#2 We're overdue for a "big one", JM - a space rock somewhere in the neighborhood of six-eight km in diameter. That's what Hawking was talking about. We're also in a race to see which can be reached first - population or food limit. Most of the rest of that "world clock" is based on computer models and is about as accurate as "90 percent of all statistics are simply made up, including this one".
