[FOX] Sen. Rand Paul called Monday for President Trump to revoke former CIA director John Brennan's security clearance, as he questioned whether the Obama-era spy boss was "monetizing" his access to sensitive information in his new role as a pundit.
"Is John Brennan monetizing his security clearance? Is John Brennan making millions of dollars divulging secrets to the mainstream media with his attacks on @realDonaldTrump?" Paul tweeted early Monday.
Brennan joined NBC News and MSNBC in February as a contributor and senior national security and intelligence analyst. A spokesperson for the networks did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment on Paul's tweet, which did not list any specific allegations.
The Kentucky Republican, who last week jumped to Trump's defense as the president faced bipartisan criticism over his summit and press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, followed up the original tweet by saying:
"Today I will meet with the President and I will ask him to revoke John Brennan’s security clearance!"

$Money$ Keeping these clearances up to date is expensive. Why should they get this benefit after they leave -- and it is a benefit. Tax them until their eyes bleed and see how many beg to lose theirs.

Now....watch them all go get 'hired on' by some beltway think tank into positions requiring TS/SCI. Or we suddenly discover that they are STILL employed by the Intelligence Community as....part-time annuitants.

[American Greatness] There was no honeymoon for the unlikely winner of the 2016 election. Progressives have in succession tried to sue to overturn Trump’s victory using several different approaches. First on the bogus claim of fraudulent voting machines. Then they sought to subvert the Electoral College by bullying electors into renouncing their respective states’ votes.
Massive protests and boycotts marked the inauguration. Then there were articles of impeachment introduced in the House. Some sued to remove Trump on a warped interpretation of the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution. Others brought in psychiatrists to testify that Trump was ill, disabled, or insane and should be removed in accordance with the 25th Amendment. The former FBI director, CIA director, and director of the Office of National Intelligence have variously smeared the president as a coward, a traitor, and a Russian mole.
The Mueller Investigation
We are about 430 days into Robert Mueller’s investigation; the special prosecutor whose team of lawyers and investigators has in a large part been made up either of Clinton donors, clear Clinton partisans, lawyers who have in the past represented Clinton interests or employees, or partisans already removed for expressing clear Trump hatred. The media grew ecstatic over its creation, dubbing it an "all-star" or "dream" team, as leaks assured the public that next week, next month, or "soon" there would be a sensational indictment proving that Trump colluded with the Russians to win the presidency.

[Townhall] Last week, Townhall reported the senseless killing of Weymouth, MA police officer Sgt. Michael Chesna on July 15th. More than 3,000 people attended a vigil held in Chesna's honor this past week, but it turns out his alleged killer, Emanuel Lopes, should have been in jail due to violating the conditions of his bail on a drug-dealing charge from October 2017.
The Boston Herald reports that Emanuel Lopes was arrested in October 2017 for dealing cocaine to minors. As part of his bail conditions, Judge Jeanmarie Carroll required that Lopes refrain from all drugs, including legal medicinal marijuana, and be subjected to pre-trial probation drug testing. The bail was set at $500 and was supposed to be revoked if Lopes failed to comply. In February 2018, Lopes failed a drug test, but claimed that he had a medicinal marijuana card at a court appearance in April. But, Lopes' prosecutors did not recommend bail revocation.
"I tested Mr. Lopes. He was positive for marijuana. He reports to me that he has a THC card," probation officer Michael Walsh informed the court Assistant Norfolk District Attorney Arthur Czugh ultimately decided against recommending his bail be revoked.
Thus, Lopes was able to roam Weymouth freely. Three months later, he was pulled over by Sgt. Chesna for driving erratically. Lopes exited his vehicle and attacked Sgt. Chesna with rocks, knocking the officer to the ground. The suspect then allegedly stole the officer's gun and fired at him, which led to the officer's death. Authorities say that Lopes then shot and killed a nearby 77-year-old neighbor, Vera Adams, who witnessed the event from her porch.

There's a general law of human performace called Fitt's Law that comes out of WWII. It states that performance follows an inverted U-shaped curve. There is an optimal level of performance at the top of the U-shaped curve. Performance falls off on either side of this optimum. Too little stimulation and performance suffers because of a loss of vigilance; too much stimulation and performance suffers because processing overload.
So, the research makes quite a bit of sense. It has implications for pilots, radar observers and drone missile operators as well as others where long vigils of monitoring are required.
[Telegraph] State auditors have told a French village near the Spanish border that it is "too rich" to continue taxing residents and should cancel council and property taxes this year.
Le Perthus, a community of 586 people, earns more than £700,000 a year from parking fees alone, equivalent to nearly £1,200 per inhabitant.
People from the surrounding region park in the village while they cross the border on foot to shop in Spain, where food, clothes and household goods are cheaper.
The village council has a surplus of well over £1 million in its coffers, while its current spending is minimal. Accordingly, the regional audit office has advised it to abandon this year’s local taxes because it has "an abundance of resources that are not being used".
André Pezziardi, head of the Occitanie Audit Office, said: "We concluded that local taxation should be reduced to zero for council and property taxes because the contributions of citizens must have a quid pro quo, and that of course is expenditure."
Last year the council spent less than £5,000 of £240,000 earmarked for public facilities because the mayor and councillors failed to reach agreement on budgets.
We are not better than that, and this is who we are. We’re fighting back, no matter how much and how shrilly the Fredocons complain. We’re Normal Americans and we’re done being the guests of honor at the liberals’ witch burnings.
Case in point, one James Gunn. He’s a tiresome lefty jerk who jumped on Twitter to cheer Rosanne’s recent defenestration by the SJW mob. Except it turns out he had a whole bunch of icky tweets from a decade ago lurking on the Interwebs, and some conservatives dug them up. Oops. He just had his pointy head stuck on a figurative pike and I just don’t care.
...Cultural war is hell, and I propose it be hell first and foremost on the liberals who started it.
I want people to be able to say what they want. I think it’s an awful idea to persecute folks for saying controversial stuff. I want people to not do that. But here’s the catch ‐ I want all people not to do that, not just us conservatives.
Except I’ve been outvoted by people like the aforementioned James Gunn. He likes the idea of persecuting people for what they say. Well, he liked it. Now that he’s no longer directing the next space raccoon movie, he probably likes it a lot less. Weird how that works out. Yeah, the Lottery is loads of fun until you draw the slip of paper with the black spot.
...The New Rules are stupid, but they are the rules, and the only way the Old Rules can come back is if everyone agrees to them. And that requires we deal the pain.
Right now, social justice fascism is just too valuable to them to just abandon. It works. It lets those who rightfully would have no power exploit the stupid and weak elite to exercise unearned authority. These goose-stepping aspiring Red Guards got a taste of power and they like it. And they are bad people. They have to be stopped, here and now.

[PJ] I liked what the great Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch had to say about the heavily redacted 400-page DOJ document dump regarding the FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page. It is, he said, a "self-licking ice cream cone." The image is appropriately surreal.
But the more I think about it, the more I think it is only partially applicable to the whole RussiaGate melodrama we’ve been witnessing for the last year and a half.
Wikipedia defines this autogleipsimous activity as "a self-perpetuating system that has no purpose other than to sustain itself."
The Mueller investigation and its attendant pseudo-pods in the media and "intelligence community" are indeed self-perpetuating.
But they exhibit a purpose that goes far beyond their own self-perpetuation.
No, in this safari, big game is the object, the end, the purpose, to wit the destruction of the president of the United States. Emphasis added.

Anyone notice that the rabid calls from the Deep State and 'Nattering Nabobs' for POTUS to meet with Mueller have tapered off significantly ?
Could it be that President Trump now has them by the nads, with a mid-term election nearing he's simply permitting the "investigation" to collapse under it's own weight and corruption ?

