TWO DAYS After Governor Declares CT Sanctuary State – Illegal Alien Murders Mother and Kidnaps 6 Yr-Old Girl
[GP] On Wednesday Connecticut Governor Daniel Malloy issued a memo to his state’s authorities, telling them to ignore federal law regarding illegal immigrants.

Malloy declared Connecticut a sanctuary state.

On Friday a previously deported illegal alien murdered his girlfriend and kidnapped her six year-old daughter. Oscar Obedio Hernandez, an illegal alien from El Salvador, was arrested on Friday night.
"Oscar Obedio Hernandez, a citizen of El Salvador, was issued a Final Order of Removal by an immigration judge on Oct. 29, 2013," said spokesman Shawn Neudauer. "He was removed from the United States by ICE officers in Hartford, CT on Nov. 27, 2013. He has prior felony convictions from 2002 for assault and threatening, as well as several misdemeanor convictions. ICE has placed an immigration detainer with the Bridgeport (Connecticut) Police Department."

Gov. Dan Malloy’s spokeswoman, Kelly Donnelly, issued a statement today regarding the incident between Hernandez and the ICE.
"Our local laws are designed to protect our residents and also ensure that those in harm’s way feel safe seeking help from law enforcement. That’s why convicted violent felons are detained for deportation under our state laws that the governor has consistently and strongly supported." said Donnelly.

An Amber Alert was issued early Friday morning for Aylin Sofia Hernandez, 6, from Bridgeport. Police say her mother, Nidia Gonzalez, 26, was stabbed to death in a domestic dispute with her father. The mother’s female friend is in critical condition after the stabbing, police said.

Shale Is Reshaping America's Oil Trade Balance
h/t Instapundit
America’s crude trade balance is changing. On the import front, the decision by petrostates to cut production (with the intention of erasing a global oil glut to help induce a price rebound) is expected to reduce the amount of oil the U.S. buys from Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Those OPEC members have been constraining output since the beginning of the year, but because it takes roughly six weeks to ship crude from the Middle East to the Americas, we haven’t yet started to see a reduction in supplies from the region.

Now, however, analysts are expecting Saudi and Iraqi imports to start declining as those cuts start to make American oil more attractive to U.S. refiners than their Middle East competitors. The EIA explains:

[R]ecent market developments, including the November 2016 agreement among certain members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to reduce production and the recent widening of price differences between Dubai/Oman crude oil and U.S.-produced Mars crude oil, suggest that U.S. imports from Saudi Arabia and Iraq are now becoming less attractive to U.S. refiners. [...]

After OPEC announced crude oil production cuts in late November 2016, the relative price of Dubai/Oman crude oil rose because the supply reductions pledged by Middle East producers disproportionately affected medium, sour crudes. In January 2017, the price premium of Dubai/Oman over Mars reached its highest level in more than a year, likely encouraging U.S. refiners to process more domestic medium, sour barrels while reducing imports of comparable grades from the Middle East.

Of course, U.S. oil production has a pivotal role to play in all of this. The shale revolution was the chief reason behind the market oversupply that necessitated these petrostate cuts in the first place, and our rising oil output isn’t just changing how we’re buying crude, it’s also changing how we’re selling it. As Bloomberg reports, our exports are surging to a 24-year high:

Counter-terror failures and fifth column thrilled at "nothing to do with Islam" McMasters NSA appointment
Moved to Page 4 since it's 'Opinion'
BY ROBERT SPENCER

Who is applauding the appointment of H. R. McMaster as national security adviser? Leading the applause are mainstream counterterror analysts whose policy recommendations are based on false premises and have failed time and time again. But even as the world is in flames because of their wrongheadedness, they still keep pushing the same failed analyses again and again.

Cheerleading for McMaster's denial and willful ignorance in Politico today is Will McCants of the Brookings Institution. The Brookings Institution is heavily funded by Qatar, one of the world's chief financiers of jihad terror. That funding has turned Brookings into an apologist for jihad, giving a platform to Muslim Brotherhood cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who has praised Hitler and endorsed jihad suicide attacks, and Hamas-linked CAIR's Nihad Awad, among others.

McCants himself is the establishment counter-terror "expert" who was involved with the Obama State Department's laughable Think Again Turn Away social media initiative to try to shame jihadis into leaving the jihad based on beliefs and values that the jihadis didn't hold in the first place. McCants has waved away the term "radical Islam" thusly: "Every bit of that phrase is analytically unhelpful...Is this the wine-drinking Islam of the poets? The court Islam of the caliph? What kind of Islam are you even talking about?"

Well, Will, how about the Islam of the Qur'an and Sunnah? It's really very simple: it involves taking the people who say they're motivated by Islamic texts and teachings at their word, rather than condescendingly telling them, "No, you're actually motivated by poverty and lack of economic opportunity, here, we'll give you some cash and build you a school and we'll be pals then, right?"
The worst damage is this culturally disarms the public who, dutifully believing "nothing to do with islam" and "no to islamophobia" put pressure on government and law enforcement to do nothing about the attacking ideology of Islamism. Like AIDS it disables our immune response to a hostile invader.

McMaster's attitude is ideological AIDS left over from Obama/Bush.

McCants has also claimed that the Islamic State was not following Islamic rules of warfare, in the process demonstrating only that he has a hazy idea, at best, of what those rules of warfare really are.

Most ominously of all, he recommended in January 2014 that the U.S. "befriend" the al-Qaeda-linked jihad group Ahrar al-Sham. This was the kind of thinking that led to Obama's disastrous policies of arming and training al-Qaeda groups, including Ahrar al-Sham, in Syria.

As Will McCants himself might put it, his analyses again and again are "crazy pants." But he is very happy about McMaster as NSA, because McMaster, like McCants, doesn't dare identify the jihadis' motivating ideology. Note his use in this article of the word "Islamophobes," a propaganda term cynically employed by Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups in the U.S. to intimidate people into fearing to oppose jihad terror.

McCants says: "The Islamophobes are not wrong to sense that McMaster will be hostile to their worldview, according to those who know him best. McMaster spent much of his career fighting and winning wars in the Middle East, which required him to know the local cultures and treat Muslims like humans rather than scripturally programmed robots."

