[LA Times] Gov. Jerry Brown agreed Wednesday to take money but not marching orders from President Trump in deploying 400 National Guard troops to various locations around the state, insisting any service members near the border would not enforce federal immigration law.
"Your funding for new staffing will allow the Guard to do what it does best: support operations targeting transnational criminal gangs, human traffickers and illegal firearm and drug smugglers along the border, the coast and throughout the state," Brown wrote in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and Defense Secretary James N. Mattis.
Brown was the last of the nation's border governors to respond to Trump's request for a beefed-up presence. In his letter, he said that he wanted to be "crystal clear" in what he was agreeing to provide.

At the VERY first sign of difficulty, Federalize the entire bunch under an active duty General officer. Anyone who defies orders, off to Leavenworth Kansas immediately, pending UCMJ action.

From 1991 - 1995 I was the Counterdrug Coordinator and Commander of the California National Guard Counter-Drug Task Force, approximately 450 active duty, Title 10, Soldiers and Airmen supporting 75 law enforcement agencies throughout the state. We did extensive work with the US Customs and US Border Patrol (now CBP) at the Port of Entry inspection cargo, constructing and improving a huge part of the cross compartment road network, especially in the San Diego Sector, built the first wall using PSP and steel landing plates, (Pierced Steel Plating was a terrible idea, like a ladder) and conducting clandestine observation post missions with reporting and coordination for the Border Patrol. Ever soldier was armed with a sidearm and there was never a shooting confrontation in 4.5 years of my tour. We had ROE and arming orders, and extensive coordination and cooperation with the BP. The Cal Guard has a long history of working on the border, knows it well and can play a vital role. The tragedy is what Brown might do as he grandstands in his special, demented way...
[E21] President Trump’s new executive order aims to reduce poverty by encouraging able-bodied adult welfare recipients to move into the labor force. A similar initiative in the United Kingdom over the past five years has been successful in raising labor force participation.
The new executive order, signed on April 10, directs federal agencies to review and adjust their public assistance programs. The Trump administration wants the federal agencies to reduce the waivers, exemptions, and exceptions for public assistance programs as well as encourage work requirements for these programs. Additionally, the executive order aims to promote flexibility for state and local governments to meet the needs of their residents.
Previously, Seema Verma, the administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, had approved waivers permitting three states ‐ Arkansas, Kentucky, and Indiana‐to put in place work requirements for Medicaid, and more states have expressed interest. However, President Trump’s executive order is the first of its kind to encourage nationwide change.
During the recession, the labor force participation rate decreased while the unemployment rate skyrocketed. But nine years after recovery from the recession, the United States has seen minimal increases in the labor force participation rate despite the unemployment rate remaining steady at 4.1 percent in March and 6.3 million job vacancies reported at the end of January.
Unfortunately, the entitlement system does not support upward mobility of enrollees by assisting them and encouraging them to find work. The new executive order would make federal agencies more accountable for their ability to move people into the workforce. This, along with the addition of work requirements, should lead to fewer Americans being reliant on government support and greater participation in the labor force.
Between 2009 and 2016, the latest year comparable data are available from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, both the labor participation rates for prime-age men and women in the United States have declined by over one percentage point. In comparison, the labor force participation rate in the UK for men has increased by almost one percentage point and for women by almost two percentage points.
[PJ] In a startling revelation, it's just been discovered that Facebook still employs one of the two researchers responsible for the harvesting of data from tens of millions of users and selling it to Cambridge Analytica, according to reports. The researcher, Joseph Chancellor, is now working at Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., as an in-house psychologist.
Prior to his Facebook employment, Chancellor was a co-director of Global Science Research (GSR) with Aleksandr Kogan. GSR is the same company that created a personality app that was purported to be academic research, but in fact, was designed to elicit personal information that was then shared with Cambridge Analytica. He began working at Facebook in late 2015, shortly after leaving GSR. By the time he left GSR, the company had acquired personal data on millions of Facebook users.
According to The Guardian, "Chancellor is working as a researcher at Facebook’s headquarters in California, where psychologists frequently conduct research and experiments using the company’s vast trove of data on more than 2 billion users."
"It is not known how much Chancellor knew of the operation to harvest the data of more than 50 million Facebook users and pass their information on to the company that went on to run data analytics for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign," The Guardian reported.
Facebook recently announced it had suspended both Kogan and Cambridge Analytica from using the platform, pending an investigation, but made no mention of Chancellor.
[Telegraph] Boris Johnson has said the the Kremlin "must give answers" after an international watchdog confirmed that Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were poisoned with a "high purity" strain of Novichok nerve agent in Salisbury.
The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons said that it had been able to "confirm" the findings of British scientists about the nerve agent.
It represents a significant boost to Theresa May, who has said that Russia was directly responsible for the attack. Mr Johnson said that only Russia has the "means, motive and record" to have carried out the attack.
He said: "We will now work tirelessly with our partners to help stamp out the grotesque use of weapons is this kind. The Kremlin must give answers. We must, as a world community, stand up for the rules based order which keeps us all safe. The use of weapons of this kind can never be justified, and must be ended."
The OPCW conducted tests on blood samples from the Skripals and also an analysis on samples of the agent found in Salisbury.
The team also took samples from Detective Sergeant Nicholas Bailey, who was poisoned after coming into contact with the agent while assisting the Skripals.

