Would-be NYC subway bomber Najibullah Zazi to be released on time served
[NYPost] A Queens man caught preparing for a 9/11 anniversary suicide kaboom on the subways under Grand Central will soon walk out of prison thanks to a sentence that amounts to his time already served, a judge ruled Thursday.

Najibullah Zazi,
...the Afghan-American who achieved shuttle bus driver status before joining the glorious Al Qaeda jihad with high school buddy Zarein Ahmedzay and Adis Medunjanin, where they seem to have met everybody. The three returned home from Pakistan with orders to blow up a subway, only to discover that bomb making is harder than it looks. Getting arrested, on the other hand, is easy. So is telling the feds all ...
33, had faced up to life in prison after his 2009 arrest, but spent nearly the next 10 years cooperating against al Qaeda.

Why are boringly straight women claiming to be lesbians?
h/t Instapundit
...My mate Julie Burchill has the right attitude. Although she once indulged in a well-publicized affair with a woman, she told me that definitely did not make her gay. ’It’s like going to Iceland,’ she said. ’Once you’ve been, why on earth would you want to go again?’
Posted by: g(r)omgoru || 05/03/2019 07:30 || Comments || Link || E-Mail|| [11 views] Top|| File under:

#1  In which a real lesbian from across the tracks and before the term was fashionable lays into those who claim the status for status points:

Lesbian tourism has long been a thing — women who once kissed a girl trying to appear more interesting while living a heterosexual life. Anne Heche, Madonna, Britney Spears and Ariana Grande have used lesbian/bisexual hints to titillate fans and sell more records.

But nothing riles me like the Miley Cyrus approach which is to be heterosexual, married to a man, but claiming to be ‘queer’ and edgy. In a recent interview about her marriage to Liam Hemsworth, she said: ‘We’re redefining, to be fucking frank, what it looks like for someone that’s a queer person like myself to be in a hetero relationship.’

What a load of pretentious baloney. Cyrus is as heterosexual as the next woman. Labelling herself ‘queer’ is as convincing as me deciding my dog is a goldfish. While I get the envy that many women feel towards those of us that shop around the corner, it is a bit low to want the attention for being ‘special’ while being boringly straight.

I notice that I got only one chance to read it, though. When I went back the article refused to appear, so I had to drop the title into the Google app in order to see the read it in full. Possibly I’m doing something wrong, but as I have a workaround, I’m not going to worry about it.

Book Sez Obama Butthurt Over 2016 Election
[UK Daily Mail, since no US media will cover this, ever] - Barack Obama admitted 'this stings' after the 2016 election result and spent the night watching the movie Dr Strange to try and distract himself, a new book claims.

The former president went from being confident that Hillary Clinton would beat Donald Trump to seeing it as a 'personal insult' that she lost.
Well, then. He took it exactly as I meant it
Obama could not believe the American people had 'turned on him' for a man he had written off as a 'cartoon'.

As the dust settled Obama told his family that 'this hurts' and blamed Clinton who 'brought many of her troubles on herself' and ran a 'scripted, soulless campaign'.

The eye-popping details are in the new edition of 'Obama: The Call Of History' by New York Times chief White House correspondent Peter Baker.

Dems Solemnly Don Tinfoil Hats Before Questioning Barr On Mueller Report
[Babylon Bee] WASHINGTON, D.C.‐Democratic senators on the Senate Judiciary Committee grilled Attorney General William Barr on the Mueller Report at a special hearing Wednesday.

Before they began the proceedings, the senators solemnly donned their tinfoil hats, a staple of Democrats' official uniforms since 2016.

"Is President Trump now, or has he ever been, AN AGENT OF RUSSIA!?" Senator Mazie Hirono screamed, dramatically pointing in Barr's direction. "Has he ever denied eating borscht!? What about playing Tetris? Doing that funny Russian dance thing? HAS HE!?!"

"And it's immediately obvious that when Trump watches Rocky IV, it's NOT Sylvester Stallone he's rooting for!"

When Barr said he didn't have enough information to respond to her questions, Senator Hirono immediately declared he should resign.

"You should resign immediately if you don't subscribe to my debunked conspiracy theory!" she screamed before an aide was forced to tranquilize her again.

U.S. Steel Investing $1 Billion In Mon Valley Works
BRADDOCK (KDKA) ‐ U.S. Steel says it plans to invest more than $1 billion for state-of-the-art technology at its Mon Valley Works.

According to U.S. Steel, the technology includes a new sustainable endless casting and rolling facility at the Edgar Thomson Plant in Braddock and a cogeneration facility at its plant in Clairton.

The corporation held a news conference Thursday to make the announcement.

"Our steelworker jobs have been the pride of Pittsburgh for well over a century, and with these new facilities, they will continue to be for generations to come," said President and CEO of U.S. Steel David Burritt.

The new plant promises much cleaner air and a healthier community. They boast a 60% reduction in particulate matter, 50% less sulfur dioxide and an 80% reduction in nitrogen oxide.

U.S. Steel has come under criticism for the air quality in the Mon Valley, with the county ordering the corporation to reduce air pollution in the area.

"The response to the community is we’re going to run this business as effectively as we can in the safest and most environmentally friendly way that we can. We’re doing that each and every day, and with this technology, it’s going to take us to an even better level," Burritt said.

Britain
Persecution of Christians is modern-day 'genocide', UK Foreign Secretary blames 'political correctness'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Christians are 'by far the most persecuted' religious group and are enduring what amounts to genocide in some parts of the world, a report concluded.

They are being driven out of the Middle East in a modern-day exodus that means the religion could be wiped out in parts 'where its roots go back furthest', the study commissioned by the Foreign Office found.

And the report by the Bishop of Truro, the Right Rev Philip Mounstephen, found 'shocking' evidence that the persecution is worse today than ever.

Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt last night blamed 'political correctness' for a failure to confront the oppression of Christians, which he called the 'forgotten persecution'.

Mr Hunt said he would use Britain's diplomatic influence to defend Christians where they were under attack for their faith, and admitted the problem was sometimes neglected due to 'misplaced worry' that confronting it would be interpreted as 'colonialist'.

The bishop said the study found Christians are 'harassed' in more countries than any other religious group, and especially in predominantly Muslim countries in the Middle East and North Africa. His report found 245million Christians now suffer 'high levels of persecution' in 50 countries, a rise of 30million year on year.

In particular, they have been attacked by extremist groups in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, north-eastern Nigeria and the Philippines, as well as in India and China. He added that the Middle East is witnessing the 'decimation of some of the faith group's oldest and most enduring communities' and called for 'urgent government support'.

Dr Mounstephen said: 'Through my previous experience... I was aware of the terrible reality of persecution. But to be honest in preparing this report, I've been truly shocked by the severity, scale and scope of the problem.

