Rebels kill Yemen's ex-president Saleh
[NYPost] Yemeni rebels killed their erstwhile ally Ali Abdullah Saleh, the country's former president and strongman, as their forces battled for control of the capital, Sanaa, officials said. The collapse of their alliance throws Yemen's nearly 3-year-old civil war into unpredictable new chaos.

The circumstances of Saleh's death were unclear, but rebel officials said their forces caught up with him as he tried to flee Sanaa.

A video circulating online purported to show Saleh's body, his eyes open but glassy, motionless with a gaping head wound, as he was being carried in a blanket by rebel fighters chanting "God is great" who then dumped him into a pickup truck. Blood stained his shirt under a dark suit.

It was a grisly end for a figure who was able to rule the impoverished and unstable country for more than three decades and remained a powerhouse even after he was ousted in a 2011 Arab Spring uprising.

His death recalled another Arab leader killed in the midst of his own country's uprising, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, whose body was shown in a video being abused by rebels who killed him in 2011.

Saleh's death was announced by the rebels, known as Houthis, who have been fighting Saleh's forces for the past week. Two of Saleh's associates have confirmed and a third official from the government of Yemen's internationally recognized president, Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, has also confirmed.

"The leader of treason has been killed," said the Houthis' TV network al-Masriah.

#1  Several Houthi military officials said Saleh was killed as he headed along with top party leaders from Sanaa to his hometown of Sanhan nearby. Houthi fighters followed him in 20 armored vehicles, attacked and killed him and almost all those with him, the officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the press. A Houthi media official, Abdel-Rahman al-Ahnomi, told the Associated Press that Houthi fighters killed Saleh as he tried to flee to Saudi Arabia through the province of Marib, east of the capital.

Red Cross Demands Branches Remove Crucifixes to Be More Secular
[Breitbart] Volunteers have criticised the Red Cross charity after receiving a communication telling them to remove crucifixes from the walls of their branches as the organisation looks to become more secular.

The Belgian branches of the international aid organisation received an email from the Provincial Committee of the Red Cross in Liège to remove all crucifixes. André Rouffart, president of the Red Cross in Verviers, said: "We were asked to respect the principles of the Red Cross", and not to distinguish between race or religious belief 7sur7 reports.

Mr. Rouffart said there had been pushback from volunteers and other members on the issue but downplayed the issue, saying: "I think it’s a storm in a teacup."

Several volunteers spoke to Belgian broadcaster RTL and expressed hostility to the move, with one saying: "Let things remain as they are. We used to say ’Christmas holidays’, now it’s ’winter holidays’. The Christmas market in Brussels has become the ’Winter Pleasures’."
And yet another reason my support goes to The Salvation Army.

The Irrational, Unshakable Faith of the Collusion Conspiracists
[Townhall] It is amazing the degree to which seemingly intelligent people hold an unshakable belief the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to win the election. Blind to the trumped up narrative unraveling all around them, oblivious to the absence of any evidence or even a substantive allegation of a deal between Trump and Russians, unmoved by every error and scandal the media stumbles into trying to push the story, they simply know it’s true. They smugly sneer and disdain anyone who points out the holes in collusion conspiracy.

Last week’s guilty plea by Trump’s short lived national security advisor Michael Flynn is a prime exhibit of the critics’ unshakable faith in The Narrative. Michael Flynn pled guilty to a single count of lying to the FBI. Instantly the Trump impeachment mob was high fiving and laying bets how soon the trail would lead to Trump and force his exit.

ABC’s Brian Ross added to the frenzy when he breathlessly blurted that Flynn was cooperating with Muller, and would testify that, during the campaign, Candidate Trump had directed him to contact the Russians. The mob went wild. Smoking gun! Collusion! Treason!

By the next day, Ross and ABC had to backpedal in disgrace: The direction to Flynn came after the election, not before. That is, it was about transitional diplomacy on behalf of an incoming administration, not about hacking emails or rigging the vote for a candidate in an upcoming election. The supposed bombshell turns out to be little more than a distracting sparkler. ABC suspended Ross without pay for four weeks.

The information released by Muller the next day was clear: Flynn was directed to engage the Russians about improved relations, about considering opposing a UN resolution against Israel, and about cooperating to fight ISIS in the Middle East. There was simply nothing untoward about those contacts. Why Flynn would have lied to FBI investigators about having them is something of a mystery. But he pled to lying about things that were right and proper, not wrong and collusive. They were completely unrelated to the campaign and voting.

In a sane world, the details of the Flynn plea would have been seen as strong indication there is nothing to the collusion conspiracy. We don’t live in that world.

#4  The donk's plan from the start was to get a special prosecutor appointed who would dig and dig until something was found, obstruction of justice being the likely target. Of course, if Muller never asked, justice couldn't have been obstructed so the whole thing is a sham from top to bottom.

The big question for me is why did AG Sessions go along with the donk's plan? Dick Morris (lunchtime alerts on YouTube) had been warning about this for weeks before AG Sessions appointed Muller. I wonder what the swamp has over AG Sessions? If AG Sessions is damaged goods then he should resign or be replaced.

VA knowingly hires doctors with past malpractice claims
[USAToday] Neurosurgeon John Henry Schneider racked up more than a dozen malpractice claims and settlements in two states, including cases alleging he made surgical mistakes that left patients maimed, paralyzed or dead.

He was accused of costing one patient bladder and bowel control after placing spinal screws incorrectly, he allegedly left another paralyzed from the waist down after placing a device improperly in his spinal canal. The state of Wyoming revoked his medical license after another surgical patient died.

Schneider then applied for a job earlier this year at the Department of Veterans Affairs hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. He was forthright in his application about the license revocation and other malpractice troubles.

But the VA hired him anyway.

He started work in April at a hospital that serves 184,000 veterans in 50 counties in Iowa, Illinois and Missouri.

Some of his patients already have suffered complications. Schneider performed four brain surgeries in a span of four weeks on one 65-year-old veteran who died in August, according to interviews with Schneider and family members. He has performed three spine surgeries on a 77-year-old Army veteran since July ‐ the last two to try and clean up a lumbar infection from the first, the patient said.

Schneider’s hiring is not an isolated case.

The Mueller Investigation - Another Hillary Mole
[American Thinker] How objective can an investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email investigation be when the FBI agent who played a lead role was removed from it this summer for texting his pro-Hillary and anti-Trump sympathies? And why does House Intelligence committee Chairman Devin Nunes have to read about it in the New York Times and the Washington Post? As Byron York reports in the Washington Examiner:
House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes has issued an angry demand to the FBI and Department of Justice to explain why they kept the committee in the dark over the reason Special Counsel Robert Mueller kicked a key supervising FBI agent off the Trump-Russia investigation.

Stories in both the Washington Post and New York Times on Saturday reported that Peter Strzok, who played a key role in the original FBI investigation into the Trump-Russia matter, and then a key role in Mueller's investigation, and who earlier had played an equally critical role in the FBI's Hillary Clinton email investigation, was reassigned out of the Mueller office because of anti-Trump texts he exchanged with a top FBI lawyer, Lisa Page, with whom Strzok was having an extramarital affair. Strzok was transferred to the FBI's human resources office -- an obvious demotion -- in July.

