Report says Russian government is operating network of camps where it has held thousands of Ukrainian children since start of war
We’ve been seeing repeated reports of this kind of thing from the Ukrainian side throughout this campaign.
[CNN] The Russian government is operating an expansive network of dozens of camps where it has held thousands of Ukrainian children since the start of the war against Ukraine last year, according to a new report released Tuesday.

The report contains disturbing new details about the extent of Moscow’s efforts to relocate, re-educate, and sometimes militarily train or forcibly adopt out Ukrainian children — actions that constitute war crimes and could provide evidence that Russia’s actions amount to genocide, it said.

The report was produced as a part of the work of the US State Department-backed Conflict Observatory by the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab. The Observatory was established last year to gather evidence of Russian war crimes in Ukraine.

"All levels of Russia’s government are involved," Yale Humanitarian Research Lab’s Nathaniel Raymond told reporters Tuesday.

"Consider this report a gigantic Amber Alert that we are issuing on Ukraine’s children," he said.

The report found that found that more than 6,000 children — ranging in age from mere months old to 17 — have been in Russian custody at some point during the course of the nearly year-long war, although the "total number of children is not known and is likely significantly higher than 6,000."

It identified 43 facilities that are a part of the network, which "stretches from one end of Russia to the other," including Russian-occupied Crimea, the "eastern Pacific Coast — closer to Alaska than it is to Moscow," and Siberia, Raymond said.

"The primary purpose of the camps appears to be political reeducation," he said, noting that at least 32 of the facilities identified in the report "appear to be engaged in systematic re-education efforts that expose children from Ukraine to Russia-centric academic, cultural, patriotic, and in two cases, specifically military education."

The report found that “many children taken to camps are sent with the consent of their parents for an agreed duration of days or weeks and returned to their parents as originally scheduled,” but noted that “in many cases, the ability of parents to provide meaningful consent may be considered doubtful, as the conditions of war and implicit threat from occupying forces represent conditions of duress.”

“Other children have been held for months at these camps, including hundreds of children whose status is unknown; at the time of this report, it is unclear if they have been returned to their families. This report has identified two camps where children’s scheduled return date has been delayed by weeks. At two other camps identified, children’s returns have been indefinitely postponed,” it stated.

Still other children were deemed to be “orphans” and placed with Russian families.
The Times of Israel adds:
The report called for a neutral body to be granted access to the camps and for Russia immediately to stop the adoptions of Ukrainian children.

Ukraine’s government recently said that more than 14,700 children have been deported to Russia where some have been sexually exploited.

The US report, which relied on satellite imagery and public accounts, said that at least 6,000 children have been sent to camps but that the number is "likely significantly higher."

Russia has cast the effort as saving orphans or bringing children for medical care. Some parents were pressured to give consent to send away their children, sometimes with hopes they would return, the report said.

It said that Russian authorities have sought to provide a pro-Moscow viewpoint to children through school curricula as well as through field trips to patriotic sites and talks from veterans.

Children have also been given training in firearms, although Raymond said there was no evidence they were being sent back to fight.

Russia invaded Ukraine a year ago, with Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
denying the historical legitimacy of the neighboring country and in September formally declaring four regions to be part of Russia.

The study said that Putin aides have been closely involved in the operation, especially Maria Lvova-Belova, the presidential commissioner for children’s rights.

It quoted her as saying that 350 children have been adopted by Russian families and that more than 1,000 were awaiting adoption.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: February 14th, 2023
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] 23:24 Russia has created dozens of centers where it contains at least 6,000 children taken out of Ukraine. The main goal of such centers is "political re-education" - children are surrounded by Russian-centric science, cultural-patriotic and military education, according to the Conflict Observatory initiative founded by the US State Department.

23:21 In the EU, under the leadership of Sweden, a working group will be created to study the possibility of using the frozen assets of the Russian Federation to restore Ukraine, said Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. The decision on the powers of the working group will be made on February 15.

23:18 Western intelligence reports that Russia is stockpiling aircraft near the border with Ukraine, writes the Financial Times. This indicates that the Russian Federation is preparing to support its faltering ground offensive. Fear of an air war in Ukraine has prompted allies to prioritize the rapid delivery of air defense systems and artillery munitions to Kyiv to respond to Russia's shift in approach, Western officials say.

23:14 The CNN TV channel published an investigation about the assault unit of the Russian army , formed from prisoners. One of the prisoners interviewed by journalists said that he was part of a group of 130 people. Of these, no more than 40 remained - the rest either died or were seriously injured. The unit became known as Storm Trooper.

23:08 Zelensky said that the situation on the front line, especially in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, remains extremely difficult: "These are literally battles for every meter of Ukrainian land. We must understand the significance of these battles. Every meter won there is the defense of our entire states. Every day that our heroes endured in Bakhmut, in Vuhledar, in Marinka and other cities and communities of Donbass, is a reduction in Russian aggression for weeks. It is there that the unprecedented destruction of Russian potential is now taking place. Everything that the enemy loses in our Donbass, it will no longer be able to restore. And this is exactly the potential of Russian aggression, from which the leadership of the terrorist state expected the destruction of all of Ukraine."

22:46 Washington is considering the transfer to Ukraine of thousands of small arms seized from smugglers off the coast of Yemen. U.S. officials told The Wall Street Journal they are considering transferring more than 5,000 small arms, more than 1.5 million rounds of ammunition, as well as a small number of anti-tank missiles and about 7,000 proximity explosives to Ukraine.

The challenge for the Biden administration is to find a legal basis for withdrawing weapons from one conflict and transferring them to another. The UN arms embargo requires the US and its allies to destroy, retain or dispose of seized weapons.

22:33 Zelensky said in an evening video message about "another strong decisions" to protect Ukraine following the Ramstein meeting: "Confirmed by partners more air defense, more tanks, more artillery and shells, more training for our military. Not everything about Ramstein can be reported publicly, significant part of the agreements and discussions should be left behind closed doors, but I can say with confidence that the basic trends remain unchanged."

22:15 A meeting of the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine, an association of more than 50 countries, also known as the Ramstein Coalition, was held in Brussels. About the main results of the meeting - in the material they will support the offensive .

21:56 Spain will train 55 Ukrainian soldiers to work with Leopard tanks, Defense Minister Margarita Robles said. According to her, Ukrainian tankers will arrive for training before the end of the week.

