#1 Killing Tatar tot would go a long way in helping secure a peace.

#5 use some of the oil money and try a "guns for cash" campaign like they have tried in major cities here in the US . Hell it couldn't hurt.

#6 At least 13 American soldiers have been killed around Baghdad since Monday - the highest four-day U.S. toll in the capital since the 2003 invasion.

Jeebus, has the AP now become baseball statisticians? Good grief, stop with the body count and let's focus on WINNING (not ending) this thing!

#7 Sounds like more pre-election spin to me. The press will report an ever-darkening horizon right up to the election. If the Dems win, then the clouds will part; the sun will shine: and Ahmed will sleep safe in his own little bed again.

Dumbest idea yet.

You really believe this? Go read Iraq the Model, whos been consistently pro-US. Baghdad is majorly f**cked up right now. Now maybe its cause this isnt winnable like the left says. Maybe its cause we dont have enough troops like McCain and the weekly standard say. Maybe its cause we our Rule of engagement arent tough enough, like Verlaine in Iraq says, IIRC. Or maybe its cause Islam is screwed up, like some here say. Or maybe its cause of Iran. But thinking that its not f**ked up, and that the notion that it is is just MSM spin, now thats just living in cloud cuckoo land. I pray no one in the admin thinks that. Im sure Condi doesnt, at least.

#12 I think many of you are missing the fact that pre-election spin can be generated by our enemies spiking up their number of attacks. It doesn't require any nefarious plans on the part of the AP or MSM.

The enemy has shown they are very media savy and aware of our election cycles and if the US military didn't predict and uptick in violence they aren't doing their jobs.

#13 liberalhawk just wants to relive those good ol' sixties days. Ah the good old days when all of those men, women and children were over run by the Khmer Rouge. The piles of skulls stacked in the fields. The desperate boat people giving it their all to survive.

Ahh, the Summer of Love.
