#2 There's also the nuclear bomb that fell from a B-52 that landed in the waters off Spain, and at least a dozen more that I know about. The two incidents mentioned - the Detroit and Idaho Falls incidents - plus Three-Mile Island are the most significant nuclear accidents we've had. The Russians have had TWELVE, including three complete melt-downs that happened before Chernobyl. Nukes are NOT toys, which is why every one of the incidents that take place usually end the careers of those associated with them, even if there's no explosion.
