[NYP] The father and two brothers of the suspected mastermind of Sri Lanka’s Easter Sunday bombings were killed when security forces stormed their safe house two days ago, police sources and a relative of the suicide bombers told Reuters on Sunday.
Zainee Hashim, Rilwan Hashim and their father Mohamed Hashim, who were seen in a video circulating on social media calling for all-out war against nonbelievers, were among 15 killed in a fierce gun battle with the military on the east coast on Friday, four police sources said.
Niyaz Sharif, the brother-in-law of Zahran Hashim, the suspected ringleader of the wave of Easter Sunday bombings that killed over 250 people in churches and hotels across the island nation, told Reuters the video showed Zahran’s two brothers and father.
Three of the people killed in Friday’s gun battle were the same people who were seen in the undated video on social media, in which they discuss martyrdom and urge their followers to kill all nonbelievers, police sources said.

Lofty, wordy and correlatable but not causal.
Projects a UN directive of British design which the strutting Arabs executed with little regard for the 2nd class(?) Paleos because nobody wanted them as mates or allies.
See the Cubans escaped from Mexican detention camps. "I want", "Gimme", "Feed us". They brought nothing with them but expectations.

Clementine was a technology test bed by the SDIO; it wasn't a "brilliant pebbles" type thing but meant to test the sensors that would wind up there.

It’s a damn shame I have to wait another 20 months to vote for President Trump. I wish I could do it now. Twice. Or better yet, in as many jurisdictions as I can. Preferably in every swing district and every swing state.
Yeah, yeah, I know ‐ sadly, I can’t. It’s been a hell of a ride these past couple of years, and I sure hope it doesn’t end next November.
I am a middle-of-the-road Republican who voted for Trump with the utmost reluctance in 2016. He sure wasn’t perfect. He was no Cicero, either‐‐though he can give a decent speech when the chips are down. He had a few extra skeletons rattling in his closet, especially compared to colorless non-entities like Jeb. So yeah, I was queasy about voting for an ex-registered-Democrat-from-New-York-and-possible-liberal-now-turned-Republican.
Was I worried? Hell, yeah! Was I depressed? You bet. But, really, what options were there? Hillary? Jill Stein? Seriously? Trump wasn’t my first choice or my second choice or my third choice, but by the time November 2016 rolled around, Trump was the only choice on the menu. So I swallowed hard, took a leap of faith, and pulled the lever for the Donald.
Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen Are Non-Issues For Me
And let me tell ya, every time one of these newly minted Democratic "stars" opens their mouth, the same thought goes through my mind: Thank God for Trump. Trump is my last line of defense. Trump is the only thing that stands between me and these hallucinogenic socialist nut jobs. Trump is what’s keeping chaos and left-wing insanity at bay.
Didn't get on the DJT bandwagon until after the primaries had winnowed the field. I voted for the lesser of two evils and held my breath that we wouldn't get a Mittens or McStain clone.
Have been gleefully surprised by the result. I can't keep track of the inside political stuff but so far so great.

Let me add,
Every time I hear a NeverTrumper talk, I want to vote for Trump twice
Although many will say it's the same thing as Democrats I wanted to include them specifically.
[The Hill] The bell has rung on round two of the Democratic Party’s civil war.
Former Vice President Joe Biden’s entry into the 2020 presidential primary sets the stage for another knockdown, drag-out fight between the establishment wing of the party and the ascendant left, led by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
That showdown threatens to tear open old wounds the party suffered in the bitter 2016 primary contest between Sanders and Hillary Clinton.
Party leaders have tried to move on from that divisive episode, but there are still deep wells of suspicion and distrust between mainstream Democrats and the left.
"The civil war that started in 2016 never ended," said one veteran Democratic hand. "It’s still going on."
The 2016 primary contest left liberals fuming at what they viewed as establishment interference in the race, underscored by the hacked Democratic National Committee (DNC) emails that showed favoritism toward Clinton.

next week there may be three more candidates (mayor of NYC, Senator from CO and Guv from MT)
Bernie looks to finish first in Iowa and NH and that will reduce the field by eliminating about a dozen of the candidates but those events are 8 months away. Until then, let the woke times roll

