Morons DHS Gives Somali Muslims Special Airport Security Tours Because They Felt Harassed And Profiled
The Obama administration gave Somali Muslims behind-the-scenes tours at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport -- the nation's 17th busiest in terms of passenger traffic -- after the group "complained to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson about feeling harassed and profiled." Johnson has been consistently failing in his department, which is a key part of U.S. counter-terrorism efforts; and engages our worst enemies in a well-practiced strategy of stealth jihadists of a victimology subterfuge.

"The special security tours not offered to any other group" followed round-table dialogue meetings with local Somali leaders to get their feedback for "modifications to practices that would allow for operations to be more culturally sensitive."
Maybe I should convert to Islam and have everyone bend over backwards to serve me.
Culturally sensitive? At the expense of public safety? Here's a little background about the Somalian community in Minnesota:

"The FBI and Congress have launched probes into the radicalization of the Somali American community in Minnesota. Al Shabaab recruits young men in local mosques and ships them off to train and fight in Somalia. Last fall the area's largest newspaper published a story confirming that Minnesota leads the nation in the number of people who have left or sought to leave the country to fight with terrorists aligned with ISIL or ISIS."

The round-table events and airport tours were organized by Abdirizak Farah, whose salary jumped from $89,033 to $130,453 in five years.

Britain
Britian May Brexit from French Reactor in England
The British government cast doubt on the future of a controversial 18-billion pound project to build Britain's first nuclear power plant in more than 20 years, pledging to review the deal just hours after the board of France's state-run utility gave the go-ahead.

U.K. Business and Energy Secretary Clark said the government would carefully consider the project before deciding on it in "early autumn." Critics have said the plan represents poor value for money for consumers, who will pay France billions of pounds in subsidies to operate the plant for 35 years.

Britain's new prime minister was non-committal about the project; predecessor David Cameron had enthusiastically backed the project, arguing construction would create jobs and allow Britain to meet its carbon reduction goals.
There's just something wrong about a French firm building a nuke in England so the Brits can get the carbon credits and make the EU happy. Maybe that was the way it was supposed to work.

Beyond Lawfare - Arson at Bakken Pipeline Sites
Three pieces of heavy equipment torched Sunday night in Iowa. The Dakota Access pipeline will cut diagonally across the state of Iowa, carrying North Dakota Bakken crude oil to a refinery in Illinois.

I can't copy/paste any of it. If you go to the link, you must take a survey to read. Answer the first question, "I didn't purchase any of those things last year".

Probably railroad supporters, or maybe Save-the-Planet types.

Texas College Students Plan To Protest 'Campus Carry' Gun Law With Dild0s
A new law that allows people to carry concealed handguns into most buildings on public college campuses takes effect today in Texas, and students are planning to protest by bringing some equally inappropriate -- but much less lethal -- objects into their classrooms: dildos.

Supporters of the so-called "campus carry" law claim it gives students and faculty the ability to protect themselves against mass shootings. Texas has allowed registered gun owners to carry concealed firearms on college campuses since 1995, but this is the first time that weapons will be allowed inside school buildings.

Ryan Short, a spokesperson for he pro-gun organization Come and Take It Texas, said in a statement that "gun-free zones have been proven dangerous and an invitation for criminals to find defenseless victims."

Jessica Jin, the founder of "Cocks Not Glocks," a student group at the University of Texas at Austin, doesn't see it that way.

"The purported benefits of this law are not worth the potential for accidents, suicides, escalating ordinary conflicts to deadly levels, or the brain drain of teachers who are either resigning or withdrawing their applications to the university," she said.

Jin's group is organizing a demonstration called "Campus Dildo Carry" on August 24, the first day of fall semester classes at the state's flagship public university, that she says will involve students carrying "a few thousand non-phallic sex toys to accurately reflect the 'concealed carry' aspect of this law, [and] about 500 very dick-like toys too."
And if you don't happen to have one, you can borrow one from Jin's collection.
Jin says the protesters will strap dildos to the outside of their backpacks and stroll into class "like nothing is different."

"It's to help people visualize how ridiculous it would look if everybody in our community were 'carrying' [a gun]," Jin said. "Hopefully the dildos will churn up the sense of shock and discomfort that people should feel about guns being everywhere."
Great! You can be part of the solution next time you have a campus shooter. You can go in first as part of Dildo Force. If that doesn't work the people with the nasty handguns can give it a go.
Under the new Texas law, university presidents are able to designate certain gun-free buildings, but a university governing board can veto those rules with a two-thirds majority vote. The law also restricts guns in on-campus residence halls, but according to a report by the Austin American-Statesman, visiting family members of students and university staff members are permitted to carry handguns into dormitories while they are passing through. Guns are also allowed in dining halls, lounges, and study areas, where students spend much of their time. Private schools are exempt from the campus carry law.

The campus carry law takes effect 50 years to the day after a mass shooting by Charles Whitman, a former Marine and engineering student at UT Austin. Whitman massacred 13 students and wounded 30 more with sniper fire after climbing a tower on the school's campus in 1966. Whitman was eventually shot and killed by an Austin police officer.

#3  Doesn't matter what you think, it matters what they think, and if they think it is making you uncomfortable, it does not matter if you are or not, and then they thus embolden themselves.

And the sweet, sweet virtue signaling.

Brain drain and certain uncomfortable students - I think trigglyjin has stumbled upon a solution to the collectivists at universities.

#7  It is both an age of sexual fetish and sexual discomfort.

The fetishes, here, are using humility and discretion as a weapon to peacefully bludgeon an idea with in this case passively and very little effort.

The discomforts, which is what I think happened to that reporter who went to a nude beach and was shocked that people looked at her, are tools of the fetishes who have bought into the slogans. I may say Bruce Jenner and be corrected with No, her name is now Caitlyn. The deal is not the name change; people change names and work under aliases all the time. This is a male, always will be no matter how many piercings and body augmentations or hormones pumped in which PETA would scream about if it were the cattle industry. And the more sincere, the more polite, the more the person has bought into this 2+2=5 the more insecurity one becomes in their general beliefs. Thus easier to influence and control.

Oh, and I see salt futures are down.

Voters love pelting ‘Hillary for Prison' float with water balloons at Iowa parade [VIDEO]
Iowa parade-goers got their chance to lob water balloons at an imprisoned Hillary Clinton on Saturday.

A float in the Arcadia Fire Department celebration parade included a man wearing a Hillary Clinton mask and an orange jumpsuit, standing in a makeshift prison cell. The float -- made out of chainlink -- carried the sign, "Hillary for Prison."

Volunteers handed out water balloons for people to throw, the Daily Times Herald reported.

Carroll County Democrats Chairman Tim Tracy was not happy about the float, telling the newspaper: "We saw a lot of children along the parade route. Children aren't politically savvy. It's sad to imagine that some of them may have been wondering why they were being mean to that lady and throwing things at her."

China-Japan-Koreas
B-1 bombers headed to Guam
The U.S. Air Force is sending bombers with thousands of hours of combat experience to Guam this week to bolster the U.S. military presence in the Asia-Pacific, the service says.

The B-1B Lancer bombers from the 34th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron dropped more than 2,000 "smart bombs" during more than 630 missions over Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan from January to July of 2015, officials at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam said. Those missions covered more than 7,000 hours of flight time.

"The B-1 units bring a unique perspective and years of repeated combat and operational experience from the Central Command theater to the Pacific," said a statement from Pacific Air Forces headquarters in Hawaii.

"With a large weapon capacity and exceptional standoff strike capability, the B-1 will provide U.S. Pacific Command and its regional allies and partners with a credible, strategic power projection platform," the statement said.

The B-1s, which are expected to arrive in Guam on Saturday, come to the region during a time of heightened tensions, mainly arising from territorial claims among China and other nations over islands in the South China Sea and missile tests from North Korea that on Wednesday saw one missile fall in waters that Japan considers part of its exclusive economic zone.

Anti-Islam party wins four seats in Australian National elections
[SouthAfricaToday] Anti-Islam party One Nation has won four seats in the Australian upper house – the senate – giving it an important balance-of-power position, final election results confirmed Thursday.

Four weeks after the July 2 national election, results have been finalized by the Australian Electoral Commission.

The One Nation party is lead by Pauline Hanson who was first elected to the parliament 20 years ago and who in her first speech said she believed Australia was in danger of being “swamped by Asians”.

