Watch the water. Q
[8ch.net] In 2014, the Environmental Protection Agency was worried enough about fentanyl and carfentanil (A unit of carfentanil is 100 times as potent as the same amount of fentanyl, 5,000 times as potent as a unit of heroin and 10,000 times as potent as a unit of morphine) being used by terrorists that it published instructions for taking samples of the substances,
including from drinking water,
following "homeland security events."

Deadly drug fentanyl has been tested as chemical weapon by military for decades

Boston authorities said they seized more than 33 pounds of fentanyl--enough to kill millions of people--in connection with one of Massachusetts' biggest drug busts ever.

In announcing the results of a six-month wiretap probe called "Operation High Hopes," prosecutors said the synthetic opioid was being sold on the street by a drug gang with links to Mexico's notorious Sinaloa Cartel, the drug organization once led by Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.

"I want to be clear about the size and scope here," District Attorney Daniel Conley said at a news conference Thursday. "Massachusetts' fentanyl trafficking statute covers quantities greater than 10 grams. That threshold represents less than 1/1000 of the quantity we've taken off the street."

33 pounds of fentanyl -- enough to wipe out Massachusetts -- seized in Boston

(CNN) -- Two men have been sentenced to prison for possessing nearly 100 pounds of the drug fentanyl -- enough to kill the entire population of New Jersey and New York City, officials said.

Fentanyl is a powerful opioid that is 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine and 30 to 50 times more potent than heroin, and a dose as small as a quarter of a milligram can be fatal.

New Jersey authorities said that the 45 kilos of fentanyl, seized in June 2017, contained more than 18 million lethal doses. It was the largest seizure ever in the state.

"The 100 pounds of fentanyl trafficked into our state by these drug dealers could have generated enough lethal doses to kill the entire populations of New Jersey and New York City combined," New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said in a statement.

2 men caught with enough Fentanyl to poison all of NYC, New Jersey
So my question is, why is more fentanyl then could possibly be sold on the street being brought into the USA? To poison the water supply?

#1  The forces of darkness from Islam have some working agreements with various drug cartels for development of revenue streams for festivities all over the world. It does make one pause to realize the vast logistics capabilities of the cartels to move large quantities of about anything world wide.

A terror group could use the cartels to move stuff for them to target areas...then the islamists can do their holy warrior thing and kill thousands...if not millions.

I am always afraid of how easily it is for the cartels to get things into the US. I worry that the vector for a nuclear device would be through a cartel operation and not by sea or by air. Securing the borders is essential.

All of this is a catastrophe waiting to happen. The groups opposing border security are playing with the lives of millions. I expect, every day, to turn on the news to see that a major city in the US has either completely disappeared or been rendered uninhabitable with millions of casualties.

#2  Anybody against securing the border and proper screening of imports ought to be forced to be continuous water tasters right where it comes out of the purification plants.

This stuff can even be pushed back into the water supply at any house, and anyone downstream is toast.

And dealers ought to get the death penalty.

Also so much of the water was used in residential and industrial processes other than drinking that additive dilution would have reduced any perceived effect.

Saudi Arabia, Malaysia to establish ‘King Salman Center for Global Peace' (2017)
[Arab News] RIYADH: Wide-ranging talks in Kuala Lumpur between Saudi Arabia's King Salman and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak have stressed the need to find solutions to the crises in Syria and Yemen, as well as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The two countries also announced the establishment of an international center for peace and harmony that will carry the name "King Salman Center for Global Peace."

In a joint statement released on Wednesday, the two countries reiterated the urgent need to find solutions to the conflicts in the Middle East, and expressed concern over "the growing Iranian interference in the internal affairs of the Arab countries."

The joint statement covers political, commercial and cultural issues that were discussed during King Salman's four-day visit to Malaysia.

Regarding the proposed King Salman Center for Global Peace in Malaysia, the statement named the stakeholders in the project, which are: The Saudi Ministry of Defense, the Center for Security and Defense at the Malaysian Ministry of Defense, the Malaysian University of Islamic Sciences and the Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL).

"These bodies shall coordinate to complete the necessary arrangements to implement the launch of the center within 90 days from the date of its announcement," said the statement.

The statement also said that Saudi Arabia and Malaysia have identical views on key issues in the Middle East region.

"Within the constructive spirit that prevailed at the meetings between the two sides, the two leaders reviewed political issues in the Middle East, particularly the Palestinian cause, and stressed the importance and need to achieve a lasting, comprehensive and just solution, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant UN resolutions," the statement said.

The two sides also reaffirmed the need to "find a solution to the Syrian crisis on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution 2254 and the importance of providing humanitarian assistance and relief to Syrian refugees in Syria and abroad."

The two sides also stressed the importance of maintaining the unity of Yemen, and of achieving its security and stability, as well as the importance of coming up with a political solution to the Yemeni crisis, based on the Gulf initiative, outputs of the Yemeni national dialogue and UN Security Council Resolution 2216.

The statement said that the Kingdom and Malaysia "lend all support to the legitimate authority in Yemen, and to the efforts exerted in this regard, as well as facilitating access of aid to all regions of Yemen."

The two countries expressed deep concern about Iranian interference in the internal affairs of countries in the region, emphasizing "the need for Iran to commit to the principle of good neighborliness and respect for the sovereignty of states."

In the field of defense cooperation, the statement said: "The two sides agreed to strengthen military cooperation, develop training and joint exercises and exchange military experience."

The Kingdom and Malaysia have been on the same page over the need to address common security issues, including those posed by Daesh and other terrorist groups.

Malaysia and Saudi Arabia share a strong commitment to countering extremist ideologies and misconceptions about Islam, which are contrary to the moderate and peaceful nature of this world religion.

#4  I think i'd prefer using b-bs or something small and kinetic that would look like debris afterwards. Fired from the far side of the Earth so as to intersect the targets orbit and you have total deniability. With a satelite in a fixed orbit you could even do the math and fire the bb's so that they intersect x orbits later when your spaceplane or whatever has landed and the pilot is enjoying a refreshing beer in town.

With a laser you have to get line of sight.

Russian TV airs ARMA-3 video game as Syria war footage
A tribute to Russia's armed forces on the country's flagship news programme mistakenly used footage from a computer game to illustrate military action in Syria.

Eagle-eyed viewers of the weekly Voskresnoye Vremya programme on state-run Channel One TV noticed that gun-sight footage of a truck being attacked was actually from the Arma-3 tactical computer game.

Sunday's report was a celebration of those who serve in Russia's armed forces, to commemorate last week's Defender of the Fatherland Day, praising "those who value duty and honour above their own lives".

Among those it honoured was Roman Filippov, the pilot of a Su-25 ground attack aircraft who was killed in action in Syria at the beginning of February.

It was during this fast-moving sequence showing Su-25 "Frogfoot" jets in action, that the game footage appeared and was quickly spotted by users of the social network Pikabu.

Kremlin-Linked Audio Recordings On The Armed Clash With Americans In Syria Are Leaked
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova is the only Russian government official who has publicly confirmed that five people, "presumably" Russian citizens, were killed in an armed clash with U.S. forces near Deir el-Zour in Syria.

Opposition leaders inside Russia, as well as Russian and Western media reports, dispute Zakharova’s comments.

Polygraph.info has obtained audio recordings from a source close to the Kremlin who said the Russian casualties were personnel from a private Russian military company who attempted to capture an oil refinery in Syria.

#8  What possible national interest is furthered by having US troops in Syria?

I would much rather our troops are free to kill jihadis over there on a war footing rather hope the police, FBI, and sheriffs notice and watch each one here at home for the hundreds of hours and millions of dollars necessary to gather the evidence need to try, convict, and imprison them over here.

Half of the foreign ISIS jihadis were killed in Iraq, and no doubt at least similar numbers of locals. In Syria, with so many jihadi groups fighting each other for supremacy, the percentqge is orobably even higher. By comparison, the number of arrests and convictions in the U.S, Europe, and Britain can probably be numbered in the hundreds, whle we know that the authorities have tens of thousands of known jihadis that they are failing to keep track of, any one or several of whom might launch a mass ir individual attack at any moment.

