Khost Tribal Elders Seek Reopening of Education Centers for Women
[ToloNews] Some tribal elders in the southeastern province of Khost
...which coincidentally borders North Wazoo and Kurram Agency...
called on the Islamic Emirate to reopen education centers for women and allow them to work in government and non-governmental organizations.

They suggested that if a proper decision is not made, the distance between the Islamic Emirate and people will extend.

"The women should be given permission to work in the organizations and it would be better to reopen schools for girls considering the Islamic hijab," said Shahpoor, a tribal elder.

"If there is no, a human would be like a deaf and blind. We call on all officials of the Islamic Emirate to lighten the candle of our education," said Simeen Khan Zadran, a tribal elder.

"If women are needed in various organizations, they must be allowed to work within the Islamic rules and our traditional customs," said Toryalai Mangal, a tribal elder.

Speaking to a gathering in Khost, the deputy minister of tribal affairs and borders, Abdul Khaliq Abid, said the views of Islamic holy mans and elders are essential for the Islamic Emirate.

"We want to sit with our elders and holy mans and consult with them and listen to their ideas and also learn from them about the protection of religion," he said.

This comes as the ban on women and girls from education and working in NGOs has sparked reactions at national and international levels.

Arabia
Oman, once thought to be next Abraham Accords signer, criminalizes ties with Israel
[IsraelTimes] Gulf state long had closer ties to Jerusalem than its neighbors, but is now likely pushing back against Netanyahu government, trying to placate Iran, experts say
and placate Biden's regime
Just a few years ago, Oman was expected to be next in line after Morocco, Sudan, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates to sign onto the Abraham Accords normalization agreements with Israel.

On Friday, the country’s parliament voted to criminalize any relations or interactions with "the Zionist entity."

While the exact details have not been made public, the new law seems to be broadly applied.

"The brothers, Your Excellencies, looked at the development taking place, whether it was technical, cultural, economic or sports, and proposed additional amendments that include severing any economic, sports or cultural relations and prohibiting dealing in any way or means, whether it was a real meeting, an electronic meeting or something else," said Yaqoub al-Harithi, vice president of the Omani parliament, about the bill, according to Oman’s WAF news agency.

The sultanate at the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, where the Indian Ocean meets the Persian Gulf, was for a long time closer to Israel than other states in the region. Oman never took part in any war with the Jewish state and established unofficial trade relations with Israel in the early 2000s.

Omani Sultan Qaboos Bin Said welcomed three Israeli prime ministers to his country: Yitzhak Rabin in 1994, Shimon Peres in 1996 and Benjamin Netanyahu in 2018. Rabin’s visit was the first by an Israeli prime minister to a Gulf nation.

Under Qaboos’ leadership, Oman carved a niche for itself as the Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
of the Middle East, able to deal simultaneously with countries such as Israel, Iran, Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
, Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
and Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
, all while maintaining a sense of neutrality. The country has been an important middleman in everything from the Iranian nuclear talks to Yemeni Civil War negotiations.

So what happened?

Sultan Qaboos, who was the longest-reigning ruler of the Middle East’s oldest independent state, died in 2020 with no heirs. Rulership passed to his cousin Haitham Bin Tariq.

Though Sultan Haitham, upon his inauguration, announced that he would follow in his predecessor’s peace-making footsteps, he has moved closer to Iran, which funds terror groups throughout the region.

While Saudi Arabia opened its airspace for Israeli flights earlier this year, Oman has held out on opening its own, blocking the most direct route for some flights from Israel to Asia. In doing so, Oman has received pressure from US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing...
’s administration to open its skies.

However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
the developments al-Harithi is referring to in his statement could include the rise of Israel’s new right-wing, far-right and religious government, which has already provoked anger well beyond the Middle East.

"What also potentially fuels this is a recent call by a number of Arab countries, including the UAE, to go to the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
and condemn Israel over the recent rise of [Itamar] Ben-Gvir," Nir Boms, the director of the Program for Regional Cooperation at the Moshe Dayan Center of Tel Aviv University, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

Protesting Israel "remains one of the few unifying factors in the Arab world," Boms said.

For more Islamist-leaning factions across the region, "The issues around Israel are coming to a point where they need to have a counter-reaction and come back to a boycott policy," he said.

Another reason may be fear of Iran, which is conducting military exercises off of Oman’s coast and is reeling from months of domestic protests.

"The last thing Muscat wants is for the Gulf to become a battlefield with attacks on western shipping, resulting in the closure of the Straits of Hormuz," said Tom Gross, a British journalist and Middle East expert. "Oman, like Qatar, is trying to calm Iran. Their message is: ’We are not the ones rushing to form relations with Israel so don’t take it out on us.’"

