[WSJ via Hot Air] The defense chief demanded his resignation Sunday after Mr. Spencer attempted to cut a deal with the White House over the case of Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher, Mr. Spencer said.
Mr. Spencer had attempted to make a deal with the White House in which President Trump would allow the Navy to conduct an internal Navy review of Chief Gallagher, but that he would then be allowed to retire with his Trident pin, the revered symbol of his membership in the elite commando force. But Mr. Esper only learned of these efforts after the fact, and thus lost confidence in Mr. Spencer.
"I am deeply troubled by this conduct shown by a senior DOD official." Mr. Esper said in a statement. "Unfortunately, as a result I have determined that Secretary Spencer no longer has my confidence to continue in his position. I wish Richard well." NYPost has more

[RT] An asylum seeker who ransacked the alcohol aisle of a German supermarket, causing €1,000 ($1,100) worth of damage, is being investigated for attempted arson after allegedly trying to set the flammable spillage alight.
The 24-year-old Afghan “rioted” in a supermarket in Nordhausen, central Germany on Thursday, local police said, sweeping scores of wine and spirit bottles off a shelf. According to Nordhauser Kriminalpolizei investigators, he then tried to ignite the alcohol.
Footage from the store’s CCTV system shows the man walking up and down the aisle, apparently perusing the wares, before suddenly lashing out and systematically clearing a whole shelf of bottles onto the floor.
The man was brought before a magistrate on Friday, and the investigation continues.

As human beings we tend to have our neurochemical processes govern our approaches toward memories, experiences, fears and anxieties. The inherent empathic regard in us for fellow humans lets us sympathize with even people who once committed horrible deeds, or absolute imbeciles who'd vote in their death every time.
Gawd would not be bound by these limitations though. His grudges may know no bounds.

[Weasel Zippers] Detroit ‐ A Washington, D.C.-based author believes he has located the burial site of Jimmy Hoffa, 44 years after the Teamsters boss disappeared in Metro Detroit.
Dan Moldea, author of the book "The Hoffa Wars," said he spent the last year in New Jersey uncovering the last stop of Hoffa’s journey, which he says is a 53-acre dump site in Jersey City.
"This is the best lead I’ve seen on this case in 44 years," said Moldea, who began investigating Hoffa’s fate as a graduate student at Kent State University in Ohio.
Hoffa was president of the Teamsters union from 1957 to 1971, the last four years while serving a prison sentence for fraud and jury tampering. Federal investigators believe he was killed by mob bosses because he wanted to recapture the union presidency he lost while in prison.
Hoffa vanished from the parking lot of the Machus Red Fox restaurant in Bloomfield Township in July 1975.
From there, Moldea says, Hoffa was taken to a location in Detroit, where he was murdered, placed in a 55-gallon drum, loaded onto a Gateway Transportation truck, then driven to New Jersey.

[National Review] Is this the tip of a scandalous iceberg? Or is it a signal that Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s much anticipated report on investigative irregularities in the Trump-Russia probe will be much ado about nothing much?
A low-ranking FBI lawyer altered a document that was somehow related to the Obama Justice Department’s application to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) for a national-security surveillance warrant. The application, approved by the FISC in October 2016, targeted former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page ‐ an American citizen, former naval intelligence officer, and apparent FBI cooperating witness ‐ as a clandestine agent of Russia. Apparently, the document tampering made at least one of the application’s factual assertions seem more damning than it actually was.
The FBI attorney, who has not been identified, is also said to have falsified an email in an effort to provide back-up support for the fabricated claim. The lawyer, who was reportedly pushed out of the Bureau when the tampering incident came to light, was interviewed in Horowitz’s inquiry and is said to be a subject of the related criminal investigation being conducted by Connecticut U.S. attorney John Durham.
The news was broken on Thursday night by CNN. That in itself is noteworthy. The FBI’s former deputy director Andrew McCabe is a CNN contributor, and the Bureau’s former general counsel James Baker is a frequent CNN guest. The IG’s probe has scrutinized the conduct of both. CNN commentators also include other former federal law-enforcement officials, who have ties to the Bureau and to some of the former officials under scrutiny. CNN’s news story about the evidence tampering is sourced to "several people briefed on the matter," who were not identified. The IG report is scheduled to be released on December 9, and witnesses have recently been permitted to review a draft of it under tight restrictions.

Is this going to be the same old same old? Find a low level puppet patsy and throw them under the bus while the puppeteers who pulled the strings go free...again?
If that is the conclusion of Horowitz's FISA abuse report, the report isn't worth the paper it is written on.

The problem with a vast sea of unelected civil service aristocrats is they are ruthlessly protective of their rice bowls. We are now facing their certainty that their rice bowl includes actually running the government despite the tiresomely noises made by the passing parade of annoying elected officials. Their certitude that they deserve to manage and govern us is now openly on display as the praetorian SES witnesses demonstrated. They have staged a coup and the outcome is not yet stymied. I thought the glide slope into the darkness would be shallow enough to allow me to get to my shelf stockage end date beforehand. Seems I might have been in error...
[Red State] If you’re looking for evidence that the culture ‐ and science ‐ have come a long way from the beginnings of the HIV scare, glance no further than a new write-up at Queerty.com.
Not long ago, HIV was a short waiting game, followed by AIDS as a swift death sentence. And in the early days of the disease’s discovery, mere talk of it was often drenched with fear.
But for many, it would seem, those days are in the rearview mirror ‐ dramatic advances have been made.
As per Healthline, in 1996, the life expectancy of a 20-year-old who contracted HIV was 39. By 2011, that number had leapt to 70. And, at least in some circles, the culture has similarly jumped.

[Washington Examiner] When British Labour Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn unveiled his country’s most expensive and radical political manifesto, with plans for a huge program of taxation and spending, he did it by invoking the spirit of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
In so doing, he joins a raft of left-wing politicians in the United States who have made the architect of the New Deal and his ideas the keystone of their 2020 presidential ambitions.
From the Green New Deal to rural internet access and appeals to the working class, politicians including Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have promised to finish the work that FDR began in the 1930s with government jobs, Wall Street regulation, and infrastructure.
Lawrence Glickman, professor of American studies in the department of history at Cornell University, said Democrats had long shunned the legacy of FDR as they reacted to criticism they supported big government and high taxation. That started to change after the Great Recession of 2008. Democrats "long shunned FDR"...?
"There’s a renewed faith in regulating corporations that are widely seen as becoming dangerously powerful, a faith in public spending, which for a long time Democrats as well as Republicans were reluctant to support, and a new faith in unions," he said.
FDR was namechecked across the Atlantic when Corbyn unveiled on Thursday a radical plan to hike taxation and borrowing to fund a massive program of public spending, coupled with the nationalization of the railways, water companies, and energy providers.
He compared himself with Roosevelt as he tried to head off criticism that his proposals would cripple the British economy and return the country to disastrous 1970s experiments in socialism.
"The U.S. president who led his country out of the Great Depression, President Franklin Roosevelt, had to take on the rich and powerful in America to do it. That’s why he said: ’They are unanimous in their hate for me, and I welcome their hatred,’" he said, quoting the president’s famous speech at Madison Square Garden during the 1936 U.S. election.

British children since the 70s have been indoctrinated that FDR fought the great recession rather than the truth which is that he significantly extended it.