"must give answers", huh? When Boris Johnson compared the Soccer/Football World Cup in Russia to Hitler's 1936 Berlin Olympics (where some UK athletes gave the famous salute, if I recall correctly), that cemented the fact that he is a clown and a puke that needs to go away from the [international] stage.

They are alive because they got to a hospital that could put them in a machine that would do their breathing for them...for the few weeks it takes to clear this stuff out of nerve synapses.
I am not familiar with this agent, but my understanding from reading interviews with people who are is that unlike sarin and VX that are easily absorbed and quickly build up a high-enough concentration, this stuff is a solid that is more slowly absorbed but also hard to excrete; so it also eventually gets to a high-enough concentration to stop up the works. That is why it has little military utility and most people have never heard of it.
That difference in the timeline of symptoms gave Skripals the chance to get to a hospital and survive, whereas the Nork's brother hit with VX did not have enough time, so he died.
The fact that this was "high-purity" shows that it was produced by a sophisticated agency. The fact that they are not dead is because that sophisticated agency did not really intend to kill them. There are hundreds of better ways to really get people dead if that was what they wanted to accomplish.
[Kansas City Star] JEFFERSON CITY - Concerned about the plight of black people in her Missouri district, a Democratic state senator on Tuesday called for reparations for former slaves and criticized her own party for taking African-American votes for granted.
Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City, criticized white Democrats, such as U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, saying there's "no difference" between them and Republicans. Both parties, she said, have failed black people.
"Neither one of them give a heck about the black community, only the votes," Chappelle-Nadal said.
Speaking on the Senate floor during a debate on a tax bill, Chappelle-Nadal said she was motivated by the calls and emails she receives about her constituents' needs.

[CNBC] J.P. Morgan Chase announced plans to spend $20 billion over five years to raise hourly pay for a portion of its workforce, add jobs and open 400 branches in new U.S. locations.
The bank says tax breaks, reduced regulation and an improved business climate have made it possible to make these changes, which also include adding 4,000 jobs and increasing its charitable giving.
Earlier this month, the bank reported fourth-quarter profit that beat expectations despite a $2.4 billion charge related to the tax cuts and a difficult trading environment for its investment bank.
"Having a healthy, strong company allows us to make these long-term, sustainable investments," said J.P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon in a statement Tuesday. "We are excited about further investing in our outstanding workforce and expanding into new U.S. markets."
Several large U.S. companies have announced one-time bonuses, investments in jobs and facilities, and growth plans since the tax overhaul enacted in Washington late last year.
J.P. Morgan has more than 252,000 employees, about half of whom work in its consumer and community banking group. It has a little more than 5,100 branches in 23 states.
Hourly wages for some 22,000 workers will rise to between $15 and $18 in more than 100 cities, the bank said. In New York, San Francisco, Boston and Jersey City, New Jersey, the increase will be at the highest end of that range. Employees are also each getting a $750 bonus later this month.
I thought brick&mortar was dead.
Must be a revenue sheltering tax strategy in play.

Divorce is hard, but it’s easier than cutting the brake lines on your wife’s car. It is long past time for an amicable divorce of the United States of America. There is simply no common ground with the Left anymore. We are now the couple screaming at each other all night, every night as the kids hide in their room.
We cannot come together, but we do not have to live like this. The history of the world is nations breaking up and redrawing their borders. If we want to avoid this political divide turning into a deadly one, we should do likewise.
Stop clinging to the past and acknowledge where we are as a country, not where you want us to be, not where things were when your grandpa was storming the beaches of Normandy. Where we truly are.
We are a nation hopelessly divided. We are more divided now than we have ever been in our history. And before you start screaming at me about the Civil War, keep in mind that bloody conflict was fought over one major issue. In those days, take ten families from New York and ten families from Alabama, put them all in a room, and you’d find they mostly had the same values (and bad accents).
Now, fast-forward to today and do that same thing. Those families have virtually nothing in common. We as a nation have polarized and separated from each other.
Anyone who thinks this is a radical idea has an extremely narrow view of history. If you don’t believe me, go try to book a plane ticket to Czechoslovakia, or look at a map of Europe from the year 1600, then look at one today. See any differences? Borders move. Countries split and change hands. They do this for a myriad of reasons. Ours would be a major cultural shift toward the left and half the country refusing to go along with tyranny.
#3
Generally speaking, the blue states are on the east and west coasts. So, if we divided the country as this article suggests, the red states would be deprived of deep water ports. This is not acceptable. OTOH, if they want a war we have a pretty good idea who wins and who loses. The writer's claim that divorce is easier than cutting the brake lines on your wife's car is not necessarily true and she needs to know that. With the lawyers and the judges on her side, divorce is not necessarily the best option. I don't usually consider myself a war monger but I am not willing to let them have California.

