Gangs reap guns from trains in violent Chicago neighborhoods
[WAPO] CHICAGO -- When street-gang thieves slipped with ease into a Norfolk Southern rail yard on Chicago’s South Side and ripped locks off one train, they likely expected to see merchandise like toys or tennis shoes. What they beheld instead was a gangster’s jackpot: box after box of brand new guns.

The guns had been en route from New Hampshire weapon maker Sturm, Ruger & Co. to Spokane, Washington. Instead, the .45-caliber Ruger revolvers and other firearms spread quickly into surrounding high-crime neighborhoods. Along with two other major gun thefts within three years, the robbery helped fuel a wave of violence on Chicago’s streets.

The 2015 heist of the 111 guns, as well as one in 2014 and another last September from the same 63rd Street Rail Yard highlight a tragic confluence. Chicago’s biggest rail yards are on the gang- and homicide-plagued South and West sides where most of the city’s 762 killings happened last year.

Chicago’s leaders regularly blame lax gun laws in Illinois and nearby states that enable a flow of illegal weapons to the city’s gangs and criminals. But community leaders and security experts say no one seems to be taking responsibility for train-yard gun thefts.

Only 16 of the stolen Rugers have been recovered since the 2015 break-in, according to hundreds of recent court records reviewed by The Associated Press. One was used in a Jan. 22, 2016, shooting. Police woke an attempted-murder suspect and found one by his bed. Another was in a dealer’s home alongside 429 bags of heroin. Police recovered another during a traffic stop; the driver said his friend had just been shot 10 times and he had to protect himself. "It’s a war going on over here," he told police.

Wash Times Wesley Pruden: 'On the eve of the insurrection' - What Pruden didn't say
BLUF: [Wash Times] Mr. Sessions is a man of integrity and plain dealing, and he will survive the sticks, stones and hatchets. But he is well advised not to let his "friends" have access to his back. Those "friends" are well advised that the Democrats are continuing to collect rope, and not all of it is for the neck of the attorney general.

The Democrats call their scorched-earth attacks on the new president "the resistance." But it is accurately described as "an insurrection." They’re determined to destroy a duly elected president of the United States, by resignation or impeachment if they can, and if that doesn’t work, maybe something more sinister will be employed. We’ve never before seen anything like this. We’re sailing in uncharted water.
Emphasis added.

Denver Muslim: I Killed "Solely for Pleasure of Allah"
Denver terrorist Joshua Cummings told authorities he did not kill for ISIS, but simply to please Allah.

Denver terrorist Joshua Cummings told authorities he murdered a security guard on January 30, 2017, to please Allah.

Cummings asked the judge for a copy of a Koran during his first court appearance.

Cummings shot Scott Von Lanken, a 56-year-old RTD security guard, in the back of the head.

He later admitted he did it for the pleasure of Allah.

CBS Local reported:

The man charged in the murder of a Regional Transportation District security guard says his actions that night were to please Allah.

Joshua Cummings, 37, is charged with the Jan. 30 murder of RTD security guard Scott Von Lanken. What happened was a cold blooded murder ‐ a shot to the head ‐ but the reason behind it is still unclear. From his jail cell, by phone, Cummings told CBS4 three days after his arrest he pledged his allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State.

"I give my bay'ah (pledge) to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and I am committed to being a soldier for the Islamic State," he told CBS4 Investigator Rick Sallinger.

Cummings would not say if he committed the murder.

"On the night in question, what I did do, I didn't do that for the Islamic State. I did that purely and solely for the pleasure of Allah," Cummings said.

He would not explain why his actions that night would have been for God.

Cummings was found a short time after the killing nearby with a gun the same caliber as the shells found at the murder scene. He was carrying Islamic literature. He says whatever he did that night was not in the name of ISIS.

The home improvement retailer will be bringing on a range of employees, from cashiers to freight handlers to customer service representatives. To hasten the hiring, It’s even shrunk the application, and is enabling potential workers to apply by clicking on a smartphone or tablet.

"We want everyone to have an easy and convenient experience with The Home Depot, whether they're shopping with us or applying for a position," Tim Crow, the retailer’s executive vice president, human resources, said in a statement.

POTUS accuses Obama of 'wire-tapping' his office before election
[Guardian] Donald Trump has accused Barack Obama of "wire tapping" his offices in New York City before the presidential election in November last year, claiming the former president had overseen a "Nixon/Watergate"-style intervention.

Launching a series of tweets at 5.35am eastern time on Saturday morning, the US president said: "Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ’wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!"

He followed up that initial tweet with a string of others in the following 30 minutes that claimed Obama had defied a court rejection to tap his office, and invited a "good lawyer" to make a case against the alleged process.

The Democrat High Priestesses in White
[American Thinker] There have been many interpretations concerning the mysterious bloc of women Democrats robed in white -- all the while pointedly ignoring President Trump’s speech to the joint session of Congress.

Some critics compared the ladies to devotees of the Ku Klux Klan. Photoshopped images of them wearing the pointed hoods of the KKK almost immediately appeared, as some recalled the Democrat Party’s commitment to the Klan, particularly in the 1920s.

The women themselves have said they were honoring the suffragettes of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries while indicating their ongoing commitment to women’s rights issues such as equal pay for equal work.

But not many conservatives believe the white wall of women was intended to be a merely symbolic gesture of solidarity with suffragettes.

Whatever each intended to convey by her choice of clothing, the entire the bloc of women in white was virtue signaling. That is one reason they chose white clothing.

The choice of white garments has long signified the sacred. Being dressed in white indicates being set apart, dedicated to sacred ideals, spiritually separated from the crowd as seeking to attain righteousness and purity. Whether Vestal virgins or, in the Christian tradition, the scared rituals of baptism and first communion, white is the garment of choice. It indicates purity of life and deeds which the rest of the world should seek to attain.

In the case of many, if not all of the feminists who sat on their hands and refused to stand as a gesture of support for Carryn Owens, widow of Navy SEAL Ryan Owens, the garments indicated they are the chosen priestesses of the pious Left, the defenders of the feminist faith.
A sacrifice can only be honored when they conduct the ritual ceremony.
To look at the bloc of white garbed Democrat women was to look at oracles of Delphi who have mystically discerned the most sacred right of women is the right to sacrifice their own offspring. To look at the high priestesses dedicated to the religion of radical feminism is to see leaders of a cult, the chief sacrament of which is abortion.

For nearly all leftist feminists, abortion is a holy rite, a religious ritual to be conducted in the cathedrals of Planned Parenthood and to be blessed by "faith leaders."
Abortion, yes the bottom line.
Yes, you read that correctly. Blessed.

High priests and priestesses inside and outside the Beltway have committed to "blessing" abortion both by law and by religious rituals.

Schumer and Gillibrand Helped Athlete Being Held on Sex Charges Obtain Visa
[Free Beacon] Democratic Sens. Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) and Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.) helped a snowshoe racer from India gain entry into the U.S. to compete, but he is now being held in a New York jail on sex charges as of Friday.

Tanveer Hussain was charged with the felony of first-degree sexual abuse and the misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child after Saranac Lake Village police received a report of the alleged incident, according to Fox News.

Hussain was allegedly "engaging in a passionate kiss" with a 12-year-old girl. Other accusations claim he was touching her in an intimate area over her clothes.

He was arrested on Wednesday for the incident which allegedly occurred on Monday.

Four militants killed in raid in Giza's Kerdasa: Police
[AlAhram] Four bandidos bully boyz were killed during a police raid in in the town of Kerdasa, on the outskirts of Cairo, state news agency MENA reported on Thursday.

In statements to MENA, a Giza security directorate source said that police forces killed the wanted "terrorists" while attempting to arrest them, adding that police opened fire after the bandidos bully boyz initiated a shootout.

The source added that ammunition and several shell casings were found with the four men.

It is unclear what charges the men were wanted for by the prosecution, or with which group they were affiliated.

Kerdasa has been known to be a stronghold for supporters of the now-banned Moslem Brüderbund and ousted president Mohammed Morsi.
Ynet adds:
Egypt's interior ministry said on Friday its forces killed four people it said were runaway forces of Evil plotting to carry out hostile operations.

The men were killed after opening fire on security forces who approached them in Giza, on the southwestern edge of the Egyptian capital Cairo, where they were meeting to plan an attack, the ministry said in a statement.

It identified one of them as Sameh Mohammed Farahat Abd el-Mageed, a 30-year-old leader of a takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who most be killed...
group.

Ammunition, weapons and a car were found at the scene, the statement said. It did not identify the three other men.

Niger Declares Emergency in Areas Flanking Restive Mali
[AnNahar] Niger on Friday declared a state of emergency in several western areas flanking Mali after a spate of deadly attacks blamed on jihadists from its restive neighbour.

A government statement read on state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
said a state of emergency would be enforced in seven departments of the regions of Tillaberi and Tahoua.

Security forces would now be granted additional powers including the right to search homes at any time, it said.

The statement said repeated attacks in these areas "have endangered the security of the peaceful population and public order."

The zones affected are "Ouallam, Ayorou, Bankilare, Abala and Banibangou in Tillaberi and Tassara and Tilia in Tahoua".

Tillaberi and Tahoua have witnessed several deadly attacks on army posts and refugee camps, blamed by authorities on Malian jibadists linked to the Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa (MUJAO) group.
...one of Al Qaeda in North Africa's Mali affiliates, known for drugs and arms trafficking, kidnapping, and the occasional newsworthy attack in southern Algeria and northern Mali, a.k.a. the Azawad. Established in 2011, one faction of MUJAO became known as Al Mourabitoun and related names after merging with Mokhtar Belmokhtar's Masked Battalion in 2013, while the rump organization retains the MUJAO designation. The Black African-led (Hausa) group participated in the Tuareg rebellion along with other jihadi groups, and peaked with the conquest of the Malian city of Konna before being driven into the mountains by a combined French and Mali force in 2013.
These include a late February attack in Ouallam which killed 16 soldiers and maimed 18. And in October, 22 soldiers died in Tahoua during a daring assault on a refugee camp.

POTUS Selects author and Putin Critic as Top White House Russia Adviser
[Free Beacon] President Donald Trump tapped respected scholar and leading Vladimir Putin critic Fiona Hill to serve as the top Russia adviser on the National Security Council, signaling a shift in attitude toward Moscow.

Hill, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution who earlier served at the National Intelligence Council, was offered the position of White House senior director for Europe and Russia prior to the ousting of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, an administration official told Foreign Policy on Thursday.

It is not yet clear whether Hill has accepted the post. Her appointment is likely to garner bipartisan support from lawmakers who have expressed concerns about President Donald Trump's expressed desire to forge closer ties with Moscow at the expense of NATO allies.

Michael McFaul, the U.S. ambassador to Russia under the former Obama administration, told Bloomberg that Hill's selection marked a "great hire" given her prestige as a "first-class scholar" on Moscow.

From Amazon: From the KGB to the Kremlin: a multidimensional portrait of the man at war with the West. Where do Vladimir Putin’s ideas come from? How does he look at the outside world? What does he want, and how far is he willing to go? The great lesson of the outbreak of World War I in 1914 was the danger of misreading the statements, actions, and intentions of the adversary. Today, Vladimir Putin has become the greatest challenge to European security and the global world order in decades. Russia’s 8,000 nuclear weapons underscore the huge risks of not understanding who Putin is. Featuring five new chapters, this new edition dispels potentially dangerous misconceptions about Putin and offers a clear-eyed look at his objectives. It presents Putin as a reflection of deeply ingrained Russian ways of thinking as well as his unique personal background and experience.

