Are we living in a 'post-truth' society?
[American Thinker] Has our society transitioned to a period of "post-truth"...and if so, what does it mean, where is it taking us, is it permanent, and can we fight it?

The online Cambridge Dictionary definition of "post-truth" is "relating to a situation in which people are more likely to accept an argument based on their emotions and beliefs, rather than one based on facts."

Given this definition, I personally believe that much of the United States has transitioned to a "post-truth" society, and many of us will become casualties of this new paradigm before harsh reality steers our nation back to an "objective truth"—based decision-making.

How many times have you heard someone use the phrase "my truth is..."? This phrase is at the core of a "post-truth" society as it replaces a singular "objective truth" with many truths based on individual emotions. The danger of this type of thinking can be illustrated by imagining yourself wrongly accused of murder, and your jury is filled with people who believe in "my truth" instead of "objective truth." In this world, the prosecutor need only appeal to the feelings of the jury as opposed to proving your guilt to a rational jury with the evidence.

We are our emotions, so if they do not inform us of the truth, what use are they? I believe that, as humans, we learn to make better and faster decisions over our lifetime by processing events and their outcomes such that our intuition is informed by truth. The more traumatic an event, the longer the processing takes. Our brains churn through our recollections and inform our intuition of the truth of the event. Later, our "gut feel" enables us to react to similar events with quick decisions that minimize our trauma. Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome is caused by events so traumatic that the brain cannot process them, such that our intuition cannot be informed how to direct us to avoid a similar trauma in the future.

What caused our society to reach this tipping point? I believe that truth is dying from a thousand little cuts and these cuts are a purposeful strategy to destroy our society and groom a population so it can be manipulated through feelings. I will mention a few below (I am sure the reader can come up with dozens more):

Lee Knight founder of VHE movement sez 'Death to humans!'
[HOT AIR] Lots of people want to save the Earth, but most of them are concerned about a deteriorating environment leading to human misery and extinction.

Les Knight, the founder of the Voluntary Human Extinction movement, wants human beings to go extinct in order to save the planet from us.

It is an unusual point of view, if not exactly unique these days. In his decades of arguing for the death of the human species he has picked up quite a few followers and garnered more than his share of attention. And with the world crossing the 8 billion population record for the first time, The New York Times decided to do a profile. I have to admit it was interesting on a number of levels and worth a read.

It’s not often one reads a profile of an actually happy person who wishes the human race would die off, and Les is apparently a happy-go-lucky guy with a bizarre preference for Gaia to people.

Schadenfreude - Violent crime comes to Martha's Vineyard. And guess why, it seems the island has a massive unreported change in permanent residence demographics!?
[AmericanThinker] The previously unimaginable has happened: tjhe storybook island of Martha's Vineyard, the seasonal home of billionaires and hundreds of elite cultural and political movers and shakers, not to mention one of three year-round homes of the Obamas, has finally experienced that rarity previously limited to the mainland: violent gun crime. And surprise: The alleged perpetrators are not MAGA white nationalists. Rather, evidence so far points to migrants, possibly of the illegal kind.

This is a bitter pill for most Vineyard residents to swallow. The island's six towns have all declared themselves to be sanctuary communities. Last September, the island rallied (AKA virtue-signaled) around fifty illegal migrants who were flown there at the direction of Florida governor Ron DeSantis — before they were bussed and ferried off the island less than two days later.

A VIOLENT WAKE-UP CALL
Last Thursday, November 17, minutes after it opened for the day, a small bank in the island town of Vineyard Haven was invaded by three armed masked men. They threatened, subdued, and duct-taped the employees and proceeded to make off in a stolen car with an undetermined amount of cash — after brandishing semiautomatic handguns to intimidate the bank personnel.

Nothing like this crime has ever been seen on Martha's Vineyard. Previously, the crime rate on the small island off the southern coast of Massachusetts was almost nonexistent, confined to things like DUIs and the occasional passing of a bad check. But now, like many other blue communities that have declared themselves to be sanctuaries for illegal aliens, things are changing.