Do it at a Walmart. " Clean up on aisle 5. " " Damn! Why did they use shot guns? " Discount on a bulk buy. " " I told them we should have kept the discount on bricks of .22 LR . "
[Jpost] Residents of a predominately Christian village in the West Bank have appealed to the Paleostinian Authority to provide protection for them after they were attacked by a group of Paleostinian button men.
The residents of Jifna, north of Ramallah, said the attack came following a dispute between a woman from the village and the son of a prominent Paleostinian figure affiliated with the PA’s ruling Fatah faction.
The dispute erupted after the woman filed a complaint with the PA police in which she accused the son of the Paleostinian personality of assaulting her and her children while she was driving her car in the village.
After the police summoned the man for questioning, his father and scores of button men arrived at the village and began hurling insults at the Christian residents. Some of the button men, villagers said, also had gun sex and demanded that the Christians pay the Jizyah ‐ a per capital annual tax ‐ called the dhimmi - levied on non-Moslem subjects living under Islamic rule.
According to some eyewitnesses, the button men who ran amok in Jifna were Fatah activists from the al-Am'ari refugee camp.
Villagers said that although they called the police, the PA security forces arrived at the scene three hours later.
"The village witnessed scenes of anarchy and lawlessness," residents of Jifna said in a statement. "Women and children were terrorized by the shooting, and houses were targeted with Molotov cocktails and rocks. The attackers were part of an unruly mob lacking any sense of patriotism. They were led by an influential personality from the Ramallah district."
PA Governor of Ramallah, Leila Ghanem, said she rejected the attack against the Christian residents of Jifna and promised that the culprits would be punished. She said that all those who "try to destabilize the security and social peace" will be severely punished, in accordance with the law. "Civil peace is a red line," she cautioned.
Wadie Abunassar, a prominent adviser to church leaders in the Holy Land, expressed outrage over the incident in Jifna. "Thank God there were no casualties," he wrote on Facebook. "The residents of Jifna, most of whom are Christians, have voiced anger and resentment for two main reasons: first, the big attack carried out by some residents of al-Am’ari refugee camp (near Ramallah) and, second, the delay in the arrival of the Paleostinian security forces."
Abunassar said that he contacted senior Paleostinian officials in Ramallah to intervene to end the incident. He expressed gratitude to PA President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial... and Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh for their efforts to "preserve the Paleostinian national fabric."
"We hope that everyone will learn that Christians are an inalienable part of the Paleostinian people, that they should not be vulnerable in any way," Abunassar said. "No influential individuals, regardless of their religious or political identity, should be allowed to violate the law and exploit their power for their personal interests."
[Rudaw] Germany has stopped processing some applications for asylum by Syrian refugees, pending a new assessment of the security situation in the war-torn country, according to a report on Saturday.
German media group Funke, quoting the interior ministry, said decisions on some asylum applications from Syrians have been 'postponed' with changes expected to be made to ministry guidelines.
Delegations from Iran, Russia and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire.... met in Kazakhstan on Thursday seeking an end to the Syrian conflict.
As a consequence of the Germany's halting of some asylum applications, refugee organizations fear Angela Merkel ...chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom. Now they make faces at her for inundating the country with Moslems .. 's government will reject more applications from Syria if there is no longer armed conflict there, say Funke.
According to the Funke report, those affected are asylum seekers awarded "subsidiary protection" ‐ exposed to serious danger, acts of war, the death penalty or torture in their home country.
According to government figures, 17,411 Syrians were awarded the status in 2018.
Germany has been deeply polarised by Chancellor Angela Merkel's 2015 decision to open the country's borders to those fleeing conflict and persecution at the height of Europe's migrant crisis.
Since then, the influx of over a million asylum seekers ‐ mainly from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan ‐ has fuelled the rise of the far-right, anti-Islam AfD party.
[IsraelTimes] Israeli troops on Saturday shot at three Paleostinian men as they attempted to sabotage the border fence in the northern Gazoo Strip, the army said.
A military spokeswoman said the Israel Defense Forces shot up the group in accordance with standard procedure. She could not say whether any of the men were hit.
Also Saturday, arson balloons launched from the Gazoo Strip sparked a fire at HaBesor Stream Nature Reserve in southern Israel, firefighting services said.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames, which caused damage to foliage but no casualties.
[Jpost] Sri Lanka’s president on Saturday outlawed two Islamist groups suspected to be behind the Easter Sunday suicide kabooms on churches and luxury hotels while the wife and child of the suspected ringleader were maimed during a military raid in safe house, his family and police said.
The National Thawheedh Jamaath (NTJ) and Jamathei Millathu Ibrahim were banned under his emergency powers, President Maithripala Sirisena said in a statement, nearly a week after the attacks that killed 253 people. Authorities could not act earlier to ban the two little-known groups because the law required them to show firm evidence against them, officials said.
Police believe the suspected criminal mastermind of the bombings, Mohammed Hashim Mohammed Zahran, led either the NTJ or a splinter group. Less is known about Jamathei Millathu Ibrahim, whose members are also believed to have played a role in the bombings.
Security forces have detained 100 people, including foreigners from Syria and Egypt, police said.
A shootout erupted on Friday during a raid on a safe house in Sainthamaruthu in Ampara district on the island’s east coast, killing at least 15 people, including three people with boom jackets and six children, a military front man said.
The maimed included the wife and a daughter of Zahran, his family said.
"Yes, the wife and daughter were maimed in the attack," said Mohammed Hashim Mathaniya, sister of Zahran. "I was asked to come to identify them but I am not sure I can go," she told Rooters from the town of Kattankudy in the east where Zahran was originally based.
Zahran’s driver was detained in a separate raid, according to a police statement. Bomb-making materials, dozens of gelignite sticks and thousands of ball bearings were found in a search of a separate house in the same area, along with Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... banners and uniforms, the military said.
Authorities have said there could be more attacks against religious centers. Last Sunday’s bombings shattered the relative calm that the Buddhist-majority country has seen since a 26-year-long civil war with mostly-Hindu ethnic Tamil separatists ended a decade ago.
The national police chief had refused to accept President Sirisena’s request to step down, two sources told Rooters on Saturday, a further embarrassment for the president.
The security forces’ response has included raids on mosques and homes of people in the city of Negombo where scores died in the bombing of a church.
[DAWN] Mohammad Zahran Hashim ‐ the suspected criminal mastermind of the Sri Lankan Easter bombings ‐ spent a "substantial amount of time in south India", The Hindu reported on Friday citing a top source within the Sri Lankan military.
"We are looking into the IS angle. We also suspect that some of those radical youth (suspected bombers) were indoctrinated and trained in India, possibly Tamil Nadu," revealed the senior military official, who wished to remain anonymous.
While Indian officials did not state that Hashim had travelled to India, they did point out that he had maintained virtual links with youth believed to be of Indian origin, said The Hindu.
Hashim's ties with south India were also confirmed by Hilmy Ahamed, vice-president of the Moslem Council of Sri Lanka.
[IsraelTimes] Community leaders in the Muslim-majority town of Kattankudy sounded the alarm about Zahran Hashim after seminary expelled him for ‘hardline’ views; Hashim had dozens of hate-filled sermons uploaded to YouTube
When Hashim sought to influence his fellow students, parents complained to the seminary chiefs and the school asked him to leave.
After a few years away he returned to Kattankudy, founded the National Thowheeth Jama’ath (NTJ) group, and worked with some former classmates to build a mosque where he could preach and share his rabble-rousing sermons.
“He was a good orator… he would pick and choose words from the Quran and twist and misuse them,” one official at a local mosque told AFP. He spoke on condition of anonymity, saying he was terrified of reprisals from Hashim’s followers.
Hashim’s violent streak attracted police attention three years ago when he brandished a sword during clashes with members of another Muslim organization, the official said.
But just as the net seemed to be closing in, he went into hiding with some followers, operating what appeared to be an NTJ breakaway group that was linked to vandalism attacks on Buddhist statues in Sri Lanka in December.
In 2014, a group called the “Peace Loving Moderate Muslims in Sri Lanka” published a newspaper commentary saying that the NTJ was “fast becoming a cancer” within Sri Lanka’s Muslim community and warned that the group was making mosque attendance compulsory, forcing a strict implementation of Islamic law and making women cover their faces and wear long robes.
According to Hilmy Ahamed, vice-president of the Muslim Council of Sri Lanka, Hashim shifted base to southern India.
“All his videos have been uploaded from India. He uses boats of smugglers to travel back and forth from southern India,” he told AFP.
Though complains were made about Hashim’s videos, YouTube declined to remove them on breach of policy grounds until after the attacks, according to Britain’s Sky News. The video sharing platform told Sky on Thursday it was deleting all of Hashim’s sermons, and other videos mentioning him other than news reports.
India has warned Sri Lanka that suicide attacks were possible weeks before Hashim and the other bombers walked into three churches and three hotels on Easter Sunday.
India’s warning was based on videos and other Islamic State-influenced material seized from raids in southern Tamil Nadu state in 2018.
#BREAKING: President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena, in terms of powers vested in him as the under Emergency Regulations No.01 of 2019, has taken steps to ban the organizations National Thawheed Jammath (NTJ) & Jamathei Millathu Ibraheem (JMI) in Sri Lanka after Easter blasts.
We now have a 4th version of the translation of the IS bayah video of the three suicide bombers. This one comes pretty close to being accurate. Some words are not audible because of the sound of children in the background.