The way to win a war is kill enough of the enemy that it makes sense to them to quit fighting. That is only going to happen in places like Syria, and only with the loose rules of engagement President Trump has given the generals since he came into office.

All that's going to happen is the Deep State will arrange some event and they'll get a direct conflict between US and Russia, and then they can finally start the big shooting war with Russia that they have such a hard-on for.

#21  They're fighting Assad's men. You know, the ones fighting the jihadis.

Assad's son sponsors jihadis and non-Islamist terror groups, and even pays them to conduct terror attacks, as long as they're not pointed at his government. He funneled jihadis into Iraq to kill US troops. He was a major sponsor of Hamas, until they started backing the rebels against him. Bottom line is that Assad's getting flack from the West today has a lot to do with Syria's sponsorship of terror groups until they fell out with the regime.

Why did the UK want Gaddafi out? Lockerbie and Gaddafi's gift of loads of AK's to the IRA. Did you know that over thousand Brits died because of IRA terror attacks - more than the number of IRA terrorists killed? There is no statute of limitations on this stuff, and this is the kind of lesson that future sponsors need to learn.

All the other players are doing this on a shoestring. Only Uncle has the resources to get stuff done quickly. That kind of redundancy is what you get with a $700b defense budget. Most of Syria is desert, and deserted, so it's not like people can just loiter in the middle of nowhere, and not get noticed. And then there's sigint, Kurdish scouts and, presumably, spies working in the Syrian government.

I have a feeling our people on the ground aren't exactly sitting still. Since the original function of what are now Special Forces was intel gathering on enemy dispositions, I expect they've been running LRRP's against anyone near where they're laagered.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
‘National disgrace': Community fights back as California overrun by homelessness, human waste, needles
[FoxNews] The specter of homeless encampments steadily expanding across the downtown streets of San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco – bringing with them a public health crisis – has one southern California community taking tough action to dismantle a two-mile-long camp just a short drive from Disneyland.

In a departure from the approach taken by other local governments in the state, officials in Orange County, Calif., have started to clear out the camp – by moving occupants and hauling away literally tons of trash and hazardous waste.

“It’s becoming part of the permanent landscape in those communities and there is no way we are going to allow Orange County land that is supposed to be used by residents to be occupied by the homeless,” said Todd Spitzer, who sits on the Orange County Board of Supervisors.

Trash trucks and contractors in hazmat gear have descended on the camp and so far removed 250 tons of trash, 1,100 pounds of human waste and 5,000 hypodermic needles.

But the effort hasn’t been without controversy as homeless advocates, the American Civil Liberties Union and a federal judge have all weighed in on the fate of some-700 people evicted from their home along the Santa Ana River -- next to Angel Stadium of Anaheim and a few miles from Disneyland, outside Los Angeles.

Spitzer, whose district includes the encampment, has battled the advocates since last fall when the decision was first made to close the camp. The ACLU and others filed a federal civil rights lawsuit to stop this and several stays have ensued until last week, when the final go-ahead was granted.

For those being evicted, a mediation with U.S. District Court Judge David Carter offered the choice of a bed in a shelter or a month-long motel voucher; medical aid; drug treatment; job training; storage for their belongings and housing for pets at the county animal shelter.

So far, 544 people have been moved to shelters and motel rooms and approximately 100 remain at the riverbed. Crews counted 207 tents, but it is unclear if they are occupied.

But one option is not negotiable – the homeless cannot move back to the Santa Ana River channel, which has paved shoulders where residents used to walk and bike. The river, which runs from the mountains to the sea, is home to much of Orange County’s groundwater and empties between pricey Newport and Huntington beaches. The beach has been closed often over the years due to high bacteria levels.

Approximately a half-million people in the United States are homeless, with California accounting for 25 percent -- the largest number of any state, according to a survey by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Orange County has 4,792 homeless.

Spitzer blames the problem on two issues: legislation signed by Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown over the past several years that has eroded the penalties for drug use, possession and petty crimes to where police often don’t bother making arrests; and the change in a law so that treatment is no longer forced for drug abuse or mental health issues.

Saudi King Salman also replaced the heads of the ground forces and air defenses.

The news was published by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), but no reason for the sackings was given.

They come as the war in Yemen, where a Saudi-led coalition is fighting rebels, is nearing the end of its third year.

Morocco king undergoes heart operation
[AFRICANEWS] Morocco’s King Mohammed VI "successfully" underwent a heart operation in a Gay Paree clinic on Monday for an irregular heart beat, his medical team announced.

The doctors, in a statement, said the 54-year-old monarch had felt the symptoms on January 20.

"Radiofrequency ablation of the arrhythmia," or irregular rhythm, had successfully normalised his heart beat.

King Mohammed, who would resume his normal activities after a period of rest prescribed by his doctors, has ruled Morocco since the death of his father Hassan in July 1999.

He underwent an eye operation in the French capital last September.

Warfarin is cheap as you've poined out but the drawback is weekly tests to make sure you're not at risk of bleeding out...Warfarin use has to be tightly controlled.

One good point is that it is completely reversible ... not so with some other anti-coagulants. Their benefit is that one does not require weekly blood tests and there is no restriction on diet to reduce Vit. K consumption.

Iran blames Yemen war on British, US arms exports
[DAWN] Iran on Monday rejected Western claims that it was arming Houthis in Yemen, saying the conflict was instead the result of British and the US arms supplies to Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
"The Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran wants an end to the aggression in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
by Saudi Arabia," said foreign ministry front man Bahram Ghasemi in comments carried by Iran's al-Alam news site.

"What is happening in Yemen is the result of the export of British and American weapons to Saudi Arabia and such behaviour is unacceptable," he added.

A Saudi-led coalition has been bombing Yemen almost daily since 2015 as it attempts to dislodge Houthis who seized control of the capital, in a conflict that has triggered the world's worst humanitarian crisis according to the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
A UN report last month said Tehran had breached an arms embargo by failing to stop weapons reaching the Huthis. It said a missile fired into Saudi Arabia last year by the Huthis was made in Iran, though it was unable to definitively identify the supplier.

A UN resolution drafted by Britannia called for "additional measures" against Iran over the report. "This resolution, if adopted, would provide support to the aggressor," said Ghasemi, referring to Saudi Arabia. "Such resolutions do not help the situation in Yemen and are an effort by the British government to use international mechanisms to create a supportive climate for the aggressor."

Russia, which is allied with Iran in the Syria war, maintains that the UN report's findings are not conclusive enough to justify action against Iran.

It presented a rival resolution on Saturday, extending sanctions on Yemen but without any reference to possible action targeting Tehran.

Russia vetoes UN draft resolution pressuring Iran over Yemen
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Russia vetoed Monday a UN draft resolution presented by Britannia that would have pressured Iran over its failure to block supplies of missiles to Yemen’s Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebels.

The text, strongly supported by the United States, won 11 favorable votes at the 15-member Security Council but was blocked by Russia’s veto. China and Kazakhstan abstained, while Bolivia also voted against the measure.

Nine votes and no vetoes from the five permanent council members ‐ Britannia, La Belle France, China, Russia and the United States ‐ are required to adopt resolutions at the Security Council.

After the veto, the council unanimously adopted a Russian-drafted measure that extended for one year the sanctions regime against Yemen, but that text made no mention of Iran.

Britannia had sought to include in its measure an expression of "particular concern" from the council over a UN report that found Iran had violated the 2015 arms embargo on Yemen.

The report by a UN panel of experts in January concluded that Iran was in violation after determining that missiles fired by the Houthis at Soddy Arabia

Palestinian faction Fatah slams Qatari envoy’s ‘divisive remarks’ on Gaza
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Fatah on Sunday condemned Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
i envoy Mohammed al-Emadi, head of the Qatari committee for the reconstruction of Gazoo, for holding the Paleostinian Authority partly responsible for the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gazoo and said these statements aim to strengthen the Paleostinian divide.

