The Inspector General's Report Will Expose the MSM as Treasonous
[PJ] One of the more notable differences between Watergate and the metastasizing scandals involving the FBI, our intelligence agencies, and the Obama administration -- subjects of the soon-to-be-released inspector general's report -- is that the media exposed Watergate. They aided and abetted the current transgressions.

By providing a willing and virtually unquestioned repository for every anonymous leaker (as long as he or she was on the "right" side) in Washington and beyond, the press has evolved from being part of the solution to being a major part of the problem. Gone are the days of the true "whistle-blower." Here are the days of the special interest provocateur, shaping public opinion by passing on half-truths and outright lies to their favorite reporter. One might then even call the media, in Orwell's words, "objectively pro-fascist," functioning much in the manner of Pravda and Izvestia during that famous author's time, covertly or overtly pushing the party line in the most slavish and orthodox manner while feigning "objectivity."

CNN, NBC, the Washington Post and The New York Times -- misinforming the public as it hasn't since the days of their great Stalin-excuser Walter Duranty (still pictured on their Pulitzer wall of honor) -- are particularly egregious in this regard. But there are many others.

#4  My position is that 1st Amendment referred to the technology of the dissemination during the period, not institutions protected by corporate shuffling from the consequences of their acts in an open market. This internet is far more aligned with the intent of the 1st's protection than anything of the Legacy Infotainment Enterprises.

Further, the 14th providing equal protection of the law blows out the judicial fiction of two classes of private and public personalities for processing claims of libel. If nothing less, then application of product liability should apply to the LSM as much as any 'evil' capitalist business they so enjoy exposing.

Informant Spied on Trump Campaign Before the FBI Officially Began Its Probe
BLUF:
[Breitbart] The Post notes the informant’s role raises questions about how he first became involved in the case, the extent of the information he provided, the actions he took to obtain intelligence for the FBI, and whether his interaction with Page was for the FBI or for another agency, such as the CIA.

Details about the informant began leaking to the Times and the Post after House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes inquired about the informant last month.

Officials initially went to the White House to try to stop Nunes from receiving the information, according to the Post. After first denying his request, last week, Justice Department officials briefed Nunes and Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC).

#2  Since opposition research is not illegal, even if with Russians, the 'spying' must have been part of a longstanding investigation of Trump-Russia financial dealings, or more likely, part of an investigation of Clinton security breaches. Trump is only at risk for false statements (on purpose or not) to the FBI.

Dems lecture pubs on alleged FBI source disclosure
[The Hill] Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) warned Republican lawmakers on Friday not to expose the identity of a secret FBI informant, saying that to do so would be "irresponsible" ‐ and potentially illegal.

"It would be at best irresponsible, and at worst potentially illegal, for members of Congress to use their positions to learn the identity of an FBI source for the purpose of undermining the ongoing investigation into Russian interference in our election," Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said in a statement.

"Anyone who is entrusted with our nation’s highest secrets should act with the gravity and seriousness of purpose that knowledge deserves," he added.

US judge scraps Oakland, California, ban on coal shipments
[San Diego U-T] A federal judge in California on Tuesday struck down the city of Oakland's ban on coal shipments at a proposed cargo terminal, siding with a developer who wants to use the site to transport Utah coal to Asia.

In a scathing ruling, U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria in San Francisco said the information the city relied on to conclude the coal operations would pose a substantial health or safety danger to the public was "riddled with inaccuracies, major evidentiary gaps, erroneous assumptions, and faulty analyses, to the point that no reliable conclusion about health or safety dangers could be drawn from it."
"It's an emotional tantrum from virtue-signalling children"
The city attorney's office did not immediately have comment.

City leaders approved construction of a rail and marine terminal in 2013 as part of a larger makeover of an Army base that was shuttered in 1999.

The $250 million project in west Oakland ‐ a historically African-American neighborhood that is among the poorest and most polluted in the region ‐ was expected to bring thousands of construction and shipping jobs.
Better to starve in poverty so the SJW can preen
Oakland officials said coal had never been mentioned as a possibility. Lawyers for the developers said city officials always knew there would be a mix of goods, including coal.

Concerned about air pollution caused by coal dust, the city moved in 2016 to ban shipments of coal and petroleum coke, a solid derived from oil refining. The decision came after Utah lawmakers approved a $53 million investment to help ship the state's coal through Oakland to Asia.

One of the developers of the project, Phil Tagami, sued for breach of contract. Tagami has deep ties to the city and California Gov. Jerry Brown , a former Oakland mayor.

Brown, whose environmental efforts have made him a global leader in the fight against climate change, has not spoken out publicly against the project.

Chhabria agreed with attorneys for the developers that the city relied on a flawed analysis to justify its ban. As an example, he said the city failed to factor in covers on the coal-carrying rail cars in its emissions estimates for the project.

It also had no meaningful assessment of how emissions would affect air quality in Oakland, he said.

The city's opposition to coal operations appeared to stem largely from concerns about global warming, but it was "facially ridiculous to suggest that this one operation resulting in the consumption of coal in other countries will, in the grand scheme of things, pose a substantial global warming-related danger to people in Oakland," the judge said.

Why TRUMP Tweets
h/t Instapundit
...In a tweet Thursday, Trump cited the National Review article suggesting that the FBI source was really a "confidential informant in the campaign."

"If so, this is bigger than Watergate!" he tweeted.

If true, it is 1,000 times bigger than Watergate. But until now, wild horses couldn’t have pulled the facts that have been steadily emerging about the real scandals of the 2016 election out of the AP. Why does the AP grudgingly cover them now? Because they were tweeted by President Trump.

Brennan 'Needs Very Good Lawyer' Says DiGenova; 'He's Going To Be In Front Of A Grand Jury Shortly'
[Zero Hedge] Veteran D.C. attorney Joe diGenova - who President Trump initially wanted to hire to represent him in the Mueller probe, only to have to step aside due to conflicts - sat down on Fox News on Thursday where he put a bow on what many believe was a high-stakes gamble by various members within the Obama Intelligence Community (IC) and others to infiltrate the Trump campaign and frame Donald Trump with Russiagate.

Key among the participants in this alleged plot is former CIA director John Brennan, whose involvement is thought to have dovetailed with the FBI's recently disclosed "operation Crossfire Hurricane" - the code name given to the agency's earliest counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign. The FBI says the operation was launched following a drunken conversation between a Clinton-linked Australian ambassador and a low-level Trump associate, George Papadopoulos, who may have been set up from the start after being fed information by a professor named Joseph Mifsud, who is currently missing.

Clapper: It's ‘A Good Thing' FBI Was Spying On Trump Campaign
[Daily Caller] Former Director of Intelligence James Clapper said Thursday night on CNN that it was "a good thing" there was an FBI informant spying on the Trump campaign.

Clapper admitted the FBI "may have had someone who was talking to them in the campaign," referring to President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. He explained away the possibility of an FBI informant spying on the campaign as the bureau was trying to find out "what the Russians were doing to try to substantiate themselves in the campaign or influence or leverage it."

Obama’s Director of National Intelligence then went on to say, "So, if there was someone that was observing that sort of thing, that’s a good thing."

He also stated he believes "it’s hugely dangerous if someone like that is exposed because the danger to that person" and the potential "reluctance of others to be informants for the FBI" could possibly devastate the FBI.

Hamas chief says group looking to expand clashes to West Bank
[IsraelTimes] The leader of Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbung millipede, says the terror group will work to expand the violent border festivities in Gazoo to the West Bank.

Speaking at Gazoo City’s Great Mosque, Ismail Haniyeh
...became Prime Minister after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
vows the violent "March of Return" protests will continue, after they dropped off dramatically following Monday’s deadly riots.

"The March of Return will continue until it achieves its goals, among them expressing opposition to the Trump [peace] deal," Channel 10 reports Haniyeh as saying. "The march will not stop until the blockade on the Gazoo Strip is fully lifted. We won’t accept half-solutions."

