Florida Vote Count Official Accused of Having More Voters on Rolls than Eligible Citizens
[Breitbart] The Florida official put in charge of counting votes in Broward County ‐ the most liberal county in the state ‐ for the gubernatorial and Senate race was previously accused of having more voters on her rolls than eligible voters in the county.
Despite the election occurring days ago, Broward County Board of Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes continues tallying ballots, though she has refused to disclose how many ballots are still not counted. Republican Senate candidate Rick Scott has announced he will sue the county for mishandling the election.

In 2016, Snipes had a lawsuit filed against her office by the American Civil Rights Union after they claimed she had more voters on the rolls in the county than eligible citizens in the area at one point.

According to the lawsuit, filed by the Public Interest Legal Foundation, Broward County had more voters on their voter rolls than eligible citizens with a 103 percent voter registration rate.

The lawsuit also accused Broward County of having nearly 50 registered voters on the rolls who were older than the oldest living American at the time. One of those voters was allegedly listed as being 130-years-old.

#2  Call it what you will, we can't allow this to happen.

We've BEEN allowing it to happen election cycle after cycle after cycle for decades. This is why it is spreading and getting worse. If those entrusted to enforce the law and prevent this do not start doing their jobs, eventually there will Vigilance Committees formed and the dispensing of rough justice. In my mind it is long overdue, that we haven't seen it yet is a testament to our sides law abiding nature. That will end at some point as people realize they are trapped and the walls of tyranny are closing in.

#3  Trump needs to step in. Just like the federalization during the voting rights era of corrupt Democrats suppressing votes, He needs to send in Federal Marshalls to seize all the ballots and equipment, and have the FBI investigate every single poll worker and official in the county office.

Even the appearance of fraud is so corrosive to our process of democracy that it cannot be tolerated.

Step in Donald. Order the US Marshalls in. Put a stop to this bullshit - she has already defied a court order - time to put her in jail and take the office over.

Isn't it about time Chevron pulled the pin on Maduro's Venezuela?
[American Thinker] Big Oil has always had a reputation for propping up crappy little banana republics and tinpot regimes, and well, Chevron is squarely on the hot seat for that one these days.

See, it's literally the only thing left that's keeping Venezuela afloat, through its large investments in that country. If Chevron pulls out, the Maduro regime collapses. Now there's some question as to whether it ought to be following all the other oil majors and pulling out. According to today's Wall Street Journal:
Chevron's dilemma is both moral and commercial. The California-based giant long enjoyed close relations with the socialist regime that controls the world's largest oil reserves, and has earned big money in Venezuela‐about $2.8 billion between 2004 and 2014, according to cash-flow estimates by analytics firm GlobalData .

The company is aware a pullout could trigger a collapse of the government's finances, because a significant chunk of its scarce hard currency comes from joint operations with Chevron.

Yet by staying in the country as its economic and humanitarian crises deepen, the company risks damage to its reputation by being seen as supporting an authoritarian regime sanctioned by the U.S. government. It also isn't making much money here anymore.

According to the Wall Street Journal report, Chevron is pretty much the last investor left in Venezuela, and the only source left for hard currency. The country's money has melted down so badly in its one-million-plus inflation that it's down to using a fake cryptocurrency of no credibility whatsoever. But socialists being socialists, they save the best for themselves -- U.S. dollars -- and Chevron pays and deals in U.S. dollars. If Chevron pulls out, Maduro gets the meathook. See how important this oil giant is to the Chavista regime's capacity to stay afloat?

Which is why people are starting to wonder about these guys. Why is Chevron still propping up the Maduro regime when all the other guys have pulled out and sued the bastards for billions, yet Chevron is not making any money from it, which is a disservice to its shareholders. Worst of all, the money it's paying (for royalties, etc. for the privilege of extracting the oil) is solely going into the Maduro regime's coffers and it's the only thing propping the dictatorship up.

#2  Chevron, and its predecessor companies, have long followed a 'non-political' practice in dealing with governments in the countries in which they operate. They follow the laws, rules, whatever, of whoever is actually in power. The long-term result is that as regimes come and go, the contracts mostly get honored - all parties want the prize of a functional cash cow.

Woman paralysed in fall during sex loses claim
[Independent IE] A woman left paralysed after being "catapulted" from her new bed during a sex act has lost her seven-figure claim for damages against the bed supplier.

Claire Busby, of Maidenhead, Berkshire, England, suffered a serious injury to her spine when she fell from a ceiling mounted rotating basket the super king-size double divan as she changed position.

The 46-year-old claimed the bed was in a "defective state" at the time of her accident and took legal action against Berkshire Bed Company, trading as Beds Are Uzzz, which supplied it. But, rejecting her case, Judge Barry Cotter found the bed was "not defective" and that Ms Busby's fall was a "tragic accident".

The judge said: "As a result of the matters set out above, the claim in relation to this tragic accident, which is what I find it was, a simple accident, fails."
Judgements supporting replacement of Clarie's destroyed GoPro were also denied.
The judge said he was not satisfied the bed was "defective", even taking into account "reasonably foreseeable misuse".
Think what might have resulted had she not been wearing a helmet.
He added: "It required a most unfortunate and unusual combination of positioning on the bed and movement which I do not believe would have been foreseeable by any reasonable person prior to the incident."

During the trial, the court heard that Ms Busby was injured a week after the bed's delivery while having sex with her then partner, John Marshall. She told the court she was kneeling in the middle of the bed performing a sex act when she decided to move position and "swung her legs" from underneath her, before lying back on the bed with her head towards the bottom end.
John Marshall was the only other witness I take it ?
At that point, she claimed, the bed gave way and she toppled off the end, landing on her head.

President Trump threatens to withhold federal payments over California fires
[AP via Independent IE] President Trump earlier issued an emergency declaration providing federal funds to help firefighters.

President Donald Trump is threatening to withhold federal payments to California, claiming its forest management is "so poor".

President Trump said "there is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly fires in California".

The president said that "billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments".

The comments were President Trump’s first about massive wildfires, including a blaze that incinerated most of the Northern California town of Paradise and killed at least nine people.

Wildfires also raged in Southern California, including the town of Thousand Oaks, where a gunman days earlier killed a dozen people at a local bar.

Either way, the celebrities houses are starting to go up in smoke so things will have to change, but not in a way that threatens their other deeply held absurd beliefs. It's going to take some thinking to pull that off. In the meanwhile, Cali burns.

#6  The big problem with managed burns is that the managing entity effectively assumes the liability for damages, and no burn can be perfectly controlled. Damage from natural burns confers no liability.

#8  and no burn can be perfectly controlled

Some years back, the Michigan Dept of Natural Resources tried to do a controlled burn to create some habit for the endangered Kirtland's Warbler and ended up burning down a goodly portion of the state. No idea if the warblers appreciated the gesture.

If you decide to do a burn after suppressing natural fires for decades, you have a whole lot of accumulated fuel that wouldn't be there if natural fires were allowed to take their course.

Just thinking out loud, I wonder if a low-yield nuke could be used to blow out a forest fire. They do something similar with oil well fires.

Further thinking out loud, why isn't JTOL (just thinking out loud) a standard interweb acronym?