"The political statements which the Qatari envoy made against President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
attempt to exploit the tragic situation in Gazoo as he denies the support we provide to our people there and what we share with them," Fatah said in a statement, adding that providing this aid was its duty.

Emadi, who was kicked out last week from a hospital in Gazoo by the staff and public, recently said that if President Mahmoud Abbas gives Gazoo, he’d gain a lot of popularity, adding that Abbas should try to gain people instead of being hostile to them. He added that "the Paleostinian Authority, Egypt and Israel are to blame for the humanitarian situation in Gazoo."

Fatah also said that Emadi’s statements voice an "incomprehensible and offensive" stance towards the Paleostinian Authority.

It called on him to retract these comments which harmonize "with campaigns that aim to strengthen divide and sow divisions among the Paleostinians," adding that Abbas "always seeks to provide for the people in Gazoo like he does for other Paleostinian areas, without any discrimination."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
3 ISIS-supporting Israeli Arabs indicted for Temple Mount plot
[Ynet] Umm al-Fahm residents, including a minor, tossed in the calaboose
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
on suspicion of planning shooting attack on holy site; forces of Evil also considered attacking Christians on Christmas.

Three Israeli Arabs were indicted Tuesday for planning to carry out a shooting attack on the Temple Mount after an investigation revealed that two of them supported the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, and that the attack was intended to be carried out as part of their support of the terror group.

The defendants‐Mohammad Masoud Jabarin, 20, Ammad Lutfi Jabarin, 20, and an additional 17-year-old minor were arrested in January and February and are Umm al-Fahm
...home of the outlawed northern branch of the Islamic Movement, the Israeli branch of the Muslim Brotherhood...
residents.

According to the Shin Bet investigation, the three planned to carry out a shooting attack at the compound similar to that which had been perpetrated on July 14 last year which claimed the lives of two Israeli Border Police officers.

The attack was prevented thanks to precise intelligence that allowed the three to be arrested before they could obtain weapons and carry out their plan.

The investigation also showed the three had entertained the idea of carrying out attacks in synagogues and churches or against security forces. They also considered carrying out a vehicular attack and marked Christmas as the potential date for their bloodletting.

The Shin Bet said in a statement that it considered "Israelis supporting the Islamic State terror group a serious threat, and even more so those in contact with the group's activists and those who act under the group's banner in Israel.

"The Shin Bet will continue monitoring the suspects and take whichever law enforcement measures are required to prevent the dissemination of the Islamic State's teachings in Israel, as well as to foil any action against the country's security."

Five Congolese refugees killed in Rwanda as police end food riot
[AFRICANEWS] At least five Congolese refugees were killed and 20 injured at a camp in Rwanda when a protest over a cut in food rations turned violent, Rwandan police said on Friday. Seven policemen were also injured.
Yep. That'll learn 'em!
Around 3,000 refugees had camped outside United Nations offices at the camp since Tuesday. On Thursday, police tried to disperse them using teargas, police spokesman Theos Badege told state radio.

“We used force … yesterday afternoon after warning that security forces would be used,” he said.

“They started pelting stones, pieces of metal and in that 20 refugees were injured and seven police officers. Five of the refugees died.”

Fifteen refugees were arrested, the police said on their Twitter account. They said there were about 500 protesters, while UNHCR put the figure at about 700.

The refugees from neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo had left their camp in Kiziba and walked 15 km (10 miles) to Karongi, in western Rwanda, to protest against a 25 percent cut implemented last month in rations provided by the U.N. refugee agency (UNHCR). The camp houses 17,000 Congolese.

German prosecutors detain Syrian accused of terror links
[Ynet] German prosecutors say they have detained a 28-year-old Syrian man on allegations he fought with an myrmidon organization in Syria.

Frankfurt prosecutors said in a statement Monday that the suspect, whose name was not released, was detained last week upon his arrival at Frankfurt airport.

Prosecutor Alexander Badle says the suspect is accused of membership in the ultraconservative Ahrar al-Sham
...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014...
group since 2013 or 2014, and that he is also accused of having participated in battles in the Syrian civil war.

He first entered Germany in 2015 as an asylum- seeker, but left the country again last summer. When he tried to re-enter Germany last week, he was detained.

Prosecutors said they could not reveal any further details because of the ongoing investigation.

Egyptian cabinet begins legalisation procedures for 53 unlicensed churches
Good. It’s long overdue.
[AlAhram] The Egyptian cabinet on Monday approved the start of a four-month legalization process for the status of 53 unlicensed churches and affiliated buildings across the country.

"The cabinet decisions comes in light of the rights granted by the 2014 constitution to the followers of the Abrahamic religions to practice their religious rites at places of worship," a statement by the cabinet said.

Article 64 of the Egyptian constitution stipulates that the right to freedom of religious practice and to establish places of worship for the followers of the Abrahamic faiths: Islam, Christianity and Judaism.

In 2016, the government passed a law that speeds up the licensing process for building Christian houses of worship.

Prior to the 2016 law, the country's Christians, who make up an estimated 10 percent of the country's 100 million population, had long struggled to obtain building permits for churches, with the process often taking years.

In early January 2018, Egypt's Ministry of Housing issued an order to allow Christians to practice their religious rites at unlicensed churches pending the legalization of their status.

The ministry’s directives came after a mob of Moslems stormed a building in Giza’s Atfih saying Christians were conducting prayers at an unlicensed site.

A number of Christian worshippers were maimed during the attack and furniture destroyed.

Prime Minsiter Sherif Ismail had formed in January, 2017 a special committee to review pending church approval requests in order to address the issue.

Archpriest Antoun, a member of the PM's committee, said that the Coptic Orthodox Church had presented requests to formally recognise 2,600 churches and affiliated buildings in all Egyptian governorates by the end of September 2017.

Many Christian congregations have for years had to conduct prayers in unlicensed churches or in buildings that were not officially designated for religious use.

#2  Abrahamic faiths: Islam, Christianity and Judaism.

Mohammed was not a descendent of Abraham via Ishmael. He was a Gentile. Therefore, Islam established by Mohammed is not an Abrahamic faith.

The Hadith claims Ishmael was the father of the Arabs. Untrue. Historical evidence indicates the Arabs existed before Ishmael was even born.

Islam claims Ishmael's wife was from Mecca. Not true. Ishmael's wife was from Egypt. Ishmael's descendants settled South of Judah near Egypt, no where near Mecca.

Every Abrahamic line of prophets were given their prophecies directly from God over 1500 years. However, Mohammed claimed his prophecy did not come from God, but from an angel, Gabriel.

The estimated time between Abraham and Mohammed described in the Koran is unrealistic in years.

ALL of the Biblical prophets were Jewish. The lies in the Koran and Hadith that try to tie Mohammed to Abraham is an attempt to give Mohammed and Islam legitimacy.

India-Pakistan
Petitioners urge ECP to de-notify PML-N as political party
[DAWN] A petition has been moved before the Election Commission of Pakistain (ECP) asking it to de-notify Pakistain Moslem League-Nawaz as a political party, arguing that the party was named after a person who has been disqualified by the apex court from holding any public office, DawnNews reported on Monday.

According to the Supreme Court's judgment in the controversial Election Act 2017 case, an individual disqualified under Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution cannot serve as head of a political party.

A day after the apex court ordered the ECP to remove Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf, then by the courts...
as president of the PML-N, Pakistain Awami Tehrik (PAT) leader Khurrum Nawaz Gandapur, Mohammad Niaz and Ibrar Hussain Raza submitted a joint application before the ECP, asking the commission to reopen an earlier petition, filed by Niaz and Raza in connection with the de-notification of Nawaz Sharif.

According to the application, a copy of which is available with DawnNews, the two petitions had asked the ECP to de-notify the PML-N in accordance with the Supreme Court verdict, declaring Sharif ineligible for holding even a party office. Subsequently, the ECP had suspended the petition while linking it to a then-pending case in the SC on the same subject.

The petitioners argued that after the apex court barred Sharif from holding a party office, the party registered in his name has also become illegal. They asked the ECP to fix the pending petition for hearing and de-notify the PML-N.