Some of Hanson’s policies include stopping Muslim immigration, installing CCTV in mosques and schools, and banning the wearing of women’s burqa and niqab veils in public.

Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull was re-elected with a majority of just one seat in the lower house.

Turnbull is expected to face difficulties in passing legislation through the senate because he will need support from nine of the 11 senators who are either independents or belong to small parties like One Nation.

IS plans to hit US air bases in MidEast, warn Israelis who hacked into IS web group
[IsraelTimes] Israeli cyberintelligence group Intsights says it breached Telegram group run by jihadists, found list of US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Soddy Arabia to be attacked

The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
terror group has issued a specific call to leading activists to target air bases used by the US in Kuwait, Bahrain and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, an Israeli cyberintelligence company that claimed to have hacked the jihadist organization’s Telegram communication group warned on Wednesday.

Intsights, a Herzliya-based intelligence company, hacked into what it said is the Islamic State’s Telegram group on the dark web in which the organization’s operatives disseminate terror attack plans among 500 leading activists, according to a (Hebrew) report on Channel 10.

The Israeli company, which is run by former IDF intelligence officers, told the TV station the Islamic State uploads potential targets to the group, and in recent months some of the targets have been hit by individuals claiming allegiance to the terror organization.

One such target presaged in the Telegram group was the church in Normandy, La Belle France, where local priest Father Jacques Hamel, 85, was murdered by jihadists on July 26. The call to carry out the attack in Normandy was issued via the Telegram group a few months ago, said Intsights Alon Arvatz.

The team managed to infiltrate the covert group, and on Monday, said Arvatz, a list of "extremely specific targets" was published, "with a call to attack them." The list features numerous air fields used by the US Air Force, but with a number of "priority targets" highlighted in Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, he said. A map uploaded to the Telegram group pinpoints air force bases in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and other countries of Western Europe, as well as Israeli air force bases.

"Telegram is completely encrypted and there’s no fear (among its users) that someone will intercept the messages and understand what you wrote," Intsight co-founder Arvatz told Channel 10. The group it hacked is accessed by Islamic State members who in turn introduce fellow Islamic State members, he said. "I need to know someone who can vouch for me that I’m cleared for the group, and only then can I join."

The Intsight team did not detail how it managed to hack into the group. Arvatz said the group would doubtless be closed down now it had been exposed on Israeli television.

If the Israeli company indeed breached the much-vaunted encryption of Telegram’s communication channels, it would be the second known hack of its kind in a week. Earlier this week, Rooters reported that a group believed to be backed by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps hacked into Telegram accounts in Iran.

#2  Pious jihadis won't do anything until November 1

because now it's 3 consecutive holy months for not attacking

now it's propaganda time for the PR branch in the Western World and for us to get complacent

here it is

https://i.sli.mg/9vUma1.jpg

for those who don't know

Islam runs on a calendar that tracks the moon not the sun.

They have a 355 day year with 12 months.
It is now the year 1437 (which explains why Islamist theocrats are so primitive). It goes from 14 October 2015 to 2 October 2016

The Ist, 7th, 11th, and 12th months – are the "sacred" (no warfare) months of islam.

When those over, they kill the mushrikin – look out!

1st "sacred month" – muharram (14/10/15 – 12/11/15)

7th "sacred month" – Rajab (08/04/16-07/05/16)

11th "sacred month" – Dhu al-Qadah (04/08-01/09)

12th "sacred month" – Du al-Hijjah (02/09/2016-01/10/2016) Then it jumps back to

1st "sacred month" muharram of the next year, 1438: 02/10/2016 -31/10/2016

That is three months straight of (supposedly) banned war followed by month 2: safar which is a time to settle scores

Therefore, islamofascist attack season is september 13, 2015, to April 7 2016; 8 May to August 3, then November 1 onwards.

#3  fw1007

i think you misunderstand

the info you provided is based on 9:5 in the koran which states that when the sacred months are passed then you may slay them whereever you find them, etc.

from early in Islam, this was taken as meaning that moslems may not violate a peace treaty or a hudnuh during the sacred months but after doing so, Allah will forgive a muslim who breaks an oath made on the koran if the purpose is to kill infidels after the sacred months are past -- some say this only applies to offensive wars and infidels may be killed in any month if it is a defensive war

Caribbean-Latin America
Brazil ‘Drug Trafficking’ Arrest Turns Out to Be Hezbollah Member
[BREITBART] Brazilian authorities have announced the arrest of Lebanese Hezbollah member Fadi Hassan Nahba, wanted by Interpol for drug trafficking since 2013. Authorities admitted they did not know he was working with the jihadi terror group until he personally told them after his arrest this week.

Nahba, Brazilian outlet O Globo reports, was rounded up in Sao Paulo as part of a crackdown preceding the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, set to begin on Friday. Authorities had jugged
Please don't kill me!
him in 2003 for drug trafficking but ultimately released him; by 2013, he was wanted for deportation due to continued drug offenses.

After his arrest this week, Nahba confessed to being an active Hezbollah member, a fact Brazilian police appeared to have only been alerted to at that moment. "I talked to him directly, he told me that he spent two years serving the special Hezbollah forces in Leb. He had a vast knowledge of weapons and kabooms," Sergeant Geraldo Castro told Globo’s television network.

"We have been looking for him since May because he was wanted for drug traffic, not terrorism," police front man Augusto Roque admitted to Rooters. The news agency notes that a significant hurdle to investigating cases of potential Hezbollah membership is the fact that Brazil does not recognize the group as a terrorist organization.

Key Taliban leaders among 27 killed in Badakhshan clearing ops
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least 27 Taliban holy warriors including three key local leaders of the group were killed during clearing operations in northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan.

According to the local government officials, the Death Eaters were killed in Raghistan district during the "Kokcha 07′ clearance operation.

Provincial governor’s front man Ahmad Navid Frotan said the three key local Taliban leaders have been identified as Mawlavi Nasir Ahmad Farooqi, Fasihullah Sultani, and Mullah Samiullah Shamil.

He said at least 32 Death Eaters were also maimed during the operations and 12 villages were cleared from the Death Eaters presence.

Frotan further added that 2 security personnel also bit the dust and six others sustained injuries during the same operations but the local residents did not suffer any casualties.

The Talibs group however rejected the report regarding the heavy casualties of the group’s Death Eaters during the operations.

Badakhshan has been witnessing growing instability during the recent months as the Taliban group attempt to expand insurgency in northern and northeastern parts of the country.

The province also witnessed deadly attacks last year and a number of the districts were briefly captured by the Death Eaters while numerous Afghan security personnel bit the dust during the deadly festivities.

WATCH: Arabs in East Jerusalem shoot fireworks directly at police
Video can be seen at the link. The relationship between fireworks and missiles is clear.
[Ynet] The Jewish neighborhood of Ma'ale ha-Zeitim regularly comes under a barrage of stones, Molotov cocktail and fireworks from the Arab neighborhood of Ras al-Amud; but while violence continues, number of attacks on the decline.

While there has been a decline in the number of incidents, police still have to deal with serious violence in East Jerusalem, as can be seen in security cameras footage of coppers in Ma'ale ha-Zeitim being attacked with fireworks launched directly at them from Ras al-Amud.

The police responded to the shooting of the fireworks from the Arab neighborhood with crowd dispersal measures.

Police are operating in Ras al-Amud and other areas of East Jerusalem to stop the fireworks shooting by making arrests, finding and seizing firework stocks and targeting the merchants selling the fireworks to the perpetrators.

The residents of Ma'ale ha-Zeitim neighborhood, whose homes are adjacent to Ras al-Amud, have been suffering from barrages of stones and Molotov cocktails for years.
The times, they are a-changing.
The footage was captured by cameras installed by the residents dubbed "Anti-Terror TV," meant to help bring to light the violent attacks on the neighborhood.

"There has been a significant drop in the number of attacks compared to last year, but there are still stone-throwing and attacks on the residents," said Joshua Wander, a member of the Ma'ale ha-Zeitim security committee.

Fighting begins in Tripoli over ISIS flag
[Libya Herald] The appearance of a black Islamic State (IS) flag on a housing block on Tripoli’s Airport Road resulted in shooting this afternoon between supporters of the Benghazi Defence Brigades (BDB/Benghazi Saraya) and forces under the control of Abu Sleem warlord Abdul Ghani Kikli (better known as Ghneiwa), according to security sources in the city.