This island-wide welcome mat has resulted in the presence of hundreds if not thousands of migrants, who now seem to be close to outnumbering the American citizens — most of them working- or middle-class — who reside year-round on the island. This radical and sudden demographic shift has been largely ignored by the island's news media.

DEMOGRAPHY IS DESTINY
A recent visit to Martha's Vineyard, which has a year-round population of about 20,000, illustrated the profound demographic changes taking place on the island. Making the rounds there this fall at one of the island's six food markets, for example, a majority of the shoppers — and even the store personnel — were obviously recent migrants, virtually all of whom were not speaking English. Most of the immigrant couples in the store had several young children in tow, communicating with them in their native language. Presumably, all of these kids are now being educated in island schools at taxpayers' expense.

This observation stands in radical contrast to the situation on the Vineyard only two or three years ago, when the population was overwhelmingly made up of English-speaking native-born Americans. For example, the Martha's Vineyard Commission, in a report published in 2019, put the white population of the island at 88.1%, Black or African-American 3.7%, and Hispanic or Latino 1.7%. Those statistics have been turned on their head based on observations of the island earlier this month.

As we know, increased, unregulated, illegal migration from third-world countries is associated with rising crime rates, and now Martha's Vineyard appears to be no exception.

Anthony Fauci Claims the ‘Real Danger' Will Be Among the Unvaccinated This Winter
[Breitbart] Dr. Anthony Fauci is sounding the alarm again, contending that the "real danger" will be among the unvaccinated this winter.

Speaking at his final White House press conference before stepping down as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Chief of the NIAID Laboratory of Immunoregulation, and Chief Medical Adviser to President Joe Biden, Fauci sounded the alarm, not only urging testing and vaccination but contending that the "real danger" will be among unvaccinated Americans.

"But the people who are most at risk are the unvaccinated. I mean, we have — 68 percent of our population is vaccinated. You know, that means that we have 32 percent of the population that’s not," he said.

That data coincides with the findings of September’s survey from The Economist/YouGov, indicating that three in ten Americans have not received a coronavirus jab. Fauci, however, cited general data, asserting that unvaccinated individuals are more at risk for hospitalization or death. However, he did not mention the growing instances of vaccine-related complications, including "the relative incidence of cardiac-related death among males 18-39 years old within 28 days following mRNA vaccination," as detailed by a Florida Department of Health analysis, leading the state to update its guidance on mRNA vaccines, recommending against them for men under the age of 40.

"And if you look at the data, they are just profoundly striking of the curves of death and hospitalization of unvaccinated versus vaccinated versus vaccinated and boosted," Fauci claimed, adding, "So, there is a relatively smaller difference in vaccinated and unboosted versus vaccinated plus boosted. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get boosted."

"But the real danger is in the people who have not been vaccinated. So, that’s where we expect — if we’re going to see a problem this winter, it’s going to be among those people," he said, echoing early rhetoric from President Biden, who last year falsely asserted that "you’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations." Yet, at that same town hall event, Biden admitted that vaccinated individuals can catch the virus.

Ukrainian Consequences: The New American War Model-Peter Zeihan

The new American model of fighting wars is here, at least for the next 20 years. Since the global war on terror left a sour taste in Americans' mouths, putting boots on the ground isn't an option.

The Ukraine War has proven that Americans don't need to show up in numbers (special ops is a different story); instead, they can play benefactor from a distance. The American's technical support and advanced infrastructure will enable the productive advancement (in America's eyes) of wars across the globe.

So when it comes to American involvement in wars, it would appear they CAN eat their cake and have it too.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
How a lightly-sourced AP story almost set off World War III. The propaganda multiplier news agency published a one-source, one-sentence report claiming that Russia had launched a deadly missile strike at NATO, despite evidence that it was Ukraininan.
[ResponsibleStatecraft] A deadly explosion in Poland kicked off hours of near-gleeful speculation about whether NATO would join the fight against Russia.

At approximately 1 pm EST yesterday, reports emerged that a pair of rockets had slammed into a quiet farming town in Poland. The tragic blast killed two locals, marking the first time that the war in Ukraine bled over into NATO territory.