We're divided because we've been deliberately divided by the media and the long march through the schools over the past several decades.
Part of the solution would be to get ideology out of the schools and get back to teaching the basics, including civics and the history of western civilization. I have no idea how to accomplish that, given the current state of education, except to start over. Alternatively, get the Federal government, the teacher's union, and the textbook monopoly out of education and let the states work things out.
To raise awareness enough to accomplish that politically, something has to be done about more balance in the MSM. You'll never get an individual outlet to be balanced. That's too much to expect and has not been the case historically. The MSM was simply turned over to the left without any resistance.
What's needed is a balanced industry. The right needs to buy or start new news and media organizations which deliberately exclude leftists.

[Freebeacon] A new website aims to add "Steyerville" to the political lexicon as a term for once thriving communities that had their livelihoods stripped away thanks to efforts of environmentalist groups backed by liberal billionaire Tom Steyer.
The website, Steyerville.com, was launched on Thursday by Power the Future, a nonprofit dedicated to giving a voice to men and women working in the energy industry who it says are often drowned out by loud activist voices backed by Steyer's billions.
It labels places such as Boone County in West Virginia, where unemployment has doubled and 10 percent of the population moved away in just six years, as the home of Steyervilles.
The story laid out by the group is that Boone County was thriving because of the coal industry, which in 2010 employed 3,894 of its residents. Then came the Sierra Club, an environmentalist group backed by Steyer's millions, which targeted the county's coalmines with environmental lawsuits and pushed them toward bankruptcy.

[NPR] Days after being released from a hospital, the daughter of a former Russian spy who was poisoned in southern England last month said she didn't need help from the Russian embassy, which has accused the U.K. of holding her against her will.
"I have access to friends and family, and I have been made aware of my specific contacts at the Russian Embassy who have kindly offered me their assistance in any way they can," she said in a statement issued through police. "At the moment I do not wish to avail myself of their services, but, if I change my mind I know how to contact them."
She said she was not strong enough to give a full interview yet, but added that until she is ready, "no-one speaks for me, or for my father."
Yulia Skripal, 33, was found slumped on a bench in Salisbury on March 4 along with her father, Sergei Skripal, a former Russian intelligence officer who was convicted in Russia on charges of spying for the West and came to Britain as part of a prisoner swap in 2010.
The two were later found to have been poisoned by a type of military-grade nerve agent first developed in the Soviet Union in the 1970s. London has accused the Kremlin of trying to assassinate Sergei Skripal as an example to other potential defectors, a charge Moscow has strongly denied.
The case has sparked international outcry and set off a diplomatic row resulting in the expulsion of dozens of Russian diplomats from the U.S. and NATO member countries, and a reciprocal response from Moscow.
[Newsweek] Saudi Arabia is planning to escalate its isolation of regional rival Qatar by using nuclear waste and a 650-foot wide canal to turn its neighbor into an island.
According to reports in the state-linked al-Riyadh and Sabq newspapers, the project—which would establish a military zone, nuclear waste dump and canal—would separate the two countries along the entire length of the 37.5-mile border.
The two nations have been locked in a crisis since the imposition of a Saudi-led diplomatic blockade on Qatar in June 2017. Saudi Arabia and its allies—including Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt—accuse Qatar of supporting terrorism in the Middle East, a charge Doha denies.
Apparently, Riyadh is not content with traditional isolation. The so-called “Salwa Marine Canal Project” would establish a military base in one area of the border and a nuclear waste site in another. The waste would come from the nuclear reactors that Saudi Arabia is planning to build. The border would then be clearly demarcated by a wide canal. The UAE would also build a nuclear waste site at its border’s closest point to Qatar.