Some of the unfinished housing blocks along the road near Abu Sleem had been taken over by refugees from Kikla. These were more recently joined by families of fighters belonging to the Benghazi Revolutionary Shoura Council who had fled the city for Tripoli. They now support the BDB. Earlier today, some put up the black flag used by both IS and Ansar Al-Sharia on one of the buildings. It resulted in Ghneiwa’s fighters then shooting at it. The residents of the building managed to escape and there have been no injuries, the Libya Herald was told.

Formerly a supporter of Libya Dawn but now allegedly willing to support anyone who will pay him, Ghneiwa runs the area as a personal fiefdom. He currently is seen as deeply opposed to Misratan forces in the city. Yesterday, his forces joined in clashes at the Waha Bank in Ghut Shaal, an area he is trying to extend his influence over.

19 year old Somali with a Norwegian passport, came to England in 2002 -- when he was five, presumably with his parents. Reported as silently running through the crowd knifing people, then it took a number of policemen to tackle him and a taser to make him stop fighting them.

Like the Pakistanis, Somalis have an inbreeding problem -- so it is conceivable that he was schizophrenic/bipolar/depressed/autistic/mentally retarded, and likely that he could tick off more than one box. In terms of autism alone in the Somali population of Minneapolis, they suffer at a rate of one out of every 32, compared to one to 88 among Americans in general, and the autism is also more severe for Somalis compared to the general population.

And jihadi groomers look for people who are mentally unbalanced; they are easier to get to buy into the idea of jihad, and easier to get to run amok with a knife or put on a suicide vest.

Quite probably Little Mo's family have been looking for him because he wandered off, and it will turn out he's been spending a lot of time on the internet or with a friend from the mosque lately.

Houthi forces take over Gurab
[Asharq Al-Awsat] Saudi led Arab coalition aircraft targeted military supplies belonging to Houthi militias and those loyal to the ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh in the district of Hayfan, south Taiz.

Local witnesses told Asharq Al-Awsat that the raids carried out by the coalition targeted militia supplies in Azlah Al-Aarook which is in the district of Hayfan. The raids also destroyed a tank belonging to rebel militia which was stationed on the road between Dhabi Al-Aaboos and Al-Khazjah, and smoke could be seen emerging from the area that was targeted.

In the area of Gurab which is situated in west Taiz, local residents told Asharq Al-Awsat that “Rebel militia used weapons to force the people in the region to evacuate their homes under the pretext that the region was a military one that would be occupied by militias. They did this after taking control of it a few days ago. Their actions aimed to tighten the siege on the city and obstruct the admittance of anything and anyone, even patients coming from the rural areas of the province.”

Residents said Houthi militias and those loyal to Saleh have made the village “a military zone and have been stockpiling weapons in the region. They are also settling into people’s homes after expelling them”.

ISIS ‘weakening’ inside Iraqi city of Mosul: Pentagon
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] ISIS fighters inside the krazed killer group’s Iraqi stronghold of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
are "weakening" and showing signs of frustration ahead of a battle to recapture the city, a US military official said Wednesday.

Iraqi and Kurdish forces, backed by US-led coalition trainers and air power, have for months been edging toward Mosul, Iraq’s second city and home to two million people. ISIS has controlled it since June 2014.

"We see them weakening inside Mosul," said Colonel Chris Garver, a coalition front man. "We do see some indications that morale is lower."

For instance, senior commanders are executing subordinates for "failure on the battlefield," Garver said, adding that ISIS leaders are "not happy with where they are in Mosul."

Militants, concerned that city residents are communicating with Iraqi security forces, have started cutting off internet access.

The same thing happened in Fallujah and Ramadi before each of those cities was recaptured, Garver said.

Still, he cautioned, the eventual fight for Mosul ‐ which is expected to begin in the coming months - will not be easy.

"We still anticipate that somewhere between 5,000 or so fighters are inside Mosul," Garver said. "We’re still anticipating a tough fight."

Pakistan's comments on Burhan Wani reflect its attachment to terrorism: VK Singh
[FIRSTPOST] Amid continued tension in Kashmir, India on Wednesday said Pakistan's recent comments glorifying Hizbul 'commander' Burhan Wani reflected its continued attachment to terrorism and its usages as an instrument of state policy.

Replying to questions relating to Indo-Pak ties in Lok Sabha, MoS External Affairs VK Singh said Pakistan putting an end to "anti-India terrorism" emanating from its soil would allow it to move forward in ties with India.

Government has taken a number of initiatives for building a normal relationship with Pakistan and for addressing all outstanding issues, he said, adding progress in probe into Pathankot attack to bring the perpetrators to justice will contribute to a conducive climate.

Singh's comments came on a day Home Minister Rajnath Singh left for Pakistan to attend the Saarc Home Ministers' conference. The Minister said India has strongly rejected all attempts by Pakistan to interfere in its internal matters.

"Government has stated that Pakistan's recent official statements of glorification and support to the terrorist, who was a 'commander' in the banned terrorist organisation Hizbul Mujahideen and carried an amount of Rs 10 lakh on his head on account of heinous crimes, including murder of elected representatives of local bodies and security forces/personnel, reflect Pakistan's continued attachment to terrorism and its usages as an instrument of state policy," Singh said.

New underground concrete barrier to encircle Gaza, stop terror tunnels
[Ynet] The Ministry of Defense has issued tenders to several companies to build a concrete barrier extending several stories below ground to mitigate the threat of terror tunnels; the barriers will have sensors to detect digging, and will completely encircle Gazoo.

An underground barrier to defend against Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, attack tunnels is on the way following a call from the Defense Ministry for companies to bid to construct the new defensive line around the Gazoo Strip.

The closed tender has been submitted to 20 Israeli contracting companies. The first part of the defensive underground barrier will go along 10 kilometers of the Strip, with plans to extend the barrier around the entirety of the 60 kilometer border with Israel ‐ thereby completely encircling Gazoo.

The concrete barriers will extend several stories underground and will include above ground sections as well. Besides being used as a physical barrier against terror tunnels which cross into Israel, the sophisticated barrier will also be able to detect tunnel digging close to it, something which will enable the IDF to destroy these terror tunnels before they pose a threat.

Due to the sophistication of the project and the depth to which they will have to dig, Israeli contractors will require assistance from foreign corporations with experience in erecting underground barriers.

Several international companies have already refused to work with the Israeli companies due to political issues. A representative of one of these companies who even took part in a tour of the area said that his company decided at the last minute not to cooperate on the project due to political sensitivities. The ministry of defense meanwhile announced that it doesn't know of any instances of companies refusing to work with Israel due to political considerations on this manner.

Work is set to begin on these underground barriers in October 2016. The work will be divided between four Israeli companies, including Solel Boneh.

The new defensive line will cost more that NIS two billion,
...US $570 million...
and the first tenders which are to be issued will be worth several million shekels.

The barrier is supposed to end the tunnel threat once and for all, much like how Iron Dome has helped significantly reduce the number of rockets being shot by Hamas at the Israeli home front.

Other companied who have issued tenders are Rafael, Israel Aerospace Industries, Elta, and Ampers.

IS in Sinai threatens Israel, then kills two Egyptian conscripts
[IsraelTimes] A video purportedly by Egypt’s Islamic State affiliate
...formerly known as Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis
...Supporters of Jerusalem, the current pen name of al-Qaeda in the Sinai Peninsula...
has delivered a threat to Israel, saying the Jewish state will soon "pay a high price," a media watchdog group said on Tuesday.

Released on Monday, the 35-minute video titled "Desert Flame" also purports to show footage of alleged attacks by IS holy warriors against Egyptian security forces in the Sinai Peninsula, according to the US-based group Middle East Media Research Institute, which translated the clip.

Jihadists in the video accuse the Egyptian army of arresting and killing its fighters, and urge more foreigners to come join their ranks in an effort to "build the foundation of the Caliphate."

In the clip, the narrator claims that in light of Egypt’s "failure" to protect Israel from jihadist attacks from the Sinai Peninsula, "the Jews started protecting themselves by "strictly protecting [the border], recruiting agents, and [launching] Arclight airstrikes."

The voiceover then says: "Oh Jews, wait for us. The punishment [we have prepared for you] is severe and soon you will pay a high price."

