-Lurid Crime Tales-
Migrant repeat offenders viciously attack cops
[NYPOST] A pair of migrants with rap sheets jumped and pounded an NYPD cop who tried to stop them and their crew from shoplifting at an Upper East Side Target, police and sources said Tuesday.

Yusneiby Machado, 23, and Brayan Freites, 21, were among the group of six migrants who allegedly yanked $82 in items off displays inside the store on Third Avenue near East 70th Street on April 2, the sources said.

They left a trail of destruction as they snatched up a gaming light, a backpack, tools and assorted grub including Fruit Loops, Frosted Flakes, Doritos, strawberries and bottled waters, cops and sources said.

When responding cops from the NYPD’s 19th Precinct stopped the crew, all from Venezuela, in their tracks, Machado and Freitas allegedly wrestled, shoved, slapped and pushed them in an attempt to resist, according to the sources.

The wild struggle left one officer with swelling, redness and pain on his left arm, cops said.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

Another suspect — who has not been caught — tried to throw rocks at the officers, but they were not struck, the sources said.

Both Machado and Freites were charged with robbery, assault, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, criminal possession of stolen property, disorderly conduct and harassment, cops said.

They were arraigned before Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Jay Wiener — and treated with kid gloves.

Machado was cut loose without bail under supervised release, despite a request from prosecutors that she be held on $10,000 bail.

Prosecutors asked that Freites be held on $10,000 bail or a $30,000 bond, and Wiener ordered him held on $3,000 bail or a $9,000 bond.

He was still at Rikers Island on Tuesday.

Their alleged partners in crime, Sebastian Jaramillio, 22, Michael Sanchez, 31, and Henry Zambrano, 19, were also arrested and charged by cops with robbery and disorderly conduct, police said.

All three — who lived at the Ward’s Island shelter, per sources — were later arraigned on petty larceny and possession of stolen property charges and released without bail.

“No job is routine, no call for service is routine,” Deputy Inspector Neil Zuber, commanding officer of the NYPD’s 19th Precinct, told neighbors who gathered later that night for the precinct’s community council meeting, according to the Upper East Site.

“Every time these officers respond, and they’re confronted with a crime, they’re gonna do everything they can to make that arrest.”

At least 40 Shaboobs toes up in Somalia battle
[Garowe] al-Qaeda's network in Africa; the al-Shabaab
...... Somalia's version of the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...

, suffered immense losses on Monday following an operation conducted by the Somali National Army (SNA) with the help of members of the international partners, who are closely working on Somalia’s state-building project.

A report by the state media revealed that at least 50 al-Shabaab bandidos bully boyz were killed in central regions within Harardhere in the Mudug region. If confirmed, this would be the heaviest loss to the bandidos bully boyz this year in the Horn of Africa nation.

The Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
targeted Barag Garguurte village which is located at least 20 kilometers from Harardhere, a town that is frequently under al-Shabaab raids. Harardhere was recently captured by the bandidos bully boyz after the abrupt exit of SNA soldiers.

Among those killed in the airstrike was Ahmed Jiis, a senior member of the group who has been coordinating attacks against government officials, security teams, and innocent civilians. His elimination was termed as a 'huge success'.

"Over 50 members of al-Shabaab terrorists, including the notorious leader Ahmed Jiis, were eliminated in a precise airstrike conducted by the National Armed Forces, with backing from international security partners," read the statement.

"The successful operation was aimed at a Death Eater convergence located in Baraagta-Gurguurte, in proximity to the Harardhere district of the Mudug region," state media further reports.

The attack in Barag Garguurte coincided with most of the areas in the southern part of the Mudug region being under the control of the al-Shabaab group. The government has heightened operations against al-Shabaab bandidos bully boyz throughout Ramadan.