To understand how this came to be, one must look at the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
The southern states of India, especially Tamil Nadu are totally out of sync with reality. They are run by rabid ideologues and personality cults, criminals clans and commies with a historic class grudge.
The local populations vote for community and class, rather than for unity and stability, even if it means keeping the same incompetent, complacent buffoons in power for decades. The result is absolutely no sync with the centre's policies, including that against islamism and terrorism.
There has been a slow islamization of these states, starting with kerala and west bengal has gone largely unnoticed by the central government and is now nearing dangerous levels.
Tamil interference in the island nation has always existed and has resulted in only misery. There seems to be a new trend in islamist connections now. Though Srilankan authorities have been complacent and often sympathetic toward cultural and religious freedoms, it is about time they stamped out not only islamist movements but also Tamil Nadu's influence in their region.

According to The Times of Israel, there were a number of Israelis in the congregation, who applied their well-honed skills surviving attacks from Gaza to rescue children and treat the wounded.
A month ago we would have been reading about dead and injured worshippers at an Escondido mosque had Mr. Earnest’s attempt to burn it down then succeeded...

Reports are now saying an armed church member gave their gun to the agent who apparently didn't have one, thinking they would be better with it. They should read the news more, most cops and agents are crap with guns. Texas might skew better but I'd still trust my own aim with my own pistol than some random 'badge'. I KNOW what I can hit.
[KhaamaPress] At least 15 Talibs were killed during the operations of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces in southern Uruzgan province of Afghanistan in last two days.
The 205th Corps front man confirmed 15 Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... have been killed in the last two days by a series of raids by the Afghan Special Forces along with the Arclight airstrikes by the Afghan Air Force in Tarin Kot, Uruzgan.
The officials are saying that this has been an on-going attempt to degrade Taliban networks and future terrorist operations in the area which has been a historically heavily contested area by the Taliban.
The raids conducted in the area by the Afghan Special Forces were met with festivities with the Taliban in Tarin Kot which were successfully defended by the security forces.
Cartoon at link Breitbart has more responses to the New York Times’ vicious idiocy here.
[Spectator USA] Easter worshippers who opened Thursday's copy of the International Edition of the New York Times were treated to a cartoon to warm the cockles of white supremacists, Islamists and lovers of "Edelweiss" everywhere. The cartoon, apparently by a Portuguese artist named Antonio Espresso, depicted a blind Donald Trump, resplendent in the kippah he wears at all times except when the cameras are near, being led by Benjamin Netanyahu in the form of a sausage dog, wearing the Star of David dog collar that all sausage dogs wear.
Some people published something, and now all those over-sensitive Jews are blaming the entire New York Times for it. How thin-skinned they are. I mean, it's not like this cartoon says that a tiny country on the other side of the world controls the president of the most powerful country in the world.

