The number of farmers martyred on land many their families had farmed since the 1600s has since been revised downward by the African National Congress (ANC) government, its police and lickspittle social scientists. This is good if true; bad if doctored for the purpose of diminishing the facts.
The Democratic Alliance used to dispute any crime statistics issued by the South African Police Service (SAPS). The tiny, tokenistic, opposition to the "all-powerful black majority party" puts the ostensible drop in crime down to the fact that 51 percent of victims no longer bother to report crime, given that corruption is rife, arrests rare, and prosecutions and convictions still rarer. Findings suggest that the SAPS’s optimistic, homicide statistics are not to be believed. According to the Economist (citations in Into the Cannibal's Pot), the Center for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation has confirmed the existence of a "pervasive pattern of (police) manipulation of statistic."

"South Africa’s protectors can’t protect themselves," they can't protect the country, and they probably can't count. The General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine opened the probe against 94-year-old Boris Steckler on April 18, the Ist Pravda news website reported last week based on documents it obtained from the National Advocacy Center, a nationalist and anti-Russian not-for-profit group.
Steckler is accused of killing Neil Hasevych, an artist who was a member of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, or OUN, which fought during the first half of the 20th century against Soviet domination.
Leaders of OUN briefly collaborated with Nazi occupation forces before turning against them. Once they ran out of Jews to kill. Steckler is accused of throwing a grenade into a bunker where Hasevych and several other underground fighters were hiding. Now, that's a war crime - ask any UN expert.
Following a bloody revolution in 2014 that unleashed a wave of nationalist sentiment in Ukraine, the state has celebrated the legacy of various personalities from OUN and its military wing, the UPA, including commanders who are accused of responsibility for the murder of thousands of Jews and Poles. Ukrainian authorities have decided to open a criminal investigation into a 94-year-old Jewish WWII hero who is being accused of killing a Nazi collaborator.
Col. Boris Steckler was warned that he is expected to stand trial for killing a Ukrainian nationalist in 1952.
Steckler was a senior officer in the Soviet Army and after the war was appointed as an officer in the KGB and was responsible for capturing Nazis and collaborators in western Ukraine.
During a battle in the Rivne Oblast in western Ukraine, Steckler was involved in a confrontation with nationalists who cooperated with the Nazis. During the confrontation, a man by the name of Neil Hasiewicz, who was a propagandist and district judge during the war, was shot and killed.
Local nationalist groups recently filed a complaint against Steckler, accusing him of responsibility for the assassination of Hasiewicz—a fact that Steckler does not deny.
In an unprecedented move, this is the first time Ukrainian authorities have sought to arrest a person who worked against Nazi collaborators during and after the Second World War.
Steckler was recognized as a local war hero and is regularly invited to the parades commemorating the victory over the Nazis. He was wounded during the war and received countless medals for courage.

[Breitbart] A Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) graduate died while attempting to climb the university’s 150 foot-high dome.
Nicholas Paggi, 24, died after he slipped and fell while trying to climb MIT’s roof near the dome, CBS Boston reported. His mother, Helga Paggi, said her son climbed the dome as part of a prank.
Paggi was working as a software engineer and had graduated in 2015 with "degrees in computer science & engineering and physics," MIT’s student newspaper the Tech reports.
"He was one of the greatest computer programmers I’ve worked with," Dr. Rich Fletcher said. "He was a great mentor to all students, it’s such a loss to all of us."
"Paggi had been involved with MIT’s D-Lab, which prototypes technologies to alleviate poverty," and remained involved with the project as a consultant after graduation.
Fletcher also said Paggi was known for his sense of humor.
The university president also acknowledged the former student’s death.

The killings occurred from March 29th and until April 29th, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which said the victims included 51 Syrians, including one woman, five of the group’s own fighters, six government forces personnel and allied fighters and two members of rival militias.
Those executed were accused of adultery, smuggling civilians outside IS domains and collaboration with the U.S.-led international military coalition and Kurdish forces, SOHR reported. The killings were carried out at Raqqa, Hassakah, Deir Azzour, Homs, Aleppo and al-Badia provinces.
The recent executions raise the total of those executed by IS since 2014 to 4694 civilians, regime soldiers, fellow and rival combatants, according to the U.K-based organization. Those include 87 children and 134 women, according to the organization, which said the methods of executions varied from gunfire to decapitation, burning, stoning and throwing from a high point.

