Somalia Demands Sanctions End for 'Chief' Shebab Banker
[An Nahar] Somalia's government has demanded U.N. sanctions be lifted from a businessman accused of being a chief financier for al-Qaeda inspired Death Eaters fighting the internationally-backed authorities, the information minister said Sunday.

Banker and businessman Ali Ahmed Nur Jimale, who was placed on a United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
Security Council sanction list in February 2012, is accused of being "one of al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
's chief financiers", according to the U.N.

But Somali information minister Abdulahi Elmoge Hersi said a government committee had investigated the allegations and found no evidence for maintaining the sanctions.

"After long discussions, the Somali government decided that Ahmed Nur Jimale should have his embargo lifted to get his freedom back," Hersi told Agence La Belle France Presse.

"We call on the international community to respect our decision," he said, adding that a formal request would be submitted to the U.N.

According to U.N. sanctions, Jimale is "ideologically aligned" with the Shabaab, who remain dedicated to overthrowing Mogadishu's government, which is battling the Death Eaters with the backing of a 17,700-strong African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
(AU) force.

Jimale is accused of the "funding of myrmidon activities and weapons purchases" specifically targeting self-declared independent Somaliland, as well as allegedly both raising funds for Shabaab fighters and helping them conceal their money transfers.

U.N. sanctions on the 59-year old financier -- who holds both Somali and Djiboutian passports -- include a travel ban, asset freeze and arms embargo.

Jimale, whose business interests have included charcoal and sugar dealing as well as key stakes in banks and a mobile telephone company, is reported to have close ties to Shabaab factions now at odds with top commander Ahmed Abdi Godane.

But in the past two years the AU and government forces have clawed back control of a series of key towns, areas where businessmen like Jimale would previously have paid taxes to the fighters.

U.N. Monitoring Group reports last month estimated that the Shabaab are still some 5,000 strong, and remain the "principal threat to peace and security to Somalia."

UN refutes Dar Al-Ifta claims
[Libya Herald] The United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
Support Mission in Libya has rejected claims by the Grand Mufti's office, the Dar Al-Ifta, that it supports the division of the country. It says that it is "most surprised by a recent statement which came from the Dar Al-Ifta on security conditions in the country in which it refers to the 'United Nations calling for the division of the country'".

On Wednesday, following a meeting of members of the Dar Al-Ifta council, called to Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
by the Grand Mufti to discuss the security situation in the country, his office put out a statement implying that the UN supported the division of Libya. "No group, entity or institution in the country has have the right to use this current time in the absence of law to achieve gains by force,be it through murder, or bombings and violence, or calls for division of the country, or regionalism under any name, or federalism," the statement read, "because Libyans did not give their lives in order to invite the UN to divide the country".

In its response, UNSMIL has said that it the inclusion of the UN in the statement was unjustified and unfounded.

It said in a statement issued yesterday, that the UN had not, in any manner whatsoever, called for the splitting of Libya or for a federal state. It firmly supported the country's unity and respected its national illusory sovereignty.

Attempts to contact the Dar Al-Ifta office for comment today were unsuccessful.

Egypt prosecution orders release of son of Brotherhood leader El-Beltagy
[Al Ahram] Beni Suef prosecution has decided to release the son of Moslem Brüderbund big shot Mohamed El-Beltagy on Sunday, several hours after his arrest, as no charges have been brought against him.

Ammar, 20 years-old, was tossed in the clink
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
on Sunday as part of a large-scale crackdown on the Islamist Moslem Brüderbund group.

Along with three other sons of Brotherhood leaders, Ammar El-Beltagy was rounded up in Beni Suef Governorate, south of Cairo, according to security sources. His father, who was issued an arrest warrant for allegations including terrorising people, torture and murder, is still in hiding, as is fellow leading Brotherhood member Essam El-Erian.

Mohamed El-Beltagy's 17 year-old daughter Asmaa was killed in a bloody police raid on a pro-Morsi protest camp in east Cairo on 14 August, which left hundreds dead and sparked days of violent festivities, pitting Islamists against security forces.

