Greta the Teenage Climate Puppet Goes Full Marxist
In her latest public statement, she says that the 'climate crisis is not just about the environment':

It is a crisis of human rights, of justice, and of political will. Colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fueled it. We need to dismantle them all.

"After all, the climate crisis is not just about the environment. It is a crisis of human rights, of justice, and of political will. Colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fueled it." https://t.co/mffeq9eAKP

- Steve Milloy (@JunkScience) November 29, 2019

To anyone familiar with the workings of the green movement, Greta's statement will come as no surprise whatsoever.

That's why I called my book on the subject Watermelons.

Environmentalists are often green on the outside, red on the inside. Their movement is essentially a global socialistic redistribution exercise hiding behind a mask of green righteousness.

Meanwhile, the consequences of little Greta's hissy fits are being felt across Europe and hitting ordinary people hard.

Naftali Bennett: We need to boost our campaign in Syria
[Jpost] According to the defense minister, a window of opportunity exists to strike at Iran in Syria.

Defense Minister Naftali Bennett said in closed talks that a strategic window of opportunity exists that could increase military pressure against Iranian targets in Syria. In Bennett's view, the IDF needs to act more intensively in Syria.

Bennett called his conception of the tactics needed on the northern front, "braking to the exit." He said Iran's military force is still weak, so the danger posed to Israel is lower than it otherwise would be.

According to Bennett, the current policy under which Israel has been operating in recent years, known in the IDF as the "Campaign between Wars", should be changed, in order to harm Iran's establishment in Syria and other regions.

According to Bennett, there is now an opportunity to curb Iran and even cause it to leave Syria. This is in tandem with the US sanctions that are already seriously hurting the Iranian economy.

"If we do not act today and take advantage of the window of opportunity," Bennett argues, "in the more distant future, the risk will be greater, and they will paralyze us because of the military capability that is going to develop. More offensive military action alongside increased US economic sanctions and political pressure, these are the things that could get Iran out of Syria."

Iraq
Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi says he will resign
[CNN] Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi will resign after nearly two months of anti-government protests, according to a statement from his office.
CNN posts actual news? Wonder how this fits in with impeachment?
People set off fireworks as they celebrated his resignation in Baghdad's Tahrir Square, after anti-government protests, which began on October 1, swept through the country against alleged government corruption and Iranian involvement in the country's affairs.
So now the Persians know how long it'll take.
In the statement, Abdul Mahdi said he would submit a resignation request to parliament "to consider its options, with the knowledge that those near and far are aware that I had already made this decision known."
Originally he was gonna resign by the end of the year, which would have given him time for his financial arrangements and to buy his plane ticket.
He called on Iraq's government to "act in the interests of Iraq; to preserve the blood of its people; and to avoid slipping into a cycle of violence, chaos and devastation."
Yesterday he sent General al-Shammary to "restore order" in the south. He did that by shooting everybody in sight. Shammary was recalled that very evening. Now AAM announces his resignation the very next day.
Abdul Mahdi said his resignation was in response to the Friday sermon of Iraq's top Shiite holy man, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, who referenced the "failure of respective agencies to handle developments over the past two months."
"Ummm-allah-ballah-wallah! The PM's a bloody-handed crook! Inshallah! It is written! Salami, salami, baloney!"
Abdul Mahdi had initially agreed to resign on October 31 on the condition that a successor was agreed to replace him.
CNN reports. He agreed to resign on October 31st, target date the end of the year.

DAYS OF VIOLENCE
The news comes after the Iranian consulate in the southern city of Najaf was attacked on Wednesday. Mahdi ordered an investigation on Thursday into the deaths of at least 31 people.
An indignant populace attacked it and burned it to the ground.
More than 1,000 people were maimed over three days of demonstrations across Iraq from November 26 to November 28, the country's Independent High Commission for Human Rights said Thursday.
Previously, one poor guy was shot in the head with a tear gas cannister.
In total, around 380 people have been killed and 17,745 injured in Iraq since the protests began, according to Ali al-Bayati, a member of the Independent High Commission for Human Rights of Iraq. Protesters have demanded the government step down and hold early elections under direct supervision of the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
, activists told CNN.
Something for Jimmy Carter to do once the swelling goes down in his brain...
Many Iraqis blame the current political parties in power for their economic hardship.
At least the Iranians can blame the Great Satan and our sanctions. All the Iraqis have is the rapacity of their politicians--the ones they elected.
Officials have imposed curfews, internet blackouts, and deployed lethal force in attempts to quash the protests. The government said it only shoots when attacked, but demonstrators have disputed that.
And posted videos to back them up.

Britain
Footage emerges of Corbyn saying BBC ‘biased' toward ‘Israel's right to exist'
h/t Instapundit
[Times of Israel] British Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, accused by the Jewish community of tolerating anti-Semitism in his party’s ranks, once told Iranian state media that the BBC "has a bias towards saying that... Israel has a right to exist."

In the 2011 interview with Iran’s PressTV, posted on Twitter Tuesday by the British political blogger The Golem, Corbyn explains that "there’s pressure on the BBC from, probably, [then-BBC director general] Mark Thompson, who seems to me to have an agenda in this respect. There seems to be a great deal of pressure on the BBC from the Israeli government, from the Israeli embassy, and they are very assertive towards all journalists and toward the BBC itself. They challenge every single thing on reporting the whole time."

That Israeli pressure and bias from the likes of Thompson, Corbyn goes on to say, mean the corporation leans in favor of Israel’s existence.

Australian academic charged with orchestrating fake harassment campaign against herself
h/t Instapunit
The Dean of Science at the University of Technology Sydney in Australia has been charged after she allegedly orchestrated a fake harassment campaign against herself, prompting a lengthy police investigation and the implementation of significant security measures.

Environmental chemist and toxicologist Professor Dianne Jolley faced a Sydney court on Wednesday over charges she allegedly sent threatening letters to herself between May and September.

She is the fifth dean in as many years to serve in the UTS science faculty. In June the department was rocked by a decision to stop offering its degree in traditional Chinese medicine after more than 25 years.

University sources have told The Sydney Morning Herald the charges against Jolley are believed to be linked to the course closure.

California Plans to Hike Tax on Legal Marijuana, Threatening New Market With Rapid Extinction
we discussed this issue yesterday
California plans on increasing business tax rates on legal marijuana in 2020, which will hurt struggling companies that have trouble growing profits in the state’s toxic regulatory environment.

Hefty marijuana taxes that can approach 50 percent in some communities have been blamed for pushing shoppers into California’s tax-free illegal market, which is thriving. Industry analysts estimate that $3 are spent in the illegal market for every $1 in the legal one.

#8  This shithead could probably get billions in new revenues, and add thousands in savings each year to every CA household, if he and DOGR were to permit fracking in the Monterey Shale.

He might be able to lower taxes on marijuana and get the same result. The issue is that the current tax rates are such that illegal marijuana is now cheaper. The whole point of legalization was that legal would be cheaper, thereby driving traffickers out of business and eliminating the turf wars that result in shootings and killings. By keeping it more expensive than the illegal variant, the government is basically doing nothing to cut down on drug trafficking-related violence. It's just leeching onto legal drug sales for incremental tax revenues, which will go to zero as tax rates keep getting jacked up and users stop buying from legal outlets.