Are we to believe that Strzok was diligently and impartially examining evidence related to Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump while being unable to contain his anti-Trump bias? Is he the only Hillary mole? Just look at Robert Mueller’s staff and James Comey’s exoneration of Hillary Clinton after the infamous tarmac meeting between AG Loretta Lynch and unindicted conspirator in Uranium One William Jefferson Clinton. Stop when you detect a pattern.

This news comes as House Republicans, tired of leaks and finding out about things in the legacy media, are moving to find both the FBI and the DOJ in contempt of Congress for failing to provide requested material:
U.S. House Republicans are moving to bring a Contempt of Congress resolution against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray for stonewalling the production material related to the Russia-Trump probes and other matters.

According to Bloomberg, House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes and other Republicans decided to move against Rosenstein and Wray after the New York Times reported Saturday about the removal of a top FBI official assigned to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of the alleged Russia-Trump election collusion had been removed from the investigation.

If it's hurtful to Team Trump, it gets leaked. If it's damaging to Team Hillary, it's treated like the gold at Fort Knox. That’s not really surprising in a probe where Michael Flynn gets dinged for making false statements to the FBI, the same crime committed by famous Russian colluder Martha Stewart, but Hillary Clinton is not. But then, Hillary was never put another oath in an interview for which no notes were taken, unlike former FBI Director James Comey’s meeting with President Trump. Comey did not attend that meeting, nor was a grand jury convened. And where are the Podesta indictments, pray tell?

Vatican Adviser Claims Republicans ‘Will Face Consequences Later' For Passing Tax Reform
[Daily Caller] An American adviser to the Vatican claimed that Republican legislators "will face consequences later" for passing their tax cut bill, which he claimed "takes money from the poor to give to the rich."

Fr. James Martin, a Jesuit priest recently named consultor to the Vatican’s Secretariat for Communications, attacked the tax cut legislation, which is projected to benefit most taxpayers.

"The US will soon face the consequences of a #TaxBill that takes money from the poor to give to the rich," he wrote on Twitter.

"Those who voted for it will face consequences later, when they are judged. Do you think Jesus’s words about being judged on how we care for the poor don’t apply? Think again."

But yes, there are a great many progressives in the Vatican, and staff from statist societies who do not understand the proper spheres of government and citizen as Americans do, and I imagine under Pope Francis it has gotten worse.

Germany Warns Of ‘Highly Radicalized' ISIS Wives, Children
[Daily Caller] The head of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency warned Sunday of the risk wives and children of Islamic State fighters pose upon their return to Europe.

About one-third of the close to 1,000 Germans who travelled to fight for ISIS have returned to the country. Hans-Georg Maassen, the head of Germany’s Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), warned that many women and children "had become so radicalized and identify so deeply with IS-ideology that, by all accounts, they must also be identified as jihadis."

"There are children who have been brainwashed and highly radicalized at ’schools’ in IS-held areas," Maassen said in an interview with Deutsche Presse Agentur. "It’s a problem for us because many of these kids and teenagers can sometimes be dangerous."

The number of terrorism-related cases investigated by German authorities have quadrupled over the past year, according to newspaper Welt am Sonntag.

NFL anthem protests continue after league agrees to fund player activism
[The Hill] NFL player protests continued during the national anthem prior to Sunday’s early games, despite a league agreement to fund player activism efforts.

At least 20 players demonstrated during or after the national anthem on Sunday, The Associated Press reported. Three players for the San Francisco 49ers and three Miami Dolphins players took a knee during the anthem before the teams’ respective games.

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Tyus Bowser knelt for the first few verses of the national anthem, then stood for the rest, as he has done previously this season.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Rishard Matthews, who has stayed off the field for the anthem before, was inactive on Sunday, but did not appear on the field prior to the game.

Three other Titans players raised their fists over their heads after the song concluded.

#3  The NFL's multifaceted offer earmarks at least $89 million over a seven-year period for both national and local projects, according to the documents. On the national level, owners this year would allocate $5 million, with their commitment growing annually and maxing out at $12 million per year from 2021 through 2023. At the local level, owners would put up $250,000 annually and expect players to match that amount, totaling $500,000 for each team. Players and owners can exceed that amount if they choose, with no matching requirement.

In addition, there would be other fundraising opportunities, including telethons and auctions of jerseys worn in games.

In light of the underwhelming support of the NFL of recent, they might want to re-think that jerseys strategy. And I'm certain the telethons will be something to behold.

#11  REVEALED! NFL stole cash from veterans to bribe players

"Last week, the NFL offered kneelers a massive payout to stop their protesting, and this week 49ers safety Eric Reid revealed where the money is coming from.

Reid claims that the league’s proposed initiative to shell out $89 million to social justice causes is actually going to come from breast cancer awareness and military support funds.

Yes, that means that the NFL would be stealing cash from veterans–the very people whom they also don’t support during the national anthem.

Of course, the NFL has tried to dispute this claim."

Africa North
How Obama Brought Back Muslim Enslavement of Black People
[SultanKnish] America’s first black president didn’t bring "Hope" to America, but he did bring slave auctions to Africa. After Obama "liberated" Libya for the Islamist rebels, Arab Muslims sell black slaves for a few hundred dollars at slave auctions.

While leftists tear down the statues of slave owners from centuries ago, it was the left that brought back the sale of black men as property.

Slavery was always one of Barack Obama’s favorite subjects.

It was a favorite subject because it provided him with countless opportunities for tearing down America.

When called upon to disavow the racist, anti-Semitic and anti-American rants of his mentor, he instead denounced the Constitution as "stained by this nation's original sin of slavery." At the funeral of the Dallas police officers murdered by a member of the racist hate group he supported, he once again invoked this original sin even while he was justifying Black Lives Matter’s bigotry and violence.

At Hillary’s DNC convention, Michelle Obama claimed that the White House had been "built by slaves".

The unifying theme was that America’s racist past made its origins, including their constitutional restraints on his power, illegitimate. A Constitution tainted by slavery should not be able to inhibit the actions of the nation’s first black president. His wife had a special moral authority over the White House because it had been built by slaves. Slavery gave the Obamas a unique moral claim on power.

But Barack Obama and his ancestors had never been slaves. They might have been slave owners and sellers. And America’s first black president unquestionably helped bring Muslim slavery back to Libya.

After Obama invaded Libya to aid the Muslim Brotherhood, black slaves are being sold there once more.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
What If Michael Flynn Did Not Actually Lie to the FBI?
BLUF:
[Breitbart] It is possible that new evidence emerged to suggest that Flynn had deliberately and knowingly lied. But it is also possible Flynn made a good faith mistake.

If so, why plead guilty to lying? Defendants often accept plea bargains in which they admit to doing something they did not actually do, in order to avoid prosecution for something much worse that they may have done or which will be much more difficult to disprove.

Flynn may have been in trouble for a variety of things, including his possible role in an alleged plot to kidnap Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen. The truth may only become clear over time ‐ if ever.

Often, this is enough to prevent future testimony from such a witness.