Scotland to mandate LGBTQ-inclusive curriculum across all public schools
[NBC] In what is thought to be a world first, Scotland has approved a plan to mandate an LGBTQ-inclusive education at all public schools across the country.

The Scottish Government announced on Thursday that it had accepted all 33 recommendations put forth by the LGBTI Inclusive Education Working Group to implement a curriculum that will teach students of different age groups lessons about lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex equality, inclusion and history.

Some of the themes that will be incorporated into the curriculum will include "LGBTI terminology and identities; tackling homophobia, biphobia and transphobia; prejudice in relation to the LGBTI community; and promoting awareness of the history of LGBTI equalities and movements," according to a statement issued by the Scottish Government.

Honestly, I thought I was going to post this video along with a bunch of liberal hate-tweets over this woman changing her mind about her abortion. But I couldn’t find any. I don’t know whether they just haven’t seen it or what, but the only tweets I could find was people celebrating it.

Arabia
U.S. ends refueling support in Yemen war as pressure builds on Saudi Arabia
[Reuters] WASHINGTON/CAIRO - Saudi Arabia and the United States have agreed to end U.S. refueling of aircraft from the Saudi-led coalition battling Houthi insurgents in Yemen, ending a divisive aspect of U.S. support to a war that has pushed Yemen to the brink of famine.

The move, announced by the coalition on Saturday and confirmed by Washington, comes at a time when Riyadh, already under scrutiny for civilian deaths in Yemen air strikes, is facing global furor and potential sanctions over the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at its Istanbul consulate on Oct. 2.

The United States and Britain late last month called for a ceasefire in Yemen to support U.N.-led efforts to end the nearly four-year long war that has killed more than 10,000 people and triggered the world’s most urgent humanitarian crisis.

"Recently, the Kingdom and the Coalition increased its capability to independently conduct inflight refueling in Yemen. As a result, in consultation with the United States, the Coalition has requested the cessation of inflight refueling support for its operations in Yemen," it said in a statement.

Saudi Arabia has a fleet of 23 planes for refueling operations, including six Airbus 330 MRTT used for Yemen, while the United Arab Emirates has six of the Airbus planes, Saudi-owned Al Arabiya al-Hadath channel reported on Saturday.

Riyadh also has nine KC-130 Hercules aircraft that can be used, it added.

Democrats Plan to Pursue Most Aggressive Gun-Control Legislation in Decades
[WSJ] WASHINGTON‐Democrats say they will pass the most aggressive gun-control legislation in decades when they become the House majority in January, plans they renewed this week in the aftermath of a mass killing in a California bar.

Their efforts will be spurred by an incoming class of pro-gun-control lawmakers who scored big in Tuesday’s midterm elections, although any measure would likely meet stiff resistance in the GOP-controlled Senate.

Democrats ousted at least 15 House Republicans with "A" National Rifle Association ratings, while the candidates elected to replace them all scored an "F" NRA rating.

"This new majority is not going to be afraid of our shadow," said Mike Thompson, a California Democrat who is chairman of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. "We know that we’ve been elected to do a job, and we’re going to do it."

Mr. Thompson, who represents a district in the Napa Valley north of San Francisco, said he plans to introduce legislation mandating universal background checks in the opening weeks of the new Congress.

The gun-control movement’s evolution was evident this week following news that a dozen people had been killed Thursday at a country music bar in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

"What we do is say, how do we make certain that we protect the Second Amendment and protect our citizens?" Ms. Blackburn replied, referencing the U.S. Constitution plank that grants the right to bear arms.

About 61% of voters participating in the 2018 midterm elections said America’s gun laws should be stricter, according to AP VoteCast, a pre-election and Election Day survey of about 90,000 people who said they voted or intended to vote. About 13% of Democrats and 8% of all voters said gun control was the most important issue affecting their vote.

The 2018 elections marked the first time gun-control advocates outspent the NRA.

The gun-rights advocacy group spent about $20 million in the 2018 election cycle‐much of it on advertising backing the confirmation of Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, NRA spokeswoman Jennifer Baker said.

Everytown for Gun Safety, the gun-control organization backed by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and a group founded by former Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was critically wounded in a 2011 shooting, spent a combined $37 million in 2018.

Ms. Baker said she is optimistic NRA-backed candidates will prevail in governor’s races in Florida and Georgia that have yet to be called. The NRA also invested in GOP Senate candidates who ousted Democratic incumbents in Indiana, Missouri and North Dakota. NRA-backed Senate candidates lost in Montana and West Virginia.

"The biggest Second Amendment implication of the election is that the pro-Second Amendment majority in the U.S. Senate will continue to confirm pro-Second Amendment judges to the lower courts all the way to the Supreme Court," Ms. Baker said.

At the state level, voters in Washington state approved a ballot referendum expanding the state’s requirement for background checks on gun purchases. In Florida, Democrat Nikki Fried leads the race for agriculture commissioner, whose office regulates the state’s concealed weapon permits.

The highest-profile gun-control advocate on the ballot Tuesday was Democrat Lucy McBath, who defeated GOP Rep. Karen Handel in a suburban Atlanta House contest. Ms. McBath, a former Delta Air Lines flight attendant, became a gun-control advocate after her teenage son, Jordan Davis, was shot and killed in 2012 by a man who said the boy was playing music too loud. The assailant was later convicted of murder.

Ms. McBath, who became a spokeswoman for Everytown and a 2016 campaign surrogate for Hillary Clinton, relayed her story on the campaign trail and in her early television advertisements. But in the closing weeks before Election Day, Ms. McBath focused on health care and economic issues.

Everytown’s closing TV ad backing Ms. McBath didn’t mention gun control, focusing instead on health care. "Voters absolutely understood where Lucy stood on the issue of gun safety," said Everytown President John Feinblatt. "There was no question in voters’ minds about Lucy’s story."

Broward County Is An Embarrassment, And The Potential For A Stolen Florida Election Is Real
[The Federalist] Last night CBS News’ John Dickerson tweeted "The Florida voting system is the Florida Man of voting systems." But at least Florida Man combines stupid fun entertainment with incompetence and hubris, as opposed to depressing levels of corruption and idiocy.

Comes now Dr. Brenda C. Snipes, the key election official in Broward County, Florida has presided for the past 72 hours over a level of bureaucratic incompetence ‐ in the best spin of the situation ‐ or utter corruption in the worst when it comes to counting the ballots from her county.

Last night Governor and would-be Senator Rick Scott announced he was filing a lawsuit against her ‐ not one claiming anything about the ballots being counted, but simply demanding that she live up to the regulatory obligation to tell us how many ballots there are. Again, this is not a lawsuit about counting, just about knowing how many ballots you have left to count, which is required to be disclosed by law.

This demand to know the facts is being described by some Democrats as an attempt to prevent votes being counted. That’s how ridiculous the situation is.

Here’s the situation: Florida law 102.141 4(b) details the process by which ballots shall be counted, and it requires that within 30 minutes of polls closing, you publish an estimated count of the ballots in hand, regularly updated afterward. Every other county in Florida other than Broward has done this. Broward’s Dr. Snipes has not. Local journalists have shouted questions at her, and the local officials have demured or said she was too busy or said she was "taking a break".