Iran, Turkey say Syria attacks to continue despite UN resolution
[DAWN] Iran said pro-Damascus forces would press ahead with attacks on an turban enclave near the Syrian capital, as ground fighting raged on there in defiance of a UN resolution demanding a 30-day truce across the country.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
, too, said its military operations in another theatre of war in the north of Syria would not be affected by the unanimous Security Council vote demanding the truce to allow for aid access and medical evacuations.

Anti-government rebels said they clashed with pro-government forces near Damascus on Sunday, as rescuers and residents said warplanes struck some towns in the eastern Ghouta pocket.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said air strikes and artillery killed nine people and injured 31 in the eastern suburbs. The UK-based monitoring group said Sunday’s bombing was less intense than attacks over the past week.

There was no immediate comment from the Syrian military.

The latest escalation by Damascus and its allies has killed more than 500 people in the enclave over the last week, the Observatory says. The dead included more than 120 children.

North Korea says it is ready for talks with US
[DAWN] A North Korean envoy making a rare visit to South Korea said on Sunday that his country was willing to open talks with the United States, a rare step towards diplomacy between enemies after a year of North Korean missile and nuclear tests and direct threats of war from both Pyongyang and Washington.

Kim Yong Chol, who Seoul believes criminal masterminded two attacks in 2010 that killed 50 South Koreans, was in South Korea for the end of the Olympics. He said North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
wanted to improve ties with Washington and had "ample intentions of holding talks" with its rival, according to the South’s presidential office.

He made the remarks during a meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, who is eager to engage the North after one of the most hostile periods in recent years on the Korean Peninsula.

Moon, who was invited a day after the opening ceremonies to Pyongyang for a summit with Kim Jong-un, also said that Washington and Pyongyang should quickly meet to "fundamentally solve" the standoff on the Korean Peninsula.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
IDF arrests nine in Nebi Saleh raid, including cousin of soldier-slapper Tamimi
[IsraelTimes] Army says predawn detentions came in response to increase in violent riots, rock-throwing attacks coming from the West Bank village.

The Israeli military conducted a predawn raid in the restive Paleostinian village of Nebi Saleh on Monday, arresting nine residents, the army said.

According to the left-wing B’Tselem human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
group, among the detainees was 15-year-old Muhammad Tamimi, who was apparently shot in the face with a rubber bullet by an IDF soldier late last year and whose cousin Ahed Tamimi
...who along with siblings and young cousins have made a hobby of being videotaped screaming at Israeli soldiers, no doubt urged on by her Papa, Bassem Tamimi, who is a well-known Fatah activist...
is currently on trial for slapping an IDF soldier in December.

According to the army, in a total of nine suspects were tossed in the calaboose
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
from the village for participating in violent demonstrations or taking part in "popular terrorism," a catch-all term used by Israel to signify throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli troops or roadways.

The army said the raid was conducted "in light of the increase in the number of riots and popular terrorist acts coming from the village of Nebi Saleh."

Elsewhere in the West Bank, IDF forces arrested seven other Paleostinian suspects believed to have taken part in violent protests or rock throwing attacks and seized thousands of shekels in the city of Bethlehem earmarked to fund terror activities, the army said.

The military would not confirm that Muhammad Tamimi was among those arrested.

Palestinians accidentally burn down own factory in protest against IDF soldiers
A unique opportunity to learn from experience...
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian protesters in the West Bank inadvertently burned down a local factory this week while confronting IDF soldiers near the West Bank city of Nablus.

According to Hadashot news, protesters in the Nablus-area village of Beita on Sunday were clashing with IDF soldiers, and rolled burning tires in their direction.

But one flaming tire had other plans and changed direction, rolling directly into a nearby plastics factory.

The building went up in flames and the factory was completely destroyed.
Clearly Allah did not approve, and made his displeasure clear.
The report said Israeli firefighters arrived at the scene to help Paleostinian Authority responders put out the fire.

The Nablus area has seen low-level festivities between Israeli security forces and Paleostinian protesters after an illegally built Jewish settlement outpost in the area sparked tensions.

The makeshift homes in the outpost called Evyatar were dismantled by the army last week.
So there was nothing left to protest, but they chose to do so anyway.

Militants to apologize to victims of Indonesia attacks
[Ynet] The Indonesian government is bringing together dozens of convicted Islamic Death Eaters and survivors of attacks in what it hopes will be an important step in combating radicalism and fostering reconciliation.

About 120 reformed Death Eaters will apologize to dozens of victims including survivors of the 2002 Bali bombings and the 2004 bombing of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta, according to Irfan Idris, director of de-radicalization at Indonesia's counterterrorism agency.

The three days of meetings at a Jakarta hotel that began Monday aren't open to the media except for an event on the final day.

"Many myrmidon convicts have changed and are taking the right course with us by drawing on their experience to prevent others from taking up violence," Idris told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named. "These facts have inspired us to reconcile them with their victims."

Pakistan may find itself on FATF blacklist after June
[DAWN] Pakistain may find itself on the blacklist of a global financial watchdog if it does not prepare a comprehensive action plan to eradicate terrorist financing by June, official sources told Dawn.

The 37-nation Financial Action Task Force (FATF) held its plenary meeting in Gay Paree last week where it placed Pakistain on a watchlist of the countries where terrorist outfits are still allowed to raise funds.

On Friday, the group issued an updated grey list, along with a statement announcing the decisions taken at the plenary session, and Pakistain was not on the list. Officials in Islamabad interpreted this as a "breather", although it’s more of a technical detail.

The grey list identifies the "jurisdictions with strategic anti-money laundering/countering the financing of terrorism deficiencies for which they have developed an action plan with the FATF". Pakistain has not yet worked out the proposed plan with the FATF and that’s why it’s not on the list.

As country listens to Florida teens, Black Lives Matter youths feel ignored
The poor darlings.
[ChicagoTribune] The young people of Black Lives Matter are hurt. And they have every right to be.

When they were protesting in the streets of cities across America, much of the country didn't bother to listen to their message. They were not embraced by the mainstream for their bravery, their determination or resolve to bring attention to reckless police killings that disproportionately impact young African-Americans.

Some labeled them troublemakers, even terrorists. And in the aftermath of the student uprising over the mass shooting in Parkland, Fla., they are taking to social media to vent their disappointment.

Home Front: WoT
If You Have A Mental Illness, This Antifa Student Group Wants You
[DailyCaller] A Texas Antifa student group hosted a six month health program to "politicize" students with "mental illnesses," according to a Thursday report.

The Revolutionary Student Front at the University of Texas at Austin hosted a "Revolutionary Mental Health Program" "to address the mental health needs of students in a way that would primarily serve to politicize and strengthen them, to become more committed to revolution and more capable of carrying it out," reported Far Left Watch.

The UT Austin Antifa student group based its 2017 program on "Turn Illness Into A Weapon," a book charting the neo-Marxist Socialist Patients Collective group’s actions in Germany, which placed the blame of mental illness on capitalist oppression.

The Revolutionary Student Front sought to create a health care system that not only treated students for their mental illnesses, but also mobilized them to fight capitalism.

"The primary method of combating the symptoms of mental illness that we face under capitalism must be organizing those suffering to come into violent class conflict with the system that creates their illness," said the group in its 13,000-word manifesto.

The group also admits at one point that members of its own leadership suffer from "mental illnesses."

Revolutionary Student Front hosts weekly "self-defense" classes and believes "bricks belong best thrown at pig heads."

FIA arrests Axact CEO in money laundering case
[DAWN] The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday jugged
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
Axact Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shoaib Sheikh after the Sindh High Court (SHC) accepted the agency's appeal against his earlier acquittal in a money laundering case.

Setting aside an earlier decision by a district and sessions court, the SHC ordered that the case be heard again by a trial court. The district and sessions court had acquitted Sheikh in the case in 2016.

Following the acceptance of its appeal, FIA officials had set up pickets at the court's exits to arrest Sheikh.