21:32 The German newspaper Nordsee Zeitung published a photo from the port of Bremergafen, where American military equipment arrives. In the port, they noticed 60 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, which the United States promised to supply to Ukraine, as well as 280 units of other equipment.

20:48 Ukrainian fighters are not going to surrender Bakhmut, a multi-echelon defense has been organized in the city, said Deputy Commander of the Svoboda Battalion, Lieutenant of the National Guard Volodymyr Nazarenko.

20:07 Greece, within the framework of military assistance to Ukraine, provided ammunition and 20 BMP-1 armored vehicles, the country's Ministry of Defense reported.

19:12 The Cabinet of Ministers has created an interdepartmental working group on humanitarian demining, the main task of which will be to coordinate all authorities, as well as to determine a strategy and a roadmap. The working group will be headed by First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko. According to Shmyhal, this is also a step towards the creation of a state institution, the Center for Humanitarian Demining, which will allow a systematic approach to solving the problem.

18:31 The Russians continue to focus their main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupyansky, Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Shakhtyorsky directions. Enemy aviation is actively operating, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in the evening summary.

On the territory of the Kadamovsky training ground in the Russian Federation, in the training center, approximately two brigades of Russian military personnel from among the mobilized and "volunteers" are being trained. The main part goes through a three-week training course, separate groups - a two-week course. As a result - a low level of readiness to perform tasks.

According to the General Staff, since the beginning of this year, training of Wagner PMC mercenaries has not been carried out on the territory of the training ground. The instructors of the training center are involved in training directly in the area of combat operations.

18:18 Washington now sees no signs of a possible Russian attack on Kiev, said Mark Milley, head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff: "There is always a potential threat to Kiev, threats from the air, threats of missile strikes. Kiev is the capital and is an important target in this war "I would never rule out the possibility of the Russian Federation attacking Kiev. But as of now, we are not seeing any significant indications or warnings."

18:07 The head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, called the battle of Bakhmut the largest in terms of losses at the moment. He also believes that the Ukrainian forces will not retreat from the city: “The most dynamic shift of the front line in both directions in general takes place in the Bakhmut area. The Ukrainians are changing, they are fighting on the defensive; the Russians, primarily the Wagner group, are attacking. I would describe it like an extremely protracted battle of attrition with a very high level of casualties, especially on the Russian side... I don't think the Ukrainians will just break down and lose, they will keep fighting."

18:02 Reznikov said that he had a meeting with Stoltenberg: "NATO has declared Russia the biggest and most direct threat. While our soldiers are defending peace in Europe, Ukraine has de facto joined NATO. I am doing everything possible to make this happen de jure" .

17:58 The head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, said following the Ramstein meeting that he had no news about the supply of combat aircraft to Ukraine. At the same time, he stressed that the allies will continue to work with Kiev to solve the most pressing needs, and recalled that Ukraine is preparing for a counteroffensive in the spring.

According to the US Secretary of Defense, now cooperation with Ukraine is focused on how to teach the Ukrainian military to use new systems and deliver them to the battlefield.

17:47 In February, Ukraine plans to raise more than $2 billion from the United States, the World Bank and other donors, Shmyhal said. According to him, in January Kyiv received $4.2 billion from the European Union and the United States. "We need these funds for critical expenses: financing salaries and pensions, education and medicine," the prime minister explained.

17:45 Russia is trying to deprive Ukrainians of access to water supply: after the partial destruction and deliberate opening by the Russians of the locks of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, Ukraine loses thousands of cubic meters of water every day. Therefore, part of the settlements that receive water from the Dnieper may be left without access to drinking water, Shmyhal said.

Even more, according to the prime minister, is the nuclear threat: “A decrease in the water level in the storage facility can lead to improper functioning of the cooling systems of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. Therefore, the civilized world should not be silent. Ukraine calls on all available means to put pressure on Russia so that it closes the floodgates and restores hydraulic structures at the Kakhovskaya HPP, or allowed Ukrainian specialists to do it."

17:31 Zelensky said that he met with Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly in Kiev: "He spoke about the priority needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. We discussed in detail further cooperation in the field of security and defense. Canada's support for the Ukrainian army is invaluable."

17:27 Negotiations on the supply of F-16 fighters to Ukraine are likely to bring results, but this requires pressure, says Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak: "This case requires, like Patriots or Leopards, to put pressure on the allies. We are aware that our potential in this area is limited. We only have 48 F-16s, but the allies have much more potential. I think that this conversation will also end in positive decisions, but this requires pressure."

17:16 Reznikov said he was "very pleased" with the results of today's meeting in the Ramstein format. According to him, the meeting was attended by representatives of 54 countries, which means that "the anti-Kremlin coalition is growing."

"I want to say that I heard clear messages from all representatives: this is full support for Ukraine until victory. And everyone believes that Ukraine's victory is precisely on the battlefield ... We continued to talk about training our units so that they The equipment that we are given carried out the tasks of the General Staff to liberate the temporarily occupied territories," the minister added.

17:09 The restoration of the Ukrainian energy system is proceeding at a record pace, which no one expected, Volodymyr Kudrytsky, Chairman of the Board of NPC Ukrenergo, said: “We are performing this work several times faster than before. Therefore, it just takes time to eliminate all the bottlenecks in the network. I think that even those restrictions that may still be in some regions - for example, Odessa or Kiev - are not catastrophic. I hope we will be able to get rid of them in the near future."

17:02 Allies plan to provide Ukraine with 100 billion euros of aid in 2023, Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said: “We are trying to help Ukraine by allocating approximately 100 billion euros together this year. This should be our goal, because now this figure is less ".

He also advocated a more active implementation of joint arms purchases at the EU level: “I would like us to move on to joint arms purchases. We would like the EU to jointly purchase at least a million shells for Ukraine. This is very important in order to support their fighting ability."

16:58 NATO is developing instructions in case of participation in a conflict that goes beyond the alliance's area of responsibility, writes Bloomberg. According to the agency, plans are being drawn up in the event of participation in a "high-intensity conflict", where countries will have to protect each other, using the fifth article of the NATO Charter. At a meeting in Brussels this week, the bloc's defense ministers are expected to sign these new policy instructions.