Beni Suef prosecution decided to detain four other members of the Moslem Brüderbund for four days, pending investigation, according to Al-Ahram's Arabic site.

Egyptian tourism syndicate calls for delisting Qatar, Turkey as destinations
[Al Ahram] Egypt's Independent General Tourism Workers Syndicate called Sunday for the removal of Turkey and Qatar as tourism destinations as both states refuse to recognise the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi as the result of a popular uprising 30 June.

Bassem Halaqa, head of the syndicate, has been calling Egypt's tour operators to boycott Turkish and Qatari airlines and to use instead the airlines of Arab Gulf States that support the present interim government, such as Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.

Halaqa added in a statement Sunday that the syndicate would not accept both Turkey or Qatar's intervention in Egypt's internal affairs, appealing to Egyptians to follow the Arab Gulf lead and restructure ties with states that still back Morsi and the Moslem BrĂĽderbund.

"It's an expected development, as there are currently political tensions in relations between Egypt and both Qatar and Turkey," Rasha El-Azayzi, the Ministry of Tourism's spokesperson, told Ahram Online.

The syndicate move could negatively impact tourism at a time when Egypt seeks to augment tourism, to boost the state's foreign currency revenues.

According to Al-Azayzi, Egypt saw 38,200 Turkish tourists between January and July of 2013, compared to 24,037 tourists in the same period of last year.

On the other hand, Turkey receives annually around 100,000 Egyptians, mostly for tourism and shopping, according to the Egyptian Travel Agents Association.

Arabia
Qaeda head slams Saudi support to Egypt
[Al Ahram] A top Saudi member of Al-Qaeda slammed King Abdullah's support for the Egyptian army's ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi, in a video message posted online Sunday.

"One of their latest crimes is supporting the secular forces in Egypt against the government of Morsi," Ibrahim al-Rubaish said in a statement.

Rubaish is considered the religion affairs chief of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the Yemen-based franchise of the jihadist network, formed in a 2009 merger of its Saudi and Yemeni branches.

"The son of Saud was the first to offer congratulations after the fall of the government of Morsi, and the most generous supporter, offering billions to the Tamarod government that rebelled against everything, including Allah," he said.

The preacher was attacked by some of those who were praying after he finished his prayers in Saudi Arabia's Riyadh.

Earlier, AFP reported that a top Saudi Arabian Al-Qaeda member had criticised King Abdullah's support for the Egyptian army's ouster of Islamist former President Mohamed Morsi, which took place on 3 July after nationwide anti-Morsi protests.

Britain
Muslim Brotherhood leader hiding in London
The new spiritual leader of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood is hiding in London in fear of assassination, it can be disclosed.

Gomaa Amin is thought to have been made head of the Islamist organization last week after the arrest of his predecessor in Cairo by Egypt's military rulers. Amin, 79, had flown to London about two months ago for medical treatment and as a result was not detained when the army seized power.

Amin's presence in London is a potential headache for British officials who may be obliged to provide protection for such a controversial figure. There is concern that Amin's residency in London will attract militant Islamists. In the 1980s and 1990s, Britain largely operated an 'open-door' policy allowing extremists to live in exile in London to escape persecution from authoritarian regimes in the Arab world.

Muslim soldiers to visit British schools to counter Islamophobia
In the wake of the killing of Lee Rigby, serving Muslim soldiers are to be sent into schools around the country to counter Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...

Muslim servicemen and women will be asked to address school assemblies with their Christian colleagues in parts of the country that have seen a significant increase in religious hate crimes. They are likely to include past and present Muslim soldiers who have served in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as some who were wounded.

The visits will also be coordinated around school activities to mark the centenary of the First World War next year in which hundreds of thousands of Muslim soldiers fought and died for Britain.

