Afghanistan
Prisoners kill 3 policemen in Jawzjan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Three coppers have been killed by the prisoners in northern Jawzjan province.

Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani, police chief of Jawzjan province while confirming the report told Khaama Press that the incident took place during an inspection.

He said a delegation visited the prison for inspection but the prisoners believed the delegation is taking them to Pul-e-Charkhi prison in Kabul and attacked the delegation.

He said three coppers were killed during the attack and a number of the prisoners were maimed.
An Nahar describes events thusly:
Rioting prison inmates in northern Afghanistan killed two coppers and set another on fire after taking them hostage Sunday, in a dramatic episode that left 20 others maimed before they attempted to escape, officials said.

The inmates attacked the police as they were conducting a search for knives, cellphones and other contraband in a prison in Shibirghan, the capital of Jawzjan, provincial police chief Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani told Agence La Belle France Presse.

"They first took three officers hostage and later killed two of them and mutilated their bodies," he said.

"They burned the third officer alive. He was taken to the hospital with around 75 percent of burns on his body and is in a very critical condition," Jawzjani said, adding that five officers were maimed trying to rescue their colleagues.

He said one prisoner was also killed and 15 were maimed after the prisoners tried to escape the compound.

Abdulhai Hayat, the head of Jawzjan's provincial council confirmed the details of the incident, and added that the local council and elders intervened to bring the crisis to an end.

"The situation is now calm, but the prisoners are on hunger strike," he said.

The prison compound holds around 800 inmates, both criminals and the Taliban from both Jawzjan and neighboring Sari Pul provinces.

Mali hunts jihadist nightclub killers as militants attack UN
[Hurriyet Daily News] Police in Mali March 8 hunted for the killers of two Europeans and three Malians in a jihadist attack on a nightclub, as a deadly assault on a UN barracks in the north heightened security concerns.

Officers in bulletproof vests patrolled the streets of the capital Bamako, where a masked gunman had burst into La Terrase, a popular venue among expats, spraying automatic gunfire and throwing grenades early Saturday.

Al-Murabitoun, a jihadist group run by leading Algerian bad boy Mokhtar Belmokhtar, has grabbed credit for the attack, which left a Frenchie, a Belgian and three Malians dead.

It said in an audio recording carried by Mauritanian news agency Al-Akbar the operation was carried out "to avenge our prophet against the unbelieving West which has insulted and mocked him".

As the investigation got under way, the UN's MINUSMA peacekeeping force said one of its troops and two civilians had been killed by gunnies shelling its barracks in the northeastern rebel stronghold of Kidal.

MINUSMA sources said the civilians were members of the nomadic Arab Kunta tribe who died as stray rockets landed at their nearby encampment.

It was not immediately clear who was behind the attack, although the Kidal is the cradle of northern Mali's Tuareg separatist movement, which has launched several uprisings from the region since the 1960s.

Tuareg and Arab militias -- loyalist and anti-government -- have forged a peace agreement with the Malian government formulated earlier this month in Algiers, but the main rebel groups are yet to sign.

"MINUSMA expresses its indignation at the cowardice of the perpetrators of these attacks, which also killed innocent citizens," the force said in a statement.

"MINUSMA strongly condemns these heinous acts of terror whose sole purpose is to thwart all ongoing efforts to establish lasting peace in Mali."

Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and other jihadist groups also carry out operations in the area, including the 2013 murders of French journalists Ghislaine Dupont and Claude Verlon

Arabia
Saudi Arabia becomes world’s biggest defense importer
[IsraelTimes] Iran's nuclear drive seen to propel arms race

Saudi Arabia has passed India to become the world's biggest arms importer last year as concerns about Iran's ambitions increase tensions in the Middle East. Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Count Guido stepped from behind the suit of armor, rapier in hand. Ciccolini snarled and reached for his own weapon...
Israel has dropped to the seventh slot among the top 10 arms exporters in the world, down from the sixth slot in 2014.

Saudi spending rose 54 percent to $6.5 billion last year, while India imported $5.8 billion, according to data released Sunday by IHS, a leading analyst of the global arms trade. Imports will increase 52 percent to $9.8 billion this year, accounting for $1 of every $7 spent globally, IHS estimated, based on planned deliveries.

"This is definitely unprecedented," said Ben Moores, the report's author. "You're seeing political fractures across the region, and at the same time you've got oil, which allows countries to arm themselves, protect themselves and impose their will as to how they think the region should develop."

