Georgia Republican will announce next Monday, Nov. 17, that heâll seek a third term in the Senate, according to a release posted on his campaign website.

Isakson, first elected in 2004, will be joined by state officials, lawmakers and supporters at the Capitol in Atlanta. Isaksonâs campaign event not only puts an end to persistent rumors that heâll retire, but itâs also likely it could help him clear the field.

#1  Is this good or bad?
Posted by: Steve White || 11/11/2014 13:46 Comments || Top||

#2  Depends. His voting record for the 113th Congress is here and long-term record is here.

During his political career, he's been labeled a RINO, a "libertarian-leaning conservative" and "hard-core conservative."

I dunno. I'd go with "Republican politician" myself.

#3  He waited until Perdue made the cut. Probably anxious to assist him.

#4  Since we just now had an election, I'd call him "determined to feed at the public trough."

#5  "determined to feed at the public trough."

A blanket that covers all the horses I'm afraid.

Rush Limbaugh Threatens To Sue DCCC
h/t Instapundit
Radio host Rush Limbaugh has threatened to sue the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) for defamation, The Daily Caller has learned.

Limbaugh retained the services of lawyer Patty Glaser and demanded that the DCCC “preserve all records in anticipation of a lawsuit for defamation and interference” after the Democratic Party group led a campaign against Limbaugh based on out-of-context statements the host made about sexual assault. Limbaugh’s legal team delivered a letter to DCCC representatives Monday informing them of the legal threat. Limbaugh has also demanded a public retraction and apology.

#1  He needs to shut the F^&K up and do it or he is no better than the DCCC. Im tired of rhetorical bullshit, they all remind me of 6 year olds in a fight, Push me, I'm gonna beat you up, I'm telling daddy, Rush and the rest are all posers! They need to reflect today on just what the men and women this day is set aside for, and then just for one minute try to measure up to the vets and their dedication and honor and FOR ONCE do the right thing.

#2  49 Pan, I mostly agree with you except I have a lot more positive to say about Rush. He was the only conservative voice in the media 20 + years ago. The only one talking out about the travesty that is the Clintons and the left-wing radical Dems.

Do I agree with everything he says or the way he says it? No. But he was the only one hauling the trash and deserves a huge amount of slack.

#3  Rush will do it, and he will drag it out to get good radio out of it for as long as possible.
Posted by: rjschwarz || 11/11/2014 14:48 Comments || Top||

#4  What Rush is really looking for is discovery. That's why they sent a preserve records notice before hand. Now, any missing or destruction of evidence can be viewed as a presumption of guilt. Whether he actually goes to court or not, these folks are going to get pulled through the wringer.