Western officials now widely agree that the Russian-made S-300 rockets were launched by Ukrainian forces as part of their ongoing effort to counter Russia’s attacks on their infrastructure. But that conclusion came after a long day of finger-pointing, with many leaders in politics and media using the blast as an opportunity to condemn Moscow and call for a swift response, up to and including the invocation of NATO’s collective defense pledge.

To put it more bluntly, a lot of people spent yesterday calling for war between the world’s two largest nuclear powers.
Remember everyone: if you express skepticism, you're in the pay of Putin. You're nothing but an asset of the FSB.
The incident gives a unique glimpse into how moments of crisis, which are often marked by limited information and strong emotions, create the conditions for rapid escalation, according to George Beebe of the Quincy Institute.

"We’re all walking close to the edge of a disaster, and the United States should not be confident that we won’t be pushed over that edge by forces we can’t control," said Beebe, who previously led the CIA’s Russia Analysis Group.
According to the internet, he worked there for a quarter century, finishing up as Vice President Cheney’s first term Russia advisor — if I understand correctly, that’s make him part of the team that was surprised by the fall of the Soviet Union. I imagine the question is what he learned from the experience.
In order to better understand this dynamic, it is helpful to take a closer look at yesterday’s events.

The first indication that something had gone wrong in Poland came at 12:38 pm EST, when Reuters reported that Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki had called an emergency meeting of his national security team. Shortly after 1 pm, a flurry of Polish media outlets revealed that the rockets were the reason for the emergency gathering.

The first images of the blast quickly started to emerge, prompting some analysts to point out that the debris looked an awful lot like an S-300 rocket, part of a Soviet-era missile defense system that Kyiv continues to use today.
Russia has been selling them to anyone who’ll buy them, though they haven’t proved effective in Syria when the Israeli Air Force comes calling. Nor have the S-400s, which is suggestive.
But at 2 pm, just as it had started to become clear that Russia was an unlikely culprit, AP News published a one-sentence, one-source story that would prove remarkably consequential: "A senior U.S. intelligence official says Russian missiles crossed into NATO member Poland, killing two people."

Within minutes, prominent media personalities had already started to call on NATO to invoke Article V, which mandates that member states meet to determine a collective response whenever one of them is attacked. (It is worth noting that, contrary to popular belief, Article V does not prescribe a rapid response, and Congress would likely have to approve such a move.)

At 2:10 pm, Nika Melkozerova, a Ukrainian journalist with a significant following in the West, tweeted "So.. article 5?" Melkozerova softened her comment 20 minutes later, calling on concerned parties to "wait for official information."

But Lesia Vasylenko, a member of Ukraine’s parliament, had no such compunction. The lawmaker simply tweeted out the phrase "Article 5" at 2:29 pm, adding later that Russian President Vladimir Putin was "testing the limits" with the strikes and that "reaction=appeasement."

Paul Massaro, a prominent American supporter of Ukraine and member of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, said around the same time that "Russian terrorism" had reached Poland, adding shortly after that it was "[h]ard to believe this was an accident."

Some NATO leaders seemed to follow in Massaro and Vasylenko’s footsteps. "Very concerned by Russian missiles dropping in Poland," tweeted Slovakian Defense Minister Jaroslav Nad at 2:46 pm. "Will be in close contact with [NATO allies] to coordinate [a] response."

A "senior European diplomat" echoed Nad in a Politico piece, saying that it was "appalling to see a desperate regime attacking critical infrastructure of Ukraine and hitting allied territory with victims." (The diplomat did hedge by noting that the author of the attack was not yet confirmed.)

The Pentagon’s spokesman had the misfortune of having already scheduled a press conference for 2 pm, when little was known about the blast. "I don’t want to speculate when it comes to our security commitments and Article 5," Patrick Ryder said, noting that he could not confirm AP’s report. "But we have made it crystal clear that we will protect every inch of NATO territory."

The boilerplate promise to defend "every inch of NATO territory" earned an outsized response.

Given Russia’s purported senseless attack on NATO, nothing less than the organization’s very credibility as a collective defense organization was at stake.

Or at least that is what Anders Aslund of the Atlantic Council argued at around 3:30 pm. In a message aimed directly at President Joe Biden, Aslund said, "You have promised to defend ’every inch of NATO territory.’ Are you going to bomb Russia now?" He added that Biden’s first move should be to establish a no-fly zone in Ukraine before "clean[ing] out the Russian Black Sea fleet."