Haniyeh also addresses reports earlier in the week that Israel warned Hamas it would target its leaders if the terror group does not rein in the festivities.

"These are rumors that don’t scare us. We grew up on the values of deaders. Our blood ‐ the commanders ‐ is not more dear than the blood of the Gazook people," Haniyeh says.

Unfortunately, a couple of their West Bank operatives got bored and kidnapped three Haredi schoolboys. In the hunt that followed, the Israelis disovered much and arrested more, pretty much spiking Hamas’s guns.

Israel builds unique ‘missile net’ to protect new airport near Eilat
[IsraelTimes] New barrier, developed specifically to help secure the airport, is part of defenses along the Jordan border

Israel has built a unique "missile net" to defend a new airport, as part of a newly completed segment of its eastern border barrier, a military official said Friday.

The 34-kilometer (21-mile) fence runs along Israel’s border with Jordan, beginning near the Israeli Red Sea resort of Eilat and reaching the site of a new airport being constructed in the Timna Valley.

The fence, 6 meters (20 feet) high, is part of a broader strategy by Israel to surround itself by protective barriers, including at its southwestern border with Egypt, to prevent bully boyz and migrants colonists crossing the border illegally.

Part of the new segment is accompanied by a 26-meter "net" developed specifically to protect the new Ramon airport.

The missile fence is designed to intercept projectiles and surface-to-surface missiles, the official said.

Neighboring Jordan is one of only two Arab states to have a peace treaty with Israel, but is home to some krazed killer sympathizers and a number of radical holy mans.

The airport, some 19 kilometers (11 miles) north of Eilat, is expected to begin operation in late 2018 or early 2019 and boost tourism in the area.

Iraq
Six Kurdish parties consider withdrawing from Iraqi political process
[Rudaw] ERBIL, Kurdistan Region ‐ After receiving no response to their calls for a manual recount or a full do-over of the election in the Kurdistan Region and the disputed territories because of reports of fraud, six Kurdish parties are contemplating pulling out of the political process.

Gorran’s National Assembly "will next week discuss the party’s decision to withdraw from the political process," the party’s media announced on Friday.

Gorran, the Coalition for Democracy and Justice (CDJ), the Kurdistan Islamic League (Komal), the Kurdistan Communist Party, the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU), and the Kurdistan Islamic Movement (IMK) have formed a united front as they protest "systematic and pre-planned fraud" in last Saturday’s parliamentary elections.

The leadership of all six of the parties are contemplating withdrawing from the Iraqi political process.

According to preliminary official results, the PUK won in Sulaimani and Kirkuk by a large margin.

The election commission has so far rejected calls for a revote or a manual recount and has come under fire for allegations of violations.

"We the six parties will not accept this result and will explore all options after being disappointed in the electoral commission. The body we have formed represents peoples’ objections too," said Irfan Abdulaziz, IMK leader, according to Gorran’s Sbeiy media.

Mohammed Hakim, a member of Komal’s political council, said his party will also have a meeting in order to discuss withdrawal from the political process.

Separately, New Generation has also contested the results, filing a lawsuit in Baghdad against Iraq's electoral commission on Monday. The KDP has backed a manual recount in Sulaimani.

The PUK has asked for the results in Kirkuk to be approved.

The election commission was expected to release final results 10pm local time on Friday, but pushed the announcement back by an hour.

Qaeda chief in Syria: no merger with other groups
[ALMASDARNEWS] Commander of al-Qaeda-linked group in Syria denied reports about the group’s intention to dissolve and merge with other rebel factions in Syria’s north.

In a speech delivered after Friday prayers, Abu Mohammed al-Jolani told a congregation that all reports about creating a merger with any other group ‐ including Faylaq al-Sham ‐ are farce and untrue.

"The organizational structure of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
is something not to be negotiated or bargained about outside the HTS circle of leadership", he said.

Unconfirmed reports circulated recently stated that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
is seeking to create a new rebel alliance which includes all FSA-affiliated groups in northern Syria such as Free Idlib Army, Jaish al-Izza, Jaish al-Nasser, 1st Coastal Division, as well as Faylaq al-Sham which is expected to lead the alliance.

Yesterday, Turkey has set up the 12th and last observation post in the west countryside of Idlib province as per Astana peace talks.

Syrian Army’s on the brink of victory in Hajar Al-Aswad
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army launched a big attack, yesterday, to counter the so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
’s (ISIS) previous offensive that took place earlier that afternoon.

Led by their 42nd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division and 105th Brigade of the Elite Republican Guard, the Syrian Army took the battle to the remaining Islamic State Lions of Islam in Hajar al-Aswad, seizing more ground from the terrorist group after hours of fighting.

With these latest gains, the Syrian Army has found themselves on the brink of liberating all of Hajar al-Aswad, which was once the largest city in southern Damascus.

Once Hajar al-Aswad is liberated, the Syrian Army will be in position to finally launch a full attack on the ISIS-held areas of the Yarmouk Camp District.

Chinese private firm launches first space rocket
[DAWN] A suborbital rocket was launched into space on Thursday by a start-up in China’s burgeoning commercial aeronautics industry, as private firms snap at the heels of their dominant American rivals.

OneSpace, the Beijing-based company behind the launch, is one of dozens of Chinese rivals jostling for a slice of the global space industry, estimated to be worth about $339 billion by Bank of America Merrill Lynch and currently dominated by SpaceX and Blue Origin in the US.

Its nine-metre (30-foot) "Chongqing Liangjiang Star" rocket took off from an undisclosed test field in China’s northwest and reached an altitude of 273 kilometres before falling back to Earth, the company said in a statement. The launch aimed to demonstrate an early working model of the company’s OS-X series of rockets, designed to conduct research linked to suborbital flights.

By the end of the decade OneSpace expects to build 20 of the OS-X rockets, which would be capable of placing a 100-kilo (220-pound) payload into an orbit 800 kilometres from the Earth’s surface, said company front man Chen Jianglan.

The firm is also developing another type of rocket, the M-series, to compete in the growing microsatellite sector.

These small satellites are typically no larger than a shoebox and are used to monitor crops, weather patterns or disaster sites or used by universities for research purposes, according to Jonathan McDowell, an astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

According to a military source in the capital city, the Syrian Air Force launched more than 15 airstrikes over the Yarmouk Camp, Hajar al-Aswad, and al-Tadamon districts of southern Damascus this morning.

The source added that the Syrian Air Force is aggressively targeting the Islamic State’s positions in southern Damascus in a bid to force them to surrender the area.

Thus far, the Syrian military has refused to hold peace talks with the Islamic State, given their gruesome executions of captured soldiers inside the towns of Hajar al-Aswad earlier this month.

ISIS was previously offered the opportunity to go to the Deir Ezzor Governorate; however, they would later reject the Syrian military’s offer, vowing to fight until their last man

Speaking at an extraordinary summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Friday, Erdogan said Israel should be held accountable over the killings which drew widespread international condemnation and triggered a wave of protests from Asia, through the Middle East, to North Africa.

Somali Parliament Calls For Ceasefire In Tukaraq Amid Brewing Tension
[RADIOSHABELLE] The speaker of the Lower House chamber of Somalia’s Federal Parliament, Mohammed Mursal has called for an end to fighting in Tukaraq town in the disputed Sool region.

The hostilities between the breakaway Somaliland and Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
state renewed on 15th May after a heavy fighting broke out outside the town, leading to heavy casualties.

More than 45 soldiers from both sides were killed and dozens maimed during Tuesday’s festivities, according to the local residents and medics.

Somaliland and Puntland traded blames of each other for the start of the battle for control of the town which lies 90Km north of Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland state.

The speaker’s call came after the Parliamentary Standing Committees’ meeting in Mogadishu. He urged the sides to opt for dialogue to resolve their dispute.

