First Texas bus drops off migrants blocks from US Capitol in Washington, DC
[FoxNews] A bus from Texas arrived in Washington, D.C. Wednesday morning, transporting dozens of illegal immigrants as part of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s new plan to counter federal immigration policies during an ongoing border crisis.

Abbott announced last week that he was directing the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to transport migrants released from federal custody in Texas to the nation’s capital and other locations outside his state.

The bus pulled up at approximately 8 a.m. local time, blocks away from the U.S. Capitol building. Fox News has learned that they came from the Del Rio sector in Texas, after coming to the U.S. from Colombia, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

Upon the bus's arrival in Washington, D.C., individuals disembarked one by one except for family units who exited together. They checked in with officials and had wristbands they were wearing cut off before being told they could go.

The agency told Fox News on Monday that many of the communities that originally reached out for support – from the Rio Grande Valley to Terrell County – say the federal government stopped dropping immigrants in their towns since Abbott's announcement on April 6.
According to TDEM, Abbott’s plan is already working. The agency told Fox News on Monday that many of the communities that originally reached out for support – from the Rio Grande Valley to Terrell County – say the federal government stopped dropping immigrants in their towns since Abbott's announcement on April 6.

Some had questioned whether Abbott’s plan to bus migrants was genuine. The White House dismissed it as a "publicity stunt." Even Texas state Rep. Matt Schaefer, a Republican, called it a "gimmick."

TDEM said it dispatched buses over the weekend to border communities where it coordinated with officials to identify these immigrants. The agency added that each bus has the capacity and supplies necessary to carry up to 40 migrants released in Texas communities and transport them to Washington, D.C.

Still, the governor's legal authority to transport busloads of migrants to the U.S. Capitol remains in question. The 2012 Supreme Court case, Arizona v. the United States, prevents states from making their own immigration policies.

Abbott insists that the federal government is failing to adequately address the situation. President Biden recently announced that he would be rescinding Title 42, which was used to expel migrants swiftly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Texans demand and deserve an aggressive, comprehensive strategy to secure our border—not President Biden's lackluster leadership," Abbott said in a statement. "As the federal government continues to roll back commonsense policies that once kept our communities safe, our local law enforcement has stepped up to protect Texans from dangerous criminals, deadly drugs, and illegal contraband flooding into the Lone Star State."

German court charges IS returnee over alleged slave abuse
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

A German woman who allegedly abused a Yazidi slave while in Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. -held territory in Syria has been charged with crimes against humanity and other offenses, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.

The woman, identified only as Jalda A. in keeping with German privacy laws, was arrested upon her arrival back in Germany on Oct. 7. Before her repatriation, she had been held captive by Kurdish forces since late 2017.

She was charged with membership in a foreign terrorist organization, crimes against humanity, war crimes and being an accessory to genocide, prosecutors said in a statement.

The suspect traveled in April 2014 via The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
to Syria, according to prosecutors, where she quickly married an IS fighter and gave birth to a son the following year. When her first husband died, she married two other men in succession.

She lived with the third man in and near the Syrian city of Mayadin from September to October 2017, prosecutors said, adding that the husband kept a Yazidi woman as a slave and regularly raped her with the suspect's knowledge.

The suspect also physically abused the woman "almost every day," according to prosecutors. She allegedly punched and kicked the woman, pulled her hair, and slammed her head against the wall, and on one occasion hit the woman in the head with a flashlight.

In addition, prosecutors said, the suspect constantly watched the woman and repeatedly told her to pray according to Islamic custom, an act that "served the stated goal of the IS, to eradicate the Yazidi faith."

The indictment was filed last month at the state court in Hamburg, which will have to decide whether and when to open a trial.

US prosecutors rest case against Islamic State 'Beatle'
[AlMonitor] Prosecutors rested their case Tuesday against an alleged member of the notorious Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
kidnap-and-murder cell known as the "Beatles."

El Shafee Elsheikh, 33, declined the opportunity to testify in his own defense at his trial in a federal court in Alexandria, Virginia.

Asked by Judge T.S. Ellis if he wanted to take the stand, Elsheikh said "No," the first time his voice had been heard during the two-week trial.

Elsheikh is charged with the murders of American freelance journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff and aid workers Kayla Mueller and Peter Kassig, and suspected of the kidnapping of nearly 20 other Westerners in Syria.