[The Federalist] The latest Emerson College poll is out. The Democratic impeachment witch hunt is officially a huge failure that has blown up in the Democrats' faces. Overall, 45% oppose impeachment versus 43% who support impeachment. That's a 6-point swing -- in President Donald Trump's favor -- since impeachment hearings began. Quite amazing.
But much more importantly, independents (the only voters who really matter at this point -- everyone else has made up their mind) overwhelmingly oppose impeachment. Forty-nine percent oppose impeachment versus 34% who support it. That's not just a landslide 15-point margin in favor of Trump. It's a 24-point swing in Trump's direction since the hearings started. That's what you call a disaster for Democrats.
The same Emerson poll found Trump's job approval up to 48%. That's a 5-point jump since October. Trump is more popular since the impeachment witch hunt/hearings began.
And don't forget, Emerson poll results are based on "registered voters," not the "likely voters," who are far more friendly to Trump.
But I'm going to switch gears. Smart minds understand impeachment is dead. Trump won. To paraphrase the late O.J. Simpson attorney Johnnie Cochran, "If the glove doesn't fit, the Senate will acquit."
Trump is sitting pretty. Now he needs to make one simple announcement to guarantee reelection by an electoral landslide. He needs to announce a massive middle-class tax cut.

[RedState] In a not quite unexpected twist, the Secretary of the Navy, Richard V. Spencer strongly denied a New York Times report (go figure) that he had threatened to resign over the CPO Gallagher case. From the article in Defense News
Navy Secretary Richard V. Spencer denied Saturday he has threatened to resign over President Donald Trump’s intervention in the case of a Navy SEAL convicted of posing for photos with a dead prisoner of war.
"Contrary to popular belief, I’m still here. I did not threaten to resign," Spencer said at the Halifax International Security Forum, where Spencer was speaking on a panel about the Arctic. "Let’s just say we are here to talk about to talk about external threats and Eddie Gallagher is not one of them."
Here’s the best part, emphasis mine
Spencer, the Navy’s top civilian, also said he would comply if Trump orders him to stop plans for a Navy hearing to decide whether to strip Special Warfare Operator Chief Edward "Eddie" Gallagher of his SEAL trident.

Time for 'honest' control of the media. No special regulations. In fact the removal of 'special' altogether. Make them libel for bad products like car makers, lettuce growers, et al. If you can regulate 'guns' you can regulate 'press'*.
*press in 1792 was all about the technology of information flow not the institution that co-opted the term which is more involved with distortion, suppression and fabrication of information.

...The question that I found most interesting, however, is the one which asked if a comment on a woman’s attractiveness can be classified as sexual harassment. Although many respondents gave a negative answer, those answering in the U.S. were a different matter. Roughly a third of younger individuals thought such treatment can be classified as sexual harassment.
I find that a little bit alarming. Have we intensified the fight against sexual harassment to such an extent that men can no longer feel free to offer a polite, kind compliment to women on a new dress, a certain hairstyle, or a mannerism or ability which is admirable? Have we encouraged women to be on guard against men to such an extent that we set even our little girls on edge against a hug from relatives at holiday gatherings? And if so, does it not seem that our efforts to create a less toxic environment for women may actually be escalating that toxicity for both sexes? Wanting to eat your cake and also keep it usually doesn't work, dear ladies.

Looks like I'm way out in front - I haven't complimented a woman about her looks in about thirty years. It started out as an attitude of 'I'm not giving the pricks the satisfaction' and now it's morphed into this. In a few cases it's obvious that a lady wanted a compliment, but I'm like 'pfffft - fuck that noise'.
As far as I'm concerned, let the broads sort this shit out, 'cause if I did, it'd be mansplaining or some such bullshit.
"What a well rounded ass, my dear !" - Yeah that can classify as mildly inappropriate, or something in the same vein. I'm sure feminists are ok with those comments, or they won't complain about actual predators because of fear. No. They'll selectively decide which individual's comments they don't like.

[MSN] Chicago water bill payments are down $20 million this year, Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s administration said months after the mayor announced the city would stop shutting off households’ water because of unpaid bills.
The administration provided the data after far South Side Ald. Anthony Beale hammered the mayor’s budget team this week for what he said was a misguided policy at a time the city desperately needs new sources of revenue.
While Beale charged during a Tuesday hearing on the mayor’s 2020 budget plan that water payments were down $165 million in 2019, Finance Department spokeswoman Kristen Cabanban said the shortfall is actually $20 million.
And the city has billed about $18 million less this year in water and sewer fees than in 2018, according to month-by-month amounts provided by the administration. Cabanban said that’s due to lower water usage in the city and in suburbs that purchase water from Chicago, possibly tied to conservation efforts.
Before she was even sworn in this May, Lightfoot said she would direct the city’s water department not to shut off water for people who aren’t paying their bills. "Water is a basic, basic human right," Lightfoot said then.

[Chicago Tribune] Consumers are being advised to avoid romaine lettuce grown in Salinas, Calif., after 40 people fell ill from E. coli infections.
The Friday warning from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, issued a week before families sit down to dinner for Thanksgiving, comes exactly a year after another E. coli outbreak prompted the agency to issue an unusually broad alert to dump all romaine.
In its latest warning, the CDC urged consumers, retailers and restaurants to throw away any packages of romaine, including salad mixes, that have "Salinas" anywhere on the label. If the lettuce isn’t labeled with a growing region, it should also be thrown away.
The agency issued the announcement after investigating reports of 40 people in 16 states falling ill from E. coli contamination, including one person in Illinois, between Sept. 24 and Nov. 10. Twenty-eight of the people were hospitalized, and five developed hemolytic uremic syndrome, a type of kidney failure. No one has died.
In interviews, the CDC found 80% of the ill people had eaten romaine, and preliminary evidence suggests some ate lettuce grown in Salinas, one of the country’s major growing regions. No common grower, supplier, distributor, or brand of romaine lettuce has been identified. The Food and Drug Administration and affected states are continuing efforts to trace back the contaminated lettuce.

Black Democrats are certainly not going to relinquish that singular place of virtue in American history to LGBTs.

HAYNEVILLE, Ala. (AP) ‐ An Alabama sheriff was fatally shot Saturday evening in a community near the state’s capital, authorities announced, later saying they were seeking a man considered to be a "serious risk" who may be traveling on foot.
Gov. Kay Ivey tweeted that Lowndes County Sheriff John Williams had been "tragically killed" in the line of duty and that she offered her prayers and sympathy to his family and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department.
Montgomery County Sheriff Derrick Cunningham told news outlets that Williams was shot at a gas station in the community of Hayneville, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) southwest of Montgomery. Details remained sketchy as law enforcement agents converged on the community. Video from WSFA-TV showed a heavy law enforcement presence late Saturday outside a QV gas station.
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency spokesman Cpl. Jess Thornton told reporters the State Bureau of Investigation was en route to the scene.
Meanwhile, the state issued what it called an "emergency BLUE alert" that it was seeking an 18-year-old white man last seen at a QV gas station in the area at 8:15 p.m., the time of the reported shooting. The statement made no mention of the shooting or a possible connection to the man.