Earlier this month David Cameron visited a mosque in Manchester where a young white Muslim convert described how attitudes to her had changed as a soon as she covered her head with a veil. She told him of feeling hostility from people in the street and in shops, which she had never encountered when she was uncovered. Another woman said she and her friends sometimes "avoided" going into town for fear of abuse over the way they dressed.

Around 650 Muslim soldiers are currently serving across the British armed forces, including many in frontline roles.

Before unleashing Hasan at Fort Hood, his higher-ups had him practice his anti-kafir “craft” on damaged soldiers in the venerated VA system, the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, to be precise. A mother whose son was left to the mercies of the major described him as scary, inappropriate and without empathy.

Instructed to “make a presentation on a medical topic of his choosing as a culminating exercise of the residency program,” Hasan came up with this: “The Quranic World View As It Relates To Muslims In The U.S. Military.”

#3  "In the wake of the killing of Lee Rigby, serving Muslim soldiers are to be sent into schools around the country to counter Islamophobia"

So moderate Muslims are rewarded with an opportunity for school Da'wa after a massacre committed by non-moderate Muslims.

"She told him of feeling hostility from people in the street and in shops, which she had never encountered when she was uncovered."

Oh Boo-Hoo-Hoo!
Islam is, among other things, a totalitarian political ideology. The veil is a symbol of said ideology. By wearing the veil she is in fact telling the "people in the street" that she wants to impose a political system on Britain where the "people in the street" would be 5th or 6th class slaves.

#7  Felt kinda bad about that rickety little limerick. Y'all deserve better than that. Let's try again:

O woe is me, I wail!
Just let me wear my veil.
We only want to live in peace
(and who'll care if we start with Greece?)
We're just like you, we're humble folk
Who work all day and love a joke
And in the evening have a dram
Or anything that's not haram...
Okay, so mostly we stay in
But hey, since when is that a sin?

We only wish for peace on earth
Where every woman knows her worth
And gals who fool around are slaughtered
And some old coot will buy my daughter
But first, since it's her graduation,
Let's celebrate - with mutilation!
I really hope to see you there,
But please conceal your face and hair.

We only want to get along
We are so weak, you are so strong.
It might be different when we're through,
But now you're many, we are few.
So trust me, when the tables turn,
Your churches are too cute to burn,
And you don't use them anyway,
So we'll just borrow them, okay?

We only want to live as free
As Allan wants us all to be
So all can worship as they please
As long as they can pay the fees.
And infidels whom Allan loathes,
Will please wear tokens on their clothes,
And kindly cease to advertise,
Or else we might put out their eyes.

We only want to live our life
And cut your head off with a knife
If you disdain our Holy Book
Or say the Prophet was a kook
Or worship Sun or Earth or Moon
Or draw an incorrect cartoon
Or laugh at a Satanic Verse
Or voice an un-islamic curse
Or have a beer or sing or dance
Or strut around in saggy pants
Or other things I can't remember -
Do them and you'll be dismembered.

So now I hope that you can see,
We want to live in harmony
Where all God's creatures are connected,
Cherished, guided, and protected.
We wish to coexist with you
(as long as you are not a joo).
So thanks for reading, apes and swine -
Come on in, the water's fine!

63 percent of all Mexican state's police have been certified

Rantburg.com

With a little more than two months to go to November, 63 percent of all state police police in Mexico have been certified, according to Mexican news accounts.

According to data supplied by Animal Politico news website, 98 percent of all federal police agents have been certified, while 34 Mexican states and entities have lagged behind.

When the administration of President Enrirue Pena Nieto came into office last December, the new Secretaria de Gobierno (SEGOB) or interior minister Miguel Osorio Chong decreed that all police in Mexico, from the federal level to the municipal level would be certified by October 31st or would lose their jobs.

According to the news report, the deadline was extended by the national Chamber of Deputies last year after having been imposed for the same month in 2012.

The Mexican state with the highest percentage of police agents certified is tiny Colima on Mexico's west coast with 3,194 police at 99.53 percent of the total. The Mexican political entity with the highest number of police with the best percentage is Distrito Federal with 105,334 police at 89.34 percent certified.