Saudi Arabia is building its arsenal amid concern about a geopolitical shift in the Middle East as the United States looks for help in fighting the Islamic State group, said David Cortright, director of policy studies at the University of Notre Dame's Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies. Negotiators are nearing a deal to curb Iran's nuclear ambitions and lift sanctions against the country, which would create new opportunities for economic development and threaten Saudi Arabia's longstanding ties with the United States.

The biggest beneficiary of the growing Middle Eastern market was the United States, with $8.4 billion of arms shipments to the region last year, up from $6 billion in 2013. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates imported a combined $8.7 billion of defense systems last year -- more than all of Western Europe.

Boosting arms purchases may be a way for some elements in the Saudi government to remind the US of its importance as an ally because defense contracts translate into jobs that are critical to many communities, Cortright said. Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, all based in the US, were the three biggest arms exporters among companies last year, according to the IHS Global Defense Trade Report.

"It may be a way of tempering that rapprochement with Iran," Cortright said. "You can think of it as ... deepening ties in a time of uncertainty, as a possibly greater role with Iran looms on the horizon."

The Saudis are also worried about the rise of Islamic State and are cooperating with the US- led coalition.

"From an objective security perspective, Saudi Arabia should be cooperating with Iran to deter and push back ISIS in Iraq. The old 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' approach," Cortright said. "But Saudi Arabia has deep ideological and geopolitical differences with Iran that prevent it from considering such a temporary marriage of convenience."

A deal on Iran's nuclear program also may fuel the longstanding sectarian conflict between Saudi Arabia, where the Sunni branch of Islam is dominant, and largely Shiite Iran. Iran is actively supporting fighters in Syria and Iraq and is backing Iranian catspaws in Yemen, which toppled the country's government last month.

"We've all been waiting for the storm in the Middle East," Moores said.

Until recently, Saudi procurement programs were limited by the country's ability to use advanced systems, Moores said. But with a growing number of educated and technologically agile people, the Saudis can now make use of increasingly high-tech hardware.

Globally, trade in military hardware rose for a sixth straight year in 2014, pushing worldwide imports to $64.4 billion from $56 billion.

The US remained the biggest arms exporter, with shipments rising 19 percent to $23.7 billion. Russia ranked second at $10 billion, up 9 percent from 2013. La Belle France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italia, Israel, China, Spain and Canada rounded out the top 10. Israel, which was the sixth-largest exporter or arms in 2013, has dropped to the seventh slot.

India was the second-biggest defense importer in 2014, followed by China, the UAE, Taiwan, Australia, South Korea, Indonesia, and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

Europe
EU accuses Syrian man of buying IS oil for government
[ARA] The European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
has imposed sanctions on a Syrian businessman who it says bought oil for the Syrian government from Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
Lions of Islam who have seized wide areas of the country including its oil-producing regions.

The businessman, George Haswani, denied the accusation. He told Rooters by phone that the European Union had no evidence to back up the claim and should instead look for intermediaries he said were smuggling oil to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
on Islamic State's behalf.

Islamic State has seized much of eastern and northern Syria, including areas at the borders with Iraq and Turkey, declaring the territories part of its "caliphate".

Adding to its list of sanctions on supporters of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Before going into the family business Pencilneck was an eye doctor. If he'd stuck with it he'd have had a good practice by now...
, the EU said Haswani worked as an intermediary to agree oil contracts between Syria and Islamic State.

"George Haswani provides support (for) and benefits from the regime through his role as a middleman in deals for the purchase of oil from ISIL (Islamic State) by the Syrian regime," the EU said in its official journal without detailing how it reached its conclusion.

"He has close ties to the Syrian regime," the EU said, adding that Haswani also goes by the names Al Hasawani and Heswani.

Haswani's HESCO Engineering & Construction Co is a major business in Syria, the EU said. Haswani said his company builds oil and gas installations, and had worked in Algeria, the United Arab Emirates and Sudan.

Haswani told Rooters his company was currently building a gas installation in an area of central Syria that falls under Islamic State influence, adding "this is maybe how these fantasies were constructed".

Western officials have often accused the government of buying oil from Islamic State, but the EU announcement contains some of the most detailed public accusations to date and was welcomed by Britannia's Foreign Minister Philip Hammond.

"This listing gives yet another indication that Assad's 'war' on ISIL is a sham and that he supports them financially," Hammond said in a statement.

Haswani said he would sue the European Union.

Damascus accuses the Turkish government, which is hostile to Assad, of supporting Islamic State in different ways, including by allowing it to smuggle contraband out of northern Syria. Turkey denies the accusations.