He is implying that my colleagues and I think all Muslims behave in exact accord with the Qur'an and Sunnah, which is of course straw man nonsense. What we insist upon, and what Will McCants and his colleagues are determined to obscure, explain away, or ignore outright, is that Islamic texts and teachings are the key element of the motivating ideology of the jihad terrorists, as they themselves insist, and that we can only understand and counter them effectively if we understand those texts and teachings.

Instead, we get the puerile and silly McCants cheering on the unfortunate appointment of another purveyor of the denial that was all-pervasive during the Obama administration. We can only hope that McMaster was just echoing the party line, and will be prepared to be more realistic as a member of President Trump's team.
He won't. We voted Trump in to drain that swamp but we won't get it. Trump gets his wall and to kick out illegals, but he doesn't get to fix the BIG MISTAKE made right after 9/11 because its ENTRENCHED. Bureacratic inertia. The stupids have won.
"McMaster Has the Islamophobes Worried. Good.," by William McCants, Politico, February 23, 2017:

When America's most influential Islamophobes are upset, you know the president made a good choice. "Score one [for] the swamp," whined Robert Spencer upon hearing the news that Donald Trump appointed Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster to be his national security adviser. Spencer makes a living scaring Americans about the dangers of Muslim soccer moms.

Yeah, soccer moms like Tashfeen Malik.

#2  We really are better off not declaring all Islam the enemy - even if it was true, which it is not (quite.) Makes better sense to silently encourage many of them to fight each other (and/or Russia and China) and the rest to sit on the sidelines, rather than all uniting to fight us.

#7  Glenmore: It's NOT about declaring all Islam the enemy

it's about HONESTLY facing the fact in word and deed that it's not "nothing to do with Islam".

It's not "everything to do with Islam"

but it IS "something to do with Islam"

and the sooner our leaders admit this openly and have the discussion the sooner we can start targeting that something.

by saying "nothing to do with islam" is why people are dead in san bernadino because Tashveen Malik and I hope their families sue the government for this.

saying "nothing to do with islam" is why theocrats now are way more powerful across the Islamic world today than they were on 9/11 or before we went to war in iraq and stupidly let sharia be put in the constitution

Social Security Administration Ups Earning Cap for 2017 to $127,200.
Moved to Page 3

[Paychex] Next year, millions more U.S. workers than in 2016 will pay higher Social Security taxes thanks to the Social Security Administration's (SSA's) 2017 tax rate and wage base. The SSA has raised the maximum amount of earnings subject to the Social Security payroll tax by 7.3 percent to $127,200--up by $8,700 from the $118,500 maximum for 2016 and 2015.

The SAA notes, "Of the estimated 173 million workers who will pay Social Security taxes in 2017, about 12 million will pay more because of the increase in the taxable maximum." The adjustment, effective Jan. 1, is the largest one-year bump since 1983, and stems from the government's estimate of real-wage growth.

When it happens at about the same time each year.... is it still news ?

Eddie Johnson, Chicago police supt.: No response from Donald Trump on our requests
[Wash Times] Chicago’s police superintendent fired back at President Trump over his criticism of the city over recent shootings, saying the president hasn’t responded to local officials’ requests for aid to combat crime.

“Seven people shot and killed yesterday in Chicago. What is going on there — totally out of control. Chicago needs help!” wrote Mr. Trump on his Twitter account Thursday.

It’s at least the second time Mr. Trump has highlighted crime in Chicago as president, having previously threatened to “send in the Feds” if they city couldn’t “fix the horrible ‘carnage’ going on.”
Supt. Eddie Johnson responded Thursday night, acknowledging that the gun violence is “unacceptable.”

But he noted that the city’s suggestions for ways the federal government could help stem the violence have gone unanswered.

Dakota Access pipeline poised to flow oil within weeks as project roars ahead of schedule
[Wash Times] After months of protest-driven delays, the Dakota Access pipeline is now running ahead of schedule and expected to be ready to deliver oil as early as next month.
Attorneys for Energy Transfer Partners said in a court-ordered status report Thursday that the final 1,100-foot section is nearly finished, which would enable the 1,172-mile, four-state pipeline to begin operations months ahead of previous estimates.
"Dakota Access reports that the pilot hole is complete," said the report filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court. "The company is currently reaming the hole -- i.e., making it larger in order to accept the pipe. As of now, Dakota Access estimates and targets that the pipeline will be complete and ready to flow oil anywhere between the week of March 6, 2017 and April 1, 2017."

Standing in the way are the Standing Rock Sioux and Cheyenne River Sioux, which have filed a lawsuit to stop the project pending the completion of an environmental impact study by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The tribes have also asked for "meaningful pre-decisional government-to-government consultation."

U.S. District Court Judge James A. Boasberg approved Thursday an expedited briefing schedule, setting a March 23 deadline for the corps and Energy Transfer Partners to respond to the tribes’ request for summary judgment.

#2  The protests almost succeeded. It was a good strategic plan - don't mount a significant protest until the last second (or 1000') after all the capital is spent, then use any excuse to delay completion and cash flow so the project will go bankrupt. Makes me wonder who would have bought the project in bankruptcy - Burlington Northern RR?

Wall Street sees Trump rally coming to an end
[The Hill] Wall Street analysts are pumping the brakes on the Trump stock market rally.
Analysts start and stop market rallies? Who knew?
Experts are adjusting their expectations of how long it will take for President Trump to follow through on campaign promises to unlock domestic investment and cut back on regulatory red tape.

Stocks have rallied since Trump's election, with the Dow Jones Industrial Index reaching unprecedented heights and billions poured into funds that track U.S. stocks.

But financial analysts and other stock traders say a lack of clarity from the administration on economic policies -- along with constant distractions in the White House -- are delaying key measures to boost the economy.

Analysts? Experts? Trackers? Which 'analysts and experts?' Those employed by 'The Hill?' All market rallies peak and slumber over the short-term.

Sheriff David Clarke: ‘I Sense Pride in Our Nation I Have Found Lacking for the Last Eight Years'
[Breitbart] Sheriff David Clarke began his closing address to CPAC 2017 as he knew everyone familiar with him would expect, by declaring “Blue Lives Matter in America!”
“To what purpose did our Founding Fathers and the soldiers of our great Continental Army strive? Did they work to form the horrible mistake of what progressive Democrats call the Great Society – a place of cradle-to-grave reliance on the benevolent providence of government as the father, the mother, the breadwinner, and the teacher?”