Mark Levin to Congress: Investigate Obama's ‘Silent Coup' vs. Trump
[Breitbart] Radio host Mark Levin used his Thursday evening show to outline the known steps taken by President Barack Obama’s administration in its last months to undermine Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and, later, his new administration.

Levin called Obama’s effort "police state" tactics, and suggested that Obama’s actions, rather than conspiracy theories about alleged Russian interference in the presidential election to help Trump, should be the target of congressional investigation.

Drawing on sources including the New York Times and the Washington Post, Levin described the case against Obama so far, based on what is already publicly known. The following is an expanded version of that case, including events that Levin did not mention specifically but are important to the overall timeline.

Ten supporting events and summation follow:

Ex-CIA Officer Abandoned by Obama: Without DJT Admin, ‘I Would Be Spending Tonight in an Italian Prison'
[Breitbart] Former CIA case officer Sabrina De Sousa thanked the Trump administration for intervening to save her from extradition to Italy and imprisonment in a statement on Friday.

"I want to extend my deepest appreciation to the Trump administration for all their efforts on my behalf. Without their support I would be spending tonight in an Italian prison," said De Sousa, in a statement quoted by Fox News.

"The Obama administration and former CIA Director John Brennan abandoned De Sousa the last seven years, and in six weeks, the Trump team made her freedom possible," Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI) told Fox News.
Skipping down a bit to a very interesting comparison:
Rep. Hoekstra compared De Sousa’s case to President Obama’s abandonment of Pakistani doctor Shakil Afridi, who played a crucial role in the hunt for Osama bin Laden.

How many times have we seen that Disney model of laying off all the 'murricans and replacing them with H1Bs? In my IT Consulting days I saw many a client that had H1Bs in preference due to the money.
One example was Kodak where they had gotten rid of about 2 dozen IT folks and brought in more H1Bs who were dormitoried by there agent 6 to an apartment. Once a year they went home to India for a couple of weeks.

#8  grom, methinks you are exaggerating. What I would say is a lot of American kids are discouraged from computer science majors because of H1Bs and outsourcing. Also, I've seen Indian programmers in action but I've seen no evidence that they're any better than Americans. Quite the contrary, actually. They may be more willing to work 60, 70 or 80 hours a week for less money than American kids but that doesn't mean they're any better.

I would also say that if the likes of Facebook, Google, Apple and Microsoft think Indian IT workers are better than Americans they should move to India and pay appropriate tariffs when they try to sell their bloatware in this country. I won't miss them.

#10  There are a lot of problems with American schools and Ritalin is certainly one of them. In my day teachers could always arrange for disruptive young lads to have a meeting with the Board of Education. With his backsides suitably warmed the trouble maker was almost always ready to return to class with an improved attitude. I may have been subject to such discipline a time or two myself and I made a fairly decent career as a programmer. Dunno how I would have done on ritalin.

But I would still assert that H1Bs and outsourcing discourage a lot of prospective computer science majors in this country. I would also assert that requiring a four year college degree on top of a high school education before a student can get a job as a programmer is wasting a helluva lot of time and money. I think a minimum of two years could be cut from that time and we'd probably get better programmers to boot.

Obama Officials Set Up Jeff Sessions' Meeting With the Russian Ambassador

It should already be obvious that the fake media firestorm over Attorney General Jeff Sessions' meetings last year with the Russian ambassador is nothing more than the Democrat Media Complex -- led by Obama's shadow government -- trying to take down a key member of the Trump administration. Their game is to find some minor issue (Sessions could have been more forthcoming during his confirmation hearing) and turn it into a major impeachment-worthy scandal.

...Now, new information has come out that throws cold water all over their phony "RussiaGate" scandal.

It turns out the senator spoke to the Russian ambassador in one of the allegedly scandalous "meetings" on the invitation of the Obama administration.

On his first full day in office, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke issued an order Thursday reversing a last-minute action by the Obama administration to ban lead ammunition and fish tackle used on national wildlife refuges.

Gun-rights supporters condemned the earlier order -- issued a day before Obama left office Jan. 20 -- as nakedly political. The order was intended to protect birds from lead poisoning, the Obama administration said.

Zinke, a former Montana congressman and avid hunter, said the new order would increase hunting, fishing and recreation opportunities on lands managed by Fish and Wildlife Service.

Thousands flee Iraq’s Mosul overnight
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Thousands of civilians fled djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
overnight as Iraqi forces advanced north of a sprawling military base near the city’s airport on Friday.

Iraq’s special forces pushed into the Wadi Hajar district in western Mosul and retook the area from the ISIS Friday, according to Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasool, front man of the Joint Military Operations.

Special forces Brig. Gen. Haider al-Obeidi said clearing operations were ongoing in the area and his forces were close to linking up with the militarized federal police forces who were pushing up along the western bank of the Tigris river.

Iraqi forces, including special operations forces and federal police units, launched an attack on the western part of Mosul nearly two weeks ago to dislodge ISIS. Since the offensive began, more than 28,000 people have been displaced by the fighting, according to the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
Nahla Ahmed, 50 fled Mosul late Thursday night, walking more than five kilometers (three miles) from her home in the Shuhada neighborhood.

"All the families were hiding behind a wall," she said, explaining how they escaped an ISIS-held part of the city. "We gave the children valium so they wouldn’t cry and (the ISIS fighters) wouldn’t catch us."

Ahmed, like most of the civilians who have escaped Mosul in the past week, fled through Mamun neighborhood. The district is partially controlled by Iraq’s special forces.

Maj. Saif Ali, who is stationed in Mamun, said huge crowds of civilians began pouring into the area from neighboring districts just after midnight. Ali said civilians in western Mosul are becoming increasingly desperate as food and water supplies begin to run out.

"In total 7,000 people fled through this area last night," he said. "We were up all night trying to control the crowds."

UN front man Stephane Dujarric said Friday "the latest figures we have of people recorded leaving western Mosul is 28,400 and that’s since operations in west Mosul started on Feb. 19. However we’re also tracking down reports thousands more people are on the move."

He said that on average about 4,000 people a day have been fleeing since the beginning of the operation.

"We think about 750,000 civilians are still trapped inside western Mosul, either sheltering from the fighting or waiting to flee," Dujarric said. "We’re deeply concerned with their well-being and safety and their access to vital resources."

Merkel: Tunisia agrees to take back 1,500 migrants
It's a start.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Chancellor Angela Merkel
...current chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom...
said on Friday Tunisia had agreed to take back 1,500 rejected Tunisian migrants colonists from Germany, after an attack by a Tunisian on a Christmas market in Berlin which killed 12 people.

Merkel had told Tunisia she wanted to speed up repatriation of failed asylum-seekers after ISIS supporter Anis Amri drove a truck through the market in December.

Amri had been denied asylum six months earlier. Merkel has come under heavy pressure for policies that allowed a million refugees into Germany in two years.

"We have agreed with Tunisia to send back 1,500 Tunisians in Germany who have been refused (permission) to stay in Germany," Merkel said at a news conference with Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi in Tunis.

"Those who want to return voluntarily will be able to receive aid."

Essebsi said Tunisia would send a delegation to verify the identities of those returning. German authorities have detained another Tunisian man they suspect of involvement in the truck attack.

Merkel also said the German government would provide Tunisia with 250 million euros in aid for development projects.

He was arrested from his house Friday morning soon after the girl’s father filed a complaint with Kaunia police.

Police said the girl went to meet her classmate, who is a daughter of the accused, on Thursday afternoon. But no one except the accused was present in the house.

"Maulana Masum tried to rape her at that time," Barisal Kaunia police’s Sub-Inspector Pabitra Kumar Mandal told the Dhaka Tribune quoting family members.

"She escaped somehow, and later shared the matter with her parents at night," the official said.

Iran Can Raze Tel Aviv, Haifa in 7 Minutes: Commander
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] A senior adviser to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ elite al-Quds Force, Brigadier General Ahmad Karimpour said the Islamic Theocratic Republic can raze the Zionist entity in less than eight minutes should ’Israel’ launch any aggression.
Iran's and Lebanon's populations aren't hostage to the same threat, naturally.
In a ceremony held in the Iranian city of Bandar Abbas on Thursday, Karimpour stressed his country’s readiness to respond to any aggression "with the same force."

"All targets in Israel have been defined and our long-range missiles will destroy them within 7 minutes and 30 seconds, in case Iran was subjected to any attack."

Referring to threats made earlier by the Supreme Fearless Leader of the Islamic Revolution
...Iran's doddering head theocrat...
, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, Karimpour said: "The Leader said we will retaliate in the same pace."

"Certainly, the United States doesn’t dare and even doesn’t have the capacity to set the level of any attack against the Islamic Theocratic Republic."

"If Needed, Iran can Raze Tel Aviv, Haifa in seven minute," the Iranian commander said.

In tit-for-tat move, EU to end visa-free travel for Americans
[DAWN] The European Parliament on Friday voted to end visa-free travel for American citizens in the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
, The Independent reported.

The decision made by the parliament's civil liberties committee follows the United States' failure to agree to visa-free travel of citizens of five EU countries including Romania, Poland, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Croatia under a reciprocity agreement.

The European Commission had discovered three years earlier that the US was not meeting its obligations under the agreement, but has yet to take legal action regarding the matter.

The parliament's vote means that American citizens will have to apply for travel documents for the next 12 months and it comes after US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
signed an executive order in January banning all immigrants colonists and visa holders from seven Moslem-majority countries from entering the United States for 90 days.

The seven countries initially mentioned in the order were Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, but Iraq was recently dropped from the 'ban' list.

Suspect in bombing attack on Lugansk president dies in interrogation
Former militant commander and Lugansk political deputy Vitaly Kiselev was killed in Lugansk police custody Thursday, according to a Russian language news account.

The korrespondent.net news account said that Kiselev was a prime suspect in the bombing attack on Lugansk president Igor Plotnitskiy in August, 2016.

Quoting a BBC report, Lugansk prosecutors conducted an interrogation that the source said was "overdone," which led to Vitaly Kiselev's death.

Despite early denials that the attack was by Ukrainian operatives, Kiselev's death represents a long line of deaths of Lugansk separatist commanders beginning in January of 2015. At that time, a deputy commander of a separatist military unit, Aleksandr Bednov and six others were killed in an attack by police in Georgievka, which is a suburb south of Lugansk city. Reports at the time said police used a thermobaric rocket to hit the vehicle Bednov was traveling in. At the time of the attack Bednov was chief of staff of the Lugansk 4th Separate Rifle Brigade. He was said to be under suspicion for murder, rape and robbery.

Vitaly Kiselev was said to be a communist, and was one of several commanders, including most of the Cossack military formation commanders said to be Stalinists. Those commanders expected the political changes after the takeover by Russian speaking militants would include communization of agriculture. Nearly every one of those commanders died in violent attacks. Several other minor Cossack formation commanders also died in Donetsk as well. Separatists in both Lugansk and Donetsk say that those deaths can be traced to Plotnitskiy.

Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav has been booked, will be prosecuted: Sartaj Aziz
[DAWN] Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj PrunefaceAziz
...Adviser to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs, who believes in good jihadis and bad jihadis as a matter of national policy...
on Friday briefed the Senate that the government was not considering any option to extradite Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, and said an FIR had been registered against the alleged Indian spy.