[NYPOST] Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), one of President Trump’s most relentless critics, is tiptoeing away from demanding his impeachment ‐ saying instead that it’s up to the nation to "vote his ass out of office."
"I’m not there yet on impeachment," Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said Friday night on HBO’s "Real Time with Bill Maher."
"I may get there. [Trump] may get me there," Schiff added.
"At the end of the day, Bill, there’s only one way to deal with this problem, whether we impeach him or not. And that is to vote his ass out of office."
On Sunday, Schiff said he expected House Democrats to debate going forward on impeachment hearings, after party leaders came under pressure from progressives to do so ‐ even though Special Counsel Robert Mueller did not find evidence that Trump’s campaign had colluded with Russia, as Schiff had charged.
Mueller’s report came to no conclusion about allegations that Trump had obstructed his investigation, but Attorney General William Barr decided not to pursue indictments into the matter

Have any of these treasonous slimes ever said exactly what Trump did to "obstruct" justice?
Other than firing Comey, which was perfectly legal, do they have anything at all?
#2
How stupid do the Democrats think the American People are? Hillary PAID $10 million dollars to get the Steele Dossier which was GRU DIZ informatsky...to actually use to frame Trump for doing what she just did AND paid ten million dollars to the Russians herself.
I got a quick clue for you: The American People are NOT stupid.
IF Barr does NOT pursue Indictments for Democrats attempting to stage a Coup against a Constitutionally elected President by UN elected Bureaucrats...then it must be a FACT that there are two kinds of Law in the US...one for the Bosses and another for the Peons. The American People will remember that unless they see Justice done.
The Law will get no Respect if it is only applied the Smollet way and the rest of the American Public is abandoned. Maybe you don't believe the American People are a GIANT.....don't wake the Giant, it is very big..... and its armed. And it isn't stupid.

The American Military are our brothers and our sons and our own Fathers. The Democrats spit on us. They don't respect our sons and brothers and fathers and say that we are stupid...or else we would get "real " jobs. And we are neanderthals and not decent people. Democrats say that.
We are expected to say out of Politics and to have no political feelings. But the USMCorps swears an OATH to uphold the Constitution. That is what the GUNS are FOR. To Defend the United States against all enemies, DOMESTIC or foreign. And the Democrats spit on us. Not to sugar coat it but, do you know what the bottom line actually IS....our Job is killing people who hate the United States. Trump is the President who stands between you...and US. He is all that keeps Democrats alive. He protects Democrats with his word and his presence. As long as the Vote is not Democrat rigged...and the Constitution is THERE...and there is no COUP. You and all the other Democrats are safe. You can depend on us, we WILL protect you and even though you spit on us we will remain Loyal to that Constitution.
Clinton couldn't keep his fly zipped. Obama showed his butt bowing. We were OK with that. They were duly elected. But a COUP? Don't push your Luck.

Schiff was Hillary's running mate and they wese defeated. The fwo of them lost the election to the highest offices and are officially therefore the biggest losers in politics. They claim to have won the majority of the votes but were defeafed via the Electorial College. They think they, therefore, are legit and thus have a mandate to remove their opponent. Even if they have to lie, cheat or steal.
Wrong. The vast coastal populations are Dims. The vast majority of fly over is not. They ignored the vast majority of the least populated regions so the system worked, electorial college. and gave them a loss.
Trump was smart enough to know better so the system gave the smarter candidate the golden egg. The mid terms the Dims under estimated Trumps higher IQ again and he kept them from taking the Senate.
Packed rally in WI last night when Trump ignored the White House press dinner, the establishment pubs were never that smart. +3.2% GDP. The Dims? Dead end witch hunts. Continue to be the biggest losers.

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdad has sought to return back to Iraq over the past few weeks after many of his supporters were killed in Syria’s military campaigns.
"Al-Baghdadi has been trying to enter Iraq for weeks, but he could not due to the strict security measures applied on the Iraqi-Syrian border," the officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Russia Today TV channel on Saturday.
"Al-Baghdadi is currently hiding in Jabal Abu Rajmin in the Syrian city of Palmyra, backed by some close aids, mostly of Saudi, Tunisian and Iraq nationalities," the officer said, adding that the murder of a large number of Islamic State forces of Evil in Syria "prompted Baghdadi to seek return to Iraq."
No reports about al-Baghdadi have been heard since September 2017, when he urged supporters to wage attacks against the West and keep fighting in Syria and neighboring Iraq.
Al-Baghdadi emerged as leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq, one of the groups that later became Islamic State, in 2010. In October 2011, the US officially designated al-Baghdadi as a terrorist. It has offered a reward of up to $25m (£19.6m) for information leading to his capture or death.