At the same time, Sergej Sumlenny, a prominent European policy expert, implied in a viral tweet that the attack was an intentional extension of Russia’s assault on Ukrainian infrastructure.

Shortly after, Mykhailo Podolyak, one of the top advisors to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, declared that the strikes were "not an accident, but a deliberately planned ’hello’ from [Russia], disguised as a ’mistake.’"

Russia denied the claim, saying that "[n]o strikes on targets near the Ukrainian-Polish state border were made by Russian means of destruction." But, somewhat understandably for many of Ukraine’s supporters, Russia’s word no longer holds much purchase.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba responded at 4:35 pm that Moscow "promotes a conspiracy theory that it was allegedly a missile of Ukrainian air defense" that hit Poland. "No one should buy Russian propaganda or amplify its messages," Kuleba added. Around the same time, Zelensky tweeted that the "Russian attack on collective security in the Euro-Atlantic is a significant escalation" of the conflict.

Luckily, the Biden administration didn’t take the bait. Despite the sharp words from Kyiv, U.S. and Polish officials maintained that the origin of the missiles was unclear and insisted that they needed more time to investigate the incident. At 7 pm, Biden, who is currently in Bali for the G20 conference, offered "full support" for Warsaw’s investigation following a call with Polish President Andrzej Duda.

Speculation and calls for escalation continued to run rampant as officials from across the West held emergency meetings. It took until nearly midnight for AP News to finally report that "[t]hree U.S. officials said preliminary assessments suggested the missile was fired by Ukrainian forces at an incoming Russian one amid the crushing salvo against Ukraine’s electrical infrastructure Tuesday."

Even after this news emerged, Podolyak maintained that NATO should enact a no-fly zone in Ukraine, which would likely require Western pilots to fight their Russian counterparts directly, putting four nuclear-armed nations at war. Kyiv continues to deny that it fired the missiles.
Of course they did. This was an attempt to widen the war. Duh.

In whose interest is widening the war? Certainly not yours. You're going to pay for it, and your relatives and friends will come back with blown-off limbs and permanent PTSD damage. But remember, this is a better outcome than being called a Putin puppet by ghoulish deep state warmongers.

If America is not the world hegemon, someone else will be. It won’t be Russia, which can barely hold the line in Ukraine. China believes they are our inevitable replacement — how much would we enjoy a world where it’s CCP puppets as far as the eye can see? Or jihadis rampaging nearly unopposed, as they now do in portions of France, England, and Scandinavia, to mention just a few examples? I don’t like war, and goodness knows our recent wars have not been organized to win, but I am not at all keen on the outcome of sitting on our hands and watching the world do as it wills. Neither Joe Bidens as far as the eye can see, nor Malmo, the Paris suburbs, and entire neighbourhoods in England where devout Muslims set the tone sound like the kind of peace any here would enjoy while quietly tending our own vine and fig trees.
This morning, Biden disputed Ukraine’s line, saying it was "unlikely" that the missiles came from Russia. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also declared that there is "no indication this was the result of a deliberate attack" but added that Russia holds ultimate responsibility for the attack given Moscow’s invasion and continued attacks on Ukrainian cities.

The trajectory of events starting from the initial report about the missiles hitting inside Poland highlights the difference between U.S. and Ukrainian interests when it comes to direct NATO involvement in the conflict, according to Beebe.

"There is a clear divergence of interests on that score, and the Biden team was appropriately cautious about gathering the facts about what happened and not rushing to judgment about potential retaliation," he said.

In the end, the voices calling for calm won out over their more hawkish counterparts. But the incident serves as a stark reminder that misinformation spreads fast in moments of crisis, which can result in dangerous escalation. This makes it all the more important that major outlets like AP News get the story right the first time, as journalist Ken Klippenstein argued on Twitter.

"This is why journalists are supposed to verify information before they report it," Klippenstein wrote.
Journalists are the enemy of the people.

There are various units - from assault to artillery and medics.