Interestingly, the US embassy in Nairobi announced alerts on possible al-Shabaab attacks within Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. Since then, security teams have been activated across the country to deal with impending threats.
An earlier Garowe article adds:
It is not clear who fired the drone strike but multiple international partners - at the Somali Federal Government's request - have conducted aerial bombardments against the Al-Qaeda-linked terror group.

The airstrike hit the remote village which is exactly 20 kilometers from Harardhere, a town that is frequently under Al-Shabaab attacks. The town was recently retaken by the militants after Somali National Army withdrew from the area.

A statement from the federal government confirmed the airstrike on Monday, noting that the militants had been gathering within the area potentially to plan an attack against security forces and innocent civilians in the region.

"These days, the Khawarij have been bringing vehicles into the area. The airstrike destroyed army vehicles and killed members of the terrorists. Three vehicles were also burnt," the statement added.

The government did not specify the number of militants killed in the airstrike but mentioned that the group suffered a significant loss. The al-Shabaab militants have not stated concerning the latest losses in the country.

Somalia has increased the intensity of the fight against Al-Shabaab militants with over 4,000 losing lives recently after several operations. The second phase of operations against the group is set to kick off in southern regions either Jubaland or Southwest states being the targets.

Drone strikes hit Eastern Sudan's Gedaref
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Drone attacks rocked the border city of Gedaref on Tuesday morning, targeting the headquarters of the General Intelligence Service and an army site. This incident comes amid heightened tensions between the Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
ese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Gedaref, located near the Æthiopian border, has become a haven for over 400,000 displaced people fleeing violence in Khartoum and Gezira states. The dronezaps add another layer of instability to the region.

At approximately 9:30 am, three drones reportedly approached the city from the northwest, buzzing over residential areas. One drone crashed into the mosque at the General Intelligence Service headquarters in the al-Mutamaf neighbourhood, injuring a security officer and a civilian bystander. Thick smoke billowed from the targeted site.

Sudan’s 2nd Infantry Division’s anti-aircraft defences successfully shot down a second drone near the Gedaref Model School, while another drone targeting the National Service headquarters met the same fate.

No group has grabbed credit for the attacks.

Following the incident, a heavy security presence, including troops from the army, police, and General Intelligence, deployed across the city, including the Grand Market. A Sudan Tribune journalist observed a convoy of General Intelligence vehicles heading west out of the city.

This unprecedented attack marks a significant escalation in the volatile situation in Sudan. Gedaref, previously considered a safe haven amidst the military conflict, has now been thrust into the spotlight.

Moroccan protesting Israel ties, war in Gaza given five-year prison sentence
[IsraelTimes] Moroccan court ruling comes after recent mass pro-Paleostinian demonstrations against Israeli ’massacres’ in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...

An activist muppet who criticized Morocco’s decision to normalize relations with Israel was sentenced to five years in prison, as some of the Arab world’s largest pro-Paleostinian protests continue to sweep the country.

Abdul Rahman Zankad of Mohammedia, Morocco, was arrested in March after posting on Facebook about the Israel-Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", war and Morocco’s 2020 decision to establish diplomatic ties with Israel, the Moroccan Space for Human Rights said in a statement.

A court on Monday found him guilty of insulting a constitutional institution and incitement. He was also fined 50,000 Moroccan dirhams ($5,000). The civil liberty advocacy group, which organizes the legal defense of protesters, called the charges baseless and said the proceedings violated Zankad’s right to a fair trial.

Tens of thousands of protesters across the political spectrum have taken to the streets in Morocco to denounce Israel and express support for Paleostinian groups, including Hamas. The protesters have criticized Israel’s allies, including the United States, and chanted demands for the government to "overturn normalization."

Morocco was one of four Arab nations to establish ties with Israel in 2020, as part of the US-brokered Abraham Accords, which led to both the US and Israel recognizing Morocco’s claim over the disputed Western Sahara.

The fledgling rapprochement between the North African country and Israel had made steady progress since 2020, but that has been thrown into reverse by the deadly Israel-Hamas conflict.