'It forces us in the West to ask ourselves some hard questions, not the least of which is this: Why have we been so blind to this situation for so long?'

He said it is 'ironic' that 'Western secularists, Islamic extremists and authoritarian regimes' share the same misconception that Christianity is 'an expression of white, Western privilege', arguing: 'In fact, Christianity is primarily a phenomenon of the global South and the global poor.'

WILL BRITISH MISSIONARY BE A SAINT?
A British missionary who was murdered by Robert Mugabe’s fighters in 1979 has been nominated for sainthood.

John Bradburne, pictured, was killed by guerrillas when he refused to flee the leper colony he was running in what is now Zimbabwe as the 15-year civil war was nearing an end.

Now nearly 40 years after his death, bishops in Zimbabwe have put his name forward to the Vatican for consideration for sainthood.

Off-duty soldier survives 70-foot fall from Kilauea volcano caldera
HAWAII ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man was critically injured late Wednesday after climbing over a safety railing at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and falling 70 feet from Kilauea volcano’s caldera.

The 32-year-old man was pulled from the caldera about 9:40 p.m.

On Thursday, he’d been upgraded to stable condition.

Army officials said he is a Schofield Barracks soldier who was on the Big Island as part of a unit on a training mission at Pohakuloa.

Ben Hayes, acting park spokesman and chief of interpretation, said another visitor saw the man fall from the 300-foot cliff about 6:30 p.m. and immediately alerted authorities.

Hayes said the man fell after climbing over a permanent metal railing at the Steaming Bluff overlook to get a better vantage point. That’s when the ground underneath him apparently gave way.

Remarkably, rather than plummeting to the caldera’s floor, the man fell about 70 feet and landed on a narrow ledge.

Hamas leader Sinwar heads to Egypt to discuss truce with Israel
[IsraelTimes] Gazoo terror group turns to Egyptian intel chief to mediate return to ceasefire, after a day of rising tensions following arson balloon attacks.

A Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", delegation led by the group’s Gazoo chief Yahya Sinwar left the enclave for Cairo on Thursday for talks with Egyptian officials on a truce with Israel, Hamas officials said.

Egypt has long been the broker between Israel and the terror group that runs Gazoo.

In November it brokered a fragile truce agreement whereby Israel eased its blockade of the Gazoo Strip in exchange for calm.

That agreement has appeared to be under stress in recent days, with Paleostinians launching arson balloons and rockets into Israel and Israeli warplanes striking Hamas targets.
In retaliation. Kinda forgot that part, hmmm?
Hamas has said the incendiary balloons were a message to Israel not to hold up the transfer of millions of dollars in Qatar

Hamas front man Fawzi Barhoum said Sinwar "left Gazoo for Cairo at the invitation of the head of the Egyptian intelligence service, Major General Abbas Kamel."

The visit was aimed at discussing "bilateral relations and ways to lessen the suffering of our people," he said in a statement.

A Hamas official said the truce agreement would be discussed.

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
, a Hamas-allied group backed by Iran, said its head will also attend the meetings.

Israel’s air force carried out air raids early Thursday morning on "a number of terror targets in a Hamas military compound in the northern Gazoo Strip," a military statement said.

It said they were in response to the launching of incendiary and explosive balloons from Gazoo into Israel.

Paleostinian Lions of Islam responded by launching two rockets into southern Israel. The projectiles fell in an open area, and no injuries were reported.

Lazy Mazie Morphs into Crazy Mazie
[AmericanThinker] Hey Mazie Hirono! Who do you work for? Who is pulling your strings? Surely, it's not the people of Hawaii or the rest of the country.

Your father left the family when you were very young, and your mom managed to bring you and your two siblings to Hawaii. She supported the family by working long hours to put a roof over your head and food on the table. In spite, of your meager surroundings, you managed to get yourself a fine education at the University of Hawaii and prestigious Georgetown Law School.

One would expect gratitude for the opportunity this country offered you, but instead you shamefully and ungratefully had the gall to state to your staff that "people are getting screwed in this country every single second, minute, hour of the day." So, the country that took you in, housed you, fed you, clothed you, and educated you is a country that "screws" everyone every second of every day? Doesn't look like you were screwed, but it does look like you are the one who is screwing the good people of this country.

Wednesday, instead of questioning Attorney General Barr at the Senate Judiciary Hearing, you ran a ten minute monologue slandering a public servant who has served this country for four decades because you are unhappy with the Mueller Report.

Also IIRC either Sen Inoyue or Akaka married a woman named Hirono, so it may be a case of the family idiot getting out of the closet.

Lindsey Graham will ask Chief Justice John Roberts to investigate FISA court misconduct
[WashingtonExaminer] Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., says he will ask Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts to investigate possible abuse of the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court during the 2016 election.

Noting that President Trump is "down" on the FISA court, Graham, who is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, told reporters on Thursday he will make a call to ask, "‘Would you please look and see what happened?’ because I don’t want to lose the FISA program."

As the chief justice, Roberts has the power to appoint judges to the FISA court.

KU says sexual harassment complaint against faculty members is 'fake'
[DAWN] Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
University (KU) on Thursday said that contrary to media reports it has received no "official" complaints from any students alleging sexual harassment against its faculty members.

A varsity spokesperson said that he was aware of circulating reports that two KU faculty members have been accused of sexually harassing six students of Mass Communications Department.

The spokesperson acknowledged that the varsity had received an application from a student, but said that the complaint did not bear original signatures of the victims.

He said that proper procedure was not followed for the filing of the complaint, adding that victims are supposed to personally make the complaint and appear before the concerned body in such cases.

Falcons Cell dismantles terrorist networks in Baaj
Nineveh (IraqiNews) Falcons Intelligence Cell affirmed, on Thursday, that the majority of snuffies mentioned by the leader of ISIS, His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

, were killed by its attack on al-Sousa area in Syria, while pointed out that it dismantled terrorist networks by an aerial landing operation in al-Baaj.

The Head of the Cell, Abu Ali al-Basry, said in a press statement, "The criminal, Ibrahim Badr (a.k.a. Baghdadi) in appeared video footage, which was broadcasted for 81 minutes on one of ISIS websites, was calling his followers to conduct terrorist attacks."

"The majority of snuffies that he mentioned in the video were killed last year in an attack by the Falcons Intelligence Cell on the Syrian area of al-Sousa," he added. "The recognition of the terrorist Baghdadi with his defeat in the Syrian region of Bagouz is an evidence that the strikes of the Fnetwalcons Cell were a strategic blow, and that the collapse of the so-called Caliphate in Syria helped the Syrian Democratic Forces to enter the last stronghold of ISIS in Bagouz," he further explained.