16:49 The Cabinet of Ministers approved fast-track for drones - this is the first resolution that will speed up and simplify the import of military and dual-use goods into Ukraine, in particular, UAVs and components, said Mikhail Fedorov, head of the Ministry of Digital Development. "In simple terms - no more documents from the export control service or other authorities for the import of drones, etc. And the above act is only the first among those being developed," the minister explained.

Fedorov added that Ukraine is working on the creation of 60 UAV strike companies and a new doctrine for their use.

16:15 Russia is launching balloons with corner reflectors into the airspace of Ukraine, Yury Ignat, speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told the UP. The balls move in air currents at low speed, they are used for reconnaissance and distraction of air defense.

15:38 The New York Times published the moment when a Russian anti-tank missile hit the car of a team of volunteers in Bakhmut on February 2. Then the head of the Global Response Medicine group, American Pete Reed, died and five volunteers were injured, including Norwegians Sander Sersven Trelvik and Simon Johnsen.

15:17 Four Leopard 2 tanks that Canada is transferring to Ukraine have been delivered to Poland, and 25 Canadian instructors have already begun training Ukrainian tankers, Defense Minister Anita Anand said.

14:39 In Nova Kakhovka, partisans blew up a car with four Russians - two were killed, two were in serious condition, the National Resistance reports. It is known that in the car there were Russian servicemen and representatives of special services.

14:36 Training of 18 Ukrainian prosecutors and police officers to investigate war crimes has begun in Paris, the French Embassy in Ukraine has reported.

14:30 Norway will transfer eight Leopard 2 tanks and up to four special-purpose tanks to Ukraine, as well as allocate funds for ammunition and spare parts, Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said.

14:19 The Russians launched two missile attacks on Konstantinovka and Kramatorsk, said the head of the Donetsk OVA Pavel Kirilenko. According to preliminary data, one person was wounded in Konstantinovka, the Palace of Culture was damaged, in which a center for issuing humanitarian aid is now operating. In Kramatorsk, the premises of a medical institution were damaged.

13:57 The army of drones has been replenished with two powerful Ukrainian Raybird-3 systems, capable of traveling up to 2500 km, flying behind enemy lines and working despite electronic warfare, Mikhail Fedorov, head of the Ministry of Digital Development, said.

13:52 All graduates of the Moscow Institute of International Relations were fired from the Polish Foreign Ministry, said the head of the department, Zbigniew Rau: "The Moscow State Institute of International Relations was an investment in the activities of Russian imperialism. This is part of Soviet soft power. Graduates were supposed to serve the state mind of this empire. We succeeded close a very important process, which is part of decommunization in the broadest sense."

13:31 The first Gauleiter of Mariupol, Konstantin Ivashchenko, who was recently replaced by Oleg Morgun, was liquidated by the FSB, said the adviser to the current mayor of the city, Petr Andryushchenko, citing sources.

13:15 In European countries, the Russian spy network continues to operate actively, Andriy Chernyak, a representative of the military intelligence of Ukraine, said in an interview with the Greek edition of Iefimerida. According to him, one of the main goals of the Russians is to influence certain authoritative people in European countries, as well as public opinion.

Therefore, according to Chernyak, the Russian Federation invests a lot in working with the media: “These are their open propaganda mouthpieces, such as Russia Today, and other more hidden ways of influence. There are cases when foreign media journalists recruited by Russians go to work with a single task - talk to your colleagues to influence their opinion in favor of Russia."

Chernyak noted that recently the Russian spy network has focused on neutralizing the supply routes of Western weapons to Ukraine: “Russia is interested in all of Europe as a zone of influence. If it conquers Ukraine, it will not stop there. It will go further. And we know that Putin has such were the plans before the invasion of Ukraine. Perhaps they have not changed even now."

12:44 German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius does not believe in the imminent end of the war in Ukraine: "I think that the end of the war is not expected in the short term. I also do not see a quick victory." At the same time, he recalled the risks of escalation and stressed the importance of continuing support for Ukraine.

12:31 The head of the human rights organization Rus, sitting Olga Romanova, said that the combat and non-combat losses of PMC Wagner in Ukraine amount to 40,000 people out of 50,000 recruited prisoners. She also confirmed that Prigozhin stopped recruiting new people in the camps: "Wagner stopped recruiting prisoners. I think that now near Bakhmut he is finishing off the remaining prisoners and will turn around and go to Africa."

According to Romanova, in one of the colonies of the Kemerovo region, out of 105 recruited on November 9, only 16 people survived: “It was in November that they were taken away, by January 15% of them remained. they don't exist at all."

12:18 Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said at the Ramstein meeting that Germany, Poland, Canada, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands will supply Leopard tanks to Ukraine. In addition, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands will supply Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, France and Italy - SAMP/T. Other countries will supply ammunition.

11:53 Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin promised that the United States and allies will help the Ukrainians go on the counteroffensive: "All countries from around the world continue to step up their efforts and consider new solutions. Together, this Contact Group clearly states that we will support Ukraine in its struggle. We We will help Ukraine launch a counteroffensive in the spring."

11:48 Ukraine needs $40-48 billion of funding this year to keep the country's economy functioning, IMF head Kristalina Georgieva said.

11:27 The head of the administration of the city of Baikonur signed a resolution on a one-time payment of 260 thousand rubles to local residents who will go to war in Ukraine on mobilization or voluntarily, the Kazakh news agency KazTAG reports. At the same time, local residents were promised not to be forced to go to war.

11:19 Germany is setting up the production of ammunition for Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, which are planned to be delivered to Ukraine, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said.

10:53 Stoltenberg said that the issue of fighter jets for Ukraine is currently not the most urgent, but it is being discussed. "Consultations are now taking place between NATO countries regarding the types of support to Ukraine, and we will continue these discussions. Our assistance to Ukraine is changing and will change as the conflict develops," the NATO Secretary General stressed.

Stoltenberg also added that NATO does not see any signs that Putin is preparing for peace: "We see that, on the contrary, he is preparing for the continuation of the war, for new offensives and new attacks."

10:49 Electricity consumption in Ukraine remains significant on February 14, but there is no shortage of power so far, Ukrenergo reported. To date, consumption limits have not been brought to the regions, but with an increase in consumption, shutdowns are possible. In Odessa, due to damaged infrastructure, minor network restrictions are still in place.