The footage ends with kidnapped Egyptian servicemen Mohammad Abd Al-Raheem Al-Qalawi and Majdi Majdi Mas’ad being shot in the head.
Perhaps they're mad that Israel has sent drones across the border to shoot them, or that they've permitted the Egyptian army to bring in tanks...or possibly they're just bilious after a bad dinner.

NBC Quietly Scrubs ‘Discredited’ Smear of Bill Clinton Rape Accuser
[BREITBART] Following the receipt of a retraction demand, NBC News has quietly edited the Internet edition of a segment that aired on the highly-rated "Today Show" in which anchor Andrea Mitchell claimed Juanita Broaddrick’s rape accusation against Bill Clinton
...former Democratic president of the U.S. Bill was the second U.S. president to be impeached, the first to deny that oral sex was sex, the first to have difficulty with the definition of is...
had been "discredited."

After receiving the legal letter, penned by Broaddrick’s attorney and son, Kevin L. Hickey, NBC removed the word "discredited" from the network’s Internet version of Mitchell’s video report, Broaddrick and Hickey told this news hound. However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
NBC did not make any indication of the edit in the video or on the webpage that hosts it.

Nor did NBC fulfill Broaddrick’s request, which she says was communicated in the letter, for an apology from Mitchell on the "Today Show" as well as an acknowledgement on the show and on NBC’s website that there is no information that Broaddrick’s story has been discredited. Instead, a staffer from NBC informed Hickey that the "discredited" statement had been removed, Broaddrick and Hickey said.

"It is incredibly disappointing that NBC and Andrea Mitchell will not publicly apologize for this egregious error, especially considering that NBC has retroactively edited the online version of the story and taken out the word ’discredited,’" Hickey told Breitbart News.

"Why not now go the extra step, the morally right step, and publicly acknowledge the mistake and publicly apologize?" he said.

"My mom’s credibility was just fine for Lisa Myers and NBC when the story was initially aired. Nothing has changed. Yet NBC apparently thinks it is okay to disparage a victim like this and then do nothing to rectify the situation."

Five suspected militants killed in Chitral's Kalash valley
PESHAWAR: At least five foreign militants were killed in Chitral’s Kalash valley on Tuesday in an intelligence-based operation by security forces.

“Security forces spotted movement of militants from Afghanistan in the border area of Bumburate village of Kalsh valley,” said security officials.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a targeted operation in the area to hunt the militants, added the security officials.

“Five militants were killed in an exchange of fire, we also recovered heavy weapons from the militants after a search operation in the area,” confirmed the officials.

After the operation, security was increased in the area.

Earlier, militants from across the Afghan border continued their looting spree in the Kalash valley and herded away about 2,500 goats from a pasture in Birir.

In another attack on the Kalash community's shepherds, shepherds in the Bumburate valley had resisted the robbers and exchanged gunfire but the attackers captured two of them and killed them on the border.

People of the Kalash community live in the contiguous but segregated valleys of Bumburate, Birir and Rumbur in south Chitral and all of them border Nuristan.

The incidents of loot and plunder had spread fear among the residents of the valleys.

Southeast Asia
Jakarta proposes 3-nation land ops against Abu Sayyaf
[STRAITSTIMES] Indonesia has proposed joint security operations on land with Malaysia and the Philippines to pursue holy warriors who have taken Indonesian and Malaysian sailors hostage.

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mr Wiranto, yesterday said such joint land operations will complement the joint sea patrols the three countries have agreed to in their effort to tackle piracy and prevent other hostage-taking incidents.

Philippine-based Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...
holy warriors are behind a rash of kidnappings of Indonesian and Malaysian sailors in the seas between the southern Philippines, Malaysia's north-east Sabah state and Indonesia's Kalimantan and northern Sulawesi island.

"(The bad boys) launched their attacks at sea before bringing their hostages to land. What will happen if we don't have cooperation on the ground?" said Mr Wiranto, a former general, on Tuesday.

Mr Wiranto - who was appointed to his post last week - said he had raised the idea to Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu, who conveyed it to his Malaysian and Philippine counterparts at their trilateral defence ministers' meeting on maritime security in Bali, which ended on Tuesday.

Mr Wiranto admitted it would not be easy to carry out joint security operations on land as this would intrude on the Philippines' jurisdiction. But he said an agreement should be concluded first to ensure the "harmonious and well-coordinated implementation" of joint operations.

Afghanistan
How the Taliban helped the Islamic State’s rise in Afghanistan
[QZ] In IS terminology, its forces in Afghanistan are known as the Khorasan Province.

The ranks are made up of dissidents, holy warriors and defectors who have been squeezed out of the more established jihadi organizations and include Paks, Afghans and assorted international krazed killers. Its ameer, Hafiz Saeed Khan, hails from Pakistain’s tribal territory of Orakzai; he previously served as a particularly ruthless commander under Pak Taliban (TTP) leader Hakeemullah Masood, and has a track record of attacks on civilian targets and mosques.

As the TTP fell into disarray after Hakeemullah was killed in a drone strike, Saeed led a contingent of his Orakzai and Afridi tribal comrades into the Khorasan Province. Abdul Raheem Moslem Dost, an Afghan veteran of the US’s detention facility at Guantanamo Bay and one of the few figures to have cultivated an image as an intellectual, also joined Khorasan Province--but he recently parted company with the group once again, publicly rejecting its policy of targeting civilians.

[REUTERS] U.S. air strikes are easing the passage of Libyan forces as they seek to clear Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
from the holy warrior group's former North African stronghold of Sirte, a senior field commander said on Wednesday.

Mohammed Darat said the first strikes, which took place on Monday, had helped Libyan brigades under his command secure the Dollar residential neighborhood by targeting bully boyz who had been holding out on the district's edge.

Libya's U.N.-backed government requested the strikes nearly three months into a campaign that had slowed due to heavy casualties from sniper fire, mines and mortars.

"In the last two houses in this area we faced strong resistance so we asked (the U.S.) to hit that site," said Darat, speaking from a part of Dollar captured last week. "We moved back and they struck."

A U.S. defense official said there were five strikes on Monday and two on Tuesday. The Pentagon said the first targets included two tanks, construction and military vehicles and a rocket launcher.

The strikes were carried out by armed drones from Jordan and Marine Corps AV-8B Harriers from the USS Wasp, an assault ship located in the Mediterranean Sea, the U.S. official said, adding that intelligence-gathering drone flights were being operated from Sigonella air base in Sicily.

Losing Sirte would be a huge blow for Islamic State, which took control of the city midway along Libya's Mediterranean coastline last year. The group is already under pressure from U.S.-backed campaigns in Syria and Iraq.

Nicaragua’s President Ortega picks wife as his running mate
[NEWS.VICE] Nicaragua's President Daniel Ortega, who has so far governed the country for two decades, has chosen his controversial wife as his running mate for the country's next elections in November.

Rosario Murillo is already the government's spokeswoman, and the announcement that the also avid promoter of new age spirituality is now set to become vice president brought widespread accusations that the couple is trying to perpetuate itself in power.

The president, who is currently the only candidate in the election, has insisted that putting his wife on the ticket is proof of his commitment to equal rights.

"There was a discussion about who should be the vice president so that we can continue the good government in this country," he told news hounds and adoring crowds on Tuesday. "It had to be a woman and who better than comrade Rosario Murillo, who has carried out her duties, working at all hours of the day with efficiency, discipline, and dedication."

Ortega first governed Nicaragua after he led the Sandinista guerrillas to victory over the dictator Anastasio Somoza in 1979, weathering a US-backed war against him for most of the next decade until he lost elections in 1990. The former guerrilla later staged a spectacular comeback and won two consecutive presidential elections in 2006 and 2011.

But in recent years Nicaraguans have probably seen more of Murillo than of her husband, whose days as a romantic cult figure of the international left are long over.

As government spokeswoman she delivers a daily round up of news typically framed with a mixture of references to spiritual harmony and the Sandinista Revolution.

"This revolution in which women have participated shoulder to shoulder with men," Murillo told news hounds after she was named as vice presidential candidate. "This revolution that has opened the door to the full participation of women in all spaces, whether political, social or economic."

Austrian Chancellor suggests ending EU accession talks with Turkey
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern said on Wednesday that he would start a discussion among European heads of government to quit talks with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
about joining the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
because of the country’s democratic and economic deficits.