#5  The weak link in this chain is the media. Franklin, Jefferson et al knew that the only way to prevent a modern-era democracy from devolving into tyranny was through an independent and vigorous press.

What we have now instead is an auxiliary wing, a shock troop corps, of the political process.

All the social media nonsense is nothing more than a higher-velocity version of the immemorial arts of slander, innuendo, half-truths, tall tales and outright lies.

We need to amend and update the libel laws for this new environment.

Inexpensive car parts leading to unbelievably costly repairs
ATLANTA - A Channel 2 consumer investigation exposes how an inexpensive part can lead to an extra-expensive repair. Consumer investigator Jim Strickland reveals why the drivers of some of Ford's most popular cars and trucks get hit with the bill.

You know the names well, like F-150, Explorer, Fusion and Taurus. They're all Fords, and the affected model years in this case share the same engines. When a $200 part goes bad, the news gets worse in a hurry.

Shona Manigault's car is a 2011 Ford Explorer. She was pulling out of a McDonald's when it started to sputter, stall and overheat. It turned out to be a fairly routine issue involving the water pump, an engine component that circulates coolant to keep your engine at an optimum temperature. But the price of the repair was anything but routine: more than $8,100.

"Are you angry?" Strickland asked Mrs. Manigault.

"Angry is putting it lightly. I am past the moon with rage with what has happened to me with this vehicle," Manigault said.

Ford introduced the Duratec engine in 2007. Its water pump is inside the engine itself. When it fails, instead of anti-freeze leaking on the ground, it leaks into the oil, turning it into something resembling a chocolate milkshake.

#1  I believe the correct term is 'programmed obsolescence.'

'Making room in the engine compartment for a water pump' comment in the video is absolute bullshi*.

Hiding the fuel pump in the gas tank has been going on for years. Both engineering marvels tend to put the 'shade tree' do-it-yourself guy at a distinct disadvantage. But that was the goal after all.

Then there is the old "Cut a trace, double cpu speed."
There was a rumor once that a certain computer manufacturer offered an "upgrade" that would double CPU speed. Of course they charged a good price for it. The 'upgrade' was to have a field service technician go out and simply cut a trace on the circuit board. Once cut the processor would run at full speed.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
FBI Diagnosed With CIA Disease
[American Greatness] he Justice Department’s inspector general this month reprimanded the FBI for the manner in which it recruits and supervises its "confidential human sources." To the layman, this seems about technicalities. In fact, it shows that one of the CIA’s deadliest dysfunctions now infects the FBI as well.

This disease consists of choosing and rejecting sources for the purpose of indulging the agencies’ and their leaders’ private agendas rather than to further intelligence work on the public’s behalf.

Necessarily, the language of the inspector general’s November 19 report is vague: "Ineffective management and oversight of confidential sources." This means the FBI has failed to use "adequate controls" in its validation of human sources, which has resulted in "jeopardizing FBI operations, and placing FBI agents, sources, subjects of investigation, and the public in harm’s way."

The inspector general’s concern with the FBI’s source management stems from the investigation into the FBI’s involvement in the 2016 presidential campaign, including by taking seriously the infamous Steele dossier that it knew was a fabrication as well as, likely, some Russian communication intercepts that also should have been rejected on strictly professional grounds. In short, the FBI departed from its tradition of professionalism and honesty in pursuit of domestic political influence.

Choosing and recruiting sources, validating and managing them, is the very heart of intelligence. Doing it badly, taking sources that come easy‐especially dispensing with due skepticism about the ones that contribute to one’s own agendas‐is professional corruption. But doing it right is hard. To the extent that intelligence agencies find it difficult to fulfill expectations, they are tempted to substitute such corruption for the competence they lack. The pursuit of agency interests or even personal agendas takes over.

CIA DISEASE
Soon after the Central Intelligence Agency’s founding in 1947, Hanson Baldwin, the New York Times’ legendary military correspondent, had already noticed that the agency was using perfunctorily vetted-sources, or the officers’ own opinions, to fill the gap between the few modest secrets of which it could be sure, and the many big questions on which it was pronouncing itself.

CIA case officers, ivy leaguers whose "cover" was a thin pretense, were never able to recruit Soviet officials and tore at each other over whether those who offered themselves were for real. They solved the problem by subordinating counterintelligence (i.e., quality control) to what they felt was the need to tell the stories they wanted to tell.

During my years on the Senate Intelligence Committee’s staff, CIA officials’ preference for their personal and corporate interests over professional standards continued to get worse. It turned out that every last one of the Cubans they thought were our agents were actually working for Cuban intelligence. In East Germany, the United States had not a single "good" agent. Not only had CIA never recruited even one high-level Soviet agent, but for a decade, Aldrich Ames, CIA’s own chief of counterintelligence for the Soviet Union/Russia, the man who validated the Russians who offered their services and oversaw our operations in that country, worked for the KGB.

Millennials Are Fleeing Cities For Refuge From Democrats' Disasters
[Federalist] For twenty-somethings leaving a small town for the big city, the feeling of liberation and possibility can be exhilarating. Mom and dad, and their rules, are finally in the rearview mirror. But what’s up ahead is often worse‐the welcoming arms of an even stricter authority known as leftist city government.

Many millennials are discovering this the hard way and making a U-turn. New Census Bureau data shows millennials are increasingly trading in urban life for the suburbs and even switching states entirely.

My home city of Philadelphia is a prime example. Here, 60,000 residents leave per year, and half of them are 18 to 34 years old. The reason? Urban centers like Philadelphia are bent on destroying the very conveniences that drew millennials to the city in the first place.

Here, the combined effect of sky-high taxes and outdated regulations add up to an all-out war on millennials. Or at least a war on the things they love the most. Brunch, for example.

In Pennsylvania, where I live, the number of available liquor licenses is restricted by our state liquor monopoly. These restrictions and the fact that licenses are sold at auction (seriously!) make selling booze way too expensive for business owners. It can cost more than $100,000 to simply obtain the license to sell a mimosa.

The restaurateurs who either can’t get a license or can’t afford one are forced to offer the would-be boozy brunchers a BYOB policy. Okay, Boomer. You’re trying to sell this as a hip "Philly Phenomenon"? We’re not falling for it.

The war on brunch doesn’t end there. The state has free rein to mark up the price of alcohol, which it does constantly: average markups are 65 percent. Of course, the war on brunch is just one example of government overreach that has millennials fleeing cities.

British police defend decision to not pursue Prince Andrew sex trafficking claims
[NYP] British police on Thursday defended the decision to not fully investigate sex trafficking claims by Prince Andrew’s accuser ‐ something she has blasted as "corruption" in the highest levels of government.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre has long claimed that Jeffrey Epstein made her have sex with the royal three times, including in London in March 2001 when a now notorious photo was taken of them together.

Giuffre claimed on Twitter this week that London police told her they would "forensically examine" Ghislaine Maxwell’s house, where she claimed the sex happened soon after the photo was taken.

"Next thing I hear, just like the FBI, they were not allowed to pursue the investigation," she wrote Monday, calling it "corruption in the highelevels [sic] of gov."

On the other hand, his time as an active member of the family is done, full stop. A shame, really, Andrew acquitted himself well in the Falklands - may well have deserved a VC in decoying a missile away from a ship, and he had a genuinely solid military career.