Basry also mentioned that the dismantlement of terrorist networks in Baaj District, west of Nineveh, was carried out by aerial landing operation in the late hours of last Monday. He further added that the operation was carried out backed by aerial coverage by the international coalition aviation.

"The operation resulted in the arrest of seven ISIS terrorists," Basry said.

Afghanistan
Afghans call for ceasefire as peace summit wraps up
The problem with hudnas is that they are required to only last as long as it takes for the party more beloved of Allah — as self-defined — to prepare to launch the next round of fighting.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Afghan officials called for a ceasefire on Thursday as a huge peace summit wound down in Kabul after thousands of delegates spent days discussing possible conditions for a peace deal with the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
This week’s "Loya Jirga," or grand assembly, saw more than 3,000 religious and tribal leaders, politicians and representatives from across the country gather under tight security to discuss the possibility of peace.

The Taliban, who were not at the talks, are this week separately meeting in Doha with US peace envoy Zalmay Khalilzad in a bid to make a deal with Washington that could see the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan.

While the full results of the summit may not be announced until Friday, several committee leaders said they wanted to see an immediate pause in violence, which has continued apace across Afghanistan even with various peace summits taking place.

"Every day, Afghans are being killed without any reason. An unconditional ceasefire must be announced," said Mohammad Qureshi, head of one of the jirga’s many committees.

Huge swathes of Afghan society worry that if the US does make a deal with the Taliban, the holy warrior group would try to seize power and undo advances in women’s rights, media freedoms, and legal protections.

The Taliban has steadfastly refused to talk to the Afghan government, which it views as a puppet regime.

That means that even if the US and the Taliban can agree to a deal to end the war and a timetable for an eventual troop withdrawal, the holy warriors must still forge some kind of an accord with Afghan politicians and tribal elders before an enduring ceasefire could kick in.

"We dont want such a peace that women’s rights are not respected, freedom of expression are not ensured, elections are not held," committee member Faizullah Jalal told the summit.

Several delegates also rejected Taliban and opposition calls for an interim government when President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
’s term expires this month.

"It is you who will show the government the way towards peace and the government will do what you demand," jirga chairman Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf said.

"No one will impose anything on you," he said.

Several opposition figures had boycotted the assembly, complaining it amounted to a political rally for Ghani, but Sayyaf said the summit was not aimed at supporting any particular candidate for the September presidential elections.

#1  Talk about burying the lede - what, exactly, did this woman lie about to the police? The only thing I can discern from the article is that she was doing 41 MPH in a 30 MPH zone and at some point later she lied about... something. Did she tell the bobby 'No, I wasn't speeding' or something to that effect (like I've done nearly every time I got a speeding ticket)? If that's the case, it's clear that some things in Britain are way over-criminalized.

India-Pakistan
Child marriage
[DAWN] JUST a day after the Senate approved a bill by the PPP’s Sherry Rehman to increase the minimum age of marriage to 18, a similar bill that was pushed by the PTI’s Ramesh Kumar Vankwani was heavily debated in the National Assembly.

Both bills agree on increasing the age of marriage to 18, but they differ on what punishment should be meted out for violations.

Interestingly, while the women parliamentarians of the PTI and PML-N seemed to be in favour of passing the bill, citing the example of other Muslim countries, their male compatriots remained divided on the issue. They could be heard either vocally opposing the bill or seen passively refraining from the vote.

Similarly, loud opposition could also be heard when the bill was passed in the Senate — expectedly from the religious parties, but also from some members of the government.

The reaction from some elected parliamentarians and senators is not surprising as we have witnessed similar responses each time such a move has been included in the national debate before. But it is still disheartening to note how many continue to endorse the marriage of children under the guise of religion.

Although Pakistan is a signatory to international rights treaties that recognise anyone under the age of 18 as a child, deep-rooted cultural beliefs are not easily eroded with a single flick of the pen.

So far, Sindh is the only province to have successfully increased the age of marriage to 18 — and that too after much opposition.

During the recent resistance, Senator Rehman correctly pointed out the inconsistencies in Pakistani laws when it comes to recognising who is a child. For instance, one cannot vote in elections before the age of 18; in fact, one cannot even be issued a CNIC. So how can these youngsters be considered mentally mature to be married off?

Early marriages deprive children of the right to complete their education, and they are forced to take on the burden of adult roles and responsibilities.

Young mothers face health-related complications during pregnancy and childbirth as their bodies are not yet fully developed. Having little to no agency, child brides are especially vulnerable to rape and domestic abuse.

Let it be said in unequivocal terms that child marriage is a harmful cultural practice that deprives the child — and particularly the girl child — of the opportunities that every individual deserves in life.

Egypt's astute move towards China's Belt and Road Initiative
Interesting map of the planned routes at the link.
[AlAhram] Ever since Chinese President Xi Jinping unveiled the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in 2013 debate has raged over the nature of the project, its merits, pros and cons. Regardless of what is motivating the debate, there are two basic facts that cannot be ignored: the project, which has already engaged a large number of countries, including traditional allies of the US, has become a part of the reality of the contemporary world, and the profits or losses accrued by any country will be contingent on its ability to interact effectively with the initiative and maximise the potential gains from linking with the initiative.

Egypt presents a unique case. From China’s perspective there was never any question over whether or not to include Egypt. It would be almost impossible to bypass the Suez Canal in the network of overland and maritime routes connecting China with the world, and Egypt lies at the intersection of many of the regions ‐ the Middle East, Europe, Africa ‐ covered by the initiative.

Egypt has clearly indicated to Beijing that it is interested in the initiative and has no misgivings about joining it. Egypt’s willingness to become a founding member of the China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and its senior-level participation in the first and second Belt and Road summit forums (May 2017 and April 2019) are testimony to this. Egypt could not have responded so positively had it not possessed a stable economy, a successful economic and fiscal reform programme, a reform process generating a healthier business and investment environment and balanced relations with all international powers.

Parents plead guilty in US college admissions bribery scandal
Good. At least they saved the state the cost of their trial.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, couple who paid $600,000 to help their children get into major universities pleaded guilty on Wednesday and agreed to cooperate with Sherlocks, potentially leading to new charges in the sweeping college admissions bribery scandal.

Bruce Isackson, a 62-year-old real estate developer, and his wife Davina were among dozens of people -- including celebrities and industry CEOs -- indicted in a scam to help children of the American elite gain entry into top colleges.

The Isacksons both pleaded guilty to one count of "conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud," the Justice Department said in a statement.

Bruce Isackson also pleaded guilty to "one count of money laundering conspiracy and one count of conspiracy to defraud" US tax authorities, the statement said.