European leaders have voiced concern over Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s crackdown on suspected dissidents after a failed coup attempt month, identifying his idea of reintroducing the death penalty in Turkey as a red line barring accession to the EU.

Kern sharpened the critical rhetoric in an interview with Austrian broadcaster ORF.

"We are all well advised to now say we’re pressing the reset button," he said, calling accession talks a "diplomatic fiction".

"We know that the democratic standards are clearly not sufficient to justify (Turkey’s) accession ... The economic question is at least just as significant because the Turkish economy is too far from the European average."

When asked whether Austria will table a proposal to stop accession talks at a European council meeting on Sept. 16, Kern said Austria would "start a discussion about this. We will ask for an alternative concept."

Peshawar water sample tests positive for poliovirus
[DAWN] PESHAWAR: The testing of environmental water sample positive for polio
...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set...

...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
has triggered investigations to find out the causes of presence of the virus in water that remained free of virus for two consecutive months, according to sources.

The water sample was tested negative twice in the months of May and June in Shaheen Moslem Town, but it tested positive in July. The health department wants to identify the causes of transportation of the virus and its carriers in the city.

The World Health Organisation has been collecting environmental samples from Shaheen Moslem Town, Larama and Dhando Pul areas from sewerage sites in Peshawar to see presence of poliovirus on monthly basis.

Sample from Shaheen Moslem Town tested negative last month after staying positive since November last year.

"The health department is upset and concerned over presence of poliovirus in the water," said sources. The samples from the two other areas have already been tested negative for poliovirus during the past one year.

[DAWN] SWABI: A police constable and a Lion of Islam belonging to the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) were killed, while two coppers were maimed in an encounter in mountainous Gadoon Amazai region here on Tuesday, Swabi District Police Officer Javid Iqbal told Dawn.

He said the police were conducting a search operation in Dadoo village in the jurisdiction of Utla cop shoppe, that a wanted outlaw identified as Anwar Saeed opened indiscriminate fire on seeing the police personnel. He said the coppers returned the shots, which triggered a shootout. The DPO said that the outlaw was using his mother as human shield.

In the exchange of fire, constable Javid Khan, belonging to Sheikh Jana village was killed, said a policeman, who was part of the operation, told Dawn.

Police officials finally rubbed out the outlaw, while his two brothers surrendered to police, DPO Javid Iqbal said, adding the tossed in the clink

Car bombing in Benghazi kills 23 people
CAIRO: A suicide car bomb attack in the eastern city of Benghazi targeting Libyan troops killed 23 people and wounded dozens of others Tuesday, a hospital official said.

The official said the wounded were still arriving at the hospital in the aftermath of the bombing in the Al-Qawarsha district on the outskirts of the city, Libya’s second largest. For the past two years, fighting has been raging in Benghazi between forces under the command of Brig. Gen. Khalifa Hifter and Islamic militias.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press.

A coalition of Islamist militias called the Shoura Council of Benghazi Revolutionaries, which includes the Al-Qaeda affiliate known as Ansar Al-Shariah, claimed responsibility for the deadly attack in a statement posted on its Twitter account.

The attack comes after the United States started an air campaign on Monday in the central city of Sirte, the last bastion of the Islamic State extremist group in Libya. The strikes followed a request made by the internationally-recognized government and presidency council in the capital, Tripoli. The two executive bodies were formed after the United Nations brokered a deal among Libya’s rival factions.

Libya has descended into chaos following the 2011 ouster and the killing of longtime dictator Muammar Qaddafi. Since 2014, the country has been divided between two governments and parliaments, and a loose set of militias and tribes. The UN-brokered government led by Fayez Serraj aimed at healing the rift, but a crucial vote of confidence has yet to be obtained from the parliament.

The parliament in eastern Libya does not recognize the UN government, and many in the east are angry that Serraj’s administration invited foreign military intervention without the eastern parliament’s consent.

The US airstrikes, which were authorized by President Barack Obama, are supporting the militias of Misrata, a city next to Sirte that is leading the anti IS-operation. Misrata forces have been battling IS since May in fierce fighting that has killed and injured hundreds of militiamen.

Three militants die in Kech gunfight
QUETTA: Three suspected militants were killed in a gunbattle with security forces in Hoshab area of Kech district, a spokesman for Frontier Corps said here on Tuesday.

He said seven suspected militants were taken into custody after the gunbattle. The FC personnel destroyed four hideouts of the militants after seizing a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from there, he added.

Officials said that the paramilitary troops along with the personnel of an intelligence agency conducted a joint search operation in Hoshab’s mountainous area called Kulwa on Monday’s night after receiving information about the presence of militants.

They said when the personnel after cordoning off the area were moving towards the hideouts the militants opened fire on them from inside. The personnel returned fire and an exchange of fire between them continued for several hours.

FC spokesman Khan Wasey said the militants belonged to the banned Baloch Liberation Army. He said one of the dead militants, Akhtar Nadeem, was the local leader of the group.

He claimed that the militants killed in the gunbattle were involved in target killings, attacks on the convoys of security forces, kidnapping and creating hurdles in the construction work on highways.

The weapons seized from the hideouts included four rifles, two sub-machineguns, three shotguns and thousands of rounds. Anti-state literatures were also found in the hideouts.

ISIS detains 50 for smokin' and jokin'

[ARA News] DAMASCUS – Militants of the Islamic State (ISIS) have arrested more than 50 people in the Yarmouk district south of the Syrian capital Damascus on charges of “smoking”, activists reported on Thursday.

“ISIS jihadis launched a new campaign of arrests among the residents of Yarmouk area and captured more than 50 men for smoking,” media activist Mazin al-Shami told ARA News in Damascus.

“ISIS is expected to publicly flog the arrestees soon, as it usually does to smokers,” al-Shami said.

The Islamic State has banned smoking in areas under its control in Syria and Iraq. Anyone captured smoking is being detained and flogged on charges of violating the group’s regulations.

Although ISIS has recently suffered heavy losses due to fighting with Syrian rebel factions in Damascus, the group still holds control of some parts of Yarmouk district –mostly inhabited by Palestinian refugees– and forces people to abide by its rules.

Iran executes 29 Kurds in Tehran

[ARA News] ERBIL – The Iranian authorities executed a number of Kurdish activists accused of involvement in terrorist activities, local sources said on Wednesday.

Human rights activists in the Iranian capital Tehran told ARA News that 29 Kurdish political activists, who have been held for months in the Raja’i prison in Tehran, were executed on charges of terrorism.

The victims were publicly hanged to death on Wednesday.

“They were convicted on terrorism charges because of participating in political activities against the Iranian regime,” rights activist Riyad Othman told ARA News.

This comes just two weeks after Iranian security forces arrested over 40 young activists, and executed at least 27 of them.

“The authorities did not announce the real reason behind the execution of those people. It said they were a group of drug dealers, but this is a baseless charge fabricated to misguide international rights organisations. The victims were political activists and most of them were Kurds,” Iranian Kurdish politician Enwer Mohamadi said.

“We continue to witness these brutal executions in the streets of Iran, while the international community remains unable to take action against this totalitarian regime,” Mohamadi told ARA News.

The Iranian regime has executed dozens of opposition activists across the country by hanging them to death in public squares, according to local sources.

In the meantime, several human rights organisations condemned brutal practices by the Iranian authorities, especially the public execution of opposition figures and civil rights activities.

According to reports, the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has executed at least 2500 people in the past two years.

US sent plane with $400 million in cash to Iran
[CNN] The B.O. regime secretly arranged a plane delivery of $400 million in cash on the same day Iran released four American prisoners and formally implemented the nuclear deal, US officials confirmed Wednesday.

President Barack Obama
It’s very rare that I come to an event where I’m like the fifth- or sixth-most interesting person....
approved the $400 million transfer, which he had announced in January as part of the Iran nuclear deal. The money was flown into Iran on wooden pallets stacked with Swiss francs, euros and other currencies as the first installment of a $1.7 billion settlement resolving claims at an international tribunal at The Hague over a failed arms deal under the time of the Shah.

A fifth American man was released by Iran separately.

The $400 million payment laundered via untraceable Swiss and Euro currency was sent to an acknowledged state sponsor of international terrorism, by persons unknown, under the objection of the DoJ (due to obvious illegalities), via an unmarked jet in the middle of the night, without the knowledge of Congress.