Somaliland and Puntland both claim the ownership of the two disputed regions of Sool and Sanag situated in northern Somalia and fought sporadic battles since 2002.

Somaliland declared independence from Somalia on 18th May 1991, but has not yet achieved any formal international recognition as a sovereign state.

Taliban pledge not to target Afghan army, police
That pledge and $8.59 will get you a coffee at Starbucks.
[Al Jazeera] The Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
says it will not target the Afghan police and military in the country any more due to the high number of casualties suffered by the security forces in the ongoing conflict.

The gang declared in a rare statement on Friday "a general amnesty to all military formations, national army, national police, Arbakis (local police) and all employees of the regime to safeguard their lives and wealth".

While stating that the main target of its recently launched spring offensive in the country are the Americans and their allies, the gang said security officials often come under fire because they are "protecting the foreign invaders and the corrupt regime which they have installed".

"These security forces, however, are our own countrymen who have joined the ranks of America due to misguidance or other reasons," the statement said.

"In case you do leave the enemy ranks ... the mujahideen of Islamic Emirate shall use every means at their disposal to try and ease your life."

China-Japan-Koreas
Trump tells North Korea's Kim to denuclearise or risk overthrow
[Al Jazeera] US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
offered North Korea's Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
guarantees of staying in power if he abandons nuclear weapons, but warned he could end up like Libya's former leader if he doesn't.

In an effort to put his planned landmark summit with Kim back on track, Trump said on Thursday that North Korea "will get protections that will be very strong" if the meeting were to go ahead successfully.

"He'd be in his country and running his country. His country would be very rich," he told news hounds.

But the pledge came barbed with a warning that if talks fail, Kim could suffer the same fate as Libya's Muammar Qadaffy
...who single-handedly turned a moderately prosperous kingdom into a dictator's fantasyland and was then murdered by his indignant subjects 42 years later...
, who was tossed by rebels and gruesomely killed.

The fate suffered by Libya shows "what will take place if we don't make a deal", the US president warned.

Trump's remarks came as Pyongyang threatened to cancel the historic summit, set for June 12 in Singapore, after blaming US demands for "unilateral nuclear abandonment".

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Texas teen charged after deadly shooting in Santa Fe school
[Al Jazeera] A 17-year-old boy armed with a shotgun and a revolver has shot up a school in the US state of Texas, killing at least 10 people and wounding 10 others, according to authorities.
Yet another teenage dipshit whose life's accomplishment is to be dangerous. It's not a gun problem; it's a mental health problem.
The gunman, identified by police as Dimitrios Pagourtzis, was taken into custody on murder charges after the Friday morning attack at Santa Fe High School, located about 50km southeast of Houston,

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the shooting, which took place shortly before 8am (13:00 GMT) was "one of the most heinous attacks that we've ever seen in the history of Texas schools".

"It's impossible to describe the magnitude of the evil of someone who would attack innocent children in a school," Abbott told news hounds on Friday afternoon.

"As of this time, there have been 10 lives that have been lost, and another 10 maimed," Abbott said.

"It's time in Texas that we take action to step up and make sure this tragedy is never repeated ever again in the history in the state of Texas," he added.

"One or two" other "people of interest" have been detained and are being questioned by officials, according to Abbott.

Apparently Papa owns the guns legally, so as long as he did not say, “Here, son, go shoot up your classmates,” I don’t see how the conclusion follows.

The boy was on the freshman football team, went to church with his family... was a bit of a loner, but was still involved. According to reports he intended to commit suicide at the end of the planned adventure, but could not follow through. He probably hoped that shootings plus the bombs he’d scattered round the landscape would lead to a neat suicide by cop, taking the decision out of his hands.

It’s one thing to consider shooting up a defenseless heard of your classmates like a video game, it’s another to see the end results of state administered punishment. These freaks should be given pause, and it guarantees no parole along with a modicum of justice to the families devastated by these actions.

#10  Parent will go to jail. Texas has a law requiring parents to keep guns out of the hands of minors.

Tex. Penal Code § 46.13

IT IS UNLAWFUL TO STORE, TRANSPORT, OR ABANDON AN UNSECURED FIREARM IN A PLACE WHERE CHILDREN ARE LIKELY TO BE AND CAN OBTAIN ACCESS TO THE FIREARM.5

a person is criminally liable if he or she, “with criminal negligence:”

Failed to secure the firearm (i.e., to take steps a reasonable person would take to prevent the access to a readily dischargeable firearm by a child, including but not limited to placing a firearm in a locked container or temporarily rendering the firearm inoperable by a trigger lock or other means); or
Left the firearm in a place to which the person knew or should have known the child would gain access.

The penalty for a violation is significantly harsher if the child discharges the firearm and causes death or serious bodily injury to himself, herself or another person.

So for all those leftys that say "there ought to be a law", guess what, there is.

Criminals break laws. Thats what they do. Laws never stop the irrational people.

Its a lack of security, not of guns. This kid wounded the cops, critical condition for one of them. There needed to be strict control of the entry points so this nutbag never even got in the door. Metal detectors, single point of entry with controls and an armed presence right there.

Russian-American Lobbyist At Trump Tower Meeting Described Knowing Hillary Clinton, Associates
Who was set up and actually by whom?
[DailyCaller] The Russian-American lobbyist who attended the infamous Trump Tower meeting had contacts with members of Hillary Clinton's inner circle and knew Clinton herself, he told the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2017.

"I knew [Clinton]; I knew some people who worked on her campaign," the lobbyist, Rinat Akhmetshin, told the Senate Judiciary Committee in closed-door testimony on Nov. 14

Akhmetshin, a former Soviet military intelligence officer, also said his attorney, Edward Lieberman, knows Clinton well. Lieberman's late wife, Evelyn Lieberman, was a close confidante of Clinton's. At one point, Akhmetshin said he was not a fan of President Donald Trump's family.

Trump Jr., Akhmetshin and other meeting participants all testified to the Judiciary panel the meeting was a dud and no information about Clinton changed hands. Instead, Veselnitskaya lobbied heavily against the Magnitsky Act, a law blacklisting Russian human rights abusers. Veselnitskaya carried into the meeting a memo that accused Bill Browder, a London-based banker who is the leading force behind the Magnitsky Act, of links to improper donations to Democrats.

In a bizarre twist, it turned out Veselnitskaya's memo was put together by Glenn Simpson, the founder of Fusion GPS ‐ the firm that commissioned the Steele dossier. Simpson happened to be working with Veselnitskaya and Akhmetshin to investigate Browder as part of an effort to undermine the Magnitsky Act. In his testimony,
Akhmetshin said he has known Simpson for more than a decade and has been a source for him when Simpson worked at The Wall Street Journal.

Akhmetshin was also asked about his contacts with Clintonworld.

"Did you ever have any meetings with the Hillary Clinton campaign or campaign officials?" One committee investigator asked.

"Not with officials, no," Akhmetshin said, adding of Clinton he "met her in social setting, not on a professional line."

Akhmetshin did not go into more detail about his contacts with Clinton associates or Clinton herself, though he left open the possibility the contacts occurred during the campaign.

Levin Calls on Trump to Appoint Commission to Clean Up the Intel Community ‐ ‘To Hell with Jeff Sessions'
[Breitbart] Thursday on Fox News Channel’s "Hannity," nationally syndicated radio Mark Levin argued that what the Mueller investigation had revealed was not Russian conclusion in the 2016 presidential election, but that the greatest perpetrator against the American people was the federal government.

Levin argued for President Donald Trump to appoint a commission to clean up agencies within the intelligence community and that it should be done regardless of what Attorney General Jeff Sessions says.

