[Tolo News] At least six Taliban bully boyz were killed and 13 others injured as a result of fierce festivities with the security forces on the highway between northern Jowzjan and Sar-e-Pul provinces, local officials said.

"One police was also killed and another one was injured in the attack." He said. "The fighting lasted for an hour."

today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday...
the Taliban have not commented so far in this regard.

The security situation in Sar-e-Pul ‎is deteriorating since the emergence of alleged Daesh fighters in the province.

Convicted pirates freed in Yemen prison attack reach Puntland
BOSSASO, Somalia -- Convicted Somali pirates who were freed in Al Qaeda attack on a prison in the Yemeni city of Mukallah arrived back in Puntland, recounting ordeals during the pre-planned assault, Garowe Online reports.

Speaking on VOA Somali Service on Saturday afternoon, Mahdi Isse said he was serving a sentence in the prison after he was convicted of taking part in high sea crime off the coast of Somalia. Isse added that he was among 45 Somali inmates held for various crimes, and pre-informed them about the attack: “We were informed that the prison will be attacked, once the assault commenced, we managed to escape”.
Through the hole in the prison wall. Check the pic at the link. I swear it looks like a movie set. Fred has definitely seen this one...
Meanwhile Abdullahi Ahmed, another Yemen prison escapee disclosed that four Somali prisoners were wounded during the operation: “Two of the four sustained leg fractures after they jumped over the long wall of the prison”.
How come they just didn't run out the hole?
Al though Somali pirates have long been jailed in Yemen, no independent sources confirmed the exact number of pirates set free in Al Qaeda operation.

Photographic image purporting to be senior Al Qaeda official Khalid Badrifi went viral on social media, with some posting as: “From Prison to Mukallah presidential palace”.

Founder of Islamist militant group Ajnad Misr killed: Police spokesman
[AlAhram] Hamam Mohammed, the founder of Ajnad Misr, was also a former leading figure in the group now know as Sinai Province, that pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group in 2014

The founder of Islamist Lion of Islam group Ajnad Misr (Soldiers of Egypt) and former leading member of Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis was killed in a confrontation with police forces, a spokesperson for Egypt's interior ministry said on Sunday.

Hamam Mohammed was hiding in a flat located in Giza's Haram district where he planned and prepared for attacks that targeted and killed coppers, General Hani Abdel-Latif said, according to Al-Ahram's Arabic website.

When Hamam became aware of the presence of the police forces that were about to raid his hideout, he shot up them before they shot and killed him, Abdel-Latif explained.

Hamam possessed an automatic firearm, a pistol, four bombs including one with a magnet so that it could be attached to a car, 18 incomplete bombs, materials used to make bombs and over EGP 76,000. He was wanted for a number of terror-related attacks.

Ajnad Misr has grabbed credit through social media for many of their Lion of Islam attacks that primarily targeted police forces over the past few months, mostly by planting basic bombs. The last operation they grabbed credit for was late last month when an improvised bomb detonated outside a metro station near Cairo University located in Giza.

Abdel-Latif outlined that Hamam was once a leading figure in the Sinai-based Lion of Islam group Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis, the group which has carried out many of the most violent attacks. It pledged allegiance to the Islamic State

group in November 2014, changing its name to Sinai Province.

Hamam parted company with Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis in 2013 to found Ajnad Misr.

He trained a number of bully boyz on bomb making, Abdel-Latif said, adding that his group targeted police and military personnel in 26 operations.
...many of which went kaboom without accomplishing anything more than that.
Ynet adds:
Security forces had been following the movements of Hammam Mohammed Attia, 33, and surrounded the residential high-rise building in a busy neighborhood before raiding it at dawn Sunday.

Ajnad Misr, or Soldiers of Egypt, has grabbed credit for a bombing on a bridge leading to an upscale neighborhood in central Cairo that killed a policeman and maimed at least two passers-by earlier in the day.

IS radio Al-Bayan said a Sudanese volunteer it named as Abu Dujana had carried out the attack on behalf of its Tripolitania branch.

The jihadist group, notorious for its brutal rule of swathes of Iraq and Syria, has established branches in all three of Libya's historic regions.

In February, the Tripolitania branch posted grisly video of the beheadings of 21 Christians, mostly Egyptians, prompting Cairo to launch retaliatory air strikes on jihadist targets in the North African country.

In January, the group claimed an assault on a luxury hotel in the capital popular with diplomats and officials in which at least nine people -- including five foreigners -- were killed.