In my humble opinion, "she’s taking a break" is the greatest bureaucratic incompetence excuse I have ever heard. The point is that Florida election officials will apparently tell you what they are required to tell you at a time of their choosing, not before.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Reveals Her Plan to Overthrow the Supreme Court
[PJ] On Saturday, Democratic Socialist starlet Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called for the abolition of the Electoral College. On Thursday, she revealed her plan to undermine the U.S. Supreme Court. It's not very original...

At a screening for Michael Moore's new film "Fahrenheit 11/9," a member of the audience asked Ocasio-Cortez what she would do if the Supreme Court confirmed all of Democrats' fears.

"If, in a few months from now, the Supreme Court looks like ... a court that would overturn Roe [v. Wade] and make the president above the rule of law, what is to be done?" the audience member asked. This question echoed one real concern (overturning Roe, which would allow states to outlaw abortion) and one false concern (taken from twisting Judge Brett Kavanaugh's record on presidential immunity).

Ocasio-Cortez, never one to defend American institutions at the risk of her activist ambitions, took a page from President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's book.

"I think we take back the House, we take back the Senate, we take back the presidency, and we pack the Supreme Court of the United States of America," she quipped. Then, as if this answer were clear and straightforward, she flippantly added, "Next!"

What The Hell? Broward And Palm Beach Counties Ignore Court Ruling On Vote Counts; UPDATE: Reporters Threatened?
[Townhall] What the hell is going on in the Sunshine State? The U.S. Senate race has become engulfed in controversy as suspicions are rising concerning why two of the most liberal counties in the state have yet to count all of their ballots. Republican Gov. Rick Scott has already claimed victory over incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson. Then, Broward and Palm Beach County decided to engage in some sketchy vote tabulation methods.

Counties that were hammered by Hurricane Michael have finished tallying their votes. Broward and Palm Beach are Democratic bastions that also happen to be the problem children in Florida elections. What’s taking so long? How man more ballots do they have to go? Why aren’t they giving regular updates on the vote tallies? These are questions Republicans would like to know, and something these counties should be posting on a regular basis. It’s the law.

Brenda Snipes Allowed Illegal Aliens and Felons to Vote; Illegally Destroyed Ballots
[Breitbart] Three statewide races in Florida are headed to a recount and all depend on results from a county whose supervisor of elections has a history of losing ballots and breaking laws by allowing illegal immigrants and felons to vote, as well as illegally destroying ballots.

Broward County supervisor of elections Brenda Snipes’ office has admitted "they don’t know" how many ballots there are still to count.

Snipes’ latest failure to finalize Tuesday’s election returns days after the polls closed is also in violation of Florida law, which requires elections officials to "report all early voting and all tabulated vote-by-mail results to the Department of State within 30 minutes after the polls close. Thereafter, the canvassing board shall report, with the exception of provisional ballot results, updated precinct election results to the department at least every 45 minutes until all results are completely reported."

This should alarm anyone hoping for fair and accurate election returns, as Snipes’ history in Broward is checkered with numerous examples of facilitating illegal voting practices.

In 2017, Dr. Snipes admitted in court that her office had allowed non-citizens and felons to vote and was particularly vulnerable ahead of major elections.

The counts should all be stopped.

The ballots should all be seized and put under armed guard whilst they are forensically examined.

Those running the ballots should be arrested and have the complete examination of bank accounts and communications.

Inevitably, corruption will be uncovered by the ton !!!

Do it now.

Government
DOJ and DHS Issue New Asylum Rule
[DOJ] Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen today announced an Interim Final Rule declaring that those aliens who contravene a presidential suspension or limitation on entry into the United States through the southern border with Mexico issued under section 212(f) or 215(a)(1) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) will be rendered ineligible for asylum.

The Acting Attorney General and the Secretary issued the following joint statement:

"Consistent with our immigration laws, the President has the broad authority to suspend or restrict the entry of aliens into the United States if he determines it to be in the national interest to do so. Today's rule applies this important principle to aliens who violate such a suspension or restriction regarding the southern border imposed by the President by invoking an express authority provided by Congress to restrict eligibility for asylum. Our asylum system is overwhelmed with too many meritless asylum claims from aliens who place a tremendous burden on our resources, preventing us from being able to expeditiously grant asylum to those who truly deserve it. Today, we are using the authority granted to us by Congress to bar aliens who violate a Presidential suspension of entry or other restriction from asylum eligibility."

Section 212(f) of the Immigration and INA states that "[w]henever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate."

Further, Section 215(a) of the INA states that it is "unlawful...for any alien to depart from or enter or attempt to depart from or enter the United States except under such reasonable rules, regulations, and orders, and subject to such limitations and exceptions as the President may prescribe."

In Section 208(d)(5)(B) of the INA, Congress specified that the Attorney General "may provide by regulation for any other conditions or limitations on the consideration of an application for asylum."

Today’s new rule applies to prospective presidential proclamations, and is not retroactive.

Asylum is a discretionary form of relief granted by the Executive Branch on a discretionary basis to those fleeing persecution on the basis of their race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. The rule does not render such aliens ineligible for withholding of removal under the INA or protection from removal under the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
SDF, coalition capture senior ISIS leader near Raqqa
[Rudaw] Kurdish-led forces reported arresting a senior ISIS leader Thursday evening near Raqqa.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) operation was done in coordination with the international coalition against ISIS, the SDF’s media officer Mustafa Bali stated.

Further details, including the identity of the person captured, will be released at a later date, the SDF announced.

The SDF gained control of Raqqa, the former capital of the so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, in October 2017 after months of fighting that left large portions of the city in ruins. They have struggled to secure the city, however, and ISIS sleeper cells are a daily threat.

The force suspended operations against ISIS in the Hajin area of the Euphrates River valley on October 31 after The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
carried out attacks against Kurdish positions in the Kobane region of Rojava, northern Syria.

According to a conflict monitor, the coalition and SDF have kept up their aerial bombardment against ISIS in the Hajin pocket, despite halting ground operations.

The SDF "escalated" shelling of ISIS positions while the coalition "continued intensive Arclight airstrikes," the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated on Thursday.

Coalition warplanes destroyed a number of ISIS supply routes and three command centres while the SDF destroyed a boom-mobile that was approaching their troops, the SDF’s media office stated on Friday.

The SDF have reportedly suffered many casualties recently as ISIS stepped up attacks, taking advantage of bad weather.

Bounties on PKK leaders a strange move by US
[Rudaw] This week the United States announced that it was offering a bounty of several million dollars for information leading to the arrest of three top Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leaders. A "bounty" of $5 million dollars was placed on People’s Defense Forces (HPG) leader Murat Karayilan, $4 million for Cemil Bayik, and $3 million for Duran Kalkan.

The bounties are part of the US State Department’s "Rewards for Justice" program. Established by the 1984 Act to Combat International Terrorism, the program states that "the Secretary of State may offer rewards for information that leads to the arrest or conviction of anyone who plans, commits, aids or attempts international terrorist acts against US persons or property, that prevents such acts from occurring in the first place, that leads to the identification or location of a key terrorist leader, or that disrupts terrorism financing."