The ringleader behind the scam, William "Rick" Singer, who authorities say was paid about $25 million dollars to bribe coaches and university administrators, has pleaded guilty and is cooperating with authorities.

Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka Mass Cancelled over 'Specific Attack Threat'
[AnNahar] Sri Lanka's Catholic Church has cancelled plans to resume Sunday services following a "specific threat" of fresh kabooms against at least two places of worship, a front man said.

The archbishop of Colombo, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, had wanted to resume regular mass from May 5, but the new information made them put it off indefinitely, his front man told AFP Thursday.

"On the advice of the security forces, we have decided not to have Sunday masses in any of the churches," the front man said. "There is a specific threat against two locations."

The Church had planned to resume Sunday public services for the first time since the Easter Sunday attacks that killed 257 people. Last Sunday the cardinal conducted a private memorial mass that was broadcast live on television after cancelling all public services.

On Tuesday, he said he was closely monitoring investigations into the April 21 suicide kabooms against three churches and three luxury hotels and wanted to be sure of the security situation before returning to regular services. The services were cancelled a day after all political parties scrapped May Day rallies amid fears of kabooms. The cardinal had hoped to start regular services at a few churches from Sunday and then expand depending on the situation.

- ARMED GUARDS -
Armed guards have been stationed outside churches across the country since the Easter attacks. The cardinal has also been given several bodyguards and a large security contingent. However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
he returned a bullet-proof limousine that was given by the government and instead travelled in an ordinary car.

"I am not afraid. I don't need bullet-proof vehicles to go about. The Lord is my protector," he said. "But I want security for my people, and for the country."

Police say they have placed in durance vile
Please don't kill me!
more than 150 suspects since the attacks and have accounted for all six jihadi suspects who were declared as most-wanted. Two suspects have been killed while the other four were in jug, police said.

The Easter attacks were blamed on the local National Thowheeth Jama'ath (NTJ) whose leader was among the jacket wallahs. The group had pledged an oath of allegiance to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
The corpse count from the attacks has climbed to 257, authorities said earlier Thursday, warning that the final number would rise further.

At least 40 of the dead are foreigners, with some missing tourists still to be accounted for.

According to the latest count, 496 injured were admitted to hospitals, with 47 still being treated and 12 of those in intensive care.

The government had given a toll of more than 350 but brought this down last week, blaming double counting of bodies that were badly mutilated in the six blasts.

Spain rules out giving Leopoldo López to the Venezuelan authorities
[ELUNIVERSAL] The Spanish government announced on Thursday that it will not hand over to the authorities Leopoldo López, a refugee in the residence of the Spanish ambassador in Caracas and the subject of an arrest warrant.

The government of Spain "in no case contemplates the delivery of Leopoldo López to the Venezuelan authorities nor his eviction from the Ambassador's Residence," the executive said in a statement from the Foreign Ministry, AFP reported.

In the text, the Executive of the socialist Pedro Sanchez, who in early February recognized the political leader Juan Guaidó as interim president, also recalls the "immunity and inviolability" enjoyed by both the embassy and the official residence of the ambassador.

Since April 30, López and his family are refugees in the residence of the Spanish ambassador "as guests," according to the Spanish statement. On Thursday, the Caracas court issued an arrest warrant for the opposition leader for violating "flagrantly" the house arrest he was held in August 2017.

Madrid made this position public after a meeting between its ambassador in Caracas and the foreign minister, Jorge Arreaza, to "analyze the situation," according to the statement.

In it, the Spanish government shows its confidence that the issue does not affect their bilateral relations and their desire to "find a solution as soon as possible."

‘Negative portrayal of Muslims in western media igniting hatred’
[DAWN] Persistent negative portrayal of Moslems in western media is igniting hatred against them and creating massive Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
, a British journalist, activist and author said on Wednesday.
*cough* Dhimmi!
Lauren Booth is a British television presenter, broadcaster, journalist and activist and author of Finding Peace in The Holy Land. She was delivering a talk on ’Islam and the West: Bridging the Gaps’ at the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS).

Ms Booth is the sister-in-law of former British prime minister Tony Blair, and one of the most high profile converts to Islam in the West.

During her talk, she was firm that the real job of Moslems was to hold onto their faith and not to lose it in the face of violence. She regarded the frequently used term "clash of civilisations" as highly inappropriate, maintaining that the objectives of Islam have never been to induce a clash among civilisations but to alleviate and upgrade them to an improved level.

#1  In 1970-71 Moslems killed qpproximately 3,000,000, that's three MILLION Hindu civiliians, mostly women and children in Bangladesh. Their Crime,? NOT being Moslems.
Pull a Hindu daddy's pants down and see he ISN'T Circumcised, and since you are a Moslem soldier you shoot Daddy in the crotch and leave him for the Buzzards, dogs and pigs to eat.) Allahu AKBAR.

The Indian govt invaded Moslem East Pakistan to put a stop to the Pakistani Moslem Govt killing of Hindu civilians and the war lasted just one dy short of two weeks with the Mighty Pak Army surrendering 93,000 prisoners. America sold ammunition to the Paks and sent an American Aircraft Carrier to Intimidate India. ( didn"t work ) Kissenger needed China and the Paks said they would speak to Mao and set up Nixon and Mao at the same table and make Nixon look good. So the Paks got 400 million $ of ammo. And then the India Army took half of Pakistan to the Trash can and the 93,000 Moslem Prisoners were shipped by cattle car in to Rann of Kutch ( the Mother of all Koochies) desert and handed shovels and sold back to Pakistan at a profit . But, you kind of expect that from Moslems, they are yellow piss as soldiers. ( have you noticed?). They may be the Religion of Piss, or was that Peace, but WHO actually has any respect for Moslems ? They kill people who are women and children and then 93,000 Moslems surrender when they get cornered by actual soldiers who CAN fight.

He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.
on suspicion of money laundering and financing terrorism, a judicial source told Rooters on Thursday.

In April, the prosecutor began investigating Bashir over accusations of money laundering and possession of large sums of foreign currency without legal grounds. Large sums of money were found in suitcases in his home.

‘Use of oil as weapon by nations threatens OPEC’
[DAWN] Any country using oil as a weapon could cause the collapse of oil producer group Opec, Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said on Wednesday, according to SHANA, the news outlet of the oil ministry.
Using oil as a weapon is why they have OPEC. I happened to be driving across country that year.
One would feel for them, if they hadn’t used oil as a weapon for nearly half a century. But right around the half century mark they will have discovered the hard way that this weapon points both ways. Now they can enjoy their return to their traditional role as Bedouins at the fringe of civilization — observers rather than actors on the world stage. Goodness knows the world will be better for lack of their interference.
Oil prices hit their highest since November in recent days after Washington said all waivers for those importing sanctions-hit Iranian oil would end this week, pressuring importers to stop buying from Tehran and further tightening global supply.