"I would also tell him, and I’ve said this before myself ‐ we need to fix this," he said. "We can’t have in another election where the federal government, our United States government, is interfering with an election. And so, what I think the president needs to do to appoint a commission of five or seven people ... top-notch men from prior administrations and women, and appoint them and say fix the FBI at the top, fix the CIA, fix intelligence agencies. We can’t allow it to happen to another president of the United States. To hell with, sorry Jeff, with Jeff Sessions and all of the other people. The president should take responsibility. You are talking about spies in the Trump administration. You’re talking about a failed FISA court. This is incredible stuff."

Unchanged U.S. Ambition for World Hegemony
[KCNAWATCH.CO] (Rodong Sinmun) Some days ago, the U.S. House of Representatives shaped a bill on national defense right for fiscal 2019 which included the military budget to the tune of 717 billion U.S. dollars.

Such huge military spending is used to maintain the U.S. military bases and various types of military hardware deployed in all most of regions and continents and the Department of Defense and other mechanisms, form new armed forces and develop cutting-edge military technology, etc.

It shows that the U.S. is seeking to block multi-polarization of the world and keep the unipolar world at any cost.

The U.S. has not given up even a moment its wild design to change the world in its favor, dominating it single-handedly.

It regards military spending as the size of strength.

After the end of the Cold War, the U.S. military appropriation has always been many times higher than the world's second largest nation in military spending, which is much more than the military spending of major powers put together.

In the U.S., the military spending has been increased every year, though its economy has fallen into stagnation due to the swelling trade and financial deficits.

The U.S. is running high fever in military reinforcement to check the military influence of its potential rivals and their expansion of sphere of force in the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Indian Ocean, etc. and other regions and continents and establish its supremacy over this planet.

China, Russia and all other countries that challenge the unipolar world by the U.S. are regarded as targets of obstacle lying in the way of realizing "peace by strength".

The U.S. ambition to dominate the world with strength remains unchanged in any case.

This Week in Guns, May 19th, 2018

By Chris Covert
Rantburg.com

The debates on gun control rage, now intensifying after the mass murder in Houston Friday.

I asked a younger man, who happens to be trying to build his firearms business what he thinks is causing the shootings. His answer was, "Parents not beating the sh*t out of their kids." The conversation was a little more detailed than that, but his sentiment is that the lack of discipline, especially what a father can provide, is part of the problem.

It's hard to argue that, because when it comes to domestic violence and the courts, the courts have yet, lo these 40 years or so, to come to terms with their roles in exacerbating the social problem of divorce and destroyed families.

Men are going to react to a judicial Mandarin following dicta from legislatures which create a favored social class in the courts. All the pontificating about what the man does wrong does not in any way deal with the woman's role in the violence.

And judges believe that because of their unique standing their rulings from the bench are the word of God, yet they are nothing of the sort. They are the raw unleavened power of the state.

This story about a man accused of stalking his girlfriend is a good example of the press pushing the cause of the victim, ignoring what is actually going on between a man and a woman. The woman's first reaction in the case of threats to domestic violence is to make herself a ward of the state by filing a victim's protective order, with extra privileges provided by the state and the press.

In the story you will read the term "red flag", which means that the sheriff probably endorses the idea of stripping away civil liberties to protect a single social element through "red flag" gun confiscation orders, which, by the way, are likely to become law in red Oklahoma next year.

All because a woman lacks the judgement to select a proper mate, the rest of us have to face expanded power of the state through a cobbled together legal process that will enable the state to seize property without just cause.

Commenting on a female North Carolina legislator who wants to institute those orders, I have said that she places herself on the front lines of any civil conflict. I hope she has a gun and she knows how to use it, for her sake. No one gets protection from a backlash.

And you know, like the protective orders back in the 1990s, a leftist Congress will expand those orders as further punishment. It is coming, folks.

Police bust East Jerusalem firebomb cell
[IsraelTimes] Police announce the arrest of four suspects from the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya for hurling Molotov cocktails at Border Police officers and a nearby hospital.

The suspects, three minors from Issawiya and an Israeli citizen, were behind the burning of a Border Police post outside Hadassah Hospital Mount Scopus, police say. Officers were not in the post when it was targeted.

Authorities say two of the suspects were also involved in other attacks on police in the neighborhood, which included throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails.

An indictment filed at the Jerusalem District Court accuses the suspects of weapons production and possession, rioting, attempting to attack a police officer and attempted arson.

Police say a civil suit may also be filed against the suspects over damages caused in the attacks.

ISIL’s desperate counter-offensive in southern Damascus ends in disaster

(ISIS) launched a big counter-offensive in southern Damascus on Thursday, targeting the territory they recently lost to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in Hajar al-Aswad.

ISIS began the offensive on Thursday by storming the Syrian Arab Army’s front-lines from several axes inside Hajar al-Aswad.

The terrorist group would then make some small gains in northern Hajar al-Aswad before the Syrian Army and their Paleostinian allies forestalled the Islamic State’s advance and launched their own attack.

According to a military source in southern Damascus, the Syrian Army and their Paleostinian allies killed scores of Islamic State Death Eaters, while also seizing a large supply of their weapons.

The source added that the Syrian Army’s counter-offensive resulted in new gains for their troops and several setbacks for the Islamic State terrorists.

France says it foiled suspected chemical terror attack
[IsraelTimes] Two Egyptian-born brothers enjugged
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
in Gay Paree on suspicion of planning assault with poison agent ricin

Police in La Belle France have foiled a suspected terror attack and arrested two brothers of Egyptian origin, French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb said on Friday.

"There were two young people of Egyptian origin who were preparing to commit an attack, with either explosives or ricin, this very powerful poison," the minister said on BFMTV.

"They had tutorials that showed how to make ricin-based poisons," Collomb said, adding that they had communicated via the Telecom encrypted messaging app.

The revelation came after a 29-year-old man was killed and five other people injured in a deadly knife attack in Gay Paree last Saturday night.

Collomb did not indicate when they were arrested, but a source close to the inquiry said they were detained in the northern 18th Arrondissement of Gay Paree on May 11, the day before Khamzat Azimov carried out his knife rampage.

One of the men "admitted having wanted to stage an attack," the source told AFP.

Azimov also lived in the 18th Arrondissement, parts of which are packed with low-income high-rises and a mix of French and immigrant communities.

In late March, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe had indicated that a total of 51 attacks had been thwarted by French security services since January 2015, the beginning of a wave of strikes on French soil, many claimed by the Islamic State

1,000 protest Friday on Gaza border as Hamas chief vows to lead new demonstrations
[IsraelTimes] Ismail Haniyeh
...became Prime Minister after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
denies a deal has been reached with Egypt to call off the protests after Cairo opens Rafah crossing for entire month of Ramadan

The leader of the Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbung millipede, terror group on Friday vowed he would personally lead fresh protests at the Gazoo border fence, days after 62 Paleostinians were killed in festivities there with Israeli forces. Hamas has said 50 of the fatalities were its members.

Ismail Haniyeh also denied a deal had been made to end seven weeks of border protests, promising they would continue.

The IDF said there were some 1,000 taking part in festivities along the border fence on Friday afternoon and several thousand in protest camps further back. Demonstrators were slinging stones, burning tires and flying flaming kites into Israel.

Soldiers were responding with riot disposal means and live fire in accordance with rules of engagement, the IDF said.

Also Friday, the IDF said it had facilitated the transfer of seven of the Gazoo maimed who had Jordanian citizenship from Gazoo to Jordan for medical treatment.

Speaking at a Gazoo City mosque during midday prayers on the first Friday of the Moslem holy month of Ramadan, Haniyeh said: "We will all go, and me first of you, to the Gazoo border.

"The marches will not stop until the siege is lifted completely from the Gazoo Strip."

Israel and Egypt have blockaded Gazoo since Hamas took over the Strip in 2007 in an attempt to prevent the terror group bringing in weapons, rockets and material for constructionist fortifications and attack tunnels.