Militants Kill Nine in Nigeria's Oil State
[ALMANAR.LB] Gunmen stormed two communities in Nigeria's southern oil state of Rivers, killing at least nine people and injuring two others a week ahead of a gubernatorial election, police said Saturday.Nigeria krazed killers

"It was about 19:30 hours (1830 GMT) of yesterday (Friday). Some unknown gunnies invaded Obrikom and Obor communities and went on a shooting spree," state police front man Ahmad Muhammad said in a statement.

Muhammad said an initial corpse count of six had risen to nine.
The assailants also set ablaze the house of a local politician, Vincent Ogbagu, who is a state parliament candidate in the April 11 election, he said.

Police were looking for the assailants, Muhammad said.
Elections for state governor and parliament are scheduled to take place on April 11 in about 30 Nigerian states, including Rivers and Lagos.

Obrikom and Obor are neighboring communities in Rivers, one of Nigeria's most restive states.

The oil-producing state has been controlled by president-elect Muhammadu Buhari's opposition All Progressives Congress since state Governor Rotimi Amaechi defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party last in 2013.

A curfew imposed in the state to contain unrest after the opposition disputed results from last weekend's general elections was lifted on Thursday.

Yemen Army, Ansarullah Make Fresh Gains despite Saudi Air Strikes
[ALMANAR.LB] Despite the Saudi air strikes, Yemeni army, supported by Ansarullah movement, made fresh gains in Yemen, capturing the provincial government headquarters in the southern city of Aden.

The resistance fighters advanced during the night to reach the central district of Mualla where they took the local seat of government including the governor's office, officials said.

The Yemeni army bombarded holy warriors' hubs in Mualla and inflicted heavy losses upon them.

Over two dozen people have reportedly been killed and several others maimed in a fresh wave of Saudi aerial attacks in Yemen, which also targeted a humanitarian aid convoy in the country's southwest.

Witnesses said the Saudi fighter jets on Sunday fired several missiles on two aid trucks that were heading toward the southeastern city of Taiz to distribute humanitarian supplies among crisis-stricken people, Yemen's al-Masirah satellite TV network reported.

Three people were martyred and nine others maimed in the attack, according to the report.

Separately, more than 24 people were killed after Saudi warplanes bombarded a region situated between the southern Yemeni provinces of Abyan
...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues...

Saudi warplanes also struck another region situated between al-Bayda and Shabwa provinces. There were no immediate reports on possible casualties.

Yemen rebels stage raids on suspected opponents amid Saudi-led airstrikes
[WASHINGTONPOST] Iranian catspaws stormed homes and offices across Yemen's capital, detaining more than 120 activists and political figures suspected of supporting the Saudi-led coalition in its Arclight airstrikes against the krazed killers, a rights group said Sunday.

The sweeps came as a senior rebel envoy was quoted as offering peace talks if the Saudi-led air campaign was halted, but opposition to the return of the country's president could block any move toward dialogue.

The rebels, known as Houthis, have tightened control over the capital, Sanaa, for months. But the latest detentions, which began late Saturday, appear to signal a wider effort to root out suspected opponents as the Saudi-led attacks have targeted krazed killer supply lines and ammunition depots but have largely spared populated areas.

The Sanaa Legal Right Center said at least 122 people were held by the rebels, including top members of the Sunni group al-Islah, which is active in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
and has ideological ties to Egypt's Moslem Brüderbund.

Ali Alfakih, deputy editor of al-Masdar newspaper in Sanaa, said similar raids were reported in other rebel-held areas, but details could not be confirmed.

An Islah leader, Fat'hi Alazab, was taken into custody at a mosque, said his brother, Rajab Mohammed Alazab.

"He was taken just like that, without even being accused of anything," he said. "It seems that this has to do with the political statement issued by Islah supporting the coalition war."

Yemen Rebels Advance in Battleground Aden
[AnNahar] Yemeni rebels made new gains in the battleground southern city Aden Sunday as a Saudi-led coalition trying to halt their advance faced growing calls for a humanitarian pause in air strikes.

The Red Thingy has appealed for an immediate truce to allow families to seek water, food and medical assistance, describing the situation as "dire."

Russia presented a draft resolution to the U.N. Security Council on Saturday calling for a humanitarian pause in the Saudi-led air war against the Huthi Iranian catspaws, now in its 11th day.

will raze 96 deserted border villages to prevent their use by infiltrators from neighboring Yemen, where the kingdom is leading air strikes on rebels, a report said Sunday.