Clarke asked as he settled down to the primary business of his speech.
“I think not,” he answered. “You see, General Washington was rightly and firstly proud of the nation that he believed lay within the grasp of the colonists, as they struggled to tear it away from the corpulent arms of an overbearing King of England. George Washington wrote to Benjamin Franklin that no country upon Earth had it more in its power to attain these blessings than united America.”

Clarke quoted extensively from Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, Ronald Reagan, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in his address. His overall theme was a call to arms; his closing request was for CPAC attendees to go out and fight. It was, in some respects, the type of closing speech one might have expected to hear if Republicans had lost the 2016 presidential election. Clarke’s purpose was to impress upon his conservative audience that they faced determined opposition from the Left, and would need to remain in fighting trim themselves if they wanted President Donald Trump to implement the policies they voted for.

Clarke stressed that Washington and his revolutionaries “never intended to build a nation to be ruled from a throne room or a centralized government.”
“They weren’t building a land where Boston, or Philadelphia, or New York City, or even today’s capital city that bears his name would dictate terms and conditions to the American people,” he continued. “No, their efforts to secure the basic human rights endowed by the Creator and formation of a most limited government, instituted justly by men and deriving its limited powers from the consent of the governed. They embraced the concept of self-rule.”

DJT brings Special Forces students into Oval Office for visit and foto op.
[Breitbart] President Trump, in his third week in office, met with a class of Green Beret candidates and brought them into the Oval Office for the first time in the course’s history.
The 18 Army officers in the Special Forces Qualification Course, or "Q-course," were visiting the National Security Council in early February, as a normal part of the course.

But this time, Deputy Assistant to the President Sebastian Gorka, who was scheduled to speak to the students, had suggested that they meet the president.

The plan was to take them into the Roosevelt Room in the West Wing of the White House, but Trump decided to invite them into the Oval Office, to take pictures with them for their families.

-Land of the Free
General McMaster's misunderstanding of the Islamist threat a danger to National Security
Moved to Page 4 (Opinion)

BY HUGH FITZGERALD

[Jihadwatch] President Trump has chosen Lt. General William McMaster as his new National Security Adviser. As a three-star general, McMaster's appointment will require Senate confirmation, and one hopes that the Senators before they vote will take the opportunity to examine his understanding of Islamic terrorism. For surely this is the greatest threat not only to American security, but to that of the entire West.
... (snip)
Muslims have a duty to spread Islam by means of Jihad, which overwhelmingly means the use of violence, though it can be conducted through other means - as, for example, Jihad of the Pen/Tongue, to spread Islam's message.

Today, along with violence, a new instrument - demographic conquest - is being used to overwhelm the Infidels and spread Islam. "New" because never before in history have millions of people dedicated to the long-term destruction of others been allowed by those others to settle deep behind what ought be regarded as enemy lines, as Muslims have now been allowed to settle throughout Western Europe.

If Muslim numbers do surpass those of the indigenous non-Muslims, Muslims will be in a position to offer non-Muslims a choice: either to convert to Islam, or be killed, or to accept the permanent status of dhimmi, with all of its attendant disabilities. And there is no end to Jihad; it should continue until the whole world is ultimately subjected to Islam. There is nothing -- pace General McMaster -- "cynical" about any of this.

As for those phrases repeated by General McMaster about this "perverse interpretation of religion [used] to justify violence" which becomes, in his longer variant, a "perverted interpretation of religion to incite hatred and justify horrific cruelty against innocents," the only "perverted interpretation" of Islam is, I'm afraid, that of General McMaster himself, who appears certain that Islam properly understood cannot possibly inculcate anything that might "incite hatred and justify violence" against non-Muslims. I'm not sure which would be worse: that he may think he must pretend to believe this nonsense in order to avoid being accused of Islamophobia and to safely rise high in the Washington ranks, or that he really believes it.

Perhaps before they vote, some Senators will press him on this, trying to find out what McMaster thinks Islam, mainstream Islam, teaches and how it differs from that "perverse interpretation" to which he keeps referring.
(snip)
Many of the Senators voting on General McMaster’s appointment will prefer not to press these points. Most Democrats will agree with his pollyannish remarks on Islam. Most Republicans may simply wish to defer to the general as a Trump appointee, wrongly assuming that he must, therefore, be "tough" on Islam. Few senators will have the stomach to discuss Islam truthfully in public, knowing they will then have to endure the usual idiotic charges of bigotry and "Islamophobia" from those whose minds are made up, and who do not want to be confused with facts.
It's back to the bad old days of lying for Islam, folks. The Bush-era intel bureaucrats have won. We voted for Trump so we could change our failed approach to this problem. We wanted Flynn. But the vote didn't matter. Trump is our president in name only.

Not as bad as that, anon1. Looking at his actions so far: the Don understands business, but not the business of war. However, if USA oil/natural gas production is not hampered by enviro-malice --- IMO, Islam is only important because of petrodollars.

#13  And then [McMaster during confirmation] might add: “It is up to us to figure out how best we can help those born into Islam, without any choice in the matter, who recognize those troublesome aspects of their faith that are inimical to real peace and real tolerance, and for which they would like to find a solution, if such is possible.” An unflinching statement like that, from General McMaster, despite the subsequent howls of protest by CAIR and the Southern Poverty Law Center, would be enough – would be more than enough – to clear a good many minds of cant.

It's doubtful we can eradicate fundamental Islam without the Muslim world itself coming to the understanding that it must change. The question is, will it take ten years or two hundred? Or will Armageddon intervene first?

#15  You cannot "fix" islam. It is an ideology of conquest and submission, with a thin shell of religion.

The war of words gets you nowhere. What we need to to is to get our country and our allies energy independent of mideast oil and force islam to deal with itself. Islam will have to reform itself, die trying, or kill each other off. There is no basis of trust, so we can associate where we have to, but otherwise they are on their own.