TORONTO (Reuters) - Fourteen people, including a young girl, were shot near downtown Toronto, police in Canada’s biggest city said on Sunday, with one person killed and the gunman also dead.
The young girl was in a critical condition, Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders said. "We are looking at all possible motives... and not closing any doors," Saunders told reporters at the site of the shooting.
Paramedics, firefighters and police converged on the shooting in Toronto’s east end, which has many popular restaurants, cafes and shops.
Police said the gunman had used a handgun. Earlier reports said nine people had been shot. Reports of gunfire in the city’s Greektown neighborhood began at 10 p.m. local time (0200 GMT Monday), CityNews.com said.
Witnesses said they heard 25 gunshots, the news website reported.
A BBC investigation in Britain several years ago revealed that at least 55% of the Pakistani community in Britain was married to a first cousin. The Times of India affirmed that “this is thought to be linked to the probability that a British Pakistani family is at least 13 times more likely than the general population to have children with recessive genetic disorders.”
The BBC’s research also discovered that while British Pakistanis accounted for just 3.4% of all births in Britain, they accounted for 30% of all British children with recessive disorders and a higher rate of infant mortality. It is not a surprise, therefore, that, in response to this evidence, a Labour Party MP has called for a ban on first-cousin marriage.

...The anti-Trump-and-Russia crusade represents a fundamental change in Democratic Party foreign policy. Roger Simon has aptly termed it a political sex change transformation, since the Democrats have long called for closer cooperation with Moscow. Indeed, during the Reagan years, Senator Ted Kennedy, the de facto head of the Democratic establishment, secretly approached Soviet dictator Yuri Andropov to take an active role in American politics.
Why are the Democrats and the spooks suddenly so ferociously anti-Putin? What can account for such an enormous sea change?
It’s a hard question to answer, because we do not know if it is based on new intelligence, or if it is primarily motivated by politics. So far as we know, there is considerable information tying Democrats to the Russians, and relatively less showing Russian links to Republicans, including the Trump crowd. We can document substantial Russian and Russia-linked involvement with the Clinton Foundation, some of it directly linked to U.S. policy decisions such as the one giving Russia effective control over the U.S. company Uranium One. We know that Bill Clinton received a huge payday for a speech in Moscow, orders of magnitude greater than what General Flynn was paid. Yet there is virtually unanimous Democratic condemnation of Trump’s failure to denounce Russian "meddling" in our politics, claiming it was in support for Trump.
It seems to me that the Democrats are accusing Trump of doing what they actually did.

...The media, however, virtually ignored another exchange between Gohmert and Strzok that revealed a potential bombshell. Gohmert asked Strzok about his meeting in 2016 with Frank Rucker and Janette McMillan, an investigator and lawyer, respectively, for then-Intelligence Community Inspector General Chuck McCullough (an Obama appointee).
McCullough sent them to see Strzok, who was the FBI’s deputy assistant director for the Counterintelligence Division, to brief him and three other FBI personnel about an "anomaly" that their forensic analysis had found in Clinton’s server.
According to Gohmert, the inspector general discovered that, with four exceptions, "every single one" of Clinton’s emails‐more than 30,000‐"were going to an address that was not on the distribution list."
In other words, according to the information Gohmert received from the intelligence inspector general, something was causing Clinton’s server to send copies of all of her email communications outside of the country "to an unauthorized source that was a foreign entity unrelated to Russia."
If true, this means that Clinton’s email communication with her top aides, department leadership, ambassadors, and other officials, including President Barack Obama, may have been read by an alien entity, perhaps a foreign power hostile to the United States. That could include confidential, sensitive, and even classified information about our foreign policy or our allies.
Gohmert’s exchange with Strzok doesn’t reveal who the foreign entity is, but if not the Russians, the likely culprit is the Chinese government, which has a special unit of hackers within its military that has long targeted the U.S.
Our intelligence agencies have identified the Chinese as responsible for the biggest data breach to ever hit the federal government, the 2015 hack of the Office of Personnel Management that stole the files, including security clearance applications, of 21 million current and former federal employees.

I think there is an IG investigation in State. I also think the Clinton Foundation is being looked at by the DOJ/FBI. These things seem to take forever. I hope things get cleaned up before the clock runs out.
Hillary's health appears to be on the wane. She's taken to wearing hospital gowns in public. I Don't think she is going to be a viable candidate in 2020 or beyond.
[American Thinker] It is a huge scandal that the vast, frightening surveillance powers of our intelligence agencies, normally forbidden from snooping on American citizens, were used to spy on a presidential campaign antagonistic to the sitting president. Far too slowly, the underlying documents that permitted this are coming to light. Last night, 412 pages of heavily redacted versions of the original FISA warrant and subsequent renewals used to spy on Carter Page (and others ‐ see below) were released.
Ten hard hitting "problems" or issues follow. I would reckon #5 (below) captures the essence of the FISA warrant:
Five: Surveilling Page is a classic "camel’s nose under the tent maneuver," meaning that other people of much greater interest to people spying on a rival campaign could also be targeted. The warrants use the expression "incidentally acquire foreign intelligence information as defined by other subsections of 50 U.S.C. 1801(e)" no fewer than 8 times. My emphasis added.

Surveilling Page is a classic "camel’s nose under the tent maneuver," meaning that other people of much greater interest to people spying on a rival campaign could also be targeted.
As has been said previously, Page was either a witting or unwitting tool of the Deep State. As far as I am concerned, his past association with the intelligence community, somewhat cavalier attitude regarding recent events, and lack of charges, put him in the 'witting' or accessory camp.
It is entirely likely that the FISA warrant, Mr. Page and the alleged Russian connection, were little more than vehicles. The real targets (US Persons) of the investigation remain redacted.
If Mr. Page was indeed a witting source, other redacted portions of the released data could contain his actual 'source reporting' which would be quite damaging to the FBI and intelligence community.
The entire FISA process has been corrupted and should be immediately terminated. A thorough review of previous criminal convictions gained through the FISA process should also be initiated.
#2
Will anyone go to jail for falsifying the FISA application? Will the judge who granted it and looked over it so casually ever chime in on how he was duped/used?
#3
I downloaded the Carter Page FISA material (I think from Judicial Watch). I took one look at it and said "What and why are they (DOJ and FBI) keeping things from the American people. They must be covering something up." Just about everything is redacted. Some Feeb must be suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome after all this redacting.
#4
They must be covering something up." Just about everything is redacted. Some Feeb must be suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome after all this redacting.
My guess (and only a guess) is that they've redacted contact reports, names, events, dates from Page or other well placed sources within the Trump campaign. It's not bloody Channel weather reporting from Dover's Manston Sta.
Got to be contact reporting. WTF else could it be ?
#5
There is a call to issue an unredacted copy to the public. Goodlatte has seen the unredacted version and is saying most of the info could be easily issued unredacted. [AlAhram] Egyptian authorities are going to close Rafah Crossing on the border with Gazoo on Monday for 24 hours, Egypt's state-owned news MENA reported.
According to MENA, the closure comes on the occasion of the anniversary of the 23 July revolution, which is a national holiday for the public and private sectors in Egypt.
The border crossing will be closed for 24 hours and reopened Tuesday.