10:40 The United States warned Ukraine that a turning point was coming in the war, and asked to decide on priorities, writes The Washington Post, citing sources. In particular, it is noted that for many months Ukraine spent significant resources and troops defending Bakhmut. But American military analysts are convinced that simultaneously defending Bakhmut and launching a spring counteroffensive to return the temporarily occupied territories is unrealistic. The US calls land de-occupation more important. And if Ukraine continues to fight wherever Russia sends troops, it will work in Moscow's favor, according to Washington.

Therefore, US officials called on Ukraine to prioritize the timing and conduct of the spring counteroffensive, especially at a time when the US and Europe are training Ukrainian fighters to use the new weapons that appear on the battlefield.

10:17 The United States may transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine or give permission for their re-export, writes the Financial Times, citing sources in Washington. The US admits it will likely provide Kyiv with better aviation as the war drags on, or at least allow F-16 transfers from other countries, the newspaper notes.

10:02 The ninth meeting of Ukraine's allies in the Ramstein format begins in Brussels. Reznikov has already arrived and met with the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin. It is planned that at the meeting they will discuss the protection of the Ukrainian sky, including with the involvement of aviation, the "tank coalition", and the training of the Ukrainian military.

09:38 In the Kherson region over the past day, two people were killed due to Russian shelling, three more were injured, the OVA reported.

09:33 British intelligence reports that over the past three days, Wagner PMC forces have made little progress around the northern outskirts of Bakhmut, including in Krasnaya Gora. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to defend in this area, and the Russian tactical offensive south of the city has probably made little progress.

In the north, in the Kremennaya-Svatovo region of the Luhansk region, Russian troops are conducting continuous offensive operations, intelligence reports. There is a real possibility that their immediate goal is to move west to the Stallion River, according to intelligence. Analysts estimate that the current operational picture suggests that Russian forces are receiving offensive orders in most directions, but in none of them have they concentrated enough combat power to achieve a decisive effect.

09:26 At recent meetings at the Pentagon, US officials told representatives of Kiev that they do not have enough stocks of ATACMS missiles to transfer them to Ukraine, writes Politico. The transfer of ATACMS to the battlefield in Eastern Europe will reduce US stocks and damage the readiness of the US military, they said.

According to the publication, Kyiv plans to seek Washington's approval for the purchase of ATACMS from an allied country. Such missiles are in service with South Korea, Poland, Romania, Greece, Turkey, Qatar and Bahrain.

09:10 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believes that Russia can transfer additional mobilized units to the Ugledar front that can defend or conduct offensive operations at attrition, but they are unlikely to become effective mechanized units capable of conducting successful offensive operations in a short period of time . Analysts also do not rule out that the Russian Federation will try to strengthen the attack on Ugledar with a large number of mobilized troops or by redirecting the remaining units of the Northern Fleet to this area.

08:57 The General Staff announced the approximate losses of the Russians as of the morning of February 14th.

  • personnel - about 139,080 (+740) people liquidated,

  • tanks - 3286 (+3),

  • armored combat vehicles - 6500 (+8),

  • artillery systems - 2299 (+9),

  • MLRS - 466 (+1),

  • air defense systems - 234 (+0),

  • aircraft - 298 (+2),

  • helicopters - 286 (+0),

  • UAV operational-tactical level - 2011 (+4),

  • cruise missiles - 857 (+0),

  • ships/boats - 18 (+0),

  • automotive equipment and tankers - 5155 (+5),

  • special equipment - 218 (+1).

08:31 The Russian army continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupyansky, Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Novopavlovsky directions, incurring significant losses. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are taking additional measures to strengthen the defense, the General Staff said in the morning summary .

Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled the attacks of Russian invaders in the areas of the settlements of Gryanikovka, Kharkiv region; Nevsky, Kremennaya, Kuzmino, Shipilovka and Belogorovka - Luhansk and Fedorovka, Paraskoveevka, Bakhmut, Vodianoe, Maryinka and Pobeda of the Donetsk region.

To motivate their soldiers to attack, the Russian military leadership promises them daily allowances for participating in the assaults. Also announced a surcharge for each kilometer of advancement.

In the meantime, agitation work began in Moscow to mobilize scientists. In particular, explanatory work was carried out with the staff of the Polyus Research Institute, the leading Russian scientific center in the field of laser technologies, about social guarantees and benefits for the mobilized.

08:04 Russia has not been able to solve the problems of its army during the year of the war, said John Kirby, White House national security spokesman. According to him, Putin “does not make good decisions” and should not have invaded Ukraine in the first place: “It is clear that neither he nor his military made reasonable decisions regarding their actions on the battlefield. They are still suffering from some of the same issues as a year ago: logistics, support, integration of joint firepower, personnel, unit cohesion. I could go on and on."

06:33 About five thousand people still remain in Bakhmut, including 140 children, said Pavel Kirilenko, head of the Donetsk OVA. According to him, 12,000 children have been evacuated from the city since the beginning of the full-scale war. Over the past week, about a thousand people left the city.

"This direction remains the hottest at the front, and the less civilians there, the easier it is for the Ukrainian Defense Forces to do their job. The military must not break away and continue to prepare defensive lines," the head of the OVA explained and recalled that since February 13, Bakhmut has been closed for entry for journalists and volunteers. Now it is allowed to enter and leave the city for people who have a residence permit in Bakhmut.

06:08 The United States will announce another major military aid package to Ukraine next week, as well as additional sanctions against the Kremlin, writes The Washington Post. According to the publication, in addition to military support, the White House intends to allocate $10 billion to Kyiv as direct budgetary assistance.

The White House believes that the decisive moment is approaching at the front, which is expected in the spring, notes WP. Washington considers Ukraine's return of as much territory as possible in the coming months, before negotiations begin, as the best-case scenario. At the same time, American intelligence is confident that Ukraine will not yet be able to organize an attack on Crimea.

03:35 Biden will arrive in Poland in order to personally thank the head of state Andrzej Duda and the entire Polish people for their role in supporting Ukraine, said John Kirby, coordinator of the White House National Security Council. In addition, according to him, the American president wants to emphasize the importance of "the courage and unity that Poland and many other members of NATO are now demonstrating."

02:14 For the first time in 30 years, Russian warships began to go to sea with tactical nuclear weapons on board, Norwegian intelligence reported. The main part of the nuclear potential is located on submarines and surface ships of the Northern Fleet.