While you are thinking, be sure to watch the movie (https://t.me/rtdru/827 ) RT about Wagner PMC

By the way, I draw attention to the RT film about Wagner. Even five years ago, here in the comments they proved to me that there is no Wagner PMC in Russia and I post various inventions. And now PMC "Wagner" is advertised on the main buttons of the country. So much has changed in the past five years.

Regarding the recruitment announcement itself, I can say for sure that the quality of training of Wagner personnel is higher than that of ordinary mobilized ones, which, by the way, is explained by the fact that Wagner is actively involved in assault operations and there untrained or poorly trained people only interfere.

#3  Wagner is hardcore. It is well established what happens if you flee. I am pretty sure I heard them say to accept your fate in their recruiting vids. To their credit, they dont recruit rapists and pedos from the prisons.

The new hope for Germany? – Dr. Alice Weidel
by Pascal Najadi

[The Sirius Report] Germany is currently walking into the biggest socio-economic crisis since WW2. But there is a new North Star on the horizon and her name is Dr. Alice Weidel. She is a young and dynamic banker and economist that also speaks Mandarin. Alice leads the German conservative AfD party with courage and cleverness to new heights. Who is she and what makes her so special amidst the failed Scholz government?

Germany under Scholz’s leadership has been suffering loss of credibility and economic punch never seen before since the second world war. Its foreign policy has been focused since February 24th 2022 entirely on Ukraine and its energy security has been destroyed ever since. The de-industrialisation and decimation of its middle class is in full swing. The German public loses confidence as their standard of living gets more and more compromised by a ruling coalition that is out of touch with reality. To make matters worse, a targeted sabotage on Nordstream 1 & 2a executed by a foreign government killed the option to secure energy for the winter that is demanding gas to heat German homes and to drive German industrial production.

Scholz and his crew either seem to be immune or mentally challenged to admit that there are serious socioeconomic challenges hitting Berlin in full force. They give the impression that foreign issues matter more than their own at home. One cannot escape from this reality, it’s visible through all layers of German society and there seems to be no one willing or courageous enough to change course within the Scholz administration. To make matters worse, Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said on November 21st, "We will not leave Moldova in the cold nor in the darkness", making reference to Moldova’s energy challenges through the winter of 2022. Germans are beginning to wonder where their government is that is supposed to work in their interests.

And here is the rising North Star, Dr. Alice Weidel, the young leader of the German conservative party AfD and a member of the Bundestag in Berlin. She has been with her party for 10 years, knows every inch and corner of the AfD by heart and has quit an impressive banking career to save her country. The opposition resorts to demonizing her because they are completely lost by their inability to intellectually respond to Weidel’s drive, charm and success. They have no new ideas to present and no arguments to debunk the truth that Weidel presents with vigor in the Bundestag. Her speech at the Bundestag on September 7th was epic and many observers were impressed by Weidel’s clarity, rhetoric and elegance on display, talking tough and honestly about the deplorable state of affairs in Germany. She advocates peace negotiations and normalisation of relations with the Russian Federation with the withdrawal of sanctions to secure badly needed energy for Germany.

The North Star has arrived and most are unable to grasp its clarity, honesty and the power it beholds. Weidel represents the new generation, albeit a rare species in Germany, that builds on integrity, honest and clear communication with its sovereign, the citizens of this most important nation within the EU. Money seems to be unimportant for her as she has quit her successful banking careers at Goldman Sachs, the Bank of China and Allianz Finance. Fear seems not to be part of her vocabulary as well as weakness but she is intelligently careful on many fronts yet remains curious enough to satisfy her thirst for more knowledge. Alice Weidel is the rare example of a humanist that benefits from both an academic intellect merged with emotional intelligence.

Her party AfD is undergoing big change, one that is becoming visible but will be on full display going forward. Perhaps the AfD is realizing that with the leadership of Weidel there can only be one winner and this is Germany and its people from all walks of life and the German industry. To unite is never easy but there is a fair chance for success if tried by being bold and daring and it looks that this is just one of the many leadership qualities of Alice Weidel, the new hope for Germany. As Konrad Adenauer once said: "First make yourself unpopular, then you will be taken seriously". Weidel is quite unpopular, with the opposition and the current failing government and they are starting to take her seriously. This is perhaps the nicest compliment for a young, intelligent and dynamic leader that wants to bring real change to the people in Germany.