Air raids in E. Ghouta near Damascus kill 25 civilians: Monitor
[AlAhram] A wave of Syrian air strikes on Sunday killed at least 25 civilians and maimed dozens across the besieged rebel enclave of Eastern Ghouta near Damascus, a monitor said.

The deadliest raids hit the town of Hammuriyeh, killing 17 civilians including six children, the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Other air strikes on the towns of Arbeen, Beit Sawa, Harasta and Misraba killed eight civilians.

The Observatory said at least 75 people were maimed and the corpse count was likely to rise given the critical wounds suffered by dozens of people.

Eastern Ghouta, one of the last remaining rebel strongholds in Syria, has been under a heavy government siege since 2013 that has caused drastic food and medical shortages.

An estimated 400,000 people still live in the enclave, and the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
has warned that hundreds are at risk of death if they are not evacuated for urgent medical treatment.

The area is one of four "de-escalation zones" agreed earlier this year by regime allies Russia and Iran and rebel backer The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
aimed at curbing violence across war-ravaged Syria.

Syria's government agreed last week to a ceasefire in the region to coincide with the resumption of UN-led peace talks in Geneva.

But heavy bombardment of the opposition enclave near the capital has resumed, with another 11 civilians killed on Saturday.

The Observatory said Sunday's deaths took the number of civilians killed in regime bombardment of Eastern Ghouta to at least 191, including 43 children, in nearly three weeks.

leader and one of his lover companions were killed as festivities broke out between the big shots of the group at the region on borders between Diyala and Salahuddin, an official from the pro-government paramilitary troops said.

Speaking to AlSumaria News on Saturday, Jabbar al-Maamouri, a leader with al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) said, "We have confirmed news over festivities between the group’s elite leaders in Um al-Sharr in Mutaibija, on borders between Diyala and Salahuddin. One of the leaders and his lover companion were killed in shootout."

"Mutaibija has the elite of five of the so-called Islamic State Wilayas (provinces). Each of them tries to dominate the other, which created the conflicts," Maamouri added.

He also urged necessity to expedite the battle at Um al-Sharr and eliminate presence of the gunnies there before the group leaders destabilize security at other places.

In November, Maamouri told Alsumaria News that the elite of five IS so-called "wilayas" (provinces) remain in hiding at Mutaibija.

Mutaibija has complicated terrain, with numerous hills that serve as a good hideout for holy warriors. Occasional attacks have been witnessed there by Islamic State against government and paramilitary troops deployments since Iraqi forces, backed by a U.S.-led coalition and PMUs, launched a major offensive to retake areas occupied by IS since 2014

Two more Yezidi mass graves found ‘with bodies of 40 children’
[RUDAW.NET] Two mass graves containing the bodies of approximately 140 Yezidis killed by ISIS has been found in the Shingal region.

"A mass grave with the bodies of 20 women and about 40 children was discovered in the village of Kabusi, south of Sinjar," said a member of the Hashd al-Shaabi paramilitary group who found the graves as reported by AFP on Sunday.

Elsewhere, "in the Jazira residential complex, also south of Sinjar, 80 other bodies, mostly Yezidis, were discovered," they added.

Another mass grave containing 73 Yezidis was also recently found in the Rambussi area near the town of Qahtaniyyah on November 22.

The KRG reported that 47 mass graves containing the bodies of Yezidis had been discovered as of Saturday.

Venezuela's big oil purge: Auto-extinction of a socialist enterprise
[AMERICANTHINKER] Powerful names in Venezuela's oil industry, people who've been in and out of the picture for years, went down like bowling pins in Venezuela this week. Nelson Martínez, Venezuela's chief of the state oil company, Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA), was one. Eulogio del Pino, the country's oil minister, was another. Whoever was acting director of Venezuela's U.S. refiner and distributor, CITGO, isn't there, either. A blurb from Nov. 29 says Asdrubal Chavez is now running the U.S. operation, and many of the CITGO officials are now detained in Caracas. Chavez is a cousin of Venezuela's late president, Hugo Chavez. Even the press contacts' names are now different.

It's tempting to see this move as a bold measure by the government of Nicolás Maduro to be doing something to improve things, given the parlous state of Venezuela's oil industry, whose inability to pump its OPEC quota has been described as a "gift to OPEC" (most of the other OPEC members cheat and pump more than they are allowed) and whose bonds are in default. Venezuelan oil output has dropped precipitously, falling below the 2-million barrel-a-day mark for the first time in 29 years.

An for sure, it's an oil industry plagued with corruption. But Maduro's men, the people doing the busting, are, if anything, more corrupt than the miscreants under arrest. Maduro's guys are the ones under U.S. sanctions for activities such as drug-dealing. The oil officials, rich and corpulent as they are, haven't been accused of that.

Saleh officially announces dissolution of partnership with Houthis
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Yemen’s former President former President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh

has officially announced the dissolution of his partnership with former Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
militia allies.

"Zero hour is coming to the battlefield in Sanaa... The country had to be saved from the madness of the Houthi group," Saleh said in statements on Monday morning.

Saleh urged an end to "militia rule on Yemeni land," adding that Houthis had continued their "provocative acts against Yemeni citizens."

The past three days have witnessed deadly festivities between supporters of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and his former Houthi militia allies. The fighting raged at dawn on Saturday between the two sides, which led to at least 80 supporters from both sides killed.

Iraqi commander rejects calls to disband popular forces
[PRESSTV] An Iraqi commander has rejected calls for the disbanding of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), also known by their Arabic name as Hashd al-Sha’abi, which have played a major role in pushing out the ISIS Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
terrorist group.

Ahmad al-Assadi, one of the PMU’s leaders, was quoted by AFP as saying that "any such discussion is rejected and we do not accept interference in Iraqi affairs."

He added, "Asking for the dissolution of the Hashd is like asking for the dissolution of the Iraqi army, because the Hashd [forces] are a key element of Iraqi security."

On Saturday, French President Emmanuel Macron visited Iraq, calling for "a gradual demilitarization" of the forces and for all militias in Iraq to be "dismantled."

Reacting to Macron’s call, Iraq’s vice president and former prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki, said in a Facebook posting that "Emmanuel Macron interfered unexpectedly in Iraq's internal affairs by calling for the dismantling of a legal institution, Hashd al-Sha’abi."

"We don't want any country to impose its will on the Iraqi government and the brave Iraqi nation," the leading politician said.

In October, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi strongly defended the Hashd al-Sha’abi after comments by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson that militias in Iraq should "go home." The militias are officially controlled by Iraq's prime minister.

Responding to calls by the Western officials, a senior commander of Iraq’s PMU recently said that American military forces must leave his country following the eradication of ISIS. In an exclusive interview with Press TV, Hadi al-Ameri, who heads Iraq’s Badr Organization, said the popular forces would call on the parliament to draw up legislation to demand the US pull out all its troops from the Arab country.

Turkey Former CIA officer rejects Turkey’s claims of involvement in coup plot
[RUDAW.NET] Retired CIA official, Graham Fuller, dismissed accusations by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
that he was involved in the failed coup attempt last year following an arrest warrant for his detention announced by Ottoman Turkish media on Friday.

