Fentanyl folded dollar bill alert: 'If you didn't put it there, don't pick it up'
[Western Journal] The Giles County, Tennessee, Sheriff’s Department cautioned residents on Thursday against picking up folded dollar bills on the ground.

Sheriff Kyle Helton said people stumbled across folded dollar bills at a local gas station on two occasions. When those individuals picked up the bills, they found a white powdery substance between the folds.

When authorities tested the powder to determine its chemical composition, they found it contained methamphetamine and fentanyl.

"This is a very dangerous issue!" Helton warned residents in a notice shared on his office’s Facebook page, adding that it is "a great concern to public safety."

Kinda reminds me of the internet warning of sharp tainted needles with Aids hidden behind the car door handle thing, that floated around 30 years ago.

So I have to ask what addict wastes a snort and a lick.

But there is always that A-hole out there wanting to hurt a kid/teen.

#2  Probably not an intentional act. Still, fentanyl is so cheap. And now the media (with the help of the police chief, who may mean well or be grandstanding) has given people ideas.

Man hacked to death by uncle with machete in NYC
[NYPOST] A Queens man was hacked to death by his machete-wielding uncle in an ongoing feud over the family’s house, cops and neighbors told The Post on Sunday.

Suspect Mahadeo Suhnandan, 50, is now awaiting arraignment for allegedly killing his 29-year-old nephew, Neraz Roberts, inside the home.

Roberts was pronounced dead at 88-27 187 Place in Jamaica around 5 a.m. with gashes to his back and hand, cops said.

Neighbor Ryan Basdeo, 24, said problems in the family began about 2 1/2 years ago when the owner of the house died, leaving her son, her daughter and Suhnandan, the daughter’s husband, to sort out the ownership of the two-story brick home, Badeo said.

Both the son and his family, including his own offspring Roberts, and the daughter and her husband lived at the property.

31 White Nationalists cross state borders in U-Haul, arrested entering Coeur d'Aliene.
[NBC] Thirty-one people affiliated with the white nationalist group Patriot Front were arrested near an annual LGBTQ+ event Saturday in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, police said.

The suspects were booked on suspicion of conspiracy to riot, Coeur d'Alene Police Chief Lee White said at an afternoon news conference. Among those in custody late Saturday was a man with the same name as Patriot Front's Dallas-based founder, Thomas Ryan Rousseau.

White said police were made aware in recent days that a number of groups planned to disrupt Pride in the Park, an annual event highlighting the civil rights struggles of LGBTQ+ communities.

Staffing was increased and awareness was heightened by the time dispatchers fielded a report of 20 people in a U-Haul vehicle Saturday afternoon, he said.

NYC man nabbed in multiple random No. 7 train slashings
[NYPOST] A Queens man has been arrested for two separate random slashings on a No. 7 train in as many days — including one that left the subway car so bloody, it had to be taken out of service, cops and sources said Sunday.

Donny Ubiera, 32, stabbed two men — one in the face and the other in the neck — without provocation in separate incidents Friday and Saturday morning along the Flushing-to-Midtown subway line, the NYPD said in a statement.

The first attack occurred at 8:40 a.m. during the Friday morning rush hour at Queensboro Plaza in Long Island City, Queens, and left the 62-year-old victim with cuts to the face and hand, according to police.

There was so much blood in the train car that it had to be taken out of service, sources said.

The victim needed stitches to close his wounds.

Ubiera then allegedly struck again the next day at 7:15 a.m. at the 74th Street-Broadway station in Jackson Heights, Queens. Cops said he approached his unsuspecting victim, displayed a "large" knife and stabbed the man in the neck and fled.

Elephant tramples woman to death, then attacks her corpse at funeral
[NYPOST] A 70-year-old woman in India was trampled to death by an elephant — and her corpse was then bizarrely attacked by the same beast at her funeral, according to a report.

Police said Maya Murmu had been fetching water from a well in the eastern Indian state of Odisha on Thursday when an elephant came barreling toward her, according to the Print India. The tusked pachyderm had apparently beat feet from the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, which is located in a neighboring state.

The elephant trampled the woman, who ultimately died of her injuries at a nearby hospital, police told the outlet Saturday.

Murmu’s family was then performing her last rites before lighting a funeral pyre when the elephant allegedly returned and grabbed her body.

The animal threw the corpse in the air and then bravely bravely ran away, the local outlet reported.

Apparently, the family was able to continue the ceremony, and the elephant did not return.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
80 years ago Anne Frank started her diary, a landmark of world literature
[France24] Thirteen-year-old Anne Frank began keeping her now-famous diary on June 12, 1942. She would spend a little more than two years confiding in its pages, sharing stories from daily life, observations, and hopes for the future from the cramped annex in Amsterdam she occupied with her family and several other Jews in hiding. The last entry in her diary is dated August 1, 1944, after which she was arrested and deported.