Drought affecting Panama Canal Traffic.
[SP Global] Panama Canal reduces maximum authorized draft in Neopanamax locks.

The Panama Canal Authority has reduced the maximum authorized draft for vessels transiting the Neopanamax locks for the fifth time this year, following a serious drought that has reduced water levels in two of the canal's largest tributary lakes.

The latest maximum authorized draft is 13.41 meters (44 feet), effective April 30. The previous maximum authorized draft was 13.72 meters (45 feet). When water levels are normal, the maximum draft for Neopanamax vessels is around 15.20 meters (50 feet).
According to Carlos Vargas, vice-president of environment and water for the PCA, Gatun -- the largest tributary lake to the canal -- was 1.40 meters below normal April/May levels and has dropped more than 0.2 meters since early April. The smaller lake Alajuela was 2.20 meters (7.20 feet) below usual levels.

"These low levels in the Panama Canal are the product of four or five months of almost zero precipitation," Vargas said in an interview with the Associated Press. "It has been the driest season we've had in the history of the canal. The flow of rivers to the lake is down 60%."

The imposed draft restrictions are likely to reduce canal traffic significantly, and dry bulk ship operators reported an uptick in fronthaul voyages from the US Gulf Coast heading East via the Cape of Good Hope instead. The New Orleans to Fangcheng, 66,000 mt grains route was assessed unchanged on the day Wednesday at $42.75/mt -- the highest rate so far in 2019.

On container ships, the market underwent a stronger General Rate Increase (GRI) at the start of May from PCR5 North Asia to East Coast North America, than on PCR13 North Asia to West Coast North America.

PCR5 rose to $2,700/FEU from $2,475/FEU at the end of April, with tighter capacity and increased demand adding fuel to the fire along these lanes. PCR13 rose $25 to $1,500/FEU Wednesday.

Mother-of-three allegedly burnt alive by husband, in-laws in Shakargarh tehsil
[DAWN] A mother-of-three was burnt alive on Wednesday, allegedly by her husband and his family members, in village Taajowal-Noor Kot of Punjab's Shakargarh tehsil over a domestic issue.

According to the first information report (FIR) filed of the incident, Nabeela Bibi was often tortured and administered brutal beatings by her husband Shehzad Ahmed and his family over minor domestic disputes.

The FIR, filed on the complaint of the victim's father, states that Nabeela had told her father of the beatings and the husband's alleged threat to kill her just a day prior to her murder.

The father said that when he visited the daughter's home the next day with a view to mediate, he found that his in-laws were abusing his daughter.

He said that his presence infuriated the in-laws, who confined him in a room. The complainant alleges that the victim's husband, his father Muhammad Boota, mother Rani Bibi and younger brother Ishtiaq Ahmed then tied Nabeela up to a charpoi, doused her with kerosene oil and set her on fire, the complainant alleges.

The suspects had expeditiously departed at a goodly pace following the incident. However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
Noor Kot cop shoppe's station house officer (SHO) Muhammad Shehbaz Cheema later told Dawn that the husband and his parents have both been placed in durance vile
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
The SHO said that the husband's younger sibling, the sole suspect still on the lam, would also be arrested soon and that further investigations into the case are underway.

Former DHS CSO Marshall: Moving Background Checks to DoD ‘Makes Perfect Sense'
[Homeland Security Today] Former Department of Homeland Security Chief Security Officer Greg Marshall says that "from an operational efficiency standpoint, it makes perfect sense" to fold the National Background Investigation Bureau and the Defense Security Service into the new Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) created by executive order last week.

President Trump signed the executive order solidifying the expected shift in government-wide background investigation duties from the Office of Personnel Management to the Defense Department.

The NBIB will be able to perform background investigations on behalf of DoD during a transition period running through Sept. 30, though the date for DoD to become the "primary entity for conducting effective, efficient, and secure background investigations" for sensitive positions is June 24. By the latter date, DoD is expected to have worked out what OPM’s "appropriate support functions" will be. Personnel are expected to be moved from NBIB to DCSA.

"This executive order reflects the administration’s commitment to reform the personnel vetting enterprise to ensure a trusted federal workforce and achieve an efficient, effective, and secure operation that meets all government-wide needs for background investigations," the Defense Department said in a statement Thursday, adding that "efforts to undertake the transfer of OPM’s background investigation function and associated personnel, resources, and facilities to DOD will begin immediately."

Marshall told HSToday he believes that giving DCSA responsibility for the government-wide security clearance processes "will eliminate redundant personnel security processes across the entirety of government."

"I believe this decision to merge vetting, adjudication, continuous evaluation and counterintelligence programs under one umbrella will reduce investigative backlogs ‐ a longstanding problem ‐ and likely result in significant cost savings," he added.

Security forces cleanse border strip with Syria
Anbar (IraqiNews) al-Hashd al-Shaabi Forces from Anbar Operations Command announced, on Thursday, launching a large operation to cleanse the border strip with Syria, while pointed out that their forces will use three main axes to deploy on the area.

The Command Chief, Qassim Musleh, said in a press statement, "Our security forces launched, at dawn today, a large military operation to cleanse the borders, with the cooperation of the 13th, 17th, 18th and 19th brigades of the different directorates of al-Hashd al-Shaabi.

"Our forces will enter the area from three main axes and deploy on the border strip," he added. "Our security forces are ready to deter any danger, in case holy warriors take their routes towards the Iraqi border following the Syrian army offensives," he further explained.
The Jerusalem Post adds:

in rural areas near the Syrian border, according to Iran’s Tasnim News.

An operations command in Iraq’s western Anbar province released a statement saying that four units would participate, including armored vehicles as well as engineering and communications forces. Border guards would also assist. al-Manar media, which is linked to Hezbollah, said the operation would clear 230 km. of border. This area was taken from ISIS in 2017 by the PMU but it remained restive ‐ and ISIS members were able to hide out in these desert areas.

Recent reports showed ISIS activity stretching across some areas of Iraq from the Hamreen Mountains and near Makhmur all the way to Syria.

SC wraps up Lal Masjid suo motu case after govt assurance
[DAWN] The Supreme Court on Thursday disposed of a suo motu
...a legal term, from the Latin. Roughly translated it means I saw what you did, you bastard...
case concerning the affairs of Lal Masjid
...literally the Red Mosque, located in Islamabad and frequented by all sorts of high govt officials. The proprietors, Ghazi Abdul Rasheed and Maulana Abdul Aziz Ghazi, unleashed their Islamic storm troopers on the city, shutting down whorehouses and beating people up who weren't devout enough. The Musharraf govt put an end to the nonsense by besieging the place. Abdul Aziz Ghazi was nabbed while he was trying to escape dressed up like a girl. BBC reported that the corpse count at 173, but other claims, usually hysterical, say there were up to 1000 titzup. Among their number was Abdul Rashid Ghazi. Everyone then said tut-tut and what a nice guy he had been...
after receiving an assurance from the attorney general that the Jamia Hafsa
... the Islamic nunnery maintained by Lal Masjid....
seminary will be reconstructed.

