#5 One has to assume that all workplace web visits are monitored. Only a complete idiot would use a work computer/network to look at dodgy stuff.

#6 At my company, we have a built in filter - it blocks all kinds of things. If you go to a "forbidden" web site, you get a warning, and you DON'T get to the web site. This technology has been around for a long time. Why the heck isn't it (or something similar) installed on all government computers?

Note: if you have a business need to get to a web site, you can enter a justification, and after review by security, you might be granted access.

I'm willing to bet SEIU has made sure their members are not prevented from doing union work on the taxpayer's dime. Management probably doesn't what to know what they are doing...

Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