Posted by: g(r)omgoru || 02/26/2017 12:44 Comments || Top||

#17  alaska paul: i agree, we can't fix islam and why should we even try it is their problem

they want to live in the dark ages hugging their koran then let them

our problem is our polity, media, public and deep state have all drunk the kool aid "nothing to do with islam" for 15 years now, that's a generation

our borders are open for muslims to migrate in and they have, despite the Muslim Brotherhood's open agenda of civilisational jihad, setting up fifth columns and settlement conquest across the West.

but the problem with McMasters who doesn't get it, and the sacking of Flynn who does, is that you can't say one thing and do another

McMasters can't say "nothing to do with islam" and work behind the scenes to sort the problem

The entire problem is now the inability to act because of widespread misunderstanding of the nature of the threat.

All our defences are down. It's like we have AIDS and Islam is the common cold.

It's easy to fix with some antibiotics but we are not going to take them because we don't think we need them and we don't understand the problem

we will die of pneumonia unless we address the problem.

Flynn got it. Flynn was ready to address the problem. Flynn is gone.
Posted by: anon1 || 02/26/2017 19:05 Comments || Top||

#18  Frank G: yes i am Aussie and the problem is worse if anything here. Actual sharia compliant laws have been passed banning the "vilification of religion" at the lobbying of Islamists in several states you cannot draw a cartoon of mohammad for fear that someone may take "offense" then sue you civilly.

This is a key part of the jihad: impose the supremacy of islam and make criticism of it impossible if not illegal.

the termites have been feasting on the foundations for 20 years now. the rot is deep. They are not just targeting the US it's across the Western world.

The entire West was looking to Trump to show leadership on this. We all needed Flynn. We needed them to take a stand against Islamism, to honestly state the problem, so that our own governments can follow suit.

Flynn's appointment would have helped the UK, Europe, Australia and Canada's opposition not just the US. We were all counting on him.

Anglican Church in Ismailia receives 30 families escaping attacks on Christians in North Sinai
[AlAhram] The Anglican Church in Egypt's Ismailia has received almost 30 Christian families, including 150 people, who escaped North Sinai's Capital al-Arish after several terrorist attacks targeting Christians in the city, church official Nabil Shukrallah Basta told Ahram Arabic news website on Saturday.

Basta said that the families have been housed in different areas of the city, including at a youth hostel, and that more Christian families are expected to arrive today.

Basta also mentioned the support the church has received from the Dubara Church in Cairo, along with other churches, as well as the support of the Ismailia governorate in containing the crisis.

In the past few days, churches in Ismailia have received dozens of Coptic families who escaped the North Sinai city for fear of being targeted.

Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Church issued a statement on Friday condemning "the repeated terrorist attacks targeting Egyptian Christians in North Sinai."

Social solidarity minister Ghada Waly visited on Saturday the International Youth Hostel in Ismailia to check on the Christian families staying there, assuring that this is a temporary situation and that they will be back to their homes within days.

Ismailia Governor Yassin Taher said that the displaced families are welcome in the governorate, and that he has received many calls from the residents of Ismailia offering to host the displaced families.

Over the past two weeks, eight terrorist attacks have targeted Christians in North Sinai, including the murder of three people in al-Arish on Wednesday and Thursday.

Judge won't dismiss Bergdahl case over Trump comments
A military judge will not dismiss charges against Bowe Bergdahl despite President Trump's harsh criticism of the Army sergeant during the campaign. According to The Associated Press, Army Col. Jeffery Nance ruled on Friday that while Trump's comments were "disturbing and disappointing" they hadn't prevented the soldier from receiving a fair trial.

Bergdahl's lawyers have maintained that the case against their client should be dropped in light of Trump's public remarks. Trump repeatedly blasted Bergdahl during the presidential campaign, labeling him a "traitor."

"We're tired of Sgt. Bergdahl, who's a traitor, a no-good traitor, who should have been executed," Trump said in October 2015.

“Thirty years ago, he would have been shot,” he added.

The prosecutors, however, argued that the comments are not relevant to the case since they were made before Trump became the commander in chief.
Though it does suggest that Bergdahl won't get a pardon from Trump if indeed he is convicted...
Bergdahl is charged with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy after walking off his post in Afghanistan in 2009. He was later captured by the Taliban and remained a prisoner until 2014, when the Obama administration secured his release in exchange for five Taliban prisoners.

Bergdahl is scheduled for trial in April and could face life in prison.
I think Trump is smart enough to keep quiet and let the system work.

Traffic Infraction of undetermined motive in Heidelberg
[BBC] One dead, two injured in Heidelberg car attack

A man has died and two other people were hurt after a man drove into a pedestrian area in Heidelberg, Germany.

The attacker, said to have been armed with a knife, was shot, injured and arrested by police in a brief standoff after fleeing the scene on foot.

His motives are unclear, but there are no indications this was a terrorist attack, police say.

In December an Islamist attacker drove a lorry into a Berlin Christmas market, killing 12 people and injuring 49.

In Heidelberg the attacker, described by police as a 35-year-old German "without a migration background", drove what is thought to be a rental car into pedestrians in one of the city's central squares, injuring three people. One of them, a 73-year-old German man, later died in hospital.

The attacker then left the car but was tracked down, shot and seriously injured by police near an old swimming pool.

Police were unable to confirm local media reports that the attacker was mentally disturbed. He is thought to have acted alone.

The two injured people were a 32-year-old Austrian national and a 29-year-old Bosnian woman, police said. Their injuries are said to be minor and they have been discharged from hospital.

    #1  Update from Deutsche Welle:

The man who drove his rental car into a pedestrian zone in Heidelberg in southwestern Germany, will not be released from police custody anytime soon. On Sunday, an arrest warrant was issued against the 35-year-old German, charging him with one case of murder and three cases of attempted murder.

According to the press release, the 35-year-old man is a university student who lived in Heidelberg and has no criminal record. He had rented the vehicle used in the attack two weeks previously.

The knife the man was carrying when he fled the scene was a standard kitchen knife. He reportedly did not comply with the officers' requests to put down the knife when police caught up with him a few hundred meters from the crashed car.

According to the police statement, a policeman fired his gun after the suspect ignored repeated calls to put down the knife and began charging at the officers who had unsuccessfully tried to stop him with pepper spray.

Zakhilwal hopeful on partial reopening of Pak-Afghan routes
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan Ambassador to Pakistain says he is hopeful that the travel routes between Afghanistan and Pakistain will partially reopen today.