"I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support." Anne Frank's diary begins with these now-famous words. Her book, published by her father in 1947, has become a landmark of world literature in its singular account of innocence in the face of barbarism.

Born in Frankfurt in 1929, Anne Frank emigrated with her family to the Netherlands in 1933, when Adolf Hitler became chancellor of a crisis-ridden Germany. In 1942, as the authorities tracked down Jews in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands, the Frank family moved into the 'annex', a flat hidden behind a false bookcase, to escape the Gestapo.

In August 1944, the family was betrayed by an unknown individual, and the inhabitants of the annex were deported to Auschwitz. Afterwards, Anne and her sister were transferred to Bergen-Belsen. Anne died of typhus in February or March 1945, shortly after the death of her older sister Margot.

Only 38,000 of the 140,000 Jews living in the Netherlands survived the Nazi occupation, one of the highest Holocaust death tolls in Europe. Dutch professor Johannes Houwink ten Cate, from the Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies (NIOD) in Amsterdam, reflects on the significance of this literary work.

Former Bolivian president sentenced to 10 years in prison
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Former Bolivian President Jeanine Anez was sentenced to 10 years in prison Friday on charges she illegally took over the presidency.

The court’s decision to punish Anez, who took office in 2019 following the resignation of former President Evo Morales, was politically motivated, her lawyer Luis Guillen said, according to the New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

. Guillen also argued that Bolivia’s current government, led by a socialist ally of Morales, broke the law in its treatment of Anez during her detention.

His team will now "exhaust resources within the country and then appeal to international organizations," Guillen said.

Ivan Lima, the justice minister of the country, said there was "no evidence" to support the allegations and that the country's government "respects the rules of due process."

Her defense team has insisted that she had to step in to fill a power vacuum in 2019, with Anez arguing Friday that her rise to power was "a consequence of all that happened" two years ago and that she "didn’t move a finger to reach the presidency."

Kremlin Responds After Polish EU Official Says West Should Give Ukraine Nukes
[ZERO] Starting in April, dangerous rhetoric related to regional nuclear aspirations began coming out of Poland - apparently directed as a 'threat' to Russia amid the invasion of Ukraine. Early that month, for example, ruling Polish party leader, Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski suggested that a "tougher" anti-Russian defense posture would include Poland being "open" to having nuclear weapons stationed in the country.

But this weekend has seen the rhetoric heighten even further, eliciting a fierce response from Moscow, when Poland's European Parliament Deputy and former Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski suggested that the West give nukes to Kiev. "The West has the right to give Ukraine nuclear warheads so that it can protect its independence," Sikorski said according to regional sources.

#3  The lies and hysteria are catching up with Ukraine's propagandists. The Ukrainians have lost the war. Their most valuable and economically productive territory, the Donbas, is lost.

It was always a matter to be settled at the negotiating table, but last March, Biden, Nuland, Sullivan and the other leftovers from 2014 told Zelensky that he need not negotiate. He walked away from Minsk and declared he would seize Crimea.

Reality has finally set in. Not even NATO's Jens Stoltenberg is pretending any longer that Russia has not won the war and that no terroritorial concessions are necessary. Stoltenberg: "The [only] question is how much territory, how much independence...are [the Ukrainians] willing to sacrifice for peace."

#6  The British tabloids' propaganda is laughable. Even the New York Times and Washington Post have abandoned their "counter-attack" myth. The only option now is negotiation. The only question is how much territory will belong to Russia.

#10  @Matt: I understand your frustration, but it has no bearing on the facts of the situation. There is no alternative to a negotiated settlement that involves significant losses of territory, at a minimum Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk.

Your anger should be directed at Zelensky and the Ukrainians' handlers in Washington.

I know it acts as a kind of therapy for you but really, there's no point in bashing the Russians: you're only increasing the pain and devastation suffered by the Ukrainians. The longer the war goes on, the more Ukrainians will be slaughtered and the more territory will be lost.

Several million nationals forcibly stolen to work in Russian factories and add their offspring to Russia’s falling population count is not merely an anodyne loss of territory, Jean-Paul. Please answer the hotshot lawyer’s question instead telling him not to worry his pretty head about it.

And given the destruction in the economically productive Donbas, one has to ask how much Russia will have to invest to make it productive again. Or does Russia really just care about removing competitors to their own factories, just as they only care about stealing the grain produced in Ukraine, and Ukraine’s subsequent ability to grow more, increasing the prices Russia can charge for its own harvest?

Posted by: trailing wife || 06/13/2022 11:42 Comments || Top||

#14  the hotshot lawyer

Is this a joke? What kind of lawyer would advise his client to continue getting his people slaughtered and losing territory? How much more territory do you want them to lose? How many poor press-ganged "reservists" have to mutiny, and how many thousands need to be slaughtered, before this "lawyer" admits reality?

Zelensky's government could have retained 93% of what they claimed as Ukraine and almost all of its productive assets and territory, without sacrificing tens of thousands of their people.