Only one northern border state is in the top five percentage with Nuevo Leon at 84.73 percent certified of the 15,623, at number four. Sonora state is seventh with 82.86 percent certified with 11,424 police.

On the other end of the scale, two border states are in the bottom ten with Tamaulipas dead last at 39.19 percent certified of 10,303 police, and Chihuahua state with 51.47 percent certified of 15,405 police.

Rounding out the border states, Coahuila stands of 11th with 74.79 percent and 7,250 police, and Baja California at 16th with 68.92 percent and 13,804 police.

The data on police totals are certification percentages from Mexico's Secretariado Ejecutivo del Sistema Nacional de Seguridad Publica (SESNSP).

Group says Coahuila government fudged homicide stats
For a map, click here. For a map of Coahuila state click here.
Coahuila state attorney general kicks the ball onto the fairway and hopes no one notices.

The Coahuila state Procuraduria General de Justicia del Estado (PGJE), or attorney general changed the statistics of homicides for the first six months of 2013, effectively lowering the number by 44 total, according to Mexican news accounts.

A news report which appeared on the website of Animal Politico quoted Marco Zamarripa, director of Consejo Civico de las Instituciones saying that the state government had retroactively changed homicide totals reported to the Sistema Nacional de Seguridad Publica to show a decrease for the first half of 2013.

The news account cited three months in which the reported numbers do not "correspond with reality". For example in January the total murders reported went from 43 to 24, in February, 26 to 21 and March 31 to 25.

According to a separate report which appeared on the online edition of El Siglo De Torreon news daily, the Coahuila state PGJE only reported incidents of murder, not the total actually killed.

How about if you are the Captain in command of your Company? Ready to give that Order and accomplish the Mission? Look your men in the ye and motivate them.

Ready to fight to set the suffering Moslems free? yeah? How free are the Moslems in Iraq...and they just love us and thank us and are we ready to do it again?

#10  Pretty simple:no boots on the ground. C3I decapitation of the Syrian Govt, AND AlQ in Syria, arm the Kurds, and then get the popcorn going. Destroy WMDs, and destroy any organized group backed by either alliance (Russian/Iranian/Norks or Soddys/Turks).

The time to do this was long ago, back when the rebels still had some liberty-minded folk at thier leadership tables. Instead Obumble dicked around until most of htem were killed, and Al Qaeda and other radical (Muslim Brotherhood anyone?) group moved into the vacuum.

There are not winners in this one, only survivors. Key is to weaken any surviving group to where it cannot effectively take power, nor take possession of any WMD in the Bekka or other places. Sustained internal civil war fueled by various internal hatreds and armed by outsiders. Thats about the "best" outcome for now for anyone except the poor bastards in Syria.

... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to extend their full cooperation in bringing peace in the restive part of Pakistain.

"Tell me the peace formula you applied in Punjab for Balochistan," an insider of the meeting told Dawn.com while quoting a conversation between Dr Baloch and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif regarding deteriorating law and order situation.

Dr Malik Baloch thoroughly discussed worsening law and order situation in Balochistan with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and other high ups during his recent visit to Islamabad.

The CM Balochistan discussed all ways and means with the prime minister to restore durable peace in the militancy-hit province.

"If you cannot completely solve the issue, please help us in decreasing the volume of sectarian incidents," Dr Malik Baloch requested the prime minister.

However,
a lie repeated often enough remains a lie...
the insider of the meeting said that the prime minister was silent when Dr Baloch asked about the peace formula, which has been applied in Punjab.

Housing Minister Ariel: Two-state solution is unrealistic, will never happen
A two-state solution is an unrealistic resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Housing and Construction Minister Uri Ariel said on Sunday evening as he helped dedicate two new neighborhoods of 160 homes in the West Bank settlement of Kedumim.