10,000 'Europeans' could be waging jihad by year-end: France PM
[Hurriyet Daily News] As many as 10,000 Europeans could be waging jihad in Iraq and Syria by the end of this year, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls warned March 8, a three-fold increase on current numbers.
I'm sure their desire for martyrdom can be accomodated by the forces arrayed against them, especially now that "armor-piercing bullets" have been banned for homefront civilians.
"There are 3,000 Europeans in Iraq and Syria today. When you do a projection for the months to come, there could be 5,000 before summer and 10,000 before the end of the year," Valls told French television channel iTele.

"Do you realise the threat that this represents?" he asked.

He said there were around 1,400 people who were either already in these conflict zones, who had come back from there or who were planning to go.

"There have already been nearly 90 French people who have died out there with a weapon in their hand, fighting against our own values," Valls said.

La Belle France, along with Belgium, has seen the largest numbers of volunteers leaving to join the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), which has seized large parts of Syria and Iraq.

Last month, La Belle France seized passports from six of its citizens and banned 40 more from travelling abroad after they were allegedly planning to travel to Syria and Iraq.

It was the first time the measure had been used in La Belle France following its introduction as part of a raft of new counter-terrorism laws in November.

"We have to face a particularly high threat level in La Belle France, in Europe and in other countries," said Valls.

The corps was disbanded in 1916 following the Allied evacuation of the Gallipoli peninsula and the formation of I Anzac Corps and II Anzac Corps.

Footage shows group beating man wounded by bullet during Kobane protests in Izmir
[Hurriyet Daily News] Footage recorded by a police vehicle during last October's protests in the Aegean province of Izmir over the Islamic State

of Iraq and the Levant's (ISIL) advance on the Syrian town of Kobane has emerged, showing a group trying to lynch a man lying on the ground after being shot by a bullet.

Ekrem Kacaroglu, 38, later departed this vale of tears at hospital after being shot by unknown people while attending a protest on Oct. 7 against the Turkish government's perceived inaction over ISIL's attacks on Kobane.

As part of the probe into the killing of Kacaroglu, footage recorded by an armored police vehicle (TOMA) was revealed, showing a group that was reacting against the protesters attacking and beating the man, who was lying in blood surrounded by his relatives.

The footage was added to the file of the case into the murder of Kacaroglu, in which four suspects face life sentences.

Following the examination of security cameras to capture those responsible for the killing, four people, identified only by the initials K.A., M.K., R.A. and S.D, were detained. The four suspects have been released pending trial and the first hearing will be held by an Izmir heavy penalty court on March 25.

The “We” Apparently Doesn’t Include Bush: NY Times Crops George And Laura Bush Out Of Selma Pic
I suspect the cropping was done as much to keep The One, Cummings, and Chewbacca recognizably in the center. 50th anniversary and all that.

Looking at photos of the 60's shows far more whites then than now marching in the parade. Doubt this is anything but an "invitation" thing, but it conveniently maintains the narrative.

I've heard a number of would-be marchers backed out when they heard former President George W. Bush would be participating. Don't know if it's true, but it's certainly believable.
Update at 10:35: It is true, and a MLK lieutenant at that. See here.

Two: The vast majority of Americans at that time were outraged at what they saw and supported the civil rights movement.

I doubt if MLK would even shake hands with either Cummings, Holder, or youknowwho.

#4  A third conveniently forgotten fact:

A Federal District Judge name Frank Johnson, a republican appointed by republican President Dwight Eisenhower, had issued a temporary restraining order forbidding the march until a hearing on the State suit could be convened. Marchers defied the restraining order. Had the marchers complied with Johnson's restraining order, there was little doubt they could have soon marched in peace.

Judge Johnson was from Winston County, Alabama. Winston county was a republican, anti-slave enclave during the civil war. Johnson was wounded twice in combat in WWII.

It's her family foundation. That's where the money is: corporate money, foreign money, gobs of money sloshing around a vanity charity that could be renamed "Clinton Conflicts of Interest Foundation."
"...nexus..."? 'Dat sounds kinda serious.

The conversation will, eventually, turn to the hard-drive which, by now, is of recent replacement and contains data of no negative significance, either personally or relating to her sojourns.

Hope someone not-of-the-dark-side "[RAAAAACIIIIIST!!!!!]" knows how to trace a serial number to a production run.

World urged to declare rape, molestation in Held Kashmir a war crime
But not elsewhere, like Pakistani Kashmir?
[NATION.PK] Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmire (HCJK) has called for speedy justice to the victims of rape and molestation committed by the armed forces in different parts of Jammu and Kashmire since 1990, urging the international community to declare sexual and physical harassment of women in Kashmire as a war crime under international law.

