 File under: Taliban

#1 Could be they did shoot it down - the armed UAVs fly low and slow, for the most part, This seems awfully like the sort of empty swagger we're used to from them, tho.

#2 UAVs for the most part fly slow, but not low.

#3 Depends on the model and the mission. If this was, say, one of the earlier Predators flying a NATO recon up close and personal rather than a Reaper hunter-killer on standoff recon, it might well have been flying much lower than 25,000 feet in the mountains around Khost.

#4 Ducks fly real slow and low, and they're still darned hard to shoot down!

#5 Plus then you've got to get all the little pellets out of the meat after you defeather it. Lots and lots of work ... but if you've got a good Goldie she'll retrieve them all day for you. ;-)

LOL! I can just see some duck-hunter's face as his golden retriever brings him one of the Army's small Regimental-level UAVs...

I've never been much of a duck-hunter, but I do know you have to lead your target. A 10-gauge goose-gun with #6 shot reduces the need a bit, but it still works better to lead. You also want to let the birds get far enough away they don't hit the water as mush.

#7 No! Just No!
Maybe if it's warm enough, but we're Unionized. So no,to the duck thing.

Got your quail covered, got your pheasants, got your happy face, got your kids protected, but no to cold, open water. Try a Lab, there's purdy dum and like a cheep thrill.

Unionized golden retrievers? That does explain a great deal. ;-)