[ToloNews] The Ministry of Defense in a statement on Saturday said the Bala Murghab district in Badghis province in the northwest of Afghanistan has been fully cleared of Death Eaters and that the situation is back to normal in the district.
Bala Murghab came under attack by Death Eaters earlier this month and it was partially cleared of Death Eaters on April 11 after it was under siege by the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... for almost 10 days.
The ministry said in the statement that people can open their shops and that the situation is back to normal in Bala Murghab.
The Afghan forces defused at least 50 mines as they were placed in civilian houses, sacred places, roads and shops by the Taliban during their attack on the district ‐ in which they captured some key areas of the district, including the police headquarters for few days, the statement said.
The statement added that a new district police chief and a district governor were appointed for Bala Murghab to "better ensure the safety of the people".
Bala Murghab is a strategic district in Badghis province, surrounded by some other volatile districts such as Ab Kamari, Muqur, Jawand and Qadis.
Last time, Bala Murghab came under Taliban attack early in March and was under siege for more than two weeks, leaving more than two dozens of security forces dead and almost 28 of them gone missing.
According to the Ministry of Defense, at least 100 Talibs were killed in the festivities earlier this month.
Nicely done, guys!
The ministry said that Yasin Zia, the Deputy Minister of Defense for Security, joined the Commando forces in their last operation in the district on Friday.
[NEWS.YAHOO] Attacks by two jihadist groups killed at least 22 Syrian government troops and Death Eaters in the northern province of Aleppo early on Saturday, a war monitor said.
Thirty others were maimed in the assaults by al-Qaeda's former Syria branch, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), and its ally Hurras al-Deen, which remains affiliated to the global jihadist network, the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
The attacks in the southern and southwestern countryside of Aleppo province were launched shortly after midnight and triggered festivities that continued until dawn, Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman said.
He said the fighting subsided after Russian aircraft struck jihadist positions in the area, prompting the fighters to pull back.
Eight jihadists were killed, he added.
Russia aircraft also carried out strikes in neighbouring Hama province early on Saturday, killing five civilians, the Observatory said.
On Friday, Russian strikes killed 10 civilians in Idlib province, the hub of territory held by the jihadists of HTS in northwestern Syria.
Russia and rebel-backer The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund.... in September inked a buffer zone deal to avert a massive government offensive on the Idlib region, but the deal has never been implemented.
The region of some three million people has come under increasing bombardment since HTS took full control of it in January.

[Mirror] Did the man who killed America’s most famous president escape justice all along?
New technology appears to have uncovered bombshell new evidence that it was not Booth who soldiers shot dead five days after he murdered Lincoln.
And it suggests that, contrary to the history book accounts, Booth actually got away with the murder and lived for another 38 years under a different identity.
The extraordinary breakthrough came after researchers used new facial recognition software to examine three photos, which have long been used by conspiracy theorists to throw doubt on whether Booth was really killed after he assassinated President Lincoln.
One was an image of a man called John St Helen from 1877, the other was of the embalmed corpse of a David E. George from 1902, and the third was of John Wilkes Booth taken in 1865, shortly before he fired a 44.calibre pistol into the back of Lincoln’s head.
The exercise was supposed to finally put the outrageous theory to bed - but scientists were stunned with what happened next.
After the state-of-the-art software meticulously analysed the faces of similarities, such as the spaces between the eyes, the jaw lines, the shapes of the noses and cheek bones, the data showed a strong possibility that all three photographs were of the same man.
It would mean that Booth wasn’t killed in the Virginia barn by a Union soldier after all but managed to escape the manhunt, living for another three decades as St Helen and George, before dying of natural causes in 1902 aged 64.
Ramy Romany, an Egyptologist who helped oversea the Booth investigation as part of a new Discovery Channel series, Mummies Unwrapped, said: “I was absolutely shocked.

Thanks mods for this post.I don't work with this type of posting much. This history has interesting surprises at times. What has surprised me the most is the absolute control Lincoln had over the media image he desired presented. Then "President Lincoln suspended the writ of habeas corpus to maintain public order in restive areas. Restive areas are areas in which people are restless, unruly and often disobedient. Habeas corpus refers to a person's right to appear before a judge before imprisonment". Then of course declaring martial law after the civil war. Media control as well to maintain order.

...Interesting though it may be, this is an unlikely conclusion. Booth:
*Identified himself prior to and after he was shot,
*Was identified by literally dozens of people at the shooting site,
*Was identified by a tattoo,
*Was identified at his autopsy, and
*Was identified by family after the autopsy.
In addition, the bullet that took him down fractured three vertebrae in his neck, and partially severed his spinal cord. Even with 21st century medical tech, the best case scenario would be him bedridden on a respirator for what remained of his life. Any suggestion that he was up and around - or even capable of being moved - after his shooting is, to put it politely, dubious.

[DAWN] Julian Assange's lawyers have filed a court complaint in Spain against a group of Spaniards they allege extorted the WikiLeaks founder whom they say may have been the victim of "espionage", a source in his defence team said Saturday.
Assange, who for seven years lived holed up in London's Ecuadoran embassy where he had taken refuge to avoid extradition to Sweden on rape accusations, was tossed in the clink You have the right to remain silent... on April 11 after Quito terminated his asylum.
The 47-year-old founder of WikiLeaks, which exposed everything from US military secrets to the wealthy's tax evasion, is now awaiting sentencing for breaching his British bail conditions in 2012.
The source, who wished to remain anonymous, said the complaint was against "a group of Spaniards who allegedly engaged in extortion." The source told AFP the complaint was also against various employees of the embassy and Ecuador's foreign ministry "who could be responsible," without detailing how.
The source added a probe was ongoing into the alleged extortion, as well as "espionage" that could have taken place against Assange, without giving further details.
According to online daily eldiario.es, four Spaniards have videos and personal documents of Assange which they somehow obtained via an alleged spying system that included security cameras set up in the embassy in London.
The Spaniards allegedly tried to extort three million euros ($3.3 million) out of WikiLeaks not to publish any of it, the report says.
If confirmed, it is unclear how the Spaniards got access to the alleged spying system and were able to get the information about Assange.
It is also unclear whether his lawyers accuse the embassy and ministry employees targeted in the complaint, reportedly made to Spain's top-level National Court, of being behind the alleged espionage.