Trump should simply pardon anyone he indicts. When they scream about it, simply respond, "Democrats can have their political witch hunter, and I'll rescue the accused witches until they tire of this game."
[Daily Caller] Nick Saban and the Alabama football team proved how special it is having the opportunity to visit the White House on Tuesday in more ways than one.
Donald Trump welcomed the Crimson Tide to the White House yesterday to recognize the team for their national championship victory. Of course, it was a special moment for the team, but what happened after the ceremony was truly amazing.
After Trump finished praising Alabama for their incredible comeback victory over Georgia in the national championship, punter J.K. Scott pulled the president aside and asked if he could pray for Trump and his staff. A handful of Scott’s teammates then circled around Trump and bowed their heads in prayer together.
[Townhall] Robert Mueller was appointed special counsel in May 2017 in reaction to a media still gripped by near hysteria over the inexplicable defeat of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.
For nearly a year before Mueller's appointment, leaks had spread about collusion between Russia and the Donald Trump campaign that supposedly cost Clinton a sure victory.
Most of these collusion stories, as we now know, originated with Christopher Steele and his now-discredited anti-Trump opposition file.
After almost a year, Mueller has offered no evidence that Trump colluded with the Russians. Aside from former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, a few minor and transitory campaign officials have been indicted or have pleaded guilty to a variety of transgressions other than collusion.
Ironically, the United States has often interfered in foreign elections to massage the result. Recently, Bill Clinton joked about his own efforts as president to collude in the 1996 Israeli election to ensure the defeat of Benjamin Netanyahu. "I tried to do it in a way that didn't overtly involve me," Clinton said.
The Obama administration did the same in 2015, when it used State Department funds to support an anti-Netanyahu political action group.
Since Mueller's investigation began, a number of top FBI and Department of Justice officials have either retired, or were reassigned or fired.
With the exception of former FBI Director James Comey, all left their jobs due to investigations of improper conduct that took place during the 2016 election cycle. Most were under a cloud of suspicion for lying, having conflicts of interest or misleading investigators.
[Townhall] On Wednesday, Defense Secretary James Mattis confirmed to reporters that the United States and its allies are "still assessing the intelligence" about the alleged chemical weapons attack on Syrian civilians this weekend.
In response to a question about whether U.S. military forces are "ready right now to conduct a retaliatory strike if ordered," Mattis added: "We stand ready to provide military options if they are appropriate as the President determines."
Mattis’s comments followed President Trump’s tweet this morning promising that missiles "will be coming" to Syria soon:
In spite of Trump’s above certainty about Assad’s culpability in the chemical attack, on Monday, the president said that American intelligence had not been able to confirm who had carried out the attack. He also expressed frustration that the area was not immediately made open to international investigators [emphasis mine]:
[TC] The fact that Facebook probably has a profile of you whether you’re a Facebook user or not might come as a surprise to some users, though today even the company’s chief executive denied knowledge of the practice ‐ or at least the term used to describe it.
In this morning’s hearing with the House Energy and Commerce Committee, New Mexico Representative Ben Lujan cornered Mark Zuckerberg with a question about so-called "shadow profiles" ‐ the term often used to refer to the data that Facebook collects on non-users and other hidden data that Facebook holds but does not offer openly on the site for users to see.
In one of the handful of slightly candid moments of the past few days, Rep. Lujan pressed Zuckerberg on the practice today:
[Townhall] Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was curious as to whether disgraced FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page still had security clearances and the ability to search anyone they please. So he asked the agency and received their "non-answer" on Wednesday. Yet, that non-answer told him quite a lot. In the letter, the FBI noted that all agents have security clearances, indirectly confirming the duo did too.
Paul had the letter to prove it.
Reports revealed last year that Strzok and Page sent each other several texts trashing President Trump. Strzok, who was on special counsel Robert Mueller's team in the Russia investigation, had been reassigned once the politically biased texts were discovered. Strzok had also worked on the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's emails.
Still, the FBI's correspondence with Sen. Paul suggests the two compromised agents still have access to an "enormous" amount of information.
"They can search almost anybody," Paul said. "They do not require judicial warrant."
[American Thinker] If there was any doubt that Robert Mueller's Ahab-like goal is the unseating of President Trump at all costs and by any means, it was erased by the thuggish FBI raid he orchestrated on the home and office of Trump personal attorney Michael Cohen.
Can't find any collusion between Trump and Russia? Hey, why not look for collusion between Cohen and professional whore and porn star Stormy Daniels? Was she paid to go away with campaign funds? Even so, that's an FEC violation punishable by a fine and something that does not require a SWAT team.
It certainly does not compare with money funneled by Team Hillary and the DNC though a law firm to Fusion GPS and British foreign agent Christopher Steele to put together a fake dossier on Trump using Russian sources. But where were the raids on the offices of the DNC, the Hillary Clinton campaign, and Fusion GPS?
This is the FBI of Andrew McCabe, Lisa Page, and Peter Strzok, whose mission was to keep Hillary Clinton out of prison and Donald Trump out of the White House. They never raided the home and office of Cheryl Mills, did they? They never raided Hillary's house or seized the acid-washed server, did they? But Michael Cohen is a threat to our democracy warranting brute force? Why wasn't Michel Cohen offered the immunity deal given to Cheryl Mills and other Clinton cronies?