[TheRegister] The sale of one of the internet’s most popular registries to a private equity firm has revived concerns over how the domain name system is governed.
At the end of last week, the Internet Society (ISOC) announced that it has sold the rights to the .org registry for an undisclosed sum to a private equity company called Ethos Capital. The deal is set to complete in the first quarter of next year.
The decision shocked the internet industry, not least because the .org registry has always been operated on a non-profit basis and has actively marketed itself as such. The suffix “org” on an internet address – and there are over 10 million of them – has become synonymous with non-profit organizations.
However, overnight and without warning that situation changed when the registry was sold to a for-profit company. The organization that operates the .org registry, PIR – which stands for Public Interest Registry – has confirmed it will discard the non-profit status it has held since 2003 as a result of the sale.
Adding to a sense of betrayal, the organization that decided on the sale – the Internet Society – has always been viewed as a supporter and protector of the engineer culture that devised and developed the networking technology that made the modern internet possible. That culture has always sought to provide a counterbalance to growing commercialism of the internet.
That decision to sell was made by the boards and management teams at both ISOC and PIR, according to a statement provided to The Register: “In terms of decision-making, the Boards – and executive management teams – of both the Internet Society and PIR were closely involved and voted to proceed.”
But that’s only part of the controversy: there is also the matter of who the registry was sold to.
Despite ISOC calling the purchaser Ethos Capital “a strong strategic partner that understands the intricacies of the domain industry,” no one in the internet industry had ever heard of the company when the sale was announced. Which wasn’t a surprise since it was established a few months earlier.
WHO'S BEHIND ETHOS?
Despite stating that Ethos Capital “understands the intricacies of the domain industry” its founder and CEO Erik Brooks has no experience within that industry. The firm’s website lists only Brooks and one Nora Abusitta-Ouri – who joined the outfit last month as its “chief purpose officer” – as employees.
But there is a common thread between those two and it is Fadi Chehade, a former CEO of ICANN, the organization that oversees the domain-name system and awards the contracts to run internet registries.
It was under Chehade that ICANN radically changed its approach to internet registries, including a massive expansion of the internet namespace and a move toward a free market approach to internet addresses. Chehade’s actions as CEO led directly to the Ethos Capital buyout of .org but he is not listed as a part of Ethos Capital and the company has so far failed to respond to our questions about his connection to the firm.
More recent decisions by ICANN also had a significant bearing on the decision to sell the .org registry. At the end of June this year, in a controversial decision made despite significant and vocal opposition, ICANN decided to lift price caps on .org domains for the next 10 years, paving the way for unlimited price increases on the 10 million .org domain names. That decision massively increased the value of the .org registry from millions to potentially billions of dollars.

You are surprised after the globalist forced the ruling caste in America to give up the internet (we built it).
Yupp. The same Brad Sherman that's so vocal on twitter and youtube over impeachment.
[Dawn] Key Congressman seeks Trump's help to visit held Kashmir
WASHINGTON: The head of a US congressional panel has asked the Trump administration to persuade India to allow US diplomats to visit and review the situation in occupied Kashmir.
Congressman Brad Sherman, who made this request in a letter to the US State Department, heads a House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia. Last month, the panel held a hearing on human rights in Asia, which focused almost entirely on the situation in the India-occupied Kashmir.
The participants expressed grave concern on gross human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and questioned New Delhi's Aug 5 decision to revoke the valley's special status by merging it with India.
In his letter to Assistant Secretary Alice Wells, who heads the State Department's Bureau for South and Central Asian Affairs, Mr Sherman urged her to expedite efforts for sending US diplomats to Kashmir.
"One reason I am so concerned about the situation in Kashmir is because there is a lack of reliable information coming from the region," he wrote. He neglected to mention the undying itch in his crotch to appease allah-hoos in his own constituency !
Mr Sherman reminded Ms Wells in the Oct 22 hearing he also asked her if US diplomats have been able to visit Kashmir to "report on the situation on the ground since August 5", when India annexed the occupied valley.
Conservatives can always come to visit us as individual dignitaries on research trips. They may inspect the security protocols, routines... and feel free to learn. I don't think many of them could find Kashmir on a map though ☺. Besides they're not busybodies who jaunt around moral-policing the world. The Democrats are.
We arranged a secure trip for some only conservative leaning and far-right politicians from Europe to the Kashmir valley. We were hoping they'd understand if not learn anything new. They turned out to be quite impressed, and actually echoed some sentiments. Known globalist leftists and their ilk were were denied entry. We do not associate officially with any fact-finding trips diplomats might wish to make as individuals, and they're free to do so. 'Z' category security is provided of course, but it's a chore.
And the official policy is, if we wish to conduct a diplomatic conversation it'll always be with the President, not an islamist compromised liberal Democrat HoR.
"In response, you said the United States has requested permission to visit Kashmir, but the Indian government has denied those requests," Mr Sherman wrote in the letter which was released to the media on Thursday.
"I wanted to follow up with you on this point. In particular, would you like to answer three questions: Have U S diplomats been permitted to visit Kashmir since August 5, 2019? How many times has the United States officially requested permission for US diplomats to visit Kashmir since August 5, 2019? What are the reasons the Indian government has given for refusing to grant US diplomats permission to visit Kashmir?" he wrote. Only Democrats.
Congressman Sherman noted Indian officials' claim that they were not allowing US diplomats to visit Kashmir due to the security situation on the ground. But he pointed out that the Indian government allowed "certain, select European Union members of Parliament" to visit Kashmir in October. They were all our type.
"In light of this, the Indian government should (also) allow US diplomats to visit Kashmir," he added.
At the Oct 22nd hearing, members of the House Subcommittee also requested a classified briefing from the State Department and Office of the Director of Intelligence regarding Kashmir.
"I would like to formally request that the Slate Department and Intelligence Community provide this classified briefing to members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and other interested members of Congress," Mr Sherman wrote.
"I ask that you direct your staff to work with my Subcommittee Director, Don MacDonald, to find a mutually convenient time to schedule this briefing."
Yeah, I don't think so. No nationalist government in the world, unless it's an Islamic republic would welcome an islamophile, liberal party sub-committee to nosey around in their affairs.

[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] It looks like Senate Minority Leader and President Trump critic, Senator Chuck Schumer ...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is 43.966552880257055 years. Senate minority leader as of 2017... , just outed one of Schifty Schiff’s whistleblowers. In a tweet this morning the Senator may have outed Schiff’s witness "LTC Alexander Vindman" as one of the whistleblowers!
In a tweet Chuck Schumer just referred to "Alexander Vindman and whistleblowers like him". What a dummy.
Would Cryin’ Chuck refer to Vindman "and whistleblowers like him" if Vindman wasn’t a whistleblower?
How does Cryin’ Chuck know this? We were told by Adam Schiff ...Showboating U.S. Representative for California's 28th congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Schiff has served in Congress since 2001. He currently serves as the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In a manner reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, on March 22, 2017, in a interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC Schiff claimed there was “more than circumstantial evidence now” that Donald Trump ...the Nailer of NAFTA... 's campaign colluded with Russia." Todd followed up by asking if he had seen direct evidence of collusion and Schiff responded that there was "evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation... that the whistleblower’s identity was unknown?

[BREITBART] Pope Francis has condemned the "evil" bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, calling the attacks a "tragic episode in human history." And he's Infallible, so he should know.
"I will soon visit Nagasaki and Hiroshima, where I will offer prayers for the victims of the catastrophic bombing of these two cities, and echo your own prophetic calls for nuclear disarmament," the pope told an assembly of the nation’s bishops in Tokyo Saturday evening, shortly after his arrival in the country.
"I wish to meet those who still bear the wounds of this tragic episode in human history, as well as the victims of the triple disaster," he said. "Their continued sufferings are an eloquent reminder of our human and Christian duty to assist those who are troubled in body and spirit, and to offer to all the Gospel message of hope, healing and reconciliation."
"Evil has no preferences; it does not care about people’s background or identity," he continued. "It simply bursts in with its destructive force, as was the case recently with the devastating typhoon that caused so many casualties and material damage."
This past week, Francis sent a video message to the people of Japan, denouncing the use of nuclear weapons as "immoral" just prior to his departure for a six-day visit to Asia, including Thailand and Japan.
"Your country is very aware of the suffering caused by war," said the pope in reference to the U.S. bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima in August 1945. "Together with you, I pray that the destructive power of nuclear weapons will never be unleashed again in human history."
"Using nuclear weapons is immoral," he said, speaking in his native Spanish. The Rape of Nanking was immoral, too. So was the Spanish Inquisition. So was the the St. Bartholomew's Day massacre. Shuddup.