All they had to do was make a serious, good-faith effort to honor Minsk -- to rein in their neo-Nazi terrorists, restore water to Crimea and to leave alone the Russians' base on that historically Russian and extremely pro-Russian peninsula.

Instead, the neo-conservatives and the Democrats in Washington urged him to rip up Minsk, and provoke the Russians.

If this represents the counsel of a "hotshot lawyer," then that's a rather strange definition of "hotshot." Perhaps a hotshot such as Michael Avenatti

It's not about Ukraine. It's never been about Ukraine.

Instead, the neo-conservatives and the Democrats in Washington urged him to rip up Minsk, and provoke the Russians.

Now you got it! This was McStain and Miss Lindsey and the Nudelman cunt's latest neo-con crusade. Then Pelosi and Schiff and the Demorats saw a way to use Ukraine to try to link Orange Adolf with Russian Adolf.

And then Lloyd Raytheon and Lockheed and the other Beltway Bandits saw a chance to take in millions. And awayyyy they went.

Posted by: Matt || 06/13/2022 13:40 Comments || Top||

#17  First the question, chér Jean-Paul, then the counsel. How many Ukrainian civilians has Russia taken?

After all, all Russia had to do was not invade a neighbour and destroy the landscape, but they couldn’t even do that. Following the inevitable win, what will Russia have? Sanctions targetting Russia’s ability to buy the things needed to repair and rebuild, despite all the money piled up from sales of petroleum and other raw materials with which to pay for it all; accrued goodwill from Russia’s work in Syria and against the Russian portion of the worldwide jihadi network destroyed in a few short months; long term oil and gas customers turning to more trustworthy suppliers, while the replacement customers will need expensive investment in pipelines and equipment to feed the new markets; new distrust from near neighbours and those farther away that is resulting in all of them arming up instead of lying complacently under the American security umbrella — and none of them are buying weapons from Russia — which will make the planned next steps of reconquest harder. And worst of all, the world’s firm belief in the irresistible Russian army shattered beyond repair, making everything more difficult for Russia going forward, domestically as well as internationally.

Ukraine is being punished for its choices. But Russia is working hard for a Pyrrhic victory that she can ill afford.

Then it was the blitzkrieg in March to encircle and capture Kiev and do the same. Oh, wait. Then it was April or was it May, that the Ukrainians lost.

There is no end to this war. It's now generational. There will be lulls with paper signings and rearming, but its only time till it gets going again. This is now a blood match that Europe has always been host to in history.

#20  General Lord Richards, former Head of the British Army, warned against the stupidities of the Iraq fiasco and again about the Syria debacle. He warned today in The Telegraph about the stupidity of the US and UK's Russia strategy, or lack thereof.

The West does not seem to know what the aims of the Ukraine should be
General Lord Richards
The Telegraph
10 June 2022

"Good strategy is about hard choices. As Chief of Defence Staff, my outstanding team devised a coherent Syria strategy which independent experts agreed had a good chance of leading to a successful strategic outcome.

Once again [as with the Iran and Afghanistan dusasters], political leaders were not prepared to align ends, ways and means with Washington going as far as to say that “the General’s plan is more than the market can bear”.

What “market”? Consequently, my advice was to let Assad win and quickly and to stop encouraging and supplying opposition groups with insufficient support to ensure their success. The price in deaths, ruined lives and destroyed cities would be too huge and a massive strategic setback for the West. Russia was already sensing an opportunity and so it proved.

A similar lack of a coherent strategy is now apparent in Ukraine.

There is, at best, what might be termed incremental strategy with again no early and decisive synchronisation of ends, ways and means. It is a “let’s see how it goes” “strategy”, in other words not really strategy at all. There is still little idea in London, Washington or elsewhere how “we” want the war to pan out, or what sort of Russia we are seeking to shape, especially on the vital long-term issue of relations with China.

Is there an opportunity, using carrots and sticks, to persuade a weakened Russia to align with the West rather than having it pushed ineluctably into China’s orbit? No one is thinking grand strategically because no one is brave enough to think beyond the political convention of the moment.

#22  #18 The Ukrainians have lost the war.

You keep saying that and yet the fighting continues.

Because the Ukrainian leadership are too stupid to admit they've lost and too mad to halt the slaughter. As has been pointed out, Jens Stoltenberg is urging them to negotiate. So are Lord Richards and other western military leaders.

Even Biden says the only point of further Ukrainian resistance is to "strengthen their hand at the negotiating table." Precisely the opposite is happening. Their hand is getting weaker by the day. Madness

#23  OK, we got two questions on the table:

1- Has Russia won the war? I just skimmed the TASS website and don't see anything about that. You would think a banner headline would be in order.

2- What will happen to the Ukrainians who surrender or who are in territory that Ukraine gives up to buy peace? If the outcome is Katyn Forest or exile to Norilsk, why should Ukraine, or at least those Ukrainians, give up? It's a question relevant to the negotiation process.