That, however, was then. This is now.

‘Teacher of the Year' Randi Chaverria allegedly gave student BJ in classroom
[NYP] A Texas educator once lauded as her district’s "Teacher of the Year" allegedly performed oral sex on a student in a classroom, authorities said.

Randi Chaverria, a 36-year-old family and consumer science teacher at Round Rock High School, was arrested Tuesday after a student told police she had performed oral on him twice in October, according to an affidavit obtained by KVUE.

Text messages sent between the student and Chaverria ‐ who was named the Secondary Teacher of the Year by the school district in May ‐ appear to be consistent with the teen’s accusations, investigators said.

Record breaking climber Brad Gobright, 31, dies after plummeting 600ft down mountain in Mexico when he failed to tie a knot in the end of his rope to stop him sliding off
[MAIL] A record-breaking veteran climber fell 600-feet to his death off a steep Mexico mountain after failing to tie a knot in his rappel rope.
won't make that mistake again.
Brad Gobright, 31, had been rappelling down El Sendero Luminoso at El Potrero Chico on Wednesday with climbing partner Aiden Jacobson, 26.

Gobright and Jacobson met each other for the first time on the day of the climb. The night before, the veteran climber had posted to Instagram asking whether anyone wanted to join him. Jacobson, from Phoenix, answered the post, and the pair met up the next morning.

The pair used a 260ft rope to simul-rappel down the side of the mountain after they reached the peak, according to Outside. The climbing technique is where two climbers, using opposite ends of the same rope, descend down the side of a mountain. The rope is rigged to an anchor, and each climber acts as a counterweight to the other. If one stops weighting the rope, it could cause the other to fall.

In this case, Gobright and Jacobson did not tie potentially life-saving stopper knots in the ends of their ropes because it could cause the ropes to get stuck, according to Outside.

As the pair descended, they misjudged the length of rope they had on either side - with Gobright having less than he thought. And as they hadn't tied knots into the rope, when it reached its end it slipped out of his rappel device, causing him to fall 600-feet.

Jacobson fell at the same time, but his fall was broken by bush and he injured his ankle.

#2  A central piton is hammered deep into the rock crevices. This secures an anchor, a simple device which may have a pulley wheel or just a hook with rope going through it. Two can descend on either side now, sure that even if one guy slips, he'll just swing on the central point. The other guy will not feel more than a tug, and that too toward the piton itself.

You can't see it here but these guys are connected to a central pulley type anchor, so if one slips, the other only feels the tug upward. If both fools slip, they just swing from the thingy until they find their footing again.

Pope Leaves Factory Sticker On Hat To Garner Street Cred
[Babylon Bee] VATICAN CITY‐After picking up a brand-new Pope hat at a Vatican City Lids retail shop, Pope Francis reportedly elected to leave the New Era 59FIFTY factory sticker on the rim of the cap, in order to garner street cred with local youths.

Rather than peeling off the sticker from his new, brand-name papal hat, Pope Francis made the fashionable decision to "leave that bad boy on there," according to sources.

"I’m making Catholicism hip and relatable again," Francis said in a homily while sporting the shiny factory decal. "The kids will know I’m ’dope with the times’ when they espy my New Era sticker and know that I’m the real deal, yo."

At publishing time, Pope Francis had invested in an expensive set of pre-torn, factory faded papal robes.

Barone Sanitation & Cartage UPS employees busted in ‘sophisticated' drug, money trafficking scheme
[New York Post] Four UPS employees were arrested in the bust of a "sophisticated" drug- and cash-smuggling scheme that saw traffickers using the delivery service to ship counterfeit vape pens and other illicit goods from Mexico into the US for more than a decade, according to new reports.

The accused ringleader was a 20-year veteran of the shipping service at the company’s Tucson distribution center, who authorities allege used his position to hide the origin and destination of each illicit package, the Washington Post reported.

A total of 11 people have been collared in the bust, which capped a two-year investigation into the shipment of large amounts of narcotics to destinations throughout the eastern United States and bulk cash sent back to the Tucson, Arizona, area. The case is being handled by the Arizona Attorney General’s office.

UPS employees ‐ both drivers and supervisors ‐ used "sophisticated methods and techniques" to avoid detection by company officials and law enforcement to "identify and intercept parcels containing contraband," ICE spokeswoman Yasmeen Pitts-O’Keefe told the Tucson Sentinel.

Dispatch supervisor Mario Barcelo, 49 ‐ the accused ringleader ‐ allegedly used his clout to ensure drug-packed boxes made their way onto certain trucks, and which slyly bypassed security measures in order to be delivered on time to the intended destination, according to the Washington Post.

The other UPS employees were identified as supervisor Gary Love, 40; and drivers Michael Castro, 34; and Thomas Mendoza, 47.

The statement further added that 2 trainer pilots, 8 pilots and 5 door gunners received their graduation certificates during a ceremony in Kandahar Airfield on Wednesday.

Major General Abdul Raziq Sherzai, the commander of Kandahar Air Brigade, Resolute Support officials and some other officials also attended the graduation ceremony, the statement added.

College football highlights
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) ‐ Mississippi flushed away a golden chance at the Golden Egg.

Luke Logan missed a 35-yard extra point after Ole Miss receiver Elijah Moore was penalized for celebrating a touchdown by crawling and pretending to urinate like a dog, and Mississippi State escaped with a 21-20 victory Thursday night in the 116th Egg Bowl.

"That’s not who we are. We’ve been a disciplined team all year, and so just disappointed that happened," Rebels coach Matt Luke said. "That’s not who he is. Elijah is a good kid, and he just got caught up in the moment."
"That's not who any of us is. It was ....uh...someone else. Who you gonna believe? Me or your lying eyes....and tape?"
Ole Miss (4-8, 2-6 Southeastern Conference) pulled within a point with 4 seconds remaining on Matt Corral’s 2-yard pass to Moore, but Logan hooked the extra point after Moore cost the Rebels 15 yards. The extra yards also prevented Mississippi from going for a winning 2-point conversion.

The penalty was another in a long line of unsportsmanlike conduct fouls between these two teams in recent years, and oddly not even the first one featuring a player pretending to pee. Luke said he knew that as emotions flared in the annual rivalry game that showboating would need to be avoided.

#2  College football is an activity for a select few. Why are colleges promoting football? Most students cannot qualify to play the sport and the players that do make the team tend to have an attitude problem which does not reflect well on them.

Colleges are supposed to be in the education business, not the sport business.

Time to break the sport industries free from colleges/universities and let them make or break as a standalone business with no monies from colleges/universities.

Why Are Democrats Shrinking From the Impeachment Fight?
[Politico] On the substance, Democrats won the first two weeks of the impeachment hearings by TKO. They had the advantage that the facts are in their favor, especially considering the ground that congressional Republicans have tried to defend.

At the outset, Republicans created an impossible standard for themselves. Taking their cues from President Donald Trump, they chose to defend the idea that the Trump-Ukraine call was "perfect" and that there was "no quid pro quo," when the record simply wouldn’t support it. This was obvious enough about the call from the very beginning, and it became clear about the pressure campaign on the Ukrainians by the time the opening statement of acting Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor’s deposition was released.