[IsraelTimes] The standard ceramic vest Staff Sgt. Aviv Levi was wearing when he was fatally shot in the chest near the border Friday cannot stop the advanced weapon
An initial investigation by the IDF has concluded that Staff Sgt. Aviv Levi, killed Friday by Paleostinian sniper fire on the Gazoo border, was hit by an armor-piercing bullet fired from an Iranian-manufactured rifle, Hadashot TV news reported Sunday.
The gun used in the attack was said to be an Iranian replica of an Austrian Steyr rifle.
According to the report, the IDF was aware Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", was in possession of such weapons, which can penetrate the standard ceramic vests used by the majority of soldiers.
However, a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all... given the low likelihood of the rifle’s use, and the heavier weight of vests capable of protecting from such bullets, more specialized protective wear is only used in special cases.
As the military continued to investigate the circumstances of Levi’s death, hundreds participated in the soldier’s funeral in Petah Tikva, near Tel Aviv.
Levi, 21, an infantry soldier in the Givati Brigade, was close to Kibbutz Kisufim by the Gazoo border when he was shot at around 5:30pm on Friday.
The attack took place during the weekly border protests, and the army said he was killed by a Hamas gunman and that there was an exchange of fire.
He was the first IDF fatality on the Gazoo front since Operation Protective Edge in 2014.
He was wearing a bulletproof vest when he was hit in the chest, and was initially listed as seriously maimed but his condition deteriorated quickly.
In response to Levi’s death the Israel Air Force launched a major wave of strikes on Hamas targets across the Gazoo Strip on Friday evening.

[Daily Caller] House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte confirmed to Fox News Channel’s Maria Bartiromo Sunday morning that his committee among others want former CIA Director John Brennan and other former Obama officials to testify before its members.
"We have lots of questions for John Brennan and he will definitely be sought by the Committees for an interview," Goodlatte said. "This is an extremely disturbing thing to see both he and James Comey, supposedly impartial government officials carrying out their jobs in very important areas in intelligence gathering and law enforcement, express the kind of extreme bias that they’ve shown now, which I think reflects quite accurately on what they were doing back in 2016."
Goodlatte went on to confirm that not only will Brennan and Comey be sought but also former Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch, whose meeting with President Bill Clinton on an Arizona tarmac during the 2016 election became scrutinized as it happened while his then-presidential candidate wife Hillary Clinton was under federal investigation.
The news comes as the FBI released over 400 pages of highly redacted FISA document applications relating to the surveillance of onetime foreign policy advisor Carter Page during the 2016 Trump campaign.

[Mindanao Examiner] Philippine troops killed a top communist leader in a gun battle that left 2 soldiers injured in Zamboanga del Norte, an army spokesman said Thursday.
Military spokesman Ronald Suscano said Edwin Lapinig, commander of the New People’s Army in Western Mindanao, was killed in Sindangan town where police commandos, backed by soldiers were trying to arrest him on Wednesday. Lapinig opened fire on security forces which triggered the gun battle. No soldiers or policemen were killed or wounded in the firefight, said Suscano, who called the slain rebel commander a “notorious terrorist leader.”
Security forces tracked down Lapinig’s hideout after a long intelligence operation. The militant leader was also tagged as behind the killing of two soldiers and the disarming of policemen in Don Victoriano Chiongbian town in the neighboring province of Misamis Occidental, and the series of arson attacks on construction sites in Zamboanga Peninsula.
[Al Jazeera] Troops loyal to Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Oppressor of the Syrians and the Lebs... have recaptured a string of villages straddling the southern provinces of Deraa and Quneitra as they edge closer to a 1974 demilitarised zone with Israel.
The advancements come as more rebel fighters and their families departed southern Syria on Saturday as part of an evacuation deal reached with the government last week.
The first convoy of 55 buses, carrying some 2,800 people, arrived in northern Syria's opposition-held Idlib province on Saturday after rebels in Quneitra agreed to hand over medium to heavy weaponry and surrender the strategic area.
Another 48 buses left Quneitra on Saturday evening as part of the ongoing evacuations, with a final convoy expected to exit on Sunday before loyalist troops assume full control of the territory.
Footage emerged, however, of one of the convoys being stopped by Iranian-backed groups near Homs.
Sources told Al Jazeera the fighters pointed their guns at the buses and asked that the drivers stop the vehicles.
Syrian forces, backed by a Russian air campaign, have been pushing into the edges of Quneitra province following a relentless aerial bombardment campaign last month that routed rebels in adjoining Deraa province.
The Syrian army wants full control over Quneitra province where Israel has deep concerns over the presence of Iranian backed groups in the so-called Triangle of Death area
Western intelligence sources say the area is a bastion of Iranian-backed groups, including Leb's Hezbollah.
Israel signalled it would not impede the Syrian army presence in Quneitra as long as it steered away from the demilitarised zone, and said it will continue to escalate attacks along its frontier and elsewhere in Syria where it suspects Iranian-backed forces are stationed.

[PRESSTV] Two Paleostinian scientists have been found dead in an apartment in Algiers, says the Paleostinian Embassy in Algeria.
Suliman al-Farra, 34, and Mohammed Albana, both from Khan Younis in the Gazoo Strip, were found dead in an apartment on Sunday.
Based on preliminary findings, the pair either died of gas inhalation or due to electrocution from a short circuit.
Paleostinian reports claim the two scientists were assassinated.
A local news agency in Gazoo said that "the death occurred two days ago and was discovered by incident on Sunday evening after the neighbors smelled the smell of gas scattered in the building."
It also noted that police found one of the corpses near the door, while the other found in the bed.
"We don’t have any more details, I expect the authorities in Algeria and the Paleostinian embassy there to do everything necessary to understand what happened," said Albana's brother.

[WSJ via Breitbart] Despite a week of constant criticism by the media, Democrats, and certain members of the Republican party for his meeting with Vladamir Putin in Helsinki, Donald Trump’s approval ratings increased to the highest level of his presidency according to a Wall Street Journal/ NBC poll.
Michael C. Bender writes at the Wall Street Journal:
WASHINGTON‐President Donald Trump’s approval rating edged higher during a week in which he faced withering criticism following a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, signaling that he is positioned to weather the latest controversy sparked by his unusual brand of politics.
Mr. Trump’s job approval rating rose to 45% in a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, the highest mark of his presidency and up 1 percentage point from June. The survey was taken over a four-day period that started July 15, a day before Mr. Trump’s news conference with Mr. Putin in which he questioned the conclusion of U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia meddled in the 2016 election.
Underpinning Mr. Trump’s job approval was support from 88% of Republican voters. Of the four previous White House occupants, only George W. Bush, in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, had a higher approval rating within his own party at the same point in his presidency.
The survey found Democrats leading by 6 percentage points on the question of which party should control the next Congress, down from a 10-point advantage in June and 7 points in April. Some 49% of voters in the new survey said Democrats should lead the next Congress, while 43% favored the GOP.

Actually his ratings might not be so high if they treated him like Obama. I wouldn't be surprised if someone cross-indexed trust in media with #NeverTrump and got a solid overlap.
#4
88% of Republicans support him. So we are finally circling the wagons after 2 years of nonstop screeching attacks? This should not come as a surprise to anyone.