The Axact chief, along with his lawyers, had holed up inside the court's premises for several hours to avoid arrest. His counsels had meanwhile insisted that the court had not ordered for Sheikh's arrest and that he should be given time to approach a court for bail.

During this period, Sheikh had also applied for interim bail, arguing that the FIA should be barred from arresting him. The Axact chief had assured the court that he was ready to face trial in the lower courts, but the court turned down the plea.

Arabia
Yemeni crisis gradually moving towards a definitive resolution
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] I find the English proverb "slow and steady" the best way to describe the decisive course the war in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
is taking, with the crisis coming to an end along with the restoration of hope.

A continuous collapse of the Iran-backed Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
militia is obvious from the outcome of battles, with the advance of the national armies supported by the coalition forces that uphold legitimacy.

One of the most recent important trends is the growing dissent within Houthi ranks over the decision to assassinate former President former President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh
... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it...
and the liquidation of important people in the General People's Congress after the death of Saleh.

The selection of many leaders and members in the congress of politicians and snuffies that seek to delegitimize Houthi militia has led to the collapse of Houthis on almost all fronts. This points to the direction of the war and its final outcome against the Houthis.

Petty parochialism
The major problem facing Yemen is that many leaders and movements in the country want to settle their scores and secure their petty interests before the war lays down its burden. Each party has set its agenda in accordance with its current needs and priorities on the basis of their own parochial interests, not according to the interests of Yemen. Only Yemenis are capable of resolving their issues.

To achieve very narrow objectives, Houthis took control of Yemen. Their petty calculations could not resolve the issues, but it seems cleansing Yemen of this militia might take time. Does this mean that the Yemen issue is the result of an internal problem?

Of course not! Yemeni crisis has led to several wars between various militia and the Yemeni state, but over the years it has evolved regionally with Iran making long term investment in the Houthi militia. This happened in the wake of the B.O. regime’s retreat and withdrawal from action, causing the eventual coup in Yemen that supported the Iranian agenda with Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. Six people killed in DR Congo as armed men attack village in South Kivu
[AFRICANEWS] At least six people were killed in an overnight attack on Kagabi in the Kabare territory of South Kivu province, with a possibility of the corpse count reaching 10.

According to the information received by Africanews correspondent in the region, the attack started at about 8pm in this village not far from the town of Bukavu.

Sources told Africanews that the attack started at a small market located near a Catholic church in the area.

The attackers reportedly raided a coffee shop and demanded money from the patrons there. Those who resisted were slaughtered including a police officer who tried to intervene.

The assailants then went to the church where they killed a parish priest.

The attack comes at a time when the city of Bukavu is experiencing a precarious calm after weeks of attacks by gunnies who killed and maimed many.

Arabia
Yemen must save itself from ruinous gun culture
Too funny, given the source.

top the list of gun ownership worldwide. There are about 113 guns for every 100 Americans, according to a Congressional Research Service report. There are no reliable comparable statistics for Yemen, but estimates vary at between 55 and 300 guns for every 100 people. In both nations, there is a deeply ingrained culture of pride in owning weapons and great reluctance to regulate that ownership, let alone ban it altogether.

In many parts of the US, purchasing a pistol or an assault rifle is not much more complicated than buying a fridge or a TV set. This laissez-faire gun culture was made plain in the recent massacre of 14 teenagers and three staff members at a high school in Parkland, Florida. The assailant, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, appeared to have purchased his weapons legally, despite the fact questions had been raised about his mental stability.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
More than 1,000 Palestinians in Gaza died from Israeli blockade
No blame attaches to the Egyptian side of the blockade, or to Hamas? How odd.
[Al Jazeera] The Gazoo Strip's collective of charitable organizations said more than 1,000 Paleostinians have died as a result of the ongoing Israeli blockade on the coastal enclave.

The coordinator of the organizations, Ahmad al-Kurd, also said on Sunday that five premature babies born in the past few days died because of a lack of available medical treatment.

"Out of the 1,000 or so victims of the blockade, 450 died as a result of the collapse of the health situation in Gazoo, such as the lack of medical supplies and the crisis of medical referrals for outside treatment."

Gazooks continue to face a desperate situation because of the blockade with water and electricity shortages, as well as a lack of medicines and doctors unable to perform surgeries.

Kurd said the use of alternative electricity by residents of the Gazoo Strip since 2006 has caused the deaths of 100 people.

"The use of candles, firewood or generators has resulted in house fires that claimed the lives of children and adults alike," he said.

Furthermore, the number of workers who were killed in the fields of agriculture, fishing and commercial tunnels has reached 350.

Texas police SHOOT a hero who had just disarmed gunman holding 100 people hostage in a church
Stuff happens. The key thing is that in the end the bad guy was stopped and the good guy will be ok.
[DailyMail] Texas police shot a man after he disarmed a potential church shooter who had been holding more than 100 people hostage in at a congregation in Amarillo.Joshua Len Jones, 35, barged into a church service at the Faith City Mission in Amarillo, on Valentine's Day and pulled out a gun.

Churchgoer Tony Garces managed to disarm Jones during a scuffle, but when police arrived, they shot Mr Garces instead.

The incident took place during a morning service at the Faith City Mission, a Christian organization which helps people in need in the community.

Jones, who had received help from the Faith City Mission in the past, held about 100 congregants and church staff hostage.

While waiting for police, church staff and attendees managed to overpower Jones, and during the fight, Mr Garces got hold of the gum

'I said 'hey, hey I got the gun,' Mr Garces told ABC7 Amarillo.

He described how officers ordered him to throw the gun to the floor, but that he hesitated as he was worried that the loaded gun would go off if he did so.

'I didn't want anyone else getting hurt. Then pop, pop they shot me.

'I went down, then a puddle of blood. I thought I was a goner.'

Mr Garces, who credits the Faith City Mission with helping him turn his life around after a four-year-stint in prison, was hit in the neck, but was rushed to hospital and survived.

He is now calling for police to receive more and improved training in use of deadly violence, telling ABC7 that the officer who shot him 'didn't know what he was doing'.

Jones was placed in durance vile

at the scene, and has been charged with six first-degree felony aggravated kidnapping.

Same with these SWAT teams which by and large seem completely useless as they seem to dither and procrastinate in the face of danger and seem more interested in protecting themselves against casualties than confronting an armed threat.

More often than not the end of a violent armed threat has been a policeman going rogue and confronting the treat with armed force rather than some heavily equipped swat team with a lot of fancy toys.

Columbine was a good example of that and I still wonder where the SWAT teams were when Parkland went down.

deployed police special forces to the northwestern Syrian region of Afrin on Monday for a "new battle" in its five-week campaign against the Kurdish YPG militia, despite a UN call at the weekend for a ceasefire across Syria.

Ottoman Turkish forces and their Syrian rebel allies, supported by Ottoman Turkish air strikes, have pushed the Kurdish fighters back from most of Turkey's border with Afrin since they launched their assault on Jan. 20.

"The entrance of the special forces is in preparation for the new battle that is approaching," Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag told NTV broadcaster.

Dogan news agency reported that gendarmerie and police special forces teams entered Afrin from two places to the northwest of the region, saying they would take part in urban fighting and holding villages which Ottoman Turkish forces have seized

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Anti-govt protests now look like an opportunity for Iran’s president
[DAWN] When Iran’s worst unrest in years broke out in December, the country’s president, Hassan Rouhani, saw a rare chance to push for reform.

Rouhani had won a second term last year campaigning on a platform for change. But he faced stiff resistance from the country’s hard-line holy mans, who wield the ultimate authority. So as Iranian protesters, furious over political repression and a stagnant economy, erupted into the streets for nearly two weeks, Rouhani leveraged their anger to promote his agenda.

Since then, he has increased pressure on Iran’s armed forces, including the powerful Revolutionary Guard, to divest from the economy. And he has made moves to overhaul a chaotic banking sector, where illicit lenders wiped out the savings of small depositors, helping stir the unrest.

The president has publicly sided with the protesters and urged his rivals to heed their calls.