The contention that the call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was the Platonic ideal of a communication with a foreign leader opened the way for Democrats to make a big deal of witnesses alarmed or unsettled by the conversation. Thus, the brief star turn for Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman to come and tell the committee that the call was "inappropriate." And the newsworthy testimony from Jennifer Williams, an aide to Vice President Mike Pence, that the call was "unusual," and from former National Security Council aide Tim Morrison, putting it even more delicately, that "it is not what we recommend the president discuss."

There really should be no debate about these characterizations of the call, except Republicans decided to try to have one.

Republicans now emphasize that none of the witnesses so far had direct knowledge of Trump’s directives on Ukraine and that even Gordon Sondland, the ambassador to the European Union, said the president formally denied a quid pro quo to him in a phone conversation (albeit late in the game and at the same time Trump said he wanted Zelensky "to do the right thing").
Yeah, unfortunate, that, right Dems and Never-Trumping assholes? Allahpundit and MSNBC wept. CNN...spasmed
This might be a defense that is useful only so long as no first-hand witnesses testify. But it gets to a weakness in the Democrats’ argument that will probably become even more prominent when the impeachment case, as it almost surely will, makes it to the Senate for a trial (and an acquittal).

The Real Reason the Dems Want Trump Gone
[Townhall] The calls to remove Donald Trump from office began before Donald Trump assumed office. They’ve wanted him gone from pre-day one and remain determined to run him off Pennsylvania Avenue by hook, crook, or any other means necessary.

If not for firing James Comey, then go to Michael Flynn. If that peters out there’s Stormy and Avenatti. No traction? Russian collusion. Didn’t get him? Ukraine’s up next. The effort to oust Trump has been nonstop for three years and shows no signs of slowing.

Why? Why is the inside-the-beltway permanent political class so determined to send Trump packing? Because he’s not a member of "The Club."

Yes Trump is ruff, gruff, combative, and bombastic, but there’s lots of Club members who are all of those things, yet they’ve been around Washington for decades. Truth is that The Club has been effectively insulating itself from the American people, enriching itself and its family members by burying self-pay schemes in the largess of government, and Trump is a threat. There are dark corners inside The Club’s clubhouse, lots of them, and Trump is wandering around with a flashlight.

...Club members have at their direct disposal hundreds of billions of dollars and indirectly, multiple times more. There’s a reason they’re more concerned about Trump’s inquiry into Joe Biden’s dealings than they are with Biden’s dealings. Washington Club members have been money laundering taxpayer dollars guised up as "foreign aid," "military aid," and "humanitarian aid" back to themselves through family, friends, foreign nations and corporations for decades. Ukraine is not unique.

...Since forever, The Club has been cutting deals and running scams for themselves and their families through which they end up filthy rich, incredibly powerful, travel the world at no personal expense, and eat quail on crackers‐all not only behind their constituents’ backs, but with those constituents’ dollars.

In Trump there’s finally someone at the helm who is not a part of the cabal, not a part of The Club, who has his own money, whose children don't need shady, foreign board of directors’ side deals. And, he's a threat to blow the whole thing up. He's shining lights into corners that they prefer remain dark. They must get rid of him; they can't allow this outsider and his flashlight to run roughshod inside the clubhouse. Dark corners must remain dark, no candles allowed. So for three straight years, they’ve looked for something, anything to get his wick snuffed out.

Jordan simulates war with Israel in army 'maneuver'
[Jpost] The Jordanian army conducted a military exercise simulating battle with Israel, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

The exercise's name is "Swords of Karama," which is reportedly named after Israel's 1968 operation against Fatah, which took place near the village Karama. At the time, Jordan fought alongside Fatah. Jordanian news sources claimed that the exercise simulated a defensive maneuver in which the country is "invaded."
Always said that one of Israel's bigger mistakes was helping Hashemites against Peleosimians - instead of vice versa - in 1970

Britain
Corbyn rejected by prominent British historian of Nazi Germany
[Jpost] Sir Richard Evans, one of the world’s leading historians of Nazi Germany, on Friday reversed his decision to support the British Labour Party in the December 12 election.

“Back from a visit to Germany to find Anthony Julius's persuasive open letter to me in the New Statesman. As much as [Labour leader Jeremy] Corbyn's lamentable failure to apologise in his tv interview, or the intervention of the Chief Rabbi, this has persuaded me to change my mind and not vote Labour,” wrote Evans on Twitter.

Julius, a British solicitor advocate who holds the chair in Law and Arts in the Faculty of Laws at University College London, wrote to Evans: “Let me remind you, on the subject of the Jews, the party has become cruel, malicious, stupid and dishonest. The cruelty has been persistent and extreme – death threats, shouted abuse at branch meetings, online trolling. The malice has been patent, incontinent and pervasive.”

Evans tweeted on Sunday that “I'm voting Labour. Great manifesto, pity about the leader, shame about Labour's support for Brexit, though at least they promise another referendum. The failure to deal with antisemitism in the party makes me very angry. But in my constituency only Labour can beat the Tory.” Evans's message electrified the Twitterverse because of his standing as a prominent historian and intellectual historian.

Julius responded in his letter: “But recall Corbyn's disparagement of ‘Zionists who, having lived in this country for a very long time, probably all their lives, they don’t understand English irony.’ My friend David Hirsh got it right: Corbyn was enjoying the old, sneery English view of Jews, and he was doing it to humiliate the Jews he was talking about. They live among us but they’re not really one of us.

Economists are boosting their fourth quarter growth forecasts after the trade deficit narrowed and business investment showed a surprise pickup in October.

The CNBC/Moody’s Analytic’s rapid update of economists forecasts showed a median increase of 0.1 percentage points to 1.8%. The government also reported a bigger-than-expected revision to growth in the nation’s third quarter gross domestic product to 2.1% from a first reading of 1.9%.

Economists are watching to see if October’s business investment rebound is signaling that the slowdown in spending and manufacturing could be coming to an end.

Bloomberg: 'America Needs an Awful Lot More Immigrants'
h/t Instapundit
If anybody thought that Michael Bloomberg would present himself as a truly moderate Democratic presidential candidate, I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint them: on Tuesday, Bloomberg said that the United States needs "an awful lot more immigrants rather than less."
"This lawn's not gonna cut itself"
Ah. You can just hear AOC, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib clapping, can't you?

"We need immigrants to take all the different kinds of jobs that the country needs ‐ improve our culture, our cuisine, our religion, our dialogue and certainly improve our economy," Bloomberg told reporters (nobody else seems to be interested in his campaign so far) at a... Mexican restaurant in Arizona.

After saying America needs more immigrants, Bloomberg went on to rip into President Trump. "Ripping kids away from their parents is a disgrace," he said, conveniently neglecting to mention that separating illegal immigrant families from each other actually (also) happened under President Obama. President Trump, on the other hand, ended the practice.

I find that interesting. One of the things that crystallized my departure from the Lutheran Church (ELCA) was when the congregation I attended, which had several outstanding ministers in its history, hired a woman who had not yet been ordained. I remember her droning on and on in her introductory sermon about how unfulfilled she had been as a waitress and how she knew she was going to be a good minister (ordination optional) I'm glad I was not around for my blood pressure to be spiked by the call to import some Syrian "refugees" on a nearly broke congregation's dime. Except higher immigration is correlated with stagnant wages for working people, blue and white collar. It's good for executives, it drives down wages, but it's hell on the lowest skilled citizens.