While speaking during the Question Hour in Senate, Aziz explained that "it has never been said that there was any lack of evidence against Jadhav".

Senator Talha Mehmood had asked the adviser whether the government was planning to give the same 'red carpet' treatment to Jadhav, which they gave to CIA contractor Raymond Davis.

"We have prepared an FIR and a case in the process of registration to prosecute the Indian state actor for involvement in subversive and terrorist activities in Pakistain," he told the House in response to the query.

The adviser said Pakistain has shared a dossier with the UN Secretary General on the Indian involvement in internal affairs of Pakistain and in subversive and terrorist activities in Pakistain.

"This dossier includes details about Kulbhushan Jadhav and his activities."

He said the government is also examining the possibilities for sharing the dossier with other countries and international organizations.

He explained that dossier was not the only route to deal with the issue, and the actual route is prosecution, for which a case is being prepared.

The adviser also said the dossier has been prepared based on thorough groundwork and input from various state departments.

"This is a very delicate and sensitive issue and requires detailed preparation and homework as it relates to the direct or indirect involvement of an Indian state actor in subversive and terrorist activities in Pakistain."

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan cops have thwarted a plan by the anti-government armed Lion of Islam groups to carry out a series of attacks in northern Baghlan province, specifically during the Nowruz days.

Local security officials in northern Baghlan province said several heavy and light weapons were confiscated as the Lions of Islam were looking to transfer them to Balkh for the attacks.

Provincial counter-narcotics chief General Zamanuddin Zaman told news hounds in Baghlan that the weapons were confiscated by the counter-narcotics forces during a search operation on the highway going towards Balkh province.

He said four RPG launchers, a PKM heavy machine gun, and 35 AK-47 assault rifles were confiscated and an individual was tossed in the clink
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
in connection to the smuggle of the weapons.

He said the weapons were placed inside a mini truck and was on its way from southeaster Khost province
... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name...
to northern Balkh province when it was identified and the weapons were seized.

According to Gen. Zaman, the Lions of Islam were looking to destabilize the northern Balkh province by carrying out a series of attacks, specifically during the Nowruz days when hundreds of thousands of people are visiting the province for Gul-e-Surkh picnic.

Key Taliban leader among 6 killed in US drone strike in Nangarhar
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A key commander of the Taliban group was killed along with his five fighters in a US dronezap in eastern Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
province of Afghanistan.
The Taliban, where all leaders are key...
According to the local government officials, the turbans were targeted on Wednesday afternoon in Chaknoor area of Lalpur district.

Provincial governor’s front man Ataullah Khogyani confirmed that a key local leader of the group identified as Elias was killed in the raid.

He said at least five other turbans were also killed and another one was maimed in the Arclight airstrike.

According to Khogyani, a hideout of the turbans a several weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also destroyed.

Nangarhar is among the relatively calm provinces in eastern Afghanistan but the anti-government armed Lion of Islam groups including the loyalists of ISIS terrorist group are attempting to expand their foothold in this province.

This comes as the Afghan forces with the support of the US forces based in Afghanistan are busy conducting counter-terrorism operations in some remote districts of Nangarhar under the ongoing Shaheen-25 operations.

The US forces based in Afghanistan resumed their operations against the turbans last year after they were granted broader role by the B.O. regime.

North Korean Arrested in Kim Killing Released
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] The only North Korean enjugged
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
over the liquidation of Kim Jong-Nam was released Friday as diplomatic wrangling between Pyongyang and Kuala Lumpur intensified over the murder.

47-year-old Ri Jong-Chol was freed a day after attorney general Mohammed Apandi Ali announced there was insufficient evidence to charge him and that he would be deported on Friday.

The vehicle carrying Ri, who wore a bullet proof vest, was escorted by a six police-car convoy and cycle of violence outriders. Roads were sealed off as the motorcade left the cop shoppe where he has been held.

A senior police official who asked not to be named told AFP that Ri had been handed over to immigration authorities in the administrative capital of Putrajaya.

"I do not know when he will be deported as they will need to sort out the travel documents," he said.

Ri’s release came two days after two women -- one Vietnamese and one Indonesian -- were charged with murdering the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un with a deadly nerve agent.

Seven other North Koreans are wanted in connection with the killing, including a diplomat and an airline employee who are believed to be in Malaysia.

Four others are thought to have fled to Pyongyang on the day of the murder.

Ri was arrested days after Kim suffered an agonizing death when he was attacked at Kuala Lumpur International Airport as he waited to board a flight to Macau.

CCTV footage shows two women approaching the heavyset 45-year-old and apparently smearing his face with a cloth.

Police say he suffered a seizure and died less than 20 minutes later, without reaching hospital.

It’s Time For The US And China To Act On North Korea

#1  ...The problem now is that the What-Comes-Next(TM) could be worse than what we have now. If we had worked with the Chinese even a decade ago on getting rid of the Kims and helping to set up a unified, non-nuclear and neutral Republic of Korea, it still could have been done. Expensive and difficult but possible.

Now, however, North Korea is so far gone that it would take multi-trillion-dollar commitments from us and the PRC, Japan, and the UN as a whole (I know, I know) and decades of work to accomplish - and it might still require writing off as hopeless the entire current population of the DPRK. (Hopeless in the sense that they will never be able to be assimilated, that is) And by now, you know the Kims have set up a stay-behind force to wreck whatever comes after them, regardless of who's involved. And if they do, it's a cinch they have some very, very bad toys to make their point with. Compared to them, ISIS would indeed be the JV.

At this point, quite honestly, I don't know what we can do. It's possible that if the Chinese are as fiendishly clever as we think then they've made the necessary plans and all they need do is make a phone call. But I firmly believe that no matter how 'peaceful' the breakdown, we will be in for decades of terrifyingly expensive effort and vicious fighting.

Something must be done - but we're at a point where there are no longer any 'good' options.

Malaysian police issue arrest warrant for airline worker
[SCMP] Malaysia issued an arrest warrant for a North Korean airline employee on Friday over the liquidation of the half-brother of Pyongyang’s leader, after frustrated police had to release their only other suspect from the isolated nation.

Ri Jong-chol is among eight North Koreans suspected of involvement in the dramatic killing of Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of the reclusive nation’s leader, who was poisoned with a banned nerve agent at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Malaysia’s attorney general has announced there was insufficient evidence to charge 47-year-old Ri.

"The deportation will take place tonight. He will be escorted by two North Korean officials to Beijing and from Beijing to Pyongyang," deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi told news hounds.

"The police probe showed he was not working as stated in his documents but was involved in illicit activities detrimental to our security."

Cambodia’s opposition announces new leader to replace Sam Rainsy
[SCMP] Cambodia’s opposition party chose its new leader on Thursday, less than a month after its former leader Sam Rainsy resigned.

Kem Sokha, former vice president of the Cambodia National Rescue Party, was elected at the party congress to the top post. Three vice presidents were also chosen, including female politician Mu Sochua.

The election of the four came after Sam Rainsy, 67, announced his resignation on February 11 from La Belle France, where he has been in self-exile since November 2015. He faces a number of defamation and disinformation court cases in Phnom Penh filed against him by politicians from the ruling Cambodian People’s Party, and faces arrest if he returns to Cambodia.

Kurdish YPG fighters repel treacherous Turkish attack near Syria’s Afrin
[ARA] Clashes erupted on Friday between the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Turkish military forces in Afrin District, in northwestern Syria.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
’s military entered Syrian territory near Afrin in Aleppo Governorate, and shelled a YPG-held village.

"The Kurdish village of Bilbil in Afrin District was hit by several Turkish shells. At least five civilians were maimed in the attack," local media activist Rojin Ibrahim told ARA News.

"After crossing the border into Syria, the Turkish Army targeted Bibil in preparation to storm the village and take it as a base for further offensives on the Kurdish district of Afrin," she said.

"However,
women are made to be loved, not understood...
the YPG responded by bombing a Turkish military convoy to prevent them from further advancing into Afrin," the source reported.

A YPG spokesperson told ARA News that Friday’s festivities between their fighters and the Turkish forces continued for nearly 2 hours. "Erdogan’s troops were eventually forced to retreat back to their basis near the borderline," the official said.

"We won’t allow Turkey to occupy Rojava or any other part of northern Syria. Our [YPG] forces are prepared for any scenario, we are ready to defend our land against the Turkish occupying forces and their mercenaries," the front man said.

Relying on speed, stealth, and surprise, it is the archetypal guerrilla army, able to deploy quickly to front lines and concentrate its forces before quickly redirecting the axis of its attack to outflank and ambush its enemy. The key to its success is autonomy. Although operating under an overarching tactical rubric, YPG brigades are inculcated with a high degree of freedom and can adapt to the changing battlefield. Iraq
Yezidi girl liberated from ISIS by Kurdish CT unit in Mosul
[ARA] The Kurdistan Region’s Security Council (KRSC) on Friday announced that a Yezidi girl held by ISIS was liberated by Kurdish Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). Moreover, several ISIS leaders were killed by US coalition Arclight airstrikes.

"Our elite CT Unit announces rescue of 12 year-old Yazidi girl, Khatrin Khodeda Murad, in West djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
. She’s from Khanasor in Sinjar district," the KRSC said.

"Khatrin was held by American ISIS terrorist Naser Ebrahim Hamoud Taha al-Hadidi in ISIS’s Jazira Province. She’ll be reunited with her family," the KRSC added.

The CTD, which is part of the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC), have conducted several special operations supported by the US Special Forces.

The KRSC also announced that in cooperation between the Kurdish security services and the US-led coalition, the US-led coalition carried out an Arclight airstrike in Janjili neighborhood West of Mosul killing French foreign fighter Yasir Hagor Muhammed (Abu Bakir Faransi) on 20 February, an ISIS-military planner.

Moreover, US-led coalition jets killed three ISIS leaders, Ahmed Ibrahim Jobani, Syrian Abu Hamza, and Libyan Abu Obeir on Tuesday.

Chemical weapons injure seven in Mosul
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Seven people, among them five children, have been hospitalized over the past two days near Iraq’s djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
with injuries from chemical weapons, the Red Thingy said on Friday.

ISIS, which holds the majority of west Mosul, has periodically used rudimentary chemical weapons in the course of its more than two-year war with Iraqi forces.

"During the past two days, the hospital has admitted five children and two women showing clinical symptoms consistent with an exposure to a blistering chemical agent," Robert Mardini, the Red Thingy Middle East director, said in a statement, referring to a facility near Mosul.

"The use of chemical weapons is absolutely prohibited under international humanitarian law. We are deeply alarmed by what our colleagues have seen, and we strongly condemn any use of chemical weapons, by any party, anywhere," Mardini said.

The statement did not specify whether the seven were maimed in one or more attacks, how the chemical weapons were delivered, or who was responsible.

Several Iraqi military officers said they did not have information about recent chemical weapons attacks in the Mosul area.

ISIS overran large areas north and west of Baghdad in 2014, but Iraqi forces backed by US-led air strikes and other support have since regained much of the ground they lost to the bully boys.

ISIS has periodically used chemical weapons in the course of the conflict, but while this has garnered widespread attention, the bully boys’ bullets and bombs are far deadlier weapons.

-Land of the Free
The Death of the American Press
Long read but well worth the time
[TabletMag] So when does the other shoe drop? Who’s going to break the story proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that the president of the United States is so deeply connected to Russian President Vladimir Putin that the White House has become a Muscovite colony in all but name?