"People have criticism and objections on the economic issue and they have a right. But the objections aren’t only economic," Rouhani said at a televised news conference earlier this month, according to Rooters. "They also have something to say about political and social issues and foreign relations. Our ears must be completely open to listen and know what the people want."

The sentiment has registered with the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who on Sunday acknowledged the criticism and said officials were "well aware" of the issues plaguing the country.

Amir Handjani, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s South Asia Centre, said Rouhani "has gone further than any Iranian president" in advocating for political and economic reforms. "He has pushed back on the notion that all protesters are seditionists, he has given them space to air their grievances, and he has said they have a right to question their leaders," he said.

Gazans prepare for possible war with Israel with surprise drill
If fewer innocent human shields are harmed the next time Hamas gets stupid, that would be lovely.
[Ynet] Using instructions and information from the IDF's Home Front Command, the Gazoo Interior Ministry conducts drill, teaching schoolchildren how to seek shelter in case of Israeli attack; Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbung millipede, forces drill war scenarios on borders with Israel, Egypt.

The Gazook Interior Ministry conducted a surprise drill on Wednesday for Hamas and other security and rescue forces in the strip, using information from the IDF's Home Front Command on seeking shelter in time of attack.

The exercise, which lasted about 12 hours, drilled different scenarios of Israeli attack on the Gazoo Strip, which were based on incidents that took place during the 2014 Operation Protective Edge.

The information and instructions to the civilian population on how to locate the nearest safe space and how to evacuate children to shelters were appropriated from the IDF's Home Front Command's website and from messages it issues to the Israeli public.
Thank goodness they copied this good Israeli idea. If only they copied others.
And so, Gazook children learned that during an Israeli attack, they must go into a shelter. But because the strip doesn't have proper bomb shelters like in Israel, children are told to seek cover between four walls. They were also told to lie on the ground with their hands covering their heads.

Teachers at educational institutions in the strip drilled evacuating the students from the classrooms to a safe space in an orderly fashion, in line with the Israeli Home Front Command's guidelines.

The exercise also included different scenarios along Gazoo's borders with Egypt and Israel. Large numbers of Gazook police forces were deployed throughout the strip, while Hamas forces drilled scenarios of Israeli attacks, including ground invasion. Rescue forces, meanwhile, drilled the evacuation of maimed.

Citizens have called for saving this mosque and accused the Houthis of intentionally damaging the country’s historical ruins and of not respecting the mosque’s sanctity.

The Ashrafiya Mosque, which was built by Sultan Ashraf Ismail bin Abbas in 800 hijri, is one of the most famous relics in Taiz given its beautiful design.

The government finished restoration works in the mosque in July 2014, few months before the Houthis staged its coup against legitimacy.

In addition to a prayer hall, the mosque also has a school and has a burial yard where some of kings from the Rasulid dynasty that ruled Yemen

Respecting diversity is key to world peace: MWL chief
[ARABNEWS] Intolerance toward others and the wrong thinking which does not believe in diversity or freedom of choice is responsible for global conflicts, a conference of religious and cultural leaders in Vienna heard on Monday.

The event was organized by the King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue.

Speaking at the opening session of the conference, the secretary-general of the Moslem World League (MWL), Mohammed bin Abdul Karim al-Issa, stressed the importance of respecting cultural and religious diversity to ensure peace in the world. The MWL chief said: "The religious and cultural conflict is due to a wrong thinking which does not believe, to start with, in the Creator’s way of diversity or the right of choice.

"The values of justice and ethics are not subject to certain theories or contexts and they have many factors in common. In the context of our present diversity, we call for preserving the values of our common humanity, which do not reflect any specific religious, intellectual or cultural characteristic."

The MWL official said: "The origin of religions has nothing to do with unjust wars and persecutions practiced in their name which have hindered the march of knowledge and enlightenment in the East and West."

He said: "Islam (and we are speaking here on behalf of the Moslem peoples belonging to the MWL) preserved the dignity of human beings, guaranteed their freedom of choice, and guided them to morality."

He also noted: "We don’t assume that all people should follow one religion, ideology or philosophy. Islam teaches us that it is impossible, and logic confirms this.

"We call for the preservation of our common human values which do not just articulate a religious, intellectual or cultural property; rather, it expresses our humanity."

After the Iranian revolution in 1979, people wanted to copy this model in different countries, one of them is Saudi Arabia. We didn’t know how to deal with it. And the problem spread all over the world. Now is the time to get rid of it”.

Fine words all. Let’s see if they continue to walk the talk.

Syrian Observatory: US-led coalition strike kills 25
[Ynet] An air strike by the US-led coalition against Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
has killed 25 people including children in the bully boy group's last enclave on the Euphrates in Syria, a war monitor said on Monday.

The air strike took place in the settlement of Dahra Alouni close to al-Shaafa region, and more than half of those killed were women and kiddies, said the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Asked about the report, the coalition front man, Colonel Ryan Dillon said: "We take all allegations seriously and as we always do we will put it into our civilian casualty assessment and we will publish the results of those on a monthly basis."

Man flees after killing wife, sister over 'honour' in Tando Adam: police
[DAWN] A man fled from Mir Mohammad village in Tando Adam after killing his wife and sister for 'honour', police said on Monday.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Taluka Tando Adam Hasan Jahangir told news hounds that the police were conducting raids to arrest the suspect.

The bodies of both women have been sent to Taluka Hospital Tando Adam for post-mortem examination, ASP Jahangir added.

The victims, according to police, had last week run away from the village to Sukkar allegedly with two men, who belonged to Mir Mohammad village as well. They were tracked down on Sunday, after which elders of the village handed them over to their suspected murderer after he promised that he would not harm them.

Djibouti ruling party claims landslide parliamentary win
[AFRICANEWS] President Ismael Omar Guelleh’s ruling party claimed a resounding victory in Friday’s parliamentary elections in Djibouti, taking nearly 90 percent of seats after the opposition largely boycotted the poll.

Mohammed Abdallah Mahyoub, a senior member of Guelleh’s UMP party and campaign front man, said late Sunday the party had won 58 out of 65 parliamentary seats, an increase of three since the last vote in 2013.

There was no immediate figure for turnout among the tiny Horn of Africa nation’s 194,000 registered voters.

Guelleh has ruled Djibouti since 1999 and was last re-elected in 2016 with 87 percent of the vote.

The UMP’s victory has helped by the badly-divided opposition with two parties ‐ MRD and RADDE and a faction of a third party, ARD ‐ refusing to put forward any candidates, saying the elections would neither be fair nor transparent while others accused the election commission of bias.

The UMP claimed every seat outside of the capital and all but seven seats in Djibouti city with the remainder going to the UDJ party.

The law stipulates that 25 percent of seats must go to women, an increase from just 10 percent in the outgoing parliament. According to Mahyoub, this threshold was nearly met as 15 women won parliamentary seats, 14 of them from the UMP.

Philippines police in pursuit of murdered Filipina worker’s recruiters
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Philippines Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is on the hunt for the recruiting company of Joanna Demafelis, the Filipina worker whose body was found in a freezer in Kuwait early February.

The Philippines’ President Rodrigo Duterte had ordered the arrest of those who recruited Demafelis, and to place them under investigation to make sure her contract was fair according to the law.

The Filipina, who went missing two years before her body was found, was recruited by the Our Lady of Mt Carmel Global E-Human Resources Incorporated company, whose license has been revoked since the incident, according to the Rappler news site.

"The CIDG's effort is ongoing to look for the recruiters of Demafelis. CIDG already has a lead," the news site reported the Philippine National Police’s Director General Ronald dela Rosa as saying.

The police’s efforts are an addition to ongoing investigations by the country’s Department of Labor and Employment and the national Bureau of Investigation.

The woman’s body was returned to the Philippines on February 17 in the presence of hundreds of relatives and supporters.

Her employers, and the main suspects in the case, were tossed in the clink

In blow to Trump, Supreme Court won’t hear appeal of DACA ruling
The shortcut didn’t work, so the original plan continues.
[NBC] The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear the Trump administration's appeal of a federal judge's ruling that requires the government to keep the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program going.