Fuller, a retired CIA analyst, said he was accused by Turkey of being a "CIA handler" of US-based holy man Fetullah Gulen, who Ottoman Turkish President Recep Tayyip Edrogan claims is responsible for orchestrating last year’s coup attempt, The News Agency that Dare Not be Named reported on Saturday.

Gulen denies the accusations and has denounced Erdogan's consolidation of power, calling him a "dictator."

Turkey issued an arrest warrant for "violating the Ottoman Turkish constitution, attempting to overturn the government, interfering in the government’s duties and espionage," as reported by state-run Anadolu Agency on Friday.

The arrest warrant also stated that Fuller was in Turkey on July 15, 2016, the date of the coup attempt and left the country shortly after the failure of the attempted takeover.

In an emailed statement to AP late Friday, Fuller rejected claims that he was in Turkey during that time and said that he was in Canada on that day speaking to a group of 100 people and that he hasn’t been to Turkey in five years.

Fuller hasn’t served for the CIA in Turkey since the 1960’s and said he met Gulen only once 15 years ago in Istanbul, which wasn’t until after he had already retired from the CIA.

He is an author specializing in Islamic extremism and said he was "impressed" by the Gulen movement’s "progressive and tolerant visions of Islam."

Fuller expressed doubt over any CIA involvement in the "pathetic, ill-conceived and amateurish, coup attempt" in Turkey.

He also doubts that Gulen had any hand in "ordering" the coup to take place and that many people in European intelligence shared his beliefs.

FBI identifies man who made bomb threats to US Jewish institutions
[IsraelTimes] Ford Kevin Coots is suspected of threatening synagogues and JCCs and assaulting a federal officer sent to question him

A Missouri man made several bomb threats to Jewish institutions in the Kansas City area and in Washington, DC, a federal complaint charges.

Ford Kevin Coots, 25, of Urich, Missouri, allegedly threatened the synagogues and Jewish community centers and later assaulted a federal officer sent to question him, local media reported.

On April 24 of this year, Ohev Sholom — The National Synagogue in Washington, DC, received a call saying that 66 bombs would explode in the building sometime that week.

Over several days in July, bomb threats were called in to Jewish institutions in the Kansas City area, including the Jewish Community Center in Overland Park, Beth Shalom synagogue in Overland Park, and Kol Ami synagogue in Kansas City.

According to the Kansas City CBS affiliate KCTV5, one threat left on a synagogue answering machine said: “You all are the problems in this … nation. The reason the nation today is … May you all die in fire. … May you all die. I hate you with a passion. I hate all your guts. Die and burn.”

After the synagogue threats, a man identifying himself as Ford Joseph Holloway submitted an online tip to the FBI saying he was the “mastermind behind the Jewish synagogue bomb threats.” He told the FBI where he lived and told them to try to arrest him, but to “be prepared for a fight as I will be armed and attempt to rake some of you down before you kill me …”

The FBI traced the man to the home of a woman who said she had an adult son, Coots, who sometimes used the Holloway alias and that he suffered from mental health issues.
Oh. Another nutter wasting everyone’s time.
The FBI also determined that several of the threats originated from his phone.

When FBI agents went to the home in late November with a search warrant and to arrest Coots, he attacked them with a shovel, hitting one agent in the hand and damaging his gun.

Coots has not yet been charged with anything connected to the bomb threats, according to KSHB in Kansas City, but could face up to 20 years in prison for assaulting a federal officer.
It would be cheaper to keep him in an insane asylum, where his mother could visit him, than in a prison mental health wing.

Mysterious explosion rocks through rebel base in south Idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] A mysterious kaboom destroyed Jaish al-Nasr’s military base inside the town of Taramla in Idlib’s southern countryside earlier today.

More than 10 fighters were critically maimed in the kaboom which early reports suggest was the result of an accident in a hell cannon storage facility on base. The kaboom destroyed the main building.

Notably, Jaish al-Nasr is an FSA faction operating in Hama’s northern countryside and generously sponsored by the US State Department which provides them with ample shipments of TOW missiles.

It is not unlikely that the kaboom is due to arson action by a rival rebel group as southern Idlib has recently become the site of frequent infighting by krazed killer groups.

Venezuela to launch new cryptocurrency 'petro'
[PRESSTV] Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has announced that his country will be introducing a new cryptocurrency to battle the US financial "blockade."
Will they print it on plain paper using their computer printers?
"Venezuela will create a cryptocurrency... the 'petro,' to advance in issues of monetary illusory sovereignty, to make financial transactions and overcome the financial blockade," said Maduro in his weekly televised broadcast on Sunday.

He added that it will be backed by natural resources reserves without providing further details.
I thought their oil reserves were mortgaged to China a few years ago. What else can they use as backing — the annual coca crop?
The announcement drew widespread scorn from the economically-crippled country's opposition, who voiced doubt over Venezuela's ability to launch of a cryptocurrency.

The country's own currency, the bolivar, has lost around 57 percent in the last month alone.

Maduro's move comes at a time that the cryptocurrency known as bitcoin has soared to an all-time high of well above $11,000 on major exchanges and digital currency indexes.

Created in 2009, bitcoin uses encryption and a blockchain database that enables the fast and anonymous transfer of funds outside of a traditional centralized payment system.

It has increased more than 10-fold in value so far this year, posting the largest gain of all asset classes, amid increased institutional demand for crypto-currencies as financial and mainstream use has expanded.

Meanwhile,
...back at the bunker, his Excellency called a hurried meeting of his closest advisors. It was to be his last. They discussed the officers's efficiency rating system...
Representatives of the Venezuelan government and opposition have made "significant advances" in negotiations aimed at resolving the country’s political and economic crisis.

#1  Cryptocurrency Fraud (Wikipedia) (This is right up a corrupt governments ally).

On August 6, 2013, Magistrate Judge Amos Mazzant of the Eastern District of Texas federal court ruled that because cryptocurrency (expressly bitcoin) can be used as money (it can be used to purchase goods and services, pay for individual living expenses, and exchanged for conventional currencies), it is a currency or form of money. This ruling allowed for the SEC to have jurisdiction over cases of securities fraud involving cryptocurrency.[42]

GBL, a Chinese bitcoin trading platform, suddenly shut down on October 26, 2013. Subscribers, unable to log in, lost up to $5 million worth of bitcoin.[43][44]

In February 2014, cryptocurrency made national headlines due to the world's largest bitcoin exchange, Mt. Gox, declaring bankruptcy. The company stated that it had lost nearly $473 million of their customer's bitcoins likely due to theft. This was equivalent to approximately 750,000 bitcoins, or about 7% of all the bitcoins in existence. Due to this crisis, among other news, the price of a bitcoin fell from a high of about $1,160 in December to under $400 in February.[45]

On March 31, 2015, two now-former agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Secret Service were charged with wire fraud, money laundering and other offenses for allegedly stealing bitcoin during the federal investigation of Silk Road, an underground illicit black market federal prosecutors shut down in 2013.[46]

On December 1, 2015, the owner of the now-defunct GAW Miners website was accused of securities fraud following his development of the cryptocurrency known as Paycoin. He is accused of masterminding an elaborate ponzi scheme under the guise of "cloud mining" with mining equipment hosted in a data center. He purported the cloud miners known as "hashlets" to be mining cryptocurrency within the Zenportal "cloud" when in fact there were no miners actively mining cryptocurrency. Zenportal had over 10,000 users that had purchased hashlets for a total of over 19 million U.S. dollars.[47][48]

On August 24, 2016, a federal judge in Florida certified a class action lawsuit[49] against defunct cryptocurrency exchange Cryptsy and Cryptsy's owner. He is accused of misappropriating millions of dollars of user deposits, destroying evidence, and is believed to have fled to China.[50]

On November 21, 2017, an online company (Tether) which backs bitcoin cryptocurrency with fiat currency claims they were hacked, losing $31 million in USTD from their primary wallet.[51] The company has 'tagged' the stolen currency, hoping to 'lock' them in the hacker's wallet (making them unspendable). Tether indicates that it is building a new core for its primary wallet in response to the attack in order to prevent the stolen coins from being used.