Killed more in the fire bombing of Tokyo that March. That was one month after the Rape of Manila where the Japanese killed even more civilians.
"So, moved by humane considerations, the Lateran Council, which advised the Pope on secular affairs, in 1139 declared the crossbow 'a weapon hateful to God.' The ban was observed unilaterally by Conrad III of Germany, who forbade its use in his armies for thirteen years, meanwhile trying to persuade other powers to do likewise. He failed, and by 1152 Conrad's soldiers were again using the crossbow."

This priest is a duplicitous and foolish little man who opines on subjects of which he is embarrassingly ignorant.
None of which can hide the fact that he presides over an organization that for the better part of the last 60 years has engaged in an international conspiracy to shield known rapists and serial pedophiles from law enforcement across the civilized world.
His throne does not give him moral authority when it is used to protect what is for all intents and purposes a mafia-style crime syndicate.

[amgreatness] An Ohio animal rights activist with a history of attacks on people wearing fur has been charged with attempted murder for stabbing a woman wearing fur boots at a church outside Cleveland, police said.
According to the police report, the victim had taken children she babysits to the church for choir practice at Fairmount Presbyterian Church, in Cleveland Heights. Meredith Lowell, came up and stabbed her, the victim suffered two stab wounds to her arm and stomach, Fox News reports.
“Witnesses told police they heard a woman screaming and the babysitter fell to the ground due to the stab wounds.” A man wrestled Lowell to the floor and held her until officers arrived, the police report said. “When police arrived at the church, they found the young woman lying on the ground surrounded by blood, clutching her left side.”
The victim remained hospitalized Thursday, Police Chief Anne Mecklenburg said. Her condition was unclear. It’s also not clear whether the victim was wearing real fur. It doesn't really matter if the victim was wearing real fur, which is legal; what matters is that the perp stabbed her, which is not.
Meradith Lowell, 35 was charged with felonious assault and attempted murder. She appeared in court via video on Thursday and her bond was set at $1 million. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Monday.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The chief challenger to Israel’s embattled Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is proposing to lead a unity government with Netanyahu’s Likud party.
Blue and White candidate Benny Gantz says on Saturday he would head the government for two years and then Netanyahu would lead the following two years - if he is acquitted of corruption charges.
Gantz says it’s the "only way to avoid unnecessary elections that no one wants."
It was Gantz’s first concrete offer to extract Israel from its political impasse since the country’s attorney general announced Thursday Netanyahu would be indicted.
Netanyahu currently heads a caretaker government after two inconclusive elections. Previous efforts at a power-sharing agreement between the two largest parties failed. Netanyahu has vowed to remain in office.
In case you were wondering if the fix was in:
[TheHill] Senate Republicans are cautioning Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) against the prospect of bringing former Vice President Joe Biden before the Senate Judiciary Committee to testify about Ukrainian corruption, saying such a move could backfire.
Graham initially ruled out the possibility of having Biden or his son Hunter testify before the Judiciary panel about their actions related to Ukraine, but he is now open to the idea, which is being pushed by President Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani.
Senate Republican Whip John Thune (S.D.), the No. 2 Senate GOP leader, on Wednesday said it's ultimately up to Graham whether to request the Bidens answer questions about whether they played any role in shielding a Ukrainian gas company from a corruption investigation.
But Thune warned that Graham needs to be careful about following Giuliani's lead on investigating Biden.
"If you're Lindsey, I'm not sure I'd be taking recommendations from Rudy Giuliani on who I bring" in front of the committee, Thune said.

So let's see.. in spite of all the evidence of bribery and corruption by the Biden Family, Pater Familias may not be investigated because it might be politically inconvenient? OK. Got it.
I would just suggest that the GOP keep its powder dry for now and wait to question Biden and Ensign Cokeblower during the Senate trial, which would/will actually follow due process and rules of evidence.
That would finish Biden off for good, boost Bloomberg as a 3rd party candidate and let Trump face Trotsky or Fauxcahontas in the general.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraqi security forces fired rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse crowds of protesters on Saturday, killing two people and injuring 20 others in a third day of fierce festivities in central Baghdad, security and hospital officials said.
Two protesters were struck with rubber bullets and died instantly and over 20 others were maimed in the fighting on Rasheed Street, a famous avenue known for its old crumbling architecture and now littered with rubble from days of violence.
Sixteen people have died and over 100 maimed in the renewed festivities. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations.
At least 342 protesters have died in Iraq’s massive protests, which started on October 1 when thousands of Iraqis erupted into the streets to decry corruption and lack of services despite Iraq’s oil wealth.
Separately, Iraq’s Parliament failed to hold a session on Saturday due to lack of a quorum. Lawmakers were supposed to read reform bills introduced to placate protesters. The next session was postponed to Monday.
The fighting has centered on Rasheed Street and started on Thursday when protesters tried to dismantle a security forces barricade on the street, which leads to Ahrar Bridge, a span over the Tigris River that has been a repeated flashpoint. Security forces responded with barrages of tear gas and live ammunition.
The violence took off again on Friday afternoon. Live rounds and tear gas cannisters were fired by security forces from behind a concrete barrier on Rasheed Street.

[DAWN] A seven-year-old girl was strangled to death after being raped in her house in Dhoke Chaudhrian early on Friday.
Even after her death, the victim was again subjected to sexual assault by her 18-year-old uncle, said Superintendent of Police (SP) Syed Ali. He said the suspect had confessed to having killed the girl after sexually assaulting her.
He said the girl’s father, an Afghan national, lived in Dhoke Chaudhrian’s sector ’C’ with his wife and six children. His younger brother (suspect) also lived with the family.
The SP said the suspect got married two months ago but his wife left him two weeks ago and returned to her parents’ house.
Late on Thursday night, the girl’s father, who works as a scavenger, went to work along with his elder son, leaving his wife and five children and the suspect at home.
After midnight, the suspect took the girl from her mother’s room to another room and subjected her to sexual assault.
After strangling her to death, he put the body on a bed outside her mother’s room and covered her with a blanket. The suspect then left his house but police later traced him in the same locality and took him into custody.
The incident came to light when the victim’s father and brother returned home at about 2.30am and found her lying outside her mother’s room.
"First, her father thought that she might have been taunted by her mother, therefore, she was sleeping outside the room. But when he removed the blanket, he found her dead," police said.
The body was taken to a private hospital where a doctor declared it a police case because the victim had been subjected to sexual assault.
A police team led by SP Ali reached the scene and collected evidence, including a blood stained bedsheet. The police also called forensic experts who collected evidence from the scene.
The SP said the body was handed over to her parents after an autopsy. An investigation has been launched and as soon as the postmortem report is received the circumstances in which the girl was murdered could be known, he added.
The parents of the victim were reluctant in registration of a case but when they were assured by the police that all possible help would be extended to them, they agreed to file an FIR.
City Police Officer (CPO) Mohammad Faisal Rana in a video message said an incident of murder of a girl after rape had taken place in the airport police area and the suspect had been arrested.
He didn’t reveal the relation of the suspect with the victim but said: "The suspect is a close relative of the victim. His DNA and other forensic tests will be conducted and he would be awarded an exemplary punishment."