Government Corruption
Kari Lake is fighting electoral theft in Arizona. Where is the GOP?
[American Thinker] As elections wrapped up, there are probably a lot of people in Washington and its swamp saying that's all over, let's move on.

But in Arizona, the top Republican gubernatorial contender has not conceded. She has rightly filed a lawsuit. And her case for a full do-over of Arizona's travesty election has got to go through if there is to be any justice.

The extended counting, the weirdly broken voting machines, the lost voting time, and the suspected uncounted ballots really does scream of electoral fraud, complete with the person in charge of the counting, just, by coincidence of coincidences, somehow coming up the winner.

Any questions why 80% of voters, according to one poll, say there was fraud in this past election?

Arizona's gubernatorial candidate, the quick-witted and popular Kari Lake, has reason to think so Her election was basically stolen, yet we aren't hearing a peep out of the GOP in Washington about it.

Yes, stolen elections happen -- GOP Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin once told me several years ago that he had one stolen from him. Yes, candidates sometimes say their elections were stolen when they are unhappy about the results -- see Stacey Abrams of Georgia.

But in Arizona, the fraud and signs of fraud were pretty obvious.

Ballot machines that worked the night before in Maricopa County, Arizona's biggest, suddenly didn't work the day of the vote, failing to count votes. Hey, just a technical glitch, right? The number of machines affected, contrary to media reports downplaying the issue, was according to this report, as high as 60%. Voters were told to put their uncounted ballots into "Box 3" and just trust that they'd be counted later. Nobody has shown proof or even given a straight answer as to whether or not they were. Ballots ran out and someone "forgot" to put printer ink in the machines -- a minimum-wage office skill -- making ballots impossible to read.

A judge refused to provide extra time for voting based on the lost time due to election organizer incompetence, and voters were told they could hunt around for another polling place to vote in -- hoping that the one they pick didn't have the same problems. Many voters on tight schedules simply couldn't do that and ended up not voting. Lake has called this voter suppression and who is to argue with her? By this analysis, the lost time would have provided Lake with the margin of victory based on the rate of countings.

US government mouthpiece the New York Times admits that NATO imperialists are using Ukraine as a laboratory to test new weapons and technology. The military-industrial complex makes more and more money while Ukrainians and Russians die.

Sick, sick, sick. They're deliberately prolonging a war causing tremendous human suffering just so they can have a testing lab. It's what the Nazis did in Spain in the 1930s.

Copying the Nazis. Who on Earth cheers for the military-industrial complex? They're ruling us like a dictator and we may not resist what they want.

Don't get even, get MAD
[AmericanThinker] It is high time to rectify this situation and introduce into the American body politic a mutual-fear pact. Only concern for their own skin will ensure that the Left keeps their worst impulses in check. Therefore, it is absolutely imperative for the new Republican Congress to go all out on delivering the pain to the Democrats. Every step over the line the Left has taken over the past few years must be met with equal if not greater force. There needs to be investigations into every act by every high-ranking Democrat official, no matter how small. There needs to be subpoenas sent to every Democrat activist, politician, consultant, anyone with any finger in any Democrat pie. Just recently the Supreme Court ruled that the Democrats can access President Trump's tax returns. Okay, Congress should now subpoena Biden's, Obama's and Clinton's (both of them) tax returns, throwing in Pelosi 's for good measure.

#2  The problem with the Paul Ryan speakership was that we failed to hold our own chumps accountable. Their biggest fear is that we will figure out that McConnell and Schumer have colluded to sell us out. Once we have seized control on the apparatus from the precinct level on up, they are toast. Control of the voter rolls and election apparatus is more important than Congressional dinner theater.

The Voting Morons
[American Thinker] You know the story: a man wakes up after a century-long bout of suspended animation to find... orbital colonies? Contact with aliens? Cheap universal fusion power? Nope — he finds a culture inhabited by ill-dressed goons speaking in monosyllables, with no understanding of history or the natural world or anything else, surrounded by shoddy, fake technology. The president is a dreadlocked idiot. The average IQ hovers around 65.