[IsraelTimes] The site has been bombed by Israel in the past and the US accuses Syria of producing sarin gas there; hours before attack PM vowed to keep hitting Iranian presence in Syria
Some photos and video at the link, though I'm not sure they're very informative.
Israeli jets reportedly carried out a strike Sunday on a missile production facility in northwest Syria that observers say was supervised by Iranians. In the past, the site was allegedly used to produce and store chemical weapons.
"One of our military positions in Masyaf was the target of an Israeli air aggression," Syria’s official news agency SANA said quoting a military source. Hebrew media quoted Syrian opposition officials as saying that several Hezbollah members were killed, but the reports could not be confirmed. SANA said the strikes cause only "material damage."
[IsraelTimes] 2 months after first embarking from Denmark, four boats carrying some 40 activists prepare for final 10-day leg
A new flotilla of ships intent on breaking Israel’s 10-year blockade of the Gazoo Strip was due to set sail early this week from the Italian port of Palmero, two months after it first set off from Copenhagen in Denmark.
The flotilla, which includes some 40 activists on board, has been planned by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, an umbrella of organizations aiming to end the closure.
Among those on board are Prof. Ismail Nazari, chairman of Malaysia’s boycott Israel campaign; Charlie Andreason of Sweden, who spent time in Israeli detention for his role on the Marianne, a Swedish-flagged trawler leading a flotilla of boats in June 2015; Spanish Jewish activist Zohar Shamir Chamberlain; and Heather Milton-Lightening, an activist for indigenous Canadians.
Having stopped in 15 European ports since setting off on March 22, the four boats making up the "Freedom Flotilla" were expected to depart for the final 10-day leg to the Gazoo coast this weekend but were delayed "a day or two" due to repair work needed on two of the vessels, according to organizers.
Before departing, the flotilla was welcomed by the mayor of the southern Italian town of Palermo who renamed a section of the port in honor of the late Paleostinian leader Yasser Arafat.
Mayor Leoluca Orlando made the announcement last week after the arrival of the flotilla, the New Matilda reported. New Matilda editor Chris Graham is on one of the flotilla boats.
Many attempts have been made to draw attention to the Paleostinian cause using blockade-busting flotillas. From 2008 through 2016, international activists have sailed 31 boats to challenge the Israeli naval blockade of Gazoo.
In May, Israel’s Navy stopped a boat carrying 17 Paleostinians from Gazoo that attempted to breach the maritime blockade of the coastal strip. It was the first public attempt to break out of the blockade and not into it.
The attempt was timed to mark eight years since the Mavi Marmara, a boat owned by a Ottoman Turkish group, sought to break the blockade and was boarded by Israeli troops. Nine Ottoman Turkish citizens were killed in the ensuing melee between IDF soldiers and armed protesters.
The boarding of the al-Hurriyah in 2010 took place in the midst of an extensive exchange between Paleostinian terrorist groups and the Israeli military, in which some 200 rockets and mortar shells were fired from Gazoo into Israel, and the IDF struck dozens of targets in the Gazoo Strip in retaliation.

The "flotilla" are both brave or stupid ( is it possible to be both or are they mutually exclusive? ). It is not easy to hide on the briny deep. The Israeli Navy should have no real difficulty in finding the "flotilla".
And the Israelis have demonstrated their willingness to board you and kill you ( if necessary ). I predict a single word meaning both toilet and stupid as a Noun.

In a lot of cases the countries China is 'investing in' are long-standing client states and the programs are meant to reinforce that status. Client as in 'Patron/Client' in Roman Republic Feudalism way back when. It's the word we have but everyone misuses.
Clearly many Israelis aren't terribly concerned about the not-war with Gaza.
[IsraelTimes] Nationwide rallies and strikes demanding equal surrogacy rights for gay men culminate in mass rally where anger focuses on Netanyahu.
Tens of thousands of Israelis packed into Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square on Sunday night to protest the exclusion of gay couples from a recently passed surrogacy law that has drawn accusations of LGBT discrimination in the Jewish state.
Gay rights advocates and their supporters observed an unprecedented one-day strike earlier on Sunday, and large demonstrations were held in major cites across Israel, where hundreds were seen waving rainbow flags, blocking traffic, and shouting "shame."
Many focused their anger at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who last week pledged to pass legislation supporting surrogacy for gay fathers, but then voted against it, reportedly under pressure from ultra-Orthodox coalition partners.
"It’s very important, I’m not from the community, but I believe in equality," a protester named Eti told the Times of Israel. "It’s just not right that some people can’t have kids."
Sunday’s protests were announced last Wednesday by Agudah ‐ Israel’s umbrella organization for the LGBTQ community ‐ shortly after the Knesset voted on a surrogacy bill which extended eligibility to single women, but not to men, effectively preventing homosexual couples from having a child via a surrogate.
Netanyahu had initially expressed support for a clause to be added to the legislation that would extend surrogacy rights to gay couples, but at the last-minute voted against it, apparently to appease ultra-Orthodox cabinet members who oppose giving gay men the right to father children through surrogacy.
Channel 10 reported at the time that in return for Netanyahu’s vote, the Haredi parties agreed to support the Likud-backed Jewish nation-state bill, another controversial piece of legislation that was up for its final votes later that week.
Amid mounting criticism, Netanyahu later denied that he changed his mind his position on surrogate parenthood for same-sex couples, saying he voted against the measure to ensure the bill would pass. He vowed to support a separate bill legalizing surrogacy for gay couples at a later Knesset session.

From a late posting last evening by Skid.
[FOX] The acting watchdog at the CIA, who has been accused of retaliating against whistleblowers, is resigning, the agency confirmed Friday.
Christopher Sharpley, whose nomination for the agency’s inspector general post had stalled in the Senate, said in a memo to employees that he is stepping down within 30 days.
"After three decades of public service, he has decided to continue his career outside the agency, and we wish him the best in this new chapter," CIA spokesman Ryan Trapani said in a statement. "CIA's commitment to rigorous, independent oversight is unwavering, and the Office of Inspector General will carry on that important mission through the transition."
Sharpley is also withdrawing his inspector general nomination, CNN reported.
His reason for resigning from the agency and withdrawing his nomination was not immediately clear. Spend more time with the family, philately, memoirs ?
The Senate wasn't prepared to advance Sharpley's nomination until a resolution to complaints from two former CIA employees-turned-whistleblowers who alleged retaliation, according to a congressional aide who wasn't authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke only on condition of anonymity.

[PRESSTV] The Paleostinian Authority has described the so-called peace plan meant to resolve the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict as a US "conspiracy," which has been thwarted but still threatens the whole region.
In a statement carried by the official Wafa news agency on Saturday, Paleostinian Authority front man Nabil Abu Rudeineh said that US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... 's much touted "deal of the century" had been foiled thanks to the "steadfastness" of the Paleostinian people.
He, however, warned that the "conspiracy" could have unpredictable repercussions for the region.
"The region is now at a crossroads to decide the fate of principle issues that affect the higher interests of its peoples, which some parties may jeopardize by creating a clear break-up of nationalist position," Abu Rudeineh said.
He also called on the Paleostinians and Arab countries "to stick together for the national interest to prevent the transformation of the deal of the century, which has slowed down but did not end, into a regional deal whose consequences cannot be predicted."
Abu Rudeineh also touched on the issue of Jerusalem al-Quds, which the US recognized last year as the "capital" of Israel.
Israel lays claim to the whole Jerusalem al-Quds, but the international community views the city’s eastern sector as an occupied territory and the Paleostinians consider it as the capital of their future state.

[PhilStar] Five Abu Sayyaf bandits and a Philippine soldier were killed in two separate encounters in Sulu on Thursday.
Military spokesman Gerry Besana said four followers of Abu Sayyaf sub-leader Almujer Yaddah were killed and four other rebels injured in the clash with soldiers at the boundary of Barangays Tanum and Liang in Patikul town. Joint Task Force Sulu commander Divino Rey Pabayo said, "We lost one soldier... Two others who were wounded were evacuated to the Camp Teodulfo Station Hospital based in Jolo."
Another clash, in which another rebel was killed, occurred between troops and the group of Almadjan Sahidjuan, alias Apoh Mike, in Barangay Tabu-Bato, Maimbung.
The military has intensified its operations against the Abu Sayyaf after six kidnap victims rescued by the military on Tuesday revealed that they were with two other hostages when they were held captive in Sulu for 20 days. The rescued victims said they were with Jelster Ed Tiu Quimbo, the son of Labason town Mayor Eddie Quimbo, who was kidnapped in March last year, and coconut farmer Jose Duterte, who was seized along with his wife Jessica in Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte last year.