Haniyeh had previously touted the aims of the protests, known as the "March of Return," as the beginning of the Paleostinians’ return to all of Paleostine.

"We are here to declare today that our people will not agree to keep the ’right of return’ only as a slogan," he said at one of the first of the protests in the last six weeks.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi announced late Thursday at the start of Ramadan that his country’s border with Gazoo would be open throughout the holy month to "alleviate the suffering" of Gazooks.

Local media have speculated that a deal has been struck for Egypt, which has a 1979 peace treaty with Israel, to open the border in exchange for Hamas ending the protests.

Haniyeh welcomed Sissi’s decision but denied any such an agreement.

"There is a rumor that Hamas made a deal with Egypt to end the marches. This is baseless," he said.

On Tuesday, Israel reopened the trucking lanes of the Kerem Shalom Crossing and began allowing through medical supplies and commercial goods, though in two cases Paleostinian officials refused to accept the trucks.

Paleostinian Authority officials, working on the Gazoo side of the crossing, sent back 14 trucks worth of food and diapers on Tuesday, for unclear reasons. The next day, Hamas officials inside Gazoo refused to accept two shipments of medical supplies, despite shortages in the Strip’s hospitals, because they were provided by the Israeli military.

While the inability to import medical equipment and other essential goods to the Gazoo Strip due to the temporary closure of the crossing was a source of concern, international officials this week warned of the dire consequences of the lack of fuel.

“Far-right” Dutch lawmaker Wilders appeals discrimination ruling
[IsraelTimes] Firebrand opposition leader back in court to fight conviction for 'inflammatory' rally against Moroccans during a 2014 election campaign

Firebrand Dutch politician Geert Wilders returns to court Thursday to appeal his 2016 conviction for discrimination, unrepentant in the personal battle he is waging against Islam.

The far-right MP has seen the fortunes of his Freedom Party (PPV) soar in both general and local elections in recent years and now heads the biggest opposition party in the Dutch parliament.

His case will be back in a high-security court near Schiphol airport as Wilders appeals the December 2016 ruling which found him guilty of discrimination against Moroccans during a 2014 election rally.

The populist MP was however acquitted of hate speech and the judges decided not to impose any sentence or fine.

Prosecutors are also appealing and judges have allocated 11 days for the hearing. The verdict is due to be handed down on July 6.

Wilders told the popular De Telegraaf tabloid this week that he was not worried about the outcome of his appeal, saying: "I’ve gone through it all before."

He said his lawyer Geert-Jan Knoops would address the court for him.

At the 2014 rally Wilders asked supporters whether they wanted "fewer or more Moroccans in your city and in the Netherlands".

When the crowd shouted back "Fewer! Fewer!" a smiling Wilders answered: "We’re going to organise that."

After a three-week trial, the three judges ruled that due to "the inflammatory nature of the way in which the statements were made, others were encouraged to discriminate against people of Moroccan origin."

But they added there was "insufficient evidence" to find that his words amounted to incitement to hatred.

Wilders largely snubbed the trial, and his lawyer refused to tell AFP this week if the politician would attend the appeal opening on Thursday.

But after the December verdict was handed down, Wilders vowed he would never stay silent, and has remained true to his word.

He put forward a fiery
...a single two-syllable word carrying connotations of both incoherence and viciousness. A fiery delivery implies an audience of rubes and yokels, preferably forming up into a mob...
platform for the 2017 general elections, vowing to close mosques, ban sales of the Koran and halt the immigration of Moslem refugees to the country.

And he courted further controversy ahead of this year’s local polls in March, by tweeting a message saying in Dutch and English "Islam is deadly" in big red letters, apparently dripping in blood.

’Bill to outlaw Islam’
The message was loudly condemned by other parties, but many voters were not put off, with the PVV gaining seats in 20 local councils, more than the party has ever held.

Despite the looming court case, Wilders has kept up a steady stream of attacks on Islam as a religion whose "imams preach hatred".

Last month he said his PVV was working on a bill to go before the Dutch parliament to pass "legislation to outlaw as much Islam as possible".

The appeal judges have demanded the prosecution provide detailed information about how the 6,400 complaints received about Wilders’ 2014 speech were handled.

But they rejected a defence request for other witnesses to be called, which reportedly included Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

Passenger plane crashes in Cuba, killing more than 100 people
HAVANA (Reuters) - More than 100 people were killed in a fiery crash of a Boeing 737 passenger plane in Cuba on Friday, with just three seriously injured survivors in hospital after being pulled from the wreckage, officials and state media said.

The aircraft, on a domestic flight to Holguin in eastern Cuba, crashed shortly after taking off from Havana at 11 a.m. (1500 GMT). There were either 104 or 105 passengers, including five children, plus nine crew members, various state media said.

Five of the passengers plus the crew were foreign, media reports said. The Mexican government said Mexicans citizens were among the dead, without providing further details.

"We should expect that the news will not be good, as there are a high number of people who appear to have been killed," President Miguel Diaz-Canel said in broadcast comments.

The fire from the crash had been put out and authorities were identifying bodies, the president said. The cause of the crash was not immediately known and Diaz-Canel said authorities were investigating.

Iraq
Mosul clearance continues: 4 turbans tied up, last bodies taken from the rubble

Iraqi security arrest 4 Islamic State members north of Mosul

The Iraqi Security Media Center said the police command in the town of Tal Keif arrested four memebrs of Daesh (Islamic State) who “confessed to committing crimes against innocent civilians and security members.

The center said the four were wanted for justice based on the Iraqi anti-terrorism law.

No more bodies under the rubble in Mosul’s Old City: Governor

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) The Old City in Mosul has been declared to be empty of bodies under the rubble, the governor of Nineveh province said on Friday.

Speaking to Alghad Press, Nofal al-Aakob, the governor, said “the civil defense department as well as others managed to recover all the bodies under the rubble in the Old City. No more bodies are there.”

The civilian recovered bodies, according to Aakob, reached 2654, while 157 bodies of Islamic State members were recovered.

Other sources said on Thursday that more than 600 bodies were recovered within the campaign, launched on Wednesday.

The total number of recovered bodies since end of war in Mosul against Islamic State, that ended more than ten months ago, reached 9,000, according to municipal sources.

The bodies recovered over the past two days are being buried randomly in the Old City, sources told Alghad Press.

As many as 3,298 civilians were killed and 4,781 others were wounded in 2017, excluding Anbar civilian casualty figures for November and December, which are not available, the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) said in a report in December.

Venezuela in a quagmire
[Al Jazeera] Some say that Venezuelan presidential candidate Henri Falcon is attempting the political equivalent of climbing to the top of Mount Everest alone - and without oxygen.

Once a staunch supporter of deceased populist leader Hugo Chavez, the former Lara State governor broke with the Socialist party in 2010.

He is now promising to "save Venezuela from a dictatorship and economic ruin" if he is elected president on May 20.

Falcon is one of three outsiders in a race where the main opposition parties are conspicuously absent from the ballot. They are declaring the vote a "sham" and appealing to Venezuelans to stay away from the polls.

"On May 20, there are no elections," said Juan Pablo Guanipa, of the opposition Voluntad Popular Party. "We aren't talking about abstention or of not voting."

"We simply won't participate in a farce," he added. "We don't recognise the event that will take place as a legitimate election."

One the eve of the election, Maduro's Minister of Communications Jorge Rodriguez lashed out at domestic and international critics.

"It is very strange that the international community is declaring a fraud even before the election takes place," Rodriguez said.

Algerian Terrorist Renounces Extremism in Response to His Family’s Appeal
[AAWSAT] Terrorist F. Salah, whose family surrendered on 26 April, has in his turn surrendered on Wednesday, following the appeal by his family, said the Algerian Ministry of National Defence in a communiqué.