01:47 Lukashenko said that the CSTO countries should decide on their position on Russia's war against Ukraine, since this is their conflict too: "If someone thinks that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia is not our conflict, that quietly somewhere we'll sit it out, nothing like that will happen... The time will come, it's not far away, literally tomorrow, it will demand to be determined, to take a certain position."

00:25 During the war in Ukraine, three crime bosses from Russia were liquidated . They led criminal gangs, which, among other things, were engaged in contract killings. The criminals expected to be released after their participation in the war against Ukraine, writes Bellingcat.

Poland continues to fight on two fronts
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Petr Akopov

[RIA] Warsaw firmly holds the palm in terms of the number of absurd and provocative statements. In anticipation of the visit of Joe Biden, which will take place next week, the Polish leadership seems to be competing with each other. President Andrzej Duda, in an interview with Le Figaro, says that "if it is very urgent, in the coming weeks, we do not send military equipment to Ukraine, Putin can win." And we don't know where he will stop, the Pole continues, thereby hinting to the French and Germans that they should prepare to meet Russian tanks.

Polish leaders have more than once and openly frightened Berlin of the Russian invasion - while not ceasing to accuse Germany of slowness and conciliation with the Russians, while presenting themselves as the saviors of Europe.

But Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak has now gone even further, essentially blaming Germany for plotting Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In a TV interview on Polish television, Blaszczak was asked if Poland and Germany were playing the same game in the Ukrainian direction. The Minister is not sure about this:

“Could it be the other way around? Does Germany really want to support Ukraine, or, as they have done for years, they supported Putin, because there is no doubt that Germany has built Putin’s strength, that Germany has built the financial foundation, which allowed Putin to attack Ukraine. There is a change in German policy, we'll see how long it lasts. All this requires a certain amount of pressure on the Germans."

So here it is - Germany helped Putin, thereby creating the conditions for an attack on Ukraine, and in general it is no less guilty than Russia. This "Polish logic" is not new - in the same way, the Polish leaders blamed Germany and the USSR for the fall of their state in 1939, Hitler and Stalin, and the second was a little less to blame for them than the first, and now it's the other way around, Russia and Germany are to blame for the fall of Ukraine. Putin has been Hitler for a long time, although Scholz is not yet Stalin, but let's see how they talk in Warsaw after the collapse of the Square.

This scheme is simple - there are terrible Russians and Germans who are always trying to enslave their neighbors - the unfortunate proud Poles (now the Ukrainians play their role - with active Polish direction). The Germans were put in their place after 1945, but they still behave incorrectly, so Blaszczak says they need to be put under pressure, as is the case with the supply of weapons:

"This requires pressure from Poland, from Ukraine and other countries of our part of Europe."

And, of course, on the part of the United States - otherwise Germany could again "return to the policy of supporting Putin, which it has been pursuing for years." True, the question arises - how much pressure should be put on Germany? Is it enough just to scare with "Russian tanks near Berlin", as Prime Minister Morawiecki does, or is something stronger needed?

Polish demands for reparations of 1.3 trillion euros for damage during the Second World War - is this enough to discourage the Germans from even thinking about relations with Russia? Or is it too small an amount (as the ruler of Poland, Kaczynski, has already said), and the bill needs to be doubled? And to demand more German lands - in addition to those that Stalin cut to Poland after the war?

Polish madness and arrogance have no boundaries - including difficult to understand where one begins and the other ends. Once again in their history, the Polish elites are relying on distant allies to pressure and provoke their neighbors. Each time this bet turns out to be beaten, and the allies leave the Poles to their fate, but their own history does not teach the "proud gentlemen" anything. Unable to understand that those they considered allies were simply using them to their advantage. There is no doubt that the same will happen at the current turn of history.

#2  Abu Ghraib was going great, it was just mismanaged. American recruitment and evaluation policy must have begun to suck just then. The photos shouldn't have gotten out. Instead they should have discretely disseminated rumours for the psyche value. There shoulda been more Abu Ghraibs actually, and prisoners shoulda been used up totally. Like they do in Xinjiang. Oh, maybe Raeisi will learn all about it after the 21 gun salute. 🙂

Also, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation conducted offensive operations in the Experimental area. Artillery worked on Krasnogorovka, Nevelskoye, Pervomaisky, Thin and Avdeevka.

To the south-west of Bakhmut, the PMC "Wagner" continues its assault operations near Ivanovsky. APU hold positions. Fierce fighting on the eastern outskirts of the city itself. Neither side can boast of success. But to the north, after the capture of Krasnaya Gora, it seems that Wagner PMC resolved the issue with Paraskovyovka. To the north-west of this settlement, the "orchestras" cut the M-03 highway.

Now holding positions in Paraskoviivka is tantamount to suicide for the Ukrainian army. From the east they are shot from the heights, and from the west they close the encirclement. To the north-west of Soledar, the fighters of the PMC "Wagner" came close to Vasyukovka. And to the north they attack in the direction of Fedorovka and Rozdolovka.

In the Luhansk direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a missile attack on Stakhanov. Otherwise, the initiative belongs to the Russian army. From Dibrova - an attack towards Zarechnaya. A little to the north - offensive actions on Yampolevka. More to the north - an attempt to break through to Nevsky and Makeevka. And not far from the Russian border, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are attacking from the side of Dvurechnaya taken from Gryanovka in order to force the Armed Forces of Ukraine across the Oskol River.

Okay, not needed. The Russians approved the ban on unnecessary foreign language statements
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Aleksandr Tishchenko

[REGNUM] Most Russians were in favor of officials not overloading their speeches with foreign words. This was shown by a poll of the FOM, conducted in the wake of the decision of the State Duma.

The majority of Russians (65%) approve of the idea of a legislative ban on officials using foreign borrowings in speeches if they have a full-fledged replacement in Russian. This is evidenced by a survey conducted by the FOM in the last days of January and whose results were published at the end of last week. 18% of fellow citizens do not support the idea of such a ban, another 17% of respondents find it difficult to decide on an answer.

On December 13 last year, the State Duma adopted in the first reading a government bill, which says that the use of foreign words is inadmissible, with the exception of those that do not have commonly used replacements in Russian. This applies to cases of using the Russian language as the state language, Interfax clarifies .

Most of the respondents reported that in general they had a negative attitude towards foreign borrowings. But about 28% said that the Russian language, on the contrary, is enriched by such words.

In the list of the most unpleasant foreign words for Russians, “ok” is in the first place (only from 6%). By the way, OK is the most common word on the planet, according to the Global Language Monitor association . And, according to Russian philologists, it has come into use since at least the 1970s.