Despite the bill, Gross thinks that Omani relations with Israel will continue as they always have, under the table.

"The Omani vote was primarily designed to appease the Iranian regime. There is a feeling in intelligence circles that the counter-revolutionary uprising in Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
has passed the point of no return and as a result the regime in Tehran may try to externalize its domestic problems," Gross said. "Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch clutched at his leg. Son of a Breech! he exclaimed with feeling......
relations with Israel will likely continue, albeit more quietly."

#1  From what I remember seeing, Oman is invaded on a daily basis by a constant barrage of Iranian smuggling boats across the Straits of Hormuz. To me there seems little chance that the IRGC has not infiltrated and cannot run ops there.

Iran vows response to Khamenei cartoons in French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo
Both articles show some of the published cartoons, some of which are very vulgar, indeed.
[IsraelTimes] Iranian minister says ’insulting and indecent act’ won’t pass without response; caricatures published to mark 8th anniversary of deadly attack on magazine’s Gay Paree office.

Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
warned La Belle France on Wednesday it would respond after "insulting" cartoons depicting Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...
were published in the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo
...A lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe...
The weekly had published dozens of cartoons on the same day ridiculing the highest religious and political figure in the Islamic Theocratic Republic.

The magazine said the cartoons were part of a competition it launched in December in support of the protests triggered by the September 16 death in jug of Mahsa Amini, an Iranian Kurd who was arrested for allegedly violating the country’s strict dress code for women.

"The insulting and indecent act of a French publication in publishing cartoons against the religious and political authority will not go without an effective and decisive response," tweeted Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

"We will not allow the French government to go beyond its bounds. They have definitely chosen the wrong path."

The French magazine said the contest aimed "to support the struggle of Iranians who are fighting for their freedom."

Iranian authorities say hundreds of people, including members of the security forces, have been killed and thousands arrested in what they generally describe as "riots," and have accused hostile foreign powers and opposition groups of stoking the unrest.

Charlie Hebdo published the caricatures in an special edition to mark the anniversary of a deadly attack on its Gay Paree office on January 7, 2015, by assailants who said they were acting on behalf of al-Qaeda to avenge the magazine’s decision to publish cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed.

Iran calls in French envoy over magazine’s vulgar Khamenei cartoons

[IsraelTimes] Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
has summoned the French ambassador to condemn the publication of offensive caricatures of the country’s Lord High Potentate and Supreme Leader of All He Surveys Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...
in the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo
...A lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe...
The magazine has a long history of publishing vulgar cartoons mocking Islamists, which critics say are deeply insulting to Moslems. Two French-born al-Qaeda holy warriors attacked the newspaper’s office in 2015, killing 12 cartoonists, and it has been the target of other attacks over the years.

Its January issue features the winners of a recent cartoon contest in which entrants were asked to draw the most offensive caricatures of Khamenei, who has held Iran’s highest office since 1989. The contest was billed as a show of support for anti-government protests rocking Iran.

One of the finalists depicts a turbaned holy man reaching for a hangman’s noose as he drowns in blood, while another shows Khamenei clinging to a giant throne above the raised fists of protesters. Others depict more vulgar and sexually explicit scenes.

Biden roasted for announcing he will visit the southern border after two years: 'Too little, too late'
[FoxNews] After President Biden announced Wednesday that he plans to visit the U.S.-Mexico border during his trip to Mexico next week, conservatives on social media blasted the president for having waited so long to make a trip.

Since taking office, the Biden administration has seen record illegal immigrant crossings. As of last week, there were over 600,000 total migrant encounters at the border since Oct. 1. This set a new record for the months of October, November, and December.

Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who Biden appointed to lead on the border crisis, have been criticized throughout their time in office, for not visiting the southern border. Two years later, it appears Biden is finally going to visit.

However, Republicans are saying it's a too late.
A bunch of critical tweets can be seen at the link.

Biden says he hopes to see 'peace and security' if he visits the southern border next week and will make a migration speech TOMORROW - after a surge in migrants and courts keep Title 42 in place

Man who attacked cops in Times Square allegedly motivated by US support of Israel
[IsraelTimes] Trevor Bickford, 19, traveled to New York to ’carry out jihad,’ say prosecutors, who charged Maine resident with assault and attempted murder in New Year’s Eve attack.

The machete-wielding man who allegedly attacked coppers near Times Square on New Year’s Eve was motivated by Islamist extremism, New York City prosecutors said Wednesday.

Trevor Bickford, 19, traveled to New York "to kill people and carry out jihad," the Manhattan District Attorney’s office told a state court.

Bickford — from Wells, a small coastal town in Maine — was remanded in jug Wednesday at the government’s request following his arraignment on assault and attempted murder charges.

Assistant DA Lucy Nicholas told the hearing that Bickford "specifically traveled" to New York via Boston with the intention of murdering babus government employees.