In line with the continuous efforts of the different units of our Armed Forces and following the appeal by his family, made up of ten members, who surrendered on 26 April 2018 in Jijel, terrorist F. Salah has surrendered today 16 May 2018 to the military authorities in Jijel (5th Military Region)," said the communiqué.

Salah, alias Abu Oussama, who joined terrorist groups in 1998, was in possession of a Kalashnikov submachine gun, three stores loaded with ammunition," added the Ministry's communiqué

What happened "reaffirms the determination of the National People's Army units to cleanse our country from the remnants of terrorist groups as well as the effectiveness of the approach adopted by the high command of the army to eradicate this phenomenon from our country," the ministry added.

This policy, according to observers, is considered one aspect of the "reconciliation" that Algerians supported in a 2005 referendum, represented in revoking prison sentences issued against hundreds of murderous Moslems in return for surrendering themselves and their weapons.

Saleh’s family, which has renounced terror strongholds less than a month ago, consists of his wife, son, five women, two children and two infants.

The army then published three pictures, taken at a military site, showing the women and kiddies with their faces covered.

Malaysia seizes cash, jewels, designer bags in raid on ex-leader Najib Razak
[DAWN] Malaysian police seized 72 suitcases stuffed with cash and jewels along with scores of designer handbags in raids on luxury properties linked to ex-prime minister Najib Razak on Friday as a corruption probe gathered pace.

The discovery adds significantly to the peril faced by Najib, who just last week had seemed to be cruising toward an election victory, before he was unseated in a stunning upset.

A visibly shattered and anxious Najib declined to comment on the latest developments as he waded through a throng of media into a mosque for Friday afternoon prayers in the Moslem-majority country.

Asked to comment, Najib, 64, patted an AFP journalists' arm and said: "Later, later."

Police said that the sheer size of the trove of cash, jewels and 284 boxes containing Hermes, Birkin and Louis Vuitton handbags prevented them from immediately estimating the haul's value.

8 Kosovo Albanians jailed for foiled attack on Israeli soccer team
[IsraelTimes] November 2016 plot was said to have been coordinated by two Albanians in Syria fighting with Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
A Kosovo court has sentenced nine Albanians, eight to jail, for planning a foiled attack against the Israeli soccer team during a 2016 qualifying World Cup match in neighboring Albania.

Pristina court Judge Hamdi Ibrahimi on Friday sentenced the leader of the group, Visar Ibishi, to 10 years in jail. Seven others got between 1-1/2 to 6 years imprisonment. One was slapped with a 2,500-euro ($2,950) fine.

The planned attack in November 2016 was said to have been coordinated by two Albanians in Syria fighting with the Islamic State group.

The World Cup qualifier in was originally due to take place in the northern town of Shkodra. The match eventually took place in Elbasan, about 45 kilometers (28 miles) from the Albanian capital Tirana, under a massive security presence.

Police found bombs, weapons, electronic equipment and bad boy religious literature at their homes.

Kosovo authorities say about 180 citizens are still active with bad boy groups in Syria and Iraq.

EU launches ‘blocking statute’ to stem effects of US sanctions of Iran
[IsraelTimes] The European Union

on Friday launches "the blocking statute" process to spare Europeans from US sanctions on Iran as part of efforts to preserve the nuclear deal with Tehran.

Merkel cautious on compensation after US pullout from Iran deal

is signaling it won't be feasible to offer wide-ranging compensation to European companies affected by US sanctions over Iran's nuclear program.

Merkel said Thursday after EU leaders met in Bulgaria that "all European Union member states still stand by this agreement."

But she was cautious about possible compensation for companies that do business with Iran. She said that "we can see whether we can give small and medium-sized companies certain relief. That is being examined."

However,
a clean conscience makes a soft pillow...
Merkel added: "As for compensating all businesses in a comprehensive way for such measures by the United States of America, I think we cannot and must not create illusions."

#10  Why are the Europeans so fucking desperate to keep funding the largest terrorist funding nation in the world?

A few billion dollars of potential annual profits from selling to Iran's 80m population. Prior to our getting entangled in all kinds of alliances post-WWII, we traded with everyone. It was only after Japan invaded China, and, in so doing, threatened the Philippine Islands (then a US possession), that we severely restricted trade with the Japanese. The Europeans want to sell to Iran because they are operating under the illusion that Iran is at heart peaceful, but if that turns out not to be the case, Uncle Sam will deal with the fallout (maybe literally).

I suspect Europe will not buck the US on this. Because in the worst case, we could simply leave NATO, and the EU would be on the hook for hundreds of billions of dollars worth of defense expenditures they'd need to fork up in order to replace the American defense umbrella.

Christian community puts forth grievances regarding recent 'raids' in meeting with Karachi police
[DAWN] Representatives of the Christian community met with coppers at the Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
District Inspector General East's office on Friday and informed them about their reservations regarding recent "raids" in the Youhanabad neighbourhood, DawnNewsTV reported.

Murtaza Bhutto, the Superintendent of Police in Gulshan, acted as the focal person for the discussions which took place today. Father Saleh Diego, Gay Pareeh Priest at St Paul Gay Pareeh, represented the community.

Residents of Youhanabad Christian Colony, located in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 13-G, have been protesting against the mysterious disappearances of young Christian men.

The affected families allege that within the span of a few weeks, 24 young Christians were picked up from the neighbourhood by the police.

During the course of the discussion, the community representatives expressed disappointment that the matter has seen no resolution.

According to the residents of the neighbourhood in question, these men who appear to be security officials, show up wearing masks in the dead of the night, riding in cars without licence plates. They break down doors across the neighbourhood and enter homes with reckless abandon.

The families allege that these "raids" started taking place since March 30 when six young men were taken away. On April 15, four youth were nabbed
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
and on May 8, 14 youngsters were made to disappear.

The affected families said that the 14 young men who were arrested on the night of May 8 are still missing.

"First they asked my husband's name and demanded to see his identity card. Then they beat him up and dragged him away," a woman complained during the meeting.

She revealed that her husband is a dental technician and holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree. He had recently applied for admission to a Master's programme. The day he was taken away, he had appeared in an interview at a call centre.

Another affected family said that on April 15, these "officers" broke into their home, using cutters on the locks.

"They sent someone pictures of our four sons over Whatsapp and upon "verification" took two of the boys away with them," a member of the family said, adding that they have managed to obtain bail for one of the boys.

The young man released on bail said that he was kept blindfolded and transported to some location at SITE area.

"They beat me and subjected me to electrical torture for three days. They kept asking me to do exactly as they say. They constantly kept asking me about different people, encounters and weapons," he said during the discussion.

He was taken away on April 15 and on April 20 a false case was registered against him.

Another family complained that their son and nephew were also forcibly taken away.

A man from an affected family said his two brothers have also been taken away by "officers". One of the brothers is an electrician while the other is a Matric student.

The day the man's brothers were taken away, the Matric student had an exam which he could not appear in. The boy does not even have an identity card owing to his young age.

The man expressing his vexation over the situation said that it was no better than "the law of the jungle where people were picked up at the officers' whims and there was no telling as to the whereabouts of any of the missing men".

Israel says it won’t cooperate with UN human rights council probe of Gaza deaths
Who said what to whom about this new blood libel, plus a photo of the final tally of yeas, nays, and abstentions can be seen at the link.
[IsraelTimes] Netanyahu denounces council as 'a hypocritical and biased body whose purpose is to harm Israel and back terror'; Haley: 'Another shameful day'

Israel said Friday that it will not cooperate with an investigation ordered by the UN Human Rights Council into the IDF’s killing of Paleostinians in violence on the Gazoo border this week.

The US, one of two countries to vote against the investigation, called the move "another shameful day for human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
The UN’s top human rights body voted through a resolution calling on the council to "urgently dispatch an independent, international commission of inquiry" after the deaths of some 60 Paleostinians ‐ the council’s highest-level of investigation. Almost all of the dead were members of Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",, the terror group has acknowledged.

