Walter Wallace Jr., the Philly man who pursued police w/a knife before being shot, was a rapper. The convicted felon was awaiting trial for threatening to shoot a woman & her house up. In 2017, he pled guilty to putting a gun to another woman’s head. #BLMhttps://t.co/flL5BBDmR0
A judge ordered Wallace to undergo a psychiatric evaluation and treatment as far back as 2013.
His family says he was bipolar.
"I do know that he was on a regimen of lithium and that says to me he was under a doctor's care, and that says to me officers who are trained - invisible ink - properly should notice certain things when they arrive at the scene," said family attorney Shaka Johnson.
Meanwhile, dozens of officers were injured by rocks and bricks in clashes with protestors after the shooting.
Some neighbors have said those protestors were not from the neighborhood.
Commissioner Outlaw addressed those concerns.
"Speaking anecdotally - we tend not to like to speak anecdotally - but I will tell you the crowd that was out there on the scene, the residents from that neighborhood those, who witnessed the incident, those were the folks that I interacted with while there. Those were not the same people that we later interacted with once I left that scene. It was a completely different group, and quite frankly, demographics that we saw there and I heard from the community some of the same frustrations expressed as well," Outlaw said.

"Vote Harris! We're gonna be rich!
Oh yes, it's a helluva pitch:
She'll defund the police
And we'll all live in peace...
Because none of you bitches will snitch!"

It's a moment the sistas all dread:
A gun to a black Black woman's head.
And the source of unease? White supremacy? Please.
Not that nightmare you let in your bed?
Or, gawd help you, didn't.

I kind of sense officers are working on hitting the city's pocket book as much as possible in creative ways if the city is going to let this chaos continue.

[RT] Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias has said Athens wants to expand economic and military partnerships with Israel and other countries in the region to counter "the hostile policy" of neighboring The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... Foreign ministers from Greece, Cyprus and Israel pledged on Tuesday to increase cooperation in the defense and energy areas. The three states are at odds with Ankara over energy boundaries in the eastern Mediterranean.
"Our region is not going back to the 19th century," Dendias said. The warning to Turkey came after he met with Israel’s Gabi Ashkenazi and Cyprus’ Nikos Christodoulides.
Among the new projects the three states are planning is an electricity grid connection between Israel, Cyprus and the Greek island of Crete via undersea cable. It could be constructed by the end of 2023.
Dendias said he informed the ministers about Ankara’s recent "provocative" moves, including the new "illegal NAVTEX" for surveys inside the Greek continental shelf and the visit of the Ottoman Turkish vice president to "the occupied Cypriot town of Varosha."

[Breaking Defense] TEL AVIV: The United States, pressed by Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz In Washington last week, will grant Israel direct access to highly classified satellites such as the missile detection birds known as SBIRS and ensure Israel gets critical defense platforms in a very short time by using production slots planned for the U.S armed forces.
Israeli sources say that the agreement guarantees Israel’s supremacy for decades to come. "I can say that the agreement is something that will help keep Israel safe," one source told me.
As an indicator of just how rapidly events are moving, US Defense Secretary Mark Esper will arrive here on Thursday and is scheduled to meet with Gantz
A few days before Gantz’s visit, the director general of the Ministry of Defense, Amir Eshel, went to the United States himself and joined Israeli teams already operating there who formulated all the clauses of the compensation package for Israel following the announcement of the possible sale of the F-35 to the Emirates.
Those who were in the negotiating rooms between Israel and the United States describe a very high commitment to Israel by their US counterparts.

Bunker Buster = 2000lb BLU-109 bomb body. Add on laser or GPS guidance kit. Or possibly the 5,000lb GBU-28 for the Israeli F-15I. Not the 30,000lb MOP as stated in this story.
"They say peace is made with enemies. False. Peace is made with those who have stopped being enemies. Peace is made with those who desire peace and who no longer remain committed to your annihilation."
— Bibi Netanyahu
[IsraelTimes] ’I would not object to the prospect of a peace agreement,’ says Claudia Aoun of deal with Jewish state, in latest comment to draw ire.
The set-up:
The daughter of Lebanese President Michel Aoun ...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah... is drawing outrage in Leb this week for backing the idea of peace with Israel, albeit with significant caveats.

[Watts Up With That] - According to CNN, the Pentagon is in a position to kickstart the USA’s green transport revolution through its enormous procurement needs.

The Department of Defense has a critical role to play in this effort. It also has a strong interest in doing so.

Gradually replacing older vehicles with new hybrid or electric vehicles would not only be more fuel efficient, it would also grow the market for a nascent US industry. Similarly, retrofitting military facilities with green materials and technologies would make buildings more energy efficient, while also growing high-paying manufacturing and construction jobs.
Scaling investments in alternative energy like solar would lessen demand on local energy grids and help drive down the cost of renewable energy nationwide. By leveraging its procurement power to create large-scale demand, the DoD can accelerate market growth, helping green technologies become more viable and affordable for widespread use while enhancing American competitiveness.
...
Obviously if the US army is going to start running around remote battlefields in tanks which only have a few miles range, someone is going to have to install a lot of EV stations in some pretty inhospitable locations. It might also impact battlefield readiness if US tanks have half the range of opponents, take at least half an hour to recharge, and have to sacrifice armour to be lightweight and energy efficient.
I guess US soldiers could ask enemy combatants to refrain from attacking for half an hour per day, while the tanks are on fast charge, and for the sake of the planet to please refrain from firing RPGs at the fragile base solar panel array and wind turbine systems.

CNN, thinking things through as usual. So just how are they going to charge up the tanks in the field? And that is just the second order of effect of this dumbass idea.

Rods from God yesterday so we have options for the day these morons gain power.
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