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Syria’s Kurds have handed over an American child and three German children and their mother to their respective governments, a Kurdish official said on Saturday.
After years of leading the battle against ISIS in Syria, the Kurds hold hundreds of foreign men, and thousands of related women and kiddies suspected of links to the bad boy groups.
Abdelkarim Omar, a bigwig with the Kurdish authorities in northeastern Syria, said the handover went ahead on Friday.
"An American child and three German children with their mother were handed over to their governments," he said in a statement on Twitter.
Germany’s Bild newspaper has reported the American child was the daughter of the German woman’s first husband, who was a US citizen.
Germany on Friday said it was repatriating its first ISIS suspect, and that she and her three German children had crossed into Iraq on their way home.
Spiegel magazine named the mother as Laura H., 30, and said she and her children had been living in the overcrowded al-Hol camp for the displaced in northeastern Syria.
She is believed to have travelled to Syria from Giessen in central Germany in March 2016, and to have joined ISIS that summer.
The Kurdish authorities have repeatedly urged Western countries to repatriate their nationals linked to ISIS, but they have been largely reluctant to do so.

[DAWN] The Foreign Office on Saturday summoned the ambassador of Norway to convey the "deep concern" of the government and people of Pakistain over an incident of desecration of the Holy Koran in the Norwegian city of Kristiansand.
During the meeting, Pakistain’s condemnation of the action was reiterated, a statement issued by the FO said.
"It was underscored that such actions hurt the sentiments of 1.3 billion Moslems around the world, including those in Pakistain," the blurb said, adding that such actions could not be justified in the name of "freedom of expression".
An anti-Islam rally in Kristiansand had turned violent last week after its leader attempted to set fire to a copy of the Koran despite warnings from police officials.
Videos that surfaced on social media showed a Moslem youth jumping over a fence and kicking the person burning the holy book. Police then intervened and took the anti-Islam protester and the Moslem youth into custody.
The incident drew nationwide condemnation, with many Paks praising the youth as a hero for defending the Koran.
According to the statement, the FO urged the Norwegian authorities to bring those responsible for the act to justice and to "prevent the recurrence of any such incident in the future".

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] At least 36 people, including seven children, have been killed by landslides triggered by unusually heavy rains in northwestern Kenya, a local official said on Saturday.
The downpour began on Friday in West Pokot County, which borders Uganda, and worsened overnight, causing flooding and mudslides that swept away four bridges and left the worst-affected village, Muino, unaccessible by road.
"We can confirm that the number of those dead has sadly reached 36. Some people who we thought were lost have been found dead," Samuel Poghisio, a senator from the county, told Rooters by phone.
"More people are marooned and the entire village is at risk of being wiped out by the floods," the county’s governor, John Lonyangapuo, told Rooters by phone as he waited for a helicopter to transport him to survey the damage.
He added that rescue efforts were underway in the area, where more than 500 vehicles are stuck on roads damaged by the landslides.
Eleven of the people killed were in the same house, Lonyangapuo said.
Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta said in a statement that he had deployed rescue personnel from various agencies including the army and the police to try to stop the "further loss of lives."

[DAWN] Four anti-government protesters were killed in festivities with security forces in Iraq’s capital on Friday as the country’s top holy man bluntly pushed politicians to enact electoral reforms.
More than 340 people have died and thousands have been maimed since rallies against widespread graft and unemployment erupted in Baghdad and the mostly Shia south last month.
For weeks demonstrators have demanded that the government step down but leaders have resisted, instead proposing a raft of measures including recruitment drives and a revamp of Iraq’s electoral system.
Protesters have brushed off the proposals, maintaining their sit-ins in Baghdad’s iconic Tahrir (Liberation) Square for four consecutive weeks.
These have spread onto bridges leading to the western bank of the river Tigris, an area which houses parliament, the prime minister’s office, several ministries and the central bank as well as foreign embassies.
On Friday, security forces fired tear gas and live rounds from behind thick concrete barriers to keep crowds from crossing over.
Four protesters were killed, two rubbed out and two killed by tear gas canisters, a medical source said.
Rights groups have slammed security forces for improperly firing the gas grenades directly at protesters in a way that can be lethal, instead of into the air.
Demonstrators were enraged at the violence, which has continued despite calls by the country’s top Shia authority, or marjaiyah, to deal with the rallies peacefully.
"The marjaiyah banned shooting (at protesters), but it’s still happening and people are still dying," said Ahmad Mohammad, a 58-year-old protester in Tahrir.
In an unusually brief sermon on Friday, Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani repeated his support for the protest movement and urged politicians to prioritise new election laws.
"The marjaiyah stresses the need to work quickly to pass an electoral law and a law on the electoral commission," said the sermon.
But the call was met with scepticism from demonstrators, who have sought more robust support from the seat of Shia religious power in Iraq.
"They’re going too slowly on the government. I call them the silent marjaiyah," one demonstrator scoffed.
Lawmakers are to meet on Saturday to interrogate the industry minister as part of a planned government reshuffle.
Earlier this week, they began discussing a draft electoral law that would shrink parliament and distribute votes according to a complex hybrid system.
But the United Nations ...a formerly good idea gone bad... mission in Iraq (UNAMI) said the draft law "requires improvements to meet public demands".
Critics of the current law say it favours entrenched political parties over independents and is vulnerable to corruption and seat-buying.
The last elections in May 2018 produced a parliament in which no bloc had a clear majority ‐ a shaky foundation for Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi.
Parties have rallied around Abdel Mahdi in recent weeks, but protesters have also defiantly clung on.‐AFP
They were buoyed on Thursday by the government’s lifting of its weeks-long restrictions on social media, opening the door to a slew of online critiques of the political class.
"They have lost all legitimacy and their proposals don’t represent us. This government must resign," said Abou Ali, a 32-year-old demonstrator in Baghdad.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iranian troops and members of the Revolutionary Guards helped police quell violent unrest in Kermanshah province this week, Iranian officials said on Saturday, accusing "US agents" of being among the protesters.
Rights group Amnesia Amnesty International said at least 30 people were killed in the western province, making it the worst hit by days of protests over gasoline prices rises in which more than 100 people were killed nationwide. Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... rejected the corpse count figures as "speculative".
The unrest appears to be the worst violence at least since Iran stamped out a "Green Revolution" in 2009, when dozens of protesters were killed over several months.
"All the forces of the Revolutionary Guards, the (paramilitary) Basij, the Intelligence Ministry, police, and the army took part actively in controlling the situation," Parviz Tavassolizadeh, the head of the judiciary in Kermanshah, was quoted as saying by the semi-official Fars news agency.
"Tavassolizadeh said the rioters were armed," Fars reported. "They confronted agents ... and burned public property."
Bahman Reyhani, the Revolutionary Guards commander in Kermanshah, said "the rioters belonged to anti-revolutionary (exiled opposition) groups and America’s intelligence services," the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported.
Reyhani did not name the groups. Armed Iranian Kurdish murderous Moslems have long operated near the province’s border with Iraq.
Officials have previously blamed "thugs" linked to exiles and foreign foes - the US, Israel and Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... - for stirring up the unrest, which led to the detention of about 1,000 demonstrators.
The Guards said calm had returned across Iran on Thursday.
[NYPOST] "The Image: A Guide to Pseudo-Events in America" is the title of a 1960s book by historian and librarian of Congress Daniel Boorstin. Pseudo-events, he wrote, are staged solely to generate news media coverage. Real events involve independent actors and have unpredictable outcomes. Pseudo-events are shows.
It’s not difficult to say which category the House Democrats’ impeachment hearings belong in. It’s a classic pseudo-event stage-managed to prod sympathetic media into running predictable stories. Inconvenient questions from Republican members are blocked, and the name of the original "whistleblower" is concealed.
Yet on the front pages and cable news’ breaking-news bulletins, this pseudo-event is crowding out two genuine events of potentially world-shaking importance and uncertain outcome. President Trump is going to be impeached by the House and will not be removed from office by the Senate. But the potential for regime change ‐ or regime rigidification ‐ resulting from the prolonged rioting in Hong Kong and recent protests in Iran

