Gowdy: If POTUS Collusion Evidence Existed, Adam Schiff Would Have Leaked it
[Daily Caller] South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy said Sunday that, after 18 months of congressional investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government, he has yet to see a "scintilla" of evidence showing that there was coordination between the two sides.

The Republican also said it is unlikely that any Democrat has seen evidence of collusion because if they had, California Rep. Adam Schiff would have already leaked it.

"I have not seen one scintilla of evidence that this president colluded, conspired, confederated with Russia, and neither has anyone else, or you may rest assured Adam Schiff would have leaked it," Gowdy said during an interview on "Fox News Sunday."

"That’s why they’ve moved off of collusion onto obstruction of justice, which is now their current preoccupation," he added.

Gowdy, who is a member of the House Intelligence Committee and chairman of the Committee on House Oversight & Government Reform, said he has likely seen more government documents related to the collusion investigation than anyone in Congress.

The Trump/Putin Summit Is the Worst Thing Ever...Until the Next Worst Thing Ever
[Townhall] Here’s a secret everyone knows: this Trump/Russia/Treason thing is nonsense. The Russians will do whatever they can to destabilize our country, and have been trying since long before Teddy Kennedy actually did collude with the Reds against Ronald Reagan. Of course they want to destabilize us. They’re Russians. But now we are getting a ration of insanity about it from a bunch of people who only discovered that Ivan is bad news about the same time Stumbles McMyTurn lost. When they are yelling that Donald Trump’s press conference was (Pearl Harbor + 9/11) x 1,000,000, forget about raising any legit grievances with Trump’s performance. We’re not playing their game.

Gunmen kill 11 when they open fire on minibus full of cab drivers in Johannesburg 'taxi war'
[DailyMail] Eleven people have been killed and four others critically wounded after gunmen fired on a minibus taking taxi drivers to Johannesburg, South African police have said.

Police spokesman Jay Naicker said the victims of the Saturday night attack had attended the funeral of a colleague and were returning home when the ambush occurred.

'There was a shooting at about 8pm (6pm GMT) last night. The vehicle was ambushed. There were 11 fatalities and four were seriously injured and are in hospital.

'We understand they were from the Gauteng taxi association.

'There has been a lot of taxi violence in the area but we are still investigating who the perpetrators were.'

Why So Hysterical?
[Anti-IdiotarianRottweiler] In which His Imperial Majesty allows himself the luxury of engaging in wild speculation, so no need to point it out. We know.

You surely know the old saying: "If you’re catching flak, you’re over the target".

So one thing that we’ve been scratching our head about for the past couple of days in the precious few moments that we have time for such things is "why the hitherto unprecedented amounts of flak and hysteria over the Helsinki meeting and press conference?"

We don’t know and, unlike all of the self-appointed geniuses of the world, we’re not afraid to admit that we don’t know, but that never stopped our hyperactive mind from wandering whither it wants to go in the past.

And it’s not just the quite honestly pathetic hysteria post-meeting. One thing that caught our attention was the silly ham sandwich indictments of last Friday. "Russian spies spy, news at 11, clear the headline!"

...What about the mass hysteria after President Trump refused to take the bait and nullify anything that might have been achieved during the talks by calling President Putin a big, filthy, lying liar that lies in front of the world?

Sure, part of it was just the usual freak show whenever the President says or does anything. He could come out with a cure for cancer tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow the Lugenpresse would be in a frothing meltdown over the career prospects of oncologists everywhere.

But we think that most people would agree that it was a bit more hysterical than usual, hard though as that would have been to imagine a mere week ago.

Why? What are they worried about? They acted as if he’d just handed over the nuclear codes to President Putin and agreed to an unconditional surrender of the United States when, in matter of fact, the only thing he did was to, for once, act like a diplomat and not publicly insult his negotiating partner.

That’s what got us thinking and, more likely than not, send our mind off on a walkabout. Pure speculation, that is.

Just what, exactly, might the two of them have talked about?

To be sure, the allegations of Russian spying are undoubtedly true. Everybody spies on everybody, it’s what nations do, it’s just that some nations are better at it than others. It doesn’t excuse the spying and it most definitely doesn’t mean that it’s NOT a top priority for us to counter all that spying in any way we can, but it is hardly news. But that also means that the Russians undoubtedly know a great number of things going on in this country that certain parties in this country would rather not that anybody find out about.

Some cucks and Prozis (but we repeat ourself) asked "what does Putin have on Trump?"

The more relevant question might be: "What does Putin have on the Prozis and their pals, and did he share it with Trump?"

Then everything starts making more sense.

But that’s all speculation. We may never know, or maybe we will one day but we’ll never know where it came from, or maybe it’s all just much ado about nothing. That’s entirely possible.

But it does make you think, doesn’t it?

Column One: Who is betraying America?
[Jpost] Did US President Donald Trump commit treason in Helsinki when he met Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin? Should he be impeached?

That is what his opponents claim.

...Trump is being condemned for adopting a conciliatory tone towards Putin while employing a combative tone towards the Europeans and particularly Germany at the NATO summit. This criticism ignores how Trump operates in the international arena.

Trump views his exchanges with foreign leaders as separate engagements. He has goals he wishes to advance with China; with North Korea; with Russia; with Canada; with Mexico; with Europe; with Britain; with US Arab allies. In each separate engagement, Trump employs a combination of carrots and sticks. In each engagement he adopts a distinct manner that he believes advances his goals.

So far, unlike Obama’s foreign policy by this point in his presidency, none of Trump’s exchanges have brought disaster on America or its allies. To the contrary, America and its allies have much greater strategic maneuver room across a wide spectrum of threats and join adversaries than they had when Obama left office.

Trump’s opponents’ obsession with bringing him down has caused great harm to his presidency and to America’s position worldwide. It is a testament to Trump’s commitment to the US and its allies that he met with Putin this week. And the success of their meeting is something that all who care about global security and preventing a devastating war in the Middle East should be grateful for.

Britain
Ecuador to Hand Over Julian Assange to British Authorities
[PJ] Since 2012, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been holed up in the Ecuadoran embassy in London trying to evade a warrant for his arrest from the Swedish government on sexual assault charges. The Ecuadorans granted him asylum because he said he feared being handed over to the American government for exposing millions of classified documents.