Authorities have allowed protests, with few exceptions, including not allowing a recently planned rally at a northern Moroccan university. Some members of parliament have backed their demands. Both the Foreign Ministry and the Royal Palace have issued statements denouncing the war and expressing solidarity for Paleostinians in Gaza, but have not signaled any intent to cut ties with Israel.

Pro-Paleostinian demonstrations had declined in recent years in Morocco, but have surged since the Israel-Hamas war broke out. This past Saturday saw thousands of people demonstrating in Morocco’s commercial capital of Casablanca against what they termed as "massacres" carried out by Israel in Gaza.

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza claims that more than 32,000 Paleostinians have been killed by Israel in the Israel-Hamas war, but the number cannot be independently verified and is believed to include both Hamas snuffies and civilians. The IDF says it has killed over 13,000 button men in Gaza, in addition to some 1,000 snuffies who were killed inside Israel on and immediately following October 7. The IDF has lost some 260 soldiers fighting in Gaza.

Morocco’s constitution generally allows for freedom of expression, although it is illegal to criticize the monarchy or King Mohammed VI, and those who do can face prosecution. Human rights associations have raised concerns about a rise in prosecutions stemming from online posts in recent years.

Zankad is a member of Morocco’s Al Adl Wal Ihsane, a banned but tolerated Islamist association that has been a driving force behind many of the country’s protests since the war began.

On Monday, the group said his sentence "only serves to solidify the certainty that we are in a state riddled by authoritarianism and tyranny."

"We condemn this unjust ruling in the strongest terms. It is a continuation of the unjust rulings targeting opponents from Al Adl Wal Ihsane, journalists, and leaders of the Rif Movement," it added, referencing a 2016 protest movement whose leaders were later sentenced and imprisoned.

The group has also condemned the prosecutions of other opponents of normalization. That includes Said Boukioud, who in November was sentenced to three years in prison for insulting the king in a series of Facebook posts about normalization.

It also includes 13 protesters who were arrested in Sale, Morocco, in November for incitement and organizing an unauthorized demonstration after they blocked the entrance to the French grocery store Carrefour. In Morocco and elsewhere, the chain has faced boycotts since its franchises in Israel announced they were providing food to Israel’s military last year.

Their case has not yet been decided.

Security forces kill two terrorists in South Waziristan IBO
[GEO.TV] Security forces killed two hard boyz during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s South Wazoo district, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

"On 09 April 24, security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in South Waziristan District," read a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During the conduct of the operation, the ISPR said two hard boyz were successfully neutralised and "sent to hell" following an intense fire exchange.

Weapons along with a large quantity of explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area, it added.

"Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as security forces of Pakistain are determined to wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the country."

On Sunday, security forces killed two hard boyz during an exchange of fire that took place on the night of April 6 and 7 between the security forces and hard boyz in North Waziristan, as per the military's media wing.

Similarly, security forces neutralised 10 hard boyz in two separate intelligence-base operations in KP's Dera Ismail Khan

and Panjgur district of Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
, the ISPR said in a statement on April 6.

During the first quarter (Q1) of 2024, KP and Balochistan provinces accounted for over 92% of all fatalities and 86% of attacks (including incidents of terrorism and security forces operations), according to a The News report.

These were the key findings of the Q1 2024 Security Report issued by Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS). Pakistain witnessed 432 violence-linked fatalities and 370 injuries among civilians, security personnel and outlaws resulting from as many as 245 incidents of terror attacks and counter-terror operations. This includes 281 fatalities among civilians and security forces personnel

Individually, KP suffered 51% and Balochistan 41% of all fatalities in Q1, 2024. The data indicates that the remaining regions were relatively peaceful, suffering less than 8% of all fatalities.