We found that the FBI’s vetting process for CHSs, known as validation, did not comply with the Attorney General Guidelines. We also found deficiencies in the FBI’s long-term CHS validation reports which are relied upon by FBI and DoJ officials in determining the continued use of a CHS. Further, the FBI inadequately staffed and trained personnel conducting long-term validations and lacked an automated process to monitor its long-term CHSs. The joint DoJ-FBI committee tasked with oversight of the FBI’s CHS program did not meet its composition requirements placing an undue burden on just a few members. The committee also had a backlog of CHSs awaiting continued use determinations, potentially allowing them to operate when they should not have. The FBI also missed an opportunity to identify its non-compliance with established CHS validation requirements because it did not follow its own directives for incorporating new procedures into policy. Further, we identified issues related to the FBI’s current validation process with characteristics the FBI considers significant and its lack of policy for communicating with CHSs. Lastly, a newly proposed system designed to align its CHS base with its highest priorities will rely on ingesting data from at least one FBI system with known data quality issues.

Why is it so important to establish "political bias"? If the process was abused, then a crime was committed. The motivation is secondary to the act itself.
This is the surreal nature of the Shitshow: Trump is presumed to have corrupt and nefarious motivations, even though he hasn't committed any crimes. His enemies across the DS, the Dems and the media are breaking all sorts of laws-- and we're told this doesn't matter because their motives are supposedly untainted.

Telecoms ooperators were informed of the decision to restore the Internet service for landline telephones, the IRNA news agency reported.
According to the agency, the Internet service has returned to the provinces of North Khorasan, South Khorasan, Golestan, Samnan, Yazd, Jharmhal, Bakhtiari, Hamdan, Ardabil, Zanjan and Ilam.
The Revolutionary Guards said calm had returned across Iran, state TV reported. Amnesia Amnesty International said over 100 demonstrators had been killed by security forces, a figure rejected as "speculative" by the government.
"The internet is being gradually restored in the country," the semi-official news agency Fars said, quoting unidentified informed sources.
Fars quoted the sources as saying the National Security Council that had ordered the shutdown approved reactivating the internet in "some areas and, according to reports so far, fixed line internet has been restored in Hormozgan, Kermanshah, Arak, Mashhad, Qom, Tabriz, Hamadan and Bushehr provinces, and parts of Tehran".

[Daily Caller] The three most prolific members of the so-called "squad" of freshman Democratic congresswoman face allegations of violating campaign finance laws and House ethics rules for their personal or political benefit 10 months into their terms.
Below are the Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaints and House ethics inquiries that have been filed against Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan since they took Washington, D.C., by storm in January with the promise of bringing about a more equitable and just world.
OCASIO-CORTEZ COULD FACE ’JAIL TIME’ OVER UNREPORTED AFFILIATION WITH OUTSIDE PAC
Ocasio-Cortez’s political rise in 2018 was made possible in large part to Justice Democrats PAC, an outside political action committee that recruited her to enter politics in 2017 and provided much of her campaign’s staffing and overhead needs in the lead-up to her June 2018 primary victory over former Rep. Joe Crowley.
Ocasio-Cortez’s relationship with Justice Democrats became the subject of intense scrutiny in 2019, resulting in two complaints submitted to the FEC.
Then there is Ilhan Omar diverting funds to her boyfriend and Rashida Tlaib paying herself out of campaign funds. This isn't the Third World, ladies.

[TAP.INFO.TN] All Tunisian returnees from conflict zones will be prosecuted upon arrival on the national territory with the exception of children under 13 years old accompanying their parents, said National Counter-Terrorism Commission (CNLCT) President Mokhtar Ben Nasr.
"The new government should welcome Tunisian nationals returning from conflict zones, in compliance with Tunisia's international commitments," he added on Monday in Tunis, on the fringes of a conference on "Gender and violent extremism in North Africa: To the root of the problem."
He pointed out that Tunisia has already welcomed four people back from the conflict zones with the assistance of countries that have pledged to help Tunisia in this matter, without mentioning them. "Negotiations are currently underway to accelerate the repatriation of five other Tunisian terror suspects," he added.
Ben Nasr was reassuring about the prospect of a return to Tunisia of suspected Death Eaters who would benefit from the Ottoman Turkish offensive in north-eastern Syria and the fall of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... Organisation known as "Daech."
"There is no reason to worry," Ben Nasr said, accusing some media of inflating the issue and worrying the population with misleading and thoughtless comments.
In his view, this subject should not be exploited for political or social purposes since any person who arrives on Tunisian soil from conflict zones will be imprisoned or placed in police custody.
"This is a subject that we are following very closely and I want to reassure the entire population that there is no question of a single Tunisian national arriving on the national soil without being prosecuted," he affirmed.
The official explained that these people are immediately taken care of by the justice system upon their arrival. For adults, of course, it is prison or police custody, he specified, adding that children under 13 years old are immediately taken care of by the State in the event of the loss of their parents.
Besides, Ben Nasr indicated that the government is currently endeavouring to ensure the repatriation of trapped children in Libya, explaining that these children could have reached Tunisia some time ago, but their repatriation has been postponed many times because of the fighting in that country.