#28  "Gates of Vienna" refers to a false historical analogy that's been favored by neo-con trolls ever since 9/11. It was silly when it was applied to the Mideast Muslim terrorist challenge; it's totally ludicrous in this context.

Ukraine is not our ally and is not a part of the West. It's just a miserable kleptocracy on an African scale, one that only exists because of the stupidity and criminal incompetence of first Lenin, then Khrushchev

It's not over until the fat lady sings. Face it, the Russian military performance has been pathetic and Ukrainians have fought them to a standstill.

I'll say one thing for you: The idea that Putin wants to restore the Soviet Union to its former glory has been thoroughly debunked. I mean, how's he gonna do that when he's bogged down in Donbass?

It's Putin who needs to seal this deal before Biden and his handlers do something we'll all regret.

Against those odds let's see if the flower of the Russian army can advance two kilometers tomorrow.

Zelensky's adviser, Mykhailo Podolyak, accused Western leaders of being reluctant to seriously address Ukraine’s gigantic disadvantage in long-range weaponry ...[while Ukraine's army] is being battered in fighting in the East.

And he suggested that some Western European countries, including France and Germany, were
“hiding from the war.’’

If you think we should lose, just tell us directly: ‘We want you to lose. Then we will understand why you give us weapons at this level,” Mr. Podolyak said in an interview in the presidential office compound in Kyiv.

Russia destroys bridge over Ukrainian river, cutting escape route
[REUTERS] Russian forces have blown up a bridge linking the embattled Ukrainian city of Sievierodonetsk to another city across the river, cutting off a possible evacuation route for civilians, local officials said on Sunday.

Sievierodonetsk has become the epicenter of the battle for control over Ukraine's eastern Donbas region. Parts of the city have been pulverized in some of the bloodiest fighting since the Kremlin unleashed its invasion on Feb. 24.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: June 12th, 2022
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] 22:09 The British corporation QinetiQ will provide Ukraine with ten TALON sapper robots, which can not only search for mines, but also neutralize them, said Alexei Beloshitsky, First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department. According to him, before the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine already had 12 such robots.

22:07 Zaluzhny spoke with US General Mark Milley and told him that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had launched a counteroffensive in certain areas. According to him, today the width of the front is 2450 km, of which 1105 km are actively fighting.

Zaluzhny also said that the enemy concentrated the main efforts in the north of the Luhansk region, where he massively uses artillery and has a tenfold fire advantage. The situation in Severodonetsk remains the most difficult, where the enemy has deployed seven battalion tactical groups.

22:04 In 30 countries of the world, the Russian diaspora staged anti-war actions on June 12, protesting against the invasion of Ukraine. The protesters said they were against the fascist ideology of the "Russian world" and urged the world to "do everything to stop this madness as soon as possible."

Also, actions were held in many cities of Russia, however, as the media say, these actions were secret. So, in the sky above the houses of Barnaul, a home-made poster Peace to Ukraine!!! Freedom of Russia!!! they raised white and blue balloons, and in the sky over Ufa, the same calls were carried by paper airplanes.

22:02 Zelensky said that after a missile attack on the Ternopil region, ten people are still in hospitals. "There was no tactical or strategic sense in this strike, as in the vast majority of other Russian strikes. This is terror, just terror," the president said. Among the victims, according to him, is a 12-year-old girl who left Kharkov for the Ternopil region to escape from the Russian army.

21:58 Zelensky said that Kiev continues to work to facilitate the access of Ukrainian goods to all important markets of the world: “Duty-free trade with the EU has already been canceled. The United States is already using a duty-free regime for Ukrainian steel. Canada has canceled duties. The same regime will work in the near future time with the UK.We expect trade liberalization from Australia. The ministerial conference of the members of the World Trade Organization began today. Before it began, representatives of 57 states gathered for a special event of solidarity with Ukraine, and I am grateful to them for this. And we will learn from the results of this intergovernmental conference, in particular , and the timing of the decision on trade indulgences for Ukraine from Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland".

21:54 Zelensky, in an evening video message, spoke about the situation at the front: "The key tactical goal of the occupiers has not changed - they are pressing in Severodonetsk, there are very fierce battles literally for every meter, and they are also pressing in the direction of Lisichansk, Bakhmut, Slavyansk. The Russian army is trying to send reserve forces to the Donbass. But what kind of reserves can they have now? It seems that they will try to throw into battle poorly trained conscripts and those who were gathered along the path of covert mobilization. And this means only one thing: Russia could cross the border of 40 thousand in June of their lost soldiers. In no other war in many decades have they lost so much. "

21:38 Stoltenberg said that peace in Ukraine depends on what Kiev and the West are ready to go: "Peace in Ukraine is possible. The question is what will be its price. How much territory, freedom and democracy are we willing to pay for this peace. NATO intends help Ukraine to give it the strongest position at the negotiating table with Russia that should end the hostilities."