Apparently, Assange has overstayed his welcome. According to The Intercept, the new Ecuadoran president, Lenin Moreno, is prepared to transfer custody of Assange to the British.
A source close to the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry and the President’s office, unauthorized to speak publicly, has confirmed to the Intercept that Moreno is close to finalizing, if he has not already finalized, an agreement to hand over Assange to the UK within the next several weeks. The withdrawal of asylum and physical ejection of Assange could come as early as this week. On Friday, RT reported that Ecuador was preparing to enter into such an agreement.
The consequences of such an agreement depend in part on the concessions Ecuador extracts in exchange for withdrawing Assange’s asylum. But as former Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa told the Intercept in an interview in May, Moreno’s government has returned Ecuador to a highly "subservient" and "submissive" posture toward western governments.

It is thus highly unlikely that Moreno ‐ who has shown himself willing to submit to threats and coercion from the UK, Spain and the U.S. ‐ will obtain a guarantee that the U.K. not extradite Assange to the U.S., where top Trump officials have vowed to prosecute Assange and destroy WikiLeaks.

The central oddity of Assange’s case ‐ that he has been effectively imprisoned for eight years despite never having been charged with, let alone convicted of, any crime ‐ is virtually certain to be prolonged once Ecuador hands him over to the U.K. Even under the best-case scenario, it appears highly likely that Assange will continue to be imprisoned by British authorities.
Swedish prosecutors dropped the sexual assault charges against Assange last year and he faces only a "failure to surrender" charge in Sweden. But the Trump administration would love to get their hands on Assange and make an example of him.

How Finding Love In D.C. May Be Impossible For Young Trump And GOP Staffers
[Hot Air] One 29-year-old lobbyist told Fox News that learning to date in a Trump world is "absolutely insane."

"It’s getting so bad," the lobbyist, who asked to remain anonymous because she works with the administration, said.

She, like several people Fox News spoke to, says they’re often raked over hot coals by prospective dates online or simply denied when someone finds out they work ‐ or even voted ‐ for President Trump.

Another person who works for the Trump administration said she has endured insults for simply posing with the American flag.

New Mexico man who fed wildlife at his home bitten by bear
ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (AP) ‐ Officials say a 70-year-old southern New Mexico man who regularly fed wildlife at his home suffered multiple injuries when he was bitten by a bear as he stepped outside.

The state Game and Fish Department says conservation officers went to the man’s Cloudcroft home Friday after his wife drove him to an Alamogordo hospital for treatment of injuries that included arm puncture wounds and leg scratches.

According to the department, the man acknowledged feeding cracked corn to wildlife and that multiple bears routinely entered the residence.

Officers found pet food bowls near the house, bear prints on windows and scratch marks on the porch.

Department Director Alexandra Sandoval says it’s good that the man will recover quickly from his injuries but feeding wildlife "is never an acceptable practice."

Carter Page Surveillance Documents Indicate State Department Provided Initial Info After Interacting with Hoax Dossier Author
[Breitbart] NEW YORK ‐ Documents released on Saturday related to the wiretapping of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page reveal information that contributed to the government’s application to monitor Page originated with the State Department under the Obama administration in October 2016.

That detail may be particularly relevant since numerous officials from John Kerry’s State Department have been fingered for playing roles in the distribution ‐ and in one case, possibly also the compilation ‐ of the largely discredited, 35-page anti-Trump dossier which focused in significant part on Page.

Much of the interaction between the State Department and the dossier author took place just prior to the October 2016 date mentioned in the newly released Page documents. Dossier author Christopher Steele, a former British spy, was commissioned to produce the questionable document by the controversial Fusion GPS opposition research firm, which was paid for its anti-Trump work by Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

State Department official Jonathan Winer admitted to exchanging documents and information with Steele, and passed the dossier contents to other officials at the State Department. Winer also admitted to receiving information from Clinton associate Sidney Blumenthal that originated with Cody Shearer, a shadowy former tabloid journalist who has long been closely associated with various Clinton scandals. Winer conceded that he passed Shearer’s anti-Trump material to Steele.

I would also make the point that by October 2016, a month or less to the 2016 election, seems rather late in the game to be asking for a FISA surveillance application of someone suspected of working with the Russians "to undermine & influence the outcome of the 2016 U.S election"

Yes, rather "late" indeed. US Person (USP) Carger Page could have been tipped off by fellow USN Academy grad and intelligence officer, NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers. Around the same time, Admiral Rogers pays a visit (without Obama knowledge) to Trump Towers. Next day Trump moves entire election operation out of Trump Towers.

#3  Sep 2016 - Trump Campaign Adviser Steps Down While Disputing Claims Of Russia Ties

Carter Page 25 Sep 2016 letter to Comey.

Excerpt: Having interacted with members of the U.S. intelligence community including the FBI and CIA for many decades, I appreciate the limitations on your staff’s time and assets. Although I have not been contacted by any member of your team in recent months, I would eagerly await their call to discuss any final questions they might possibly have in the interest of helping them put these outrageous allegations to rest while allowing each of us to shift our attention to relevant matters. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Looks like Page knew he was being set up, monitored, betrayed by his former pals in the Intelligence Community.

Anything ever come of the alleged Carter Page-Russian connection? Of course not.

Perhaps Page "interacted" (was recruited or became a 'walk-in') gov't source within the Trump campaign, but due to his previous international connections and DoJ/FBI/media treachery, (Clinton campaign goes south) he became a convenient target. When he finally became witting of the deception, he left the Trump campaign.

[FOX] A federal judge ruled against stripping away the U.S. citizenship of a convicted terrorist tied to a plot to destroy the Brooklyn Bridge, citing a lack of evidence to prove that the status had been granted based on misrepresentations.

Iyman Faris, 49, was sentenced in 2003 for aiding and abetting al-Qaida by scoping out the iconic New York bridge as a part of a plot to cut through the cables supporting the structure. He had met with Osam bin Laden in Afghanistan and worked with 9/11 architect Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

Faris is set to be released on Dec. 23, 2020, but a court filing last year in a U.S. District Court argued that Faris lied on immigration papers and that his terrorist affiliations demonstrated a lack of commitment to the Constitution.

Originally born in Pakistan, Faris became a citizen in 1999. He worked as a truck driver in Ohio and was married to an American woman.

Federal Judge Staci Yanle ruled this month in favor of Faris, saying that there was not enough evidence to prove that any misrepresentations influenced the decision to grant him citizenship.

"American citizenship is precious, and the government carries a heavy burden of proof when attempting to divest a naturalized citizen of his or her citizenship," she wrote on July 11.
Staci Yandle is openly gay. She is the first openly gay judge in the 7th Circuit, which covers Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.[5] She also is the first African-American District Judge ever to sit on the federal bench in the Southern District of Illinois.

So this is a Trump administration effort, both previous presidents having had no problem with such a man having acquired citizenship under false pretenses. I’m sure this is another one that will be appealed all the way to the increasingly conservative Supreme Court. Given that PFLP member Rasmea Odeh was stripped of the American citizenship she obtained under false pretences before she was deported last year for lying about terror convictions in Israel when she entered America and on her citizenship application, there is a direct precedent for doing the same to this gentleman.