Firebrand Lal Masjid holy man Maulana Abdul Aziz
...nutball holy man who runs the Lal Masjid in the heart of Pakistain's capital. After instigating a rebellion against the state in 2007, he was caught trying to sneak away dressed in a burka. He rejects democracy as un-Islamic, which it probably is...
had in 2015 petitioned the court to ensure that the families of those killed in the July 2007 military operation were paid blood money.

After the operation, the government and the mosque administration, led by Maulana Aziz, had reached an agreement under which the Capital Development Authority would provide an alternative site for the reconstruction of the Jamia Hafsa seminary.

The petition, among other demands, had also called for the CDA to build a new madressah in place of the seminary for women that had been damaged in the 2007 operation and later razed to the ground.

Aziz had also asked the court to order the federal government to implement its October 2, 2007 judgement in the case.

Attorney General of Pakistain Anwar Mansoor Khan was present in court today as a two-judge bench headed by Justice Gulzar Ahmed heard the case.

Khan assured the court of the construction of the seminary, and said that, administratively, it would fall under the government's control.

Aziz's laywer, Advocate Tariq Asad, came to the rostrum to argue that the case was not about one plot, but linked to various matters.

Justice Gulzar asked Asad to apprise the court of what angles of the case had been overlooked, to which the lawyer was unable to furnish an adequate response.

Both Justice Gulzar and Asad then exchanged sharp words, with the lawyer telling the court he was not arguing the case "just to pass the time" and the judge expressing his displeasure with the remark.

Gustavo Tarre denounced the operation of Hezbollah and the Islamic State in Venezuela before the OAS
[ELUNIVERSAL] Venezuela's permanent representative to the OAS, Gustavo Tarré, appointed by opposition leader Juan Guaidó, sworn in as interim president of the country, said Thursday that Hezbollah and the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group (EI) are operating in Venezuelan territory, noting that the The country has become "an important center of world terrorism".

Tarré said this during an extraordinary session of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS), convened by Colombia, the United States and Venezuela itself to analyze "the role of external actors" in the country shaken since January by a bid by the power between Guaidó, and Nicolás Maduro.

Venezuela has become "a destabilizing factor for the peace of the entire region," said Tarré, highlighting the interference of Cuba, Russia and Iran, all allies of Maduro.

"The most visible evidence" is the transfer to Venezuela of Colombia's internal conflict, which has strong ties to the Cuban revolution: currently, the National Liberation Army (ELN), the last active Colombian guerrilla, is present in 13 of the 23 states Venezuelans, he said.

Tarré pointed out that Venezuela has also "been involved in extra-continental conflicts such as Syria, in activities against the existence of the State of Israel, and in a very privileged relationship with Iran," which was strengthened after last year's departure from the United States. agreement with Tehran and other powers to stop Iranian nuclear development.

"Since then, the presence of Iranian mining technicians has increased in Venezuela in an absolutely noticeable way," he said.

He added: "We also know of the existence of training and identity supply centers for Hezbollah terrorists, of the Islamic State, known by its acronym in English ISIS, which have made Venezuela an important center of world terrorism."

In early February, two weeks after Guaidó invoked the constitution and declared himself interim president after considering a "fraud" the re-election of Maduro, the head of US diplomacy, Mike Pompeo, said Hezbollah was active in Venezuela.

Then, Maduro, whose mandate is unknown to the United States, but supported among others by Hezbollah, defined the Lebanese Shiite group close to Tehran as "a legal political party" and highlighted the existence of a Lebanese community in Venezuela.

Tarré, however, alerted the OAS members to the "threat" that this foreign interference poses to the region.

"It is not limited to the Venezuelan borders, it is to set foot on the American continent, in the Western Hemisphere," he said.

Four Civilians Killed In Cross-Line Shelling By Pakistani
[ToloNews] At least four non-combatants were killed and fives others were maimed after Pakistain troops started shelling on the Afghan side of the Durand Line on Wednesday night, local officials said on Thursday.

The shelling started at 9 pm local time and the Pak troops targeted Sarkot, Pakha Mela and Afghan Dubai villages in Spera district in the province, a front man for provincial governor, Adil Haidar, confirmed.

Meanwhile,
...back at the desert island, Bert was realizing to his horror that he'd had only one bottle for one message, and he'd forgotten to include a return address...
a security delegation, including deputy security chief of the Interior Ministry, visited Khost province
... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name...
on Thursday to "review the situation", officials said.

The attack come hours after Pakistain forces claimed that at least three Pak soldiers were killed and seven others were maimed when a group of faceless myrmidons from the Afghan side of the Durand Line attacked Pak troops in Alwara, North Wazoo.

"While Pakistain security forces are solidifying border security through fencing and construction of forts to deny liberty of action to the terrorists, Afghan Security Forces and the authorities need to have more effective control in [the] border region to support Pakistain’s efforts as well as deny use of Afghan soil against Pakistain," the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement published by Pak news agencies.

The Pak military’s media wing added that Pakistain’s fencing efforts will continue despite "all such impediments".

Meanwhile,
...back at the Hubba Hubba Club, Big Shirley was still trying to snatch Nunzio bald-headed. She was already halfway there...
the Afghan Charge d’ Affaires was called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad where he was informed about Pakistain’s concerns about repeated cross-Durand Line attacks from Afghanistan’s soil.

The Afghan diplomat was informed that Pakistain strongly protests such provocations which are detrimental to peace and stability along Pakistain-Afghanistan border.

The Afghan side was urged to take immediate action against the elements on their side and ensure effective measures so that such incidents are not repeated in future.

The Grand Turk
Turkey must hand over ‘murderers’ of alleged Palestinian spy, says cousin
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Ever since Ottoman Turkish authorities said that Paleostinian Zaki Mubarak who was charged by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
with espionage hung himself at Istanbul’s Silivri prison, all analyses in Ottoman Turkish media outlets have been focusing on the information which the Ottoman Turkish authorities revealed, and almost all published material in this context matched the official narrative.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Senate, Odius Sepulcher called for war against the Visigoths...
Lawyer Abas Mubarak, Zaki’s cousin, said the suicide story promoted by these media outlets is not true because Zaki did not have any tools to kill himself, adding that the purpose of promoting this narrative is to hide the truth.