"We have no intention of cooperating," Israel’s deputy foreign minister said.

The council voted 29 in favor and two against with 14 countries abstaining. Australia and the US were the two countries to oppose the decision. The council also condemned "the disproportionate and indiscriminate use of force by the Israeli occupying forces against Paleostinian civilians."

The inquiry mandated by the council will be asked to produce a final report next March.

Israel is not a member of the UNHRC, and Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman on Thursday called on the US to leave it. "We need to stop lending a hand to this hypocrisy-fest," he said.

The draft resolution, which was presented by Pakistain on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and backed by 47 UN member states, said Sherlocks should probe "all violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law ... in the context of the military assaults on large-scale civilian protests that began on 30 March 2018."

It said the aim should be to "establish the facts and circumstances" around "alleged violations and abuses including those that may amount to war crimes and to identify those responsible."

China-Japan-Koreas
North Korea refuses to hold talks with ‘ignorant and incompetent’ officials from South
[DAWN] North Korea said on Thursday it will not hold talks with Seoul under the current diplomatic situation, calling South Korean officials "ignorant and incompetent" a day after the hermit state abruptly cancelled planned inter-Korean discussions.

A high-level meeting between the two neighbours had been scheduled for Wednesday, but the North pulled out early that morning over joint military exercises between the US and the South.

The two-week "Max Thunder" drills started on May 11 and involve some 100 aircraft from the two allies, including F-22 stealth fighter jets.

"Unless the serious situation which led to the suspension of the north-south high-level talks is settled, it will never be easy to sit face-to-face again with the present regime of South Korea," the official KCNA news agency cited top negotiator Ri Son Gwon as saying on Thursday.

Pyongyang has also threatened to cancel a historic summit between US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
and North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
in Singapore next month, following weeks of tentative rapprochement.

Ri, head of the North’s Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country, described the South’s reaction to the meeting’s cancellation as a "confrontation racket", according to KCNA.

"On this opportunity the present South Korean authorities have been clearly proven to be an ignorant and incompetent group devoid of the elementary sense of the present situation," he added.

In Wednesday’s angrily worded statement, KCNA denounced the Max Thunder exercises as a "rude and wicked provocation", and Seoul said it had received a message cancelling planned high-level talks "indefinitely".

Africa Subsaharan
Zimbabwe: Angry Villagers Drag Mpofu to Court
[All Africa] Umguza Community Share Ownership Trust has dragged Home Affairs minister Obert Mpofu to court for allegedly grabbing borehole drilling equipment and accessories valued at US$600 000 from the trust.

Mpofu, regarded as an untouchable political godfather in the region, is accused of working with Matabeleland North Zanu PF chairman Richard Moyo and party activists to grab the equipment from the custody of the trust.

In an affidavit filed at the High Court in Bulawayo, Umguza scheme chairperson Felix Nhlanhla Ndiweni said the group of Zanu PF "thugs", operating under Mpofu's orders, had attempted to stop the trust's operations.

According to Ndiweni, the trust was carrying out a borehole drilling programme in the constituency. The programme had seen the trust drill 95 boreholes which benefitted clinics, an army base and schools.

"A few weeks ago, a group of thugs numbering 20 attempted to stop operations of the Applicant. They advised that they were under the instructions of the first respondent (Mpofu) and the second respondent (Moyo). They were chanting revolutionary songs and were visibly drunk and they were violent towards the Applicant's staff at the Umguza Rural District Council Reigate Depot," reads part of Ndiweni's affidavit filed by lawyer Dumisani Dube of Mathonsi Ncube Law Chambers.

Ndiweni added that in the midst of the commotion, the Zanu PF supporters grabbed keys to a drilling rig valued at US$500 000 as well as an assortment of equipment. "In the melee of the violence, they stole keys from a drilling rig that is used to drill boreholes rendering the rig which costs a sum of US$500 000 a non-runner," Ndiweni said.

"Further, they took keys for a single cab Toyota Hilux and one large truck on the instructions of the first and second respondents."

Ndiweni said the vehicle, registration number ADI 8492, was driven to Bulawayo and has been locked up at Mpofu's premises.

"More so, the respondents together in concert also took a PVC casing valued at US$4 150,12 drilling rods valued at US$18 000, a drum of compressor oil valued at US$1 000, a spare wheel valued at US$450, five hydraulic pumps valued at US$300, one borehole pump valued at US$2 200 and the Toyota Hilux valued at US$33 600.

"This was violently (done) after a meeting of the respondents at York House (Mpofu's offices) in Bulawayo had ad-hocly resolved to do so," Ndiweni wrote.

Ndiweni said the police had been reluctant to investigate the matter.

"Attempts to have the matter investigated by the Zim-bob-we Republic Police have yielded nothing as they keep stating that they need clearance to investigate the respondents who include the first respondent when the first respondent is the minister of Home Affairs," Ndiweni said.

"I submit that the applicant has been in peaceful, lawful, and undisturbed possession of the vehicles and equipment referred to above.

"(And) we have been advised that the only way of quickly gaining our possession and control of our equipment and vehicle is by way of an urgent application for a mandamen van spolie (spoliation order), especially since superintendent Mapiye and constable Makavu have advised our lawyers on the 16th of May by telephone that there is nothing they can do because of political pressure."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Nothing Says ‘Peace’ Like 58 Dead Palestinians
By Dana Milbank

[AAWSAT] Here’s a split-screen for our times: While Israeli troops were killing dozens of Paleostinian protesters in Gazoo on Monday, Trump administration representatives were 50 miles away in Jerusalem, celebrating with Israeli officials the opening of the US Embassy there and praising their mutual devotion to peace.

"Moving the US embassy," Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan declared, is "a step toward advancing peace."

President Trump himself, in a video message, pledged his commitment to a "lasting peace agreement."

His son-in-law, Jared Kushner, said "peace is within reach."

And Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared it "a great day for peace."

Because nothing says "peace" like 58 Paleostinians killed, 2,700 maimed, renewed hostilities between Iran and Israel, the entire region aflame and US allies reeling.
Those numbers came from sharpshooters choosing their targets, plus an exaggerated count of those briefly inconvenienced by tear gas. Israel could have lined up tanks and artillery along the border and just swept the field clean, leading to much larger numbers strongly skewed toward the dead rather than the wounded, Mr. Milbank. That’s what real war looks like.
Kushner, who reminded the audience that he’s in charge of Trump’s "efforts to bring peace," used his remarks to denounce the Paleostinians. "As we have seen from the protests of the last month and even today, those provoking violence are part of the problem and not part of the solution," he said. Back in Washington, a White House front man declined to join allies urging Israel to exercise restraint.

The move of the US Embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv could have been a moment of unity and brotherhood. Instead, as with most everything Trump touches, it became a symbol of division and bitterness. It could have been the capstone of a peace deal, as Republican and Democratic administrations alike had hoped. Instead, it all but dashed hope for a two-state solution.

Most European allies skipped the event. And only 14 members of Congress were on hand for the celebration ‐ all Republican and only one Jewish. Republicans scolded Democrats for their absence; Democrats said they weren’t invited. "I would have loved to have participated in this historic and moving embassy dedication," Rep. Ted Deutch (D-Fla.), who supported the embassy move, said in a statement. "Despite reaching out to the administration, I was not invited to be a part of the official American delegation."

Given the lineup present at the opening, it was less a diplomatic ceremony than a campaign event. David Friedman, the US ambassador to Israel, praised "the vision, the courage and the moral clarity of one person to whom we owe an enormous and eternal debt of gratitude, President Donald J. Trump."

Moral clarity! And that’s not all: "I think President Lincoln is smiling today as another great Republican, Donald J. Trump, opens our embassy."