Has the world turned into a series of dime novels from the glory days of the early century, or is it just me?
[Rudaw] Children born to Yezidi mothers raped by Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) captors will not be accepted into the Yezidi faith, the Spiritual Council clarified on Saturday, days after it implied "all" survivors would be taken in.
In a new statement published on Saturday, the council said coverage of its earlier statement was "distorting the truth".
"About the decision to accept the female survivors and children, we did not mean the children born as a result of rape at all, but those who were born from Yezidi parents and were kidnapped during the invasion of Sinjar [Shingal] by ISIS on August 3, 2014," the council clarified Saturday, using the Arabic acronym for ISIS.
The earlier statement, published on Wednesday and signed by the council’s deputy head Hazim Tahseen Saadi, did not specifically mention children born out of rape, but it did say the community would accept "the return of all the ISIS survivors as we consider what happened to them outside of their will".
By implication, this appeared to include children born of rape.
The Yezidi faith does not accept marriage and conception between Yezidis and non-Yezidis, nor does it allow conversion.
Speaking to Rudaw, Murad Ismael, head of Yezidi rights group Yazda, said the clarification was the result of opposition from within the Yezidi community itself.
"The clarification came as a result of strong opposition by some factions of the community, including Yezidi political parties, religious figures, and some tribal and community leaders. For many people this was seen as too much and a clear violation of Yezidi religion," he said.
Ismael believes the first statement was issued without first conferring with the wider community and without consideration for its legal implications.
"Obviously the previous statement included all Yazidi women and their children. I think they attenuated the language due to sensitivity but it was clearly meant to accept all children," Ismael said.
"I do agree that the first statement was done in a rush, without consultation with the wider community, and without a plan of execution. For example, legality around this was not discussed. Iraqi law states clearly that all children born to a Moslem parent should be registered as a Moslem," he added.
The Yazda chief warned the decision will have "catastrophic outcomes" for the children themselves.
"As a humanitarian and advocacy organization for the rights of Yezidis and other religious minorities, we are saddened by the rejection," Ismael said. "We will continue to seek other avenues to address this issue. The issue of captives is the most important one to us."
"There will be catastrophic outcomes if we fail to address issue of children born out of rape. Children are children and they should never be treated as criminals ‐ regardless to who were the biological parents."
"However, there's more than one way to skin a cat... we abide by and respect the statement of the council as the highest authority of the Yezidi faith," he added.
Thousands of Yezidi men and elderly people slaughtered by ISIS gunnies and buried in mass graves during the 2014 genocide. Women and children were kidnapped and sold into slavery ‐ many facing years of repeated sexual violence.
Of 6,417 Yezidis kidnapped by ISIS, the fate of 2,992 remains unclear, according to Yezidi Affairs Office from the KRG Ministry Religion and Endowment.

[Rudaw] Remnants of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group (ISIS) in the disputed territory of Makhmour ambushed a group of Kurdish civilians on Saturday, taking one of them hostage, a top Peshmerga commander confirms.
Sirwan Barzani, commander of the Peshmerga forces on the Gwer and Makhmour fronts, said the group of civilians had gone to the Ali Rash plains in Qaraj to search for desert truffles when they were encircled by suspected ISIS turbans.
Those desert truffles must be amazing, when so many are willing to brave kidnapping for them.
"One of them named Bazhdar Mohammed has been captured and his fate remains unknown," Barzani told Rudaw.
The Peshmerga commander urged locals to stay clear of areas unsecured by the Peshmerga or Iraqi armed forces.
"There are not Peshmerga forces there as its security has been handed to Iraqi forces," Barzani said. "But ISIS maintains a presence in the area due to the security vacuum."
"We have warned civilians of the danger of the area multiple times," he added.
Since January there has been a spate of ISIS kidnappings and murders in similar secluded spots, particularly in the isolated desert reaches of Anbar province. The killings led the federal government to outlaw the lucrative search for mushrooms in several areas.
ISIS bandidosmurderous Moslems seized Makhmour and surrounding villages in 2014 before they were quickly routed in a combined operation led by the Peshmerga, Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) guerillas, and Coalition forces.
Although the jihadist group was declared defeated in Iraq in December 2017, its remnants have retreated into Iraq’s deserts and mountains, where they have resumed earlier hit-and-run tactics of kidnap, ambush, bombing, and execution, aided by highly sophisticated sleeper cells in the cities and hinterland.
In the aftermath of the Kurdistan independence referendum of September 2017, Iraqi forces launched an offensive against Peshmerga forces in the oil-rich province of Kirkuk and other areas considered disputed between Erbil and Baghdad. In Makhmour, a combined force of Iraqi Army troops and Hashd al-Shaabi attacked the Peshmerga and Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), forcing them out of the town and into the mountains.
The Peshmerga’s carefully cultivated human intelligence network in Makhmour collapsed. The predominantly Shiite forces which took their place failed to imitate its success.
Makhmour falls on the fault line between Peshmerga positions and Iraqi forces. The ungoverned spaces left between them offer murderous Moslems fertile ground to regroup.
The Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR), the US-led anti-ISIS Coalition, launched an operation last summer against ISIS remnants around Makhmour. With rare cooperation between Iraqi and Peshmerga forces, the threat appeared to be contained.
"It is likely that ISIS is attempting to refit, reorganize and recruit in the vicinity of Makhmour," US Army front man Col James Rawlinson recently told Rudaw, using the Arabic acronym for ISIS. "ISIS wants to destabilize the area. The Coalition’s goal is to enable local security forces to contain and defeat threats and raise awareness of the deceptive nature of ISIS ideology to empower vulnerable populations to reject it."
"The past confirms ISIS will seize any opportunity to exploit any security gap they can," Rawlinson added.