[PRESSTV] Police in central Britain have made an arrest over the latest acid attack that targeted a three-year-old boy, which authorities believe was deliberate.
Police on Sunday appealed for any information about the alleged attack, which took place a day earlier in Worcester and inflicted serious injuries on the boy.
Police arrested a 39-year-old man from Wolverhampton. Images of three other men were seen in the media to whom investigators wanted to speak about the case.
Authorities said they believed the incident, which occurred at about 2:15 pm pm local time at a shop in Worcester, was a deliberate attack. They said the substance that wounded the boy may be acid or some other corrosive element.
“At this time, the motive for the attack is unclear. Officers are working hard to establish exactly what happened and what the substance involved was,” Chief Supt Mark Travis from the West Mercia police said, adding, “We have used the phrase acid attack because I think that means something to the general public ... we are treating this as a deliberate attack on a three-year-old boy.”

[ALMASDARNEWS] According to the Hmeymim airbase representative, one drone approaching the military facility was terminated on Saturday and the second one ‐ on Sunday morning.
"On Saturday, July 21, 2018, at nightfall, the Russian air defense at the Hmeymim airbase detected an unidentified small-sized air target (UAV) at a considerable distance approaching the Russian military facility. The aerial target was destroyed by the Russian airbase’s standard anti-aircraft guns. On Sunday morning, July 22, 2018, the air defense destroyed at long range another unknown UAV that was approaching the Hmeymim airbase from the northwest," the report said.
There were no casualties or material damage in both cases and the Russian air base is operating as normal, the representative added.
Only a day before this statement, the Russian military mentioned an unidentified drone, which had been destroyed by air defenses.

[Al Jazeera] At least 3,000 villagers have been forced to leave their homes in the Lake Chad region after a Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... attack on a village near Chad's border with Niger left at least 18 people dead.
Lake Chad governor, Mohammed Aba Salah, told Al Jazeera on Sunday that the fighters also kidnapped 10 women.
"Boko Haram fighters slit the throats of two [people] and shot the other 16," he said. "One of the 10 women kidnapped by Boko Haram managed to escape and return home."
Aba Salah also said that the evacuation following the attack was "a precautionary measure".
Boko Haram is in control of the area across Lake Chad's borders with both Niger and Nigeria, he said.

[Al Jazeera] The indigenous Moro Moslems, a minority population in the predominantly Christian Philippines, are on the verge of securing their own substantially autonomous territory as Congress hands over a law for President Rodrigo Duterte to sign on Monday.
If all goes according to plan, the Bangsamoro Organic Law will establish the Bangsamoro autonomous region on the country's southern island of Mindanao and may put an end to five decades of violent conflict that has left more than 100,000 people dead. While the law is expected to be signed on Monday, it will still need to be ratified by a plebiscite, which is expected to take place later this year.
The Bangsamoro, which means "Nation of the Moro", will replace a nominally autonomous Moslem region which has largely been run by the central government in Manila, and has failed to quell the Moro rebellion.
The law will allow the Bangsamoro government to have its own parliament, retain the lion's share of local revenues, regularly receive a fixed portion of the central government's revenues and manage the territory's natural resources.
It will also incorporate Islamic law into the region's justice system.
In return for autonomy, the law will require the rebel group the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) to gradually disband its thousands-strong army.
Despite the bill only covering "85 to 90 percent" of items originally afforded the rebels in a 2014 peace agreement that foreshadowed the measure, leaders of the MILF say they are satisfied.
"This may not be a perfect law but it is good to start with," said Ghazali Jaafar, MILF's second-in-command.
"And, God willing, now that we have this government, we can improve the lives of our people."

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Israel will reopen Gazoo’s main commercial crossing and expand its fishing zone on Tuesday if a lull in cross-border tensions holds after a truce with the enclave’s dominant Paleostinian group Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,, the Israeli defense minister said.
Israel shut the Kerem Shalom border terminal and reduced the fishing zone to 11 km from 17 km on July 9 in response to fire-starting kites and helium balloons flown over by Paleostinians as part of weeks of border protests.
Hostilities escalated last week, with Paleostinian gunfire killing an Israeli soldier and Israel’s military killing three Hamas fighters and a fourth Paleostinian. The violence subsided on Saturday after Egypt and the United Nations ...the Oyster Bay money pit... mediated a truce.
"We saw, yesterday, what might have been the calmest day since March 30," Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman told news hounds on Sunday.
In weekly Gazoo protests since then, at least 140 Paleostinians have been killed by the Israeli army in what it called border protection.
"If today and tomorrow see a continuation of the situation as it was yesterday, then on Tuesday we will resume routine activity here at Kerem Shalom (border terminal) and return the fishing zone to the ranges previously in place."
Kerem Shalom is the main export-import conduit for the 2 million Paleostinians of Gazoo, which also borders Egypt.
During the terminal’s closure, humanitarian aid was still allowed through Lieberman said traffic slowed to about 140 trucks a day from some 1,000 to 1,100 trucks per day.

[AsiaTimes]Saudi Arabia, one of three GCC members blockading fellow member state Qatar, is planning the Salwa Canal, a 60km-long channel which would effectively make Qatar an island.
The proposed canal would run through Saudi territory across the entire base of the Qatar Peninsula, officially creating a new sea lane and providing opportunities for tourism.Yet by physically slicing Qatar off from the coast of Arabia, the canal would also create a 60-kilometer-long, 200-meter-wide symbol of the now 14-month old Gulf Crisis.