"Expeditious justice should be delivered to the women who were subjected to rape and molestation by the armed forces operating in Jammu Kashmire since 1990 and guilty forces should be awarded exemplary punishment," the amalgam leaders including Mustaq-ul-Islam, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Shabir Ahmad Dar and Muhammad Iqbal Mir, in a joint statement on the International Women's Day Sunday, adding that all the pending cases of rape and molestation should be adjudicated at the earliest and guilty awarded punishment.

Iraq
Kurdish parliament votes to help freed Yazidis
[RUDAW.NET] The parliament of the Kurdistan region has earmarked funds to help Yazidi Kurds who have been recently released by ISIS holy warriors, a Kurdish politician says.

"Upon our request, the Kurdistan parliament has decided to help hundreds of Yazidis who managed to flee from ISIS fighters," Sheikh Shamo, a member of Kurdistan Parliament, told Rudaw.

Shamo said 165 million Iraqi dinar, or $141,685, would be reserved in the KRG budget to help the freed Yazidis.

He added that about 780 Yazidis have been released, but 3,000 are still in the hands of ISIS fighters.

Iraqi minister: concerns over IS looting third ancient site
[RUDAW.NET] Iraq's government is investigating reports that the ancient archaeological site of Khorsabad in northern Iraq is the latest to be attacked by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
turban group.

Adel Shirshab, the country's tourism and antiquities minister, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named there are concerns the bully boyz will remove artifacts and damage the site, located 15 kilometers (9 miles) northeast of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
. Saeed Mamuzini, a Kurdish official from Mosul, told the AP that the bully boyz had already begun demolishing the Khorsabad site on Sunday, citing multiple witnesses.

On Friday, the group razed 3,000-year old Nimrod and on Saturday, they bulldozed 2,000-year old Hatra -- both UNESCO world heritage sites. The move was described by UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon as a "war crime."

Khorsabad was constructed as a new capital of Assyria by King Sargon II shortly after he came to power in 721 B.C. and abandoned after his death in 705 B.C. It features a 24-meter thick wall with a stone foundation and seven gates.

Since it was a single-era capital, few objects linked to Sargon II himself were found. However,
women are made to be loved, not understood...
the site is renowned for shedding light on Assyrian art and architecture.

The sculptured stone slabs that once lined the palace walls are now displayed in museums in Baghdad, Gay Paree, London and reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...

Syrian regime coordinates military training with Yemeni Houthis
[ARA] A delegation from the pro-Assad Syrian National Defense Army visited Yemen last week through Beirut International Airport, private sources told ARA News.

"Such visits are aimed to increase coordination between the Syrian regime and the Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
group in Yemen to bring the latter's members in order to receive military training in Syria as well as exchanging security information between the two sides," a regime-linked source told ARA News on condition of anonymity.
Syria has better live fire training than Iran for some reason. No doubt at some point the Shia Afghans currently undergoing training in Iran will graduate to Syria, too.
Speaking to ARA News, the Syrian journalist Mazen Jerdi said that recently the social media networking sites published pictures of Khamenei, the Islamic Theocratic Republic guide, in the streets of the Yemeni cities, as well as pictures of Syrian president Bashir al-Assad which were raised by Houthi protesters there.

"It's no more secret that strong relations link the Houthis with both Iran and the Assad regime, and such mutual relations will definitely include military exercises under the direct supervision of Iranian authorities," Jerdi argued, pointing out that the Houthis will thus lead Yemen and will threaten the southern region of Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
as part of the strategic policy of Iran.

In the meantime, Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi told news hounds on Saturday that the capital Sanaa is currently occupied by the Houthis, and declared the city of Aden as Yemen's symbolic capital temporarily.

Lebanese pop star turned militant denies role in clashes
[RUDAW.NET] A former Lebanese pop star turned wanted Islamic Lion of Islam denied in an interview broadcast Sunday that he took part in deadly festivities with the military and said he wants to return to his "normal, natural life" with his friends and family.

The singer, Fadel Shaker, has been on the run since the bloody street battles between Sunni Moslem gunnies and the Lebanese army in June 2013 in the coastal city of Sidon. He faces charges of committing crimes against the military, and prosecutors have demanded the death penalty.

In an interview with Leb's LBC TV posted online Sunday, Shaker, clean-shaven and wearing a black suit, said he played no role in the festivities and never advocated bloodshed.