Ten European journalists, relief workers and Syrians held hostage by the "Beatles" have testified over the past few days of their brutal treatment at their captors' hands.

Elsheikh's lawyers declined to cross-examine any of the witnesses and presented only 20 minutes of excerpts from interviews he gave to media outlets as his defense.

The interviews were conducted after Elsheikh and another alleged "Beatle," Alexanda Amon Kotey, were captured in January 2018 by a Kurdish militia in Syria.

Unlike now, Elsheikh acknowledged in the interviews that he had interactions with the Western hostages, who dubbed the hostage-takers the "Beatles" because of their British accents.

Elsheikh's lawyers contend that he lied about being a "Beatle" in the interviews so he would be transferred to the United States instead of being put on trial in Iraq, where he would have faced a certain death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
The final former hostage to testify was Danish photographer Daniel Rye Ottosen, who recounted how he was given 25 blows for his 25th anniversary.

He also recalled having a knife placed against his throat and a gun thrust into his mouth.

The prosecution and defense are to deliver their closing arguments on Wednesday, and the case will go to the jury.

Elsheikh and Kotey were turned over to US forces in Iraq following their capture. They were flown to Virginia in 2020 to face charges of hostage-taking, conspiracy to murder US citizens and supporting a terrorist organization.

Kotey pleaded guilty in September 2021 and is facing life in prison.

The other "Beatle," Mohammed Emwazi, the notorious executioner known as "Jihadi John," was killed by a US dronezap in Syria in 2015.
A young Yazidi woman testified on Monday that American aid worker Kayla Mueller told her she was raped by former Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and threatened with death if she tried to escape.

Lia Mulla, who was captured by Islamic State (IS) members in August 2014 as she tried to flee Iraq's Mount Sinjar with her family, testified through a translator on Monday at the trial of El Shafee Elsheikh, who was allegedly one of Mueller's IS jailers.

Mueller, an aid worker from Arizona, was captured by IS in August 2013 while accompanying her Syrian boyfriend on a trip to a hospital in Aleppo, where he was contracted to repair a satellite dish. She was initially held by the "Beatles" but then was allegedly turned over to Baghdadi, the IS leader who died during a US special forces raid in 2019.

Mulla said she was taken by IS to various locations with other young women after being captured. Eventually, she ended up in a prison where Mueller was being detained. They communicated "mostly with their hands," she said, and a few words of Arabic.

"One day they took her and when they brought her back she was really afraid," Mulla said. "They had told her that IS wanted to marry us off, and if we were to try to run away they would kill us."

A couple of days later, Mulla said she was taken along with Mueller and another Yazidi girl to the home of Abu Sayyaf, a top Baghdadi lieutenant, where they would "treat us like slaves."

- 'DIRTY HOUSE' -
After a week there, she said they were taken to the "dirty house... the place were they took maiden of tender yearss and raped them."

She said Baghdadi came one night and took Mueller away.

When Mueller returned the next morning, "she was very sad, she was very nervous, she was crying," Mulla said. "She had been raped and threatened that if she tried to run away he would kill her."

Mulla said she decided to try to escape and asked Mueller to join her but she declined. "She was afraid that if she was captured, she would be beheaded," she said.

But Mueller asked Mulla to "tell the world" about her if she managed to make it to freedom. Mulla said she slipped out a window, climbed on a generator to get over a wall and ran for a long time. After her escape, she said her brother put her in touch with a friend who was a translator for the Americans and she told them about Mueller.

IS announced Mueller's death in February 2015 and said she was killed in a Jordanian Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
, a claim that was disputed by US authorities.

Foley, Sotloff and Kassig were murdered by IS and videos of their deaths released by the group for propaganda purposes.

Elsheikh and another "Beatle," Alexanda Amon Kotey, were captured in January 2018 by a Kurdish militia in Syria and turned over to US forces in Iraq. They were flown to Virginia in 2020 to face charges of hostage-taking, conspiracy to murder US citizens and supporting a terrorist organization.

Kotey pleaded guilty in September 2021 and is facing life in prison.

"Beatles" executioner Mohammed Emwazi was killed by a US drone in Syria in 2015.

Elsheikh has denied the charges and his lawyers claim his arrest is a case of mistaken identity.
A former Islamic State group member turned cooperating witness has told a US court that an ex-jihadist on federal trial was clearly "more important" than other fighters.