Yahya] Sinwar surprised Israel on Oct. 7, they succeeded in undermining the physical security of people in Israel. And at the same time, on the digital level, by the order of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...
, cyberattacks by Iran and Hezbollah in the region and beyond started around the clock against Israel," said Portnoy, head of the Israel National Cyber Directorate, at the 10th global Cybertech conference in Tel Aviv.

"The attack intensity is higher than ever before with Iranian and Hezbollah groups cooperating to attack Israel in every sector," he added.

Portnoy disclosed that the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s Intelligence Ministry has civilian proxies conducting cyberattacks against Israeli targets under the guise of a tech company, working from an office building in the heart of Teheran. The civilian hacking squad affiliated with the Iranian Intelligence Ministry and the Hezbollah-linked group, Lebanese Cedar, was behind the cyberattack on Ziv Medical Center in the northern Israeli city of Safed in November.

The cyberattack failed to disrupt the hospital’s operations, but the hacking group managed to extract sensitive medical information.

In the first three months following the October 7 Hamas-led massacre in southern Israel, the number of cyberattacks Israel experienced was 2.5 times higher than in previous years, with a total of 3,380 incidents recorded, according to the National Cyber Directorate’s annual report for 2023. During the period, about 800 of the cyber assaults were categorized as having "significant potential for damage," according to the report.

Portnoy also spoke about the hacking squad’s recent attempts to damage various sectors in Israel, including academia, tourism, media, finance, transportation, health, government, and technology. Despite increased cyber operations during the war, it did not succeed in inflicting substantial economic damage, he said.

"I strongly recommend every hacker especially those working for Iran to think about the potential implications of cyberterrorism against Israel or its allies — even if you are doing it from a civilian office at the heart of Teheran: We know you," Portnoy said.

Earlier this month, the Justice Ministry said it was looking into a "cyber incident" after activist hackers protesting against the war in Gaza said they managed to breach the ministry’s servers and retrieve hundreds of gigabytes of data

Speaking to an audience of cybersecurity experts and company and government representatives from 60 countries, Portnoy emphasized that in cyberspace there are no borders.

"Iran is trying to harm business continuity," Portnoy cautioned. "With one push of a button it is Israel, and tomorrow it can be anywhere else so we need to fight cyberterrorism together."

"In cyber matters, we need a common language between countries," he urged.

Also speaking at the conference, Gil Shwed, founder and executive chairman of cybersecurity giant Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., said that the number of Iranian and Hezbollah-backed cyberattacks has more than doubled since the outbreak of the war.

"We are seeing our enemies becoming stronger, with more sophisticated attacks, as the internet is an open market," Shwed noted. "A lot of innovation in cyberspace is coming from Israel but the market can’t absorb so many technologies."

"We need to consolidate the technologies and platforms and work together in cyberspace to block the attack, and prevent the damage," he said.

Israel blocking UNRWA food to Gaza since January; Israel says highest single day number of trucks enter the Strip since war began
The UNWRA is happy to be a wholly owned subsidiary of Hamas.

, said the UN agency for Paleostinian refugees, UNRWA.

It further said that access for the UNRWA is particularly strained with Israel blocking all its food convoys since March — and blocking all its food convoys to the north of the enclave since January, Al Jazeera reported.
Israel wants UNWRA out of the Palestinian Territories altogether. But there are lots of other groups available on the ground to deliver the goods.

Israel claims highest single-day number of aid trucks enters Gaza since war began

[IsraelTimes] Indonesia participates in massive airdrop marking end of Ramadan, in an apparent first time Muslim nation has flown through Israeli airspace; UNRWA disputes Israeli numbers

The highest number of trucks carrying aid entered the Gazoo Strip on Tuesday since the start of the war in October, the Israeli military said. It was further bolstered by an unprecedented airdrop of supplies, including from Indonesia.