He said the Afghan authorities are hopeful that the travel routes will completely reopen in coming three or four days.

Zakhilwal further added that elder men, patients and children will be able to travel today while those who have travelled to Pakistain with visas will be able to return back to Afghanistan.

He urged the Afghan people to travel with full documents including visas once the travel routes are fully reopened.

Pakistain closed all travel routes between the two countries nearly ten days ago following a series of deadly attacks in the country.

The Pak officials claimed that the attacks were plotted and carried out by the Lions of Islam stationed inside the Afghan soil.

The decision was particularly taken after a deadly suicide kaboom rocked the Sehwan city of Pakistain, leaving over 70 people dead and scores of others maimed.

Libya Govt Secures Ceasefire after Tripoli Clashes
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] A ceasefire went into force early Saturday in the Libyan capital after two days of fighting between rival gunnies injured nine people and forced residents to cower indoors, the government said.

The fighting between two rival gangs in eastern Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
erupted on Thursday after one accused the other of kidnapping four of its members, the Tripoli-based news agency LANA reported.

It said families trapped in the conflict zone of Abu Slim appealed to the authorities to intervene to halt the violence which closed down the city centre.

The UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) said it had successfully brokered a ceasefire between the two groups, with help from town elders from Tarhuna and Gharian south of Tripoli.

An agreement has been reached to set up three committees to follow up on the accord, the GNA said in a statement released overnight.

One committee will be tasked with enforcing the ceasefire, another consisting of health ministry officials will follow up the condition of those maimed and the third will assess damage, the statement said.

The Libyan Red Islamic Thingy on Friday said nine people had been injured in the fighting. There was no official casualty toll.

LANA said the fighting with heavy weapons in the centre of Tripoli erupted Thursday and raged throughout the day. A truce was reached, but quickly collapsed and festivities continued on Friday.

Talks with Kabul on terror concerns under way
[DAWN] Pakistain and Afghanistan have started negotiating a mechanism for addressing each other’s concerns over terrorism and can strike a deal next week.

This was disclosed by Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj PrunefaceAziz
...Adviser to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs, who believes in good jihadis and bad jihadis as a matter of national policy...
at a media briefing on the upcoming Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) summit.

"Both sides have said that terrorism is a common enemy and both sides agree that there should be cooperation for dealing with this issue. We are holding discussions for a joint mechanism," he said.

Pakistain and Afghanistan have long accused each other of harbouring terrorist sanctuaries, and the issue once again came into limelight after the recent spate of terrorist attacks in Pakistain, which claimed over 100 lives. Pakistain reacted angrily and closed border crossings with Afghanistan, demanded handover of 76 wanted snuffies and shelled terrorist hideouts on the Afghan side of the border.

...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
and punching into built-up areas of the jihadists’ last major stronghold in the country.

Troops advanced in several more populated, built-up southern districts and about 1,000 civilians walked across the frontlines, the largest displacement since fighting began a week ago in a bid to deal Islamic State a decisive blow.

The new offensive comes after government forces and their allies finished clearing Islamic State from eastern Mosul last month, confining the bully boyz to the western sector of the city bisected by the Tigris river.

Commanders expect the battle in western Mosul to be more difficult, in part because tanks and armored vehicles cannot pass through the narrow alleyways that crisscross ancient districts of the city.

But Iraqi forces have so far made quick advances on multiple fronts, capturing the northern city’s airport on Thursday, which they plan to use as a support zone, and breaching a three-meter high berm and trench set up by Islamic State.

The advancing forces are now less than three kilometers (two miles) from the mosque in Mosul’s old city where Islamic State leader His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
declared a caliphate in 2014 spanning Iraq and Syria, sparking an international military campaign to defeat the group.

Losing Mosul would likely deal a hammer blow to the krazed killers’ dream of statehood, but they still control swathes of territory in Syria and patches of northern and western Iraq from where they could fight a guerrilla-style insurgency in Iraq, and plot attacks on the West.

Federal police and an elite Interior Ministry unit known as Rapid Response have completely recaptured Hawi al-Josaq just north of the airport and begun clearing houses in the Tayyaran district, said Brigadier General Hisham Abdul Kadhim.

Islamic State was resisting with snipers and roadside kabooms, he said.

Separately, counter-terrorism forces were advancing on two directions towards Wadi Hajr and Mamoun districts, said Lieutenant General Abdelwahab al-Saadi, a senior commander.

"Clearing operations are ongoing and our forces have entered those areas," he told Rooters on a hill overlooking the battle.

Saadi said an Islamic State suicide boom-mobile had been destroyed on Saturday morning before reaching its target.

    CIVILIANS START TO FLEE

The campaign involves a 100,000-strong force of Iraqi troops, Shi’ite militias and Sunni tribal fighters. It is backed by a U.S.-led coalition that provides vital air support as well as on-the-ground guidance and training.

Western advisors are increasingly present close to the frontline, helping coordinate air strikes and advising Iraqi forces as the battle unfolds.

About a thousand civilians, mostly women and kiddies, walked out of southwestern parts of Mosul on Saturday and climbed into military trucks taking them to camps further south.

    The United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
says up to 400,000 people may have to leave their homes during the new offensive as food and fuel runs out in western Mosul. Aid groups warned on Friday that the most dangerous phase of the offensive was about to begin.

Some of the people fleeing the Mamoun area said they were originally from Hammam al-Alil, south of Mosul, but were forced to move four months ago as Islamic State retreated north into the city.

"They began shelling us arbitrarily, so we hid in the bathrooms. When the security forces came, they yelled to us so we fled to them," said civilian Mahmoud Nawwaf.

The government is encouraging residents to stay in their homes whenever possible, as they did in eastern Mosul where fewer people fled than expected.

A Rooters correspondent near the airport saw nine families living in a house where residents with full beards served trays of tea to security forces. Some said Islamic State had forced them to move from Samarra, 250 km (160 miles) south of Mosul.

Abu Naba, 37, said he was surprised at how quickly the murderous Moslems had been driven out.

"We could hear their voices outside and 15 minutes later they were gone," he said.

A woman with a baby wrapped in a blanket on her lap said she had given birth in the house 22 days ago because it was too dangerous to reach a hospital.