Further, in the FOM survey, “all youth slang” follows (3% each). 1% each scored “business slang”, as well as the words “shopping”, “shop”, “boutique”, “cashback”, “wow”, “krinzh”, “hype”, “manager”, “fake”, “ hello, goodbye and rofl. A few modern jargons perhaps need clarification. “Krinzh” can be “translated” as something related to a sense of shame, “ruffling” is something between “joking” and “joking viciously”. The more well-known "hype" is just a hype or, to use a borrowed word from French, a hype.
Krinzh == cringe
A wary and negative attitude is characteristic mainly of the older generation, and the older the Russians, the more intolerant they are of foreign borrowings in the language. On the other hand, the respondents aged 18-30 mostly approve of borrowing and believe that they enrich the language.

It seems that this is also the case with answers to the question of whether the use of foreign words in Russian by others causes irritation. Young survey participants in the majority (68%) say they do not experience irritation. People older than 31 are more likely to say that “it happens”. In the older group of respondents, irritation already prevails.

The authors of the FOM study drew attention not only to age differences, but also to where respondents prefer to get information from. “The use of foreign words in the media does not irritate 51% of Russians who read news on the Internet (sometimes it causes 45% of the Internet audience), and among respondents who prefer traditional media, 61% are irritated from time to time (32% are more likely not irritated). are being tested)," the Public Opinion Foundation said in a statement.

For decades, Russia has been developing as a state that has partially lost its independence, and the Russian elite, including the creative one, switched to the language of the “big brother,” writer and public figure Yuri Polyakov noted in an interview with REGNUM news agency.

"In this case, it is the American version of English. From here all these endless “car sharing” appeared, although we have a wonderful word “rental," says Polyakov. Although, on the other hand, "car sharing," which recently came into the language, replaced two words - “car rental”.

Yuri Polyakov recalled foreign borrowings that logically entered the language, such as a computer "click".

"But still, the number of unreasonable borrowings is off scale, and, of course, this issue needs to be dealt with. At the same time, there are also tracing papers - for example, “panel discussion”, a literal translation of the English panel discussion, which simply means “round table," Polyakov pointed out.

A law that would introduce foreign borrowing within a certain framework is really needed, the interlocutor believes. “It is necessary to create, for example, an interdepartmental language center that will monitor unnecessary borrowings or confirm their necessity, which will give permission and advise, for example, when registering the names of new companies,” Polyakov believes .

At the same time, he urged not to turn the law into a tool for a "witch hunt", because "many people think that borrowing can be dispensed with."
"It is impossible to do without them, but it is possible and necessary to do without unnecessary and stupid borrowings,” the writer noted. However, he clarified, it is not only about borrowed "shops", but also about the incorrect use of primordially Russian words.

"There is also an illiterate use of the Russian language - for example, the word “settlement”, which in Russian has always been associated with deprivation of liberty and which is used as a territorial-administrative unit,” Polyakov noted.

It is unlikely that the language requires legislative protection from foreign excesses - it gets rid of them on its own, in a natural way, a teacher of Russian language and literature at the Moscow school named after V.I. F. M. Dostoevsky Sergey Valyugin , head of the organizing committee of the international competition "Dostoevsky Readings".

Foreign borrowing, if appropriate and done in moderation, has its own advantages - in particular, the convenience of their use. Most often, borrowed words are shorter, which means they simplify and speed up communication,

"Some words, such as, for example, the names of certain equipment - “iPhone”, “iPad”, remain, because the language “understands” that using these words is easier and shorter than using any other word,” Valyugin noted . It can be added that often the Russian language adapts to its needs not even a foreign technical term, but the name of a particular brand, turning a proper name into a common noun. So, for some time the word "copier" replaced the longer "copier" (an adjective and a noun also of foreign origin).

Short loanwords are sometimes used to replace a whole expression. For example, tracing paper from English - "fake" - in the meaning of "widespread disseminated false message."

The Anglicism "fake" can be replaced by the more traditional Latinism "disinformation" (although this will not be entirely accurate, because "disinformation is being launched" deliberately, and "posting a fake" can be done by accident).

Valyugin gave an example of how an "alien" word begins to change when it enters the environment of the Russian language.

"The word “umbrella” is borrowed and came from the Dutch language," the interlocutor recalled. The Dutch word zondek is made up of two words - zon (sun) and dek (approximately meaning "protection"). But the Russian language "recognized" the final element "ik" in the word "umbrella" as a diminutive suffix - like "cat". And so the “serious” word “umbrella” appeared, which is not in Dutch, but is in Russian.

"Language takes some foreign words, which it begins to transform and create new, own words on their basis," Valyugin noted.

Let us add that, in a similar way, foreign borrowings originally entered the Russian language: from Varangian (for example, the word "sneak" - presumably from the Old Norse embaetti - "service") and Byzantine-Greek (not only "grammar" and "mathematics", but and “lime” and “bench”) up to the Americanisms of the 20th century - like the word “computer”, which by the 1980s replaced the Soviet abbreviation “EVM”.

Those words that remain in the language for a long period of time are words that the language itself accepts, and thus its development takes place, Valyugin noted.

"At the same time, you need to understand that part of the youth slang that is used by young people in everyday life does not remain in the language, and if we look at the words that young people used in past years, we will see that now they are practically not used," said Valyugin.

So the same "krinzh" or "experience" in a generation may end up in the same place as "shoes" or "girl" - in dissertations on the youth jargon of a certain era.

Certain words that at some point came into general use "mark" a specific historical moment - for example, "putana" or "mafia" (as a synonym for any organized crime) are associated with the last years of perestroika or with the beginning of the 1990s, but from living speech, perhaps, they left.

Many current language innovations cause irritation among the older generation and acceptance among people born in the 1980s-2000s.

"There can be misunderstandings between generations because too many foreign words can be incomprehensible to older people. Thus, certain generational gaps arise," Valyugin points out. It is also annoying that borrowing can be redundant, the interlocutor notes. Indeed, "research" instead of "research" is not always justified.
The author doesn't address the issue of commonly used idioms and how they have been transformed by the Internet. Or of portmanteaus, which Russian love to aggregate, and quite often. It will be interesting how the language evolves as the law takes hold.
From a native English speaker, it should be noted, as is peculiar with all languages, is how Russians may have a word for something that is Russian, originally Russian, but it means something different. For example, I learned the term for "It's time" to Пора, which can be broken down into two different root words. I heard a different way to express it in a recent film. Meaning's is the same, but it is not the same. Would the younger Russian generation understand it?