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), the IDF unit responsible for liaising with the Paleostinians, said that 468 aid trucks had been inspected and transferred into Gaza on Tuesday, including 47 to the Strip’s battered north, which aid groups have said is especially difficult to reach. The overall number of trucks, COGAT said, was the highest since the war began, surpassing the previous day’s high of 419. Over the past three days, more than 1,200 aid trucks were inspected by Israeli authorities and entered Gaza.

However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
UN officials disputed the Israeli numbers.

"There has been no significant change in the volume of humanitarian supplies entering Gaza or improved access to the north," the UN agency for Paleostinian refugees said in its daily situation report.

Red Islamic Thingy officials in Egypt also gave different numbers, saying that more than 350 trucks had crossed from there into Gaza on Monday and 258 on Sunday. That was much more than in recent weeks when the number was usually fewer than 200, they said.

However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
UNRWA, the main United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
agency in Gaza, said 223 trucks had entered on Monday, fewer than half the 500 trucks it said are required daily.

The UN claimed the discrepancy came because many of the trucks are only half-full, inflating the Israeli count.

UN humanitarian agency (OCHA) spokesperson Jens Laerke said Israel typically counts the half-filled trucks going through an initial screening process, rather than repacked, full trucks for delivery inside Gaza.

"Trucks that go in, screened by COGAT, are typically only half full. That is a requirement that they have put in place for screening purposes. When we count the trucks on the other side, when they have been reloaded, they are full," Laerke said.

He claimed that Israel was still restricting most trucks from being able to move around.

"When you put up the statistical number of trucks going in and say, ’Look at all these hundreds of trucks coming in’ and you put it against ’Look how few trucks have actually moved around with distribution,’ it’s kind of an own goal, isn’t it," he said.

There was no response from Israeli authorities.

In addition to the trucks, COGAT said 303 packages carrying "hundreds of thousands of meals" were also airdropped over the Paleostinian enclave on Tuesday.

The BBC reported that Tuesday’s airdrop, planned to coincide with the end of Islam’s holy month of Ramadan, was the largest coalition airdrop to date during the war, with ten tons of food and water parachuted out of 14 planes from nine nations: the UK, US, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, the Netherlands, Germany, La Belle France, Jordan, and — unprecedentedly — Indonesia.

The planes assembled in Jordan’s capital of Amman, flying over Israel to the Gaza Strip. According to the Walla news site, this marked the first known time an Indonesian plane has entered Israeli airspace.

Indonesia, the world’s largest Moslem country, does not have diplomatic relations with Israel.

Its inclusion in the airdrop coalition is striking given Jerusalem had been said to reject a participation request from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
, with whom Israel maintains some degree of diplomatic relations. Turkey, incensed, announced Tuesday that it would restrict exports to Israel due to the decision.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pie fight, Bella went down under the weight of the custard...
the IDF said it had withdrawn further troops from Gaza.
USAID reluctantly agrees, in a classic “Yes, but” formulation. Update from the Times of Israel at 10:35 a.m. ET::
US Agency for International Development Administrator Samantha Power acknowledges humanitarian aid into Gaza had risen sharply in the past few days, and says the higher level of aid should be sustained and increased further.

“We are seeing a sea change, which we hope is sustained and expanded upon,” Power says at a hearing of the US Senate Appropriations subcommittee that oversees US diplomatic and foreign assistance spending.

“We needto go way beyond the 500 trucks,” Power says, referring to the amount of aid that entered the Strip before the war.

“We have famine-like conditions in Gaza and supermarkets filled with food within a couple of kilometers away,” she says at the hearing.

#3  Yes. If you wanted fighting to end you'd stop sending materiel into the fighting zones

#4  The whole point is to starve the Gazans out until they agree to be resettled, in Europe or USA or eherever. Food trucks don't help at all. They make the situation worse.

#5  ^That was the old plan. The new plan: since Hamas hogs all the food - soon they'll be too fat to walk, let alone fight.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Hamas financier Muhammad Ibrahim Sorour Tango Uniform

[Cradle] A Lebanese man accused of serving as a middleman for transferring funds from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to the Palestinian resistance in Gaza was found murdered in a town outside Beirut on 9 April.