    India-Pakistan
Body parts of shrine ‘bomber’ preserved, says CTD
[DAWN] KARACHI: Investigators have made some progress in the Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine blast probe as a team of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) assigned with the job has collected 46 parts of the suspected bomber’s body, which have been preserved for further examination to ascertain his identity, a top official said on Saturday.

CTD SSP Omer Shahid Hamid, who is leading one of the investigation teams, speaking at a presser and later on speaking to Dawn, said that DNA samples of the suspected attacker had been taken for identification purpose.

    However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
he regretted that if there had been a nationwide DNA database, it would have helped them to ascertain the identity of the bomber more easily.

Mr Hamid said three separate teams were working on the case -- one was led by another CTD SSP, Pervez Chandio, and another by the district police of Jamshoro and Dadu.

He disclosed that several persons had been taken into custody by the CTD and the district police for interrogation but so far no ’hard and fast’ evidence had emerged during the investigation.

The CTD SSP said they had some leads and were working on them. Mr Hamid said that since 2010, suspected Death Eater Hafeez Brohi, or Pandrani, had been found involved in all terror acts in upper Sindh and that the police suspected his network’s involvement in the deadly kaboom in Sehwan. He said Brohi had remained associated with the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi
... a 'more violent' offshoot of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistain. LeJ's purpose in life is to murder anyone who's not of utmost religious purity, starting with Shiites but including Brelvis, Ahmadis, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Rosicrucians, and just about anyone else you can think of. They are currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of al-Qaeda ...
"It did not mean that we are ruling out other options," he added.

The CTD official said they were also questioning a detained suspect, Usman, who was tossed in the slammer
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
during a botched suicide kaboom in Shikarpur recently.

Earlier, speaking at a presser, Mr Hamid said the CTD team had arrested three suspected hitmen in Malir’s Jaffar-e-Tayyar Society.

"The held hitmen [have been] identified as Anwar Husain, Asif Mumtaz and Khurram Shaharyar" belonging to the "Muttahida Qaumi Movement
...English: United National Movement, generally known as MQM, is the 3rd largest political party and the largest secular political party in Pakistain with particular strength in Sindh. From 1992 to 1999, the MQM was the target of the Pak Army's Operation Cleanup leaving thousands of urdu speaking civilians dead...

    Afghanistan
ISIS may develop regional power base in Northwest of Afghanistan: ISW
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The loyalists of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group may develop a regional power base in northwestern Afghanistan, the Institute for the Study of War has said in a report, citing the recent activities by the terror group northern parts of the country.

The institute particularly pointed towards the recent killing of ICRC workers and abduction of some of their workers in northern Jawzjan province.

According to ISW, the loyalists of the terror group may particularly use the opportunity provided to them with the absence of the Junbish-e-Millie fighters led by the Vice President General Abdul Rashid Dostum
...ethnic Uzbek warlord who distinguished himself fighting the Soviets and the Taliban. The story that he had a bad guy run over with a tank is an exaggeration. It was an armored personnel carrier...
"ISIS’s expansion in the region comes as First Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum, who maintains significant influence in the North through his Junbish Militia, remains confined to his home surrounded by his militia in Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
City following a scandal involving the alleged assault of former Jowzjan Provincial Governor Ahmad Eschi in November 2016 by his bodyguards," the US-based think tank said in a report.

The report further added that "The lack of reported Junbish militia action to combat ISIS-linked gunnies in Northern Afghanistan may represent the absence of Junbish militias. Alternatively, Dostum may be sanctioning the expansion of ISIS in the region in order to demonstrate his significance to Afghan security in an attempt to relieve the political pressure to prosecute him for the alleged assault."

    "Meanwhile,
...back at the hanging, Butch continued with his last words, trying not to repeat himself too often......
the ANSF is currently undergoing a U.S.-led force regeneration process during their 2016-2017 winter campaign. The Afghan National Unity Government has historically relied on a joint force of ANSF units and Junbish gunnies to provide security in northwestern Afghanistan. The lessened presence of Dostum’s militia while the ANSF rests and refits units may be granting ISIS-linked gunnies increased freedom of movement in the region," the report added.

This comes as the Afghan officials have long been expressing concerns regarding the attempts being made by the ISIS loyalists to expand in northern parts of the country as they look to infiltrate further into the Central Asian States.

    Syria-Lebanon-Iran
CENTCOM commander visits Kurdish-led SDF troops amidst ongoing Raqqa operation
[ARA] General Joseph Votel, head of the U.S. Central Command, visited Kurdish headquarters at the Kobani and Raqqa frontlines on Friday to discuss the final phase of the Euphrates Wrath campaign to capture Raqqa in another sign of support for the Syrian Democratic Forces.

General Votel’s visit to the Kobani and Raqqa frontlines comes a few days after Republican Senator John Maverick McCain
... the Senator-for-Life from Arizona, former presidential candidate and even more former foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution. As an ordinary citizen he greased the infamous hookers peeing on the Obamabed in Moscow dossier in an attempt to smear President Trump...
visited Kobani ahead of a review of U.S. strategy and plans against ISIS. The visit was arranged with the help of the US army. US army and US officials have also had meeting with Turkish officials the last few weeks.

According to the front man of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Talal Silo, General Votel discussed the recent developments of the SDF’s Raqqa campaign and ways to increase coordination and support.

"General Votel’s visit to meet with SDF commanders is a signal that the U.S. military is preparing for the next, and likely final, phase in the campaign to seize Raqqa," Nicholas A. Heras, Bacevich Fellow at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), told ARA News.

"It is, in fact, a great honor for the SDF to host the leader of the entire U.S. Central Command. It demonstrates that the SDF is trusted with the General’s life and well-being," he added.

"It also demonstrates that General Votel considers the SDF to be strong and close enough partners to be willing to personally visit SDF leaders to confer with them on the strategy to deal the death blow to ISIS in Raqqa," Heras told ARA News.

The visit also comes a day after pro-The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
rebel groups in Syria threatened to attack the SDF-held town of Manbij, especially after the Turkish army and Salafist tough guys captured al-Bab city on Thursday.

US officials fear a Turkish attack on Manbij could significantly delay the ongoing SDF-led operation to isolate Raqqa. If the Turkey-backed rebels would attack Manbij, the SDF would have to send more fighters to protect Manbij from Turkey’s aggression.

