ANY official act of "surgical strike" or any "proportional" anything is STILL taking a shot at the sovereignty of another country...just WHAT do you CALL that? You call that War, don't you? You want to call it something else?

And what do you think the rest of the world will call it? I have a better idea...lets do nothing at all and SELL them poison gas.

#10 How is it that friends and relatives can walk freely about the impact areas without being contaminated? Speaking of contamination, we've seen no effort or discussions of decontamination. The rockets allegedly used appear amateurish, the types used by Palestinians against Israel.

From my readings, there appears to be something of a consensus that the current chemical weapon use is an amateur attempt to shape political opinion and pull the US into the mess.

As I said yesterday:

Al Qaeda has long been developing a chemical warfare program. There are a significant number of Syrian rebels, besides al-Nusra, allied with AlQ.
Arab groups have long situated weapons and weapons facilities among the population. Arab groups have also used the population as props, like in Gaza and Egypt.

It's not all that far a stretch to consider any chemical attack in Syria as not automatically done by the Syrian government.

#20 Assad is talking tough. He knows Putin is a calculated player who does not fear the Champ, and he [Putin] will not roll over. Putin will smile and possibly join the Chinese in some counter move, possibly in the Pacific. I wouldn't discount some coordinated counter move by the Iranians either.