[DAWN] Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Sunday visited the Line of Control (LoC) in Haji Pir Sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmire and reiterated support for the Kashmiris "rightful political struggle for right to self determination."
After being briefed on the situation along the LoC, ceasefire violatons and operational readiness of the formation, the COAS appreciated the operational preparedness and high morale of troops.
According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) ─ the military's media affairs wing ─ the COAS said India had unleashed its aggression and frustration on the people of India-held Kashmire as well as Pak villages along the LoC and Working Boundary.
However, it's easy to be generous with someone else's money... he made it clear that Pakistain Army would keep its response purely in the military domain in accordance with its values.
"The violence perpetuated by the Indian forces in held Kashmire is state-sponsored terrorism by all definitions," he said.
"This violence riles up passions on this side of the LoC, as the people of Pakistain cannot remain indifferent to the barbaric treatment meted out to defenceless Kashmiris, including women and kiddies," he added.

[DAWN] A blasphemy accused has rejected the allegations leveled against him by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and sought his release on bail.
The FIA tossed in the clink Book 'im, Mahmoud! the accused in connection with a blasphemy case last month.
He was the fourth persons the investigation agency arrested since March 2017 after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) took notice of sacrilegious material on the social media.
The accused claimed that he was in no way connected with the blasphemous content and one of his videos, which allegedly included blasphemous content, had been prepared and uploaded on the social media by someone after making changes to it.
The IHC had earlier ordered the registration of cases against alleged blasphemers, constitute a Joint Investigation Team (JIT), place the suspects’ names on the Exit Control List (ECL) and utilise state machinery, if needed, to remove the blasphemous content from social media.
The court had also ordered the authorities concerned to include sections relating to blasphemy and pornography in the Prevention of Electronic Crimes.
The IHC also asked the legislature to amend the existing laws to give equal punishment to those who level false blasphemy accusations.

[SHABELLENEWS] Truck-loads of Gun-toting Fighters from al-Shabaab ... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... briefly took over town near Somalia’s border with Æthiopia, military official said on Sunday.
The Lions of Islam have seized control of Wajid, a strategic town in Bakool region, about 305Km southwest of Mogadishu following an attack on the bases of the Somali and Æthiopian troops.
A Somali military officer in the region, told Radio Shabelle that the fighters launched the attack under cover of darkness, forcing soldiers to withdraw into nearby army stations.
Residents reported hearing gunfire and kabooms during the attack as Lions of Islam stormed and took control of several significant government checkpoints in the town.
According to a report by pro-Al-Shabaab media outlets, al-Shaboobs have took control of the town for hours and withdrew after they seized weapons from Somali forces.
Latest reports from the town indicate that Somali soldiers along with Æthiopian forces are now back in control, and the situation returned to normal, with business resumed operating.

[SHABELLENEWS] Three western Kansas men accused of plotting to attack Somali immigrants colonists in Garden City are asking for a delay in their federal trial.
Attorneys for Curtis Wayne Allen, Patrick Eugene Stein and Gavin Wayne Wright jointly filed the motion Friday. Federal prosecutors joined in the request.
U.S. District Judge Eric Melgren did not immediately act on the motion, The Hutchinson News reported. The trial is currently scheduled to begin June 13.
The three men, all members of a small regional militia group, are accused of conspiring to detonate truck bombs at an apartment complex where about 120 Somali immigrants colonists live in Garden City.
The motion notes the case is complex, one of the defendants was recently appointed a new attorney and the large amount of evidence to be reviewed.

[AlAhram] Five suspected members of Yemen's al-Qaeda branch were killed Sunday in what local authorities said was a US dronezap east of the capital Sanaa.
The early morning strike targeted a car in central Marib province that had been transporting arms from Yakla in Baida province, a military official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