Valyugin recalled the principle of "everything is good in moderation." “If we take and start replacing all words with native Russian ones, or if we start replacing all Russian words with borrowed ones, there will be no benefit in either case. Everything needs harmony, as Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, the creator of the modern Russian literary language , said .

#1  One of the great strengths of the English language is the constant inclusion of new words either taken from other languages or slang. If a foreign language word or slang term offers a more efficient way to convey a meaning it should be adopted to make the language more efficient, easier to use and more powerful. It's called evolution. The alternative is to ossify.

Western intelligence shows Russians amassing aircraft on Ukraine border
[FT UK] Nato allies to prioritise rapid shipments of air defences and ammunition as conflict enters new phase

Western intelligence shows Russia is amassing aircraft close to the border with Ukraine, an indication that Moscow is preparing to throw its jets and helicopters into the war to support a stuttering land offensive.

The fear of a looming air war in Ukraine has prompted allies to prioritise rapid shipments of air defence assets and artillery ammunition to Kyiv, western officials said, to respond to the shift in approach by Moscow as the almost year-long war enters a new phase.

Intelligence shared among Nato allies shows Russia is amassing fixed-wing and rotary aircraft close to the border with Ukraine, according to two officials briefed on its contents.

In meetings with allied countries supporting Ukraine on Tuesday, US defence secretary Lloyd Austin highlighted the threat of Russia’s significant remaining air force.

"He was very clear that we have a short window of time to help the Ukrainians to prepare for an offensive and that they had some pretty specific needs," a senior US administration official said.

"The Russian land forces are pretty depleted so it’s the best indication that they will turn this into an air fight. If the Ukrainians are going to survive . . . they need to have as many air defence capabilities and as much ammunition . . . as possible," the official added.

Cauldron for the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to boil: That's why we bite into Bakhmut and Ugledar
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Translation note: The Russian word for cauldron, Котел, or kettle (translated as boiler) with the more common term for the word, cauldron. A better word would be pocket, which the Germans used during WWII. Only replaced in the title.

[KP] The events of recent days have clearly outlined (or confirmed) the strategic plan of the “battle for Donbass” and all the fears of Kyiv politicians and the military. Military correspondent KP.RU Dmitry Steshin saw this battle from two sides with his own eyes

They tried to destroy the pipe with shells and even hit once, but it resisted.

FIELD OF SLAVYANSK
The first, logical question - what does Bakhmut (Artemovsk) have to do with it? It turns out everything is connected. Even at the beginning of summer, when fighting began in the Ugledar direction, I heard the following opinion from the fighting officers: 'If only we don’t have to storm Slavyansk and Kramatorsk head-on, we’ll get stuck.'

In fact, with the fall of Bakhmut, the enemy in the Donbass will have the last defensive knot, the so-called "Slavic-Kramatorsk agglomeration." A long gut of cities, towns and industrial zones, running in an arc from north to south.

This natural defensive line had, as they say in Ukraine - fortifications, fortresses in the foreground - Soledar, Bakhmut and many adjacent villages turned into defensive nodes. These villages, for the most part, have already been taken. Soledar fell, the capture of Bakhmut is a matter of the near future.

According to local residents and official statements by the Ukrainian authorities, since Monday, access to Bakhmut has been closed to civilians who do not live in the city, volunteers and journalists. And all the roads leading to Bakhmut are either cut or shot through. There is no reason not to trust the locals.

As early as last week, the "Wagnerites" storming Bakhmut from the north confirmed to the military commander "KP" - "the enemy's artillery activity has noticeably decreased."

And the last foreign journalists who visited the city - from the British BBC, in their report noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to experience a shortage of ammunition even for small arms. The moment is unpleasant for the enemy, especially when fighting began in urban areas.

Under the circumstances, we can wait for the enemy to start retreating to more reliable lines - that is, to the "Slavyansko-Kramatorsk agglomeration". But, there he prepared an unpleasant surprise.

Everyone remembers the sad story of the French defensive Maginot Line, which the German Wehrmacht simply bypassed, did not hammer concrete fortifications in the forehead? In this story, the whole problem of such defensive lines is hidden - they can be bypassed, they are not designed for all-round defense.

Even fortresses built to fight in complete encirclement always have weak spots where the walls are lower, the stockade is rotten, the fighters are cowardly and untrained. What can we say about the 100-kilometer gut of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, accustomed to fighting only on one side, from the east.

The Kyiv military and politicians have repeatedly stated that Kramatorsk and Slavyansk will become "indestructible strongholds against which the Muscovite hordes will break." Of course, if the "Moskal hordes" begin to storm them head-on, from the East. For a number of reasons, we will not do this.

The first sign is a sharp intensification of fighting near Kremennaya, hanging from the north over Slavyansk.

And the second sign is the beginning of the assault on Ugledar. It is not going smoothly and not in everything smoothly, but no one backed down. In this town is our chance to go from the south to the rear of the "Slavyansko-Kramatorsk" group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Because behind Vuhledar there are no more powerful Ukrainian defensive centers, there are no big cities. Fields and a rare grid of roads - nothing to cling to the enemy.

The means of objective control transmitted a mean black-and-white picture of the "product" hitting the top of the pipe, exactly through the electronic "eyes" and antennas.

BYPASS FROM THE SOUTH
The second option is an intermediate result: to half or completely surround the grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine standing near Donetsk and digging in there for nine years. The whole world knows the name of these towns and villages like Avdievka and Marinka, from which Ukrainian troops have been shelling the capital of the DPR all this time.

Over the weekend, ours used the so-called “product 305” on Vuhledar. The tallest building in the town is the CHP chimney. The Armed Forces of Ukraine hung on it all possible means of observation - optics, thermal imagers, night vision devices. Ugledar is already on a hill, so the enemy, in fact, controlled all approaches to the city and the entire offensive zone from the pipe. They tried to destroy the pipe with shells and even hit once, but it resisted.