I really do want the drooling, fascist-loving, socialist ass monkeys in New York’s 14th district to choose this derpy, ignorant, screeching harpy to represent them in Congress. Yes, you read that correctly. I am THRILLED that she won the Democratic primary in that district!

...If she loses to a Republican in that district, any Republican that gets elected there will be a left-socialist bunghole with a perfunctory "R" behind his or her name. You can’t win in that district without being at least a borderline proglodyte.

...Run, Alexandria, run! I prefer we have an unhinged, ignorant proglodyte in Congress than a lying "Republican," who would betray conservative ideals at the drop of a hat.

Israel evacuates hundreds of Syrian 'White Helmets' in humanitarian effort
[Jpost] Around 800 Syrians affiliated with the White Helmets and their families are being evacuated from Quneitra through Israel according to the IDF Spokeperson's Unit. The Syrian Civil Defense is a volunteer organization that has worked in rebel areas of Syria providing medical support during the Syrian conflict.

According to a Bild report published Saturday night by Paul Ronzheimer, Giorgos Moutafis and Julian Ropcke around 800 Syrians were transported across the Syrian-Israel border. "From there on to Jordan," the article says. "They are members and families of the famous White Helmets." Bild says that those evacuated will continue on to the UK, Canada and Germany.

Rebels Reach North Syria after South Evacuations
[AnNahar] Hundreds of rebels and their families evacuated from southern Syria after a deal was struck with the regime arrived Saturday in the country's northwest, an AFP correspondent said.

The evacuations from Quneitra province, which borders the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights, came after a Russia-brokered agreement was reached earlier this week to see rebels hand over the territory to the Syrian regime.

Around 50 buses transporting fighters and their families reached the Morek transit route in the north of Hama province, which links regime and rebel-held territories, an AFP correspondent at the scene said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said the first convoy to reach Morek transported around 2,800 people.

They were to be transferred to other buses run by local NGOs, before travelling further north to temporary camps in rebel-held areas in Idlib and Aleppo provinces, the Britannia-based monitor said.

"More than half of the evacuees are women and kiddies," said Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman.

"A second wave of departures is expected from Quneitra," he added.

Near the parked buses in Morek, a woman and five children waited by a cluster of small suitcases, the eldest among them carrying bottles of water and a blanket.

Men with light weapons slung on their backs shared a bite to eat and some water as they stood around waiting. Several wearing scarves wrapped around their faces.

The evacuations follow a deadly regime offensive on Quneitra, a thin, crescent-shaped province that lies along the buffer zone with the Israel-occupied Golan to the west.

The rebel surrender negotiated by Russia, a vital regime ally, also saw fighters hand over heavy and medium weapons and return government institutions to the area.

Syrian forces launched their southern offensive on June 19, targeting the province of Daraa before turning their attention to neighbouring Quneitra.

On Friday 11 children were among 26 civilians killed in air strikes which hit several towns in the area, the Observatory said.

Regime bombardment on the IS-held area continued on Saturday, with festivities between both sides killing 13 regime fighters including eight in a boom-mobileing, it said.

Europe
Germany drops sanctions on Turkey, relaxes travel advice
[AlAhram] Germany has lifted economic sanctions on The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
and relaxed its travel advice to the country, Berlin said Saturday, after Ankara ended its two-year state of emergency.

A 1.5 billion-euro ($1.7 billion) limit on export guarantees to Turkey would not be renewed this year, Germany's economy ministry told AFP, confirming an earlier report by the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

The measure was imposed in July 2017 as a way to pressure Ankara after the detention of a German human right campaigner and five other activists, including the head of Amnesia Amnesty International in Turkey.

Opposition parties in Germany have accused the 1.5 billion-euro limit of being too timid, given that the value of export guarantees increased from 1.1 billion euros in 2016 to 1.46 billion euros the following year.

Germany's foreign ministry also removed a warning on its website about its nationals facing a high risk of arrest when visiting Turkey.

Turkey's state of emergency, which was imposed after a failed 2016 coup and saw the biggest purge of officials in the country's modern history, came to an end on Thursday.

However the country's opposition has accused the government of moving to permanently formalise some of the measure's harshest aspects.

On Friday, Turkey and the Netherlands ended months of enmity and agreed to restore diplomatic ties after two Ottoman Turkish ministers were barred from a Rotterdam rally.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
The 'nuts and bolts' of Iran's economic troubles
A taste.
[Ynet] Recent protests in the Islamic Republic are reminiscent of the economic unrest that led to the Iranian Revolution and the rise of the ayatollahs; with the Iranian public critical of moderates and hardliners alike, the leadership in Tehran is worried.

As Iran decides the pathway forward after US President Donald Trump pulled out of the 2015 nuclear deal in May, economic pressures are beginning to weigh on the Islamic Republic.

In the last few weeks, Iran's currency has been tanking rapidly against the dollar. Reports said it sank between 79,000 and 90,000 rials to the US dollar on the country's unofficial market, according to the foreign exchange website Bonbast. At the end of last year, it stood at 42,890 to the dollar.

Furthermore, there has been a flare up of protests over economic concerns throughout the country. Vendors in Tehran's central market staged a series of protests last week. They were upset about the rial's collapse, which is causing havoc for businesses as the price of imports rises.

In the last few days, protests erupted around the southern city of Khorramshahr over a shortage of clean water. The problem has been exacerbated in the summer when temperatures in the southern region can reach up to 43 degrees Celsius (110 Fahrenheit). The protests were initially peaceful but became violent when police and protesters clashed.

Last month, protesters in Tehran shouted surprising slogans as they decried the country's economic malaise. Videos posted to social media showed them chanting: "Death to Palestine," "No to Gaza, no to Lebanon," and "Leave Syria and think of us." Others chanted "We don't want the ayatollahs."

The unrest seems to have rattled the leadership. President Hassan Rouhani called on the nation to "remain calm" and united in the face of the economic pressure. The country's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also addressed the Iranian public, urging the government "to confront those who disrupt economic security."

The ex-IDF soldier from California who sneaked into Syria to fight IS
[IsraelTimes] Jonathan Leibovits says training from his days in Givati Brigade helped prepare him for battle to capture key city of Manbij from jihadists

An American Jew who served in the Israel Defense Forces described fighting in Syria against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group as "the craziest time of my life" in an interview aired Saturday on Israeli television.

Jonathan Leibovits, who was born in Israel but grew up in Los Angeles, said he decided to volunteer to fight against the jihadist group following the the 2015 terror attack in San Bernardino that left 14 dead.