Ten villages have already been demolished since a Saudi-led military coalition began air strikes on Shiite Houthis on March 26, the Saudi-owned Al-Hayat newspaper reported.

It cited the border guard chief in the area, Hassan Aqili, as saying that the move was to prevent the empty houses from turning into "a safe haven for traffickers and infiltrators".

The 15,000 inhabitants were resettled following a 2009-2010 conflict that saw Houthis cross into Saudi Arabia from their stronghold in northern Yemen.

The same rebels forced Yemeni President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi to flee the country to Saudi Arabia last month as they swept towards his southern refuge in Aden after seizing power in the capital.

Hundreds of ISIS fighters, suicide bombers holed up in Tikrit district
[RUDAW.NET] As Iraqi security forces fortify their control of Tikrit, they still wait for the battle with Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
over a remaining district where hundreds of ISIS fighters are still holed up.

"In Tikrit, the Qadisiya area is the only place yet to be liberated from ISIS," observed Jamil al-Ghazali, a Rudaw news hound on the scene. "There are checkpoints at the city's main entry ways," he said.

"The situation is stabilized. Iraqi security forces are seen all around the city and there are checkpoints to protect visitors. Meanwhile,
...back at the shattered spaceship, Fffflirgoll the Arcturan slithered stealthily toward the control room, where the humans had barricaded themselves...
Iraqi forces are seen moving in nearby towns and districts."

There has been no exchange of fire between Iraqi forces and murderous Moslems hiding in Qadisiya.

But Iraqi forces say they fear reports that an estimated 500 ISIS suicide kaboomers are holed up in the district, complicating the task of entirely liberating the city of ISIS.

Iraqi forces backed by US-led Arclight airstrikes liberated Tikrit in Salahadin province from ISIS on Wednesday, after nearly a 10-month occupation.

#1  the Qadisiya district is probably no bigger than two football fields

you could level the district with a small squad of bombers

or you could wait until June-July-August when the daytime temps reach 110F or so every day and let the ISIS fighters decompose

PLO moves 2,000 Palestinians from Syria's Yarmouk camp
[AA.TR] The Paleostine Liberation Organization (PLO) has relocated some 2,000 Paleostinians from Syria's flashpoint Yarmouk refugee camp, a PLO official said on Sunday.

Ahmed Magdalani, who oversees Yarmouk camp in the PLO, said that his organization was conducting an emergency plan for Paleostinians inside Yarmouk after Daesh gunnies seized parts of the camp over the past few days.

"The [PLO] plans on relocating as many residents as possible while working on facilitating the entry of food and medical supplies inside the camp," Magdalani told The Anadolu Agency.

He also said that he will visit Damascus on Monday to monitor the situation in Yarmouk from there.

Violence has flared up inside the camp, which accommodates tens of thousands of Paleostinian refugees, since Wednesday when Daesh gunnies stormed it and clashed with Aknaf Beit Al-Maqdis Lion of Islam group.

Yarmouk, the largest Paleostinian refugee camp in Syria, is located in southern Syrian capital Damascus.

Around 166 Paleostinian residents of the camp starved to death in mid-2013 when Syrian regime forces besieged it.

Syria has been ravaged by a deadly civil war since 2011, when the regime of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Despoiler of Deraa...
violently cracked down on anti-government demonstrations.

More than 220,000 people have been killed in the conflict to date, according to recent UN figures.

Prior to the Syrian conflict, Paleostinians living in Syria were estimated at some 581,000 -- one third of which had been living in Yarmouk camp, according to UN figures.

However,
some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go...
thousands of Paleostinians in Syria have fled to neighboring Leb and Jordan, while hundreds of others managed to flee to the Gazoo Strip as the conflict between Assad's forces and armed opposition groups raged on.

#1  http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/31/world/middleeast/saudis-make-own-moves-as-us-and-iran-talk.html?_r=0

Mr. Khashoggi, the Saudi editor, argued that Saudi Arabia’s own campaign to push back against Iran without waiting for the Americans was showing signs of success. Saudi Arabian and Turkish sponsors, he said, had backed the coalition of jihadist groups that recently captured the Syrian city of Idlib in the first major victory in months against the government of President Bashar al-Assad.

One participant in the coalition was the Nusra Front, the Syrian arm of Al Qaeda, a terrorist group in the eyes of the West. But members of the jihadi coalition “are the ones who captured Idlib, it is an important development, and I think we are going to see more of that,” Mr. Khashoggi said. “Coordination between Turkish and Saudi intelligence has never been as good as now.”