Time to use some common sense—it’s not going to happen, there is no story. The narrative that Donald Trump is effectively Putin’s prison wife is an information operation orchestrated by Democratic hands, many of whom served in the Obama administration, sectors of the intelligence community, and much of the American press. The purpose of the campaign is to delegitimize Trump’s presidency by continuing to hit on themes drawn from the narrative that Russia “hacked” the election and stole it away from Clinton.

The narrative is contorted because it’s not journalism. It’s a story that could only make sense in a profoundly corrupted public sphere, one in which, for instance, Graydon Carter is celebrated for speaking truth to power with an editor’s letter critical of Trump in a magazine that has no other ontological ground in the universe except to celebrate power.

Oh, sure, there are regular hints that there’s still more to come on Trump and his staff’s ties to Russia—the big one is about to hit. But the steady sound of drip-drip-drip is the telltale sign of a political campaign, where items are leaked bit by bit to paralyze the target. Journalists, on the other hand, have to get their story out there as quickly, and as fully, as possible because they’re always worried the competition is going to beat them to it.

No, if Trump really was in bed with the Russians, the story would already be out there, and I’m pretty sure it would have had a Wayne Barrett byline.

When I worked at the Village Voice in the mid-1990s, my office was right around the corner from Barrett’s and his bullpen of interns, a team that kept the heat on local politicians like Rudy Giuliani, Ed Koch, and others. Barrett was the first journalist who wrote at length about Trump, starting in the mid-1970s. His biography, Trump: The Deals and the Downfall, was published in 1992, and reissued in 2016 as Trump: The Greatest Show on Earth: The Deals, the Downfall, the Reinvention.

When Trump won the nomination and the pace of Trump stories picked up, Barrett became something of an official archivist, with reporters visiting his Brooklyn house to go through his files in the basement. Anyone who wanted to know what Trump’s deal with Russia was, for instance, would want to talk to Barrett because either he or his team of interns, 40 years’ worth, would have it. After all, New York City is the world capital for information on Russians, even better than Israel—because even though the city got a smaller number of post-Cold War immigrants, New York got a higher percentage of mobsters.

Let’s compare the institution of Wayne Barrett, a subset of the institution of journalism, to the so-called Russia dossier, the document placing Trump in a shady underworld governed by Putin and other Russian thugs. The former includes not only Barrett’s body of work over nearly half a century, but that of the hundreds of journalists he trained, and many thousands of sources whose information is, therefore, able to be cross-checked.

The latter, a congeries of preadolescent pornographic fantasy and spy tales, was authored by a British intelligence officer who has gone to ground since the dossier was made public. The dossier started as work made for hire, first paid for by Republican opponents of Trump and then the Clinton camp, and is sourced to Russian “contacts” who are clearly using the document as an opportunity to proliferate an information operation for perhaps various and as yet unknown purposes. The former is journalism. The latter, part oppo research and part intelligence dump, is garbage. Clearly, it is also the new standard in the field, which is why journalists on both sides of the political spectrum are boasting about their willingness to let their bylines be used as bulletin boards for spy services and call it a “scoop.”

My confidence in Trump has never been shaken. I am certain he is much more intelligent and will move along in the most effective way possible. He will not cower but will return fire most effectively. The holdovers must be removed as soon as possible. Their only interest is their ideas being preserved and subversion of the current legal government. Legal action at every opportunity. Sikorsky Pitches Area 51 Security Helicopters to Guard ICBMs
[DefenseOne] How can the U.S. Air Force finally end its decade-plus quest to replace the 1960s-era Huey helicopters that guard its midwestern ICBM fields? Sikorsky has a new pitch: buy more of the Black Hawk variant that supports Area 51.

Formally designated the HH-60U, the helicopter already flies in the Air Force’s "Ghost Squadron," a unit that supports missions at the Nevada Test and Training Range and the top-secret Air Force testing base near Groom Lake known as Area 51.

"For us, obviously, that makes it a low-risk approach; the fact that they have three of these and the fact that we’ve already integrated these various components into the aircraft," Sam Mehta, president of Sikorsky defense system and services, said in an interview.

Boeing, Leonardo, Bell, and Airbus are among the other companies likely to compete for a contract to build 84 helicopters. In addition to guarding missile fields, some of the new helicopters would be staged in Washington to evacuate politicians and key government officials if catastrophe struck.

The Air Force has been trying to replace the UH-1 Huey for more than a decade. In 2011, it actually moved to buy Black Hawks for the nuclear-security mission, but eventually shelved that plan in favor of competition. The latest delay came last month, when service officials said they would revise a request for proposals that some companies said would have kept them from bidding.

#1  The Air Force has been trying to replace the UH-1 Huey for more than a decade.

...I think I see your problem right there.

You want to call the F-35 program a disgrace? This is worse by several orders of magnitude, because there is no - REPEAT, NO reason that the USAF can't buy off-the-line UH-60s and put their own comm gear in. There is nothing about the mission or its requirements that require a serious modification to the standard Blackhawk...except for the fact that they want one.

#2  This sounds like a parallel to the OH-58 Kiowa program in the Army. They've been trying to replace them for almost 20 years now, and keep not making any progress.
The Kiowa Warrior is the 'light accompany' and target finder for the Apache, and is supposed to be easy fly and fix.
It's a freakin' Bell Jet Ranger. You know, news helicopter?
When I talked to procurement guy about the replacement requirements, his answer was "just like the Jet Ranger. Only not one."
I note that the upfix versions have now reach the -D model.

US drone kills two militants in Pakistan
[DAWN] PARACHINAR: Two suspected Afghan Taliban fighters were killed in a dronezap near the Pak-Afghan border on Thursday.

According to officials, a US drone targeted a cycle of violence in the Ahmadi Shama area of Lower Kurram at about 1.30pm, killing the two krazed killers. They were identified as Afghan Taliban capo Qari Abdullah and Shakir. Abdullah belonged to the Subari area in Afghanistan’s Khost province
... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name...
The dronezap occurred in the area where the funeral of TTP Kurram chapter head Fazal Saeed Haqqani was held in December last year. He was killed by his own bodyguard.

This is the first dronezap inside Pakistain’s tribal region this year. The previous such attack had killed Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour in Noshki district of Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
on May 21 last year.

Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria told Dawn in Islamabad that the government was ascertaining the situation on the ground.

The very first of the more than 420 attacks occurred in 2004 under the government of President George W. Bush, but it was under President Barack Obama
I bowled a 129. It’s like — it was like Special Olympics, or something...
that their use increased substantially, before tapering off in his second term, according to AFP. Last year there were only three.

Pakistain and India play the same game across their border and the LoC. India blames Pakistain for a string of attacks on its soil, while we blame the Indians for financing and arming nationalist gunnies in Balochistan

Libya Rivals Battle for Key Oil Region
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Extremist militias on Friday attacked Libya’s main oil-production area in the east, prompting the forces of strongman Khalifa Haftar
... served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
who control it to retaliate with air strikes, military sources said.

The attack was spearheaded by the Benghazi Defense Brigades, a coalition of mostly krazed killer militias and gangs, and was backed by tribal fighters and former petroleum installation guards.

They "advanced towards the oil crescent and are 15 kilometers (nine miles) south of the town of Nofliya," said Colonel Moftah al-Megarief, who heads an oil facilities guard controlled by Haftar.

Nofiliya is on the edge of the North African country’s strategic oil crescent, home to the main export terminals of al-Sidra, Brega, Ras Lanuf and Zuwaytina which Haftar’s forces seized in September last year.

"We are trying to repel them and the air force has carried out several sorties," Megarief said, declining to elaborate.

However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
an officer on Haftar’s staff told AFP that MiG-23 warplanes and Mi-35 attack helicopters bombarded a convoy of Benghazi Defense Brigades vehicles south of Nofliya.

"Several vehicles were destroyed," said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Bomb Hoax Targetting Muslim Students - Guess Whodunnit!
The man charged in connection with Wednesday's bomb threats at Concordia University, Hisham Saadi, was a PhD student in economics there, according to the man who sublet Saadi his apartment.

Speaking to CBC's French-language network, Radio-Canada, under the condition of anonymity, the man said he had met Saadi at Concordia to pick up a rent cheque.

He said Saadi is of Lebanese origin.

"I think he has [Canadian] citizenship," he said. "He has been here for many years."

Saadi has been ordered to undergo a psychological assessment. However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
his sublessor brushed off a question about Saadi's mental health.

"He's a PhD student, he doesn't have [psychiatric] problems. He's lonely. Single, I mean," he told Radio-Canada.

Ten Abu Sayyaf gunmen killed in Sulu clash
[GMA News] Ten Abu Sayyaf gunmen were killed, while 18 soldiers were injured during a Friday morning clash in Sulu.

Joint Task Force Sulu commander Cirilito Sobejana said his soldiers were mounting a rescue operation for Abu Sayyaf hostages when they clashed with about 120 Abu Sayyaf gunmen in Patikul town. The gunmen were led by Radullan Sahiron and his sub-leaders Hatib Hajan Sawadjaan and Almuher Yadah. The gun battle lasted about two hours, until the gunmen withdrew.

Sobejana said that among those killed were two of Sahiron's close relatives. A military source said that among the relative's killed was the militant leader's grandson. "He is a minor, a child warrior," the source said.

On Wednesday, military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said a total of 43 Abu Sayyaf rebels have been killed in ecounters with government troops from November 1, 2016 to March 1.

Why Fillon campaign looks like an endless ordeal
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The presidential campaign for Francois Fillon looks more and more like an endless ordeal as the Republican candidate learned on Wednesday that he would be indicted over a range of charges including embezzlement. Fillon is accused of helping himself to hundreds of thousands of euros worth of taxpayers’ cash by setting up a series of fake jobs for his wife and children.

The right wing candidate, who interestingly enough won his party’s primary elections by boasting of an alleged spotless track record of integrity, will face the judges on March 15. His words during the primary elections debates now resonate awkwardly as he then belittled his opponents ‐ Nicolas Sarkozy
...23rd President of the French Republic. Sarkozy is married to singer-songwriter Carla Bruni, who has a really nice birthday suit...
and Alain Juppe who both struggled with a loaded judicial past ‐ by trumpeting that it was "immoral" to run for presidency after a previous indictment.

Bangladesh
New JMB ‘spiritual leader’ remanded
[Dhaka Tribune] A Dhaka court has granted a seven-day remand against New JMB’s alleged "spiritual leader" Maulana Abul Kashem in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder passed the order on Friday afternoon when investigation officer CTTC Inspector Jahangir Alam produced him before the court with a 10-day remand plea.

Earlier he was shown tossed in the slammer
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
in a case at Dhaka’s Mirpur model cop shoppe.

"Maulana Kashem also headed a faction of the original Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh bad boy group," Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Deputy Commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune.

The New JMB group is affiliated with the international terrorist group Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
that eyes establishing Shariah Law in the country, and spreading its jihad to Myanmar’s Rakhine State and parts of India.

Maulana Kashem had been working at the Okharabari Madrasa of Dinajpur. CTTC unit officials in October last year said that Maulana Kashem had been under their surveillance.

Most of its leaders including its military and operations chief Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury have been killed in shootouts with the police or arrested after they killed over two dozen people at a Dhaka restaurant on July 1 last year.

The detectives are now looking for eight to ten second-tier leaders of the New JMB, who were involved in at least three dozen attacks since September 2015.