And improve our religion? Pardon me? What do we have to learn from people who invariably come from states with official religions or official suppression of religions? Does the US need to learn how to put on a pogrom? Are we lacking in our suttee skills? Fer crissake, this is a country where some of our favorite Christmas songs were written by Jews, we know it, and we love them all the more!

Mozambique Urges End to ‘Black Magic' Murder, Rape, Dismemberment of Albinos
[Breitbart] The government of Mozambique launched a new conference and training session initiative in partnership with an albino rights NGO Wednesday urging citizens to cease killing, raping, and using the body parts of people with albinism in witchcraft ceremonies.

In many parts of southeastern Africa, "traditional herbalists" who practice witchcraft spread the belief that people with albinism possess magical powers. Albinism is a condition in which a person’s body does not produce pigmentation, often leaving them more sensitive to sun exposure and other risks. Many in the region hold the common belief that potions featuring the body parts of an albino person can bring good luck, help in business, win political elections, and cure diseases. Relatedly, some believe that sex with an albino woman can cure HIV/AIDS, resulting in frequent instances of rape of albino girls and women.

Witch doctor demands for albino body parts make harvesting them by killing or dismembering an albino person a lucrative business.

Deputy Minister of Gender, Child, and Social Action Lucas Mangrasse attended a conference on albinism Wednesday alongside the organization Amor a Vida (love of life), which advocates for albino rights, speaking on behalf of the executive government in condemning violent acts against albino people. The organization demanded "urgent measures" to punish attacks on albinos and prevent further violence, in the hope of achieving a 2020 with no attacks on albinos on record.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Give Thanks--Moderately [Model Seeks Operation to Undo Her Fake 60-inch Booty]
[NYPost] A model who cosmetically enhanced her backside to 60-inches with illegal injections has been told by doctors she may have to have it amputated.

Courtney Barnes, also known as Miss Miami, says she is desperate to get her body back and went to see surgeons on E!’s reality show “Botched.”

But the 35-year-old, from Miami, Florida, was shocked when Dr. Terry Dubrow told her that in order to fix her botched backside, it might have to be amputated.

Stunned, she responds: “Amputate the whole booty? I’m not doing that. No, I’m not doing that. I’m not amputating butts.”
Looking at the photo at the link, I have to wonder what kind of a model she is. Not all that backside is injections.
As the immortal Spinal Tap warbled:

The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin'
That's what I said
The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand
Or, so I've read.
My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo
I love to sink her with my pink torpedo.

Big bottom
Big bottom
Talk about bum cakes
My gal's got 'em.
Big bottom
Drive me out of my mind.
How can I leave this behind?

I saw her on Monday, twas my lucky bun day
You know what I mean.
I love her each weekday, each velvety cheek day
You know what I mean.
My love gun's loaded and she's in my sights
Big game's waiting there inside her tights.

Big bottom
Big bottom
Talk about mud flaps
My gal's got 'em.
Big bottom
Drive me out of my mind.
How can I leave this behind?

US to cut spending on NATO budget, Germany to pay more
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The US is to cut its contribution to NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
’s operating budget, officials said Thursday, with Germany increasing payments as the alliance tries to appease President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
ahead of a summit next week.

Trump has repeatedly criticized Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an members for freeloading on the US, singling out Germany -- the continent’s economic powerhouse -- for lagging behind on an alliance commitment to spend at least two percent of GDP on defense.

While most of Trump’s anger has been focused on European national defense budgets, there has also been American grumbling about how much Washington contributes to NATO’s own running costs, and the 29-member alliance has now agreed to a change.

"All allies have agreed a new cost-sharing formula. Under the new formula, cost shares attributed to most European allies and Canada will go up, while the US share will come down," a NATO official said.

"This is an important demonstration of allies’ commitment to the alliance and to fairer burden-sharing."

The US currently pays 22.1 percent of the NATO budget -- which totaled $2.5 billion (2.37 billion euros) in 2019 -- and Germany 14.8 percent, under a formula based on each country’s gross national income.

Under the new agreement, the US will cut its contribution to 16.35 percent of the total, Germany’s will rise to the same level and other allies will pay more.

Though the sums involved are small in military terms -- the 29 alliance members spent a total of nearly a trillion dollars on defense in 2018 -- not all allies are happy with the move.

Diplomats say La Belle France has refused to go along with the new arrangement and will keep its contribution the same at 10.5 percent, arguing that the deal to change the figures was cooked up between Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel
...chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom. Now they make faces at her for inundating the country with Moslem colonists...
without properly consulting other allies.

Turkish police detain five over killing of Iranian in Istanbul
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Ottoman Turkish police said on Thursday they had detained five people in relation to the killing in Istanbul of an Iranian citizen who Ottoman Turkish media said was an opponent of Iran’s government.

Masoud Molavi died after he was shot at from a car in Istanbul's central district of Sisli on November 14. Ottoman Turkish broadcaster Haberturk said Molavi was a former Iranian intelligence employee who later became an opponent of Tehran.

Police said five people, including the person who is believed to have carried out the shooting, were detained on Wednesday. The other four suspects allegedly helped the gunman obtain the weapon he used and helped him hide.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] British Prime Minister Boris Johnson
...pro-Brexit British prime minister, succeeding no-Brexit Theresa May. BoJo is noted as much for his sparkling personality and his hair as for his Conservative policies....
’s Conservatives smashed the record for the amount of money raised in the first fortnight of an election campaign on Thursday, while the unions turned on the taps to keep the opposition Labour Party in touch.

Official spending data from the Electoral Commission showed that in the first two weeks of a campaign that will determine Britannia’s EU future, the Conservatives raised 8.6 million pounds compared with Labour’s 3.7 million pounds.

This is the second time this year Johnson has broken a record for political donations. Over the summer, he raised the most money by a British politician campaigning to lead their political party, underlining his popularity with donors.

Following the first week of the campaign when the Conservatives raised 26 times more in political donations than Labour, the main opposition party narrowed the funding gap by raising 3.5 million pounds, nearly all from unions.

Russia tries to block new Syria chemical weapons probe
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Russia urged member states of the global chemical weapons watchdog to vote on Thursday against funding a new team that will identify the culprits behind toxic attacks in Syria.

Moscow and its allies are trying to block next year’s budget for the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons -- potentially leaving the entire agency unable to operate -- if it includes money for the new Identification and Investigations Team (IIT).

The United States hit back by accusing Russia of a "cover-up" of the use of chemical weapons by its ally Damascus, at a tense annual meeting of the OPCW’s 193 member countries in The Hague.

"If the financing for the IIT comes out of voluntary contributions (the annual budget paid for by member states) then this will mean one thing only," Russian ambassador Alexander Shulgin told the meeting.

"It will mean that the backers (of the IIT) are going to hire so-called Sherlocks looking at chemical crimes, they will be hired to draw up conclusions which suit the ends of the sponsors," Shulgin said.

"This is disquieting. Confirmation can be found in what’s happening surrounding Douma."

Russia and the West have already clashed repeatedly over allegations by two whistleblowers that the OPCW altered the conclusions of a probe that found chlorine was used in an attack in the Syrian town of Douma in April 2018.