Sure... you know that one. It’s Idiocracy, the comic film from 2006.

Except that it isn’t -- it’s "The Marching Morons," a 1951 short story by C.M. Kornbluth. That’s where the producers of Idiocracy got it, without acknowledgement, knowing that the current run of morons wouldn’t recognize it.

The theme and most of the details are identical: the intelligent and educated failed to reproduce, leaving the world to be populated by the subnormal. Except that while Idiocracy is slapstick comedy, "Morons" is high tragedy — in fact, tragedy of the highest sort, one that mourns the loss of an entire civilization.

The people running Kornbluth’s moron society behind the scenes are highly intelligent and preternaturally decent. But they’re at the end of their string. They know that their society is reaching a state of collapse, and they know what must be done. But they can’t force themselves to do it.

But then the hero awakens. He’s from the 20th century, one of the most brutal epochs on record. And he’s an experienced ad man, Don Draper in person, able to persuade anybody to do anything. In short order, a solution is in the works that will rid the world of the bulk of the morons... and it even pays for itself!

We’ve haven’t reached the state of Idiocracy or "Marching Morons" as of yet. But from the evidence of the midterms, we’re a good halfway there.

We now have two mentally damaged individuals in high office in this country, neither able to function as an independent adult. How did they get there? By being elected... with the addition of other means. But it was the votes that created a situation where those "other means" could work.

In other words, the moron vote played a large role. Tens of millions of voters who can’t recognize a mentally crippled individual when they see one. Who witness electoral cheating in front of their eyes as clearly as that of a three-card monte dealer but don’t see it for what it is. Who simply can’t make the connection between the close of critical pipelines and gas costing six bucks at the pump. Who could not define "inflation" at gunpoint, don’t understand that it’s always caused by government policy, and view it — if they view it at all — as something of an act of God. Who have utterly forgotten the peak state that this country enjoyed only two years ago. Who think "we’re going to make you eat bugs," is a joke. Who are easily persuaded, easily manipulated, easily confused, and easily run into the slaughterhouse.

How did it get this way? In truth, the term "morons" isn’t strictly accurate. Many — even most — of these people are of average intelligence, and should be able to figure their way out of a rat maze with little problem. The difficulty arises due to the fact that they have been relentlessly dumbed down for the better part of a century by an utterly corrupt educational system backed by bureaucrats and pols acting in full approval of the process.

This started with the progressive reformer John Dewey, probably the most influential educator on record. Starting at the turn of the 20th century, Dewey set about to remake the entire educational system, at that point largely consisting of small, decentralized schools staffed by graduates of normal colleges.

It’s possible to access the curricula for those 19th-century prairie schools. Younger children were introduced to Greek and Latin, in the later grades joined by a modern language, were introduced to geometry and algebra early, with calculus for the older children. Literature was taught by accessing the highest canonical works. In other words, grade-school children were easily mastering topics that most college postgraduate students today would find impossible.

#1  There are stupid people but if we were spiraling into a nadir of real life Sponge Bob episodes the ratings at CNN and MSMBC would be trending upward. Voters are getting wise to the truth of progressive lies. The polling data is showing that the long pendulum swing towards crazy has switched directions. The results issue currently is caused by the powerful having control of the voting process. They won’t have that grip much longer.

Southeast Asia
A MACV-SOG Thanksgiving: When 6 commandos took on 30,000 enemy troops
[Sandboxx] Thanksgiving Day, 1968.

As families across America gathered together to enjoy their Thanksgiving dinner in the chill of late fall, a six-man team of commandos from covert special operations units were fighting for their very lives against 30,000 North Vietnamese troops in the jungles of Southeast Asia.

The six commandos belonged to MACV-SOG, a highly classified special operations unit that conducted some of the most harrowing missions in the Vietnam War.

The Military Assistance Command Vietnam-Studies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG) was a special operations organization that conducted covert cross-border operations in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, North Vietnam, and elsewhere.

From 1964 to 1972, MACV-SOG took the fight to the enemy with an enviable grit, resolution, and guile, often turning up in the most unexpected places.