The once-mighty JMB, which was formed in 1998 and banned in 2005, has now split into several small groups due to the detention of its second ameer Maulana Saidur Rahman in 2010 and the execution of five top leaders, including its founder Shayakh Abdur Rahman, in 2007.

Maulana Kashem declared him chief of the unit after the arrest of Maulana Saidur.

Former Majlish-e-Sura member of the JMB and a death-row convict, Salahuddin alias Salehin now heads the old JMB faction. He has remained absconding since February 2014 when JMB members snatched him from a prison van.

Bangladesh-origin Canadian citizen Tamim Chowdhury came to Bangladesh on October 5, 2013 from Syria and tried to form an umbrella group of bad boy outfits.

Tamim later met Maulana Kashem in July 2015 when he helped Tamim to reunite old JMB members.

After the death of Tamim, the operations wing came under the lead of Faridul Islam Akash and later Nurul Islam Marjan, both killed in raids by the police’s CTTC unit.

Another leader of the outfit Musa alias Mainuddin alias Mosiuddin is now leading its operations.

A dozen other top and second-tier leaders of the New JMB group are still absconding. They include Basharuzzaman alias Abul Bashar alias Chocolate, Sohel Mahfuz alias Hatkata Mahfuz, Ripon, Khalid, Junayed Hasan Khan, Iqbal, Manik, Mamun, Azadul Kabiraz and Badal.

Home Front: Culture Wars
It's all fake
Back in Obama’s first months on the throne, Rick Santelli, a TV personality, was “reporting” from the floor of the stock exchange. He responded to a question about Obama’s housing plan with a rant about socialism, finishing it off with a call for a new Tea Party. Whether it was spontaneous or choreographed is hard to know, but at the time people took it to be entirely spontaneous. Santelli is a carny barker prone to getting carried away on the air and his rant had the feel of an old fashioned stem winder.

Regardless of the intent or the execution, the rant went viral and the Tea Party Movement was born. Middle America was ready to be pissed off due to the terribleness of the Bush years, so Obama’s poor start put the normies in a fighting mood. Before long people were showing up at town hall meetings, dressed as Samuel Adams, giving their congressman the business about reckless government behavior that had made a hash of things. Since the Democrats were the majority, they got the brunt of the abuse.

It did not take long for the moonbats to declare the whole thing a racist conspiracy cooked up by the twelfth invisible Hitler in league with the eternal cyclops of the KKK. This was when the fake hate crime stuff got its start as a daily phenomenon. It was also when it became apparent to a lot of people that the news is mostly fake. The increasingly deranged Nancy Pelosi, slurring about “Astroturf” was so weird, it begged a challenge, but the news people carried on like it was manifestly true.

The claim that middle aged suburbanites, dressed in tricorne hats, were paid agents of a nefarious conspiracy was so nutty that the response from the press should have been laughter and then derision. After all, it has been known for decades that the Left uses rent-a-mobs. They pay people to show up and hold signs. Unions have been doing this since the days of Jimmy Hoffa. For the Democrats to clutch their pearls and call the Tea Party inauthentic should have been too much of a farce for even the very liberal press corp.

I’ve often wondered if that was when a lot of people started to think the corruption in Washington was worse than they imagined. The corruption of the Tea Party by Conservative Inc surely turned a lot of people to the dark side, but the priming agent may well have been the AstroTurf stuff. It was so obvious that the media was coordinating their coverage with the Left, it was hard not to notice it. The game was rigged and nothing in the media was on the level. It was not just bias, it was collusion.

#4  The violence is already there. A week doesn't go by without a report of attacks on Trump supporters. The 3 of incidents would appear small but one wonders how many slip by. Time to start thinking on what the next 3 phases look like

#5  No Rex, I'm not talking about this petty violence. I'm talking about the real lock & load kind where these bastards start trying to take over places by force on a wide scale. There's a long dissertation here waiting to be written about the way that the Federal system can compartmentalize this threat.

That's one thing that Obastard and his brown-shirt buddies tried to remove from the government. We've still to see how well he succeeded.

US tries to ID hundreds of al Qaeda contacts thanks to Yemen raid
[CNN] Several US officials told CNN Thursday that the US is now taking action to locate and monitor hundreds of people or "contacts" found as part the intelligence retrieved during the deadly raid last month in Yemen

Oh? Very interesting, indeed,
The government is taking action to find and monitor these AQAP-linked individuals because of the threat they may pose to Europe, the officials added.
Is it yet illegal under the laws of various European nations to belong to Al Qaeda, which thus far completely lacks political wings?
The fact that officials said they are actively pursuing leads uncovered from the raid indicates that the intelligence was indeed actionable despite some media reports to the contrary.

Defense officials have told CNN that information pertaining to the location of safe havens, explosives manufacturing, training and targets was acquired in the January ground operation.

But the raid has faced questions from politicians about its utility and execution, with several Trump critics questioning the value of the intelligence, whether the right calculation about the raid's risks was made and whether the result was worth the costs. The father of Chief Petty Officer William "Ryan" Owens, who was killed in the firefight, has called for an investigation.

A number of civilians were also killed in the battle, something the Pentagon has acknowledged and is investigating.

Gen. Joseph Votel, who oversees US troops in the region, called the mission "successful" from the military's point of view.

"The object was to go in and collect intelligence. We accomplished that, so from that perspective it was successful. I certainly understand how the family would look at this in a different light," Votel told CBS News.

President Donald Trump

defended the January raid in his Tuesday address to Congress. As Trump spoke, Owens' widow, Carryn, looked up at the ceiling, seemingly to her late husband, as she sat crying.

"Ryan was a part of a highly successful raid that generated large amounts of vital intelligence that will lead to many more victories in the future against our enemies,' " Trump said.

The SUCCESS of the mission should be the overriding perspective. How anyone else 'looks at it' is a detractor and irrelevant.

#4  Nine were killed at Camp Chapman AFG. The 'mission' was a total failure. The left said nothing.

On December 30, 2009, Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi was picked up by Arghawan, an Afghan who was the chief of external security at Camp Chapman, at the border between Miranshah, Pakistan, and Khost, Afghanistan. Arghawan drove al-Balawi to Camp Chapman, arriving around 4:30 pm.

The car was waved through three security checkpoints without stopping before arriving at its destination well within the base. Sixteen people were waiting for the car near a building set up to debrief al-Balawi. Al-Balawi got out of the vehicle and detonated the explosives hidden in his suicide vest.

Rajnath seeks report from J&K on settlement of Rohingyas
[Daily Excelsior] Acting tough, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today sought report from Jammu and Kashmire Government on illegal settlement of Rohingyas and Burmese in Jammu region, an issue which was being raised vociferously by some BJP leaders as well as Opposition parties as they felt that they could become security threat in the State and also lead to change of demographic character in the region.

Top official sources told the Excelsior that at a high level security review meeting at North Block in New Delhi today, Rajnath has sought a detailed report from Jammu and Kashmire Government, where BJP is partner with the PDP, on the number of Rohingyas and Burmese nationals settled in Jammu, the time period from which they were living here, reasons for their settlement and all other related issues.

The Union Home Minister, who was holding first high level review of security situation in Jammu and Kashmire after over a month due to his busy campaigning in Uttar Pradesh elections, was concerned over increase in number of illegal settlement of Rohingyas and Burmese nationals in Jammu region following an alarm raised by various political parties and social organizations especially Union Minister in Prime Minister’s Office and Lok Sabha member from Udhampur-Doda, Dr Jitendra Singh, who too had sought an in-depth probe into settlement of Rohingyas on outskirts of Jammu and need for effective steps by the Government to keep check on them.

Rajnath, who reviewed security situation in Jammu and Kashmire with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and Intelligence Bureau Director Rajiv Jain apart from other top officers of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Intelligence agencies, could act further after receiving detailed report from the State Government on settlement of foreigners in Jammu.

"There were very specific Intelligence inputs that Rohingyas and Burmese, settled on outskirts of Jammu, could become security risk as anti-national elements were out to exploit them," sources said, adding that their activities have come under scanner of security and Intelligence agencies.

According to sources, the Union Home Minister has also sought from the State Government the steps being taken to check any further flow of Rohingyas in Jammu and to ensure that they don’t fall into the hands of Death Eaters and anti-national elements.

The settlement of Rohingyas in Jammu has become a major issue here with some political parties and social organizations demanding their ouster describing them as security threat.

Reacting to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s very tough stance on settlement of Rohingyas in Jammu, Dr Jitendra Singh told the Excelsior that an inquiry should be conducted as to which Government at the Centre and State facilitated their settlement in Jammu as United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) cards (for settlement of Rohingyas) can’t be issued without the consent of Centre and State Governments.

"At the time of settlement of Rohingyas in Jammu, it was UPA Government at the Centre and National Conference-Congress coalition Government at the State," Dr Jitendra Singh pointed out and said the then Union Home Minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram owed a reply to the people of the State on facilitating settlement of Rohingyas in Jammu.

In response to BJP MLA Sat Sharma’s query in the Assembly, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had disclosed that there are 5743 Burmese residing in the State, where they had entered on their own and are staying at various places in the districts of Jammu and Samba.

The Government had named a number of NGOs, which have been funding stay of Rohingyas in Jammu and Samba districts.

The Government reply had said apart from 5,700 Rohingya Moslems, 322 other foreigners are presently living in Jammu and Samba districts. The reply had also stated that 17 FIRs have been registered against 38 Rohingyas for various offences including those related to illegal border crossing, she added.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) front man Dawlat Waziri said at least 17 loyalists of the terror group were killed in an operation conducted by the Special Forces in Arghandab district of Zabul.

He said the operations were conducted late on Thursday targeting the murderous Moslems in Malik Khel village of Arghandab.

Waziri further added that two hideouts of the terror group were destroyed along with several weapons and ammunition.

According to Waziri, one Afghan soldier also sustained injuries during the clash but his health condition is satisfactory.

Waziri also added that six loyalists of the terror group were killed in an Arclight airstrike conducted in Lalpur district of Nangarhar province.

Zabul is among the relatively volatile provinces in southern Afghanistan where the Taliban Death Eaters and ISIS loyalists are actively operating in a number of its districts.

The loyalists of ISIS terrorist group have recently increased their operations and presence in some of the key districts of Zabul province during the recent months, sparking concerns among the local residents and tribal elders who met with Chief Executive Abdullah earlier requesting the government to take immediate steps before the terror group further expand its foothold in this province.

About that man arrested for bomb threats against 8 US Jewish centers
What was known at the end of the day yesterday, and a place to put any new discoveries today.
[IsraelTimes] Suspect Juan Thompson apparently made threats as a campaign to harass former girlfriend, using her name; investigation into robocalls to other JCCs ongoing.

US law enforcement agencies have tossed in the clink
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
a man suspected of being behind at least eight bomb threats against Jewish organizations in recent weeks, Federal authorities said Friday.

Authorities named the suspect as Juan Thompson, 31, and said that the threats were made as a campaign to harass a former girlfriend, using her name to make some of the threats.

"Today, we have charged Juan Thompson with allegedly stalking a former romantic interest by, among other things, making bomb threats in her name to Jewish Community Centers and to the Anti-Defamation League," New York-based US Attorney Preet Bharara said in a statement. "Threats of violence targeting people and places based on religion or race ‐- whatever the motivation ‐- are unacceptable, un-American and criminal."

Thompson was arrested in St. Louis, Missouri and was expected to appear in a Missouri court later Friday on one count of cyberstalking.