"There was an attack in San Bernadino, which is only about half an hour away from where my family lives," Leibovits told Channel 10 news. "So it is kind of personal level me, you know, they’re coming to my home."

"I am very capable. I know what I’m doing, so I’m going to their home," he added.

In 2016, Leibovitz traveled to Iraq, where he hid for several days in a safe house before being smuggled across the border into Syria.

During the six months he fought alongside the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), Leibovits said he did not attempt to hide his American or Jewish identity.

"They do have a hit out on every foreign fighter that joins the YPG. I think it starts out at 100,000 or something like that and then goes up to 200,000, 500,000," he said. "I would bring out a little Hebrew here and there and they’d be like ’Israel?’... and I would be like ’uh-huh.’"

"To be honest I wasn’t in Syria to spread Israeli politics. I wasn’t there to spread an American agenda. I wasn’t there for those reasons. I was there purely because it was the right thing to do ‐ to help as much I can all the innocent children, women and elderly that are being killed on a daily basis," Leibovits added.

"They [YPG] asked me what my previous training was and I told them I served in the IDF, so they said OK."

Leibovits said the most harrowing experience in Syria was recusing two Yadizi girls he and another volunteer fighter discovered in a cage inside the home of a jihadst.

"We go in... and there is a cage where you would could keep a Siberian husky or something... and there are a couple of girls in there under the age of 12," he said. "I think that is the only time over there that I cried except for when I lost friends. That a human being would do that to someone ‐ it broke my heart."

Leibovits said the girls were so traumatized they initially didn’t want to leave the cage.

"They didn’t know who we were. I’m a white guy and there’s a French guy next to me... That instance really showed me how bad some people in this world really have it."

’Craziest days of my life’
Leibovits, who moved to Israel in 2012 to join the IDF, told Channel 10 the training he received while serving in the Givati Brigade was invaluable in the YPG’s battles to re-take the Syrian city of Manbij from IS fighters.

"It is all urban fighting, you know, building to building, so [the training] definitely helped a lot."

"It was just a meat grinder," he said of the fighting for the key northern city. "It was the craziest 76 days of my life."

Leibovits was injured in the fighting for Manbij, and said he still has pieces of shrapnel in his head, shoulder and chest.

But wasn’t until his friend was killed that Leibovits decided it was time to return home to Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,.

"It was time for us to go home," he said. "We all needed a little rest mentally, and physically just couldn’t move."

"It was the craziest time of my life... it really changed me," he added.

Leibovits said the first six months back at home were "really rough," and though his time in Syria still haunts him, he does not regret volunteering to fight against jihadists.

"If I could go back and do it again I would it all over again in a heartbeat," he said. I know that what I did there and the people I helped, you know that is something for a lifetime."

Fifth Column
Suspect with "extreme hatred for police, fire and government" and "manifesto" arrested with bomb-making materials and antifa materials
[ArgusLeader] Authorities discovered a "concerning" amount of bomb-making equipment and illegal guns after a man was arrested on burglary charges in Sioux Falls on Tuesday night.

The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Department served a search warrant Tuesday afternoon on 1112. S. Blaine Avenue in eastern Sioux Falls to arrest Mark Christopher Einerwold, 43, on burglary charges related to recent thefts in Dell Rapids and Tea, Minnehaha County Sheriff Capt. Jason Gearman said.

While searching the residence and Einerwold's vehicle, bomb-making materials and illegal firearms were found, Gearman said.

Authorities found other evidence that Einerwold has an "extreme hatred for police, fire and government," Gearman said. "It's safe to say we stopped something from happening. We don't know what that is."

In court, the prosecutors said that when police searched Einerwold's home, a pistol, sawed-off shotgun and a silencer were found in a backpack believed to be the same one used in several local burglaries. They also said authorities found a "manifesto" or document that included threats toward law enforcement and the government.

The sheriff's department had earlier said Einerwold was connected to Antifa, specifically citing a jacket that was found in his apartment. They declined to provide additional evidence.

People near Einerwold's residence weren't allowed to return to their homes until late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning as crews took care of the material that was found, Gearman said. An improvised explosive device was found inside Einerwold's vehicle and was neutralized on scene.

Gearman said ammonium nitrate and aluminum powder were found in Einerwold's residence.

"The amount of explosives found was significant and concerning," Minnehaha County Sheriff Mike Milstead said.

The sheriff's department is asking anyone who knew Einerwold or may have known what his motives were to come forward and contact authorities.

"We may have prevented a big tragedy, and we don't know what that could have been," Milstead said.

Terror Networks

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Trending on the radical literature these days is a long book, written by one of the symbols of Sururism in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and the region and entitled ’Moslems and the Western Civilization.’ When contemplating on its long and detailed content, one notices it did not move an inch from the Sururist rhetoric which peaked in the 1980s and 1990s.

This rhetoric has exploited preaching platforms to formulate a discourse that blends religious propagation with insinuations of political opposition. The issues tackled had similar headlines pertaining to "Christianization, the collapse of nation-states, the infidelity of governments, the dependence on the West, hostility towards the United States, the Paleostinian cause, etc." All of these matters were being raised and addressed in an Death Eater and radical way in complete disregard of the truth and the prevailing circumstances. The Qutbist approach has played an important role in sustaining such discourse and has added literary and emotional elements to enrage young minds and mobilize them to carry out any activity, including militancy.

Manbij Military Council allegedly shuns Turkey for Syrian gov’t
[ALMASDARNEWS] City authorities and the military council of Syria’s Manbij would like to transfer it under the control of the Syrian government army after Kurdish Lion of Islams’ withdrawal, Al Watan newspaper reported Saturday citing its sources.

"The military council and the majority of residents consider The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
an occupying country that wants to oust the Kurds from their territory, as it was done in Afrin, so they want the return of the Syrian authorities in the city," the source said.

The talks between the council and representatives of the Syrian state are underway, and Moscow is aware about them, the source added.

"[Russia] will enter into negotiations with Turkey to satisfy the wishes of the inhabitants of Manbij, who are rejecting the Ottoman Turkish presence," the source stressed.

Earlier in July, Ottoman Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu confirmed that he would see no problem in the implementation of US-Ottoman Turkish joint roadmap on the town. Under the plan, YPG is set to leave the town. Turkey, which believes the group to be linked to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), listed as a terrorist organization by Ankara, has been concerned with potential threats to its national security from the group stationed in Syria close to Ottoman Turkish borders.

However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
the Syrian authorities are against the presence of US or Ottoman Turkish forces in Syria. The Syrian Foreign Ministry has denounced their actions as breaching the UN resolution.

