Afghanistan
Taliban promises amnesty to all security forces and officials of Afghanistan
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
Taqqiya.
[REGNUM] The Taliban movement appealed to the Afghan people with a declaration of peaceful intentions and a promise of amnesty to the military and officials, the Iranian ISNA news agency reported on August 13.

According to the Taliban, even those who fought against them should not fear for their lives.

"The rapid advancement of the Taliban units is ensured by the high popularity of the movement. If someone fought against the Taliban, then he should not be afraid. Everyone can live in peace. We are your brothers. If someone attacks you on behalf of the Taliban, immediately inform our headquarters so that he can deal with these people," the agency quotes the words of the appeal.

The Taliban urge the population not to leave their homes because of their offensive, and government officials are asked not to emigrate with their families outside the country.

In addition, amnesty was promised to servicemen of the government army, inviolability of private property and state property.

As reported by IA REGNUM, by the evening of August 13, announced the establishment of control over half of the provinces of Afghanistan.

Africa Subsaharan
Boko Haram Surrender: It Should Not Be Blanket Amnesty And Pampering — Ndume
[CHANNELSTV] Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Ndume, has reaffirmed his stand against blanket amnesty for repentant Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
fighters.A few days ago, the Nigerian Army released a statement, saying the recent offensive operations by troops of Operation Hadin Kai have led Boko Haram and Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of West Africa Province forces of Evil in the North-East to surrender en masse, a report which stirred various reactions as to what becomes of the ’repentant’ terrorists.

Speaking on the development as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Senator Ndume noted that this did not come to him as a surprise. He is, however, of the opinion that more must be done to the gunnies other than the pat on the back which seems to be the norm at the moment.

"It didn’t come to me as a surprise actually, because I’ve been saying for a long time that the armed forces and other security agencies of the country are handicapped, otherwise, they have the capacity and the ability to prosecute this war.

"Now that what they need is given to them, you can see the results within this short time. And I’m expecting more.

"It is only that, as I have said before, there shouldn’t be blanket amnesty and pampering treatment to those who have surrendered," the politician said.

#1  Gather them all in. Provide nice, clean housing, amenities, etc.

Once, say, 90% are ensconced, offer a choice.

9mm to the head, or the bayonet to the gut. In the presence of an imam, of course.

France, Western powers to boycott UN anti-racism conference over concerns about 'anti-Semitic statements'
[AlAhram] La Belle France will join other major Western powers and Israel in boycotting a UN anti-racism conference next month over concerns about "anti-Semitic statements" at past editions, the presidential office said on Friday.

The follow-up meeting of the Durban Conference, named after the South African city where the UN's anti-racism conference was held in 2001, is scheduled to bring together world leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York in September.

But the format has been controversial since its inception, with critics led by Israel charging that the first edition in Durban was tarnished by virulent and undisguised anti-Semitism.

Several countries, including La Belle France, also boycotted follow-up meetings in 2009 and 2011.

President Emmanuel Macron "has decided that La Belle France will not take part in the follow-up conference due to take place this year as he is concerned by anti-Semitic statements made within the Durban Conference", his office said in a statement.

"La Belle France will continue to fight against all forces of racism and will be watching to make sure that the Durban follow-up conference is held in accordance with the founding principles of the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
," it said.

The United States, the UK, Australia, Israel and numerous other European countries have already announced they are boycotting this year's meeting.

"Following historic concerns regarding anti-Semitism, the UK has decided not to attend the UN's Durban Conference anniversary event," the British foreign ministry said in a statement.

The initial Durban conference, from August 31 to September 8, 2001, just days before the terror attacks of September 11, was marked by deep divisions on the issues of anti-Semitism, colonialism and slavery.

Western countries believe that criticism of Israel and its occupation of the Paleostinian territories frequently veered into open anti-Semitism.

The US and Israel walked out of the conference in protest at the tone of the meeting, including over plans to include condemnations of Zionism in the final text.

At the 2009 conference, a speech by Iran's then-president Mahmoud Short Round Ahmadinejad attacking Israel sparked a temporary walkout by many European delegates.

"The original Durban conference was a show of hatred and anti-Israel propaganda and the follow-up events became events of anti-Israel incitement," said a spokeswoman for the Israeli foreign ministry, confirming Israel would not attend this year's event.

The Paleostinian Authority said however it would be taking part in the conference "despite the position of several European countries".

Macron has vowed to fight against anti-Semitism in all its forms and last year warned of "the unbearable resurgence of anti-Semitism in our Europe". The government has in recent days expressed concerned over anti-Semitic slogans at protests against Covid-19 restrictions.

US places sanctions on oil broker for allegedly supporting Quds force
[Rudaw] The US Department of Treasury announced on Friday that sanctions were imposed on an accused oil smuggler in an international oil smuggling network allegedly responsible for funding Quds force operations in the region.

In a blurb, Secretary of State Antony Blinkin noted that Iranian oil proceeds were being used to support the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force (IRGC-QF) in their "malign activities" in the region.

"The IRGC-QF is using revenues from its Iranian petroleum sales to fund its malign activities at the expense of the Iranian people," the director of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Andrea M. Gacki was quoted in the blurb.

This comes as Washington urges Tehran to prioritize resuming nuclear negotiations in Vienna, saying the window to revive the nuclear accord will not remain open forever as Iran’s breakout time for producing fissile material for a nuclear weapon continues to shrink.

The sanctions freeze any US assets of those blacklisted, as well as generally prohibiting Americans from engaging in transactions with them. Foreign financial institutions also risk exposure to sanctions themselves if they provide support.

"The United States will continue to expose and disrupt those supporting such efforts," said Blinken.

Among those named by OFAC was Mahmood Rashid Amur al-Habsi, an oil broker from Oman whose various companies were used to conceal the IRGC-QF's involvement in the sale and shipment of Iranian oil, according to the report. Shipments worth millions of dollars have been transported by al-Habsi's companies, such as Oman-based Nimr International L.L.C and Orbit Petrochemicals Trading LLC.

Al-Habsi "tampered with the automated identification systems that are onboard vessels, forged shipping documents, and paid bribes, circumventing restrictions related to Iran" while maintaining oversight over shipping operations, the statement explained.

Earlier this month, the United Kingdom and the United States condemned the attack on an Israeli-managed petroleum tanker off the coast of Oman that killed two people on August 1, both blaming Iran.

Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
has denied involvement, saying "the Zionist regime has created insecurity, terror and violence... These accusations about Iran's involvement are condemned by Tehran," Rooters reported.

#1  The sanctions target the companies managed by Mahmood Rashid Amur Al Habsi, based in Oman, Liberia and Romania. “Al-Habsi used its Oman-based company, Nimr International LLC, to facilitate the sale and transport of Iranian oil to support the Quds Force of the Revolutionary Guards. (…) Al Habsi also used Orbit Petrochemicals. Trading Oman, based in Oman, to facilitate the sale of Iranian oil in order to hide the involvement of the Quds Force. (…) Bravery Maritime Corporation, a company registered in Liberia, is identified for sanction under the Executive Order. 13224, with amendments, due to the fact that it is owned, controlled or managed, directly or indirectly, by Al Habsi. (…) The company Nimr International SRL, based in Romania, is identified by virtue of the Executive Order 13224 , with modifications, as it is owned, controlled or conducted, directly or indirectly, by Al Habsi, “the US Treasury Department said.