Investigators say attackers were misled about target in Peshawar
[DAWN] Police Sherlocks probing the Friday attack on Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
’s Agriculture Training Institute (ATI) suspect that the planners of the attack apparently tricked the jacket wallahs into believing that the facility was an intelligence agency’s office, it emerged on Saturday.

Nine people, including eight students, were killed and 28 others injured when three murderous Moslems stormed the provincial agriculture department-run training institute on Friday morning. All the three murderous Moslems were also killed in a two-hour-long operation.

A senior police official told Dawn that the planners had deliberately misled the attackers about the target. "ATI was apparently their actual target but they misled the attackers saying it was an intelligence agency office," the official claimed.

He said it was apparently done to keep the attackers motivated. "The attackers asked students whether or not it was an intelligence agency office," the official said.

The outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban
...Arabic for students...
Pakistain grabbed credit for the attack. Its Umar Media Cell released a two-minute-long video of the attack in which one of the assailants apparently tried to confirm whether the building was an intelligence agency’s office.

In response to a student’s plea to spare his life, the attacker was heard saying he would not kill him if he told them whether or not this was an agency office.

Live broadcast of attack
The attack on the ATI located on University Road directly opposite the University of Peshawar campus was reminiscent of the deadly attacks on the Army Public School and Bacha Khan University, Charsadda.

Police Sherlocks said it was the first incident that the attackers broadcast live to their handlers via a smartphone attached to one of the assailants’ body.

"They used some communication apps to live broadcast the attack," said a police official.

It appears that the video released by the TTP was acquired from the same footage broadcast live by one of the Death Eaters.

Another official said that the attackers wore three boom jackets of relatively light-weight explosives which they did not use.

He said they carried about 20 hand-grenades and two IEDs. "It shows that they were there for a long battle," the official said.

Police and security forces pinned down the murderous Moslems holed inside the building after a two-hour-long shootout. Authorities said the button men had been killed and security forces had cleared the area after searching for remaining Death Eaters.

Iranian President Rouhani calls for Middle East 'dialogue'
[DAWN] Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Sunday that Middle Eastern countries should solve their problems together without relying on external powers.

"We believe that if there is a problem in the region, it can be solved through dialogue," Rouhani said in a speech at the inauguration of the Chabahar port's first phase, broadcast by state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
"We do not need arms nor the intervention of foreign powers. We can solve our problems ourselves through unity and dialogue."

Rouhani's comments follow an escalation in the bitter rivalry between Iran and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
The two powers back opposing groups throughout the region ─ notably in Syria and Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
─ and Saudi leaders have lately stepped up efforts to counter Iran's growing influence, raising fears of further conflict.

But Rouhani said recent victories against the murderous Moslem Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group opened the way for the Middle East to move past its reputation for "war and conflict between Shiite and Sunni... and the presence and interventions of foreign powers".

Saudi Arabia and Iran's critics in the West have accused Tehran of seeking to dominate the region at the expense of its neighbours.

Rouhani said: "No country can claim to be the superior power in this region. Just as the superpowers couldn't accomplish that either."

bled yet again on Friday as a TTP-claimed attack on the Agricultural Training Institute left nine dead and many more injured.

The heroism of the police and security forces who helped prevent a greater tragedy is undeniable. However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
the impulse of officialdom to praise an operation as successful for limiting the number of casualties is misguided. While morale must be maintained in the security apparatus and despair not allowed to spread in society, the reality is that the banned TTP was able to organise and execute a sophisticated terror strike.

The bully boyz are surely plotting further strikes and the announcement that a number of arrests were made in and around Peshawar yesterday suggests the existence of a disturbingly active terrorist network inside the country.

The greater threat, however, emanates from the TTP sanctuaries in Afghanistan. It is in Afghanistan that the TTP leadership is believed to be based and without some steps taken to reduce the space the TTP has across the border, it may well be impossible to put an end to attacks inside Pakistain.

Thus far, the Peshawar attack has not stirred up a fresh round of cross-border accusations and recriminations ‐ suggesting that the two states are continuing with efforts to improve bilateral ties that had threatened to fall apart. If that is true, it is welcome news and efforts must be redoubled to improve intelligence-sharing and address threats that jointly and separately affect the two countries.

The pattern has been that intelligence gathered and shared immediately in the wake of an attack can lead to important gains in the fight against militancy and deplete the upper ranks of Lion of Islam groups. That in turn has the effect of reducing the effectiveness and organizational capacity of Lion of Islam groups, at least temporarily.

Yet, there remains an inescapable reality: for Pakistain to obtain Afghan cooperation, Pakistain will have to cooperate with Afghanistan to address that country’s security concerns. The common fight against the Lion of Islam Islamic State

group can engender goodwill and reduce tensions in other areas of the bilateral relationship, but at some point the strategic questions will have to be addressed.

Given that the Afghan government recognises that a political settlement with the Afghan Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
is the only logical end to the war in that country, Pakistain has an opportunity to prepare the ground for an intra-Afghan peace deal by nudging the Afghan Taliban towards the negotiating table and giving Kabul access to potential negotiators the government may want to hold preliminary talks with.

Clearly, that will not be easy ‐ 16 years of war alone tell their own story. But the strategic imperatives are just as clear: peace will not be achieved in the region until the question of sanctuaries is addressed. Courage and enlightened self-interest will be needed on both sides.

All you need to know about the UAE’s missile defense and Houthi attack propaganda
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. war.

The statement issued on Sunday claimed that a ’winged’ cruise missile targeted the power plant located 600 kilometers south of Abu Dhabi.

While the Houthi militia utilizes Iranian weapons, the fact is that since 2015 cruise missiles have only been used in anti-ship operations near the strait of Bab el-Mandeb.

Of all Gulf nations, the UAE stands with one of the world’s most advanced missile defense systems that has been in development since the turn of the century.

Experts speaking to Al Arabiya English agreed that the UAE, which presents a valuable target for state and non-state actors, has shored up its air defense against multiple threats ranging from ballistic missiles to unmanned aerial vehicles.

Former UAE air force and air defense commander (retired) Major General Khaled Abdullah Al Bu Ainnain, earlier said at a missile defense conference that the UAE is thoroughly equipped to defend itself from short and long-range missiles threats.

The UAE defends itself in what experts call a three-tier system created to defend against low, medium and high altitude threats.