[DAWN] The man who blew himself up at a Mastung election rally on July 13 and killed nearly 150 people, including Balochistan Awami Party candidate Siraj Raisani, was a student at a seminary in Karachi before being shifted to Afghanistan along with his family, where he got militancy training, it emerged on Friday.
The alleged suicide bomber has been identified by authorities as Hafeez Abbasi, a young man in his early 20s.
Sources in the Sindh police’s Counter-Terrorism Department told Dawn that their counterparts in Balochistan had shared with them a preliminary report of the suicide explosion and they carried out further work here.
The CTD-Quetta had provided fingerprints of an unclaimed body to the CTD-Sindh to match it with the record of the National Database and Registration Authority. It transpired that the alleged suicide bomber was a resident of Gharibabad Mohalla in Dhabeji, Thatta.
A special CTD team was immediately sent there on July 17 and to their utter surprise, his father, Mohammed Nawaz, without any hesitation told them that his son Hafeez had been shifted to Afghanistan’s Spin Boldak area.
Three sisters, two brothers living in Afghanistan
Mr Nawaz, who is living with another son, Haq Nawaz, in Thatta also told the CTD team that not only Hafeez but his wife, his two other sons and three daughters had also been shifted to Afghanistan.
The family originally hailed from Molia village in Abbottabad.
They said that Abbasi had studied at a seminary in Shah Faisal Colony for three years where he adopted the path toward militancy. His certain colleagues at the seminary were instrumental in motivating him towards militancy and they allegedly sent him to Afghanistan.
The sources disclosed that as per information provided by his father, his three daughters, who had been shifted to Afghanistan, were ‘Alima’ (religious scholars) and two of them had married IS militants there.
His two more sons, Abdul Aziz and Abdul Shakoor, were also living in Afghanistan, they said, adding that Shakoor recently told his father that now “it’s his turn” to become a suicide bomber, said the sources.
Abbasi’s eldest sister was married and lived with her family in their hometown in Abbottabad.
The suspected bomber’s father along with his son used to sell milk and vegetables in the Dhabeji area.
The CTD sources said that the father did not show any remorse or express any feeling of sadness when they informed him that his son had carried out a suicide attack in the Mastung rally.
Links with former Karachi TTP chief
The father told the CTD that Abbasi was working with Haji Daud there.
A CTD official told Dawn, on the condition of anonymity, that Haji Daud, also known as Daud Policewala, was a policeman in Karachi till mid-2000. He was also appointed as the city chief of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) by now slain Mullah Fazlullah.
The official said they got reports that Haji Daud had developed differences with Mullah Fazlullah as he joined the militant Islamic State group. He was also reportedly injured in a clash with TTP militants there.
The sources said that the CTD officials got the mobile phone number of Hafeez from his father and by using latest technology they came to know that he had arrived in Chaman from Afghanistan on June 29.
He was also in touch with at least nine persons, including three belonging to Sindh, they added.
The alleged bomber was later moved to Qila Abdullah and subsequently to Mastung, where he had carried out the suicide attack on Siraj Raisani’s election rally.
The CTD-Sindh informed their counterparts in Balochistan about Abbasi’s alleged handler in Qila Abdullah and his local facilitator in Mastung.
Important arrests made
In Karachi and Thatta, the sources added that law enforcement agencies conducted raids and made “some important arrests”.
A CTD official feared that Abbasi’s younger brother Shakoor, who is a teenager, might carry out a terrorist attack.
The official, who wished not to be named, told Dawn that they had arrested some members of the IS network in Karachi.
He added that concerted efforts were under way to ‘dismantle’ the group before it could strike again in the country.
The CTD official believed that IS was “actively flourishing and being patronised by foreign intelligence agencies” in Spin Boldak “to sabotage the election process, trigger destabilisation in the country and to mainly target CPEC [China-Pakistan Economic Corridor- related activities”.

[Al Jazeera] Hundreds of Israeli settlers have stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem to commemorate the historic destruction of Jewish temples, referred to in Israel as Tisha B'av.
Palestinian sources said that at least 1,023 settlers entered the compound on Sunday under heavy police protection.
The Al-Aqsa compound, which houses the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque, represents the third holiest site in Islam, while in Judaism it is considered their most holy place.
Yehuda Glick, a far-right Israeli Knesset member, who campaigns for Jewish access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, was seen in the compound.
Firas al-Dibis, an official with Jerusalem's Jordan-run Religious Endowments Authority, told Anadolu News Agency that Israeli police stormed the compound before the settlers and carried out security sweeps and search.
Al-Dibis also said Israeli forces denied access to Najeh Bakirat, a scholar at the Endowments Authority, and allowed Muslim worshippers inside the mosque after seizing their IDs.
According to Palestinian local news agencies, a Palestinian boy was arrested after raising the Palestinian flag in the compound.
A record number of Jews were said to have visited the Temple Mount on Sunday to mark the Tisha B’Av fast mourning the destruction of the two biblical temples, prompting rebukes from Jordan and the Paleostinian Authority.
Yehudah Glick, a Likud MK and Temple Mount activist, said that 1,400 Jews visited the holy site. That number would surpass the record 1,300 Jews who visited the Temple Mount last year for Tisha B’Av.
However, Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried... Firas al-Dibis, the media coordinator of the Moslem Waqf, put the number at 1,023, according to PA state-run news outlet WAFA. Police did not immediately respond to The Times of Israel with an official tally.
Tisha B’Av, which commemorates the destruction of both temples and several other disasters in Jewish history, began Saturday evening and will end at nightfall on Sunday. Both temples stood on the mount, which today houses the al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock Shrine.
The Temple Mount is administered by the Waqf, a religious trust run and funded by Jordan. The site is holy to both Judaism and Islam and is a major flashpoint in the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict.
Some 10 people were nabbed You have the right to remain silent... while on or near the Temple Mount holy site, though several of them have reportedly been released.
A video posted by the group Students for the Temple Mount showed large crowds on the esplanade and scuffles with police. Another video posted by the group showed police leading away a Jewish man for prostrating himself at the site in violation of its rules prohibiting non-Moslem prayer.

[Dhaka Tribune] In a major blow to the country's power sector, the Barapukuria thermal power plant in Dinajpur has been shut down owing to an acute shortage of coal after 142,000 tons of coal meant for the power plant disappeared.
The operations of the power plant was stopped around 10:20pm on Sunday, Power Development Board (PDB) Director Saiful Hasan Chowdhury told UNB.
Officials at the PDB, which operates the plant, said they had to completely shut down the plant because of the short supply of coal from the nearby Barapukuria Coal Mining Company Ltd (BCMCL).
Northern districts to suffer power outage
Due to this unexpected shutdown of the power plant, the northern region of Bangladesh ‐ especially comprises Rangpur, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Gaibandha, Dinajpur and Thakurgaon districts ‐ may experience unusual power cuts or low voltage problems.
The PDB chief said the authorities were trying to ensure power supply to the districts from alternative sources, such as power plants in other districts like Sirajganj, Khulna and Rajshahi.
"The PDB has urged Petrobangla [Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation] to ensure adequate gas supply to the gas-fired power plants in Sirajganj and other districts so more power can be generated and supplied to the northern region," he added.
Probe committee formed
Allegations have been raised that the coal, worth around Tk227 crore, was illegally sold from Barapukuria coal mine.
BCMCL Managing Director Md Habib Uddin Ahmed has been withdrawn by Petrobangla, while the company's Secretary (GS Administration) Md Abul Quashem Pradhania has been transferred to the Pashchimanchal Gas Distribution Company Ltd.
BCMCL Mining Department General Manager ATS Nuruzzaman Chowdhury and Deputy General Manager Md Khademul have been suspended.
Md Ayub Khan Chowdhury, director (planning) of Petrobangla, has been appointed as the acting managing director of the coal mine company.
Meanwhile, ...back at the pond, the radioactive tadpoles grown into frogs. Really big frogs, in fact... State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid Bipu told the Bangla Tribune on Sunday that a committee had been formed to probe the allegations.

[Daily Caller] Minnesota Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison suggested that Republicans want to suppress voters in a Sunday tweet.
"Yup," Ellison, who’s also the Democratic National Committee’s deputy chair, replied to another tweet saying "’If voting didn’t matter, the GOP wouldn’t be working so hard to prevent people from doing it.'"
This isn’t the first time Ellison has linked the GOP to voter suppression.
“More proof of Republicans using race to suppress POC votes. Read before you judge,” Ellison tweeted in 2016 with a link to an article that said Republicans who live in districts with “substantial” black populations are most likely to be supportive of voter ID laws.
Ellison also tweeted in March: "We’ve got to ask who benefits from all this racism. Who loses? All of us! Because Florida purged black voters, the whole country got George Bush, which led us into war and enriched big pharma. This happened to everyone of every color. Racism helps elites control everyone else."

War is a political process. In a symmetrical war the US enjoys overwhelming superiority, but given current political paradigms this does not matter.
There's a broad consensus among Western politicians that the asymmetrical conflict with the Islamic world should be resolved by appeasing the populaces of Islamic nations.
Hence the payments of danegeld aid and the acceptance of Rushdie rules for non-muslims in the West.
The Iranian leadership can reasonably believe that Trump's current threats are as inconsequential as GWB's threats against the Taliban in 2001 were.
I predict they will defy Trump and force him to make a decision. Interesting times.