Another Raqqa resident expressed her wish for the government to re-establish itself in the region, and to provide civil services again.

"I wish that reconciliation would take place, and the country would be better than before; the water and electricity [would return]. When the government is back, reconciliation will happen and this country would be back as it was," she stated.

Khamenei backs threat to stop Gulf exports if oil sales halted
[Al Jazeera] Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has supported a suggestion by President Hassan Rouhani who hinted earlier this month that Tehran may block regional oil exports if its own sales are stopped following the US' withdrawal from a 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.

Rouhani's apparent warning on July 3 that Iran may disrupt oil shipments from neighbouring countries came in reaction to looming US sanctions and efforts by the administration of President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
to force all countries to halt purchases of Iranian oil.

Even though Rouhani did not mention the Strait of Hormuz, his comments were nonetheless seen as a threat to the narrow strategic passageway located between Iran and Oman, through which at least 18.5m barrels of oil moved every day in 2016, according to a US energy department report.

#4  Iran has made this threat numerous times in the past.

The Gulf of Hormuz is pretty narrow (30mi at its most constricted) and it would be possible for Iran to temporarily shut it down by flooding the Gulf with small rocket capable attack ships. However, these ships would be wiped out within days, maybe hours of an attack. Furthermore, Iran has valuable assets on the shore of the Gulf that would be easy targets, so easy that the Saudi AF could hit them assuming a bit of air cover from the US.

Official: International community should put an end to Egypt’s attempts to seize Libyan land
[Libya Observer] The member of the Presidential Council (PC) Mohammed al-Emmari said Friday that the international community should stop the "messing of Egyptians" with the Libyan soil.

Al-Emmari said on his Facebook that he refuses the Egyptian attempts to seize Libyan land, considering it a flagrant assault on the illusory sovereignty of Libya via filing a lawsuit at the Egyptian courts claiming that Jaghbub oasis belongs to Egypt.

"Some Libyan nationals are involved with the Egyptians in claiming that the Libyan land in Jaghbub oasis belongs to Egypt, as the latter is using media propaganda and politically-oriented courts for its aim." He added.

"Libyan media should deal with this serious threat with running cautionary coverage to scandalize those loyal to Egyptian authorities and win people’s support against this attempt to steal Libyan land." al-Emmari remarked.

High Council of State member Mousa Faraj told news hounds that they are verifying the truth behind the news published by Egyptian newspapers about a lawsuit in Egyptian courts demanding Jaghbub be seized by Egypt, whose media said administrative judiciary adjourned court session to announce a verdict for Jaghbub’s case (whether a land in Libya or in Egypt).

Egyptian media has been talking about expanding Egypt to include some Libyan land, claiming they are part of Egypt amid the current political division in the country, saying eastern region’s residents prefer being part of Egypt to staying in a united Libyan state.

Iraq
Iraq protests death toll reaches 11 amid ongoing popular unrest
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Local media outlets in Iraq reported that corpse count has now reached to more than 11 people since the outbreak of demonstrations in Basra and other southern cities with the last two casualties falling after demonstrations in the provinces of Najaf and Diwaniyah.

Hundreds of Iraqis in Baghdad and the central and southern provinces of Iraq have staged protests against poor basic services more than 15 years after Saddam Hussein's regime was replaced and pro-Iranian Shiite parties took power in Iraq.

Al Arabiya News Channel’s correspondent in Iraq reported that protests returned to central Baghdad with protesters gathering near the Liberation Square off the al-Jumariyah Bridge on Saturday.

Some protesters tried to break into party offices in the predominantly Shiite southern cities, but the guards of the headquarters opened fire with live ammunition, killing several of the demonstrators.

Terrorist attack leaves 10 Iranian forces dead: Fars
[PRESSTV] A terrorist attack on a military checkpoint on the western border with Iraq and subsequent blast at an arms depot has left 10 members of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) dead, Fars News Agency reported Saturday.

The overnight attack in the village of Dari in the Marivan district led to festivities which entailed in an kaboom at an arms depot, following which 10 IRGC members were "martyred," it quoted a statement by Hamza Sayyid al-Shohada Headquarters as saying.

"In the festivities, a number of bad boyz were potted and several others fled with injuries," the statement said.

"Terrorist and counter-revolutionary groups and their supporters who lack any base among the Iranian nation, especially the wise and revolutionary people of Kordestan, should anticipate the harsh and deadly retaliation of the brave and devoted warriors of Islam for this crime," it added.

Over the past years, Iranian security forces and border guards have engaged in festivities with terror groups, many of whom cross the country's borders with Pakistain and Iraq to carry out attacks inside Iran.

Egypt: Sarcophagus Remains Not Those of Alexander the Great
[All Africa] Hopes of finding the remains of Ancient Greek ruler Alexander the Great were lost on Thursday, when archaeologists opened a sarcophagus in Alexandria, Egypt. The coffin had been the largest ever found in the Mediterranean city, which had prompted theories and speculation about whether it might be his final resting place.

The 2,000-year-old black granite sealed sarcophagus had been found this month by workers on an apartment building construction site. The large coffin weighed 30 metric tons.

Alexander the Great died in 323 BC in Babylon and his remains have never been found.

Egypt's Ministry of Antiquities had previously dismissed the notion that Alexander's remains inside the sarcophagus.

Mostafa Waziri, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, attended the coffin opening. "We found the bones of three people, in what looks like a family burial... Unfortunately, the mummies inside were not in the best condition and only the bones remain," he said.

Waziri added that some of the remains had disintegrated, due to sewage water from a nearby building that had leaked in through a small crack in one of the sides of the tomb.

The opening of the long-sealed sarcophagus left many in Egypt fearful of the possibility that the act could unleash a 1,000-year curse. But Waziri was undeterred. "We've opened it and, thank God, the world has not fallen into darkness," the Antiquities minister said.

"I was the first to put my whole head inside the sarcophagus... and here I stand before you ... I am fine," he added.

Zimbabwe: Lawyer Vows Appeal As Ex-Minister Undenge Sent to Chikurubi
[All Africa] Former cabinet minister Samuel Undenge was sent to Chikurubi maximum security prison on Friday as his lawyer vowed to appeal at High Court his conviction for fraud.

Defence attorney Alec Muchadehama gave the notice of appeal after Undenge was sentenced to four years in jail by Harare magistrate Hosea Mujaya following conviction for criminal abuse of office.

Muchadehama said considering the circumstances, the only option was to approach the High Court to challenge Mujaya's decision as his client was innocent.

"Real criminals are roaming free in the streets," he said.

"It's on record that the Vice President's wife was given a contract also without going to tender and an official from the president's office confirmed that under oath before this court."