#4  Post-Communist Russia is indeed a troubled society with a shabby government. However, at its core Russia preserves a commitment the West's cultural heritage and to the achievements of our civilization.

There is no such thing as identity politics in Russia.

No BS about how white men are evil, or that all men are rapists-in-disguise.

No teaching children that they can call themselves girls if they're boys or v-v.

None of the self-hating idiocy that leads so many western elites to bow and scrape before the non-European nations and ask continually to be kicked for their unique and irredeemable awfulness.

Yes, Russia has a shitty government. But no Russian, of any political or other persuasion, engaged in the orgy of cultural self-hatred that you see everywhere in the West. Ironically, it's the east Europeans who are standing up for and preserving the best of the Western heritage.
Posted by: Lex || 11/29/2019 13:18 Comments || Top||

#5  Yes. The Russians do not suffer the anti-christian woke motherfuckers and islamist sharia mongers.

The image of 'the shabby government of Russia' appears to me an overplay too, of mostly liberal media and globalists trying their hand to change and devolve everything to their chosen standards.

The preservation of conventions that keep us free within reason often requires what liberal humanist classes see as villainy. The truncheon, the polonium, alliances with selfish oligarchs. All required in that part of the world, that cultural set to really use power for good or bad, because only possessing mandate there means nothing. You have to be ruthless. Of course they are hostile, selfish and hard headed folks, even monumental idiots. But they too are doing what they must.

We have to understand that the only way to keep our freedoms is to destroy any possibility of the global order encroaching through it's corrosive doctrines. That requires really strong sovereign States. And to keep those you will have to descend to some level of bad.

Most people go on about world peace. I think a start could be if we acknowledge that there cannot be a single doctrine or standard for society and government for all places on earth, all peoples. And nation States would simply meet each other halfway without expecting every leader to obey some norm of propriety, which also hasn't been proved correct yet. I really wish we could all get along on the things that really matter.

#1  Actually, the Black Death has been located in Central Asia. The locals have long lived with it by incorporating behaviors to avoid it. Its when travelers and outsiders ignore the peril that it starts to 'move'. East-West trade (Silk Road) or conflict would transit the place, outsiders (like Europe) would get to experience it in full force. It's endemic now in New Mexico having migrated from the China-Mexico trade route of the old Spanish empire. Just follow certain warnings and you'll be safe. Fear however apparently does wonders in selling print and filling airtime.

Iran: France’s consideration of nuclear deal dispute mechanism ‘irresponsible’
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
rejected on Thursday La Belle France’s consideration of invoking a dispute resolution mechanism within the Iran nuclear deal that could lead to UN sanctions, calling it "irresponsible."

The deal "does not allow the Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an parties to invoke the mechanism as Iran is exercising its legal right in response to the United States’ illegal and unilateral actions," Iranian Foreign Ministry front man Abbas Mousavi said, according to state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
"Under these circumstances, the deal does not allow triggering of the mechanism by the European parties to the deal ... such remarks by the French official are irresponsible and not constructive," Mousavi said.

La Belle France’s foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian suggested on Wednesday that Gay Paree was seriously considering triggering a mechanism within the 2015 Iran nuclear deal that could possibly lead to UN sanctions, given Tehran’s repeated breaches of the deal.

"Every two months, there is another dent [in the deal by Iran] to the point where today we ask ourselves, and I’m saying this very clearly, about the implementation of the dispute resolution mechanism that exists in the deal," Drian told a parliamentary hearing.

Britannia, La Belle France and Germany have sought to salvage the pact, under which Iran undertook to curtail its uranium enrichment program in return for relief from sanctions crippling its economy, since the United States withdrew last year.

But the three European powers have failed to make good on the trade and investment dividends promised to Iran under the deal as they have been unable to shield Tehran from renewed US sanctions that have strangled its vital oil trade.

That has prompted Iran to renege step by step from its non-proliferation commitments under the deal. Until now the European powers have opted to hold back on triggering the mechanism, fearing it could further impede diplomatic efforts, notably by La Belle France, to defuse tensions.

The remaining parties to the deal meet in Vienna on December 6 to discuss how to move forward.

The mechanism involves a party referring a dispute to a Joint Commission comprising Iran, Russia, China, the three European powers, and the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
and then on to the UN Security Council if that commission cannot resolve it.

If the Security Council does not vote within 30 days to continue sanctions relief, sanctions in place under previous UN resolutions would be reimposed - known as a "snapback."

"We have tried several initiatives that are going backwards [because] we have French [citizens] imprisoned [in Iran], we’ve established that regional attacks, notably on Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, from the Iranian authorities have been carried out," he said.

Sudan approves law to ‘dismantle’ former regime of Omar al-Bashir
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Sudanese transitional authorities approved a law late on Thursday to "dismantle" the regime of former president Omar al-Bashir
...Former President-for-Life of Sudan He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself head cheese. He fell out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Hee was overthrown by popular consent in 2019. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it...
, responding to a key demand of protest movement that helped overthrow him in April, state TV reported.

The Sudanese Professionals Association (SPA), which spearheaded the protests against Bashir, welcomed the law, saying it included the dissolution of the former ruling party and the confiscation of its funds and property.

"It is an important step on the path to building a democratic civilian state," the group said in a statement.

Implementation of the law will be a crucial test of how far transitional authorities are willing or able to go to overturn nearly three decades of rule by Bashir, who took power in a 1989 coup.

The law was passed during a joint meeting of Sudan’s sovereign council and cabinet that lasted several hours.

The meeting saw disputes over an article that bans people who took leading posts in the former regime from practicing politics, sources with knowledge of the proceedings told Rooters.

Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok said on Twitter that the law was not an act of Dire Revenge, but was rather aimed at preserving the "dignity of the Sudanese people."

"We passed this law in a joint meeting to establish justice and respect the dignity of the people, and safeguard their gains, and so that the people’s looted wealth can be recovered," he added.

Hamdok’s government was formed in September after a power-sharing deal between anti-Bashir groups and the Transitional Military Council that ruled the country immediately after Bashir’s overthrow.

Blasts kill 16 in northern Afghanistan; mostly women, girls
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Afghan officials said Thursday that separate explosions in the country’s north killed at least 16 people, almost all of them women and maiden of tender yearss.

A roadside kaboom struck a civilian vehicle going to a wedding Wednesday evening, killing at least 15 people including six women, six girls and two infants, as well as the male driver, according to Nasrat Rahimi, an Interior Ministry front man. He said two other civilians were maimed in the blast in northeastern Kunduz province.

Hours later, a shootout and explosion at a security checkpoint killed at least one policeman, said Mohammad Nooragha Faizi, a police front man in northern Sari Pul province.

He said murderous Moslems in a vehicle carrying explosives were stopped at the checkpoint Thursday morning, then opened fire to cover their escape. Faizi said they apparently detonated the explosives remotely after getting away, although an investigation was ongoing.

The Interior Ministry blames the Taliban

said US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley met with Ghani in Kabul on Thursday and reassured him the US remained committed to fighting terrorism.

Last Tuesday, the Taliban freed an American and an Australian held hostage since 2016 in exchange for three top Taliban figures. The bad boy group said the swap could help rekindle peace negotiations. US-Taliban peace talks collapsed in September.