“Those who are here understand why the vision of two states is unrealistic and will ever happen. Those who think they can force us to build only within the Auschwitz borders are wrong,” Ariel said.

Hamas denies setting up training camps with Egypt's Brotherhood in Gaza
[Al Ahram] Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,, the Paleostinian Islamic resistance movement, has denied establishing joint training camps with the Moslem Brüderbund in southern Gazoo.

Samy Abu-Zuhra, Hamas spokesperson, said in a presser Sunday.

"The movement expresses its deep discontent with Egyptian media reports about establishing joint training camps for Al-Qassam hard boyz and Moslem Brüderbund members in southern Gazoo."

Abu-Zuhra added: "Hamas denies these allegations and considers them as lies inciting against our Paleostinian people and resistance forces, as well as justifying the unjustifiable campaign against [Egypt-Gazoo border] tunnels and the almost permanent closure of the Rafah crossing."

The presser comes after Egyptian military spokesperson Ahmed Ali announced on Friday that security forces killed 78 suspected Islamic hard boys, including 32 foreigners, in recent operations in Sinai. The exact nationalities of the foreigners has not been declared.

Hamas, which controls the Gazoo Strip, is the Paleostinian offshot of the Moslem Brüderbund.

Key U.S. lawmakers: Expect strike in Syria
[SECURITY.BLOGS.CNN] Two key members of congressional foreign affairs panels say they expect the United States to strike Syria following reports of chemical weapons attacks in that country last week, though other politicians interviewed Sunday cautioned that unilateral action would be misguided.

"I think we will respond in a surgical way and I hope the president, as soon as we get back to Washington, will ask for authorization from Congress to do something in a very surgical and proportional way. Something that gets their attention, that causes them to understand that we are not going to put up with that kind of activity," Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee, the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said on "Fox News Sunday."

As I said yesterday:

Al Qaeda has long been developing a chemical warfare program. There are a significant number of Syrian rebels, besides al-Nusra, allied with AlQ.
Arab groups have long situated weapons and weapons facilities among the population. Arab groups have also used the population as props, like in Gaza and Egypt.

It's not all that far a stretch to consider any chemical attack in Syria as not automatically done by the Syrian government.

Charbel: Same Assailants behind Ruwais, Tripoli Bombings
[An Nahar] Caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel stressed that the security forces are doing their utmost in order to thwart attempts to create strife in Lebanon, reported the Kuwait daily al-Seyassah on Sunday.

He told the daily: "The same perpetrators are behind the Ruwais and Tripoli bombings."

He also voiced his fears that more bombings will take place in Lebanon, saying that some difficulties are preventing authorities from imposing security throughout the country.

"No country in the world can completely ensure its own security," clarified Charbel.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the assailants and arrest them, he added.

"Strife is being devised for the whole of Lebanon and not just the region," he said.

Powerful car bombs exploded outside two Sunni mosques in the northern city of Tripoli on Friday.

The first bomb struck in the city center at the al-Salam mosque as worshipers were still inside. The second explosion struck just minutes later outside al-Taqwa mosque, about two kilometers away, near the port.

Caretaker Premier Najib Miqati announced that the explosions killed 35 people and wounded 900 others, including 110 in a critical condition.

A bombing shook the Ruwais neighborhood in Beirut's southern suburbs on August 16, killing 27 people and wounding 336 others.

Intelligence Branch Investigating Tripoli Bombings
[An Nahar] State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr tasked on Sunday the Army Intelligence and ISF Intelligence Bureau with investigating the bombings in the northern city of Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
.

They will be responsible for carrying out the preliminary investigations, gathering evidence, and sweeping the scene of the blast sites.

He called for carrying out DNA tests on the remains of the unidentified victims of the Friday's bombings.

In the meantime, the army had stepped up its security measures in Tripoli in light of the twin bombings, reported the National News Agency on Sunday.

It said that it set up checkpoints at the entrances of the city and within its neighborhoods and main squares.

The army inspected vehicles and the identification papers of the drivers.