Under a lower court order that remains in effect, the Department of Homeland Security must continue to accept renewal applications from the roughly 700,000 young people who are currently enrolled in the program, known as DACA. The administration had intended to shut the program down by March 5, but that deadline is now largely meaningless.

In a brief order, the court said simply, "It is assumed the court of appeals will act expeditiously to decide this case."

Europe
Syrian Kurd leader arrested in Prague on Turkey’s request
[DAWN] Authorities in the Czech Republic detained one of the most prominent leaders of the Syrian Kurds at the request of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire....
, officials said on Sunday, as Ankara pushes a military operation against Kurdish militia in northern Syria.

Saleh Moslem, long a figurehead of the Syrian Kurdish movement, was detained on Saturday night at an upmarket Prague hotel, Czech and Ottoman Turkish officials said.

Ottoman Turkish officials said Ankara was already working to have Moslem, the former co-chair of the main Syrian Kurdish political movement, the Democratic Union Party (PYD), extradited to face terror charges in Turkey.

The arrest comes as Turkey presses a military operation against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) militia ‐ the military wing of the PYD ‐ in the enclave of Afrin in northern Syria.

Ankara sees the YPG and PYD as the Syrian branch of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which for over three decades has waged an insurgency against the Ottoman Turkish state and is banned by Turkey, the US and the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
as a terror group.

Moslem is wanted by Turkey over a February 2016 bombing in Ankara that killed 29 people that the Ottoman Turkish authorities blamed on Kurdish Death Eaters. He has been charged in the case and faces 30 life sentences if found guilty. Moslem has rubbished the charges.

"The PYD chief has been placed in durance vile
Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up!
," President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
told cheering crowds in the southern city of Sanliurfa. "Our hope is the Czech Republic will hand him over to Turkey."

Czech police confirmed a 67-year-old foreigner was being held after being detained on Saturday based on a Ottoman Turkish Interpol notice.

"Ankara Interpol staff were informed of the arrest. The police will take the standard steps in line with the law," it said.

Funds for ‘jihad university’
[DAWN] EITHER the PTI is completely blind to the optics or its political ambitions have trumped all other considerations.

At a time when Pakistain is regarded with suspicion for allegedly not having done enough to stop terror financing, KP’s PTI-led government is set to approve a grant of Rs277m for Maulana Samiul Haq
...the Godfather of the Taliban, leader of his own faction of the JUI. Known as Mullah Sandwich for his habit of having two young boys at a time...
’s Darul Aloom Haqqania, otherwise known as the ’jihad university’.

The sobriquet is well-deserved, for the seminary ‐ located in KP ‐ has churned out thousands of holy warriors since the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

In fact, so many Afghan Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
leaders have studied here that the maulana, who also heads his own faction of the JUI, is often dubbed the ’father of the Taliban’.

These are dubious credentials, and the PTI ought not to dismiss them lightly.

Indeed, this is not the first but the second time that the madressah is to be the recipient of such largesse.

The provincial government in its 2016-2017 budget allocated it a grant of Rs300m.

The flimsy pretext offered by the PTI then was that the money would go towards implementation of reforms by the Darul Aloom Haqqania to bring it into the educational mainstream.

No doubt there is an urgent need for changes to seminary curriculums in order to curb radical ideologies.

Nevertheless, in the two years since the first grant, it is far from clear what reforms, if any, have been carried out at a madressah whose chief holy man was, not too long ago, unabashedly vocal in his support for the late Osama bin Laden
... who is now among the dear departed, though not among the dearest...
as well as the banned TTP.

There has, however, been a significant political development in the interim, with the JUI-S and PTI declaring their intention to form a ’joint strategy’ in the coming election, an alliance presumably designed to counter the JUI-F, their nemesis in KP.

In the run-up to elections, incumbent governments do take steps to shore up their chances at the hustings, but the PTI’s move is a cynical one, and deeply troubling in its disregard for the consequences.

#1  Moslem customs. Mullah Sandwich is a revered follower of the Prophet who possibly invented the sandwich. ( PBUH ).

Sura 17 ( the Cow ) scripture says "The secret is in the tongue ." or words to that effect , it suffers somewhat in the translation. Not to be confused with Sura 9 ( Yo Mama ) in which the Prophet says."The secret is in the false teeth." But that is another Moslem story.

Doctors in Syria’s Ghouta describe counting body parts in horrific interviews
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Counting body parts, searching for life under the rubble, escaping bomb sites for fear of a second attack, and having nothing to eat. This is a day in the life of doctors in Syria’s eastern Ghouta.

A series of haunting testimonies by medical staff currently in the bomb-battered rebel enclave has revealed they are failing to keep up with the intensity of regime strikes.

More than 630 people have been killed and 3,300 maimed since Feb. 18, according to the latest under-estimated figures provided to Al Arabiya English by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

There are reports of doctors and nurses collapsing as their medical response reaches its limits, with hospitals and field clinics routinely becoming targets.

Below are the testimonials of MSF-supported staff currently in Ghouta. Their names have been protected.

Male medical assistant ‐ working in a health clinic ‐ 23 February

"Our medical point was bombed. We relocated to another place. That place also got bombed. That second time, the rescuers and others around the area rushed in to excavate people from under the rubble and that’s when a second bombing happened on that same spot, just when the people were all gathered there. We had around 100 people maimed and no working facility."

Female doctor ‐ manager of a major field hospital ‐ 24 February

"If you count the hundreds of bodies, the ones alive, and the ones dead; the body parts; there is nothing we can do for them. Even if we had enough supplies, there’s nothing we can do to answer to such a huge number of people. It’s not so much medical supplies that we need from you, but your help in stopping the bombing."

"We cannot transfer any patients out of our hospital. Any person, on foot or in a car, in the streets, will surely die. We are even unable to refer patients that need intensive care to the Intensive Care Unit that is 5km away. We are obliged to keep them here, and here we do not have respiratory masks. We are resorting to the use of manual ventilators, and so each patient permanently needs somebody to operate that ventilator. With so many patients coming it’s impossible - we are losing so many patients because of the shortages we have. Patients would have a chance if we could refer them 5km to the ICU, but with the intensity of the bombing we can’t."

Arabia
Mubarak al-Thani says will return to Qatar to ‘cleanse’ it from ruling regime
Oh dear. That sounds uncomfortable.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Sheikh Mubarak bin Khalifa al-Thani, who was recently revealed as a figure opposed to the ruling al-Thani family in Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
, said that the people of the Gulf state are living in fear due to the oppression of the government.

He told Asharq al-Awsat that he seeks to return to Qatar, along with other opposition figures, in order to "cleanse the country of the ruling regime and its reckless policies."

Sheikh Mubarak currently resides in the Saudi capital Riyadh and took part in an opposition meeting in December that brought together over 20 members of the al-Thani family.

He said that several members of the family had contacted him to express their interest in joining efforts to "save Qatar from the policies of the current government."

"These figures are unhappy with the developments in the country and they fear over the safety of their sons and properties," he added.

Qatar’s deteriorating living conditions
Asked by Asharq al-Awsat to assess the situation in Qatar seven months after the diplomatic and economic boycott of Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mubarak replied: "None of the Qatari people are living comfortably."

The majority of the people are concerned about their livelihood and none of them want to stray away from their brothers in the Gulf, he stressed. They are paying the price for the government’s reckless behavior, which has isolated it from its brothers.

He spoke about the high cost of living in Qatar, saying that the Gulf crisis led to a drop in prices, which led to economic stagnation. Real estate properties are vacant and trade between Qatar and the Gulf has come to a halt.

As the complaints over the living conditions mount, the fear also rises among the people, stated Sheikh Mubarak. They are concerned with the successive international decisions against the Qatari government given its rejection of the demands of the four boycotting countries.

The countries announced their boycott against Doha in June over its support and financing of terrorism.

Sheikh Mubarak revealed that some people have been tossed in the clink
Into the paddy wagon wit' yez!
by the Qatari regime, while some members of the al-Thani family have had their properties and assets seized.