The US State Department’s website claims that since the start of the program in 1984, "the United States has paid in excess of $125 million to more than 80 people who provided credible information that brought faceless myrmidons to justice or prevented acts of international terrorism worldwide. The program played a significant role in the arrest of international terrorist Ramzi Yusef, who was convicted in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Today, the Rewards for Justice Program continues to play a critical role in US counterterrorism initiatives around the globe."

Iraq
Peshmerga on alert for growing ISIS threat
[Rudaw] MOUNT QARACHOGH, Kurdistan Region - At a Peshmerga outpost on the top of Mount Qarachogh, near Makhmour, soldiers keep a close eye on ISIS bandidos Death Eaters known to be hiding out in caves nearby.

"Our intelligence has obtained knowledge that ISIS might attack us," said one Peshmerga on a foggy night on the mountaintop. "At night, ISIS controls all the villages at the base of Mount Qarachogh."

ISIS was declared defeated in Iraq 11 months ago and is supposed to be on its last legs in Syria. Yet intelligence sources estimate that the number of ISIS bandidos Death Eaters in Iraq has as much as doubled in recent months.

Some 300 ISIS bandidos Death Eaters are believed to be sheltering around Mount Qarachogh.

"There is a cave down the mountain. They are all ISIS," said a Peshmerga on watch duty. "They don’t come out during the day, hiding inside their caves. They are out at night."

The Peshmerga Ministry has intelligence that ISIS has reorganized itself in Iraq and their relations with bandidos Death Eaters in Syria have not been severed.

ISIS has capitalized on the rift between the Iraqi army and Peshmerga.

"Since the October 16 events and the coming of the Iraqi army and Hashd al-Shaabi to the region like Khanaqin, Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
Makhmour, and all the way to Shingal, we do not have any coordination with the Iraqi army and Shiite Hashd al-Shaabi," said Jamal Iminiki, Peshmerga chief of staff.

"Definitely there is a security gap from Khanaqin to Shingal, to west and south Kirkuk and Makhmour. This gap has not been successfully filled by the Iraqi army," he added.

The Peshmerga and international coalition carried out a joint operation against ISIS on Mount Qarachogh in July. They cleared 30 square kilometres of territory and destroyed caves and tunnels being used by the Death Eaters.

Makhmour is a disputed area that has been the security responsibility of the Iraqi security forces since the federal takeover of these areas on October 16.

The Grand Turk
Kurdish MP detained in Turkey goes on hunger strike
[Rudaw] A detained politician from the Ottoman Turkish parliament has gone on hunger strike after a court extended her detention in a hearing on Wednesday.

A Ottoman Turkish court in Diyarbakir ruled against the release of Leyla Guven, an MP for the Democratic Society Congress (DTK), in a hearing of her trial.

DTK ran on a joint list with the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in the June 24 election. Guven won a seat, but has not been sworn in due to her arrest.

She was tossed in the slammer
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
on January 31 after opposing The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire....
’s military offensive against the Kurdish enclave of Afrin in northern Syria.

HDP had appealed for her release in September, arguing she should be given the same consideration as a CHP politician who was released after being elected and, therefore, gaining parliamentary immunity.

Her lawyer, Reyhan Yalcindag-Baydemir, told Bianet new agency that Guven has gone on an "indefinite and irreversible hunger strike" to protest being denied a fair trial.

HDP’s former leaders, Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yuksekdag, are among the many party members and supporters in jail in Turkey. The party condemned the court’s decision on Wednesday.

"The Ottoman Turkish fascist
...anybody not a leftist...
government did not release Leyla Guven. We already did not have hope in this regard. The court had previously ordered her release, but after four hours another court dissolved the ruling. When it comes to Kurdish politicians, the court gives various orders," Berdan Ozturk told journalists in front of the court.

Guven and Ozturk are also co-chairs of the DTK.

Ozturk said Guven told the judge she did not regret her opposition to the Ottoman Turkish offensive on Afrin and stands opposed to military action against Kobane, where Turkey has shelled rural areas and made threats this past week.

"Guven said, ’I expressed my opposition to the Afrin operation, that’s why I’m here. If released, I will describe your operations in Kobane as an invasion,’" Ozturk recounted.

Guven attended the court hearing remotely via video after she refused to be handcuffed.

Prosecutors are demanding 31 years and six months jail for "propagating for a terrorist organization," referring to People’s Protection Units (YPG) in northern Syria ‐ considered by the Ottoman Turkish government as an extension of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Guven’s trial will continue on December 26.

Number of migrants, refugees from Venezuela reaches 3 million
[Al Jazeera] The exodus, driven by violence, hyperinflation and shortages of food amounts to around one in 12 of the population. The United Nations says there are now three million refugees and migrants from Venezuela who have left the country due to its crumbling economy, violence, hyperinflation and shortage of food and medicines.

The figure amounts to around one in 12 of the population.

Of the three million, 2.3 million have left Venezuela since 2015, according to United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) spokesman William Spindler who added that the exodus has accelerated in the past six months.

"The main increases continue to be reported in Colombia and Peru," Spindler said on Thursday.

More than one million refugees and migrants are in Colombia. Peru has more than half a million, Ecuador over 220,000, Argentina 130,000, Chile over 100,000 and Brazil 85,000, according to the UN.

In Colombia, there are around 3,000 arrivals each day, and the Bogota government says four million could be living there by 2021, costing it nearly $9bn.

Dennis Miller Compares Liberalism to a ‘Nude Beach:' ‘Sounds Good Until You Get There'
[Breitbart] Veteran comedian Dennis Miller told Jimmy Kimmel that liberalism is like a "nude beach," because it only sounds good in theory.

"I went to vote yesterday and I won’t even‐I live in a surf town, up the coast here from L.A., and they don’t even give you the sticker. You have to actually get ’I voted’ tattooed above your pubic mound," Dennis Miller told Kimmel.

"They’re tattooing people?" Kimmel responded, laughing.

"It’s a hell of a thing," Miller said.

Kimmel also questioned Miller on his conservative beliefs.

"You know, I was always a big fans of yours. And people, though, today are like ’What?’ I think people get upset because you’re conservative," the ABC talk show host said. "Because you’re a comedian. I think it’s weird for a comedian to be conservative. Unusual, I should say. What‐they say, what happened to you? What did happen to you, Dennis?"

Miller responded that he was "socially liberal," and said, "When I look at‐I was watching backstage. This is how interesting things are. When I watch Trump, he doesn’t rankle me like he rankles people on your side. There are days he’s a buffoon. There are days I can’t believe the stuff he says. But, today, when I watch that thing, I kind of laugh. I watch Pelosi and she drives me batty."

"Interesting," Kimmel said.

"And I know on your side, I think Pelosi’s kind of acceptable and she says stuff like that, that drives me more crazy," Miller said.

Texas Dem Celebrates Re-Election in Jail Cell
[Breitbart] A convicted Texas Democrat won his race for re-election on Tuesday to state House District 27 from behind bars.

KXAN reported that the victory celebration for inmate number 232573, who is better known as state Representative Ron Reynolds (D-Missouri City), took place in Pod 2 of the Montgomery County Jail after the incarcerated Democrat was declared the winner of the Houston-area suburb.

Reynolds ran unopposed in his race and was backed by Robert Francis "Beto" O’Rourke, the Texas Democratic U.S. Representative who sought to unseat Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).