"Three tier air defense systems are often made up of low level subsonic defense against cruise missiles and manned or unmanned aircraft approaching at low altitudes," said Matthew Hedges, researcher at Durham University and Advisor to Washington based think tank, Gulf States Analytics.

"The second tier is for medium to high level missile threats that defends against tactical ballistic missiles and aircraft and finally high altitude threats defend against exoatmospheric engagements from intercontinental ballistic missiles," Hedges said.

According to Anthony Cordesman, the Arleigh A. Burke Chair in Strategy at Center for Strategic and International Studies, the UAE posseses the Russian Pantsir-S1 system, which was designed with an all-weather system that is capable of tracking and engaging aircraft, helicopters and UAVs.

For medium to high altitude threats, the UAE operates nine PATRIOT system batteries distributed alongside major population centers and critical infrastructure sites. In addition to the UAE batteries, the US has deployed another two.

In 2016, the UAE deployed the two Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) systems which give it the capability to conduct engagements above atmospheric levels targeting intercontinental ballistic missiles.
To summarize, the UAE denies that the Houthis fired a missile toward the nuclear power plant.

Mattis: ‘The Enemy Is Collapsing’ Faster Than Media Predicted
[DAILYCALLER] Secretary of Defense James Mattis touted the rapid success of the U.S.-backed military campaign against the Islamic State

to news hounds en-route to Egypt Saturday.

"The enemy is collapsing. In many cases, faster than many people in the media forecasted," Mattis declared. "You know, I always stayed away from timelines for this very reason. It’s usually slower or faster than any timeline."

Mattis has consistently been reluctant to put a timeline on the U.S. military presence in Syria, but highlighted the recent withdrawal of approximately 400 Marines from the country after successful operations against ISIS. The 400 Marines are being sent back to the U.S. after supporting the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces in their military campaign against ISIS.

ISIS has lost nearly all of its major territory in Iraq and Syria in recent months. The group no longer controls any major city in Iraq and is largely isolated to a desert pocket in Syria, surrounded by various hostile militaries.

The defense secretary also confirmed that U.S. arms and support will begin to cease to Kurdish groups inside Syria which have largely born the brunt of the fight against ISIS. The Grand Turk
CHP chair Kılıçdaroğlu gives President Erdoğan Dec 5 as ‘deadline’ on Zarrab
[Hurriyet Daily News] Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu has said he would give President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
until Dec. 5 to reveal who exposed state secrets to Ottoman Turkish-Iranian businessman Reza Zarrab, a key witness in the trial of a Ottoman Turkish bank executive in the United States over violations of Iran.
You and what army, Mr. Kilicdaroglu? Your job is to rubber stamp the sultan’s orders, not challenge him as if Turkey were still a democracy.
The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) previously gave the U.S. two diplomatic notes to return Zarrab to Turkey, on the grounds that he is "a clean guy," Kilicdaroglu said on Dec. 2 in an opening ceremony in the southern province of Mersin.

"[But] once Zarrab started to sing like a canary, then [the AKP said] he was a spy, a traitor. Up until yesterday, he was your guy and you were arm in arm. When he received the money, he was good, but now that he is talking, he is bad. I give Erdogan until Tuesday [Dec. 5] to explain who exposed the state’s secrets to Zarrab," the CHP leader said.

Kilicdaroglu’s comments came a day after Ottoman Turkish prosecutors ordered the seizure of Zarrab’s assets, citing a part of the Ottoman Turkish penal code that addresses the leaking of state secrets. Zarrab had previously claimed in a trial in a Manhattan court that he had paid millions of dollars in bribes to a former Ottoman Turkish economy minister to facilitate illegal gold transactions with sanctions-hit Iran.

"I live with the hope of 80 million people [in Turkey]. The 80 million want to live in this country in peace. We will fight for this together. We have written law and justice in the world of history. Everyone should know this very well. Law and justice is a right for all of us. We will fight until we achieve it," said Kilicdaroglu.

Kilicdaroglu also touched on the shift from the parliamentary system to the presidential system this year, which was realized through a referendum conducted on April 16, and said the parliamentary regime should be brought back.

"You are the ones who best know the danger that awaits Turkey. The first one is the one-man regime, replacing the democratic parliamentary system. You see what the one-man regime is. You see what Turkey has turned into. We need to remove Turkey from this dead end. We need to bring back the democratic regime. We need to bring back peace. This is why our women will knock on every door one by one on the path headed to 2019 [general elections]," he said.

...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
province of Afghanistan, the local officials said Saturday.

The officials further added that the senior Taliban leader, identified as Mullah Nasir, was killed in Musa Qala district of the province.

The provincial government media office in a statement also confirmed the killing of Mullah Nasir and said he was appointed as the deputy shadow governor of the group for Helmand.

The statement further added that Mullah Nasir was also in charge of the military affairs of the group and was killed along with three others in the airstrike.

According to the provincial government, Mullah Nasir was also involved in planning and coordinating suicide kabooms in Helmand and other parts of the country. ’

The Helmand government also accused Mullah Nasir of forced grabbing of land in this province.

The anti-government armed murderous Moslem groups including the Taliban bandidos krazed killers have not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as heavy airstrikes are underway in different parts of Helmand province with main focus being the destruction of the Taliban drug labs.

"Yemeni forces can eliminate any grounds, which can be exploited by foreign enemies of the Yemeni nation, through dialogue and the resolution of differences," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Sunday.

According to the city, the first implosion will break the metal beams that are used to keep the roof inflated at the perimeter of the stadium.
The rest of the demolition will be conducted in phases over the next year, using hydraulic excavators to break up materials and a vacuuming process to pick up the pieces.

Adamo says:

It could still fall, but the timetable is uncertain, said officials with Detroit-based Adamo Group, the demolition company.
Ten percent of the explosive charges failed to go off because of a wiring problem, said Rick Cuppetilli, executive vice president with Adamo. These were in eight key locations.

Situation under control in Sana'a: Yemen governing body
[PRESSTV] Yemen's Supreme Political Council which runs state affairs says the situation in the capital Sana'a is back to normal following days of violent festivities between forces loyal to ex-president former President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh

fighters.

In a statement released on Saturday, the council’s head Saleh Ali al-Sammad called on all the Yemeni people, political parties and tribes to exercise patience, counteract any act of aggression, and not contribute to the "conspiracies" meant to stoke tensions.

"The security services continue their efforts to enhance security and stability, and all those who try to destabilize the security are being dealt with seriously," Sammad said.

Preserving public tranquility and safety in Sana'a, which has become a symbol of the Yemenis' dignity, is a strategic issue for Yemen's Supreme Political Council, he added.

The Yemeni official also urged the "wise" Yemeni citizens to cooperate with the national and political forces on maintaining the country's stability.

He further expressed deep regret over recent developments in Yemen, which exacerbated people's suffering from a Saudi-led military aggression and siege.

"All figures, wise people and all citizens must exercise the highest degree of responsibility and discipline and bear the responsibility during the current stage to spare the country the scourge of strife and conflict," he concluded.

Speaking in a televised speech on Saturday, Saleh whose forces were allied with the Houthi fighters against Soddy Arabia

made an overture to the alliance, which has been waging a deadly war on the impoverished nation since March 2015.