[DAWN] Prime Minister Imran Khan ...aka The Great Khan, who ain't the brightest knife in the national drawer... on Friday sounded sceptical about the veracity of medical reports on the health of Pakistain Moslem League (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif ...served two three non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf, then by the courts... , saying he was shocked to see the way the former premier ran up the stairs of the air ambulance.
"After seeing him going up the plane stairs, I once again went through the medical reports that suggested he has heart problem, his kidneys are also not functioning properly and that he is a diabetic," Mr Khan told a gathering in his hometown where he opened work on several mega projects.
His comments on the health of Mr Sharif came two days after Chief Justice of Pakistain Asif Saeed Khosa’s remarks that it was the prime minister himself who had allowed "someone" to go abroad.
PM Khan noted that Mr Sharif’s medical reports listed 15 diseases, including cardiac complications, which suggested that the ex-premier was on the verge of demise. "But after seeing Nawaz board the air ambulance, I wondered if the former prime minister got healthy with the first glance of the London-bound airplane," he said.
It may be recalled that Prime Minister Khan had on Nov 19 said his government allowed Nawaz Sharif to travel to London on humanitarian grounds. He had also said the government allowed him to go abroad on the recommendations of the medical board.
[NYPOST] An explosive whistleblower complaint sent to three city councilmen claims the agency charged with investigating wrongdoing in city schools has blocked probes of Mayor Bill de Blasio ...cryptocommie mayor of New York and for some reason a Dem candidate for president in 2020. Corrupt and incompetent, his qualifications for office seem to consist of being married to a black woman, with whom he honeymooned in Cuba. He has a preppy-looking son named Dante, whose Divine Comedy involved getting his back hair up when a police car drove past him slowly... , Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza and their allies, The Post has learned.
The Special Commissioner of Investigation (SCI) for city schools is sitting on nine cases of waste, fraud and corruption involving the upper echelons of City Hall and the Department of Education, according to a type-written, four-page letter that catalogues the wrongdoing in detail.
One of cases cited involves first lady Chirlane McCray’s embattled $850 million mental health program, Thrive, which has a large school component.
The insider document blames Special Commissioner Anastasia Coleman, who was appointed in February 2018, after prevailing in a power struggle with former Department of Investigations Commissioner Mark Peters, an aggressive prober of the mayor’s administration and city agencies.
"Under Coleman, SCI is continuing to hold or redirect investigations into City Hall, Chancellor Richard Carranza and de Blasio allies with business or that are connected to the DOE to protect de Blasio’s image while he runs for president," says the anonymous Aug. 20 letter signed by "SCI Investigative Staff."
De Blasio dropped out of the presidential campaign on Sept. 20.
Other mothballed cases included a probe of possible mayoral interference in an investigation of Orthodox Jewish yeshivas that get city funds but skimp on required secular education; contract spending on de Blasio’s aborted "Renewal" program for failing schools; and allegations about Carranza and his top aides.
"SCI Sherlocks assigned to investigations involving executives at the DOE and City Hall, including the Mayor, have been directed to instead focus on matters not related to the mayoral administration, his allies, etc," the letter says.
[DAWN] Just days before a special court is scheduled to announce its verdict in the high treason case against him, former president retired Gen Pervez Perv Musharraf ... former dictator of Pakistain, who was less dictatorial and corrupt than any Pak civilian government to date ... on Saturday petitioned the Lahore High Court to challenge the reservation of the judgment.
Musharraf's counsel, Khwaja Ahmed Tariq Rahim, approached the high court on his client's behalf, contending that the reserving of the verdict on November 19 was "unconstitutional and void". It was pleaded that the impugned order from that date be suspended and that "the trial in absentia being conducted against the petitioner" be stayed until his physical appearance before the court.
Citing the "landmark judgment" in the Mustafa Impex, Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... vs The Government of Pakistain case, the petition has called for the decision in that case to be enforced and the trial in Musharraf's case to be re-initiated.
Additionally, the petition has argued that the federation of Pakistain and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) "be directed to conduct a proper and unbiased investigation including the names of all alleged aiders and abettors for the proper appreciation of facts and evidence at trial".
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Bangladesh police arrested 15 suspected members of a banned murderous Moslem group from the country’s second-largest city, officials said Saturday.
Chittagong police conducted multiple arrests across the port city, including the regional commander and activists of the outlawed Hizbut Tahrir ...an al-Qaeda recruiting organization banned in most countries. It calls for the reestablishment of the Caliphate... (HT) group, police front man Shah Abdur Rouf said.
"The turbans were being reorganiZed in the city," he told AFP, adding police recovered laptops, mobile phones, murderous Moslem books, and cash to be used for "subversive activities."
The group was banned in the South Asian nation in 2009 for carrying out "anti-state and anti-democratic" activities.
The London-based HT, which calls for a caliphate for all Moslems, has been operating for decades around the world.
Possibly it is time to reassess that decision.
It was banned in Bangladesh in 2009 for carrying out "anti-state and anti-democratic" activities.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Michael Bloomberg will not accept political donations if he runs for president and he will not take a salary if he wins, according to senior aides who offered new details on Saturday about the New York billionaire’s plans to navigate his wealth as he marches toward a formal 2020 announcement.
“He has never taken a political contribution in his life. He is not about to start,” Bloomberg chief adviser Howard Wolfson said in an interview. “He cannot be bought.” Neither could Didius Julianus.
One of the richest men in the world, Bloomberg is sending every indication he has decided to enter the crowded Democratic presidential primary election.
In recent days, he has created a presidential campaign committee with the Federal Election Commission and qualified for the primary ballot in at least three states. Bloomberg’s team has reserved more than $30 million in television ads set to begin running on Sunday in several primary states.
The moves, just 10 weeks before primary voting begins in Iowa, reflects his concern that the current Democratic field is not well-positioned to defeat President Donald Trump next fall.
Bloomberg’s wealth has already emerged as a central issue as the political world awaits his formal announcement. He is estimated to be one of the 10 richest people in the world.
His Democratic rivals pounced on news of Bloomberg’s massive television ad buy, in addition to his decision to bypass the first four states on the presidential primary calendar - Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina - in favor of focusing on the many states that hold primary contests in March.

No sh*t? How have the mighty (at one point he was considered a likely Abbas' successor) fallen.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Æthiopia’s Sidama people have voted overwhelmingly to form their own self-governing region as many of the country’s ethnic groups demand greater autonomy under sweeping reforms led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
The country’s electoral board said on Saturday that provisional results showed 98.5 percent of voters had backed the change in Wednesday’s ballot, with turnout reaching 99.7 percent.
The result grants the Sidama, who represent about 4 percent of Æthiopia’s 105 million population, their own self-governing region - the country’s 10th, control over local taxes, education, security and certain legislation.
Æthiopia’s constitution gives the right to seek autonomy to its more than 80 ethnic groups, but it is only under Abiy’s political reform agenda that the government approved the Sidama request for a referendum.
The country, once one of Africa’s most repressive nations, has been undergoing rapid changes since Abiy was appointed last year, promising to forge a more open society.
But the greater freedoms have also allowed long-repressed ethnic tensions to boil over and emboldened powerful regional strongmen demanding more rights for their people.
Last year, ethnic violence forced more than two million people from their homes and killed hundreds, according to the United Nations ...a formerly good idea gone bad... and monitoring groups.
Saturday’s result may encourage the more than a dozen other ethnic groups that are considering requesting similar votes, a move that could threaten Abiy’s push to unify the country ahead of elections scheduled for 2020.
The Sidama’s new homeland will be carved out of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples (SNNP) region, the most ethnically diverse part of Æthiopia, bordering Kenya and South Sudan. Hawassa, 275 km (170 miles) south of Addis Ababa, will be the new regional capital.
A senior police official in Hawassa told Rooters celebrations had been banned on Saturday but that festivities would be organised once the final result had been announced.
Members of other ethnic groups living in the city said they feared the vote’s outcome meant they could suffer discrimination or become marginalised.
"I’m afraid that the Sidama will come and hurt us ... they will take all the jobs and even if you file a complaint it will go unheard as you will be complaining to one of them," said Tsion, 28, a Hawassa resident who did not want to give her full name for fear of retribution.