"I never participated at all in the battle," he said. "I never carried a weapon. Everybody knows that and the army knows it too."

LBC said the interview was filmed last week at the Ein el-Hilweh camp near Sidon.

The 2013 shootout, which pitted followers of hard-line Sunni holy man Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir against the Lebanese army, killed at least 18 soldiers and deepened sectarian tensions in Leb between Sunni and Shiite Moslems, who support opposing sides in the civil war in neighboring Syria.

The interview is Shaker's first public appearance since a video uploaded to YouTube on the second day of the street fighting in Sidon, and offers up a markedly different image of the former singer.

In the 2013 video, a bearded Shaker called his enemies pigs and dogs, and taunted the military, saying "we have two rotting corpses that we snatched from you yesterday" -- apparently referring to two slain soldiers.

Shaker became a pop star throughout the Arab work in 2002 with a smash hit. Almost 10 years later, he fell under the influence of al-Assir and shocked fans by turning up next to the hard-line holy man at rallies and later saying that he was giving up singing to become closer to God.

Terror Networks
French terrorist praises 'civilized' life under ISIL in new recruitment campaign
Yes, very civilized. Our French speaking staff is standing by to see to your every need.[Iran Press TV] As part of a new recruitment campaign, the ISIL terrorist group has released a video in which a French member tries to give a positive picture of life under the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
s' reign of horror.

The video released on Saturday shows a French man in his sixties speaking about his decision to join the ranks of ISL Takfiri turbans who have claimed the formation of a so-called caliphate in Iraq and Syria, the US-based SITE monitoring network reported.

"When I entered the land of the caliphate, I saw that there were different things, institutions, cleanliness, engineers, doctors, sensible people, people who left Europe, who left other lands from across the world to" come and fight alongside the ISIL, said the man identified as Abu Suhayb al-Faransi in the 15-minute video.

Faransi, reportedly a former army trainer and businessman, hailed the notorious ISIL leader Ibrahim Samarrai, also known as His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
, for establishing the "caliphate," adding the scheme was the most powerful incentive behind his joining the terrorist group.

The French national also lashed out at al-Nusra
...the current nom de guerre of al-Qaeda in the Levant, which isn't to be confused with al-Qaeda in Iraq and the Levant...
Front, the al-Qaeda's branch in Syria, for breaking ties with the ISIL.

Al-Nusra terrorists, along with ISIL and other Takfiri groups, have launched terror operations against Syria's legitimate government, killing thousands of civilians and security forces in the Arab country.

According to the SITE, the recent video is the first in a string of propaganda videos to be released in the future in an attempt to give a rosy picture of daily life under ISIL and lure western nationals to join the bad boys.

This is while many Westerners, who had joined ISIL in the past, expressed their disillusionment after they witnessed the heinous crimes perpetrated by Takfiris.

In January, the French prime minister announced that around 1,400 people from La Belle France have joined the ISIL.

Missing UK girls living with woman in Syria's al Raqqa
[Iran Press TV] Three British schoolgirls who left the UK to join ISIL Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
snuffies are thought to be staying at a house in the Syrian city of al Raqqa, report says.

According to a Sky News report on Sunday, the girls are apparently living with a British woman, who had been in contact with them and brought them through the border into Syria.

Police have so far refused to confirm reports that the girls are currently in Syria.

Shamima Begum, 15, Kadiza Sultana, 16, and Amira Abase, 15, who attended Bethnal Green Academy in east London, were reported missing on February 17.

Previously released CCTV images appeared to show the trio passing through a coach station in the Turkish city of Istanbul en route to the country's south east.

Football fields: A waystation en route to the Islamic State
[Hurriyet Daily News] One thing the biographies of Jihadi John, the Islamic State

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
's executioner of foreign hostages, and several of his European associates have in common is their passion for football and their dashed hopes of becoming professional players.
And the elder Tsarnaev brother's hopes for a pro boxing career were dashed on the jagged rocks of his inadequate ability.
They all belonged to amateur teams or bonded in part by playing football together. Like other disaffected youth for whom playing football became a stepping stone to joining a bad boy group or becoming a jacket wallah, Jihadi John and his mates traversed football fields on their journey. Their biographies highlight football's potential as a recruitment and bonding tool.
"If I can't be a footie hero and get lots of money'n'girls, I'm gonna to join the jihad and just take what I deserve." If that's really what's going on, it's a wonder hundreds of thousands of Westerners haven't joined ISIS. There are lots of passionate youth soccer players who never made the cut.