On September 7, 2018, Reynolds (D-Missouri City) was booked into the county jail. He is serving a year-long sentence after a 2015 conviction on multiple misdemeanor counts for illegally soliciting clients from a chiropractic firm to his law practice.

At the time of his conviction, a county judge ordered the sitting state representative to go to jail but Reynolds spent the next three years appealing the conviction. Ultimately, the court rejected him.

Then, in 2016, as a consequence of his conviction, Reynolds was disbarred from practicing law. However, because the crimes were misdemeanors, Reynolds did not have to step down from role as an elected official.

[IsraelTimes] While Israel gives approval for first $15 million to enter Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",-ruled Strip, Liberman slams move as ’capitulation to terrorism’; border festivities continue despite deal

Paleostinian civil servants formed long lines in Gazoo on Friday to receive Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
i-funded salaries, as part of efforts to ease tensions in and around the impoverished territory, even as the Paleostinian Authority slammed the envoy who brought in the suitcases of cash as a "gangster" and a "smuggler."

A total of $90 million is to be distributed in six monthly installments of $15 million, according to authorities, primarily to cover salaries of officials working for Hamas, the Islamist terror group that rules the Paleostinian enclave.

Some exited post offices, where the first payment was being distributed, to show off hundred-dollar bills before the cameras, after several months of sporadic salary payments in cash-strapped Gazoo.

"I came to collect $400, my salary for July," Fadi Abu Safia, a 35-year-old government employee, said at a post office in Gazoo City.

Mohammed Abed al-Hadi, 27, said he would be collecting 700 shekels ($190 dollars), "quite a sum considering the conditions we’re living in", as compensation for an injury in the border festivities.

The cash was driven into the Paleostinian enclave through Israel late Thursday by Qatar’s envoy to Gazoo, Mohammad al-Emadi, according to a government source in Gazoo.

Qatar has also said it would hand out $100 to each of 50,000 poor families, as well as larger sums to Paleostinians maimed in festivities along Gazoo’s border with Israel.

The Israeli-authorized money transfer appeared to be part of a deal that would see cash-strapped Hamas end months of often violent protests along the border in exchange for Israel easing parts of its blockade of Gazoo.

Despite the deal, there were still protests along the border Friday, although smaller than in previous weeks. In one case, demonstrators threw stones at the convoy of al-Emadi who toured the border area.

Reports said the Paleostinians also threw several bombs at IDF soldiers and two men tried to breach the border. The army responded with tear gas and riot dispersal means. At least one Paleostinian was killed and 37 Paleostinians maimed, the Hamas-run Gazoo health ministry said.

Senior Paleostine Liberation Organization official Ahmed Majdalani expressed the anger of the West Bank-based Paleostinian Authority over the deal.

Emadi had "smuggled the money" into Gazoo in suitcases like a "gangster," the official said.

"The PLO did not agree to the deal facilitating the money to Hamas that way," Majdalani, who is close to Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
, told AFP.

Such a deal harmed Egyptian efforts to reconcile Hamas and the PA and would allow the terror group to consolidate its control over Gazoo, Majdalani said.

In another Israeli-approved deal, Qatar has started buying additional fuel for Gazoo’s sole power station, allowing planned outages to be reduced to their lowest level in recent years.

Egypt and the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
have been brokering indirect negotiations for a long-term truce with Israel, with which Hamas has fought three wars since 2008.

Touring the protests Friday, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar denied there was a deal with Israel, but said Hamas was working with the UN, Egypt and Qatar to end the blockade.

#1  From Wikipedia

In 2010, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation reported that anti-Semitism was common among Norwegian Muslims. Teachers at schools with large shares of Muslims reported that Muslim students often "praise or admire Adolf Hitler for his killing of Jews", that "Jew-hate is legitimate within vast groups of Muslim students" and that "Muslims laugh or command [teachers] to stop when trying to educate about the Holocaust". One Jewish father also told how his child, after school, had been taken by a Muslim mob, "to be taken out to the forest and hanged because he was a Jew".[23] The child escaped. But apparently Antisemitism appears also among the rest of the Norwegian population, as it is reflected in antisemitic graffiti that was sprayed on a school and sports facility in Skien on August 2014.[24] Later that year a swastika was carved into the glass doors of the Trøndelag Theater the day after the premiere of a Jewish puppet theater performance.[25] On October 2014 a Jewish cemetery was vandalized in Trondheim with sprayed marks and the word "Führer" scribbled on the chapel.[26]

LHC to hear treason case against Khadim Rizvi, Fazlur Rehman on Nov 12
[DAWN] The Lahore High Court on Friday accepted an application for hearing in which the petitioner has asked for the initiation of treason proceedings against Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi and the chief of the Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam
...the political wing of the Pak Taliban...
-Fazl, Maulana Fazlur Rehman
Deobandi holy man, known as Mullah Diesel during the war against the Soviets, his sympathies for the Taliban have never been tempered by honesty ...
, over charges of issuing anti-state statements and inciting people to violence.

Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, while accepting the petition, filed by Advocate Syed Mohammad on behalf of Shabeerullah, has set the case for hearing on November 12 (Monday).

In his application, the petitioner has argued that Rizvi and Rehman criticised the apex court’s judgement in the Aisa Bibi case, issued anti-state and anti-military statements and incited people to violence and should thus be prosecuted under the law.

Following their statements, the country was held hostage for three days which was tantamount to "making an attempt to suspend the Constitution", the petitioner has pleaded.

Earlier on Thursday, a sessions court in Lahore had fixed for hearing a petition against police officials for their failure to register a case against Khadim Rizvi, Tehrik-e-Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYRA) head Ashraf Jalali and others for threatening the top judiciary and inciting the armed forces to stage a mutiny in the aftermath of Aasia Bibi's acquittal.

Filed by citizen Abdullah Malik, the petition stated that the station house officer (SHO) of Civil Lines cop shoppe in Lahore had failed to file a first information report (FIR) against the aforementioned individuals.

‘I'll Never Be the Same': My Ukrainian Wife's First Trip to the United States
[Daily Signal] Celebrate and thank your Veterans this weekend. They make life better around the world. Except for bad guys - F*ck the bad guys.
KYIV, Ukraine‐How do you measure America’s greatness?

By the size of its economy, or the strength of its military?

By the height of its city skylines, or the audacity of the moon landings?

Perhaps, by the heroism of the Marines who landed on Iwo Jima, or of the Army soldiers who landed on Omaha Beach?

Maybe. But America’s greatness is not always measured like in the movies or a campaign speech. Sometimes, an anonymous act of gratitude is proof enough, even if we, as Americans, don’t always see it that way.

Somalia: At least 20 killed in Mogadishu explosions, gunfire
[Al Jazeera] At least 20 people have been killed and 17 injured in kabooms followed by heavy gunfire in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, according to police.

Initially, "two blasts struck the perimeter of the Sahafi Hotel along the main road," Ibrahim Mohammed, police official, was quoted as saying by the AFP news agency.

A third kaboom later hit the busy street, according to witnesses.

Although the attackers "failed to access the hotel, the blasts outside the hotel killed many people," police captain Mohammed Hussein told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named news agency.