[Al Jazeera] At least 14 people have been killed and more than 40 maimed in a suicide kaboom near Kabul's international airport that struck minutes after Afghan Vice President Rashid Dostum ...ethnic Uzbek warlord who distinguished himself fighting the Soviets and the Taliban. The story that he had a bad guy run over with a tank is an exaggeration. It was an armored personnel carrier... returned to the country from more than a year in exile, police said.
Kabul police front man Hashmat Stanekzai said the blast on Sunday went off near the main airport entrance, where supporters had been waiting to greet Dostum as his motorcade passed on its way to the city centre.
Dostum, who was travelling in an armoured vehicle, was unharmed in the blast, which was claimed by the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS, also known as ISIS) group.
"The blast happened right after Dostum's convoy left the airport," said Stanekzai.
Civilians, including a child, and security force members were among the casualties, according to Najib Danish, interior ministry front man.
He added that the jacket wallah was identified by police but he detonated his explosive vest before he could be safely apprehended.
Dostum's return
Dostum, who is linked to a number of of human rights ...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless... abuses in Afghanistan, was mobbed like a celebrity as he left the chartered plane from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... where he has lived since May 2017.
Dostum's triumphant return was in stark contrast to the outrage he faced after reports in 2016 that his guards had seized political rival Ahmad Eshchi and subjected him to beatings, torture and violent sexual abuse.
He denied Eshchi's accusations but, amid international demands that he face justice to show that powerful politicians were not above the law, he left the country in May last year, saying he needed to seek medical treatment in Turkey.
On Saturday, Ghani's front man said accusations against Dostum would be dealt with by independent legal authorities.
Once referred to as a "quintessential warlord" by the US State Department, Dostum has long been accused of serious human rights abuses.
Shortly after the US-led campaign in 2001, he was accused of killing Taliban ...Arabic for students... prisoners by leaving them locked in airless cargo containers. He has denied the accusations.

Baghdad (Iraqinews.com) – A Baghdad-based war monitor announced on Sunday that the mass protests in Iraq had left 831 protesters killed and injured over the past 10 days.
Speaking at a press conference, Mostafa Saadon, the spokesman for the Iraqi Observatory for Human Rights, said, "the clashes between security forces and protesters in Iraq's south and center left 831 people dead and injured since the start of the demonstrations 10 days ago."
Yes, but how many of each?
According to Saadon, Iraqi authorities are currently launching "a wide-scale security campaign in search of the activists who took part in the demonstrations in Baghdad and the other governorates."
"Iraqi authorities arrested 348 people for taking part in the rallies, 314 of whom were released later after signing a pledge that they will not stage or call for any protests afterwards," Hesam el-Hashemy, a member of the Iraqi Observatory for Human Rights, said.
Mass demonstrations against unemployment, corruption and poor services spread further across southern Iraqi provinces, prompting Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to rush from a NATO summit in Brussels to Basra to meet with local officials and tribal leaders in a bid to restore calm.
The demonstrations started two weeks ago in Basra province, but they later extended to other cities, including Amara, Nasiriya, Karbala and the Shiite holy city of Najaf. There were also protests in parts of the capital, Baghdad.
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr is planning to order his supporters to take to the streets and join the angry protesters in their mass demonstrations against unemployment, corruption and poor services in Iraq, a Lebanese newspaper reported Sunday.
According to Lebanon's Al Akhbar newspaper, there is a big possibility that "the Sadrists would join the protesters, particularly after Sadr called on the winning parties in the elections held last May to suspend talks over the new government formation until the protesters' demands are met."
"The winning political parties in the election have to suspend all political dialogues for forming coalitions and until they meet protesters' rightful demands," Sadr wrote on Tweeter Friday in his first public comments on unrest which has swept the south.

Al-Sadr's Sairoon coalition won 54 parliamentary seats in the May 12 parliamentary polls, followed by an al-Hashd al-Shaabi-linked coalition (47 seats) and Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi's Victory bloc (42 seats), according to the election commission.
Al-Sadr's coalition did not win the majority needed to form a government alone but will play a primary role in selecting the next prime minister.
[PRESSTV] The front man of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says those who support turbans conducting operations against Iran's border guards will face IRGC’s "iron fist."
Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif made the remarks on Sunday following the huge turnout at the funeral ceremony held on Saturday for 11 Iranian forces killed in a terrorist attack on a military checkpoint on the western border with Iraq.
He noted that the "glorious funeral" held for the slain Iranian forces by people of Iran's Kordestan Province was a sign of strong ties between the nation and the IRGC and said, "The iron fist of the IRGC is ready to deal a direct blow to supporters of terrorists."
At least 11 members of the IRGC bit the dust in the terrorist attack occurred in the village of Dari in Marivan district, which led to an kaboom at an arms depot.
During the festivities, a large number of bad boyz were potted and several others fled with injuries.
Sharif further said the IRGC Ground Forces have played a successful role in countering the enemies' plots against the Islamic Theocratic Republic and bringing security and peace to people living in the border areas during recent years, particularly after the emergence of ISISTakfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed... terrorist group in the neighboring countries.
He added that the IRGC and other security and intelligence units have managed to inflict heavy damage on terrorist groups and mercenaries backed by the enemy's spy and security organizations thanks to complete command of the situation and their full preparedness.

Mnangagwa, who came to power when Mugabe was removed in a de facto coup in November, is on the campaign trail ahead of what is expected to be a tight contest with his main rival, Nelson Chamisa, the 40-year-old leader of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).
The white Zim-bob-weans who are left in the country ‐ estimated at around 30,000 ‐ would usually vote MDC or for another opposition party, given the strained relationship with Mnangagwa’s ruling ZANU-PF.
But Mnangagwa, a 75-year-old former Mugabe ally, has pledged to fix racial divisions and end the violent seizure of white-owned commercial farms, a policy that Mugabe said was intended to redress post-colonial imbalances.
Many farms ended up in the hands of powerful politicians, soldiers or local chiefs and fell into disrepair. "I know of some chiefs who have moved from one farm to another. Then they run it down. [ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Jordan on Sunday received 422 White Helmets rescue workers and their family members evacuated from Syria, the foreign ministry in Amman said, after earlier saying the kingdom had given permission for 800 to arrive.
Foreign ministry spokesman Mohammed al-Kayed said Britain, Germany and Canada had initially agreed to accept around 827 rescuers and their relatives, but eventually settled on a figure of 422 and they arrived Sunday morning.
According to Jordan’s official Petra news service, the 422 Syrian refugees will be resettled in Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany within three months. The Jordanian government initially reported that 800 had crossed the border, but later clarified that this was an incorrect number.
Jordan has a standing policy not to accept any more Syrian refugees, as does Israel.
On Sunday evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the decision to facilitate the transfer of the "White Helmets" through Israel into Jordan was made in light of requests from US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... and other world leaders.
"Several days ago, President Trump contacted me, as did Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, and others, and requested that we assist in evacuating hundreds of ’White Helmets’ from Syria," Netanyahu said in a statement from his office.
"These are people who saved lives and were now in mortal danger. Therefore, I approved their passage through Israel to additional countries, as an important humanitarian gesture," the prime minister added.
Founded in 2013, the Syria Civil Defense, or White Helmets, is a network of first responders which rescues maimed in the aftermath of air strikes, shelling or blasts in rebel-held territory.
The White Helmets have rescued thousands of civilians trapped under the rubble or caught up in fighting in battered opposition-held zones along various fronts of Syria’s conflict.
Some members have received training abroad, including in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire.... , returning to instruct colleagues on search-and-rescue techniques.
Since its formation, when Syria’s conflict was nearing its third year, more than 200 of its volunteers have died and another 500 have been maimed.
The group’s motto ‐ "To save one life is to save all of humanity" ‐ is drawn from a verse of the Koran.
The White Helmets are named for the distinctive white hard hats worn by volunteers and have gained international renown for their daring rescues of victims from rubble following regime Arclight airstrikes, often filmed and circulated on social media.