[Debka] Tehran’s resolve to make Israel pay for its airborne missile attack on the T-4 air base was conveyed on April 11 by outing the 7 Rev Guardsmen killed in the attack. Iran has never, in all seven years of its intervention in the Syria war, released its military casualties. But on Wednesday, April 11, for the first time, the Iranian Guards mouthpiece, the Tasnim News Agency, ran the names and photos of the seven members of its aerospace unit, who died in the airborne missile strike on the Iranian compound of the big T-4 bases it shares with the Russian and Syrian air forces. The agency also ran pictures of heavily damaged equipment.
By coming clean about its painful setback, the Tehran regime implicitly assured the public that it was not in vain and it was committed to a reckoning with the enemy for the deaths and damage on display. The supreme leader’s senior adviser, Ali Akbar Velayati, said so bluntly when he arrived in Damascus on Tuesday: “Israel’s air strike on the Syrian air base will not go unanswered,” he said, As he spoke, Tehran gained support from its ally in Moscow with the visit of Alexander Lavrentiev, the special Russian emissary on Syria. In a long meeting with Iran’s national security adviser Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, the Russian said Iran’s decision for a military response to the T-4 attack was understandble. He then proposed combining Iran’s action against Israel with Russia’s plans for countering the forthcoming US-British-France operation in Syria.
The Iranian and Russian officials were of one mind that Israel’s T-4 strike was the opening shot for that operation, and the next round of attacks would target Iranian and possibly also Russian targets in Syria. On this point, they cited President Donald Trump who said on Monday, April 9, in response to the chemical attack in Douma: “We can’t allow atrocities like that… If it’s the Russians, if it’s Syria, if it’s Iran, if it’s all of them together, we’ll figure it out.”
Equally out of sync was the theory put about in the last 24 hours by some sources in Jerusalem, that Israel has no part to play in the US-British-French punitive operation against the Assad regime in Syria, since its only interest lies in preventing Iran from establishing a military presence in that country.
That theory is no longer relevant, because whatever Israel does now, it is not off the hook. For Moscow, Tehran and Damascus, Israel is an integral part of the US-led alliance and is seen to have fired the first shot for the main operation against Syria. Therefore, while Israel geared up initially for a limited Iranian strike from its northern border, it is now feared that a military location deep inside the country may be targeted. During Wednesday, prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu conducted back-to-back consultations with his top security advisers: Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gady Eisenklot, Air Force Commander, Maj. Gen. Amikam Nurkin, Military Intelligence Director Maj. Gen. Tamir Heiman and head of the National Security Council Meir Ben-Shabbat.

[DAWN] The Sindh government on Wednesday dismissed from service a former Senior Superintendent Police of Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... Central Prison and six other officials after an inquiry committee found evidence of their involvement in the escape of two high-profile Lashkar-e-Jhangvi ... a 'more violent' offshoot of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistain. LeJ's purpose in life is to murder anyone who's not of utmost religious purity, starting with Shiites but including Brelvis, Ahmadis, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Rosicrucians, and just about anyone else you can think of. They are currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of al-Qaeda ... (LJ) Lions of Islam last year, Dawn reported.
Sheikh Mumtaz alias Firaun and Mohammad Ahmed alias Munna, two Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LJ) Death Eaters, who were incarcerated Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! by the CTD in 2013 for their alleged involvement in the killing of over 60 people, had beat feet from the Central Jail on June 13, 2017.
A team of Sherlocks led by DIG Prisons retired Capt Pervez Ahmed Chandio conducted a detailed investigation into their escape and concluded that over a dozen jail officials "abetted and facilitated" the jailbreak.
"The accused Senior Superintendent of Prison Ghulam Murtaza Sheikh and his accused subordinates behaved carelessly, negligently and dishonestly throughout their tenure in maintaining discipline and order at the Central Prison Karachi," according to the findings of DIG Prisons.
DIG Chandio opined that at the time of the jailbreak the prison was being influenced by some "powerful" prisoners instead of the jail administration.
"The accused officers miserably failed to enforce Sindh Prisons Rules, 1978, and the departmental SOPs during the period in question, which ultimately created a loose environment for hardcore prisoners namely Mohammad Ahmed alias Munna and Sheikh Mumtaz to escape easily," he stated.