US airstrikes on Syria kill 26 civilians, mostly women, children
[PRESSTV] The US-led coalition’s Arclight airstrikes on Dayr al-Zawr,

eastern Syria, killed 26 civilians, including 14 children, on Friday morning, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

According to the war monitor, the civilians, including 14 children and nine women, were all members of ISIS families.
Ah. The mixup is explained — those aren’t civilians, they’re assigned human shields giving their blood for Allah and the cause.
The airstrikes reportedly targeted a ISIS hideout in the town of Hajin, located along the Euphrates River, south of Dayr al-Zawr.

The coalition’s raids earlier killed another seven civilians in the nearby village of al-Shaafa on Thursday, Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman.

Hajin’s civilians were also targeted by the airstrikes of the so-called military coalition’s fighter jets last Saturday, when 15 people, mostly women and kiddies, were killed.

Bashar al-Ja'afari confirmed at a UN Security Council meeting that the US-led coalition had once again used white phosphorus bombs against Hajin.

rebels, according to the country's internationally recognised government.

"A military operation has begun and the national army forces have advanced towards the north and the western sides of the city of Hodeidah, progressing from all front with the support of the Arab coalition," the Aden-based government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi said in a statement on Friday.

"Fierce battles are taking place at these moments," it added.

Friday's statement came after several days of fighting as pro-government forces closed in on Houthi positions in the city centre.

At least 110 rebels and 22 pro-government troops were killed during battles in the past 24 hours, local medical sources told the AFP news agency on Friday.

The latest fatalities took the total number of fighters from both sides killed since November 1, when the battle for Hodeidah intensified, to 382.

There was no immediate comment on the government's statement from the rebels, who have been controlling Hodeidah since 2014, the same year they also seized Yemen's capital, Sanaa.

Nigeria: Outrage As Government Claims Feeding El-Zakzaky With N3.5m Monthly
[All Africa] The Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed sent the Internet buzzing yesterday when he claimed the Nigerian government spends about N3.5 million monthly to feed detained leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) Ibrahim El-Zakzaky. The Shiite holy man has been in jug since December 2015 after soldiers clamped down on his supporters killing dozens of them.

In a video that went viral, Mohammed, who was apparently addressing some journalists, said he was giving the information in an off-the-record basis, to serve as a background to their reports. He said it was wrong to compare what was happening to El-Zakzaky, whose followers have been confronting security agents since his incarceration, with what befell the late leader Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
leader, Mohammed Yusuf. He said the IMN leader was undergoing criminal prosecution in Kaduna State and that the court had denied him bail. He explained that instead of detaining him in a prison, the Federal Government decided to hold El-Zakzaky in a building belonging to the Department of State Services. The holy man eats whatever he likes in detention, he said, noting: "It costs the government about N3.5m every month to feed him."

Mohammed claimed he got the figure from relevant government agencies, describing the IMN issue as "sensitive."The television station that released the clip has since apologised to the minister. But human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
activist, Femi Falana, criticised Mohammed's disclosure, saying: "It is money poured down the drain." He added: "Since the army had demolished their house the court ordered that a house be provided for them. A government that has brazenly disregarded these valid and subsisting orders of a competent court is now insulting the collective intelligence of Nigerians by claiming that it is spending N3.5 million to feed the couple in the illegal custody of the DSS."

Gowdy: Acting AG Could Appoint a Second Special Counsel to Investigate SpyGate
I’ve heard that elections have consequences...
[PJ] Outgoing Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) on Wednesday evening said that there is a chance that acting attorney general Matthew Whitaker will appoint a special counsel to investigate the Obama administration for espionage abuses against the Trump campaign. Congressional Republicans called for the appointment of a second special counsel to investigate alleged misconduct at the FBI and Justice Department back in May, but Attorney General Jeff Sessions denied the request.

Gowdy told Fox News "Special Report" host Brett Baier that he wasn't surprised that Sessions was asked to step down, but added that he didn't know it would happen "before all the votes had been counted."

"It was going to happen... he's been a proverbial dead man walking for several months now," Gowdy said.

Baier asked the congressman for his reaction to Senator Schumer, who said earlier in the day that any attorney general Trump nominates should not be able to interfere with the Mueller probe in any way.

Gowdy answered: "Every prosecutor has jurisdictional boundaries. I don't know a single prosecutor that does not and Mueller's jurisdictional boundaries were set by Rod Rosenstein in the memo that you have seen, and they were altered or amended in the memo that we have not seen. But there's never been a prosecutor that just had unfettered power to go investigate whatever the heck he or she wanted to do."

#1  Special counsels drag out for a long time. It would have to investigate some of those on Mueller's special counsel.

Much is already known about spygate. Why not Just turn over much of this evidence now to a grand jury or military tribunal? But for a few firings and resignations in the DOJ and the FBI little has happened in the way of justice. When one considers the magnitude of what was done to this country by "the great fundamental transformation" of the last administration, the pace of justice seems glacial. No one has gone to jail. All the arrogant arses who have perpetrated crimes against the U.S. are still running around free.

[DAWN] The Supreme Court on Friday issued a stay order against the Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. High Court's (PHC) acquittal of 68 snuffies who had been convicted by military courts.

A two-member bench of the SC headed by Justice Azmat Saeed also ordered the jail superintendent to halt the release of the accused.

The accused had received varying sentences, including death, in a number of cases. The PHC had recently overturned the military court sentences on the basis of a lack of evidence. The Defence Ministry had subsequently filed appeals against the PHC's decision.

Additional Attorney General Sajid Ilyas Bhatti on Friday said that the PHC had not taken an accurate review of the facts.

He said that the accused were involved in crimes such as terrorism and asked that the military court sentences be restored.

The top court on Friday issued notices to all the parties involved and adjourned the case indefinitely.

Houston Chronicle Retracts 8 Stories After Fraud Investigation: ‘We Apologize to Our Readers’
[THEWRAP] The Houston Chronicle announced Thursday that they had retracted eight stories after an internal investigation found they relied heavily on sources who seemingly did not exist.

"The relationship between a newspaper and its readers is one of trust," said Chronicle executive editor Nancy Barnes in a piece explaining the decision. "This investigation points to an egregious breach of that trust that is an offense to readers and journalists alike. We apologize to our readers, and to the Houston community."

"We will be correcting or retracting all of the affected stories in order to set the record straight to the best of our ability, as I promised when this was first brought to my attention," she added.

In September, the Texas daily was rocked by scandal after questions were raised about the reporting of Austin bureau chief Mike Ward. A lengthy investigation was unable to identity a number of sources Ward quoted on the record for his stories. He ultimately resigned from the paper after being confronted by Barnes.

The Chronicle then began an extensive effort to investigate all of Ward’s reporting to identify if there were any other instances of phony sourcing during his career there. The paper brought in Pulitzer Prize winner David Wood to lead the effort. The results of his investigation led to the the paper’s decision to retract the stories.

"Of the 275 people quoted, 122, or 44 percent, could not be found. Those 122 people appeared in 72 stories," said Wood. "It’s impossible to prove that these people do not exist, only that with extensive research and digging, the team could not find them. And in this age of online records, including property ownership and court filings, almost everyone can be found quickly."