"Product 305" carries 25 kg. explosives and is launched from a helicopter at a distance of up to 14 kilometers. The means of objective control transmitted a mean black-and-white picture (watch the video on our website KP.RU) of the “product” hitting the top of the pipe, exactly on the electronic “eyes” and antennas. Now there is confidence that our Ugledar will no longer be left alone, they will take it and move on.

Until the pincers squeeze the last "Bandera stronghold" in the Donbass.

Supply of the Artemovsk group
Direct Translation via Google le Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] Supply map of the Artemovsk grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 14.

Today Prigozhin once again urged not to hurry with throwing caps about the operational encirclement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There is still enough work.

Of key importance is the road through Khromovo, through which the main flow of ammunition and replenishment passes (according to Prigozhin, 300-500 people of fresh replenishment are poured into Artemovsk per day).

The road to Slavyansk has already been physically cut off. The road through Krasnoe - fire control.

The fighting is going on 3.5 km from Yasov Yar.

#1  Frontline Status 2/14:
In Vuhledar, definitely no assaults going on
➡️In Avdiivka it's quiet
➡️In Mar'inka, Russia claimed progress south and north. So far, no confirmation
➡️S of Hulyapole, Zaporizhzia region there are some small movements, but not very significant. Fighting in gray zones mostly.

Bakhmut: Magyar today confirmed what we reported yesterday, Russians were pushed back S/SW of Ivanivske. They are at least (!) 3KM away from the T0504 at present. To the north, Russian troops have been driven away from the M03, there is a positive buffer. Paraskoviivka is still fought for

Significant AFU reinforcements have arrived in the area over the past week, including battlehardened and established brigades such as the 80th Air Assault. Since a couple of days, the AFU has even succeeded in launching small offensives around whole Bakhmut, with positive outcome

I'm willing to concede that the Rus have lost 2 or 3 times already and are completely out of missiles and soldiers, but looking at a map, they are not doing badly against an army that has been preparing defenses since 2014.

#6  The Russians did expect a short war. The Russian army went into Ukraine w/o ammo, fuel or food reserves. Seems a lot of them, esp conscripts, didn't even know they crossed into Ukraine while others thought they would be warmly greeted. The power of propaganda and state controlled media.

The Russians bet that Ukraine was a Crimea writ large. But Kyiv isn't Sevastopol, populated by Russian navy retirees and with plenty of time to flood the battle space with Little Green Men. In 2014, the Donbass, even with LGM preparation, there was enough opposition to the Russian takeover that the Russian army had to invade. Other places like Mariupol or Odessa, the locals were able to defeat the Kremlin putschists.

When they showed they'd fight the west grew a spine and went all in which I'm certain Putin didn't expect.

[DonRF] On Tuesday, February 14, at the American air base in Ramstein, Germany, the next meeting of defense ministers of Ukraine's allies is going. As a result of the previous meeting in January, the allies agreed to supply tanks to Kyiv, including the American M1 Abrams, German Leopard 2 and British Challenger 2

And in February it will be about rockets and aircraft. Moreover, Kyiv wants 200 aircraft, in addition to 400 tanks, and missiles with a range of at least 300 km. And the question is simply - will they give it or not. I can say right away - the United States will not. It will not give because it took an interesting position in the conflict. On the one hand, the US gave Kyiv a hell of a lot of money.

For this amount, the Armed Forces of Ukraine could be armed with everything from Bradley to the Death Star. But if you look closely, a significant part of this money was spent ... on the rearmament of the US Army. And the Americans supply at least. What does a light weapon, without going beyond certain limits. The exception is Himars and other artillery, but without him the war would have been lost

The main supplier is the EU. The Danes and Estonians were now left without artillery. The first gave away all 15 self-propelled guns Caesar, the second - just do everything firing shells. Germany is left without a reserve of tanks. Serviceable Leopard 1 go to Ukraine.

And I'm tormented by the suspicion that the rest is complete rubbish. Least of all, France and Italy are involved in idiocy, which give the minimum, while maintaining a combat-ready army, the Poles are the strongest. The position of Britain is interesting - with loud cries and outward radicalism, the Island is also in no hurry to drain the arsenals, politely frostbitten from aircraft, and giving a symbolic number of tanks.

In fact, the United States is disarming Germany, small countries and Young Europeans. They will pay for everything in the end, being forced to start a large-scale rearmament of American weapons for space money.

So, rockets and planes. They will give something. Remains of the Soviet legacy for sure. There, the Slovaks and Poles still have the MiG-29, as a kind of legacy of the policy of the USSR, in which they could not understand in any way - the allies should have a generation worse. But this is only air defense.

With the MiG-29, the strike aircraft is very so-so. And from the rest - well, the Polish will not drive the Su-22, in fact. It's not even funny. Hence life pushes for deliveries. But what ... now they are trying to spin the Swedes on their Gripens, but they resist, not wanting to give up attack aircraft. Alternative - F-16 of Poland and the Netherlands

On missiles - the United States refused. But Europeans also have missiles. And knowing the US’s love for raking in the heat with proxy ... Well, the involvement of Europeans in the conflict, where the entry is the ruble, and the exit is already a gold piece ... In a word, the problem will also be solved, but not immediately and not directly. In the West, in this sense, just do calm. We are calm because there is no reaction from Moscow to the supplies. Well, apart from the statements.

And you can't sew them to work. As a result, Kyiv will get everything. Small doses and gradually. This is beneficial, both economically, because the EU will replenish the arsenals in the United States, and politically, because the trophy, in the form of a bearskin, attracts many.

But then again - it's not worth waiting for everything at once. Everything will be slow and gradual, not a fact in Ramstein, but it will be. I'm just waiting for the peak of deliveries in the fall. When they fire up the defense industry. And when, according to their calculations, fatigue from the conflict and misunderstanding of its meaning and goals will increase in Russia.

For Artemovsk is good, five to ten kilometers near Donetsk too, and if we fight at such a pace, then by the fall we might even take Maryinka, but it’s not accurate, but explain to a resident of conditional Tomsk, who is accustomed to the idea that the Red Army of the RF Armed Forces is stronger than all, the meaning of these operations ...

Having chosen a war of attrition, we stepped on thin ice, risking not agreements that have no alternatives and which will shift the problem to the next generation, but internal problems. At the same time, Ukraine will die of course, but, cynically speaking, even throwing aside the moral aspect, what's the matter with us? Well, apart from the new problems. It is the death of Ukraine that is beneficial to the West, and not the worst option for ending the conflict.