He also warned Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
of hiding the truth behind Zaki’s "murder," and called on him to hand over the murderers to relevant courts.

Earlier this week, Istanbul’s prosecutor’s office said that Zaki Mubarak, who was held on suspicion of spying for the United Arab Emirates, has died in prison after hanging himself.

But, in an exclusive interview with Al Arabiya, the Paleostinian man’s family members rejected the Ottoman Turkish authorities’ statement, calling it "a mere charade," and accusing Turkey of killing him.

Zaki’s brother, Zakaria Mubarak, said in an interview with Al Arabiya that initially Ottoman Turkish authorities claimed the two detained men were UAE citizens. He added they later announced the men were Paleostinian, which he said proves that they are lying about his cause of death.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Senate, Odius Sepulcher called for war against the Visigoths...
in a Skype interview with Al Arabiya from Gazoo, his son Yusuf called for forming an international commission to investigate his father’s death.

He also questioned the Ottoman Turkish story, asserting that his father did not commit suicide, and accusing Ottoman Turkish security forces of killing him. Yusuf added that his father was a victim and "a scapegoat in a political conflict."

President Trump has been making vague threats, and there has been talk of plans... but as others have commented, the DoD has plans for every contingency including invading Canada. I think the noises are more to concentrate certain minds rather than actual intention.

Baltimore mayor quits over children's books corruption scandal
[WashngtonExaminer] Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh will resign later on Thursday, according to a new report.
Ballymore's own Jar Jar Binks
The Baltimore Afro-American Newspaper reported Thursday that Pugh told its publisher she plans to step down from her post Thursday, effective immediately. Pugh’s attorney Steve Silverman told CBS Baltimore that a press conference will be held at his office Thursday, but didn’t disclose why the press conference was being held.

Pugh, who has been on paid medical leave for approximately a month due to pneumonia, has faced pressure to step down from her post amid an investigation into the sales of her children's book, Healthy Holly.

FBI Used 'Honeypot' Spy To Tag-Team Papadopoulos In London Russiagate Setup: NYT
[ZeroHedge] A mysterious Turkish woman who "assisted" FBI spy Stefan Halper in a London operation targeting Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos has been revealed as yet another FBI operative sent to spy on the Trump campaign during the 2016 US election, according to the New York Times.

The woman, who went by the name Azra Turk, repeatedly flirted with Papadopoulos during their encounters as well as in email exchanges according to an October, 2018 Daily Caller report, confirmed today by the Times. "Turk," posed as Halper's assistant according to the report.

Senate upholds veto of Yemen resolution
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The US Senate on Thursday sustained President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s veto of a resolution demanding an end to military support for the Arab-led coalition’s war against Iran-backed Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebels in Yemen, in a victory for the White House’s policy of continued backing for Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
The vote was 53 to 45, falling short of the two-thirds majority of 67 votes needed to override Trump’s veto in the 100-member chamber, and the minority Democratic camp could only muster crossover support from a handful of Republicans.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who supports Trump on Yemen, said the vote offered politicians "a second chance to send the right message regarding America’s commitments to our partners in the region, to important humanitarian missions, and to eradicating al-Qaeda from the Arabian peninsula."

It was only the second veto of Trump’s presidency. Both have been upheld.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Checkmate. How President Trump's legal team outfoxed Mueller
[Human Events] When the Mueller Report was released on April 18th, most commentators focused on the "explosive" factual allegations. But other than the shocking revelation that the President once used an expletive in private, very few of those facts were novel; most were leaked long ago.

At the end of Volume II of the Mueller Report, however, there were 20 pages of genuinely new material.

There, the former FBI director turned Special Counsel Robert Mueller defended his "Application of Obstruction-Of-Justice Statutes To The President." These overlooked 20 pages were dedicated to defending Mueller’s interpretation of a single subsection of a single obstruction-of-justice statute: 18 U.S.C. § 1512(c)(2).

That’s quite strange, but you know what’s stranger still?

In June 2018, Bill Barr, then in private practice at Kirkland & Ellis, wrote a detailed legal memorandum to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. This memo came to light in December, when Barr was nominated for Attorney General.

The subject was Mueller’s interpretation of the aforementioned 18 U.S.C. § 1512(c)(2).

When Barr’s memo first appeared, prominent liberal legal commentators were perplexed. Georgetown Law professor Marty Lederman wrote at Just Security:
Also submitted by Anomalous Sources, who commented, “In toto, a most interesting presentation and analysis, imo.”

#2  So only with the broadest interpretation of an obscure and deliberately vague subsection of the law did Mueller have the slightest chance of making the obstruction charge stick. But when Barr was confirmed as AG, Mueller knew how that subsection would be interpreted so he quit. And now there's nothing the Democrats can do about it except make a mess with greasy KFC crumbs all over the floor of a House Judiciary committee hearing.

I missed the part where Hirono tried to grill him but I saw how he made Feinstein look like the pathetic and feeble minded old woman she is. DiFi really has lost it and it was fun to watch.

Here We Go – FBI Admits Using Spies Against Trump Campaign…
Posted as a comment yesterday by our friend and fellow poster who has trekked the old stone bridge at Betws-y-Coed.
[Last Refuge] A report in the New York Times, transparently timed and placed by officials within the intelligence apparatus trying to get out ahead of internal investigations, outlines how the FBI sent counterintelligence spies to engage with Trump campaign officials in 2016.

In a stunning admission The New York Times describes how the FBI enlisted a female agent to work the "operation" in the U.K. during August-September 2016 posing as an aide for U.S. intelligence asset/FBI informant Stefan Halper.
NYT [...] The woman had set up the meeting to discuss foreign policy issues. But she was actually a government investigator posing as a research assistant, according to people familiar with the operation. The F.B.I. sent her to London as part of the counterintelligence inquiry opened that summer to better understand the Trump campaign’s links to Russia.

The American government’s affiliation with the woman, who said her name was Azra Turk, is one previously unreported detail of an operation that has become a political flash point in the face of accusations by President Trump and his allies that American law enforcement and intelligence officials spied on his campaign to undermine his electoral chances. Last year, he called it "Spygate."

Ms. Turk went to London to help oversee the politically sensitive operation, working alongside a longtime informant, the Cambridge professor Stefan A. Halper. The move was a sign that the bureau wanted in place a trained investigator for a layer of oversight, as well as someone who could gather information for or serve as a credible witness in any potential prosecution that emerged from the case.

A spokesman for the F.B.I. declined to comment, as did a lawyer for Mr. Halper, Robert D. Luskin. Last year, Bill Priestap, then the bureau’s top counterintelligence agent who was deeply involved in the Russia inquiry, told Congress during a closed-door hearing that there was no F.B.I. conspiracy against Mr. Trump or his campaign.
Obviously the group (CIA, DOJ and FBI) who constructed the political surveillance and spy operations are trying to present their side of the story, prior to investigation by AG Bill Barr and the soon-to-be-released IG report.