Belgian Kurd becomes Federal Secretary, Turkish hissy fit
[ARA] The Phlegmish nationalist MP Zuhal Demir, a Kurd born in Belgium, was sworn in as the new Secretary of State (Junior Minister) of Belgium.

She took over the job of her colleague Elke Sleurs and became the new Secretary of State for Equal Rights, Disabled Persons, Scientific Policy, Urban Policy and fighting Poverty.

"We congratulate Zuhal Demir on her appointment as Secretary of State," Falah Mustafa, the head of foreign affairs of the Kurdistan Region said on Saturday.

Demir, 36, was born in the Limburg city of Genk. Her parents immigrated to Genk from the Kurdish town of Dersim in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
From January 2013 to the end of 2015, Zuhal Demir was District Mayor in the central district of Antwerp. She left the post to return to her hometown of Genk.

The Turkish media responded negatively to the appointment, calling it a scandal, accusing her of attending a meeting of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in Belgium.

    However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
Demir says she is a pacifist and has no sympathy for the PKK.

"Just because you have Kurdish roots, it doesn’t mean you are supporting the PKK. On the contrary, violence can never be a solution," she said.
Ask Kaiser Bill. Ask Harold Godwinson. Ask Napoleon Bonapart. Ask any Gepid.
Earlier a picture was shown of Demir attending a meeting with a PKK flag and a portrait of the imprisoned PKK-leader Abdullah Ocalan.

"I have never attended a PKK-meeting, but a meeting of a cultural Kudish association in Antwerpen. For years, I plead for a peaceful solution for the Kurds in Turkey. I am sick and tired of these suspicions," she said.

Earlier the Turkish media posted a picture claiming that Demir was a female fighter of the PKK, but she denies this. "I am not the woman on the picture of the Kurdish fighters. They did this on purpose to frame me," she said, threatening to take legal action.

‘Everyone hates the police!’ Teargas used as anti-Le Pen protest in France descends into violence
[RT] Riot police were forced to use tear gas to contain a protest staged by anti-fascist and far-left union protesters in Nantes in western La Belle France. The demonstration was initially organized against a speech by the National Front leader Marine Le Pen scheduled for Sunday.

According to RT’s Jonathan Moadab, the demonstrators, many of whom wore hoods and masks, threw smoke bombs and even a Molotov cocktail at officers, who had summoned a water cannon to the central square. At least one officer has been taken to hospital after receiving a burn to his leg, according to the regional newspaper Ouest-La Belle France, which said that two people have been incarcerated

    China-Japan-Koreas
North Korea: cooperate over killing of Kim Jong Nam, or else
Diplomatic hissy-fit and new details of the investigation.
Malaysia said Saturday that it would issue an arrest warrant for a North Korean diplomat if he refuses to cooperate with the investigation into the deadly attack on Kim Jong Un's exiled half brother.
While I understand the desire, I think international law prohibits arresting the diplomat, even for murder. The most you can do is declare him persona non grata. And then go to war. But I really, really, dislike how it is that I have to defend the Norks here.
The investigation has unleashed a serious diplomatic fight between Malaysia and North Korea, a prime suspect in the Feb. 13 killing of Kim Jong Nam at Kuala Lumpur's airport.

Malaysian police said Friday that the banned chemical weapon VX nerve agent was used to kill Kim, raising the stakes significantly in a case that has broad geopolitical implications. Experts say the nerve agent was almost certainly produced in a sophisticated state weapons laboratory and is banned under an international treaty. But North Korea never signed that treaty, and has spent decades developing a complex chemical weapons program.
If we had a CIA worth anything at all, that factory would suffer a mysterious, tragic explosion...
Kim was not an obvious political threat to his estranged half brother, Kim Jong Un. But he may have been seen as a potential rival in North Korea's dynastic dictatorship, even though he had lived in exile for years. North Korea has denied any role in the attack.
Seeing as the rumor mill said that Nam was being groomed as a "just in case" by the Chinese, one can see how the grossly obese Fat Boy would feel threatened...
Malaysia said earlier in the week that Hyon Kwang Song, a second secretary at the North Korean Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, was wanted for questioning. Abdul Samah Mat, the police chief leading the investigation, said authorities would give the diplomat "reasonable" time to come forward. If he doesn't, police will issue a notice compelling him to do so.

"And if he failed to turn up ... then we will go to the next step by getting a warrant of arrest from the court," Abdul Samah told reporters.

Malaysia hasn't directly accused the North Korean government of being behind the attack, but officials have said four North Korean men provided two women with poison to carry it out.
That and the VX itself are pretty strong clues.
On Saturday, the Indonesian suspect, Siti Aisyah, said she had been paid the equivalent of $90 for what she believed was a harmless prank. Aisyah, 25, said she had been introduced to people who looked like Japanese or Koreans who asked her to play a prank for a reality show, Indonesia's Deputy Ambassador to Malaysia, Andriano Erwin, said.

Asked whether she knew what was on her hands at the time of the attack, Erwin said: "She didn't tell us about that. She only said that it's a kind of oil, baby oil, something like that."

Aisyah has said previously that she was duped into the attack, but Malaysian police say the suspects knew what they were doing. Experts say the women must have taken precautions so the nerve agent wouldn't kill them.
There is that. VX is rather indiscriminate in who it kills...
An odorless chemical with the consistency of motor oil, VX is an extremely powerful poison, with an amount no larger than a few grains of salt enough to kill. It can be inhaled, swallowed or absorbed through the skin. Then, in anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours, it can cause a range of symptoms, from blurred vision to a headache. Enough exposure leads to convulsions, paralysis, respiratory failure and death.

The killing of Kim Jong Nam took place amid crowds of travelers at Kuala Lumpur's airport and appeared to be a well-planned hit. Kim died on the way to a hospital, within hours of the attack.

Also Saturday, police confirmed that a raid earlier in the week on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur was part of the investigation. Abdul Samah, the police official, did not specify what authorities found there, but said items were being tested for traces of any chemicals.