In response, the State led by prosecutor Jonathan Murombedzi and Oscar Madhume said Undenge should only concentrate on his fate and not worry about other people.

"The accused should not worry himself with issues of other corrupt people. Justice will soon catch up with them.

"He (Undenge) should appreciate that he broke the law and the trust with the people of the country.

The security situation in eastern Kunar province has started to deteriorate sharply during the recent months amid growing insurgency activities by the Taliban and ISIS Death Eaters.

The anti-government armed murderous Moslems continuously attempt to expand their foothold in this province amid ongoing military operations and Arclight airstrikes.

The US forces based in Afghanistan also conduct airstrike against the ISIS and murderous Moslems affiliated with the other groups in a bid to suppress the murderous Moslems from expanding foothold in this province.

Terror Networks
The Muslim Brotherhood controversy in the West
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] In some Western countries, especially in the US and Britannia, there is controversy over classifying the Moslem Brüderbund as a terrorist organization. This debate should be followed up on and there must be work to develop it and to provide important information about it to everyone who participates in decision-making in the US and Britannia.

The world should know that the war against terrorism will not end unless the Moslem Brüderbund is declared a terrorist organization. In fact, the Moslem Brüderbund is the main source of terrorism, the mother of all terror groups and organizations. It is the origin of all the branches of the modern terrorism that falsely associate themselves with Islam. If the Moslem Brüderbund is not classified as a terrorist organization, it will continue to produce more terrorism.

Home Front: WoT
Brooklyn Bridge plot: Judge rejects bid to strip terrorist of citizenship
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The government can’t strip a terrorist of his US citizenship, a federal judge ruled this month in a decision siding with a Pakistain-born man serving the last few years of a 20-year prison sentence for his guilty plea to plotting to destroy New York’s Brooklyn Bridge.

The case involves Iyman Faris, who was sentenced in 2003 for aiding and abetting al-Qaeda by scoping out the bridge as part of a plot to cut through cables that support it. His case was among the first and highest-profile terrorism cases after the September 11 attacks.

Faris met with the late Osama bin Laden
... who was laid out deader than a mackerel, right next to the mackerel...
in Afghanistan and worked with September 11 architect Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, although some critics questioned how realistic the plot was, given post-September 11 security in New York.

A court filing last year in US District Court in southern Illinois argued that Faris lied on immigration papers before becoming a naturalized US citizen in 1999 and that his terrorist affiliations demonstrated a lack of commitment to the US Constitution.
The government can appeal it all the way to the Supreme Court, so that's ok.
"The US government is dedicated to ... preventing the exploitation of our nation’s immigration system by those who would do harm to our country," Chad Readler, acting assistant attorney of the Department of Justice’s civil division, said in a statement at the time.

The government filed in Illinois because Faris was imprisoned there then. He has since been moved to federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Faris, who’s 49, was known as Mohammad Rauf before becoming a US citizen, worked as a truck driver in Columbus and was married to an American woman for a while. He is scheduled for release Dec. 23, 2020, according to the US Bureau of Prisons.

Federal Judge Staci Yanle said this month there’s not enough evidence to prove Faris’ misrepresentations influenced the decision to grant him citizenship.

"American citizenship is precious, and the government carries a heavy burden of proof when attempting to divest a naturalized citizen of his or her citizenship," she wrote on July 11. The Department of Justice declined to comment.

One of many objections raised by Faris’ attorney is that the government’s action violated the terms of his 2003 plea agreement, which never included the possibility of denaturalization or deportation.

"We look forward to defending this case," reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
defense attorney Thomas Durkin said. "It’s a wrongheaded decision by the government to proceed in this fashion."

[BBC] New York City is the second most rat-infested US city after Chicago, and one group of residents is taking matters into its own hands - or rather, into the paws of its four-legged friends.

Dogs owners belonging to a group called the Ryders Alley Trencher-fed Society (Rats) take to the streets at night with their pets - often terriers.

Rebellion of a rich country’s poor
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The war on terror has ended in Iraq and levers of power now rest in the hands of Shiite parties with varying degrees of links with Iran. Who is responsible for this failure? Who is the corrupt? Which party is depriving Iraqi people of their national wealth? The country of Tigris and Euphrates is thirsty!

The country with the third largest oil reserves in the world is staggering without electricity. The country claiming "victory over ISIS" is controlled by militias of the Popular Mobilization Forces which are no less sectarian than ISIS! The country of free elections is experiencing the biggest electoral fraud!

Today, the deteriorating situation has been worsened by a new element. The protests have revealed a bitter truth. The Najaf Airport which protesters stormed and closed is managed by the militias of five parties including the ruling Dawa party. In this sense, the news from Iraq is more surprising than news emanating from some of the "banana republics" in Central America.

India looks to balance US strategic ties with ‘cheap’ Iranian oil
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] India today finds itself in the center of a tug of war. If the United States, a strategic partner, is pushing it to drastically reduce its oil imports from Iran; then Iran, an old ally, is asserting its strategic value in terms of not just oil but also the Chabahar port.

This week saw first the visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister to India, quickly followed by the visit of a delegation from the United States. It is learnt that both visits had one common agenda and that was to discuss India’s import of oil from Iran.

President Trump pulled out of the Iran Nuclear deal in May this year and brought back the economic sanctions against the country, which has placed allies like India in a tricky situation.

The US has told India and other countries to cut oil imports from Iran to “zero” by November 4 or face sanctions. The first set of US sanctions will kick in from August 6. Iran is India’s third-largest oil supplier after Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

Four killed following massive Israeli airstrikes on Gaza
[ALMASDARNEWS] Four Paleostinians were killed as the Israeli military carried out Arclight airstrikes against the Gazoo Strip on Saturday. Three of the Paleostinians were killed in the airstrikes with a fourth shot by Israeli snipers during a protest at the Gazoo border.

According to the Israeli military, over 60 targets were struck, including 15 alleged Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", targets in the northern Gazoo Strip with an additional 25 in Khan Yunis.

According to the Israeli military, the airstrikes were carried out after an Israeli soldier was rubbed out by a Paleostinian sniper along the border. Following the airstrikes, Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum announced that a ceasefire had been agreed between Israel and Hamas.

The series of protests known as the ’March of Return’ were launched along the Gazoo-Israel border on March 30 to demand the right for people to return to their pre-1948 homes. Since March 30, the Israeli military has killed over 140 Paleostinians and maimed over 16,000.

The Comic Book Industry Doubles Down On Social Justice At This Year's Comic-Con
[DailyWire] This year’s San Diego Comic-Con kicked off on Thursday with a slate of movie trailer releases, new series announcements, artwork presentations, cosplay fans, and a big dose of social justice propaganda.