The Taliban control or hold sway over half of Afghanistan, staging near-daily attacks that target Afghan forces and government officials but also kill scores of civilians.

Premature car bomb explosion damages 10 houses, injures 13 civilians in Sar-e Pul

[KhaamaPress] A Taliban

boom-mobile went off prematurely in a residential area in northern Sar-e Pul province of Afghanistan which damaged 10 houses and injured 13 civilians, the Afghan military said.

According to a statement released by 209th Shaheen Corps in the North, the Talibs were looking to carry out a car kaboom using a Jeep vehicle packed with explosives.

However,
a clean conscience makes a soft pillow...
the Afghan forces identified the boom-mobile before the faceless myrmidons could drive it to the picturesque provincial capital where they wanted to detonate it.

The statement further added that a clash broke out after along Sayad district highway after the Afghan forces traced the boom-mobile which went off prematurely.

The explosion damaged ten houses and injured at least 13 residents of the area, the 209th Shaheen Corps added in its statement.

The Taliban group has not commented in this regard so far.

-Israel border have been cancelled for the third week, organizers said on Thursday, amid declining turnout and fears of a fresh conflict in the Gaza Strip.

A statement by the organizing committee said it had decided to postpone this Friday’s marches to "avoid giving an opportunity to the Zionist enemy (Israel)" and due to "the very dangerous security conditions" after a deadly flare-up in Gaza earlier this month.

It argued that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was looking for an opportunity to divert attention after being indicted on corruption charges and a new conflict with Gaza could help him do so.

The protests, which began in March 2018 and are backed by Gaza’s Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,, initially attracted tens of thousands of people weekly, but numbers have declined dramatically.

The rallies were cancelled the two previous weeks after a flare-up between Israel and Islamic Jihad

Lebanon pays back $1.5 billion Eurobond amid economic crisis
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Leb paid back a Eurobond worth $1.5 billion that was scheduled to mature Thursday, a Finance Ministry official said, pacifying concerns of a first-ever default on its debt amid the worst financial crisis in three decades.

The tiny Mediterranean country’s economic emergency has ignited nationwide protests against widespread corruption and mismanagement, bringing the country to a standstill for over a month. The protests were initially sparked by new taxes but have snowballed into calls for the entire political elite to step aside.

Prime Minister Saad Hariri
...Second son of Rafik Hariri, the Leb PM who was assassinated in 2005. He has was prime minister in his own right from 2009 through early 2011. He was born in Riyadh to an Iraqi mother and graduated from Georgetown University. He managed his father's business interests in Riyadh until his father's assassination. When his father died he inherited a fortune of some $4.1 billion, which won't do him much good if Hizbullah has him bumped off, too....
resigned in late October, meeting a key demand of the protesters. But that has plunged the country into further uncertainty, with no clear path to resolving its economic and political problems.

The Eurobond announcement came as a top Arab League

official arrived in Leb, expressing readiness to help the country solve its political stalemate.

The repayment was being widely watched in Leb, which has one of the highest debt ratios in the world, standing at $86 billion or 150 percent of the GDP. There were concerns that Leb, which always paid back its debt on time, might default. Leb has in recent weeks imposed unprecedented capital controls.

Turkey to send 11 ISIS detainees back to France in December
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
will repatriate 11 French ISIS detainees early in December, state media quoted Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu as saying on Thursday, as Ankara pressed on with a repatriation program that had strained ties with some of its allies.

Turkey begun the process of repatriating the ISIS detainees earlier this month, sending several suspects to their home countries despite calls from some Europe

an nations that the suspected jihadists should be tried where they committed crimes.

Ankara has repeatedly threatened to send ISIS prisoners back to Europe. In early November, Soylu said Turkey will send captured ISIS members back to their countries even if their citizenships have been revoked, criticizing the approach of European countries on the issue.

"We will send back those in our hands, but the world has come up with a new method now: revoking their citizenships," Soylu said. "They are saying they should be tried where they have been caught. This is a new form of international law, I guess."

Iran is seeking a $2 bn advance on crude supply which China would rather decline to pay and Russia is already investing heavily in Bishkek infrastructure, while they play hard to get with China.

#4  So Iran, provide most of the targets ships while Russia provide a couple row boats and maybe a tender and China supply a couple rusty (freshly painted) ships from the boneyard?

Sounds about right as both Russia and China have said nothing, Iran is doing all the talking.

#6  No tenders and boneyard floater, SCFI. You'd be surprised at the SOTA weaponry in both militaries.

Except, there is no real xp. In that they have had no significant throwdowns for decades now, Chinks least of all. Gawd knows if they can even use all that air and sea power as swiftly and effectively as the original designs were meant to be used.

All the armament in China is overtly complicated knockoffs of simple designs researched and practically grown out of real wars by western militaries. The drills and routines that go with those machines of war have evolved within the military industrial complexes. But China have had to improvise, develop their own routines and exercises based on sketchy input from their spies and what can be bought off merc trainers.

Russia is better suited to war in that regard I think. Tough units, they make do with what they have and can probably run a war with one Russian carrying two Chinese on each shoulder while the Iranian draws everyone's fire.

But it's just a confidence building excercise and for the benefit of Iran only. No such axis is possible practically. Maybe Russia-China, in a bilateral alliance, but Iran will never mesh with either. Not in objective, not on the field.

And somewhere the Hand of Soros is also evident behind contractors from construction to mining, and behind several environmental and social interest groups; all trying to alter central Asian realpolitik to some globalist acceptable modality.

Whew! Ok, back to my regularly scheduled concerns. Russia and China in the end are competitors, not allies of more than convenience.

As for selling Iran stuff, China could trade Chinese-made stuff for oil, but what do they have to trade that Russia would want?
Posted by: trailing wife || 11/29/2019 13:59 Comments || Top||

#14  Nothing. You are right. In fact Russia is still mulling whether to treat china as a volatile nuisance or an unwilling ally. What they want really, and they're not saying, is that the OBOR thingy is delayed for as long as it can be. A lot of the trade routes that otherwise transit Russia controlled areas shall be replaced by shorter routes owned by China. While they can't really stomp their feet about it, they are both trying to invest and buy influence with central Asian areas like Kazakhstan.
Posted by: Dron66046 || 11/29/2019 14:15 Comments || Top||

#15  Also, china has made military offers to Iran, but Iran prefers to buy from Russia - small arms and munitions, trucks and tanks and fighters. They don't want fancy knockoffs of kalashnikovs and cost-cut Migs in exchange for their oil you see.

Chinese stuff has only been tested in these countries : Iran, Iraq, Myanmar, North Korea, Pakistan, and Thailand. Understandably so.

#16  Iran is seeking a $2 bn advance on crude supply which China would rather decline to pay and Russia is already investing heavily in Bishkek infrastructure, while they play hard to get with China.

The Kazakhs used to have their capital in Almaty, right next to the Chinese border. After consultations over border disputes with the Chinese, they decided to move it ~800 miles to the northwest west, all the way to Nur-sultan aka Astana aka Akmola. It's also much further from the Chinese border. Prudence reared its ugly head. You gotta think they consulted with Russians re how quickly the Russian rapid reaction force could respond to a Chinese incursion. My guess is not all that quickly, given the way funding levels for the Russian military has plummeted since the end of the Cold War, while the PLA has been swimming in cash.