The FBI, NYPD and New York state police "informed us arrest made in bombthreat vs ADL & several other Jewish institutions," ADL director Jonathan Greenblatt tweeted. "Thx to them for amazing work."

The ADL was one of the institutions target by Thompson.

Since January there have been five waves of bomb threats to Jewish community centers and other institutions nationwide, totaling over 100 incidents. Other anti-Semitic attacks have also sparked worry in Jewish communities.

"Today, we have charged Juan Thompson with allegedly stalking a former romantic interest by, among other things, making bomb threats in her name to Jewish Community Centers and to the Anti-Defamation League," New York-based US Attorney Preet Bharara said.
On Thursday, a cemetery in Rochester, NY was vandalized, and in the previous week hundreds of Jewish tombstones in Pennsylvania and Missouri were toppled.

University City, Missouri, police Lt. Fredrick Lemons told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that detectives will question Thompson about the 154 headstones toppled last month at a Jewish cemetery in the St. Louis suburb. He declined to say whether Thompson was considered a suspect.

Police told CNN that no one had been arrested for the series of robocalls to dozens of other JCCs and the investigation was ongoing.

There have been multiple other anti-Semitic incidents in the months since the US presidential election, including swastikas and racial slurs being drawn on schools and other buildings.

According to court documents seen by The Times of Israel, Thompson sent a series of emails and calls to a number of organizations accusing his ex-girlfriend of targeting Jewish institutions, spreading sexually transmitted diseases and carrying out hacking attacks.

"As set forth below it appears Juan Thompson, the defendant, has made at least eight JCC threats nationwide as part of harassment against the victim," said a statement to the court by an FBI agent who had been investigating him

Some were made in the victim’s name, while others were made in his own name. Thompson told the FBI the victim was trying to get him arrested.

He also tweeted that his ex-girlfriend was trying to frame him and that she had threatened to kill US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
On February 21, he sent an email to the ADL naming the victim as the person making the bomb threats. Then, on February 22, he made a phone call to the ADL saying there was C-4 explosives in the ADL’s New York office that would be "detonated within one hour."

Searches of the building revealed nothing.

The agent said Thompson was also responsible for threats to Jewish centers in Dallas and San Diego, the Jewish History Museum and a Jewish school in Manhattan.

In one call to a Jewish school in Michigan that was made in Thompson’s name, the caller said he was "eager for a Jewish Newtown" referencing the massacre in Newton, Connecticut in which 20 children were murdered.

The testimony said threatening calls were also made to Council on American-Islamic Relations
... the Moslem Brüderbund's American arm ...
(CAIR
...designated a terrorist group by the UAE...

Thompson, a former journalist, was fired from the online publication The Intercept last year after being accused of fabricating several quotes and creating fake email accounts to impersonate people, including the Intercept’s editor-in-chief. One of the falsified stories involved Dylann Roof, the Charleston, South Carolina, church shooter.

The Intercept wrote Friday: "We were horrified to learn this morning that Juan Thompson, a former employee of The Intercept, has been arrested in connection with bomb threats against the ADL and multiple Jewish Community Centers in addition to cyberstalking. These actions are heinous and should be fully investigated and prosecuted."

The ADL said Friday that Thompson had been on its radar since he fabricated the story about Roof. According to ADL research, Thompson claimed that he wanted to dismantle the system of "racial supremacy and greedy capitalism that is stacked against us." He said he was going to run for mayor of St. Louis last year to "fight back against Trumpian fascism
...a political system developed in Italy symbolized by the Roman fasces -- thin reeds, each flimsy in itself but unbreakable when bound into a bundle. The word is nowadays thrown around by all sorts of people who have no idea what they're talking about...
and socio-economic terrorism."

He created a GoFundMe page to raise $5,000 for his election bid. He got $25, the ADL said.
Another Times of Israel article points out he has falsified tweet identities before:
After news of his arrest was revealed on Friday, a news hound at an alternative weekly in St. Louis said he was subjected to social media harassment after writing about Thompson’s firing from a news site for fabricating stories.

The Riverfront Times news hound Doyle Murphy said Thompson set up anonymous accounts on Twitter and other social media posing as a woman who claimed she had been sexually assaulted by Murphy. Murphy says he contacted Twitter but every time one fake account was taken down a new one popped up. He called the harassment a "nightmare."

Thompson appears to tweet daily, often railing against "white people" and the "white liberal DC/NY media elite," sparring with supporters of US President Donald and tweeting directly on a number of occasions at Trump himself.

He worked at the New York-based The Intercept from November 2014 to January 2016.
NPR has a list miscreant's bomb threats, and adds:
Thompson has been charged with one count of cyberstalking. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.

Thompson is accused of making the following threats against Jewish centers, none of which were found to be credible:

Jan. 28: Manhattan's Jewish History Museum received an emailed bomb threat stating that Thompson had placed two bombs there.

Feb. 1: A Jewish school in Farmington Hills, Mich., received an emailed bomb threat claiming that Thompson "put two bombs in your school last night. He is eager for Jewish newtown."

Feb. 1: A Jewish school in Manhattan received two messages in 10 minutes claiming that Thompson had placed bombs in the building.

Feb. 7: A Jewish community center in Manhattan received an emailed threat claiming that Thompson had stashed two bombs in the center's office.

Feb. 20: The JCC in San Diego received an email stating that the woman had placed a bomb in the center.

Feb. 21: The Council on American-Islamic Relations received an email stating that the woman "has put a bomb in the Jewish center in Dallas."

Feb. 21: The Anti-Defamation League received an email that said the woman "is behind the bomb threats against jews. She lives in nyc and is making bomb threats tomorrow."

Feb. 22: The ADL received a call claiming there was explosive material "in the ADL's New York office, and that it would be 'detonated within one hour.' "
Update at 3:15 p.m. ET from the NPR article:
The Federal Communications Commission has also gotten involved, granting a waiver to Jewish Community Centers allowing them to see who might be calling from blocked phone numbers.

Is Trump’s appointment of Generals alpha-male validation of his ego?
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] It has already been reported widely that Trump has appointed more generals to his Cabinet than any President since the end of WW2. Now, in a sense, nobody can be surprised about this. In just the same way in which they cannot be surprised about the fact that he has the largest numbers of billionaires and millionaires in any administration ever. It fits in perfectly both with Trump the man, and with Trump the candidate.

Yet it still bears analysing why the generals are there and what purpose they serve. And indeed, there are several non-exclusive explanations available. The most generous is that Trump understands that he has relatively little legitimacy. He has won the Electoral College vote, but he is obviously still very insecure about the 3 million deficit he had to Hillary Clinton

Eight killed in single day of violence in Thai south
[The Nation] An 8-year-old boy and his parents were among eight people killed in separate attacks in southern Thailand that left four wounded Thursday, just two days after government and insurgent negotiators agreed to set up a limited ceasefire.

Police blamed the attacks in Narathiwat and Pattani provinces on groups seeking to instigate violence following Tuesday's news out of Kuala Lumpur that a panel representing some southern Thai rebel groups had struck a breakthrough with negotiators from Thailand's military government. Both sides announced they would work together to establish a safety zone in one of the five southernmost districts as a test case to see if they could implement a wider ceasefire.

The attacks began Thursday morning as Somchai Thongchan, the deputy chief of Ban Sri Pinyo village in Narathiwat, his wife, sister-in-law, and 8-year-old son were attacked and killed. A daughter, 12, and a niece, 6, were wounded.
As seen here yesterday
Police Captain Wanchai said, "The incident took place while Somchai and five others were driving to send the children to school. On a remote hill, unknown assailants fired weapons at them, resulting in death and injury. We believe it was the work of insurgents who wanted to instigate violence."

Hours later, Kasem Toyo, a security guard in nearby Yala province, was gunned down before dusk as he was traveling home in the Mayo district of Pattani.

The violent day ended when three rangers were killed and a postman and civilian were wounded while shopping in the Ban Tabae market place in Pattani’s Mayo district.

Police Captain Muhammad Madwang said, "As per witness accounts, seven to eight assailants shot those killed and injured while they were walking in the market."

A spokesman for the military's regional command promised justice. saying, "The act of these assailants indicates that they are cowardly, wild, lacking in ideology. They should not cite ideology for the Malay people. We will go after them and bring them to justice as soon as possible."

Thursday’s killings occurred a day after police found the bodies of Kajpon Puvavimol and wife Titapha in Thepa district, Songkhla province. They were beaten, tied up with duct tape and thrown into the Thepa River as assailants hijacked their pickup truck and made off with it. Police found the truck which had been loaded with bombs that failed to detonate, officials said.

Thai junta leader and Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha denounced the killings. He said, "We need to prevent such bullet-spraying attacks. At the moment, we are not done with peace talks. We still need solutions to the problem."

Prayuth stressed the need for safety zones and called them a test to determine if MARA Patani, the panel representing insurgent groups and factions, could contain violence in the far South. He said, "If they do have potential, talks will go on. If not, they must find a way to non-violence."

MARA Patani spokesman Abu Hafiz al-Hakim reiterated the panel's commitment to resolving the conflict through dialogue and the establishment of safety zones following Tuesday's agreement. On social media he said, "We are saddened by today morning’s incidence in Ruso district, Narathiwat, where four people were killed and two injured. We do not condone violence involving civilians and children and strongly condemn the attack. We express our condolences to the victims and their families. We urge the authorities to thoroughly investigate the incidents and bring the perpetrators to justice."

Trump condemns Democrats for 'total witch hunt' over attorney general
[DAWN] US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
on Thursday lashed out at Democrats over their demands for US Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign, calling their actions a "total witch hunt."

Sessions on Thursday announced he would recuse himself from any probe into the presidential election campaign as the White House moved to forestall a snowballing controversy over its ties to Russia.

Following newly revealed meetings he held with Russia's ambassador before the election, Sessions denied any impropriety or that he lied about those encounters in his Senate confirmation hearing.

The Republican US president declared his "total" confidence in Sessions ─ while adding that he "wasn't aware" of contacts between Ambassador Sergey Kislyak and Sessions, who was a senator actively supporting Trump's campaign at the time.

He defended Sessions again in a statement late on Wednesday, calling Sessions an "honest man" and accusing Democrats of having "lost their grip on reality" and carrying out "a total witch hunt!"

Sessions "did not say anything wrong. He could have stated his response more accurately, but it was clearly not intentional."

Unswayed by Sessions's account of events, top Democrats are maintaining their calls for him to step down immediately, accusing him of perjury.

Houthis targeting tribes and suppressing public officials

Ten tribes, based in four different provinces, suffered the most from the despot Houthi’s callous military and economic campaigns inflicting human loss, displacement of families, and mass property damages.

These tribes are:
Sana’a: Arhab and Bani Dubian
Dhumar: Atmah and al-Haddah
Ibb: Al Khafar, al Shawour, al-Adin, Ba’dan, al Radmah, al Oud, al Siyahi
Al Hudaydah: al-Zaranik

Furthermore, the militia also resorted to various economic means to penalize and repress opponents from civil servants terminating the service of thousands of them and replacing them with henchmen, in addition to halting salary payments to hundreds of thousands of workers in civil and military sections.

Democrats Flip Zero Seats in Four Blue State Special Elections
[FREEBEACON] There were four elections that Democrats hoped to win to show their resistance to Trump could be translated into electoral victories. The elections were in Virginia, Minnesota, and, most recently, Connecticut‐all states Hillary Clinton
... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, sometimes described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as a crook...
won in the 2016 presidential election.