21:23 In Russia, they say about the "acts of terrorism" that took place today in the occupied Berdyansk and Melitopol. Thus, in Berdyansk, as a result of a substation explosion, electricity was cut off in a number of areas, and in Melitopol, four people were injured in an explosion near the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - as they say, civilians, not officials or the military.

20:44 Finnish President Saule Niiniste said that his country will not join NATO separately from Sweden: "I will say that the case of Sweden is our case. This means that we will move on together."

He also noted that Ankara's claims to Helsinki and Stockholm regarding alleged support for terrorists surprised him: "We were surprised by the position of Turkey, but in international politics we must take seriously what the other side says. This is what we will do. I hope We will find a solution that satisfies everyone."

20:36 The Kiev region is ready to give a proper rebuff to the enemy in the event of a second attempt by the Russians to attack the capital, said the head of the Regional State Administration Oleksiy Kuleba after checking the border fortifications of the Kiev region. He stressed that the threat of another Russian attack "exists and will exist until we win."

20:19 The head of the Lugansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai said that there is no threat of cordoning off the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Luhansk region. He also said that about 500 civilians, including 40 children, remain on the territory of the Azot plant in Severodonetsk. Sometimes the military manages to evacuate someone. In general, there is no evacuation from Severodonetsk, the only way out of the city is on foot along one surviving bridge, which is under shelling all day. The bridge is old and critically damaged, in case of its destruction the regional center will be cut off.

According to Gaidai, the Russians are heavily shelling Lisichansk, today a six-year-old child was killed by enemy fire. Heavy fighting continues in the Mountain community. Humanitarian supplies are delivered daily to Lisichansk, from where they are taken by car to other settlements in the region.

19:58 Erdogan announced negotiations with Zelensky and Putin next week, he is going to discuss problems with the export of Ukrainian grain.

19:46 Reznikov, in an interview with The Economist, expressed disappointment with the loss of interest on the part of Western politicians and the media in the difficulties of the Ukrainian army: “Either the world does not quite understand what is happening, or it understands perfectly, but is tired and ready to come to terms with the opinion that Ukrainians die every day We need help quickly because every day of procrastination is measured in the blood of Ukrainians I understand that fatigue and exhaustion is a natural psychological reaction of the body to stress Politicians have their own concerns, they must think about internal problems Leaders of countries have a duty think about the consequences. The bureaucracy and pragmatism of the West turned out to be much stronger than Western values."

19:33 Famous Japanese architect Hiroki Matsura, after visiting Irpin, called it a "dream city for urbanists" and agreed to develop a master plan for its restoration: "I have been to ten cities in Ukraine. This is the best city I have seen. For us, urbanists, Irpin "This is a city of dreams. I understand why young families move here."

19:18 In the Slavic direction, the Ukrainian military repelled enemy attempts to attack, fierce battles for Severodonetsk continue, the Russians are preparing an offensive in the Liman direction, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

19:07 Stoltenberg called Turkey's concerns about the membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO legitimate: "We are talking about terrorism and the export of weapons. And we must understand that no other NATO member has suffered from terrorist attacks more than Turkey." So, he said, when a key alliance ally like Turkey raises the issue of terrorism, "of course we have to sit down at the negotiating table and take it seriously."

18:43 As a result of regular attacks by the Russian army, the Ukrainian railway network has suffered losses of $ 2.7 billion since the beginning of the war, Forbes calculated. The total length of the damaged railway tracks is approximately 6300 km, 41 bridges were damaged to some extent. In total, the length of the railway tracks of Ukraine is 22 thousand km, that is, more than a quarter is damaged.

18:21 Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk addressed the German government: "Dear government! Why are you denying the Ukrainian army Marder infantry fighting vehicles, which can be immediately supplied by Rheinmetall, while Ukraine is bleeding in the Donbas before your eyes? 109 days of Russian extermination war. Why?"

17:46 In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the enemy fired at the Sinelnikovsky and Kryvyi Rih districts, the head of the OVA, Valentin Reznichenko, said. A woman died in the Intercession community, a house was destroyed. In the Zelenodolsk community, a fire broke out in a city park, which was hit by the enemy from Hurricanes. The fire was extinguished, there were no casualties.

17:25 Pope Francis in his Sunday sermon urged not to let the war in Ukraine become commonplace: "Please, let's not get used to this tragic reality. Let's pray and fight for peace."

17:13 In Mariupol, the invaders have taken out the third ship of stolen Ukrainian rolled metal, which is being sent to Rostov-on-Don, Mayor's adviser Petr Andryushchenko said.

16:59 Russian Foreign Ministry Speaker Maria Zakharova said that Polish MEP Radoslav Sikorsky, who proposed returning nuclear weapons to Ukraine due to Russia's violation of the Budapest Memorandum, jeopardizes the Polish people: "Polish politicians, who are controlled by an American drive belt, display extremist ideology ", spread hatred, stir up conflicts, and now also threaten the planet with a violation of the nuclear non-proliferation regime. But most importantly, they endanger the Polish people, who are being drawn into the nuclear redistribution of the world."