[AP] As for the federal Russia probe that has occupied much of Washington’s attention for months, he said he had not been interviewed by special counsel Mueller’s team, but “I know we’re working with them.” He offered no details, citing a concern about confidentiality rules of the investigation. Earlier this year Mueller charged 13 Russian individuals and three Russian companies in a plot to interfere in the 2016 presidential election through a social media propaganda effort that included online ad purchases using U.S. aliases and politicking on U.S. soil. A number of the Russian ads were on Facebook.
Perhaps the IRS should be asked whom Zuck's firm has been working for. Going back 5 years should be good enough.

[DAWN] The US diplomat, who reportedly rammed into a cycle of violence, killing one and injuring another on Saturday, will have to face trial, either in Pakistain or his home country.
In case the US embassy confirms that the accused has diplomatic immunity against trial here, he could be tried in US courts.
Talking to Dawn, a police brass hat said a case was registered for the crime and that there is therefore no doubt that a trial will be conducted. The diplomat has immunity regarding arrest and detention, but not against trial. He said it was up to the US embassy to decide if the trial will be conducted by the local courts or those in his native country.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... ’s former foreign minister late prince Saud Al Faisal has been accused of failure to pay for the porn movies he commissioned in La Belle France. He died in 2015, age 75.
According to reports, the late prince had porn films made in Gay Paree for his private consumption and owes around 90 thousand Euros to a private company based in La Belle France.
Never trust in the payment plans of princes, especially for things their king would disapprove of.
The firm which commissioned the movies for the late Saudi prince, SARL Atyla, has reportedly filed a lawsuit with an aim to recover the debts.
The officials of the company have said that the heirs of the late prince are refusing to pay the debt of 90,000 Euros for the movies and other services allegedly ordered by Faisal’s representative.
One of the films allegedly shows a Moroccan woman ‐ described in the lawsuit as having "privileged relations" with the prince ‐ frolicking with a porn star, according to The Local Newspaper.
In the meantime, the officials of the firm have warned that may have to present the films as evidence to the court if its demands are not satisfied.

Um, is it too late for me to volunteer for jury duty?
At that scale why didn't they go Old School and just buy an old mine shaft. No water bill with water naturally in the lower levels of a mine. Put a solar array or windmill above ground for a future power system to power it and use the same lights they did in their houses. That way it's all underground with no LED light frequency signature for the satellites to pickup, no electric bill and no water bill. Amateurs! Oh, and if they really want it stealthy, choose a mine with a spring above and divert some of the water for watering and to power instead of visible power above ground. It's what smarter players did in the ‘70s. That leaves their hole being maintance, transport and sales.

LONDON (AP) ‐ The British hospital treating poisoned spy Sergei Skripal on Wednesday accused a Russian TV crew of "appalling behavior" for sneaking into the facility overnight.
Footage posted online by British newspapers showed a reporter from the REN TV network walking along corridors at Salisbury District Hospital early Wednesday and commenting on the apparent lack of security.
The hospital said in a statement that "this footage shows appalling behavior on the part of these Russian journalists ‐ approaching staff in the middle of the night with no warning and without asking for any permission."
It said "any attempt to harass, intimidate or cause distress to any of our staff or patients is absolutely unacceptable and will not be tolerated."
The Wiltshire Police force said officers "attended and spoke to two men in the reception area, who were believed to be news reporters. They were asked to leave the hospital and did so. No arrests were made."
The video was unavailable when the Weasel Zippers site posted it. So I guess the news it that the warships were filmed leaving, and the film is not for popular consumption.

[DAWN] The family of a girl who married a man of her choice gave a sound thrashing to the couple on Tuesday outside the Lahore High Court and also took the bride with them.
Humaira, a resident of Pattoki, contracted marriage with Imran Ali last month and the family of the girl had a kidnap case registered with local police against the groom.
The couple filed a petition before the high court requesting that the case be quashed for being fabricated.
On Tuesday, Humaira was supposed to appear in court to record her statement in favour of Ali. However, it's easy to be generous with someone else's money... her family members stopped the couple outside the high court and started beating them.
Some lawyers and passersby rescued the couple and tried to calm down the situation.
However, it's easy to be generous with someone else's money... the infuriated family of Humaira managed to take her with them dragging her with hair.