He is accused of attacking three officers shortly after 10:00 p.m. just outside the Times Square security zone where tens of thousands had gathered to celebrate the New Year.

Bickford allegedly hit two officers on the head, without causing life-threatening injury, before another officer used his service weapon to wound him in the shoulder.

Following his arrest, Bickford told detectives that he shouted "Allahu Akbar" before the attack, according to the prosecutors’ complaint.

"I walked up and hit him over the head with a kukri. I charged another officer but dropped the knife and I tried to get the police officer’s gun but couldn’t," Bickford told police.

Nicholas said Bickford also stated that "all government officials" were a target for him "as they cannot be proper Moslems because the United States government supports Israel."

CNN

SDPI members acted like a ‘terrorist gang’ during 2020 Bengaluru riots: Report
[OneIndia] The members of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the political wing of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) acted like a terrorist gang the magisterial inquiry into the KG Halli and DJ Halli violence concluded.

The report said that the SDPI conspired to strike terror among the people and police authorities.

On December 22, the Cabinet accepted the magisterial inquiry report submitted by the Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner on the sequence of events, reasons and the death of three miscreants, a Deccan Herald report said. K J Halli and D J Halli witnessed widespread violence in August 2020. The report also gave a clean chit to the police action of lathi-charge and firing.

The report said that the illegal acts committed by the unlawful assembly, are not only due to the alleged Facebook post by P Naveen who is the nephew of Pulakeshinagar MLA, Akhanda Srinivas Murthy, but due to a large conspiracy by members of the SDPI members.

On August 11, 2020, a violent mostly peaceful crowd gathered in front of the cop shoppes and began pelting stones and set fire to the vehicles.

"During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the accused persons conspired with each other to form an unlawful assembly to protest against the decisions of courts and government in cases relating to the Citizenship Amendment Act, the National Register of Citizens (NRC), The Moslem Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act (popularly known as Triple Talaq Act) and the final judgment in the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi dispute," the report stated.

"During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the accused persons conspired with each other to form an unlawful assembly to protest against the decisions of courts and government in cases relating to the Citizenship Amendment Act, the National Register of Citizens (NRC), The Moslem Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act (popularly known as Triple Talaq Act) and the final judgment in the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi dispute," the note also said.

It further said that despite all precautionary measures, the chances of the riots spreading to other areas was very high. Hence it was inevitable for the police to take full control of the situation.

Police chief denies arrests made in suicide attack
[Dawn] The capital police chief on Wednesday contradicted the interior minister’s claim, which he made on Dec 27, 2022, that four to five bandidos bandidos hard boys involved in the I-10/4 kaboom had been arrested.

In a presser, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Akbar Nasir Khan, while sitting besides Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, said the jacket wallah’s identity had been disclosed, however, details of the network involved in the blast could not be shared due to the ongoing investigation.

"The arrest of the network members is under consideration," the IGP said, adding that "investigations are underway and you will be informed whenever any arrest is made".

On Dec 27, a statement issued by the interior ministry stated that Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, in an interview with a private channel, had said that those involved in the suicide kaboom in Islamabad had been arrested.

The minister further said the suspects had stayed in Rawalpindi after coming from Kurram Agency
...home of an intricately interconnected web of poverty, ignorance, and religious fanaticism, where the laws of cause and effect are assumed to be suspended, conveniently located adjacent to Tora Bora...
, it added. The minister also claimed the arrest of handlers and said four to five people had been rounded up.

The police chief further said two persons were arrested in connection with a video that went viral on social media in which they claimed that the TTP had reached the Parliament House. Joint efforts of the Inter-Services Intelligence

A case was registered against them with the Counter-Terrorism Department Islamabad, IGP Khan said, adding that they were in police custody on a seven-day remand. Their networks are visible on social media, and with the cooperation of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) efforts are being made to eliminate them, the IGP said, adding that the arrested persons were active on social media.

According to the FIR the arrests were made from Fatehjang Road following a tip from an informer.

They are active members of TTP and 500 grams of explosives, detonators and other items were recovered from them, it added.

#1  As always, the globalists continue to hate the patriotic nature of the military members while they use the military itself for their globalist agenda. I saw a taste of the schizophrenic nature of it during the beat downs that retired military received during the Ottawa protests. Trudeau would have liked to use the military to arrest their vets. Does he want military personnel jailed for participating in his Syrian policy? If he can get away with it, probably yes.

Army razes homes, pens in southern West Bank hamlets
Some 1,000 residents of the eight hamlets that make up Masafer Yatta are slated for expulsion, an order Israel’s Supreme Court upheld in May after a two-decade legal battle.
[IsraelTimes] The Israeli military has demolished homes, water tanks and olive orchards in the Paleostinian villages of Ma’in and Shaab al-Butum in the southern West Bank, residents and activist muppets say.