If the regulator actually had to pay that out of the budget rather than other people picking up the cost we'd see the full size of the leviathan state.
[DAWN] LARKANA: The number of HIV-positive cases rose to 18 when a special team working under the administrative control of the Sindh AIDS Control Programme on Friday arrived in Ratodero to ascertain the causes of its spread in children.
It could be something as simple as needles being re-used at a clinic... Mr. Wife’s Indian colleagues brought in new needles for him for that reason when he was hospitalized in Bhopal with amœbic dysentary back in 1990. They brought in the meds directly from the outside pharmacy, too, rather than relying on the probability that what came from the hospital dispensary was actually falsely labelled tap water.
Dr Holla Ram, who looks after the local AIDS control office, said that after visiting Ratodero and meeting the people concerned, the team received laboratory reports of 15 infected children. Of them, he added, 12 appeared HIV-positive cases and the rest HIV-negative.
The tests were conducted by the Peoples Public Health Initiative (PPHI) office. "But even then we will double check them by conducting fresh tests," he said.

The War of 1812
Francis F. Beirne
E.P. Dutton & Co., Inc., 1949
My interest in the War of 1812 began after I outgrew my charming twit of a history teacher, "Can you believe we picked a fight with the British, attacked Canada for no reason, and complained after Washington DC was burned? The only fight we won was at New Orleans, and that was after peace had been declared." Implying that the British were bushwhacked.
As I attempted to assuage my ignorance, I realized I knew nearly nothing of what was a nation-forming conflict.
Page 87
James Madison celebrated his 61st birthday on March 16, 1812. That is an age at which most men are thinking of retirement. But not a president of the United States who has served only one term. The Henry letters might cause a tempest, trouble might be brewing in Florida, war was obviously on the way, a large and important section of the country hated his administration, the treasury was short of funds - chaos seemed to be just around the corner. None of these considerations discouraged Mr. Madison. He was a victim of that strange fascination for the job that grips all presidents and his hat with the big cockade was in the ring.
Having read the book Six Frigates by Ian W. Toll, I was already familiar with the navy actions of the conflict. I have to admit, I do like the style of Mr. Beirne.
Page 131
Before the order "Boarders away!" could be given the Constitution's sails filled, she freed herself and shot forward just as the Guerriere's mainmast and foremast fell, leaving the once proud British frigate a helpless, drifting hulk, her guns forever silenced. But the Union Jack still waved from the stump of her mizzen. Having ordered his own guns to cease fire, Hull lowered a boat and dispatched an officer to the Guerriere to inquire if she had struck her colors. The officers found Captain Dacres on deck, dazed by the misfortune that had so swiftly overtaken him. The question was a hard one for a British commander to answer, and one that was seldom put to him. Dacres stood puzzled for a moment. "Well," he replied reluctantly, "I don't know. Our mizzenmast is gone, our mainmast is gone; and, upon the whole, you may say we have struck our flag."
On Canada, I was woefully uninformed. Thankfully, Mr. Beirne describes that theater in manageable detail.
Page 213
Earlier in the summer Harrison appealed to Governor Isaac Shelby to send him 1,500 men. Not only that but he invited the Governor, a veteran of the Revolution and known affectionately throughout Kentucky as "Old King's Mountain" for the distinguished part he had played in that battle to join the expedition. "Scipio," he reminded the Governor, "did not disdain to act as the lieutenant of his younger and less experienced brother, Lucius." The classical allusion had the desired effect. Shelby, in spite of his 66 years, responded cordially to the invitation, and his example inspired his countrymen and stimulated recruiting. The Kentuckians flocked to his banner and, in the end, he brought with him, not 1,500, but 4,000 men.
I found this book both informative and easy to read, a rare treat. I would go so far as recommend it to early teens as a supplement to their American History education. Once they realize that the Battle of New Orleans was Britain's cream of the crop coming for a fight against a coalition of defenders in a winner-takes-the-Mississippi-River-System, peace treaties be damned, perhaps they will realize other instances in history are more than 15 minutes of Dolly Madison jokes.
Also surprising, but maybe it shouldn't be anymore, a book this age is listed at Amazon, and at an extremely reasonable price for a hardcover book. Link is to that page.
Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) ‐ An Iraqi man was killed and two others were maimed Saturday in a kaboom in Salahuddin’s oil rich district of Baiji, a police chief was quoted as saying.
Baiji police chief Ali Alhamdani told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the kaboom targeted a truck in Baiji, north of Tikrit, leaving the driver dead and two municipal workers maimed.

[BREITBART] During an interview with Maker that was published in 2018, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) recalled what her life was like for her following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Tlaib, a Moslem, revealed after the attack she was "really afraid" of her "fellow Americans." Funny thing, that. I was really afraid for my fellow Americans.
"I was probably in my second year in law school when 9/11 happened," Tlaib shared. "And I was really terrified of what was going to happen to my husband, who was only a green card holder at the time. I immediately called my brothers and told them to be very careful who you hang out with, telling my sisters, you know, just be real careful out there, and being really afraid of my fellow Americans."
She continued, "It really pushed me to be more involved, and I got really curious and really angry. And I think that combination got me, you know, in front of a number of issues in the city of bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit ... ruled by Democrats since 1962. As 2018 ended, the country remained as bitterly divided as when Trump entered office in January 2017. 'The general fault lines remained unchanged. A mostly upscale and coastal urban professional and educated elite was politically aligned by suburban conservatives and a rural and small-town middle class in the nation's interior.