Netanyahu dutifully declared that Trump "made history," Hagee thanked God "for President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s courage," and Pastor Robert Jeffress praised Trump’s leadership, determination, resolve and courage and offered his view to God that Trump "stands on the right side of You."

Kushner got applause for reminding the crowd of Trump’s decision to "exit the dangerous, flawed and one-sided Iran deal."

The bipartisan unity toward Israel had begun to break down even before Trump, as Netanyahu, and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, clashed with President Barack Obama
I inhaled. That was the point...
. Trump has further driven the partisan wedge over Israel, and it’s splitting not just Democrats from Republicans but American Jews from Netanyahu’s government.

A poll last year by the American Jewish Committee found that American Jews, only 21 percent of whom view Trump favorably, were overwhelmingly (68 percent) opposed to an immediate move of the embassy.

Perhaps American Jews recognize that Trump, and the messianic Christians driving his policy, are leading Israel away from democracy and security. And perhaps they don’t trust claims of "peace" when their own eyes see the opposite.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Boosted by Lebanon Vote, Geagea Eyes ‘Hezbollah’ and Reform
[AAWSAT] The Lebanese Forces
A Christian political party founded by Bashir Gemayel, who was then bumped off when he was elected president of Leb...
(LF), which made big gains in Leb's parliamentary elections earlier this month, said it will use its stronger position to press for "Hezbollah's" weapons to be brought under government control and to root out corruption in the heavily indebted state.

The LF, which almost doubled its number of MPs in the May 6 election, expects to convert those gains into more power in a new coalition government that Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri is expected to lead, LF chief Samir Geagea
... Geagea was imprisoned by the Syrians and their puppets for 11 years in a dungeon in the third basement level of the Lebanese Ministry of Defense. He was released after the Cedar Revolution in 2005 ...
told Rooters in an interview published on Friday.

Geagea said it would "no doubt" be difficult to form the new government which - like the outgoing one - will share out ministries among Leb's rival parties, including the Iran-backed "Hezbollah".

But citing intentions expressed by Lebanese leaders and the pressing need for economic reform, Geagea held out hope the cabinet formation would not take too long. He confirmed his party was moving towards nominating Hariri as premier again.

The formation process may have, however, hit a glitch with the United States announcing on Wednesday sanctions against "Hezbollah" Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah and his deputy, Naim Qassem
... the Grand Vizier of the Hezbullies...
. Other sanctions also targeted one of its major financiers.

Leb was in dire need of a "truly new" government to tackle corruption, Geagea said.

"I believe everyone has realized now that the ship might sink with everyone aboard," he added, referring to the economic risks facing the state with the world's third highest debt as a share of output. "I believe we are in a new phase."

The LF is the second biggest Christian party after the Free Patriotic Movement
Despite its name a Christian party allied with Hizbullah, neither free nor particularly patriotic...
(FPM) established by President Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
...

, a "Hezbollah" ally who became head of state in 2016.

While Aoun has expressed support for "Hezbollah's" possession of weapons as a deterrent to Israel, Geagea is the Shiite group's most significant Christian adversary in Leb and an opponent of its allies in Damascus and Tehran, reported Rooters.

"Hezbollah" and its allies also emerged with the parliamentary majority in the recent elections.

Including the FPM, Hezbollah and factions that back its possession of arms won more than 70 of parliament's 128 seats.

Hariri was always expected to lose out under a new proportional system, but he remains the leading Sunni figure in Leb's sectarian system.

Geagea, however, disputed that "Hezbollah" had come out stronger, saying the FPM was no real ally of the group and its backing for its weapons was "just verbal".

The LF, which won 15 seats, emerged from a Christian militia led by Geagea through the final phase of the 1975-90 civil war.

"Hezbollah", set up by Iran's Revolutionary Guards, was the only Lebanese group to keep its weapons at the end of the war.

It used them to fight Israeli troops occupying southern Leb.

Since Israel withdrew in 2000, the arms have been a point of contention and the group has been deemed a terrorist organization by the United States.

Noting that "Hezbollah" was part of the cabinet, Geagea said his party would propose - as a temporary measure - that its arsenal be put at the command of the government.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Obama's FBI Spied On The Trump Campaign, So What Did He Know And When Did He Know It?
[Townhall] Katie wrote about it this morning. It’s confirmed, folks. The FBI had a spy embedded with the Trump campaign. She added the bureau did not have enough evidence to launch a criminal investigation, so they executed a counterintelligence probe instead in July of 2016. The code name was "crossfire hurricane." This was the investigation signed off by FBI agent Peter Strzok. Sztrok was a top counterintelligence agent before being transferred to human resources after his extramarital affair with bureau lawyer Lisa Page was made public and the two’s texts, which numbered in the tens of thousands, were riddled with anti-Trump and pro-Hillary sentiments. Once then-FBI Director James Comey was fired by President Trump in May of 2017, Robert Mueller took over the investigation. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein oversees him.

The Page-Strzok texts formed the basis of inquiry into the FBI’s role in all of this. How impartial were they? The texts were so problematic that Mueller removed him in August of 2017. The two discussed how they felt the FBI was going too hard on Hillary as well; Strzok was also involved in that investigation as well. Was the bureau in the tank? The optics weren’t good, especially when reports came that Strzok was presented with evidence that the former first lady’s email server was breached and did nothing about it.

But the main focus was the text Strzok sent about a meeting with then-Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe in which he referenced an "insurance policy" against Trump. Many have alleged this is a reference to the Trump dossier, which was used to obtain a spy warrant against Carter Page, who was a foreign policy adviser for the Trump campaign. This is unsettling because the dossier was a bankrolled project by Democrats. The Clinton campaign hired research firm Fusion GPS, who then contracted former MI6 spook Christopher Steele to compile dirt on Trump. Still, the counterintelligence probe into Russian collusion and the Trump team, in which there is still zero evidence, moved forward:
My guess is that it will soon be learned that Obama and Brennan were behind the entire fiasco, Brennan being the architect, Obama the authorizing agent.

Soetoro was the product of a very lengthy Deep State affirmative action, recruitment and development process. He worked out splendidly for his handlers.

Little wonder Soetoro's presidential library is becoming so scandalous. Reality is setting in.

Mysterious blast rocks army airbase in Hama
[ALMASDARNEWS] A massive explosion ripped through Hama military airbase, sending huge plumes of thick and black smoke into the sky.

The reason behind the blast is still unknown, but early reports say that ammunition storage might have exploded due to a man-made error or the sudden rise of temperature.

Other unconfirmed reports spoke of a missile attack that hit an armory inside the airbase.

The Grand Turk
US lawmaker moves to block sale of 100 F-35 fighter jets to Turkey
[ALMASDARNEWS] A new bill proposed in the US House of Representatives calls for stopping the proposed sales of more than 100 F-35 fighter jets and related intellectual property to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire....
, Congressman David Cicilline said in a blurb.

"Cicilline is introducing the bipartisan Ban F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Sales to Turkey Act today," the release said on Thursday. "The Ban F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Sales to Turkey Act prohibits the sale or transfer of F-35 aircraft and any related intellectual property or technical data to Turkey."

The ban, the release added, can only be lifted if the White House can certify that the Ottoman Turkish government is not undermining NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
and is not unlawfully jailing US citizens, among other conditions.

"We cannot turn a blind eye to Turkey’s thuggish, reprehensible behavior," Cicilline, who serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said. "It’s important that we hold NATO members to the same standard we would hold any other country."

He added that banning the sale of the F-35 to Turkey "is just common sense." The bill has been referred to the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
According to the release, the relationship between the US and Turkey has become strained in recent months due to alleged human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
violation by the Ottoman Turkish regime, led by President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
. The regime has been accused of cracking down on dissent and free speech.

In mid-April, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell said Ankara’s purchase of the S-400 air defense missile systems from Russia could negatively affect the delivery of the fifth-generation F-35 fighter jets to Turkey.