NENDAZ, Switzerland (Reuters) - The soft sounds of hundreds of wooden Swiss alpine horns filled the valley below Switzerland’s Mount Tracouet on Sunday, as the world’s largest festival of its kind concluded after three days.
The traditional instruments, alphorn in German or cor des Alpes in French, look like supersized smoking pipes.
Over three meters long and built in several connecting pieces to make transport manageable, they are beloved by many Swiss for whom the somber tones conjure images of snow-topped mountain peaks swirling in the clouds.

The story that he had a bad guy run over with a tank is an exaggeration. It was an armored personnel carrier... demanded the immediate release of his close ally and former police chief of Qaisar district of Faryab Nizamuddin Qaisari.
Gen. Dostum raised the demand shortly after returning to Kabul and appearing before a press conferene in his office in Kabul.
He said he will hold talks with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. .. regarding the release of Qasairi.
However, if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well... he warned that he will leave the country once again if President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani did not accept his demand for the release of Qaisari.
This comes as sources close to Junbish Milli Party had earlier said that the First Vice President General Abdul Rashid Dostum will step up efforts for the release of Commander Nizamuddin Qaisari after his return to Kabul today.
A front man of Junbish Milli Party, Bashir Ahmad Tahyanj, said Commander Qaisari will soon be released from the detention facility of the Intelligence Directorate.
He said Commander Qaisari will be shifted to his accommodation after his release from the Intelligence Directorate’s detention facility where the First Vice President would be able to visit him.
Tahyanj did not disclose further information in this regard but added that the peaceful protests would continue regarding the recent upheavals and further decisions will be jointly taken after Gen. Dostum’s return.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian forces have officially imposed full control over Nawa city in southern Syria after murderous Moslems left to the country’s deal as per evacuation deal with the Syrian Government.
Fierce battles were fought for the last holy warrior bastion before the Nusra-linked holy warrior fighters succumbed to Syrian Army’s terms of surrender.

[Gateway Pundit] On Saturday, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton announced documents related to the FISA warrants on Trump’s former campaign advisor, Carter Page were released by the FBI ‐ and arrived at JW headquarters.
Obama’s Deep State FBI and DOJ obtained a FISA warrant on Carter Page in October of 2016 and three subsequent renewals in order to spy on Trump’s campaign and transition team.
Comey, Rosenstein, McCabe and Sally Yates all signed the FISA applications even though Hillary’s fraudulent Russia dossier was used as a pretext to obtain the warrants.
The newly released docs reveal Obama’s Deep State DOJ and FBI withheld information about Hillary Clinton and the DNC being behind the information used to obtain the FISA warrant.
It gets worse...
The newly released docs reveal the FBI used anti-Trump media reports from liberal news sites in order to obtain the Carter Page FISA warrants.
The FBI relied on a July 18, 2016, story in the Washington Post with the headline, "Trump campaign guts GOP’s anti-Russia stance on Ukraine" ‐ a blatantly false description of events, says the Washington Examiner’s Byron York.

The MSM is complicit? What a shocker.
If the premiere intelligence agencies are relying on the MSM for their actionable info, we are in trouble. That's the Obumble approach: "I just saw it on TV or read about it in the newspaper." Just a way to shuck off complicity in some SNAFU or something that went bad or blew back.
[IsraelTimes] Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",-run health ministry says 2 maimed in strike, the first in the Strip since massive Israeli bombardment on Friday after killing of soldier
An Israeli aircraft fired at a group of Paleostinians launching incendiary balloons into southern Israel from the northern Gazoo Strip, the army said, breaking two days of relative calm along the border.
The Hamas-run Gazook health ministry said two people were maimed in the strike. It listed the injuries as light to moderate.
An incendiary balloon was discovered earlier in the day in the Eshkol region, though it did not start a fire.
As of 8:45 p.m., there had been no fires in southern Israel sparked by airborne arson devices from Gazoo, according to a spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Services southern division.
Earlier Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Israel would react harshly to any violence coming from Gazoo.
"We hit Hamas very hard over the weekend and ‐ if it proves necessary ‐ we will hit them seven-fold," Netanyahu said, according to a statement from his office
The Arclight airstrike was the first in Gazoo since Israel hit dozens of Hamas targets on Friday, though tanks struck a pair of observation posts Saturday in response to an attempt to breach the border and an incendiary balloon launch.
The Israeli bombardment came after a Paleostinian sniper rubbed out an IDF soldier, Staff Sgt. Aviv Levi, 20, along the security fence surrounding the coastal enclave ‐ the first Israeli killed in an attack from Gazoo since the 2014 war.
Four Paleostinians were killed ‐ three of whom were acknowledged as Hamas fighters.
Israel said it has no interest in engaging in another war with Hamas, but said it will no longer tolerate the group’s campaign of flying incendiary devices into Israel.
Earlier Sunday, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman announced that Israel was prepared to remove the punitive economic measures it put in place earlier this month in response to these "fire kites and balloons," if the Gazoo-ruling Hamas terror group stopped the airborne arson attacks.
"Yesterday was one of the calmest days, perhaps, since March 30," Liberman said. "If that situation continues today and tomorrow as it was yesterday, then, on Tuesday, we will revive the regular procedures and also expand the fishing zone to what it was before."
The defense minister made his comments at the Kerem Shalom Crossing, the only Israeli crossing for commercial goods into and out of the Gazoo Strip, which has been closed to everything but shipments of food, medicine and occasionally fuel since July 9.
Liberman stressed that calm also meant an end to months of kites and balloons carrying Molotov cocktails over the border fence from the Paleostinian enclave to burn Israeli farming land.

Gotta love the impartial press -- the Israelis broke the calm, after defending themselves from an incendiary attack and a sniper shooting a soldier. The Gazoos never, ever start the violence, do they?

Of course not, Rob. They act as they must as members of the Ummah in Dar al Harb, the house of war, where by definition all they do is defensive against the actions of the unsurrendered.
[PRESSTV] The Mighty Pak Army has called for the Supreme Court to launch an investigation into claims made by a high court judge pertaining to the country's spy agency interfering in judiciary affairs.
On Sunday, the Pak military released a statement calling for the initiation of appropriate process to ascertain the authenticity of the allegations leveled by Justice Islamabad High Court judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui at the Inter-Services Intelligence ...the Pak military intelligence agency that controls the military -- heads of ISI typically get promoted into the Chief of Army Staff position. It serves as a general command center for favored turban groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, tries to influence the politix of neighboring countries, and carries out a (usually) low-level war against India in Kashmir... (ISI).
"In order to safeguard the sanctity and credibility of the state institutions, Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistain has been requested to initiate appropriate process to ascertain the veracity of the allegations and take actions accordingly," added the ISI's public relations.
Chief Justice Saqib Nisar responded to Siddiqui's remarks by calling on the Pakistain Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to present the complete record of his remarks.
On Saturday, Siddiqui said that the ISI had manipulated judicial proceedings in several cases, such as the ouster of premier Nawaz Sharif ... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf, then by the courts... He also claimed that the ISI had asked him to provide assurance that Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law would remain in jail until July 25 which coincides with the country's elections
Sharif and his daughter Maryam were nabbed Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'! upon arrival in Pakistain on July 13.
Siddiqui also claimed that the ISI had offered him the position of chief justice of the Islamabad High Court.
On Wednesday, Siddiqui chided the ISI and police over alleged forced abductions, accusing the security apparatus of breaking the law.