Rantburg Exclusive: SDF Battle Field Report 2/26/2018, Putin, Cyprus
Statement by SDF
Despite the issuance of the international resolution of 2401 by UN security council, which biddes all of the conflicting parts in Syria to stop the military combats, however, the Turkish state and its allied terrorist factions keep their aggression against our people in Afrin underestimating the international resolution. Our forces responded to the Turkish attacks defending themselves.

1- Raju: the national units of the Syrian army engaged with the Turkish invasion army and its terrorist factions when they tried to advance towards the town. The engagements coincided with Turkish raids on the area. As a result of the raids, 2 fighters of national units got martyred and 3 wounded.

Haj Khalil village also was targeted indicriminatly by the Turkish artillery, where 3 shells landed on civilian homes and caused casualties within the ranks of the civilians.

In the vicinity of Mosaka village yesterday , the Turkish invasion army and its terrorist factions tried to advance towards the village, accordingly, our forces engaged with the invaders and destroyed 2 military vehicles, while the other invaders fled.

In Gewandeh village, the Turkish army and the terrorist factions tried to make advances this morning. Our forces replled their attacks and the clashes are ongoing until writing this report.

2- Jinderes: the Turkish army and the terrorist factions tried to make progress towards Hejiler village, as a result, our forces engaged with the invaders and killed 8 terrorists including Turkish soldiers.

Today at 1:00 am, the Turkish warplanes bombed the Jinderes town which lasted for hours.

Last night, there were repeated attacks by the Turkish army in Bafelur village. The Turkish attacks were repelled by our forces. The engagements last for hours and as a result, the invaders suffered heavy losses.

It is worth noting that all of the Turkish attempts to advance were supported by Turkish hovercrafts and jets.

This morning, the Turkish jets carried out strikes on Yalanqoz village committing a massacre against the civilians, where the Kurdish Red Cresent was pulling out the corpses under the rubel until writing this report.

3- Shiyeh: the Turkish jets re-striked indiscriminately the safe villages in this axis. The villages of Anqleh and Sinarah were targets of the Turkish raids last night.

This morning the clashes renewed and expanded to Anqelh, Sinarah and Qara Mitlig villages, accompanied by artillery shelling which was ongoing until writing this report.

All of the combats during the past 24 hours led to the death of 5 Turkish soldiers and at least 50 members of terrorist factions and 60 terrorists wounded.
Moreover, our forces confirmed that they destroyed 3 Turkish tanks and targeted 6 military vehicles.

Turkey is sending in germdanes or "special forces" who were instrumental in the Kurdish areas of Turkey for brutal reprisals against the Kurds. But the YPG is not the same as the PKK.

Turkish war ships have surrounded Cyprus.

In another part of Syria where Syrian Government forces supported by Russia were involved in a fight with ISIS. ISIS took 100 civilian hostages and Putin with Syria suspended the assault so as not to harm the civilians per a report from the area.

US trying to ‘embarrass’ Pakistan with terror financing list: Minister
[ARABNEWS] Pakistain’s de facto finance minister, Miftah Ismail, has brushed off concerns that economic growth will suffer because of the country’s re-inclusion on a terrorist financing watch list, and lashed out against the US for seeking to "embarrass" his nation.

Washington last week persuaded member states of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to place Pakistain back on the "grey list" of nations with inadequate terrorist financing or money laundering controls. Pakistain was on the list for three years, until 2015.

The diplomatic setback has sparked anger in Islamabad against the US, which championed the motion against Pakistain at the FATF meeting in Gay Paree.

It represented another blow to the worsening relationship between the uneasy allies, who have long differed on how to combat gunnies waging war in Afghanistan.

Ismail, officially the adviser on finance, revenue and economic affairs to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, led Pakistain’s negotiations in Gay Paree. He told Rooters that Washington did not seem genuinely eager to see Pakistain boost its terrorist financing regulations and was instead bent on humiliating the country.

"If the Americans were interested in working with us and improving our CTF (counter-terrorist financing) regulations, they would have taken the offer I was making them," Ismail said. "But their idea was just to embarrass Pakistain."

Ismail said that he urged the US to allow Pakistain until June to fix any outstanding CTF issues and ceded ground in negotiations to strike a deal, but that the US was determined to see Pakistain suffer.

US officials say Pakistain remains weak on terrorist financing prosecutions and has not done enough to combat money-raising capabilities of charities controlled by Hafiz Saeed
...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat...
, whom the US has designated a terrorist.

In the run up to the FATF meeting, Pakistain sought to gain favor by seizing control of parts of Saeed’s Jamaat-ud-Dawa
...the front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba...
(JuD) and Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF) charities, which the US terms "terrorist fronts" for Death Eater group Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...
(LeT).

Ismail said Pakistain's law-enforcement shortcomings are often confused for lack of desire, especially at provincial level, where coppers are poorly trained when it comes to terrorist financing legislation.

"The will is there," he added.

Pakistain hopes to be removed from the grey list in six to 12 months from June, when it will be officially placed on the watch list, Ismail added.

Another One Bites the Dust
[YourNewswire] Dr. Dean Lorich, an orthopedic surgeon who volunteered in Haiti and exposed Clinton Foundation corruption and malpractice on the island, has been found dead in New York. He was 54.

Dr. Lorich was found by his 11-year-old daughter on the bathroom floor of his tony Upper East Side apartment with a knife in his chest at around 1pm on Monday.

The knife missed the surgeon’s heart, leaving him to bleed out and be found by his daughter. Despite the fact police were called to the property regarding an "assault", they instantly registered the death as "suicide" and closed the case.
Stabbed himself in the chest, he did.
One of the United States’ leading surgeons, Dr. Lorich was part of the relief effort sent by the U.S. to assist the relief effort led by the Clinton Foundation in Haiti after the devastating 2010 earthquake. However Dr. Lorich was disgusted by the "shameful" Clinton Foundation operation, and voiced his concerns to Hillary Clinton directly.

Unsatisfied with her response, he went public, writing an article published by CNN, accusing the Clinton Foundation of widespread corruption and malpractice in Haiti that cost the lives of thousands of children.

Billions of dollars were raised by the Clinton Foundation to help the Haitians, but the vast bulk of this money was funneled to Clinton friends and associates, according to Dr. Lorich, who described in harrowing detail what this meant for the children of Haiti.

Dr. Lorich argued that, in essence, Clinton greed left Haitian children to die painful deaths.

Considering billions of dollars had been donated to the Clinton Foundation with the express purpose of helping the Haitians, Dr Lorich and his team expected to have full support when their plane touched down.
He fricked up. He trusted them.
Instead, Dr. Lorich described the situation on the ground as "shameful" and he witnessed Clinton Foundation corruption in action. The Haitians were receiving no help whatsoever.
It was never about help. It was about enriching the Clintons and their cronies.
According to Dr. Lorich, a paltry 0.6% of donations granted by international donors to the Clinton Foundation with the express purpose of directly assisting Haitians actually ended up helping citizens of Haiti. 9.6% ended up with the Haitian government. The remaining 89.8% ‐ or $5.4 billion ‐ was funneled to non-Haitian organizations.

Unable to perform his duties ‐ and disgusted by the rampant corruption ‐ Dr. Lorich sent an email to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s Chief of Staff Cheryl D. Mills to report what he had seen. The email was then forwarded to Hillary Clinton which meant it eventually found its way into WikiLeaks’ possession and can be read here.
Much more at the link.

#1  The knife missed the surgeon’s heart, leaving him to bleed out

Well he was an Ortho, not a Thoracic surgeon.
Now if he had stabbed himself in the foot it would be different.

#2  Specifically, which detective, by name, ruled it a suicide? Inquiring minds want to know more.

He was despondent about a recently botched surgery and fell on his scalpel.

#11  This story is from December 2017. The good doctor was being sued for malpractice by a NFL player for botching his surgery.

Probably not Clinton related.

#12  Probably not but interesting just the same.

#14  Hmmm.

1. Take away a doctors right to practice for "political reasons"

2. Kill him.

3. Use the political firing to support the suicide cover-up. Am I coming out of left field?