Halper was an FBI operative and Cambridge professor who set up meetings with Trump campaign advisor George Papadopoulos. The female agent used a fake name, Azra Turk, and presented herself as an assistant to Stefan Halper; however, she was actually an undercover intelligence operative of the FBI.

Trump Coup Biggest Violation of Constitution in History – Kevin Shipp
By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com (Early Sunday Release)

President Trump says the Deep State tried and failed to remove him from office in a coup. Former CIA Officer and whistleblower Kevin Shipp says the attempted coup on Trump was a global conspiracy. Shipp explains, “Yes, this is a coup. This is the most shocking violation of the Constitution and criminal activity in the history, not just of America, but of a western government. Much of this rises to the level of treason. People need to understand how shocking this is. It was a clear conspiracy. There will be arrests and indictments without question. . . . This was a coup. It was a conspiracy. It was criminal activity. These people need to be indicted, charged and need to be put in prison, and if they’re not, then our Constitution is nothing more than a sham. This was a coup against a duly elected President, and people need to understand how serious this is.”

Shipp adds, “We have a not so covert civil war going on right now that has been brewing over 60 years. We have the ‘Dark Left,’ and the DNC is fully involved with all their Congressmen and Senators. There is a Marxist movement within the DNC that is in control right now. You can match up the progressive goals with Marxist documents, and you can see they are one in the same. . . . They have to change and eliminate the Constitution. . . . They want to change the First Amendment and the Second Amendment first of all. Second of all, they despise and are targeting Christianity because Christianity . . . underlines the Constitution and is mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. That’s their second target they have to destroy. Their third target is the founding principles of America. That’s our culture. They have to destroy those three things if they are going to overturn our Constitution and turn this into a global Marxist government. That is not an understatement. . . . It’s not the same party of JFK. It’s now a Marxist party and an umbrella for every victim, twisted and perverted group that has nowhere else to go. This is a mortal blow to the Democrat Party when these things come out.”

Shipp predicts President Trump will declassify more than anyone can imagine. Shipp says, “They have been using ‘classification’ as a way to cover up illegal activity. The CIA has, especially in the case of this coup, not just in this, but in other things they have done criminally. They have been withholding things from Congress using ‘classification’ for decades. Trump knows what those are, and he is going to demand that classification is removed so the American people can see it. I am going to be dancing on top of my house if and when that happens.”
Emphasis added para 2.

Huge crowds join sit-in outside Sudan’s defense ministry
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Hundreds of thousands of protesters joined a sit-in outside Sudan’s defense ministry on Thursday to press the ruling military council to hand over to a civilian government.

An alliance of activists and opposition groups called the Alliance of Freedom and Change had called for a mass march in the capital.

The Alliance is now demanding that the military council which took Bashir’s place be replaced by a joint civilian-military council, although they say the number of members is yet to be finalized.

On Thursday, protest leaders presented the council with a proposal for the new civilian structures they want see rule the country.

Protest leader Satea al-Haj told news hounds that the transitional civilian government should be of 17 ministers, while the legislative body should include 120 to 150 members.

He said the alliance was expecting a response from the military council in "48 to 72 hours".

The protest leaders insisted on Thursday that the civilian administration they intend to establish must include representatives from gangs who spent years battling Khartoum during the regime of ousted leader Omar al-Bashir
Head of the National Congress Party.

Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.

Three gangs are currently part of the Alliance for Freedom and Change which spearheaded protests since December that led to the ouster of Bashir.

"We will not have a transitional (civilian) structure without representatives from the gangs," said Khalid Omar Yusef, a leader from the Alliance for Freedom and Change umbrella group which has led the protest movement.

He did not name specific gangs.

Since 2003, Sudan has been rocked by rebellions in Darfur, South Kordofan and Blue Nile regions.

Tens of thousands of people have died in those areas since ethnic minority rebels picked up arms against the forces of Bashir, accusing his administration of political and economic marginalization.

In recent years, the violence has waned as rebels and Khartoum reached a series of ceasefires, but none of the rebel groups joined a civilian administration during Bashir’s iron-fisted rule.

Many Darfuris feel that their demand for justice for Bashir-era officials should be a bigger priority for protest leaders.

[DAWN] Facebook on Thursday banned black activist leader Louis Farrakhan, far-right icon Alex Jones and several others from its main service and from Instagram in a heightened crackdown on hate content at the leading social network.

"We've always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hate, regardless of ideology," Facebook said in a statement.

"The process for evaluating potential violators is extensive and it is what led us to our decision to remove these accounts today."

#6  First, stop all the bleeding heart liberals from feeding these people. Do away with all minimum wage laws because these people aren't worth minimum wages. Then set up little factories where they can do piece work like weaving cheap rugs or baskets or any of the multitude of items that are being made in places like China. Call them sweat shops if you will. They would pay pennies, enough for a burger and fries at a fast food restaurant. The more pieces they made, the more pennies they'd be paid. Pay them what they're worth. Wouldn't that be better than having them live on the sidewalks? Tell the homeless bums they have a choice between working and starving. Let them live in tents or plywood boxes. If the people of San Francisco want the sweat shops in downtown San Francisco, that's their business but I'd prefer to set them up in the desert where land is cheaper and we don't have to look at them anymore.

So, now that I've solved that problem can I please have my $30 million?

Some of the homeless are as you said, but there are many others who do work full time jobs or two, and they still cannot afford a place to live.

The problem doesn't just lay with the homeless, but also on the "rent seekers".

Of course, nobody want to blame the rich rent seekers, so they look elsewhere to blames.

#3  Nah, its only 8 hours of hands on training. The remainder is having to plow through reams of legalistic documents on when and when not to use force making the RoEs in the ME look like a comic book in comparison.

Teenage boy killed, sister critically injured in 'unprovoked' Indian firing from across LoC
[DAWN] A teenage boy was killed and his younger sibling critically injured in Azad Jammu and Kashmire (AJK) on Thursday after Indian troops resorted to "unprovoked" firing from across the restive Line of Control (LoC), officials said.

The casualties, according to Zubair Gillani, a police official in Forward Kahuta, occurred in Akhori village situated in closest proximity of the LoC in Nezapir sector of Haveli district.

The police official identified the dear departed as 15-years-old Tahir and the injured as 12-year-old Tahira, both children of Muhammad Hafeez.

According to Muhammad Zaheer, district disaster management officer in Haveli, Indian troops resorted to ceasefire violations at about 7am "without any provocation".