Omer Kuzu testified on Monday that he met El Shafee Elsheikh on at least five occasions. He said while they did not talk much, Mr Elsheikh had an air of importance. Mr Elsheikh, 33, is the highest profile IS fighter to face trial in the US.

Mr Kuzu, who spent four-and-a-half years as an IS member, testified at Mr Elsheikh's trial as part of a plea deal with the US government.

The 26-year-old left his home in Dallas, Texas at age 18 in October 2014, flew to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
and was later smuggled into Syria. He joined the telecommunications office in Raqqa, Syria, then "the capital of IS". He told the court he did "typical IT work" to support the group's battlefield operations.

He was captured by Syrian forces in 2019, and handed over to the FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
. He pleaded guilty in Texas in September 2020 to conspiracy to provide material support to IS.

On the stand on Monday, Mr Kuzu said that while other guards wore traditional Afghan clothes, Mr Elsheikh wore a green military uniform and always carried a Glock pistol. Having a Glock was uncommon, he said, calling it "a symbol of Isis aristocracy".

He said Mr Elsheikh was also "quiet, reserved, almost secretive", which he believed indicated he didn't want to be a target of foreign intelligence agencies.

Mr Kuzu appeared in court in a teal prison jumpsuit. He spoke clearly, often leaning forward into the microphone and saying "yes sir" in response to questions. Asked to identify Mr Elsheikh, he pointed at the defendant and described his clothing. The defendant, always wearing a disposable black face mask, pulled it down during the identification process.

Identification is a key part of the trial. The defence argue Mr Elsheikh was a "simple Isis fighter" not one of the so-called Beatles, and therefore should not be held responsible for what that turban cell did.

Under cross-examination, Mr Kuzu admitted that Mr Elsheikh had never explicitly told him about himself or what he did for IS. But he said "his work was right in front of my eyes".

He also described Mr Elsheikh and Alexanda Kotey - believed to be another "Beatle" who in September pleaded guilty to multiple charges relating to the murder of four American hostages in Syria - as "some sort of a duo or tag team".

Kulgam gunfight: One of two slain militants was active for five years, police say
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Police on Tuesday identified the two Jaish faceless myrmidons killed in an overnight firefight with security forces in Kulgam district of south Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
as Jameel Pasha alias Usman Chachu, a Pak and Sameer Sofi son of Farooq Ahmad Sofi of Amshipora, Shopian. Two cops were maimed in the shootout.

Quoting sources, news agency GNS reported that Pasha was active since five years in Kulgam-Shopian belt and had a history of cases including attacks on police and security forces, abduction of forces personnel, IED attacks and weapon looting against him.

Besides, he was also instrumental in recruitment of youth into holy warrior folds, sources said.

As per sources, the slain faceless myrmidons were part of the group that escaped after a brief shootout in Chaki Samad area of Kulgam on April 9.

The encounter broke out on Monday evening on a specific input regarding movement of faceless myrmidons in a vehicle on Manzgam-Aharbal axis after which a special joint team of Kulgam Police and Army’s 9 & 34 RR was constituted and at about 17:50 hours, a police spokesperson said, adding, "a three-wheeler vehicle (tempo) was spotted near Khur-Batpora moving in suspicious condition and was chased and challenged."

However,

the faceless myrmidons travelling in the vehicle jumped out and resorted to "indiscriminate firing towards the joint team," the front man said adding the fire was effectively retaliated. However,

in the initial firefight, two of the Police personnel got critically maimed and were evacuated amidst the heavy firing to 92 Base Hospital (BB Cant Srinagar) where their condition is stable now.

He said the encounter which started at twilight lasted for the whole night and ended up with the killing of the two holy warriors.

Police said a large cache of arms and ammunition including one AK47 rifle, 3 AK47 Magazine, 36 AK 47 rounds, one Pistol, one Pistol Magazine, five Pistol rounds, one Grenade, one BP Pouch, and weapon Oil Bottle was recovered from the site of the encounter.

#1  Well they're both inactive now.

Jameel Pasha alias Usman 'Chacha' [uncle] was Paki. His known name may be an alias too, you never know with ISI. The other dead 'un is a Sameer Ahmed Sofi, local, skipped for training to POK then returned.

'Active for years' because of the liberal administrations, Islamist legislators and legals covering for cross border traders etc. All that changed when our hands were untied in Kashmir.