16:11 During two exchanges of bodies of the dead, Ukraine received the bodies of 220 defenders of Mariupol who were at the Azovstal plant. In Kyiv, measures have begun to identify the dead, said the ex-commander of the Azov regiment Maxim Zhorin.

16:09 The EU is on the verge of a historic decision on the eve of the summit on June 23-24, where the issues of granting Ukraine candidate status will be considered, Ursula von der Leyen said: "I hope that in 20 years, remembering these events, we will be able to say that we have acted right".

15:51 Ukraine has developed routes for the export of grain through Poland and Romania, Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitry Senik said: "These routes are not ideal, but we are doing our best to develop them."

15:33 British intelligence reports that Russia is gradually advancing in Severodonetsk, using its superiority in numbers and artillery. The Russian Federation continues to seek to form additional combat units for deployment in Ukraine.

In recent weeks, preparations have probably begun for the deployment of a third battalion. Usually, no more than two of the three battalions are involved in operations at the same time. Third battalions in brigades are often understrength - Russia will likely have to rely on conscripts or mobilized reservists to move these units into Ukraine. Analysts note that deploying all three battalions at the same time is likely to reduce the long-term ability of these formations to recover from combat.

14:47 The leader of the "DPR" Pushilin said that there are no prerequisites for mitigating the "sentence" of convicted foreign "mercenaries".

14:20 In the Bryansk region, they tried to undermine the Druzhba oil pipeline, according to the Russian telegram channel Baza. Early in the morning of June 11, near the village of Gulevka, 40 km from the border with Ukraine, three explosions thundered - at the same time, a signal was triggered about the loss of communication with the pipeline valve. According to preliminary data, these were shellless explosive devices. The Druzhba pipeline itself was not damaged, but the anti-burrowing pipe and substation were damaged, and the power unit for controlling the valve was also de-energized.

In Russia, Transneft reported that there were no interruptions in the operation of the oil pipeline, pumping to Europe is proceeding according to schedule on both branches.

13:56 Ukraine cannot count on the fact that Putin will keep his word and provide safe passage for ships with grain, said German Minister of Agriculture Cem Ozdemir.

13:45 Residents of Kherson ignored the celebration of the Day of Russia - only 30-40 people came to the "triumph" organized by the occupying authorities, said the head of the Kherson Regional Council Alexander Samoylenko.

13:16 The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that Caliber missiles in the Ternopil region destroyed "a large warehouse of ATGMs, MANPADS and shells delivered to Kiev from the USA and Europe."

13:00 The area of mined territories in the Kiev region is equal to the area of Belgium, said the head of the Kiev OVA Oleksiy Kuleba. According to him, more than 41,000 explosive objects have already been discovered and destroyed in the region, but residents of the Kiev region are still asked not to enter the forests and use only paved roads.

11:05 The Japanese city of Yokohama will give Odessa 33 portable water treatment plants in case of emergency, Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan Sergey Korsunsky said: "We ask Odessa to share with Nikolaev. I want to believe that they will not be needed, but just in case, let it be." Yokohama and Odessa have been sister cities since 1965.

11:01 In the "LPR" they said that they would not storm Azot in Severodonetsk, but would blockade it, like Azovstal in Mariupol.

10:59 In Kiev, the drunken head of the department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine opened fire near one of the LCDs, next to the playground. The incident was confirmed by Reznikov. According to media reports, the bullet almost hit the child. A military facility was destroyed and four five-story civilian buildings were damaged. One of the missiles hit the gas main, so the city was cut off from gas supply, they promise to resume it by the end of today, said the head of the Ternopil OVA Vladimir Trush.

The statement by the Main Intelligence Directorate that Russia is planning a war for the next 120 days until October 2022, according to ISW, probably indicates that the Kremlin, at a minimum, has recognized the impossibility of quickly achieving its goals in Ukraine and continues to adjust its military goals in an attempt to eliminate initial disadvantages of the invasion.

19:59 The German edition of Spiegel reports that Germany has blocked the transfer of Spanish Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine. The reason for this, according to the editorial staff, is the allegedly existing agreement between the EU countries on the non-provision of tanks to the Kyiv regime.

The publication also points out that Berlin universally refuses permission to send weapons of German origin to the Nazi regime to the EU countries. Also, Germany itself at the moment has practically blocked the military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A number of Western and Ukrainian experts see this as signs of a "conspiracy" between Olaf Scholz and Vladimir Putin.

19:59 The British edition of The Guardian suggests that the monstrous losses of Ukrainian formations may lead to the fact that soon there will be no one to fight with the Russian Army. Contrary to the losses announced by Kyiv, the British are convinced that Ukrainian losses range from 600 to 1,000 people a day.