One of the Syrian opposition’s media outlets, DeirEzzor24, did an interview with a 13-years-old child named Ahmed Sahleh Hassan from a town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor who had been recruited into ISIS ranks before being sent back to his family recently.
He tells his story by saying the following: "On Sunday, December 21, 2016, there was a Sharia session held in a mosque in the town for the children whose ages ranged from 9 to 16 years. I was among 25 other children and all of us attended those sessions regularly. During them, ’Sheikh Abu Obaidah’, who was a ISIS [ISIS] affiliate from the Gulf, would give us lessons on Sharia, from the end of the Maghreb prayer to the Ishaa. The lessons were about pillars of Islam, faith and stories of the followers of the prophet. He was always keen on encouraging us to perform jihad and anything related to fighting and to show enmity towards anyone not holding the same ideology.
Every week, two ISIS members from the Media Department would come to the mosque, where we were undergoing the sessions, and broadcast footage of ISIS battles in Syria and Iraq."
He adds, "I watched three ISIS video releases in that mosque. One day, after a video about the battle in djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... ended, Sheikh Abu Obaidah said, ’Who wants to pledge his allegiance to the organization and undergo a Sharia session and military training for 50 days?".
The child says, "I raised my hand, along with more than 30 children. At 8.00 PM we were transported by car to a ISIS headquarters in the town. In the early morning, we were sent to their headquarters in al-Bukamal in eastern Deir Ezzor, where we met more than 100 children and we were separated into different groups, each of which consisted of five. Then, each group was sheltered in a separate room in that headquarters which consisted of three floors and many rooms.
A daily schedule was distributed to us. It consisted of three daily lessons which started after the dawn prayer (memorization lesson), Duhr prayer (Monotheism lessons), Maghreb prayer (creed and fiqh issues) and then we would sleep after the Ishaa prayer.
We were divided into groups, each of which consisted of 30 children. We were supervised by Sheikh Abu Baraa Tunissi, and four other members in charge of controlling and managing our rooms. With respects to food, there was a kitchen from which food was distributed to all of us. Each of us would go to the kitchen with an issued card to obtain food.
There was also a big park where we would go to in the afternoon. We were not allowed to leave the headquarter for any reasons, even if some of us felt sick ‐ they would bring a doctor to treat him. We were also barred from communicating with our parents or asking about the location of the headquarters. Also, we were not permitted to speak loudly and the violators would be flogged.

(FSA) contingent, are also involved in the festivities, fighting alongside Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
FSA, HTS and Ahrar al-Sham forces now hope to expel Jaish al-Islam from all villages in the East Ghouta rebel heartland, forcing the latter Saudi-backed group to withdraw to its capital Douma.

[TheZman] Street protests and street theater are largely useless as political tactics in the modern age. A century ago, a gaggle of prim-faced scolds marching through the middle of town, demanding the end of alcohol, not only got people’s attention, it changed their minds about the issue. The street protests projected strength and suggested that the numbers on the side of the marchers were larger than assumed. The men in charge responded by giving women the franchise and banning alcohol. The downward spiral started soon after.
Today, people know that the street protest is a made for TV event and that the “protesters” are often paid to show up and make noise. Alternatively, it is assumed that the true believers are batshit crazy and best ignored. In other words, it’s just another TV show in an age where we are awash in TV shows. For the most part, the street protest is for weak losers desperate for attention. The only impact they have on the larger public is to confirm that the “movement” is impotent and can be ignored.
That does not mean street theater is entirely worthless. The alt-right showing up at Berkeley to beat up the Antifa losers was entertaining and it did scare the people in charge of the place. So much so they moved heaven and earth to block Ann Coulter’s speech last week. Make no mistake, the reason the school went to all this trouble is they feared a bunch of dudes in home made battle gear beating the hell out of the Potemkin Protesters the Left now hires to do their protesting for them. A replay would be embarrassing.
Berkeley is the epicenter of West Coast progressive lunacy so for the true believers at the center of the hive to feel this uncertain is suggestive. They have been in charge for so long they just take it for granted. The narrative says they are the ones in the street fighting the man. When the roles are flipped and they are suddenly the man, their go to move is to shut it all down. They have no choice, as to do otherwise would mean facing up to the reality of their situation and that’s never going to happen with true believers.
The real lesson, the one most useful to the alt-right, is seeing the controlled opposition confirm what many have been pointing out for years now. As soon as things got a little tough, the College Republicans folded their tents and blamed the “extremists” of the alt-right. The Young American Foundation, a Conservative Inc. racket to recruit college students, made a show of “defending free speech” but made sure they did not offer any material support. The most effective pieces of street theater have been those in which some of the protesters got hauled off to the hospital or the morgue: Selma, Kent State, etc. Putting on black masks and forming a mob to threaten Heather McDonald and Ann Coulter puts the left in the Bull Connor position. That doesn't draw a lot of sympathy. Even that young "lady" who ate a fist for the cause a couple of weeks ago got more of a "What a maroon!" reaction.