Iraqi judiciary resolves 1,500 cases of people coming from Syria’s Hawl Camp
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

An Iraqi security expert revealed on Tuesday that the Iraqi judiciary has resolved the cases of more than 1,500 people who came from Hawl Camp.

The families returning from Hawl Camp undergo rehabilitation programs with the support of international organizations, and some of these families, who were undergone rehabilitation programmes, were returned to their original areas in Iraq in coordination with the notables and the concerned authorities in the regions inside Iraq.

"The National Security Advisory succeeded in receiving more than 450 families, an average of nearly more than 1,700 people from Hawl Camp," explaining that "the Iraqi judiciary has resolved the cases of more than 1,550 people."

United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
has called for the resolution of the situation of Hawl Camp in northeast Syria, warning that it is a "ticking time bomb".

Last Saturday, a conference was held under the title (Hawl Camp and the obligations of the international community), in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The security expert said that al-Jada’a camp in Nineveh Governorate, in the west of the country, is currently ready to receive the returnees.

Hawl Camp, the most dangerous camp worldwide, houses no less than 30,000 Iraqi nationals who are either ISIS members or ISIS families.

Hawl Camp is full of Iraqis, and solutions and subsequent steps must be taken to embrace them and restore the contact of children and women with society, since their fathers or husbands were killed or arrested outside Iraq," Abu Raghef said.

During the previous periods, Iraq formed a committee to visit the camp and meet with Iraqi families, in coordination with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) according to Ali Abbas, a front man for the Iraqi Ministry of Immigration, in a previous statement to North Press.

Abu Raghef stressed "The need for civil society organizations, Media and holy mans to work on this issue with international, local and regional support."

Iraq calls the international community to dismantle Hawl Camp, repatriate the citizens and prosecute "terrorists" in their own countries to achieve a sustainable security in the region and in the world, al-Araji said on the sideline of the conference.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Lebanese queue for bread amid wheat shortages
[An Nahar] Some bakeries had already closed their doors when others threatened of closing on Monday night, as bakeries announced they do not have sufficient quantities of wheat to produce bread, urging officials for a fast solution.

General Confederation of Lebanese Workers head Bechara al-Asmar warned Tuesday that there is a scarce quantity of wheat in the bakeries that can barely last for 10 days, urging officials to act swiftly and not to lift subsidies on wheat.

A person had been reportedly injured in a shooting in front of a bakery in the southern suburbs of Beirut, as people queued on Monday to secure their bread, amid promises that the crisis will soon ease.

Economy Minister Amin Salam had promised that a solution will be reached by today, Tuesday, as the central Bank failed to secure funds for the imported subsidized wheat.

He said the funds will be secured.

"Cabinet has decided in its latest session to dedicate $15 million for wheat but the Central Bank hasn't paid the sum yet," al-Asmar said.

LBCI meanwhile said it has learned that Prime Minister Najib Miqati and Minister of Finance Youssef al-Khalil have signed a decision to exceptionally withdraw $15 million from Leb

Agriculture Minister Abbas Haj Hassan denied the withdrawal, saying that Cabinet will convene in the upcoming hours.

He assured that wheat subsidies won't be lifted any time soon.

Raja Salameh's release request approved, bail lowered to LBP 200 billion

accusatory body led by Judge Pierre Francis on Tuesday approved a ruling to release Raja Salameh from jail, dismissing an appeal filed by Mt. Lebanon Prosecutor Judge Ghada Aoun.

The accusatory body also agreed to slash the bail value from LBP 500 billion to LBP 200 billion.

Salameh's lawyer had recently said that the LBP 500 billion bail that Investigative Judge Nicolas Mansour had ordered for the release of Salameh was "unprecedented" in the history of the Lebanese Justice Palace.

"The amount is unreasonable and illogical," lawyer Marwan al-Khoury said, after having filed an appeal demanding that the bail amount be slashed.

Mansour had ordered the release of Raja Salameh, Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh's brother, on a bail of LBP 500 billion, but Mount Lebanon Prosecutor Judge Ghada Aoun appealed against the decision and demanded that he be kept in jug.

Aoun had charged Raja with "facilitating money laundering" after he was arrested over financial misconduct.

The same charge was filed against Ukrainian national Anna Kosakova, who jointly owns a company with Raja Salameh.

The judge is also overseeing several legal cases against Riad Salameh, who has repeatedly failed to show up at hearings.