[BBC] All 500 teachers of Millcreek School District near Erie got a 16in (41cm) bat in the wake of the Parkland, Florida high school attack in February. Though the bats are largely symbolic, Superintendent William Hall said, they are there as a "last resort".
"Unfortunately, we're in a day and age where one might need to use them to protect ourselves and our kids."
The superintendent said the aim was to have a "consistent tool" for every teacher in every classroom.
Teachers received the bats after a training day on how to respond to shooters. They will be locked up in classrooms.
Mr Hall said this was part of the district's shooting response plan, known by the acronym Trojan. This stands for Threat assessment, Run, Obstruct and barricade, Join forces, Attack, and Never give up.
An online survey also asked whether teachers in the district should be armed if the state passed laws allowing it.
"It was about 70% to 30% that people would favour that," Mr Hall said, "but we're not really actively planning that right now."
Millcreek Education Association president Jon Cacchione said this was a tool if teachers had "nothing else".
"Part of the formula now is to fight back, and so I think the bats that were provided for the staff were symbolic of that."
The baseball bats reportedly cost the school district $1,800 (£1,270).

My father graduated from Millcreek High School in 1938. He and his buddy used to take their guns to school and put them in the classroom closet for the day. Then they would go hunting after school.
Today, they would lock down the entire school district. So sad how times have changed.

I think Turkey could end up more dangerous than Iran. Perhaps our prez should cancel the Syria attack, arm the Kurds to the hilt including with heavy weapons and drones, then exit stage left. Between Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Syria, Hezbollah, and all sorts of factions with the Kurds to rile them all up, they could be well occupied killing each other for the next 50 years.

[DAWN] US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... said on Wednesday that "missiles will be coming" in response to an alleged chemical attack in Syria, defying Russian warnings against a strike.

It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... also engulfed the record house, destroying case properties, valuable records and ammunition, DawnNewsTV reported on Wednesday.
The fire broke out late on Tuesday night. Firefighters, rescuers and law enforcers rushed to the scene but were unable to effectively run a firefighting operation due to blasts in the warehouse. The kaboom also caused panic among residents of surrounding areas.
The fire was subsequently overcome in the morning after a struggle of six hours.
Sindh Inspector General A.D. Khowaja and other officials also visited the site. The IGP, while talking to media, said that a short circuit seems to be what caused the inferno in the warehouse which was constructed in the British era.
"However, a woman is only as old as she admits... final conclusions will be reached after a thorough investigation," he said.
Chief Fire Officer Tehseen Siddique told the media that bullets and explosives present in the warehouse caused the blasts.

[PRESSTV] US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... and British Prime Minister Theresa May have not been invited to the wedding of Prince Harry and US actress Meghan Markle, British media have reported.
Prince Harry is neither the sovereign nor heir to the throne, so his wedding, like Prince William’s a few years ago, is not a state occasion. President Obama was not invited to Prince William’s, so it isn’t a special snub that President Trump will not be invited to Prince Harry’s, however much those who dislike President Trump would be happy to think it is.
Contacted by AFP, a front man for Kensington Palace, the prince's official residence, said: "It has been decided that an official list of politicians -- both UK and international -- is not required for Prince Harry and Markle's wedding".
Former prime minister David Cameron ... has stated that he is certainly a big Thatcher fan, but I don't know whether that makes me a Thatcherite, which means he's not. Since he is not deeply ideological he lacks core principles and is easily led. He has been described as certainly not a Pitt, Elder or Younger, but he does wear a nice suit so maybe he's Beau Brummel ... was invited to the 2011 wedding of Harry's brother, Prince William, who is second in line to the throne after their father, Prince Charles.
Perhaps it is a snub of Prime Minister May, then. But more likely Prince Harry is even farther down the line of succession now that his big brother has several heirs of his own, and therefore, like Prince Andrew, Harry is no longer at all important. Being the spare is worse than being vice president.

[PRESSTV] The recent alleged chemical attack near Damascus was a "false flag" operation by the US and its allies to launch an attack against the Syrian government and prolong the wars in the Middle East, a geo-political expert in London says.
"Anyone with a brain knows that the so-called chemical weapons attack was a total false flag," said Adam Garrie, the Director at Eurasia Future, a news and analysis website.
Syria and its main allies Iran and Russia must coordinate their efforts to prevent the American regime from launching attacks against the sovereign Syrian state," Garrie told Press TV on Tuesday.
"The United States...is being run by a neocon (neoconservative) faction that is identical to the kind of ideology which ran the [former US President George] Bush regime," he added.