#9  Houston, we have a problem. The perils of straight-ticket voting were on full display Tuesday in Harris County. Houston voters threw out the bums, and the best, too. Hours after losing his bid for re-election, a Harris County, Texas judge released almost all the youthful defendants who appeared in front of him, apparently saying it was what voters wanted. Devlin and the county’s other two juvenile judges – all Republicans – were ousted from their seats in favor of Democrats on Tuesday by at least 10-point spreads. In all, Democrats swept 59 local Texas courts.

The newly elected Harris County clerk plans to phase out the county’s eSlate voting machines, which have occasionally caused problems for voters. Diane Trautman, who beat the incumbent in the countywide sweep of Democrats, also wants to improve the county’s elections technology so voters can cast ballots in any precinct on Election Day. Currently, residents are allowed to vote at any polling place during early voting, but must use a designated location on Election Day. “We must replace the current electronic machines with an electronic machine that produces a verifiable paper trail,” Trautman said. “The problem, of course, is the funding.”

Soros money to overhaul criminal justice system went off without a hitch in Houston. Fraudulent funding is never in short supply.

Judge Rules In Gov. Scott’s Favor In Broward Elections Records Request
[MIAMI.CBSLOCAL] A Broward County Judge has ruled in favor of Gov. Rick Scott and says Broward Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes must “allow immediate” viewing and copying of records that have been requested.

The judge added that it must be completed by 7 p.m.

The lawsuit in Broward filed against Snipes claimed that her office was withholding crucial voter information and has blocked access to the office. At the emergency hearing on Friday, Scott’s lawyers said this was a “simple” public records request case about access to Broward ballots, figuring out who voted, how they voted and how many votes have yet to be counted. They added that it’s not about how votes are counted or inspecting ballots.

“This information Supervisor of Elections should have already compiled and saved,” he added, “It should take 10 minutes to do.”

VIDEO: Norwegian Frigate Intentionally Grounded After Collision with Tanker
[USNI] A warship is grounded at the edge of a fjord near the southwest coast of Norway after an early morning collision with an oil tanker on Thursday, NATO officials said.

Royal Norwegian Navy frigate HNoMS Helge Ingstad (F313) collided with the Malta-flagged oil tanker Sola TS at around 4 a.m. local time on Thursday (10 p.m. EST Wednesday) near the Equinor’s Sture oil terminal. The collision resulted in eight minor injuries on the warship.

Officials now are racing to save Helge Ingstad from sinking into the deep water just off the rocky edge of the fjord, after tugs pushed the 5,0000-ton frigate ashore to prevent the ship from sinking while the crew of 137 was evacuated.

The 'world's first' A.I. news anchor has gone live in China
[CNBC] A TV anchor has joined a Chinese news agency, but with a twist: he isn't human. China's state-run Xinhua News Agency has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) anchor, a move it claims to be a world first.

"English AI Anchor" debuted Thursday at the World Internet Conference in the country's eastern Zhejiang Province.

Modeled on the agency's Zhang Zhao presenter, the new anchor learns from live videos and is able to work 24 hours a day, reporting via social media and on the Xinhua website. "'He' learns from live broadcasting videos by himself and can read texts as naturally as a professional news anchor," the company said in an online statement.

Thousand Oaks Gunman's High School Coach Speaks About Sexual Assault (video)
NEWBURY PARK (CBSLA) ‐ The Thousand Oaks shooter’s high school track coach says that he assaulted her.

"I turned on the news and I was watching it and when they said his name my jaw just dropped," said Dominique Colell.

Ian David Long is the name this former high school coach hadn’t heard in a long time. But it’s one she never forgot.

"He attacked me. He attacked his high school track coach," said Colell. "Who does that?"

For the former Newbury Park High School track coach this day has been full of emotions ‐ from sadness to guilt. Because she never filed charges against Long after she says he assaulted her his senior year.

Colell says it happened during practice when someone found a phone and she was trying to figure out who it belonged to.

"Ian came up and started screaming at me that was his phone," said Colell. "He just started grabbing me. He groped my stomach. He groped my butt. I pushed him off me and said after that ‐ ’you’re off the team.’ "

Palestinian infiltrates from Gaza, sets greenhouse on fire in Israeli community
[IsraelTimes] A Paleostinian man managed to breach the Gazoo border fence on Friday and infiltrate several hundred meters into Israel, setting on fire a greenhouse in one of the communities near the border before being caught, the army said.

The man was not armed and was taken for interrogation by the Shin Bet Security service.

The IDF initially believed that the greenhouse, in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council area, was set on fire by a flare fired by soldiers looking for the man; however, he told his interrogators that he had set the fire.

The army was investigating how the man managed to evade IDF patrols and get so close to an Israeli community. Details of the incident were barred from publication by the IDF censor until he was caught.

The incident came during protests along the border in which some 12,000 Gazooks participated.

Reports said Paleostinians also threw several bombs at IDF soldiers and two men tried to breach the border before retreating. The army responded with tear gas and riot dispersal means. At least one Paleostinian was killed and 37 Paleostinians maimed, the Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw,-run Gazoo health ministry said.

ACLU files lawsuit to stop Trump's new asylum restrictions
[Al Jazeera] The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) said it was taking legal action to challenge President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's proclamation, which bans those crossing between official points of entry on the US southern border from receiving asylum.

The order, which lasts for an initial 90 days, was issued by Trump on Friday after the administration issued the new regulations on Thursday.

"Neither the president nor his cabinet can override the clear commands of our law, but that's exactly what they’re trying to do," the ACLU said in a tweet, adding: "We’ll see him in court."

The Trump administration says it is trying to restrict claims of asylum to official ports of entry, which are better resourced. However,
denial ain't just a river in Egypt...
the move is the latest by the Trump administration to restrict the ability to claim asylum or migrate to the US.

Earlier this year, the then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a "zero tolerance" policy, which included the separation of children from parents and criminal prosecutions for those caught crossing the border between official ports of entry. Trump was forced to end his administration's practice of separating families after public outcry.

Donald Trump: Authorities Investigating Possible Election Fraud in Florida
[Breitbart] President Donald Trump announced Thursday night that law enforcement was investigating possible election fraud in Florida after Gov. Rick Scott appeared to win his midterm senate race.

"Law Enforcement is looking into another big corruption scandal having to do with Election Fraud in #Broward and Palm Beach," Trump wrote on Twitter. "Florida voted for Rick Scott!"

Mysteriously, thousands of additional votes from Broward County continue to be tallied by an elections official who allegedly has a history of mishandling election ballots.

Sen. Marco Rubio sounded the alarm on Thursday.

"Democrat lawyers are descending on Florida," he wrote on Twitter. "They have been very clear they aren’t here to make sure every vote is counted. They are here to change the results of election and Broward is where they plan to do it."

Scott’s campaign has filed a lawsuit against election officials in Broward Country and Palm Beach County.

"I will not sit idly by while unethical liberals try to steal this election from the great people of Florida," Scott said in a late Thursday night press conference.

Ocasio-Cortez has no money for D.C. apt, blames 'class barrier'
[Wash Times] Newly elected congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ said her struggle with moving to Washington D.C. is indicative of a class barrier to political offices.

"There are many little ways in which our electoral system isn’t even designed (nor prepared) for working-class people to lead," she tweeted with a screenshot of a recent interview.