"The total number of casualties — more than 20,000 a month — raises questions about what state the Ukrainian army will be in if the war drags on until autumn. The Russian army already controls large parts of Ukraine, and they can suspend hostilities with a territorial advantage," writes The Guardian.

"They endanger the Polish people, who are being drawn into the nuclear redistribution of the world," said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

16:54 Exclusive frames successful defeat of the equipment of Ukrainian militants in the Mykolaiv direction. Artillery guns, ammunition depots and anti-aircraft installations were detected by drones and destroyed.

16:14 China: sanctions will not help end the conflict in Ukraine. China is not interested in the conflict in Ukraine, but believes that sanctions pressure will not help solve the problem, but will only complicate the situation. This was stated by Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe.

"Conflict or war is the last thing China would like to see, at the same time, we do not believe that maximum pressure or sanctions can solve the problem. They can even heighten tensions and further complicate the situation. Unfortunately, the United States has not yet come to this and the war continues."

16:12 The Russian tricolor and the state flag of Crimea were installed at the bottom of the Black Sea.

15:08 The Russian Aerospace Forces attacked the Ukrainian military base, destroying many militants, said LPR Ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik.

“In order to save the“ picture ”from the general surrender of positions in the Lisichansk-Severodonetsk direction, by order of the Zelensky Office, lumps of units of the national battalions Azov, Aidar, Donbass 1 and other formations were transferred. The units were housed in the building of a mental hospital and a vocational school, where they were overtaken by precise strikes of the Aerospace Forces today.

A large number of dead and buried under the rubble of the bodies of Ukrainian militants. Whether they will be raked is not known. They can immediately add to the list of missing persons. Now they do not like to make payments to families in the Ukrainian regime. Just written off as waste material. Privolye occupies a strategic place on a hill above Severodonetsk, Rubizhny, Kremennaya. From there, in recent weeks, incessant shelling of the surroundings has been carried out. It will be quieter today,” he wrote.

14:03 Kyiv does not exclude the exchange of the Britons Sean Pinner and Aiden Aslin, sentenced to death in the DPR, for the Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, or even a military operation to free them. This was written by the British tabloid Sunday Express, citing unnamed sources in the Ukrainian capital.

14:02 Brave discovered propaganda literature in the school of Severodonetsk. After the liberation of Severodonetsk, the Russian military got interesting trophies - namely, school textbooks that distort the real history of the world and Ukraine. Illinois 'Replacement People' employment and lodging update
[Recent road trip discovery] Rural Super-8 Hotel provides deep discounts on lodging...to some.

The Super-8 Hotel at I-64 and Illinois Route-1 vacancy problem has been solved. Owner Arpip Travidi (or somebody, perhaps the US Taxpayer) provides deeply discounted fares to English Language Challenged (ELC) long-term guests.

According to a local source, the ELC personnel, who appeared to be numerous and well fed, are employed at the nearby (historically low paying) PetroClear Oil Filter manufacturing facility. A sharp increase in SNAP food supplement use has also been reported.

Appears to be something of a paradox however. as PetroClear produces a wide range of filter products which support the evil carbon producing, fossil fuel and combustion engine industry. Perhaps someone here, could explain.

ELC personnel appeared to keep to themselves in small groups and were frequently viewed communicating via iFone in a native tongue or prayer language.

Super-8 owner Arpip Travidi (dot not feather) was unavailable for comment.

The Dow falls 880 points as 'transitory' inflation hits 40-year high
(CNN) -- It's been yet another week of losses for US markets after steep drops on Friday.

The Dow plunged after a key inflation report missed estimates and showed a higher-than-anticipated increase in the price of consumer goods, closing down 880 points for the day, or 2.5%. The S&P 500 shed 2.7% and the Nasdaq dropped about 3%.

The May consumer price index rose 8.6% year-over-year, its highest level since 1981. Economists had forecast an 8.3% increase. The core index, which excludes food and energy prices, rose by 6%, slightly higher than estimates of 5.9%.

Those numbers sent investors reeling. Already worried about a possible economic downturn, they now fear that the Federal Reserve will recognize inflation as entrenched in the economy and increase interest rates further.

The central bank is expected to announce a half-percent interest rate hike next week, but based on this news it could decide to go higher.

"We think the US central bank now has good reason to surprise markets by hiking more aggressively than expected in June," wrote Barclays analysts in a research note on Friday. "We realize it is a close call and that it could play out in either June or July. But we are changing our forecast to call for a 75 [basis point] hike on June 15."

The move would be historic -- the last time the Fed delivered a 75 basis point hike was in November of 1994, nearly three decades ago.

Analysts appeared to be unhappily pricing in the potential for the interest rate hike on Friday. And while many analysts feared that the Federal Reserve was doing too little too late to curb rising inflation rates, they also worrythat sudden large increases in interest rates will do damage to the economy.

"The major risk to consumption, employment, and the economy overall, isn't an organic growth slowdown, but the extent to which extreme energy and food price increases could cause central banks to push against the string, and [the economy could] essentially fall into a damaging policy mistake," wrote Rick Rieder, chief investment officer of Global Fixed Income at BlackRock in a note.