[Epoch Times] It’s official. The once deep-red Commonwealth of Virginia is now a blue state. As a result of the Nov. 5 election, Democrats now hold all three of the statewide constitutional offices, both U.S. Senate seats, the majority of its Congress members, and both chambers of the State House.
Laura Ingraham of Fox News says it’s because of "changing demographics." That’s only partially true. Virginia went blue because a handful of well-organized pro-Chinese communists made it happen.
The group in question, New Virginia Majority (NVM), has exploited Virginia’s changing population and "liberal bleed out" from the Washington area to flip not just Northern Virginia but also districts across the state. Based in Alexandria and Richmond, NVM has sent hundreds of paid workers and volunteers out across the commonwealth to register and send to the polls hundreds of thousands of new voters‐all under the nose of the Virginia Republican Party.
MAOIST GROUPS
NVM is led by longtime FRSO/Liberation Road cadre Jon Liss of Alexandria. Several FRSO cadres have served in NVM over the years, as have many activists from two NVM satellite groups, LeftRoots and the Virginia Student Power Network.
FRSO/Liberation Road comes out of the militantly pro-China American Maoist student movement of the 1970s. While it’s more discreet about its Chinese loyalties these days, several of its leading supporters maintain close ties to the People’s Republic.
Fred Engst is a longtime FRSO supporter. Born to U.S. communist parents and raised in China, Engst was educated in the United States, where he became immersed in Maoist politics. He returned to China in 2007 and is now teaching at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing.
Alex Tom, a leader of LeftRoots and the pro-Beijing San Francisco-based Chinese Progressive Association, in 2012 formed the China Education and Exposure Program to “build a deeper analysis of China for US progressives and leftists and to build relationships with the grassroots movement in China,” according to his 2013 LeftForum speaker’s bio.
John Marienthal, a San Jose-based FRSO member, has been a leader of the pro-Beijing U.S.–China Peoples Friendship Association for more than 40 years and has taught in several Chinese educational establishments since the 1980s.
Steve McClure is a former Washington resident who, in the 1970s, was active in the pro-Mao Revolutionary Student Brigade. He has close ties to FRSO and NVM. Since 2010, he has worked with the Geography Department of Wuhan University in China, and he is a research associate with the State Key Laboratory of Engineering Information in Surveying, Mapping, and Remote Sensing at the university.
Jesus, Mary 'n' Joseph... it really feels like the early 70's again: "F--- the police" rioters in Berzerkely. A Weatherman spawn running for and winning the DA office in SF. Politicians being attacked, shot at by left-wing madmen. Domestic spying by the CIA.
And now Maoists. I have to think that the 2020 election will reveal the strength of the Silent Majority the same way that the law-and-order election of 1972 did.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] At least 10 people were killed and 20 others injured on Saturday in a boom-mobile blast in the Syrian border town of Tal Abyad controlled by Ottoman Turkish forces, Syrian state media reported.
The reports stated that the injured were taken to the city hospital, adding that the corpse count could rise due to some who suffered serious injuries.
Areas controlled by regime forces in northern Raqqa in the past few days have witnessed nine similar explosions. The SANA news agency also reported that Ottoman Turkish forces have waged a "violent attack" on Ayn Eissa in the northern countryside of Raqqa on Saturday.
In a statement on Facebook, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (NES) said that Ottoman Turkish forces and their factions "continue to violate the ceasefire agreement and occupy more of our areas."
They said that the attack on Ayn Eissa displaced thousands and "exacerbated the humanitarian crisis."
"Erdogan continues to use the Syrian refugees card as a bargaining chip for political investments," the statement read.
They called on the EU and all countries to clarify their position and impose sanctions on The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor... .
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Swedish media reports say Iraq’s defense minister, who holds dual Iraqi-Swedish citizenship, is suspected of illegally receiving benefits in Sweden.
Local media, citing a Swedish defense official, reported that Najah al-Shammari claimed child and housing support for years despite living in Baghdad. al-Shammari and Swedish officials weren’t immediately available for comment.
Swedish news agency TT said on Friday that al-Shammari, who assumed his post in June, is registered to live in a Stockholm suburb.
Swedish newspaper Expressen reported on Saturday that he moved to Sweden in 2011, received citizenship in 2015 and was reported to authorities, along with his wife, earlier this month for suspected benefits fraud.
He allegedly continued to claim social payments years after returning to Iraq.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Philippine soldiers have killed a krazed killer who had helped a local group linked to ISIS to stage suicide kabooms in the southern province of Sulu, the military said on Saturday.
The body of Talha Jumsah, also known as Abu Talha, was recovered after a clash with Filipino troops on Friday morning in the town of Patikul, military officials said.
They said Abu Talha had been trained in bomb-making by ISIS and had instructed the krazed killerAbu Sayyaf ...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder... Group (ASG) in setting up suicide kabooms. He had also served as "finance conduit and liaison" between foreign and local krazed killers.
"The death of Abu Talha will surely cause demoralisation in the ASG ranks in Sulu," said Army Brigadier General Antonio Nafarrete.
Major General Corleto Vinluan Jr, the commander of military forces in Sulu, urged remaining ASG members to "surrender and live a normal life instead of being hunted down as fleeing criminals".
Early this month, the army said soldiers had foiled what they called an attempted suicide kaboom in an urban area in Jolo municipality in Sulu, the latest in a series of attacks blamed on Abu Sayyaf.
There have been four suicide kabooms in Sulu, Abu Sayyaf's stronghold, in the past 16 months, despite intensified army operations and a vow by Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte to wipe the group out.
The twin bombing of a church in January killed 21 people, a van bomb at a checkpoint in July 2018 killed 11, a suicide attack by two youths killed eight in June, and in September a woman carrying a bomb near an army detachment detonated it prematurely.
The attackers included Indonesians, a Moroccan and Filipinos.
[SummitNews] A New York Times writer who praised Hillary Clinton for wearing a white pantsuit called Tulsi Gabbard a “cult leader” for wearing exactly the same thing.
Style writer Vanessa Friedman had drooled over Hillary’s clothing back in 2016, calling her white pantsuit “presidential.”
However, when Gabbard, a fierce critic of Clinton, wore virtually the exact same outfit, Friedman said it made her look like a “cult leader” full of “combative righteousness” and that the white fabric has “connotations of the fringe, rather than the center” and even undermines “community building.”
Journalist Glenn Greenwald highlighted the fact that it’s normally considered sexist to judge women on their clothing, but that an exception had been made for Gabbard.
Yes, usually it’s misogynistic to attack a female politician for the clothes she wears but an exception will be made (for obvious reasons) in this case.
Another Twitter user pointed out that Friedman had also previously praised Democratic Congresswomen at Trump’s State of the Union for wearing white but lambasted Melania Trump for wearing the same color.
“Imagine choosing something as patently stupid as white pantsuits to expose your rank hypocrisy and blind hatred over,” remarked the Twitter user.
“Only neoliberals and war hawks can wear white suites apparently,” added another.
Apparently, wearing white is a brave expression of purity and leadership, unless you challenge the Democratic establishment or the deep state, at which point it suddenly makes you a “cult leader.”
And people wonder why mainstream journalism is dying.

Because instability is absolutely not something Middle Easterners would accomplish on their own.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Ottoman Turkish and Iranian regional interference, as well as economic issues, are major causes of current Middle East instability, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said on Saturday.
"The past two decades have seen unusual interference in regional affairs - Ottoman Turkish, Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... interference - which adds to the overall instability of the region," said Gargash at the annual IISS Manama Dialogue summit in Bahrain.
He said that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have been confronting Iran’s "expansionist" policy for the past 30 years, and that it has provided an opportunity for cooperation between regional states.
Gargash said that the UAE’s confrontation of terrorism and extremism is a priority, and that given its limited resources stemming from its small size, it is important the UAE moves collectively.
Gargash also said the ongoing demonstrations in Iraq and Leb are primarily related to economic policies.
"The daily demonstrations in Iraq and Leb...it is for mostly about the efficacy about the economic system. It is secondly about corruption," said Gargash, adding he would like to see the region discuss the development of economic policies more.
While Iran and economic policies may be causing destabilization, Gargash did point to a "major success" of conflict resolution in the region: the Riyadh agreement.
"Saudi diplomacy successfully engineered [this agreement]...an essential building block to the stability in Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... ," said Gargash.