Muhammad Ibrahim Sorour, 57 years old, went missing one week ago in the mountain town of Beit Mery, where he worked at a currency exchange shop. His body was found on Tuesday by Lebanese security forces inside a villa in the same town.

According to sources in the know who spoke with The Cradle, Sorour's body showed signs of torture — including bullet wounds in his feet and hands. Investigators also found thousands of dollars strewn around his body and two Glock 19 pistols submerged in bleach, along with clothes and gloves.
Goodness. Someone was enthusiatic about his work.
According to information obtained by the Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar, the villa had been rented to an unnamed tenant who "disappeared from sight."

Saudi news outlet Al-Hadath reported on Wednesday that the Israeli Mossad was behind his murder. Israel's Channel 12 news repeated the claim.

Sorour was sanctioned by the US treasury in 2019 for allegedly funneling "tens of millions of dollars" from Iran's IRGC Quds Force through Lebanon's Hezbollah to the armed wing of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the Qassam Brigades.

"As of 2014, Sorour was identified as in charge of all money transfers" between the Quds Force and the Qassam Brigades, the US Treasury claims.

Senior Hezbollah money changer found shot to death near Beirut
See also here.
[JPost] The security source identified the victim as Mohammad Surur who worked in currency exchanges and money transfers, including between Iran-backed terror groups opposed to Israel.

A Lebanese man sanctioned for allegedly funneling millions of dollars to Hamas was found dead in a mountain town outside Beirut, a security source told Reuters on Wednesday.

The security source identified the victim as Mohammad Surur and said he hailed from a northeastern town near the Syrian border and worked in currency exchanges and money transfers, including between Iran-backed terror groups opposed to Israel.

He was found dead in a house in the town of Beit Meri on Tuesday, with several gunshot wounds to his legs, the Lebanese security source said.

That, along with a large of sum money found on the body, led Lebanon's security forces to conclude that Surur had been subject to a violent interrogation, not attempted theft, the source added.

Surur was sanctioned in 2019 by the US Treasury, which said he had transferred "tens of millions of dollars per year" between the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' external branch, the Quds Force, and Hamas's armed wing the Qassam Brigades.

He would have been 57 at the time of his death, according to biographical details published by the Treasury.

The Treasury said in 2019 that Surur was also linked to Lebanon's Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas. Surur has been seen at public events hosted by Hezbollah in Lebanon but did not appear to have a formal or senior role directly within the terror group, a source familiar with Hezbollah's operations told Reuters.

Hezbollah has been exchanging fire across Lebanon's southern border with Israel in parallel with the Gaza war.

Militants kill five policemen in southeast Iran
[Rudaw] At least five Iranian coppers were killed on Tuesday in festivities with a Baluchi Death Eater group in the southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province, state media reported.

"This evening, a number of miscreants attacked a police patrol that was on a mission in Sib and Souran district, and unfortunately five coppers were martyred in this attack and one person was injured," Alireza Marhamati, deputy governor of Sistan and Baluchestan, told state media.

Jaish al-Adl (Justice Army), a Baluchi Sunni jihadist group operating across the restive, sparsely-populated border regions, grabbed credit for the attack.

Sistan and Baluchestan province, near the Pak border, is one of the only Sunni-majority provinces in Shiite-dominated Iran. There are a number of Baluchi gangs active in the area that carry out regular bombings and suicide kabooms.

Jaish al-Adl, has carried out a number of suicide attacks on Iranian security forces, killing dozens in the border areas. The group was added to the list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations in 2019 by the administration of former US president Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
.

The designation was in response to a deadly attack by the group on the IRGC, which killed 27 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) members near Sistan and Baluchestan’s scenic provincial capital of Zahedan.