Germany’s defense minister on Sunday vowed zero tolerance for far-right snuffies in the military amid a widening scandal over a soldier who allegedly plotted an attack which he planned to blame on refugees.
"We can tolerate many things, but not political extremism, right-wing or religiously motivated extremism," the minister, Ursula von der Leyen, told public broadcaster ZDF.
She was reacting to the strange case of a 28-year-old army lieutenant, named by German media as Franco A., who led what prosecutors called a "double life" pretending to be a Syrian refugee.

Von der Leyen pointed to leadership failures within the Bundeswehr and criticized "a misunderstood esprit de corps" that had led superior officers to "look the other way" in the lieutenant’s case.
She and Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere, in charge of immigration and refugee issues, have vowed to clear up the embarrassing case, which has led one Social Democrat member to label them a "security risk" for Germany.

The lieutenant was first temporarily detained in February, by Austrian police at Vienna airport, after he tried to retrieve a loaded, unregistered handgun he had hidden in a toilet there days earlier.
This sparked an investigation in which a fingerprint check threw up an even bigger surprise: the suspect had in December 2015 created a false identity as a Syrian refugee.
The soldier, who has an Italian father and German mother, had pretended to be a Damascus fruit seller named "David Benjamin" -- ostensibly a Catholic with Jewish roots who had fled the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. The Bild daily has now reported that police found a "death list" compiled by the suspect, including left-wing anti-fascist activists.

[Daily Excelsior] A civilian was killed and five persons, including four coppers and a civilian, injured in a grenade attack in Khanyar area of Srinagar this evening while Death Eaters shot at and critically injured a man in Pulwama district of South Kashmire.

The security personnel were also deployed in areas like Lal Chowk, Maisuma and Batamaloo of the city. Police said the day passed off peacefully in Srinagar and there was no incident of violence during the day.
The civilian namely Mohammad Yousuf was killed when Army on April 27 opened fire on protesters seeking bodies of two Fidayeen attackers who attacked its base at Panzgam village of Chowkibal area of Kupwara district. The incident triggered protests in Kupwara areas and condemnation from separatists.
The strike was also observed in other districts of the Valley while public transport connectivity on inter-district routes was partially affected. Police detained separatist leader Nayeem Khan at Kralpora area of Kupwara district. A stone-throwing clash erupted between youth and security forces at Bijbehara area of Anantnag district, the police said, adding the situation in rest of the Valley was peaceful.
And the district administration said here that classwork in Sri Pratap Higher Secondary School, Maulana Azad Road and MP Higher Secondary School, Bagh-e-Dilawar Khan here shall remain suspended tomorrow. The classwork in these two schools have had remained suspended since past week after massive protests by students rocked city centre here against police action in Pulwama Degree College and elsewhere

I did a bit of research on her and before she joined the Obamas and Clintons she was a very ethical and straight-forward person. Corrupt people will corrupt others.

Perhaps her thinking is that technically, legally, there is a difference between leaking the intel herself and causing it to be leaked by one or more of her underlings. That little bit of hair splitting just might be enough to keep her out of jail.

[FREEBEACON] The campaign committee of former Rep. Corrine Brown (D., Fla.), who is currently on trial for corruption charges, spent thousands on hotels and small travel expenses after Brown was defeated in the Democratic primary last year.
Brown, who lost to former Florida State Sen. Al Lawson in the August 2016 primary, spent $11,278 on "lodging" at a Marriot Hotel in Bethesda, Maryland in late September 2016, nearly one month after the election.
In addition to the hotel expenditures, the campaign disclosed three "petty cash" transactions totaling more than $2,000 during the two-week span between October 16 and November 4.
A small amount ($185) also was spent on travel expenses in Houston, Texas and Jacksonville, Florida.
Thousands more were spent on more typical transactions following an election loss, such as payments to campaign vendors.
Brown and her chief of staff, Elias "Ronnie" Simmons, were indicted in July 2016 on 24 counts of fraud stemming from a sham foundation created by the former congresswoman.
More than $800,000 was deposited into Brown's Virginia-based foundation, One Door for Education, which spent only $1,200 on charity.
Federal authorities found that Brown, Elias, and Carla Wiley, the foundation's president, spent $200,000 of the group's funds on luxury vacations, NFL tickets, plane tickets, car repairs, and lavish events.
Wiley pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud in March 2016. Simmons pleaded guilty to fraud in February.
An FBI agent testified Wednesday against Brown, saying the money was taken from her foundation and put into a bank account shared by Brown and her daughter.