The sell-off on Friday was broad in scope, with stocks in the red on the New York Stock Exchange outnumbering stocks that increased by about nine to one.

Sarah Palin leads in special primary for Alaska's House seat
[Guardian] Former Alaska governor and Republican ex-vice presidential candidate Sarah Mama Grizzly Palin
... the babe libs love to hate ...
leads in early results from Saturday’s special primary for the state’s only US House seat in what could be a remarkable political re-emergence.

Voters in the far north-western state are whittling down the list of 48 candidates running for the position that was held for 49 years by the late US Representative Don Young.

The early results showed Palin, endorsed by Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
, with 29.8% of the votes counted so far; Republican Nick Begich had 19.3%; independent Al Gross had 12.5%; Democrat Mary Peltola with 7.5%; and Republican Tara Sweeney had 5.3%.

A candidate whose name is Santa Claus, a self-described "independent, progressive, democratic socialist", had 4.5%.

In a statement Palin said she was looking forward to "fixing this country by responsibly developing Alaska’s God-given resources" and then expressed rightwing talking points on gun rights, child sacrifice abortion and a desire for a smaller government.

The top four vote-getters, regardless of party affiliation, will advance to an August special election in which ranked choice voting will be used. The winner of the special election will serve the remainder of Young’s term, which ends in January. Young died in March at age 88.

This election was unlike any the state has seen, crammed with candidates and conducted primarily by mail. This was the first election, too, under a system approved by voters in 2020 that ends party primaries and uses ranked choice voting in general elections.

Saturday marked the first ballot count; state elections officials plan additional counts on Wednesday and Friday, and a final count on 21 June. They have targeted 25 June to certify the race.

Home Depot workers don't have the right to wear BLM gear on the job: judge
[NYPOST] Home Depot workers do not have the right to wear Black Lives Matter merchandise or imagery while on the job, a federal judge has ruled.

In his ruling Friday, administrative judge Paul Bogas rejected a complaint from the US National Labor Relations Board that the home improvement retailer violated employees’ rights by barring them from displaying BLM gear, Bloomberg News said in a report.

Bogas wrote that the BLM moniker lacked "an objective and sufficiently direct relationship to terms and conditions of employment."

BLM’s message "originated and is primarily used to address the unjustified killings of black individuals by law enforcement," he wrote.

"To the extent the message is being used for reasons beyond that, it operates as a political umbrella for societal concerns and related to the workplace only in the sense that workplaces are part of society," the judge said.

With all such things, I apply a simple application rule.
If I substituted WHITE would people be screaming Racist/Racism?

Since BLM is openly a BLACK ONLY based Group, therefore it is Racist.

Allowing any BLM, KKK or Neo-Nazi display would be promoting racism and therefore all are unacceptable.

But wait for it.
The LSD's & BLM will likely resort to a Social Media smear campaign and go ape $hit trying to create a 60++ year link to a former founder's great grand father.

Employers need to get out of, and keep Social Politics out of, their operations and just run a business.

Science & Technology
EV road trip from HELL
[Breitbart] The Wall Street Journal reported this weekend on a four-day road trip from New Orleans to Chicago and back in an electric vehicle (EV) that ended up as a disaster — one that left the author grateful for her ordinary car, even at today’s high gas price.

The Journal article, by Rachel Wolfe, was titled: "I Rented an Electric Car for a Four-Day Road Trip. I Spent More Time Charging It Than I Did Sleeping." In it, the author described planning the journey, using the PlugShare app to map charging stations and estimate charging times, based on the relative strength of each public charging station. She noted that more charging stations should, in theory, be available in future, thanks to the federal government’s new infrastructure bill.

For now, however, long-distance travel by electric vehicle proved almost impossible, saving just $100 and costing hours. At several points, Wolfe recalled, the car nearly ran out of battery; they missed several appointments. They also had to take drastic steps to curb their use of power, such as unplugging their phones and turning down their windshield wipers.

She wrote: "Over four days, we spent $175 on charging. We estimated the equivalent cost for gas in a Kia Forte would have been $275, based on the AAA average national gas price for May 19. That $100 savings cost us many hours in waiting time."

Wolfe also described conversations with fellow travelers: "The woman charging next to us describes a harrowing recent trip in her Volkswagen ID.4. Deborah Carrico, 65, had to be towed twice while driving between her Louisville, Ky., apartment and Boulder, Colo., where her daughter was getting married." She noted that the woman had described feeling unsafe while charging at night, and that her family had urged her to trade in her electric car in favor of an old-fashioned gas model.

#8  As long as you stay in a 75 mile radius from home, you are OK

As long as it is not winter, since range falls with temperature.

If I remember my chemistry, reaction rates fall by half for every 10 degree Centigrade decrease in temperature. This reduces EV range. I suspect this also means longer charging times but I have seen this discussed.