[KhaamaPress] Provincial Chief of Police for Kandahar, Major General Tadin Khan confirmed that during a clash with the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... in Maiwand district of Kandahar, there were four women and three children maimed.
"There was a clash between #ANDSF and the #Taliban in Maiwand, #Kandahar. The Taliban maimed 7 residents, all women and kiddies, from an indirect fire round. They speak of peace but their action harmed our women and kiddies," said MG Tadin’s social media.
Initial reports came from the District Chief of Police of Maiwand, Haji Lala who said the Taliban fired an indirect mortar round, aiming for the security forces and instead hit a local resident’s house which inflicted the injuries to the women and kiddies.
The Taliban have mentioned the festivities on social media, but failed to mention that civilians were maimed in the clash. The Taliban often target security forces but unfortunately residents are often victims of these attacks.
[ToloNews] At least six people, including two civilians, were killed in an operation by Afghan cops in two villages on the outskirts of Charikar city, the center of northern Parwan province, the commander of security forces coordination in Parwan, Alozai Ahmadi confirmed on Saturday.
He said the operation was carried out to clear the areas of Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... He said two of those killed are civilians while it is not known whether the four others are residents of the area or Death Eaters.
The operation was carried out early on Saturday morning and was supported by the Special Forces as well as the Air Force.
He said that at least 15 suspects, all residents of the villages, were tossed in the calaboose You have the right to remain silent... by the Special Unit of the National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... during the operation.
Meanwhile, ...back at the Council of Boskone, Helmuth ordered the space pirate fleet to attack Zemblonia... a police commander in Parwan claimed that the operation was not coordinated with them.
Reports indicate that the Kabul-Balk highway which passes through Charikar city in Parwan was closed for few hours by residents of the province to protest civilian casualties in the operation.
CIVILIAN CASUALTIES IN FIRST QUARTER OF 2019
The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan said in a report on April 24 that it has documented high levels of harm to civilians but adds that there has been a 23 percent decrease in overall civilian casualties as compared to the same period last year and is the lowest for a first quarter since 2013.
The report says the UN documented 1,773 civilian casualties (581 deaths and 1,192 injured), including 582 child casualties (150 deaths and 432 injured) between January 1 and March 31.
In the first quarter of 2018, UNAMA documented 2,305 civilian casualties (799 deaths and 1,506 injured), including 609 child casualties (176 deaths and 433 injured), the report says.
The overall reduction of civilian casualties was driven by a decrease in civilian casualties by suicide improvised bomb (IED) attacks, the report says.
UNAMA notes the particularly harsh winter conditions during the first three months of the year, which may have contributed to this trend, the report says.
It is unclear whether the decrease in civilian casualties was influenced by any measures taken by parties to the conflict to better protect civilians, or by the ongoing talks between parties to the conflict, the report mentions.
UNAMA says it remains concerned by the continued targeting of civilians and increase in civilian casualties from the use of non-suicide IEDs by Anti-Government Elements, as well as significant increases in civilian casualties from aerial and search operations, which drove an overall increase in civilian casualties by Pro-Government Forces.
Civilian deaths attributed to Pro-Government Forces surpassed those attributed to Anti-Government Elements during the first quarter of 2019, the report says.
Between 1 January and 31 March 2019, UNAMA attributed 608 civilian casualties (305 deaths and 303 injured) to Pro-Government Forces, representing a 39 percent increase from the same period last year.
UNAMA notes with concern that Pro-Government Forces were responsible for more civilian deaths than Anti-Government Elements during the first quarter of 2019.
UNAMA attributed 17 percent of civilian casualties to the Afghan national security forces, 13 percent to international military forces, two percent to pro-Government gangs, and two percent to multiple Pro-Government Forces.
[DW] President Emmanuel Macron's plans for tax cuts, higher pensions and reform of the civil service have failed to satisfy yellow vest protesters. Thousands erupted into the streets on Saturday.
Protests for the 24th consecutive weekend by yellow vest (gilet jaune) demonstrators have centered on Gay Paree and Strasbourg, part-time home to the European Parliament, just a month before European elections.
By the afternoon, the interior ministry said about 5,500 people had taken to the streets across La Belle France. Of these, some 2,600 were in Gay Paree. According to police in Gay Paree, 8,920 preventive checks were carried out in the capital and 11 arrests were made.
Coming just two days after President Emmanuel Macron spent two hours at the Elysee Palace in Gay Paree explaining his plans for improving living standards, including € 5 billion ($5.5 billion) in tax cuts and improved pensions, among other measures, the protests were being seen as an indicator of approval, or otherwise.
About 2,000 demonstrators gathered in the eastern city of Strasbourg for what they described as a "national and international demonstration," which attracted some participants from just over the border in Germany. While the main rally was peaceful, some masked individuals dressed in black set fire to containers on the streets near the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... parliamentary buildings.
PROTESTS WITH UNIONS
Rallies in the capital were called by the yellow vests and by the country's second-largest trade union federation, the CGT, behind the banner: "Facing a global attack, a general response."
As during previous protests, police were out in force to restrict their movements. Another yellow vest rally in the capital targeted media outlets in protest at their treatment of the movement.
Local authorities had taken similar measures to prevent demonstrators from reaching the center of Toulouse ...lies on the banks of the River Garonne, half-way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The Toulouse metropolitan area is the fourth-largest in La Belle France... in the southwest, Lille in the north, Rennes in the west and Rouen in the northwest of the country.
A number of participants in previous rallies have said they are preparing for a major demonstration next Wednesday, May 1, a traditional day of labor protest across Europe.