Meanwhile,
...back at the buffalo wallow, Standing Buffalo drew a bead on his old enemy and squeezed the trigger...
the Higher Relief Council began inspecting the houses that were damaged by the Taqwa mosque blast.

The Ogero telecommunication company began checking the telephone lines that were damaged in the bombing near al-Salam mosque.

Activists have been busy cleaning the scene of the blasts and removing the rubble.

Mustaqbal
... the Future Movement, political party led by Saad Hariri...
MP Bahia Hariri paid a visit to the city, including the blast sites, where she condemned the attacks, linking them to the one that took place in the Ruwais area in Beirut's southern suburb on August 16.

"Those committing such crimes are seeking to target the whole of Leb," she remarked.

"They are targeting the country's diversity and it is time that the Lebanese people live in peace and security," she declared.

Powerful boom-mobiles went kaboom! outside two Sunni mosques in Tripoli on Friday.

The first bomb struck in the city center at the al-Salam mosque as worshipers were still inside.

The second kaboom struck just minutes later outside al-Taqwa mosque, about two kilometers away, near the port.

Judicial sources told An Nahar daily Sunday that the corpse count reached 45 with at least 500 maimed.

Moscow Warns West against 'Tragic Mistake' in Syria
[An Nahar] Military action against the Syrian regime would be a "tragic mistake", Russia said Sunday, warning the West not to preempt the results of a U.N. probe into alleged deadly chemical attacks.

Moscow warned there was a danger of history repeating itself a decade after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, which it opposed, and urged the United States to refrain from any reckless decision.

"We strongly urge those who, by attempting to impose their own results on the U.N. experts, are raising the possibility of a military operation in Syria to use their common sense and refrain from committing a tragic mistake," foreign ministry front man Alexander Lukashevich said in a statement.

"All this is reminiscent of events from a decade ago, when the United States bypassed the U.N. and used fallacious information on the presence in Iraq of weapons of mass destruction to launch an adventure, the consequences of which are known to all," he said.

Syria chemical attack evidence may have been destroyed: Hague
[Al Ahram] British Foreign Secretary William Hague on Sunday warned that any evidence of a chemical attack by the Syrian may regime may have already been destroyed. Violence could spin out of control in Lebanon: Analysts
[Al Ahram] Analysts fear violence will spin out of control in Syria's neighbor Lebanon after deadly bombings struck Sunni and Shia areas of the country a week apart and killed dozens of people.

The 29-month war in Syria, once the power broker in Lebanon, has already spilled across the border, pitting supporters of the Damascus regime against its opponents.

"It is very likely that there will be more car bombs and other terrorist attacks all over Lebanon. There is nothing to prevent it," said Fadia Kiwan, head of the political sciences department at Beirut's Saint Joseph University.

According to her "there is a fifth column operating in the country" whose protagonists are linked to the Syrian conflict.

Pope Urges World to Help Find Solution to War in Syria
[An Nahar] Pope Francis appealed Sunday to the international community to help find a solution to the civil war in Syria while denouncing a "proliferation in massacres and atrocities" there.

"It's not confrontation that offers perspectives of hope to resolve the problems but the capacity to meet and hold a dialogue," the pope said after traditional Sunday prayers.

"I launch an appeal to the international community to be more sensitive to this tragic situation and to commit itself to the maximum to help the dear Syrian nation find a solution to a war which spreads destruction and death," he said.

"I continue to follow the situation in Syria with suffering and worry," he said.

He denounced the "increase in violence in a war between brothers" and the "proliferation of massacres and atrocities."

The Syrian opposition has alleged that Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Before going into the family business Pencilneck was an eye doctor. If he'd stuck with it he'd have had a good practice by now...
's regime carried out a chemical weapons attack near Damascus last Wednesday that killed hundreds of civilians. Syria denies the charges.

"The terrible images of these days again causes me to raise my voice so that the sound of weapons stops," the pope said without mentioning the chemical weapons claims.