Saleh said he is open to talks with Saudi Arabia and ready to "turn the page" if Riyadh and its allies lift the blockade and halt Arclight airstrikes on Yemen.

Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi described Saleh’s stance as a "betrayal" and stressed that the former president must reassess his policies that are favored by Yemen's enemies.

Forces loyal to Saleh "continue to move toward chaos and disturbance of security and stability" in the Arab country, he said, describing the former president's move as a "coup" against the Yemeni alliance.

"We must continue to support the fighting fronts because this plot is the last card of the forces of aggression, through which they seek to facilitate their occupation of our country," Houthi pointed out.

rebels who say they have gained control of most of the country’s capital, Sanaa, according to an official in Saleh’s Elite Republican Guard.

Iranian-backed Houthi fighters say they had regained control of three military bases, the diplomatic district and other neighbourhoods around the area. They also said they had taken over the city of Dhamar, south of Sanaa, as well as its surrounding regions.

At least 40 people have reportedly been killed since Wednesday amid ongoing fighting between the two sides, with residents now fearing a new front in an already devastating war.

On Saturday, Saleh said that he was open to talks with a Saudi-led coalition fighting Houthi rebels, in what the fighters called "a coup" against their fragile alliance with the former president.

He also called for a joint ceasefire between his supporters and Houthi rebels, and the Saudi-led coalition, which has been bombing the impoverished country since March 2015 to get rid of the Iranian-backed rebels.

, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt and Bahrain cut diplomatic ties with Qatar and imposed a land, air and sea blockade on it on June 5.

Speaking on Sunday on the sidelines of the Gulf Studies Forum in Qatar's capital, Doha, analysts said the crisis has helped Iran, Pakistain and Turkey increase bilateral trade with Qatar, as well as open new commercial routes and strengthen political ties.

"Trade between Iran and Qatar increased by 117 percent in less than six months and it shows the short-term effect of this crisis and bodes well for both countries in the long term," Luciano Zaccara, an expert on Gulf and Islamic studies at Qatar University, told Al Jazeera.

Figures released by Iran's customs administration last month showed the country exported 737,500 tonnes of non-oil goods worth $67.5m to Qatar over five months - an increase in growth by 30.8 percent in volume, and 60.57 percent in terms of value when compared with the same period last year.

India-Pakistan
The events at Faizabad have made me realise that I'm now a minority in Pakistan
[DAWN] This week was a painful one for me, for I finally learned that I had been living a fantasy all my life. There was no silent majority in Pakistain that some mysterious event was finally going to jolt them out of their sleep.

I used to laugh at children for believing in unicorns and fairies. This week, it occurred to me that I was no different. I was living in cloud cuckoo land as well.

This week it dawned on me that it was this fabled silent majority all along that had transformed the society into what it is today. The majority of this country is intolerant, and this is why they have remained silent in face of mounting social and cultural crisis. Their silence was tacit approval of the ugliness around us.

I feel sorry for the activists and the intellectuals who have spent their lives believing they could succeed in waking the silent majority up. The silent majority was always awake and had been laughing at those trying to summon a mythical group.

This week, I understood that I am actually a minority in Pakistain. The critical task for us now is to embrace this status and work to convince the intolerant majority to let us live in peace in their country.
Or leave for more civilized climes. Your countrymen are not finished digging themselves deeper.

In the Kohlu district, Levies' personnel foiled a major terror plot after they carried out an operation against suspected forces of Evil in the area, an official said.

The operation was carried out at a suspected terrorist hideout late last night after Levies officials received a tip-off from intelligence agencies, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohlu Agha Nadeem Akhtar said in a presser held in the morning.

Though no arrests were reported, Akhtar claimed that officials had recovered a sizeable cache of weapons, including 181 shells of RPG-7 rockets, 172 RPG fuse and 80 RDS.

Akhtar added that the action was carried out under Pakistain Army's ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, which was launched in February in the aftermath of a resurgence of terror attacks in the country.

Clashes engulf Idlib as rebels slaughter each other
[ALMASDARNEWS] Heavy festivities erupted between jihadists in Idlib’s southern countryside as relations turn sour between Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
(HTS) and its former ally Jund al-Malahim.

HTS convoys are seen everywhere as they mobilize around Jund al-Malahim’s bases Sahl al-Rouj and Iblen towns of Jabal al-Zawiyah. Jund al-Malahim used to be part of the HTS merger until they defected earlier this fall when fighting broke out between the latter and Ahrar al-Sham

Running short on supplies and finances, it is not unprecedented for the terrorist group to assault smaller factions to loot their bases as has happened before with Jaish al-Mujahideen, Hazm Movement, and the Syrian Revolutionary Front all of which no longer exist.

Violence is escalating as more artillery pieces, tanks, and other heavy equipment gets deployed into this conflict. At least five fighters from both sides have been reported dead so far as a result of those festivities.

Iraq
Unknown armed group abandons positions near Tuz Khurmatu
[RUDAW.NET] The unknown gang that was reportedly stationed in villages close to Tuz Khurmatu has left their positions and moved south, an official told Rudaw.

Mala Karim Shukir, head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) office in Tuz Khurmatu, said the "majority" of the unidentified force left their positions near Tuz Khurmatu over the past two days and went to adjacent areas in Diyala and other regions under the control of Iraqi forces.

The PUK official has been carrying out his role from outside Tuz Khurmatu since mid-October.

A Rudaw field investigation in late November could not determine the identity of the group that appeared in the area earlier that month. Locals said at the time that they had long beards and some spoke foreign languages, causing speculation they may have been ISIS remnants trying to regroup after territorial losses in Iraq. Others said they could also be irregular Iraqi or Kurdish forces.

A Kurdish gang, formed mainly of Peshmerga defectors and calling themselves the "Liberation Army," is also stationed in several villages east of Tuz Khurmatu. Their stated mission is to take control of areas that fell to Iraqi forces and the Shiite Hashd al-Shaabi in October.

The Liberation Army told Rudaw they did not know who the other group was.

Raa'is Kamal, a security official from the PUK who used to work from Tuz Khurmatu, told Rudaw in November they had intelligence about the presence of this group, whom he said were ISIS hard boys.

He claimed their numbers increased following the October 16 events when Iraqi forces and the Hashd took control of the majority of the disputed areas after deadly festivities with Kurdish forces in Kirkuk and Tuz Khurmatu.

Kawa Mala Parwez, a security official working with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), speaking to Rudaw in November claimed that the group had Kurds, Arabs, and foreigners among its ranks. He said at the time that they wanted to establish a "military base" in Tuz Khurmatu.

SC rejects use of foul language for Islamic cause
[DAWN] Against the backdrop of a 20-day-long Faizabad sit-in, the Supreme Court has ruled that no one could be allowed to use "filthy-abusive language" for the sake of politics in the guise of an Islamic cause.

"Freedom of speech and expression as well as freedom of the press is enshrined as a fundamental right (Article 19 of the Constitution), but the same provision curtails it when it is used to undermine ’the glory of Islam or the integrity, security or defence of Pakistain... or morality, or in relation to contempt of court, commission of or incitement to an offence’," says an eight-page order issued by a two-judge Supreme Court bench comprising Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Qazi Faez Isa on Saturday.