Last week, Jaish al-Adl carried out one of their deadliest attacks in years, killing 16 members of Iranian security forces, including IRGC members, in Sistan and Baluchestan.

ISIS kills two SDF members in eastern Syria: Monitor
[Rudaw] At least two members of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were killed in an attack carried out by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) button men in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zor province, a war monitor reported on Tuesday.

"Two members of the Syrian Democratic Forces were killed in an attack carried out by ISIS cells with machine guns targeting a checkpoint ... in the town of Dhiban in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britannia-based war monitor.

It is the latest in a series of rising ISIS attacks in Syria, particularly in the vast expanses of its eastern and northern deserts where the group launches surprise attacks amid a security vacuum.

The button men were able to flee the area after carrying out the attack, according to the monitor.

ISIS rose to power and seized swathes of Iraqi and Syrian land in a brazen offensive in 2014, declaring a so-called "caliphate."

While the group was declared territorially defeated in 2017 and 2019 respectively, it still continues to pose serious security risks through hit-and-run attacks, bombings, and abductions, especially across the vast expanses of the Syrian desert as well as several Iraqi provinces.

The Kurdish-led and US-backed SDF, who control northeast Syria (Rojava), fought the lion’s share of the battle against ISIS and arrested thousands of the terror group’s fighters along with their wives and children when they crushed ISIS territorially and took the group’s last stronghold in Syria in 2019.

In late March, the SDF warned that ISIS still poses a threat to the world and the region as its defeat "requires dismantling its ideological breeding ground,"

"ISIS is still trying to recruit new terrorist elements, attempting to radicalize them into its ranks," said the SDF, calling on the international community to "collaborate effectively" with its forces.

On Wednesday, a member of Rojava’s internal security forces (Asayish) and another SDF fighter were killed in separate ISIS attacks in Hasaka province.

Israeli airstrikes target regime base in Daraa: Monitor
[Rudaw] Suspected Israeli Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s targeted warehouses belonging to the Syrian regime in the countryside of Daraa province, southwest of the country, a war monitor reported on Tuesday.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that the attacks were launched after midnight, targeting the town of Mahajjah. The warehouses stored weapons and ammunition belonging to pro-Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
militias, SOHR added.

The strikes led to the destruction of the weapons, said the monitor with no reports of casualties.

The attack comes a week after airstrikes, attributed to Israel, hit the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, killing at least seven people, including two generals of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Monday visited the consular building of his country's embassy in Damascus, and vowed that Israel will be "punished" for the deadly attack.

Israel has yet to comment on the attack on the embassy, while the Pentagon has denied any involvement.

Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes on regime-controlled areas of Syria throughout its nearly 13-year civil war, often claiming to strike pro-Iran militias such as Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
’s Hezbollah, which supports the Syrian army.

Israel has intensified its strikes on Syria since October 7. It has attacked Syrian territory at least 34 times since the start of the year, killing at least 141 people and wounding over 60 others, according to SOHR.

Update from the Times of Israel at 10:40 a.m. ET:
Israel says it hit Syrian army post being used by Hezbollah

The IDF says it carried out a strike against a Syrian Army position in southern Syria, near Israel’s border, which was identified as being used by Lebanon’s Hezbollah.

The IDF says it has intelligence indicating Hezbollah operatives used the Syrian Army site.

“The IDF holds the Syrian regime accountable for all activities which take place within its territory and will not allow for any attempted actions which could lead to the entrenchment of Hezbollah on the Syrian front,” the military says in a statement.

Meanwhile, strikes were also carried out against Hezbollah observation posts and other infrastructure in southern Lebanon in the past few hours, the IDF says.

Areas near Dhayra and Tayr Harfa in southern Lebanon were also shelled with artillery to “remove threats,” according to the military.

"All of Gaza's citizens paid a price with the blood of their children, including me," he was cited as saying.

Haniyeh, the chairman of Hamas's Political Bureau, lives in Qatar, alongside other members of Hamas's political leadership.