According to images shared by local residents and activist muppets, armored vehicles escorted construction equipment to the demolitions Tuesday.

Shaab al-Butum sits inside an arid area of the West Bank known as Masafer Yatta, which the Israeli military has designated as a live-fire training zone. Some 1,000 residents of the eight hamlets that make up Masafer Yatta are slated for expulsion, an order Israel’s Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
upheld in May after a two-decade legal battle.

Ma’in sits just outside the firing zone, some two kilometers (1.2 miles) from Shaab al-Butum.

Guy Butavia, an activist muppet with the Israeli rights group Taayush, says the army razed five homes, animal pens and cisterns, spilling the contents of people’s lives out onto the cold desert.

Most residents of the area have remained in place since the ruling, even as Israeli security forces periodically roll in to demolish structures. But they could be forced out at any time.

Local officials and rights groups said Israeli defense officials have informed them that they would soon forcibly remove more than 1,000 residents from the area.

COGAT, the Israeli defense body that deals with Paleostinian civilian affairs, declined to comment.

Iran’s semi-official ISNA news agency said Taraneh Alidoosti, the 38-year-old star of Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar-winning "The Salesman," was released on bail. Her mother, Nadere Hakimelahi, had earlier said she would be released in a post on Instagram.

After her release from the notorious Evin Prison in Tehran on Wednesday, Alidoosti posed with flowers among her friends. No further details have been released about her case.

Alidoosti was among several Iranian celebrities to express support for the nationwide protests and criticize the authorities’ violent mostly peaceful crackdown on dissent. She had posted at least three messages in support of the protests on Instagram before her account was disabled.

One message had expressed solidarity with the first man to be executed on charges linked to the protests, which were triggered by the death of a woman in police custody and have escalated into widespread calls for the overthrow of holy manal rule.

The protests mark one of the biggest challenges to the Islamic Theocratic Republic since it was established after the 1979 revolution, and have prompted a heavy crackdown by security forces, who have used live ammunition, bird shot and tear gas to disperse protesters, according to rights groups.

Mohsen Shekari was executed December 9 after being charged by an Iranian court with blocking a street in Tehran and attacking a member of the country’s security forces with a machete. A week later, Iran executed a second prisoner, Majidreza Rahnavard, by public hanging. He had been accused of stabbing two members of the paramilitary Basij militia, which is leading the crackdown.

Activists say at least a dozen people have been sentenced to death in closed-door hearings over charges linked to the protests.

″His name was Mohsen Shekari," Alidoosti wrote on an account with some 8 million followers before her arrest. "Every international organization who is watching this bloodshed and not taking action, is a disgrace to humanity."

At least 516 protesters have been killed and over 19,000 people have been arrested, according to Human Rights Activists in Iran, a group that has closely monitored the unrest. Iranian authorities have not provided an official count of those killed or detained.

Khamenei, who has said little about the protests, spoke about Islamic dress on Wednesday in a meeting with women, saying the hijab is necessary but that those who do not "completely observe" the practice "should not be accused of being non-religious or against the revolution."

Even before the protests, many Iranian women wore the headscarf loosely, and authorities sometimes eased off on enforcing it, particularly during the presidency of Hassan Rouhani
...Iran's moderate president, which he is, relative to his predecessor, which doesn't mean he's anything but a puppet of the nearest holy man...
, a relative moderate who governed from 2013 to 2021. His successor, the hardliner Ebrahim Raisi, had moved to tighten the restrictions.

Alidoosti had previously criticized the Iranian government and its police force before this year’s protests.

In June 2020, she was given a suspended five-month prison sentence after she criticized the police on Twitter in 2018 for assaulting a woman who had removed her headscarf.

Syrian militants intend to accuse the Russian Armed Forces of unfounded attacks
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] In the zone of de-escalation of the conflict in Syria, which is located on the territory of the province of Idlib, a provocation is being prepared to denigrate Russia. This was stated by Deputy Head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, Major General Oleg Yegorov.

According to him, the militants are preparing to shell the places where the Syrian and Russian troops are based. They intend to videotape retaliatory strikes, blaming Russia for the deaths of civilians. The footage will be prepared for posting on social networks.

“According to the information received by the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties, the militants of the Hayat Tahrir ash-Sham terrorist organization (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) are preparing a provocation in the Idlib de-escalation zone,” said Oleg Yegorov.

The directions of El-Atarib and Kafr-Jum may be subjected to shelling. A retaliatory attack is expected to cover the refugee camp.

As REGNUM reported , an American military base in northeast Syria was subjected to rocket fire. As a result of the attack, no one was injured, and no damage was done to the base or coalition property.