Virginia

The Democratic Party targeted two seats in Virginia in early January. The first election was House District 85 in Virginia Beach, where the vote for Trump and Clinton was evenly split. According to RSLC, liberal groups coordinated 11,392 donations of $100 or less for the campaign. The Democratic candidate, Cheryl Turpin, also had a big fundraising advantage‐$104,000 to $66,000‐but the Republican, N.D. "Rocky" Holcomb, still won by a margin of six points.

The second election was a state Senate race for the 22nd district, where Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe campaigned for the Democrat, Ryant Washington. Despite the Democratic Party spending 42 percent more money, the Republican, Mark Peake, still won the race by 13.5 percent.

Minnesota

Last month in Minnesota, Democrats brought out all their surrogates for the House District 32B race. Gov. Mark Dayton, U.S. Sen. Al Franken, and U.S. Rep. Rick Nolan all campaigned for Democratic candidate Laurie Warner. Republican Anne Neu won the seat by six points, giving Republicans the largest majority after a presidential cycle in state history.

Connecticut

Republican State Rep. Eric Berthel beat his Democratic opponent, Greg Cava, by 12 points for an open Connecticut state Senate seat in the 32nd district. A liberal Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Super PAC spent over $53,000 in the race to support Cava, according to RSLC.

Democrats did maintain control of a seat in the Delaware state Senate, which the party has controlled since 1972, RSLC noted. The Democratic Party reportedly spent 20 times more than the typical Delaware state Senate race on the special election.

In recent years Republicans have made significant gains at the state-level. The Democrat party lost a net total of 1,042 state and federal Democratic posts‐including congressional and state legislative seats, governorships, and the presidency‐while Barack Obama

Gang members charged with killing woman in Satanic ritual
[NYPOST] Two undocumented Democrat members of the ruthless MS-13 gang were locked away
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
in Texas this week and charged with killing a woman as part of a Satanic ritual, according to reports.

The El Salvadoran suspects, Diego Rivera and Miguel Alvarez-Flores, allegedly killed a woman they were holding hostage in an apartment when she spoke out against the group’s devil worship, ABC 13 reported.

After the woman, known only as "Genesis," made the comments, Alvarez-Flores -- the group’s ringleader -- attempted to give a lit cigarette to a Satanic statue as an offering.

But he said Satan wasn’t having the offering, telling his fellow gangbangers that "the Beast" wanted a soul instead, the station reported.

He and Rivera then brought Genesis to the side of a road, where Alvarez-Flores, whose nickname is "Diabolical," allegedly handed his accomplice a gun, officials said.

Rivera shot Genesis once in the head on the side of the road before Alvarez-Flores blasted her in the chest, the station reported.

Cops found the body Feb. 16 but are still struggling to positively identify her.

Another 14-year-old girl claimed she bravely ran away from school late last month and met the duo at an apartment in southwest Houston, according to court documents cited by ABC 13.

She stayed there for four days and claimed another man known as "Flaco" sexually assaulted her there, according to the station.

She was then taken to the apartment where Genesis was being held, and remained there against her will for 14 days. Her captors -- six members of the gang -- force-fed her drugs and alcohol, and at one point, Alvarez-Flores tattooed an image of the Grim Reaper from her knee down to her foot, the station reported.

Alvarez-Flores and Rivera -- who are in the country illegally, according to KHOU -- were arrested during a SWAT raid Monday.

They were taken to the Harris County Jail, where they are being held on $150,000 bond, according to ABC 13.

An immigration hold on both suspects will keep them from getting out of jail, according to KHOU.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pond, the enormous newt was trying to decide if Gloria was edible...
10 members of the same gang -- also illegal immigrants colonists -- were indicted Thursday in a wave of Long Island violence that included the slaughter of two teenage girls.

Best friends Nisa Mickens, 15, and Kayla Cuevas, 16, were beaten with baseball bats and hacked with a machete during an attack that began when gang members spotted them walking together in Brentwood.

The illegal immigrants colonists indicted in the case are all from El Salvador or Honduras, and are among 13 people charged with crimes including racketeering and multiple counts of conspiracy to murder.

One of them was deported to El Salvador back in 2010 and sneaked back into the US by July 14, 2014, when he allegedly murdered Jose Lainez-Murcia, with whom he had worked at a landscaping company in Kings Park.

#1  yes soft power is needed

but you know what's needed more? strong borders and proper immigration policy that does not let in mass migrants from non-Western cultures.

we need to rest and stabilise our cultures.

Military solutions can't work without this and nor can soft power because those who benefit from the system will fight you internally like the fifth column they are

soft power can only work if your government backs you up by stopping the migration in of the enemy, and prosecuting for treason those who push sharia.

stage 1 is to protect the homeland
then stage 2 of projecting soft power out can work

you cannot project soft power if your own centre is rotting

Not surprisingly the political aspiring generals have defaulted to the diplomatic, global view. Diplomacy failed, hence the flying projectiles. Even a dog is generally wise enough not to return to his own vomit. If there is to be one, let the victor dictate the policy. Not Geneva.

#10  'Soft Power' as practiced by the West since 2001 is provocative weakness.

'Soft Power' means perpetual militarization of Western public spaces, the imposition of perpetual draconian police state surveillance and harassment on Western populations and the submission of Westerners to Sharia Finlandization because we don't want to give offense.

'Soft Power' is also provoking third parties to adopt a much more aggressive posture vis-a-vis a West perceived as meek and submissive and masochistic.

Hence war in Eastern Europe and the prospect of a big and nasty WMD war in East Asia.

'Soft Power' has been tried and failed miserably.

Europe
Austrian court convicts 8 Iraqi men in tourist's gang rape
An Austrian court found eight Iraqi nationals guilty on Thursday of gang-raping a German tourist on New Year's Eve more than a year ago and sentenced them to prison terms of between nine and 13 years.

Charges against a ninth suspect were dismissed, said a court statement. The victim — a 28-year-old woman — was awarded 25,000 euros (over $26,000) in damages.

Both sides were appealing the decision, the statement said.

All nine Iraqi men, who ranged in age from 22 to 48, came to Austria as migrants between May and December 2015. Five subsequently were given refugee status.

The prosecution argued that the eight men convicted exploited the fact that the victim had been drinking heavily on Dec. 31, 2015 and was unable to defend herself.

Rape is punishable by a maximum 15-year prison term in Austria. Explaining the verdict and sentencing, Judge Petra Poschalko said that only two of the defendants had helped the court establish the facts and only one had confessed.

The court heard testimony that four of the men took the woman to a Vienna apartment where they were joined by the others and that all took turns raping her. When the alcohol started wearing off, she found herself naked in a bed.

Defense lawyer Andreas Reichenbach observed that the gang rape was committed at around the same time as the high-profile sexual assaults in Cologne by groups of migrants. Reichenbach suggested the sentences imposed Thursday served in part as an "additional message" for asylum-seekers.

"As we all know, asylum-seekers don't have the best image here in Austria," he said. "I think that this surely played a certain role, to make it clear to these people that when they come to Austria that such behavior won't be tolerated," he said.

All but one of the defendants denied raping the woman. Some acknowledged having sex with her, but argued it had been consensual. Prosecutor Karina Fehringer said that was impossible, describing the victim as being defenseless in an "unconscious, shock-rigid" state.

Migrants and refugees from other countries expressed concern that the crime will make Austrians hostile toward all newcomers.
Especially hostile towards rapists...
"When such people come here and screw up like that, then everybody will think that Chechens, Afghans, all refugees from war areas are all the same," Mansur Salamou, an asylum-seeker from Chechnya, said. "But it's not like that. For example, the majority of us — we also cause problems, commit crimes. But no rape! Only criminal assaults and robberies."

the "spiritual leader" of a banned Islamist outfit alleged to have carried out a series of deadly attacks in the country.

Police detained Maolana Abul Kashem, 60, from a hideout in the capital on Thursday night after an investigation linked him to the Jamayetul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) group.

Mohibul Islam Khan, deputy commissioner of the Dhaka police counter-terrorism unit, said Kashem had inspired the attack on a Dhaka cafe last July in which 22 people including 18 foreign hostages were killed.

"He was the spiritual leader of the JMB," Khan said. "In our primary investigation we have found all [the Death Eaters] were inspired by him."

Khan said Kashem had met the alleged criminal mastermind of the cafe attack Tamim Chowdhury "several times". Bangladesh has suffered a spate of attacks on secular activists, foreigners and religious minorities in recent years.

Bangladeshi security forces have launched a nationwide crackdown on Islamist Death Eater groups since the cafe attack, arresting scores of suspected Death Eaters.

Several top leaders of the JMB have also been killed, most in what police said were shoot-outs. Rights groups have voiced suspicions these may have been staged. Another counter-terrorism police officer Sanwar Hossain said Kashem had headed an Islamic seminary before joining the JMB in 1998.

Turkey’s Erdogan accuses Germany of ‘aiding and harboring terror’
[ARA] Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
on Friday accused Germany of "aiding and harboring terror" and claimed a journalist who was detained this week on terror-related charges was a German agent.

"They need to be put on trial for aiding and harboring terror," Erdogan said, criticizing German authorities who had allowed outlawed Kurdish leaders to speak yet had blocked rallies where Turkish ministers sought to address the Turkish community.

The president, speaking in Istanbul, also claimed Deniz Yucel, a correspondent for Germany’s Die Welt newspaper, who was detained on Monday, was a "German agent."

Earlier on Friday, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
accused Germany of working for a "No" vote ahead of an April referendum on whether to boost President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s powers in an executive presidency.

"They don’t want Turkey to campaign here, they are working for a ’No’. They want to get in the way of a strong Turkey," Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told news hounds in Ankara after German local authorities blocked rallies where Turkish ministers were due to speak.

German Govt Says Not Involved in Decision to Scrap Turkish Rallies

[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] The German government Friday denied having anything to do with municipal authorities’ decisions to block rallies by Turkish ministers to promote a referendum on expanding President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First’s powers.

"That is a decision the federal government has absolutely no influence on ... because it falls under local or state jurisdiction on which we have zero influence," said foreign ministry front man Martin Schaefer.

Dutch govt opposed to planned Turkish referendum rally in Rotterdam

[Ynet] The Dutch government said on Friday it opposed plans by Turkish authorities to hold a referendum campaign rally in Rotterdam, saying it would inform Ankara of its opposition to the "undesirable" move.

Earlier, the leader of an association of Dutch Turks said Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was planning to attend the March 11 rally, hoping to persuade the Netherlands' hundreds of thousands of dual citizens to vote for a new constitution that would give Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First greater powers.

Turkey Accuses Berlin of Working against Bid to Boost Erdogan Powers
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

on Friday accused Germany of working for a "No" vote ahead of an April referendum on whether to boost President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First

’s powers in an executive presidency.

"They don’t want Turkey to campaign here, they are working for a ’No’. They want to get in the way of a strong Turkey," Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told news hounds in Ankara after German local authorities blocked rallies where Turkish ministers were due to speak.

The Turkish public will vote on April 16 on whether to create a system which Ankara says will be like that of La Belle France and the United States and ensure political stability.

However,
the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits...
critics say the system will weaken parliament further and lead to one-man rule.

Tensions have increased in recent days between Turkey and Berlin after Ankara’s provisional detention of a German journalist on terrorism-related charges on Monday.

Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag scrapped his visit to address the Turkish community in the western German town of Gaggenau on Thursday after local authorities withdrew an agreement to allow the rally.

He had also been due to meet his German counterpart.

Cologne
...a lovely city in Germany. They invented perfume there...
city authorities meanwhile said they would no longer allow the Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) to use a hall on Sunday, when Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci was expected to make a speech.

The row deepened after the Turkish government summoned Germany’s ambassador to Ankara on Thursday in protest at the cancellation of the rallies.

Cavusoglu hit back at the moves by German officials, accusing them of double standards and failing to "honor democracy, freedom of expression or freedom of assembly".

Ahead of an election later this year, Cavusoglu warned Germany to "stay far away from populism" and told Germany it would "need to learn how to behave towards Turkey" if Berlin wanted to maintain relations.

"You must see us as an equal partner," he added.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Sen Coons: FBI has transcripts between Russia and Trump... but he hasn't seen them
Seriously, these people have gone completely fucking nuts
[HotAir] There's a caveat to this claim: Sen. Coons hasn't actually seen the transcripts. Nevertheless, Coons tells MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell he "believes" they exist.
I believe I am a living god with access to the wealth of the universe. Doesn't mean that reality agrees with me.
"Is the FBI Director being forthcoming enough with the intelligence committees?" Mitchell asks. Sen. Coons replies, "I think it's important that the outcome of that counter-intelligence investigation be fully shared with the intelligence committees, both in the House and the Senate.
You mean the same idiot FBI director that was put in place by Obumble and ran interference for him? That guy?
"There are transcripts that provide very helpful, very critical insights into whether or not Russian intelligence and senior Russian political leaders, including Vladimir Putin, were cooperating, were colluding with the Trump campaign at the highest levels to influence the outcome of our election. And if that information is stonewalled or hidden away and if we are not able to get that on the Senate intelligence committee, House intelligence committee then I think that has real consequences for our democracy."

Sen. Coons then urged Director Comey to complete the investigation and share all of the "products" with the intelligence committees. Andrea Mitchell then asked Coons to clarify what he was saying. "Do such transcripts exist? Is that what you're saying?" she asked.

"I have not seen them. I believe they exist," Coons replied.

So far as I know this is the first time anyone has claimed the FBI has proof of such collusion, but the general complaint about the FBI not being forthcoming enough has been made previously by Rep. Adam Schiff on the House side. From the LA Times:

"We cannot represent to the American people that we're doing a thorough job if the Department of Justice or the FBI is unwilling to tell us what indeed they've looked at, what leads they have followed, where they have found substance and where they have not," Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) told reporters shortly after his committee was briefed by FBI Director James Comey.

The New York Times story that really got this ball rolling a couple weeks ago claimed the FBI was investigating contacts between Russia and the campaign but also reported no evidence of collusion had been found:

American law enforcement and intelligence agencies intercepted the communications around the same time they were discovering evidence that Russia was trying to disrupt the presidential election by hacking into the Democratic National Committee, three of the officials said. The intelligence agencies then sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election.

The officials interviewed in recent weeks said that, so far, they had seen no evidence of such cooperation.

Has something changed or is Sen. Coons speculating about transcripts he admits he has not seen? Also, how does he know they exist or have any idea what they say if the FBI is withholding them?
With apologies to Trailing Wife... cover your eyes.
Eyes now covered. Carry on, my dear.
How in the fucking, goddamn hell does this make any bloody sense? I mean seriously? If the FBI had such documents, or more than likely the NSA did, with the deep state doing everything it bloody well fucking can to take down a legally elected president, how has this now been leaked?
I mean it may make sense for someone with liquid shit for brains, but for most people this is mostly a sign the Senator needs to be removed from his seat and locked away in a mental hospital where he isn't a harm to himself or others.

If this is the best these stains on the bedsheets can produce, they cannot be reasoned with and must be taken out back and old Yellered. They are a true danger to the free world. Someone please show me they all aren't pants on the head retarded. Please.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Former Rep. Corrine Brown Blames Corruption Charges on Redistricting and Racism
[FREEBEACON] Former Rep. Corrine Brown (D., Fla.) blamed the federal corruption and conspiracy charges against her on redistricting and racism. In a Wednesday interview with Summer Knowles of WESH2 news, Brown claimed her reputation was ruined.

"They have just taken my name and destroyed it. My name is all I have," she said.

Brown said she will plead not guilty to the charges centering around a charity called One Door Education. The charity was supposed to give scholarships to students, but Sherlocks say it was used as a personal fund for Brown, her chief of staff, and the charity's president, according to WESH2 News.
Political slush fund, then...
The Virginia-based charity accepted over $800,000 in donations over four years,
...and the tax returns of the donors now need to be audited...
but "only two checks totaling $1,200 went toward charitable purposes, the Justice Department said in its indictment," according to the Washington Free Beacon.

Brown insists the charity was legitimate, saying, "Let's be clear. Anything that I solicited money for, it occurred."

The charity's president took a plea deal, but Brown's chief of staff Elias "Ronnie" Simmons plead guilty and also testified against Brown. This shocked Brown.

"He was like my son for over 20-something years," she told Knowles.
I bet your son wouldn't go to prison for you, either...
Brown insisted she is being charged because of redistricting.

"You changed my district completely. The next was this indictment. It's just unbelievable how they seem to make up the rules as they go," she said. "And so I am looking forward to my day in court."

By "they," Brown said she means the Justice Department.

Knowles asked why they would target her.

"I guess I'm a black woman with a mouth," Brown replied.

This isn't the first time Brown has blamed racism for her charges. When the 24 counts of fraud were initially brought down on her in July 2016, she created a fundraising website to fight the charges. On the site, a message dictates that the B.O. regime's Justice Department was targeting her because of her race, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

"During my entire political career, I have fought racism, injustice and advocated for individuals who normally get left behind," the message reads. "It should come as no surprise that some took offense to my efforts to stand up for you."

She blamed the Justice Department for taking away her freedom and urged her supporters to donate money to help her overcome this issue.
But perhaps to a different charity...
"I am fighting the Department of Justice, which has unlimited resources. They have smeared my good name. They are trying to take my freedom. I am asking for your help to fight these false charges. On this website, you can make a donation to my legal defense fund. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated," the message concludes.

Brown's trial is set to begin April 24 in Jacksonville.

#1  it really annoys me when people blame "feminists" for silencing people like this 27-year-old

It is not and never has been "feminists" this is just an ugly way for some conservatives to try to turn back the clock to 1950 and has nothing to do with the situation.

This problem is caused by mass migration and "multiculturalists" not feminists

feminists have nothing to do with it. I see so many women speaking out against this and they are never supported or given air time by Milo or Gavin McInnes

when was the last time they hosted any of the following women (from both left and right) who speak out against Islamofascism:

Homa Arjomand, Maryam Namazie, Asra Nomani, Raheel Raza, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Sarah Haider, Pamela Geller, Brigitte Gabrielle, Nonie Darwish, Anne-Marie Waters

all of these women are "feminists"

ALL of them have worked hard against the Islamists.

So i'm sick of hearing that shit.

#3  You are saying that there are good feminists. You are certainly right about that. But are there bad feminists also?
Are there people who denounce anyone who says something they dislike as a racist and homophobe and islamophobe?
You probably think they are phonies and Democrats, which is probably true.
But they are the poster children for feminism today mostly because they refuse to be ignored.

#4  I agree with Grins Snese4215, anon1. I'm afraid that the current wave of feminism is less interested in women than in things like

Then, as now, I felt that white heterosexual cis women’s faces were those that typically represented anti-rape advocacy, perhaps to the detriment of the broader movement -- women of color, trans women and queer women may hesitate to get involved where they do not see themselves reflected, and cis and trans men may struggle to find a place in the movement.

...written by a "black queer feminist intellectual activist" who also happens to be a male sociology professor. Women such as Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Nonie Darwish are rejected by such modern "feminists", who also reject the idea that females by definition were born with two X chromosomes and a uterus.
Posted by: trailing wife || 03/04/2017 6:59 Comments || Top||

#5  no, grom. Multiculturalists decided that instead of simply defending the borders that they would try to grow the population with migration

and culture be damned.

you know what is to blame? the people who wanted migration to make a quick economic boom and import cheap labor: instead of simply living with a stable or declining population and letting it correct itself naturally.

Nothing to do with feminists unless you think it's a great idea to chain women to their reproductive capacity and/or take away their right to equality. Newsflash: we're never going back. That's what's bullsh*t.

The people who opened up the borders did so because they wanted population increase through migration for economic reasons.

Trying to shift the blame where it is not due is just like the people who say the lastest Islamist attack is because of "mental illness"

1) it lets the real culpret off the hook,

2) it's a lie, and

3) it ensures that the same mistake goes on being made and is never addressed.

#6  Newsflash: we're never going back. That's what's bullsh*t.

Don't know much history do you? And women are going back, because - at present - there are lots of women in jobs (from school teachers to university professors) to which they are less suited than the men who used to hold these jobs in the past. So, either the western societies fix this, or go under.

#7  incorrect, grom. Women are entitled to an equal and fair shot at jobs, and if they are able to do them then they are entitled to be hired. And we are entitled to be paid equal amounts for equal work, and we are never going back.

And the fact that you would excuse the real villains: Islamists and multiculturalists

while blaming something else you want to attack that has nothing to do with the real problem here tells me 2 things:

1) you are unwilling to let the free market and higher wages sort out the declining birth rate without government-dictated mass migration, and

2) you are unwilling to blame religion. Now why is this when religion is the problem, namely Islam?

I say this second reason is because religious people in the west will blame ANY thing other than religion including Islam

because they think that if they blame Islam the secular will win again

and they think Islam showed them a good example of how religion can claw back the power it lost to the secularists in the last 50 years

so they don't actually hate the head-chopping, crucifying islamists, they open the door for them in order to get what they want: a return to power for the church in the West and an expulsion of equal rights for women

I think it's just evil to tell a lie myself, and to deny equal rights to people based on a physical characteristic over which they have no control is wicked and wrong.

If people have equal talent and ability they have to have equal access to the labor market.

It is the societies that DON'T do this that collapse, and that is why their teeming starving millions are flooding in here and all we need to do is maintain our borders and turn them back

And if we need Israel-style conscription in order to do that, then I'm happy for that and I'll be the happiest conscriptee.

#8  #6 Newsflash: we're never going back. That's what's bullsh*t.

I recommend you read Karl Popper's The Poverty of Historisism. I'll summarize it for you. Those who think they know what the future holds, blind themselves both to what can happen and what is happening.

#9  Anon1, I've never heard any feminists speak out against Islamic treatment of women. I have heard women that speak out against Islamic treatment of women be ostracized by the left.

If it happens it gets zero play in the MSM, but I seriously doubt it happens..

#10  Indeed, just about all card-carrying congregants of organised, capitalised Feminism go very demure and ladylike when real, political Islam pops up in its throbbing, hairy physicality. Grotesquely, stereotypically woo-woo and feelzy, even, at least in front of cameras. Damned disappointing to us who like the taste of equality Kool-Aid.

And speaking of the author... I wouldn't have known her from Adam a year ago, either, but such a crush I have.

Sure, Hopkins is always a lady,
But will she stay sexy at eighty,
Like Faye, say, or Beatty
(but maybe less weighty)?
You bet I'll be waiting, eh, Katie!

Blush.