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez told The New York Times on Wednesday that going until January without a paycheck will make it hard to find an apartment in Washington, D.C.

"We’re kind of just dealing with the logistics of it day by day, but I’ve been just kind of squirreling away and then hoping that gets me to January," she told The Times.

In her tweet, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said she’s, "working it out."

The Democratic darling, a self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist, rode a wave of progressive enthusiasm that upset longtime New York Rep. Joe Crowley in the June primary, followed by her 64-point win over Republican Anthony Pappas on Tuesday.

Nigeria Leads in Piracy Attacks in Gulf of Guinea - Report
[All Africa] Despite efforts by the federal government to reduce the cases of piracy and banditry in Nigeria's territorial waters, the country still leads in pirates attack in the Gulf of Guinea in the first nine months of 2018, a report by the International Maritime Bureau (IMB) has revealed.

IMB in its latest quarterly report said a total of 156 incidents of piracy and armed robbery against ships were reported to its Piracy Reporting Centre in the first nine months of 2018 compared to 121 for the same period in 2017.

According to the IMB, "A total of 156 incidents of piracy and armed robbery against ships were reported to the IMB Piracy Reporting Centre (PRC) in the first nine months of 2018 compared to 121 for the same period in 2017.The 2018 figure is broken down as 107 vessels boarded, 32 attempted attacks, 13 vessels fired upon and four vessels hijacked -although no vessels were reported as hijacked in Q3 2018.This is first time since 1994when no vessel hijackings have been reported in two consecutive quarters.

"The number of crew held hostage (112) for the duration of the incident has increased in comparison to the same period in 2016 (110) and 2017 (80). The number of crew kidnappings has reduced from 49 in 2017 to 39 in 2018. It is noticeable that 37 of the 39-crew kidnapped for ransom globally, have occurred in the Gulf of Guinea region in seven separate incidents. Twenty-nine crew were kidnapped in four separate incidents off Nigeria -including 12 crew kidnapped from a bulk carrier underway 51nm SW of Bonny Island, Nigeria in September 2018."

It added: "Statistically, the Gulf of Guinea accounts for 57 of the 156 reported incidents. While most of these incidents have been reported in and around Nigeria (41), the Nigerian Navy has actively responded and dispatched patrol boats when incidents have been reported promptly. There has also been a noticeable increase in the number of vessels boarded at Takoradi anchorage, Ghana. No new incidents have been reported off the coast of Somalia in the third quarter. With the retreating of the SW monsoons this lull may change, and vessels are encouraged to continue to comply with all BMP5 recommendations."

Turkey orders 103 soldiers arrested in Gulen probe: Anadolu
I guess they finally finished processing the last lot.
[AlAhram] Ottoman Turkish prosecutors ordered the detention of 103 soldiers with suspected links to the U.S.-based Moslem holy man accused of orchestrating a failed coup in mid-2016, state-owned Anadolu news agency said on Friday.

Police have carried out regular sweeps against alleged supporters of the preacher Fethullah Gülen
... a Turkish preacher living in Pennsylvania whom the current govt of Turkey considers responsible for all the ills afflicting Turkey and possibly the entire world...
since the coup attempt of July 2016, in which 250 people were killed. Gulen denies involvement.

In the latest operation, in Istanbul and 31 other provinces, police have so far detained 74 people, Anadolu said.

The 103 suspects, all on active service, include colonels and lieutenant colonels, it said, adding that an investigation had shown they had communicated over fixed-line and pay telephones.

Authorities say members of the alleged Gulen network communicated via payphones.

Briefing the Senate Standing Committee on Interior, which met at the Parliament House, Brig Rizwan, in response to a question about unrest in Balochistan, said that before the FC was deployed, there were lots of issues, but now the situation had started improving.

He said that the FC had in a bid to help the locals constructed several shops and handed them over to the locals free of cost for doing business, while several other such steps were being taken.

He said that the FC had proposed a date processing plant in Punjgur, while several development works had also been carried out, such as hospitals and schools for the locals.

Brig Rizwan said that the insurgency in Balochistan had the support of vested interests.

Ethiopia police find mass grave of 200 people
[BBC] Police in Æthiopia say they have discovered a mass grave with 200 bodies near the border between the Somali and Oromia regions of the country.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced over the past year by violence there.

Local media reported that the grave was found during a probe into alleged atrocities committed by the former president of Æthiopia's Somali region.

Abdi Mohammed is awaiting trial over allegations he fuelled ethnic festivities.

A notorious regional security force known as the Liyu police is accused of carrying out killings in the area between the Somali and Oromia regions and it reported directly to the regional president.

The police are trying to identify the 200 bodies found.

Mr Mohammed was forced to resign in August and was nabbed

Florida Recount Finally Wraps Up, Al Gore Declared President
[Babylon Bee - That's SATIRE, Herb] As Florida finally wrapped up its contentious recount of the votes tallied in the recent midterm elections, a winner was finally declared: Al Gore is now the president of the United States.
Prince Albert
The recount process at long last found the "missing votes" that would have handed Gore the presidency back in 2000, making him the official president of the country.

"Well, it's about time," Gore said in his acceptance speech. "Thanks to all the fine people that made this happen. It really is too bad that the earth is going to be destroyed by fire by 2015--err, I mean, 2019, or else I could really savor my presidency."

Gore will be granted two terms as US president, ousting President Trump and canceling the 2020 election. "We just assume he would have won again and ushered in a liberal golden age," said an election official. "So he's got 8 years to reclaim his lost time. Make the most of it, Al, and great job. You deserve it!"

[DAWN] The Islamabad district administration has withdrawn orders for the arrest of 19 Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) leaders who were allegedly involved in violence during the three-day protests against the acquittal of Aasia Bibi last week, it emerged on Friday.

Trump threatens to revoke more reporters' press credentials
[Al Jazeera] US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
has threatened to revoke the credentials of more White House news hounds, doubling down in response to criticism of his administration's decision to revoke credentials for CNN correspondent Jim Acosta.

Speaking to news hounds outside the White House on Friday, Trump launched a tirade targeted at Acosta, calling him "unprofessional" and threatening others with having their credentials revoked.

"You have to treat the White House with respect, you have to treat the presidency with respect," Trump said, claiming the late Republican president, Ronald Reagan, would have acted similarly.

Trump also took a shot at CNN journalist, April Ryan, calling her "nasty" and a "loser".

The comments, the latest outbursts in Trump's long history of hostility towards the press, have drawn criticism from civil liberties groups.

In a tweet posted soon after Trump's comments, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) said: "This is a threat straight out of an authoritarian playbook."

Pen America also posted a tweet, in which it said: "President Trump's threat to revoke additional news hounds' White House access is deeply troubling.

"Denying press passes as a method of retaliation is a violation of the First Amendment."

Khashoggi killed for disclosing Saudi funding of anti-Iran TV channel: Guardian
[PRESSTV] Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was killed on October 2 in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, might have lost his life for disclosing Riyadh’s funding of an anti-Iran UK-based TV channel, the British daily Guardian suggests.

In a report on Oct. 2, the Guardian cited a source close to the Saudi government as saying that the anti-Iran London-based TV channel Iran International received an estimated $250m (£192m) from the Saudi royal court each year.