#17  The real interest lies in Kazakhstan, something Russia and China are both vying for, and benefits Iran only if an islamist could be installed there.

Kazakhs are majority Sunni, so if Islamists take over there, they will also likely be Sunni, unless some Shiite Kazakh version of the Assads manage, by some combo of skill and luck, to win power. And Sunni Islamists generally don't get along with Shiites, unless they're Sunni Islamist fugitives trying to escape Uncle Sam (i.e. elements of al Qaeda currently being sheltered in Iran).
Posted by: Zhang Fei || 11/29/2019 23:26 Comments || Top||

#18  so if Islamists take over there, they will also likely be Sunni

Something India and Russia are both trying to prevent. India have a significant carrot dangling before the Samruk-Kazyna, development funds and the like. Russia had a couple of mullahs 'fall out of public work' from 2016 to now.

But it's an uphill task, protecting the muslim from destroying himself.

Saudi, UAE discuss $70 billion crude refinery project in India
[Dawn] Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates discussed a planned refinery in the western Indian state of Maharashtra that will cost at least $70 billion, a figure that exceeds the initial $44 billion estimate previously announced.

The new figure came from a read-out of a meeting in the UAE between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday evening.

The statement said the two sides discussed the initiative, first announced in 2018, to develop the refinery and petrochemicals complex, which would secure the supply of 600,000 barrels per day of Saudi and Emirati crude oil for India's market.

The project, which would be run by a consortium that includes Saudi Aramco and ADNOC, has yet to begin or secure land.

Data Darbar bombing facilitator sentenced to death by Lahore ATC
[DAWN] An antiterrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Thursday convicted and sentenced to death the controller of the Data Darbar suicide kaboom on May 8 that had left 12 people, including five Elite Force personnel, dead.

The convict, Mohsin Khan, was sentenced to death on 22 counts ‐ 11 under the Pakistain Penal Code and 11 under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) ‐ and to life imprisonment under the Explosive Substance Act.

Additionally, the convict has been ordered to pay compensation "at the rate of Rs0.4 million per murder" to the heirs of the dear departed and Rs50,000 to each of the injured in the attack.

The case was registered on a complaint of the counterterrorism department. During today's hearing, the court ruled that the convict's crime had been proven by the prosecution.

According to prosecutor Abdul Rauf Wattoo, Mohsin and the jacket wallah had entered Pakistain from Afghanistan through Torkham on May 6. "Both belonged to a banned outfit," the prosecutor told the court.

He said that kaboom was found in the convict's possession when he was captured.

Retracing the events of the bombing, the prosecutor said that on May 8, at around 8:45am, the bomber had blown himself up near gate 2 of the Data Darbar shrine, near a vehicle of the Elite Force. "Eleven people, including security personnel, had been killed, and 30 had been left injured," he said.

The prosecutor said that Mohsin hails from Shabqadar tehsil of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Charsadda district.

Both the controller and the bomber had arrived in Lahore on May 8 and had acquired residence near the shrine.

Mohsin was arrested by the CTD on May 21. He is being held in Lahore's Central Jail.

His death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
"shall not be executed till its confirmation by the Lahore High Court", according to the ATC judgment.

Hunter Biden’s ‘baby mama’ Lunden Roberts was stripper at club he frequented

Roberts worked there around the time she got pregnant ‐ and when Hunter broke up with former sister-in-law Hallie Biden, the widow of his brother, the late Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, sources said.

Europe
French police start moving migrants from northern Paris site
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] French police started moving migrants colonists from an illegal camp site in northern Gay Paree on Thursday, as the government aims to show it is taking a tougher stance on illegal immigration.

Local police said in a statement they would be moving between 200-300 people from the site in northern Gay Paree’ Porte d’Aubervilliers, and put them up in shelters.

Since the closure of a huge migrant camp in Calais in 2016, many refugees have moved to Gay Paree. Authorities have repeatedly dismantled illegal campsites only to see them pop up again in different areas a few months later.

Earlier this month, President Emmanuel Macron’s government pledged to clear out some migrant tent camps, impose quotas for migrant workers and deny newly-arrived asylum seekers access to non-urgent healthcare, in a response to voters’ concerns about immigration.

"Black Voices for Trump": Campaign hopes to replicate FDR's 1936 Success in Reaching Out to Black Voters
[Real Clear Politics] Last week the presidential campaign of Donald Trump announced a six-figure ad buy across black radio stations and in black newspapers. The newspaper campaign targeted 11 major markets in key states across the nation, including Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Virginia — all states that the Trump team believes will be in play in 2020. The radio ads were run in the same 11 urban markets. Under their theme of “Black Voices for Trump,” it is clear that the Trump campaign is emulating what the Franklin D. Roosevelt campaign did in 1936.

Just as Roosevelt overwhelmingly lost the black vote in 1932, doing worse than Al Smith in 1928, Trump lost the black vote in 2016. But, again like Roosevelt in 1932, Trump did reach out to the black electorate in 2016. Both FDR in ’32 and Trump in ’16 had some limited but encouraging success in winning over these voters: Roosevelt in New York where he had been governor, and Trump in Pennsylvania where his outreach helped provide his margin of victory in that key state.

The groundwork laid in 1932 was crucial to FDR’s success with black voters in 1936. In fact, in that first election, a wealthy oilman and key supporter of the Democrat, Frank Benedum, “saw the conversion of the black vote as a potential means of swinging Pennsylvania into the Roosevelt column,” Nancy J. Weiss wrote in “Farewell to the Party of Lincoln.” Benedum knew the key was longtime Republican supporter Robert L. Vann, editor of the Pittsburgh Courier, one of the biggest and most influential black newspapers in America. By 1932 Vann was fed up with the GOP. In his view, all the Republicans seemingly cared about was black votes, not the goals and aspirations of black Americans.

Iraq
Iraq’s Prime Minister fires new commander after 22 killed in crackdown
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraq’s Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi on Thursday sacked the military commander he had dispatched earlier in the day to "restore order" to a protest-hit southern city after a crackdown there killed 22 protesters.

Abdul Mahdi sent General Jamil Shummary to the city of Nasiriyah on Thursday morning. Following the deployment, the toll in a bloody crackdown on the city rose to 22 protesters dead and more than 180 maimed.

Iraqi television announced the premier had "withdrawn" Shummary from the post by the afternoon.

The violence erupted like lava from a volcano after the premier dispatched military commanders to "restore order" in the protest-hit south, hours after demonstrators torched Tehran’s consulate in the shrine city of Karbala.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel demolishes homes of 4 suspected Palestinian attackers
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Israeli military says it has demolished the homes of four Paleostinians suspected of killing an Israeli soldier.

Israeli forces tore down the homes in the West Bank village of Beit Kahil, northwest of Hebron. Israel says the four are suspected of being involved in the fatal stabbing Cpl. Dvir Sorek in August.

Clashes erupted during Thursday’s demolition, with Paleostinian protesters hurling rocks and burning tires at Israeli troops.

Aref Asafrah, the father of one of the suspected killers, says he and his ten children are now homeless.

Israel says it carries out home demolitions as a deterrent against future Paleostinian attackers.

The new defense minister, Naftali Bennett, said Thursday that home demolitions prove "there is a price to terror, and Jewish blood is not spilled without cost."