This funding transfer just happened to coincide with a sensitive, ongoing Obama administration nuclear deal and culminates a 37 year old financial transaction involving weapons transfers, and provides the U.S. taxpayer a significant financial savings over previous unspecified financial arrangements.

Did I mention the Swiss franks and Euros will go to a state sponsor of international terrorism and primary funding agent of Hezbollah, Hamas, the PLO, and Iraqi Shia terrorist groups ?

Why would anyone doubt the "there's no there there" response given by Admiral (Ret) John F. Kirby ? [sarc off]

French Priest’s Final Words to Islamic State Terrorists Before They Slit His Throat

myrmidons. During the ceremony, attendees learned the last words that the Rev. Jacques Hamel said to his murderers as he tried to push them away with his feet.

"Go away, Satan!" the 86-year-old holy man commanded before the assailants slit his throat at the altar of his parish.

Hundreds of priests and bishops filled the sumptuous Rouen cathedral alongside several hundred people, including Moslems who have joined in the grieving since the brutal attack that occurred as the priest celebrated morning Mass.

The Islamic State group grabbed credit for the attack in which Hamel, two nuns and an elderly couple were held hostage before the killers slashed the priest’s throat and seriously maimed the other man. Another nun at the Mass slipped away and sounded an alarm. Police shot to death both attackers as they left the church.

The Christian Post reported that since the murder several French Moslem leaders have refused to bury the two 19-year old radicals.

Hamel’s grisly murder came less than two weeks after 84 people were killed in an attack in Nice, La Belle France, by a man who drove a truck into a crowd of Bastille Day revelers. The events sent shockwaves throughout a country rattled by a series of violent attacks carried out by Islamic myrmidons.

#6  Update from The Times of Israel:

Danish Muslim group denies offering French jihadist burial

A Danish Muslim organization on Thursday denies media reports that it had offered to bury one of the jihadists who murdered a French priest, after the group was slammed by politicians.

Jyllands-Posten, one of Denmark’s main newspapers, on Wednesday reported that the Danish Islamic Burial Fund was willing to bury 19-year-old jihadist Adel Kermiche in Denmark after Muslim leaders in France had refused to do so.

“His remarks were not on behalf of the fund,” the head of the Danish group, Bashir Ahmad Nazmi, tells AFP in an email, referring to the interview with deputy chairman Kasem Said Ahmad, whom Danish media had referred to as the group’s chairman.

The Muslim cemetery outside Copenhagen was only “for Muslims in Denmark,” the fund says in a short statement.

Bangladesh
Bangladesh's missing militant link: the threat from abroad
[DAWN] When Bangladeshi authorities last month released the names of 261 men who have gone missing from their families, in an attempt to find gunnies hidden in this country of 160 million people, at the very end of the list was "Jilani alias Abu Zidal".

He was not in Bangladesh. The young man, an engineering school dropout, travelled to Syria last year to fight for the holy warrior Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) group. In April, IS announced he was blown to bits during battle by a 23-millimetre gun, the sort used to shoot down aircraft.
How odd. Was he accidentally standing in front of it when it went off?
Asked why Bangladesh's Rapid Action Battalion, a domestic anti-terrorism agency, listed Jilani among the 261 names, its front man Mufti Mohammad Khan said neither the man's family nor the police had notified the battalion of the death. "So we included him in the list."

A Google search for Jilani, whose real name was Ashequr Rahman, would have brought up an IS notification of his death.

Distributing the alias of a dead holy warrior in an all-points bulletin is just one illustration of how Bangladesh authorities have failed to confront the international links of radical holy warrior groups in the country. Police and government officials here continue to insist they are facing a home-grown threat -- a "grave error" according to regional experts on holy warrior groups.

Banking officials admit being lost when it comes to interdicting foreign funding for attacks. Law enforcement officers have been slow to complete basic steps of intelligence-gathering, weeks after a July 1 assault in which five young men killed 20 people they had taken hostage at a cafe in the capital.

Domestic holy warriors
The government says the July 1 attack -- and another on July 26 in which police potted nine gunnies believed to be plotting a similar assault -- were the work of domestic gunnies and it has dismissed claims of responsibility from IS.

That fits with a pattern of the nation's rulers reflexively blaming their rivals in opposition political parties for fomenting unrest.

Dhaka has recently doubled down on its position that IS does not exist in Bangladesh.

Authorities on Tuesday named a prime suspect in the cafe attack, Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury. Analysts say he is the same person IS identified in April as its commander in Bangladesh, who goes by the alias of Sheik Abu Ibrahim al-Hanif.

Asked whether by naming Chowdhury officials had implicitly acknowledged IS is in Bangladesh, Monirul Islam, head of a counter-terrorism cell for the Dhaka police, disagreed.

"Our stand is very clear," Islam told Rooters, "that there is no IS inside the country."

Many "lone wolf" and self-styled holy warrior groups have pledged support to IS around the world, in addition to a reported 22,000 foreigners who have left their countries of origin to fight on behalf of the group. However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
the line between self-declared adherents and actual IS command-and-control is often unclear.

Bangladesh has for years denied that global holy warrior networks like Al Qaeda and IS operate on its soil. But the recent spate of attacks by scattered and hard-to-detect groups claiming loyalty to both shows such distinctions are losing relevance.

That has left authorities struggling to contain an escalating offensive by gunnies in a nation with a $28 billion-a-year garment industry and which, crucially, sits between south and southeast Asia, regions that contain the largest Moslem populations in the world.

Europe
Jihadi Colonists in Europe
Chechen, Pakistani-Origin Jihadists Jailed in Norway

[AnNahar] An Oslo court on Wednesday jailed two jihadists of Pakistani and Chechen origin for six and seven and a half years respectively for joining the so-called Islamic State (IS) group in Syria.

Adam Idrisovich Magomadov, a 23-year-old Russian of Chechen origin, and Hasan Ahmed, a 46-year-old Norwegian of Pakistani origin, were convicted of belonging to IS and of "terror conspiracy." The two men, who had been living in southeastern Norway, traveled together to Syria in August 2014, a little more than a month after the IS declared a caliphate in an area straddling Iraq and Syria. While there, the two took part in IS training programs, vowed allegiance to the group, and bore weapons in its name, the court found.

Magomadov was handed a heavier sentence because he stayed in Syria longer. The court found it likely that he had taken part in combat, that he had maintained ties with IS after returning to Norway, and that he, like his co-accused, planned to return to Syria. Ahmed, whose son Ishaq was also sentenced to eight years in prison in Norway last year for joining IS, will appeal the conviction, while Magomadov had not yet decided, their lawyers told public broadcaster NRK.

Lufthansa Warns European Terror Creating Turbulence

[AnNahar] German flag carrier Lufthansa warned Tuesday that recent terror attacks in Europe were having a "tangible impact" on business, with second-quarter profits down 17 percent. Net profits between April and June came in at 437 million euros ($488 million), the group said, slightly below analysts' expectations, who had forecast a figure of 443 million euros.

Lufthansa had already said last month that the jittery atmosphere in Europe was hitting its business and considered "a complete recovery as not likely anymore."

Pakistani Terror Suspect Captained Italy Cricket Team

[AnNahar] A Pakistani man expelled from Italy for allegedly plotting an attack in the name of the Islamic State (IS) group used to captain the Italian youth cricket team, media reports said Wednesday.

Aftab Farook was caught on a wire-tap talking about using a Kalashnikov or bomb to attack targets such as a wine shop in Milan or the airport of Bergamo in northern Italy, saying the important thing was to scare Europeans, Italian newspapers reported. On Tuesday, Interior Minister Angelino Alfano said the 26-year-old supported IS and was planning to go to Syria to join militants.

The news stunned locals in Vaprio d'Adda near Milan, where Farook had lived with his family since he was 13 years old.

"It hit us like lightning out of the blue, I still don't believe it," Fabio Marabini, president of the Kingsgrove Milano cricket club and a close paternal figure to Farook, told La Stampa daily. "I spoke to him just before they put him on the flight for Islamabad. He thanked me for everything I've done for him over the years and he told me he was scared, because he no longer has any ties in Pakistan."
If only he'd supported LeT or the TTP -- then he'd have plenty of friends waiting for him.
Citing the investigative report drawn up by anti-mafia police, however, La Stampa said Farook had changed over the past year or so, and had begun beating his wife and forcing her to wear a burqa.