"No one can be allowed to use filthy-abusive language to advance a political agenda in the guise of an Islamic cause as it amounts to denigrating the glory of Islam...Force and violence (jabr) has no place in Islam. The word Islam itself means peace," the bench ruled.

On Nov 30, while hearing a suo motu
...a legal term, from the Latin. Roughly translated it means I saw what you did, you bastard...
case regarding the use of abusive language at the Faizabad sit-in and chronic traffic congestion and roadblocks placed because of the sit-in, the court had observed that it would issue a detailed order at a later date.

Bangladesh
Rohingya women sold as sex slaves in Bangladesh
[Al Jazeera] Rohingya girls and women in Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar are being sold as sex slaves, according to a victim and aid agencies.

Fifteen-year-old Khartoun* told Al Jazeera she was sold into sex slavery after she arrived in Bangladesh by boat to escape a brutal military crackdown.

She was alone - her mother, father and sister had been killed by a mortar shell fired by the Myanmar military during a sweeping crackdown against Rohingya people. Upon Khartoun's arrival in September, two women approached her on the beach and told her they would help her.

"They told me if I went with them they would look after me and help me find a husband," Khartoun said.

Instead, she was locked up for three weeks and sold to a Bangladeshi man, who she said, raped her and sexually abused her for 12 days.

"He said 'I will choke you, I will stab you. I will kill you ... Do you want to be killed the way the military kill people in Myanmar? I won't let you go,'" Khartoun told Al Jazeera.

The UN and aid agencies said labour and sex trafficking in refugee camps have gotten worse with the recent influx of more than 620,000 Rohingya.

The military unleashed a campaign of mass murder, rape and arson against the persecuted community after army bases came under attack from Rohingya fighters. The UN has said the army offensive amounted to ethnic cleansing.

Olivia Headon of the International Organisation for Migration said urgent action was required to keep women and girls safe in Bangladesh's refugee camps.

"There's been recruiters here in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, previous to this influx and we know they are getting more business," she told Al Jazeera. "And we know that new criminal networks have kicked into action."

US sends F-22s to join hundreds of fighters for North Korea war games
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Six of the most advanced American stealth fighter jets arrived in South Korea on Saturday for a new round of war games aimed at North Korea’s nuclear weapons and ballistic missile program, according to local reports.

The Defense Department sent the F-22 Raptors to participate in a four-day joint military exercise in South Korea. The games are taking place just days after North Korea tested an intercontinental ballistic missile that appears capable of reaching the eastern seaboard of the U.S.

"It will be the first time for six F-22 stealth fighter planes to fly over South Korea at one time," according to Yonhap News Agency. "The U.S. also plans to send F-35A and F-35B stealth jets, F-16C fighter planes and others including an unspecified number of B-1B bombers. The South Korean Air Force will dispatch F-15K, KF-16 and F-5 fighter jets and other planes for the exercises with about 230 aircraft at eight U.S. and South Korean military installations being mobilized."

North Korean state media touted last week’s missile as being able to carry a "super-large heavy warhead, which is capable of striking the whole mainland of the U.S." The regime has pursued the nuclear weapons systems in order to help assure against an American and South Korean invasion of the north.

But North Korea also hopes to use the threat of a nuclear attack on the U.S. to force a withdrawal of American forces from South Korea, according to a former diplomat who defected from the regime. In dictator Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
’s mind, the defector said, that U.S. withdrawal would set the stage for a northern invasion of South Korea.

The provincial government media office in a statement said the Taliban group has instructed its fighters to reconsider their strategy in maintaining the drugs production and smuggling.

"In just over three days’ worth of operations, the Afghan 215th Corps, their special forces commandos, their air force, in close cooperation with U.S. forces, removed between $7 million and $10 million of revenue from the Taliban’s pocketbook," Gen. Nicholson said.

He also added "And the overall cost to the drug trafficking organizations approached $48 million. So these strikes were just the first step in attacking the Taliban’s financial engine, and they will continue."

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Opossum breaks into Florida liquor store, gets drunk
[CBSNEWS] FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. -- An opossum that apparently drank bourbon after breaking into a Florida liquor store sobered up at a wildlife rescue center and was released unharmed.

Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge officials say the opossum was brought in by a Fort Walton Beach, Florida, police officer on Nov. 24. A liquor store employee found the animal next to a broken and empty bottle of bourbon.

"A worker there found the opossum up on a shelf next to a cracked open bottle of liquor with nothing in it," said Michelle Pettis, a technician at the refuge. "She definitely wasn't fully acting normal."

Pettis told the Northwest Florida Daily News the female opossum appeared disoriented, was excessively salivating and was pale. The staff pumped the marsupial full of fluids and cared for her as she sobered up.

"We loaded her up with fluids to help flush out any alcohol toxins," Pettis said. "She was good a couple of days later."

Pettis says the opossum did not appear to have a hangover.

The store owner, Cash Moore, says he never had an opossum break in before.

"She came in from the outside and was up in the rafters, and when she came through she knocked a bottle of liquor off the shelf," Moore said. "When she got down on the floor she drank the whole damn bottle."

Four Arabs among eight arrested for illegal hunting of houbara bustard
[DAWN] Eight people, including four Arab nationals and a senior district council official, have been enjugged
You have the right to remain silent...
for being involved in illegal hunting of migrating houbara bustard birds in an area near the Pak-Afghan border in Nushki district.

Official sources said on Saturday that the personnel of Frontier Corps
...a provincial paramilitary force. Total manpower is about 80,000. They are tasked to help local law enforcement in the maintenance of law and order, and to carry out border patrol and a..the Antwerp-based Salafist organization that had campaigned to introduce Sharia law to Belgium before single-handedly making Belgium the highest per capita supplier of jihadis to Syria in Europe. There was a big trial in Antwerp in 2015, but most of those convicted were in absentia...anti-smuggling operations....
deployed at a checkpoint in the Omer Shah area close to the border signalled a convoy of vehicles moving towards the border to stop. When people in the convoy ignored the signal and tried to escape, the personnel opened fire on them forcing them to stop. As a result, one person in the convoy was injured.

The personnel took all the people in the convoy into custody and shifted them to Nushki.

A security official said that the arrested people included four foreigners ‐ three from Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
and one from Oman. The other four were District Council Nushki’s vice chairman Muhammad Khalil and three local people, he added.

The sources said that the arrested men were going for illegal hunting of houbara bustard because they had no permit from the government for it.

They said the foreigners reached Nushki from Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
on the invitation of Mr Khalil. They said the foreigners were later shifted to Quetta for further investigation.

The injured was identified as Muhammad Yaqoob, a local man.

#3  When mankind in Heaven has mustered
To spy on this cluster, unflustered,
They'll see but a scarab
And maybe an Arab
Nonplussed as he's cussed by a bustard.

#4  :-) Nonplussed.

The appeal? According to the BBC, the shy, endangered, chicken-sized bird is considered an aphrodesiac.

#5  Also, hunting with falcons is a traditional princely behaviour, and those rich Gulf Arabs do like acting like princes.