On the first day of the convention, fans were treated to the seminar "Entertainment is LGBTQ," where insiders offered their thoughts on inclusivity in the industry. Comicbook.com reported:

BOOM! Studios and GLAAD present an in-depth roundtable discussion about LGBTQ representation in pop culture and the path forward to a brighter, more inclusive future, with special guests from all corners of the entertainment world including Emily Andras (Executive Producer and Showrunner of Wynonna Earp), Lilah Sturges (Lumberjanes: The Infernal Compass), Marguerite Bennett (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Noah Hayes (Wet Hot American Summer) and more. Moderated by Megan Townsend (Director of Entertainment Research & Analysis, GLAAD).

Aside from the GLAAD sponsored panel, AMC’s anti-Christian and low-rated show "Preacher" gets spotlighted with "the Women of Marvel." It is worth noting that the "Men of Marvel" receive no such panel.

Just what fans want to see, according to the Left. Forget the much-anticipated trailer to the DC Universe series "Titans" or Marvel Comics presenting their newest titles, it’s all about intersectionality.

Israel: No stomach for war?
The view from Cairo, at length.
[AlAhram] According to Paleostinian analysts, Israel is exhausted by the March of Return and incendiary kites, but is not interested in all-out war.

There is calm and cautious anticipation in the Gazoo Strip since the Israeli cabinet authorised the occupation army to respond with military force to every paper plane or kite launched from Gazoo towards fields in Israel.

Paleostinian analysts agree it is unclear what the future holds, and everything is possible, especially after Israel refused a "truce" with Gazoo while incendiary kites fly overhead.

Bahrain detects ‘fake accounts run by Qatar to harm its interests’
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Bahrain’s interior ministry has revealed that it detected deliberate systematic attempts to target the kingdom in order to harm its public interests and to influence public opinion through several issues, including the naturalization issue, with the aim of harming the special Bahraini-Saudi relations.

In a statement released on Saturday, the ministry said that false information had been circulating through fake accounts run from Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
and by the wanted runaways facing justice.

"The Ministry of Interior clarifies that such accounts tend to instigate disturbances and sedition and incite hatred, in an attempt to tear into Bahrain’s social fabric and jeopardize the upcoming parliamentary elections by negatively focusing on a number of issues, including the new pension scheme, to negatively swing the public opinion and distort the Bahraini identity to project it as having negative characteristics," the statement read.

"In general, these threats constitute a purposeful assault against the citizens although they are immune to the risks such attempts pose and have proven through history their firm stand on national values thanks to their awareness and sincere determination to foil all attempts targeting security and social peace," the ministry added.

The interior ministry said it is calling upon the public "to be cautious and avoid recirculating false reports, as the current stage requires joint efforts, unity, an awareness to protect the nation’s supreme interests, and civil peace as the strengthening of national unity is the responsibility of all".

two gunnies in Kabul city on charges of planning attacks with the help of the magnetic bombs.

The Criminal Investigation Department said the two suspects were held from the vicinity of the 3rd police district of the city.

The source further added that the two individuals were arrested as they were planning to plant magnetic bombs in governmental vehicles.

The anti-government armed Death Eater groups including Talibs have not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as the anti-government armed gunnies have been attempting to increase their attacks in the key cities of the country, including Kabul during the recent months.

A senior army officer lost his life in an attack by unknown button men in Kabul city earlier on Wednesday morning, the defense officials confirmed.

The incident took place in the vicinity of the 5th police district of the city in Company area after unknown button men opened fire on the senior officer as he was travelling towards his work station.

Earlier on Sunday, the police chief of the police district number 5 of Kabul city was also maimed in a magnetic bomb kaboom.

in Saudi Arabia, announced in a post on its official Twitter page on Saturday that Dr. Musaed al-Tayyar were tossed into the calaboose.

The post added that the 53-year-old Tayyar is an associate professor at King Saud University in the Saudi capital Riyadh. He has written many books on Islamic teachings and participated in debates on the Holy Koran, the holy book of Moslems.

The academic is not known to have commented on political issues, which raises questions about the motives behind his arrest.

Saudi Arabia has recently stepped up politically-motivated arrests, prosecution, and conviction of peaceful dissident writers and human rights campaigners.

Saudi officials have also intensified security measures in the kingdom’s Shia-populated Eastern Province.

Eastern Province has been the scene of peaceful demonstrations since February 2011. Protesters have been demanding reforms, freedom of expression, the release of political prisoners, and an end to economic and religious discrimination against the oil-rich region.

Lavrov urges immediate release of Russian woman jailed in US on 'fabricated charges'

in the United States on accusations of acting as a government agent, saying she should be freed immediately.

In a phone call to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday, Lavrov said the arrest of Maria Butina, a gun enthusiast, on espionage charges was "unacceptable," Russia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) said in a blurb on Monday that Butina had been charged "with conspiracy to act as an agent of the Russian Federation within the United States without prior notification to the Attorney General," through establishing relationships and infiltrating organizations that had influence in US politics.

The DOJ alleged that Butina, 29, who studied at American University in Washington and is a founder of the pro-gun Russian advocacy group Right to Bear Arms, had acted with "the purpose of advancing the interests of the Russian Federation" at the direction of a "high-level" Russian official, who was not named in reports.

A US judge on Wednesday ordered Butina to be tossed in the clink

He said the negotiations between the First Vice President and the government representatives have concluded.

This comes as President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani

Egypt warned Hamas: Israel will go to war ‘in two hours' if you respond to raids
[IsraelTimes] TV report says Cairo, when fixing ceasefire late Friday, emphasized to terror group that Israeli strikes were the direct result of IDF soldier's killing by Gazoo sniper

The ceasefire largely held Saturday, though Israeli tanks twice carried out reprisal strikes at Hamas observation posts. Nonetheless, Saturday saw the fewest launches of arson kites and balloons in weeks.
An unofficial ceasefire reached overnight Friday-Saturday between Israel and Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, came after Egypt warned the Paleostinian terror group that Israel would launch a war "in two hours" if Hamas responded to IDF retaliatory strikes in Gazoo following the killing of an IDF soldier by Paleostinian sniper fire, Israeli television reported Saturday.

Channel 10 news also reported that Egypt threatened to impose sanctions on Hamas if it does not end the launch of incendiary airborne devices toward Israeli territory.

In return for honoring these conditions, Hamas demanded Israel ease restrictions on the flow of goods into Gazoo, the report said. Hamas also called for Egypt to keep open the Rafah border crossing and to press Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
to pay the salaries of PA employees in Gazoo.