Italian police arrest Syrian suspected of trying to join militants

[AlAhram] Italian police arrested a Syrian man in the northern city of Genoa on Wednesday on suspicion he was planning to travel to his home country to join Islamist militants. Police said in a statement their anti-terrorism unit had arrested an unemployed man, 23, who they said was planning to return to Syria to join the rebel group Nusra Front. He was arrested on suspicion of supporting international terrorism.

The Syrian Islamist rebel group re-branded itself last week as Jabhat Fatah al-Sham and temporarily cut ties with international militant network al Qaeda.

Police said they were investigating the arrested man's relationship with other foreigners in the Genoa area to determine whether they were trying to recruit fighters. They said there was no indication that attacks in Italy were being planned.
Another Al Ahram article adds:
Separately, heightened anti-terrorism measures are being done in Rome. They include the stationing of police cars and van at the end of a boulevard that runs past the Colosseum, and police patrols and surveillance along Via del Corso, a long street lined with clothing shops and which also runs by the premier's office.

European Immigration Through Turkey Surges After Coup Attempt
3 August 2016
Ever since the Turkish coup attempt two weeks ago, the number of migrants crossing the Aegean Sea from the Turkish coast into Greece has doubled relative to the preceding period.

If the EU grants visa liberalization, hundreds of thousands of migrants are likely to enter Europe “legally” from Turkey, and EU authorities will have little way of ascertaining the origins or intentions of those coming in. The risk of infiltration from Islamic terrorists is high, since the Turkish government has expressed its intention to issue some 350 thousand new passports, according to nebulous criteria.

If Europe refuses, however, Erdogan will likely reopen the floodgates of migrants across the Aegean Sea into Greece, with numbers likely to equal or exceed the waves of migrants experienced in 2015.

The Grand Turk
Turkey's purge continues: Thursday August 4th
Sweden won't return people linked to failed Turkey coup

[AlAhram] Sweden won't send back failed asylum-seekers from Turkey with "reliable connections" to the attempted coup in that country, authorities said Wednesday. Swedish migration agency Migrationsverket said that "these are supporters of opposition leader Fethullah Gulen," the U.S.-based Muslim cleric that Turkey blames for the July 15 coup attempt.

Turkish police raid science council, many detained, in post-coup purge - NTV

[AlAhram] Turkish police raided the offices of the national science research council on Wednesday, broadcaster NTV said, widening the investigation into followers of the U.S.-based cleric suspected of masterminding last month's coup attempt. Many people were detained in the raid of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (Tubitak), NTV said.

Actors suspended from City Theaters after failed coup attempt
No stone to be left unturned, though it is but a grain of sand.
[Hurriyet] The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has initiated an operation at the City Theaters, suspending actors Sevinç Erbulak, Mahberi Mertoğlu, İrem Arslan and Arda Aydın and directors Ragıp Yavuz and Kemal Kocatürk as part of an investigation launched following the failed July 15 coup.

Turkish police seize millions of liras in Gülen raids
No point in holding a purge if it doesn't show a profit for the leadership.
[Hurriyet] Istanbul police seized millions of Turkish Liras on Aug. 3, as part of the probe into the Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) in the wake of the July 15 failed coup attempt.

According to security sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, officers from anti-smuggling and organized crime units raided different addresses in a number of Istanbul districts, including Güngören, Beylikdüzü, Sarıyer and Kadıköy. During the operation, police seized 3.5 million liras ($1.16 million) in currency, 50 million liras ($16.5 million) in checks, organizational documents and a number of American one dollar bills with an F serial number, which were believed to be used to show membership in FETÖ. The money was believed to have been collected as charitable donations from the followers of Fethullah Gülen, the sources said.

At least 11 people, including a purported leading fundraiser, were also held during the raid. The suspects were accused of having links to the organization.

Gülenist prosecutor’s confession a sigh of relief for former top Turkish soldier

[Hurriyet] Former Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Yaşar Büyükanıt has said he was happy about the fact that a prosecutor linked to Fethullah Gülen, the alleged mastermind of the July 15 coup attempt, has confessed to putting false charges against him a decade ago in a bid to ease the rooting of the group within the military.

Turkish pilot admits to bombarding parliament during failed coup attempt

[Hurriyet] Pilot Staff Cpt. Hüseyin Türk confessed in his testimony that Brig. Hakan Evrim, the commander of the Akıncı Air Base in the capital Ankara, gave him the order to bomb Turkey’s Grand National Assembly, saying that he dropped the bomb within the given orders. He also said that Staff Lt. Col. Hakan Karakuş and Staff Maj. Mustafa Azimetli held a meeting over the bombardment plan and gave him the coordinates.

“I bombarded the Grand National Assembly of Turkey as my target with the order of my commanders,” Türk said during a cross-examination in his interrogation.

A total of 105 pilots, who were discharged from the army according to a decree law, were detained as a part of the investigation into the Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ), which was responsible for the coup attempt. Five pilots were later referred to court. Türk and First Lt. Halil İbrahim G. were arrested while the other three were released on probation.

Pregnant woman attacked for ‘wearing revealing clothes, supporting coup’ in Istanbul
How long until the tumbrils rumble through the streets?
[Hurriyet] A woman working as a secretary at Turkish daily Evrensel was attacked by a group of people who accused her of “wearing revealing clothes and supporting the July 15 failed coup attempt” on Aug. 2 in Istanbul. The attackers reportedly accused Hazal Ölmez, who was six months pregnant, of supporting the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), which was behind the failed takeover.

“Why are you wearing revealing clothes? You are a coup supporter and a Gülenist,” the group reportedly yelled at Ölmez, as they also called for people nearby to join them in beating her.

“You won’t get dressed this way anymore, you will get dressed the way we want you to and you will obey us,” the group also said, according to the report.

Speaking about the incident, Ölmez said that she was walking to her home in Istanbul’s Kocamustafapaşa neighborhood when three people, two of whom were burqa-wearing women, started to attack her.

“I got out of work and I was going home on a road that I use every day. Someone suddenly pulled my hair from behind. When I turned around I saw a woman wearing a burqa and asked her the reason why she pulled my hair, but she started to attack me,” Ölmez told Evrensel, adding that she was called a “traitor” by the group.

“They called for others to attack me. They wanted to lynch me there,” she also said.

Saying that a man aged 26 or 27 showed up at the scene a couple of minutes later, Ölmez added that he threatened to attack other people living in the neighborhood.

“A couple of minutes later a man with a long beard came over and shouted, ‘There are four others in the neighborhood that we marked, their turn will come.’ Then he kicked my ankle,” she said.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Saudi visit to Israel angers Hamas
[al-Monitor] Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, has called on Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
to prevent the normalization of relations with Israel. The appeal, which went up on Hamas' website July 31, raised eyebrows among those who understand Hamas' complicated situation and the importance of tightening relations with Saudi Arabia. The leaders of the movement, who only a year ago thanked Allah for their honorable reception at the palace of the Saudi king, now dare to rebuke the king for his relations with Israel?

Relations between Hamas and Saudi Arabia grew tighter in the past year following the nuclear agreement between six world powers and Tehran. Saudi King Salman
...either the largest species of Pacific salmon or the current Sheikh of the Burnin' Sands, Cutodian of the Two Holy Mosquesand Lord of Most of the Arabians....
bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, who succeeded his father, then decided on a surprising strategic move and invited the leaders of Hamas, who were then persona non grata in Riyadh, to a meeting at his palace. From the king's standpoint, tightened relations with Hamas -- after long years of hostility for its support by Tehran -- would enable the Saudis to get closer to the Sunni nations and allow it direct influence on the movement controlling Gazoo. Saudi Arabia already has a close relationship with the Paleostinian Authority, headed by President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
"This is Saudi Arabia's diplomatic path: to bring close any faction, movement, organization or state in the Arab world to distance them as much as possible from Tehran," one of the leaders of the Fatah movement in the West Bank told Al-Monitor on condition of anonymity. According to him, the Saudi king has no interest in a foothold in the Paleostinian territories, but through monetary aid amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars to Gazoo and Ramallah, the Saudis hope to be able to serve as a fair and influential moderator in the Arab-Israeli conflict and that one day the two sides will be receptive to the 2002 Saudi initiative for resolving the conflict -- the Arab Peace Initiative, which is still on the table.