#4  The authorities further reported that one of the women suspected of applying the nerve agent experienced some physical symptoms of VX-poisoning.[24] The director of a non-proliferation research program of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey stated that VX fumes would have killed the suspected attackers even if they had been wearing gloves, suggesting that the VX was applied as two non-fatal components that would mix to form VX only on the victim's face.

of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group have been killed or maimed during the ongoing Shaheen-25 operations so far.

According to the local government officials, the holy warriors have been killed or maimed in the past ten days and since the operations were launched.

Provincial governor’s front man Ataullah Khogyani said the Shaheen-25 operations are successfully being conducted and several commanders of the terror group are among those killed or maimed.

Khogyani further added that the coalition forces are also supporting the Afghan forces during their fight against the loyalists of the terror group.

He said the US forces are providing close air support to the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.

The Shaheen-25 operations were launched ten days ago to suppress the growing insurgency of ISIS terrorist group in Nangarhar

    province.

The operations led by 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army (ANA) forces were launched after receiving approval from the national security council of the country.

This comes as the officials were concerned that the loyalists of the terror group are attempting to expand their foothold in Nangarhar and turn the province into their regional operational base, forcing the Afghan officials as well as the US administration to resume Arclight airstrikes against the group.

'Ukraine should be persistent to take back Crimea'
[AA.TR] Chairman of the Crimean Tatar Parliament, or Mejlis, Refat Chubarov said on Saturday that Ukraine "should be firm and persistent" to take back Crimea.

Giving a speech at a conference themed "Crimea under occupation: Consequences for Ukraine and the world", Chubarov -- as quoted by Ukraine's official news agency Ukrinform -- Crimea "should be returned to Ukraine primarily, by diplomatic, political, and economic means."

    "However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
Ukraine should incite our partners to implement such strategy to make it successful," Chubarov said.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's ambassador to Kiev, Yonet Can Tezel also participated in the conference, saying Turkey continues its stance to support Ukraine's territorial integrity.

"Turkey will continue to support Crimean Tatars, who are people of Crimea," said envoy Tezel.

Kiev hosts the two-day international forum on Feb. 25-26.

February 26-27 mark the third anniversary of the seizure of Crimea's regional parliament and Simferopol's airport by gunnies, believed to be Russian special forces, which was followed by Moscow's unilateral annexation of the Crimean peninsula.

The source said, "A blast took place inside a workshop for the manufacture of bombs belonging to the Islamic State on the outskirts of the area of Mutaibaja, east of Salahuddin, killing the so-called IS Engineer of Mutaibaja Abu Jaber, along with three of his aides."

"The killed IS member was one of the explosives experts in the hard boy group," the source added on condition of anonymity.

The area of Mutaibaja is one of the unstable areas, due to the presence of hard boy cells belonging to the Islamic State group.

’s Abu Talha al-Mar’awi Camp, southwest of Ramadi, while pointed out that this camp was used for the manufacturing of explosives and booby-trapped vehicles.

Falahi said in a press statement, "Army forces searched the area of Wadi al-Kazf (90 km southwest of Ramadi), and found Abu Talha al-Mar’awi Camp that belongs to the Islamic State group there."

"The camp includes a plant for the manufacturing of explosives, booby-trapped vehicles and rockets launchers, in addition to caches of weapons and a fuel warehouse," Falahi added.

Falahi revealed that five booby-trapped vehicles and C4 kabooms were also found, while security forces detonated and burned all materials that were found inside the camp.

Noteworthy, the Islamic State uses the desert areas in Anbar as hideouts and locations, to launch attacks on security forces and checkpoints in Ramadi and Fallujah.

Dozens of Lebanese cross Israeli border during protest
[IsraelTimes] Demonstrators pass international line, though not fence, before being dispersed by IDF troops with smoke grenades, tear gas.

Dozens of Lebanese citizens demonstrated on the Israeli border Saturday, and were dispersed by Israeli troops. Some of the demonstrators crossed the international border line with Israel, though not the security fence which lies inside Israeli territory.

The demonstration took place across from Kibbutz Manara. IDF troops fired smoke grenades and tear gas towards the protesters and the crowds dispersed.

Walla News reported that the demonstration came in response to Hezbollah claims that Israeli troops had crossed the border in the area and installed spying equipment.

Israel and Hezbollah fought a punishing war in 2006, but have maintained a tense calm watched over by UN peacekeepers on the border since then, punctuated by several deadly cross-border incidents.

Israeli officials have raised alarms in recent years that Hezbollah may be bolstering its positions in southern Leb and in the Syrian Golan Heights, and a court recently ordered the ammonia tank in the city of Haifa to be shut amid fears a missile strike on the facility could cause mass casualties.

    Lebanese President Michel Aoun
    ...a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
, who draws support from Hezbollah, recently called for the terror group to remain armed to "resist Israel," despite a UN resolution forbidding militias in Leb.

On Sunday, an Arabic newspaper reported that Nasrallah’s threats last week came after Israel passed a message to Hezbollah warning it of a forceful response to any attack from Leb or Syria, where Hezbollah has been helping prop up Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
    Supressor of the Damascenes...
’s regime by fighting against rebel groups seeking to oust him.

The message was passed along to the Leb terror group via an unnamed Arab emissary, according to a report in the Arabic-language London-based al-Hayat newspaper. It was not clear exactly when Israel sent the message or what prompted it.
Ynet has videos filmed from the Lebanese side of the border.

Activists remember Boko Haram killing of Nigerian boys
[AA.TR] Nigeria’s #BringBackOurGirls movement on Saturday commemorated the third anniversary of the Boko Haram massacre of dozens of schoolboys at a government college in northeastern Buni Yadi town of Yobe.

Activists and representatives of the parents of the boys - estimated at around 59 or 29 - gathered in the capital city Abuja to hold a memorial for the students who were mowed down by Boko Haram militants at their school on February 25, 2014. The school authorities insist 29 had been killed, although some local accounts claim they were 59.

“The only ‘crime’ of our Buni Yadi schoolboys was that they were bold and ambitious enough to seek a better and more assured future through education,” the #BringBackOurGirls movement said in a statement released at the memorial.

#BringBackOurGirls movement is primarily concerned with pushing Nigerian authorities to do more to find some 276 girls abducted on the night of April 14, 2014 by militants. But the group also speaks on issues affecting all victims of Boko Haram insurgency.