If Russia threatened the US with nuclear war, even the intellectually comatose US Congress would realise that the stakes are too high for a mentally deficient savage like Donald Trump to be in charge of anything other than an ageing hotel lobby.
[Spectator] Special Report: Defending Borders Except Our Own
The same pols who say that America can’t afford Trump’s proposed wall have spent lavishly on the protection of borders outside the country. Every year they give billions of dollars to governments across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. That American largesse, combined with the astronomical costs of U.S. military protection, allow those countries to seal off their borders. Meanwhile, America’s southern border remains largely unprotected and pols pretend they lack the funds to address the crisis. As President Trump put it in his inaugural address, “We’ve defended other nations’ borders while refusing to defend our own.”

"Little Prosper" is an unlikely name. Ancient Hawaiians would sometimes give their infants really foul names to ward off evil spirits that might harm them. Later in life the kids would be renamed with something better.
[DAWN] Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... 's air defences on Wednesday "intercepted" a ballistic missile fired from rebel-held Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic... at Riyadh, a military front man said, adding two others were shot down in southern Saudi Arabia.
The announcement came after an AFP journalist witnessed kabooms and heard three blasts over the capital, which has previously been targeted by Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen.
"An Iranian ballistic missile launched from Sadaa towards Riyadh was successfully intercepted by Saudi Air Defence earlier today," Colonel Turki al-Malki, front man for the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Huthis, said.
He said Saudi forces also intercepted two missiles in the southern Jizan and Najran ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... , a city in southwestern Saudi Arabia near the border with Yemen. It is the capital of Najran Province and a favored target of Houthirocket forces.... provinces close to the border with Yemen.
The attacks were claimed by the rebels via their news outlet al-Masirah.
"The missile force carried out a large-scale ballistic missile attack on various parts of Saudi Arabia," al-Masirah said.
As the announcement on the missile interceptions emerged, Malki also said in a separate statement that Saudi air defences had shot down two unmanned Yemeni drones on Wednesday in southern Saudi Arabia.
One of the drones was targeting the Abha international airport in Asir province, which led to a temporary suspension of air traffic, and a second was approaching a "civilian object" in Jizan province, he said.
The Huthis claimed attacks on Abha airport and Saudi Aramco, located in Jizan, via al-Masirah, publishing an infographic of the "Qasef 1" drone.
Aramco in a statement on Wednesday said, "Saudi Aramco operations and facilities, including our facilities in Jizan, are operating normally and safely".

[PRESSTV] Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami says the country is boosting its deterrent power and is prepared to give a devastating response to any wrong move or miscalculation by the enemies.
Addressing a ceremony in the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz on Tuesday, Hatami added that enemies of the Islamic Theocratic Republic are well-advised not to test the country's power because they would receive a "crushing response" if they commit any misjudgment or miscalculation.
He emphasized that the Iranian armed forces are ready to strongly counter the enemies and make them regret any wrong move.
Hatami said Iran is a strong defense power in the region, adding, "We can currently pursue our goals and defend our interests well and with full force."

[Al Jazeera] Somalia has disbanded a United Arab Emirates programme to train some of its troops in a new sign of rising tensions in bilateral relations.
The Somali government announced on Wednesday that it will take over paying and training the soldiers in the programme, Defence Minister Mohammed Mursal Abdirahman told Somalia's state news agency Sonna.
"Somalia will fully take over [its troops] trained by the UAE... Those forces will be added to the various battalions of the Somalia National Army," Abdirahman said, adding the soldiers would be integrated into other units on Thursday.
The UAE has trained hundreds of troops since 2014 as part of an effort boosted by an African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... military mission to defeat an al-Shabaab ... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia... insurgency and secure the country for the government, which is backed by Western nations, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund.... and the United Nations ...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships... .
There was no immediate comment from the UAE government.

"You know that the facts that went in our favour were [deliberately] hidden by the JIT," he alleged. "You already know what has come out of Wajid Zia's mouth and, in a way, he has given us a certificate [of innocence]," he further claimed.

[Al Jazeera] Khalifa Haftar ...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all... , a veteran military commander in Libya, has reportedly been admitted to a hospital in La Belle France after suffering a stroke and slipping into a coma. His front man denied the reports, however.
Touted as a possible future leader of Libya, Haftar was hospitalised in Jordan on Tuesday after suffering breathing difficulties and a possible heart attack, sources told Al Jazeera on Wednesday.
According to French journalist Huguex Vincent, Hatar was then sent to Gay Paree and admitted on Wednesday to Val-de-Grace, a military hospital in the French capital, and his health condition is "serious", he said on Twitter.
But associates of the former military commander disputed the reports. The front man for Haftar's Libyan National Army (LNA) in eastern Libya, Ahmed al-Mismari, told al-Nabaa TV the general was well and news of his deteriorating health was untrue.