In recent years, Hamas has lost most of the sponsors that have helped it function and hold on to its rule in the Gazoo Strip by force. After the bitter disappointment in Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
, which did not keep its extravagant promises to Hamas after the crisis with Iran, Hamas leaders discovered that even Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
is unreliable. The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
’s reconciliation agreement in June with Israel did not bring about the lifting of the siege on Gazoo, despite the promises made.

Africa Subsaharan
Islamic State Names New Leader of Boko Haram
[WSJ] Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
said it appointed a new leader for Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
, in a sign that the Nigerian Islamist insurgency is retooling under the command of its Middle Eastern counterpart.

Sheik Abu Mossab al Bornawi
...could that be Mohammed Usman, (or possibly, as he was identified in another article in our archive, "Barnawi, 47, whose real name is Usman Umar Abubakar, hailed from Biu town in restive northeast Borno state") also known as Khalid Al-Barnawi alias Kafuri, Naziru, Alhaji Yahaya, Mallam Dauda, and Alhaji Tanimu? But he was arrested by the Nigerian authorities in April...
was recently assigned to take command of the Nigerian insurgency, whose war with the government has left more than 30,000 people dead.

Boko Haram declared loyalty to Islamic State in 2015, and Mr. al Bornawi told al Naba, Islamic State’s weekly newsletter in a Tuesday article that the two groups have decided "to fight and unite under one umbrella."
I wonder if something was removed from the article in rewrite. Mr. al Bornawi until now was a leader of Ansaru, formally Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis Sudan (Vanguard for the Protection of Muslims in Black Africa), the educated, Al Qaeda-trained splinter group that specialized in kidnapping and killing foreigners because they were much too refined to join Boko Haram in kidnapping and killing locals. They broke off from Boko Haram in 2012, back when both groups were affiliated with Al Qaeda in North Africa.
Mr. Al Bornawi didn’t specify who had assigned him, but the publication’s use of the term suggested that Islamic State itself promoted him to lead the Nigerian insurgency, which has lost significant ground over the past 18 months and seen several of its leaders tossed in the clink
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
or killed.

Tuesday’s interview speaks to a new challenge facing Africa’s largest democracy: that Islamic State is increasingly backing and supervising Nigeria’s homegrown insurgency.

"Infidel forces" have "stripped the group of some territories, which we are working on retrieving," Mr. al Bornawi said in the interview.

For months, Nigerian officials have warned that Boko Haram members are slipping into the Sahara, joining Islamic State in Libya, or for meetings in Sudan. Intelligence reports and officials in neighboring countries have supported that view, and Islamic State’s announcements from Libya have referenced several Nigerian fighters. Boko Haram, for its part, has renamed itself Islamic State West African Province.

"There is no more Boko Haram," a Nigerian counterterrorism official who works with detained forces of Evil said. "As far as they’re concerned, they consider themselves to be ISIS [Islamic State]."

The terror group’s new leader didn’t say what happened to Abubakar Shekau, the former face of Boko Haram.

It also isn’t clear if Mr. Shekau’s followers support the change in management: In his comments, the new leader seemed to suggest that Mr. Shekau had killed too many Moslems, a significant departure from the doctrine shared by Boko Haram and Islamic State, who both believe that only their supporters are true Moslems.

"I’m not confident over the long-term sustainability of this," said Jacob Zenn, a fellow at the Jamestown Foundation research group in Washington, D.C. "I don’t think he has support from the Shekau factions."

#1  I'm all in favor of them fighting it out among themselves for a while. I gather the incumbent has some issue with the new appointment.

Afghanistan
Gen. Raziq’s ban on Pak Rupees and reduction in Dollar rates in Kabul
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The provincial police chief of the southern Kandahar province General Abdul Raziq has reportedly put a ban on Pak Rupees in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan.

In the meantime the Dollar rates against the Afghani currency witnessed an unprecedented reduction in the main exchange market of Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
city, Sarai Shahzada ‐ Shahzada Market, today.

There has been a reduction of almost 2 AFN against each Dollar in the main money exchange market in Kabul today as traders and merchants credit the reduction to Gen. Raziq’s move.

However the reduction in Dollar rates in Kabul followed as the main exchange market was closed for two days due to a protest by money exchangers regarding the growing instability in the country threatening the local traders.

There are also reports that the Dollar rate against Afghani currentcy has dropped by 3 AFN as the social media was rife with the report of reduction in Dollar rates in Afghanistan today.

A leaflet has started to circulate across Kandahar yesterday in three languages informing the traders and local residents in Kandahar regarding the ban on the use of Pak Rupees.

The leaflet was also shared on the main Facebook page of Kandahar police chief General Abdul Raziq.

The use of Pak Rupees in Afghanistan is normal in some southern and southeastern parts of the country since the Taliban regime in mid-90s.

Afghanistan has been struggling to prevent the use of Pak Rupees in the mentioned areas during the past several years but such attempts have proven to be fruitless.

The latest attempt to start ban on Pak Rupees from Kandahar province comes as the relations between Kabul and Islamabad witnessed an all time low during the recent months.

Tensions between the two neighboring countries started to escalate following Pakistain’s move to construct a gate in Torkham located along the Durand Line which the Afghan government calls as illegitimate and unilateral move.

The Afghan and Pak forces engaged in a deadly clash in Torkham last month over the construction of the gate last month that led to the death of numerous people, including a top Mighty Pak Army major.

Iraq
Coalition planes pound ISIS-held Saddam palace: UK
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Coalition warplanes bombed one of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein’s palaces which was being used as a training base ISIS, Britannia’s Ministry of Defense said Wednesday.

The palace in the ISIS stronghold of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
in northern Iraq was attacked in a joint operation by the US-led coalition on Monday, with British Tornado jets targeting the headquarters buildings and a security centre.

Extensive surveillance established that the ISIS group, also known as ISIS, was using the palace and its sprawling grounds as a headquarters and training centre for foreign recruits, the ministry said.

Within the secure compound on the banks of the River Tigris, the main palace building was being used as accommodation and a meeting venue.

The site also contained "a number of more discreet outbuildings used for command and control, training, internal security and repression", it said.

"A large coalition air package drawn from several nations conducted a carefully coordinated attack on the complex," the ministry said in a statement.

"The British contribution was a pair of Tornados, armed with the largest guided bombs in the RAF’s (Royal Air Force’s) inventory, the 2,000-pound (910-kilogramme) Enhanced Paveway III, which were used to target first the headquarters buildings, then a security centre.

"Initial analysis indicates that the coalition mission was successful."

Mosul, Iraq’s second city, has been held by the ISIS group since June 2014. Iraqi forces are conducting operations to set the stage for an assault but the final push to retake it is likely still months away.

As part of the international coalition, RAF Tornado and Typhoon jets are flying daily missions against ISIS in Iraq as well as in Syria from the British sovereign bases on Cyprus.

"ISIS has been losing followers and territory for months, and emphatic strikes like this show that we and the coalition will not waver," Defense Secretary Michael Fallon said after the Mosul bombing.

"ISIS fighters, both foreign and home-grown, can see that they are targets inside this cultmid."

#1  hmm... hit all the dictionaries and still no idea wtf is a cultmid, other than a bike thing. It's great learning new words that have no meaning, like our liberals teach us.

#2  Good catch, Bov. Googling the first paragraph got me the same AFP article from another source; it looks like Al Arabiya was hit by a stray gamma ray as they copied the text from the feed. Al Monitor has that sentence as:

"Daesh fighters, both foreign and home-grown, can see that they are targets inside this cult."

#4  Didn't the dear departed ole Saddam spend a butt load of money on each of his palaces constructing these very deep and very hardened bunkers FAR underground beneath the palaces? Didn't some German company get their hands slapped for designing said bunkers and didn't the US go dig up a bunch of drill pipe and construct some kind of jury rigged bunker buster to deal with them?

Or have I gone off the deep end and started those hallucinations again?

India-Pakistan
‘650 Pakistanis fighting in conflict zones abroad’
[DAWN] As many as 650 Paks are said to be fighting in the conflict zones of Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan and Central Asian states along with different foreign organizations.

Intelligence agencies have so far identified 132 of them and expressed the fear that their return after being defeated by international forces might add to sectarian strife in Pakistain.

After receiving the information, the National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC) of the federal government has alerted law enforcement agencies to take preventive measures besides tightening security on the borders of the country, especially in Balochistan