Abbas has been withholding the salaries as part of the split between Abbas’s Fatah party and Hamas, which seized Gazoo from Fatah in 2007. A number of reconciliation agreements have failed to bridge the divide between the sides, including an Egyptian-mediated deal reached in October.

The ceasefire announced by Hamas, which Israel has not confirmed, came into effect around midnight Friday as the escalation in violence along the border raised fears of a wider military conflict.

The Israel Defense Forces said it struck more than 60 Hamas targets Friday in response to sniper fire from the Strip that killed IDF infantryman Aviv Levi, 21, from Petah Tikva. Staff Sgt. Levi was the first Israeli fatality in fighting along the border since the 2014 war.

According to Channel 10, Egypt noted to Hamas that the Israeli strikes were a response to Levi’s killing, and warned that any Hamas response to the strikes would prompt Israel to go to war in two hours.

The Hamas-run health ministry said four Paleostinians were killed in Friday’s violence, three of whom were acknowledged as members of the terror group.

While Israel holds Hamas responsible for all violence emanating from Gazoo, Hebrew media reported Saturday that defense officials believe the sniper attack that killed Levi was carried out at the initiative of local Hamas operatives and not approved by the terror group’s leadership.

Channel 10 reported that Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh
...became Prime Minister after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
was touring the border at the time of the attack, exposing him to a potential Israeli response.

The ceasefire largely held Saturday, though Israeli tanks twice carried out reprisal strikes at Hamas observation posts.

The army said the first strike was in response to an attempted infiltration of the border fence in northern Gazoo, while the second strike came after a flaming balloon launched from the Strip sparked a fire in nearby Kibbutz Nahal Oz.

A senior Israeli diplomatic official told Hebrew-language media that Hamas had vowed to halt airborne arson attacks against Israel going forward. But Hamas sources quoted by Israel Radio on Saturday afternoon denied this.

Nonetheless, Saturday saw the fewest launches of arson kites and balloons in weeks.

This comes after the Russian Ministry of Defense issued a formal statement, stating that murderous Moslems are attempting to break through the Syrian army defenses in the northern part of Homs province with the use of jacket wallahs, as well as attacks on the positions of government troops in Latakia province.

Jihadi groups in both Latakia and Idlib are repeatedly waging deadly attacks on the Russian military stationed in Hmeimim Air Base, using armed drones.

The prospected assault is expected to be spearheaded by the SAA’s elite Tiger Forces along with other combat units, and will be heavily supported by the Russian Air Force.

It [the assault] aims at recapturing all jihadi-held territories in al-Ghab Plain all the way to Jisr al-Shughur and the Ottoman Turkish borders; concurrently with opening the frontlines in norther Lakaia countryside.

According to sources, the onslaught is set to be launched after concluding the southwest Syrian attack soon.

UN chief calls on Israel to avoid further inflaming Gaza situation
[PRESSTV] UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called on Israel to avoid further inflaming the situation in the Gazoo Strip.

"Israel must exercise restraint"
(as usual)
"Israel must exercise restraint to avoid further inflaming the situation," said Guterres on Saturday.

"I am gravely concerned over the dangerous escalation of violence in Gazoo and southern Israel," he added.

While voicing concerns over the escalation of violence, Guterres also urged Paleostinian factions to avoid what he referred to as provocations.

"It is imperative that all sides urgently step back from the brink of another devastating conflict," he said.

He went on to call on all parties to cooperate with the UN to find a peaceful solution to the crisis, and avoid aggravating the "humanitarian catastrophe" in Gazoo.

Guterres' call came shortly after Israeli artillery units targeted a position of the Paleostinian Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, resistance movement in the Gazoo Strip only hours after it was announced that the Tel Aviv regime had reached a truce with Paleostinian factions in the besieged coastal enclave.

Iraq
Iraqi troops kill group of Islamic State militants, destroy two hideouts in Salahuddin
Salahuddin (Iraqinews.com) ‐ Iraqi authorities said on Saturday that security forces killed a group of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
turbans during a military operation in Salahuddin province.

In a statement, a copy of which was obtained by Alforat news website Saturday, front man for the Iraqi Security Media Council Brig. Gen. Yehia Rasool said, "A force from Salahuddin Operations Command spotted a group of Islamic Stat snuffies on board two boats in al-Shirqat district in Salahuddin."

The troops immediately "shot up the two boats, killing all the snuffies on board," the front man added.

The statement did not elaborate how many IS snuffies were exactly killed in the operation.

In another military operation, a security force managed to destroy two hotbeds of Islamic State in Tirkit island.

Spain: People's Party picks Pablo Casado as new leader
[Al Jazeera] Spain's conservative People's Party (PP) has picked Pablo Casado to replace Mariano Rajoy as its leader after the former prime minister was removed in a no-confidence vote in June and stepped down as head of the party.

Casado on Saturday beat challenger Soraya Saenz de Santamaria by 1,701 to 1,250 votes in a ballot of politicians and other senior PP members.

The appointment of 37-year-old Casado, who has promised a generational revamp of the opposition party, will be seen as a lurch to the right for the PP.

He has taken a hardline stance on the Catalan independence crisis, calling for the addition of offences such as illegally calling a referendum to the criminal code to boost Madrid's legal response to the secession threat.

"Spanish democratic parties should not be able to include illegal goals in their statutes," Casado said in reference to the Catalan pro-independence parties on July 11, according to Catalan News Agency.

"Dialogue doesn't work with those who want to break the law," he said earlier this week.

Russia’s FSB raids space research center over 'spying for West'
[PRESSTV] Russia’s Federal Security Service
... the successor to the KGB...
(FSB) has reportedly raided a top space research facility over the suspected leaking of secrets about the country’s new hypersonic weapons to the West.

Citing anonymous sources in law enforcement agencies on Friday, the Russian Kommersant daily newspaper said, "This morning, the FSB raided offices of staff at the Central Research Institute of Machine Building (TsNIImash)," which develops rockets and space technology for Roskosmos, Russia’s space agency.

The paper reported that the security forces carried out the search operations in the town of Korolyov outside Moscow after finding out that Western security services had information on "secret hypersonic developments by Russian industry."

Sources told Kommersant that the investigation was over "high treason," with some 10 people suspected of "cooperation with Western secret services."

It remained unclear what data may have been leaked but Russian media said the suspects were being investigated over passing secrets on the development of classified hypersonic technology ‐ involving missiles able to travel at more than five times the speed of sound ‐ to western intelligence agencies.

"It’s been established that TsNIImash employees are responsible for the leak," one of the sources familiar with the FSB case materials was cited as saying by Kommersant. "Many heads will roll, and the case will not end with mere dismissals."
